Tomb Raider is a reimagining of the original Tomb Raider, that was released in 1996, and its protagonist Lara Croft.
The game has a very easy, albeit a somewhat time consuming platinum. Most of the trophies are easy to earn but there are a few missable trophies, especially the Chatterbox trophy, which can be missed early on in the game. There is also no difficulty related trophies or story based ones except for finishing the game.
There are some trophies that require a bit of grinding and exploration as well, but should come naturally. Fortunately none of the collectible related trophies are missable and collectibles can be found even after finishing the story. There are even in-game maps that will help you find them.
You will also spend a good amount of time online, to reach maximum level (Level 60) and to farm necessary amount of salvage to upgrade all your primary and secondary weapons for both factions, in addition to buying all playable characters. With the release of latest patch (v1.03), which changes the requirements for Shopaholic trophy, time spent on online portion of the game is dropped dramatically, though. Even so, you will spend at least 15 to 20 hours to reach max level, if you don't boost. This can be lowered to around 12-13 hours if you decide to boost, however.
Glitch Warning: There is a minor glitch on PS4 Definitive Edition of the game, where you may not be able to acquire one of the collectibles at Summit Forest area, which makes No Stone Left Unturned trophy missable/unobtainable. It seems this is a rare glitch as not many people have experienced it, but make sure to create a custom save and/or backup your data before you reach that point just in case it happens to you. Please check this post for more information.
Step 1: Play through the game once on any difficulty.
Every single player related trophies can be earned in one playthrough. Thereofre you can just relax and enjoy the story, while finding collectibles, completing challenges and raiding tombs as you go. There is an option to go back to the previous areas even after you finish the story to take care the rest of them, so don’t worry if you can’t find them all or don’t want to bother with them at that moment.
You can learn two of Lara's Survival skills - Advanced Salvaging and Bone Collector - early on to maximize your Salvage, which can be used for weapon upgrades, and not worry about farming them post game.
You should, however, pay attention to some of the missable trophies. One of the missable trophies, Chatterbox, requires you to talk to the Endurance crew members whenever you can. Even though most of the kill/combat related trophies can be gotten post game, enemies have varying respawn rates and it's best to earn these trophies before you are done with the story.
You can't reload your previous checkpoints to farm any kills or combat related trophies. However, you can create a custom save on any of the save slots in Pause menu under Change Save Slot, when you reach the area called Shantytown. 3 of the missable trophies (Epic Fumble, Deadeye, Boom Goes the Dynamite) can be earned after you reached this area, so you can reload that custom save if you somehow missed your chance further in the story.
Step 2: Post game clean up
If you decided to leave some of the collectibles and challenges during the previous step, load up your cleared game save to continue searching for them. Raid any optional tombs you might have left as well.
If you haven't upgraded all weapons or learned all of Lara's skill, you can Fast Travel to any location to kill and loot animals or enemies. Despite the respawn rates of enemies, you can also go for remaining kill or combat related trophies as you move back and forth between locations if you couldn't earn them.
Also if you had created a custom save like mentioned in the previous step, you can load that up and go for the 3 missable combat related trophies during this step. It's the best place to go for those trophies.
Step 3: Single Player clean up
You will clear remaining single player trophies during this step. You will need to start over if you missed a conversation for the Chatterbox trophy. Try to earn kill/combat related trophies as well, if you decided to leave them to a new playthrough.
Step 4: Online
During this step, you will take care of online trophies. You will spend a good amount of time as one of the trophies requires you to reach maximum level, which is 60. With the release of latest patch (v1.03) Shopaholic trophy requirements are changed and you no longer need to reach 3rd Prestige to unlock the trophy, but you still need to reach level 60 and buy every available weapon upgrade for both factions. If you are PS4 Definitive Edition owner, do not worry as the Shopaholic trophy works the same as patched PS3 version, so there is no need to get The General.
Fortunately, most of the trophies, including levelling up, can be boosted in private matches. But it takes 12-13 hours to reach maximum level even if you boost it. Levelling is not your only problem though and you also need to amass some amount of Salvage for Shopaholic trophy as well.
Note: Many people have experienced a glitch regarding Shopaholic after installing v1.03 patch. Please check Shopaholic trophy for more details.
Important Note: Since Online portion of the game is pretty much dead at this point (September 2013), I suggest you use Boosting Thread (PS3) or Boosting Thread (PS4) to find partners for most if not all online trophies.
