Introduction

Sound Shapes is an engaging rhythm platformer with an elaborate level generator that allows players to create their own musical masterpieces. The game contains a short 1 to 2 hour campaign mode, a timed mini game mode called Death Mode, a quick beat recognition mode called Beat School, a level creator, and a community section with a multitude of user created levels for you to play. The platinum shouldn't take very long to achieve, but the level creator and user created levels might keep you around for quite some time. The campaign is very simple and Beat School can be completed without any trouble with the use of a guide, but Death Mode is where Sound Shapes becomes challenging.

STEP 1: Complete Campaign

In this step, you will have to complete the campaign (all 5 albums, including tutorials). You DON'T need to get the collectibles. This is necessary for unlocking Beat School mode and Death Mode, which you will need to complete for the platinum trophy. This step will take about 45 min - 2 hours.

STEP 2: Complete Beat School

In this step, you will have to complete the Beat School mode. It can be really challenging if you don't use a guide. Check each specific trophy for the solutions. Using a guide it will take less than 30 minutes to complete.

STEP 3: Complete Death Mode

In this step, you will have to complete the Death Mode. It is the hardest part of this Road Map, and where you will probably spend most of your time. You'll have to complete 20 levels, which all revolve around acquiring notes before you run out of time. If you can't complete one, just keep on trying. Seeing as all notes are placed randomly, you should eventually have a lucky game. Remember to learn from your mistakes to make any subsequent games easier. For more specific information and tips, please refer to the Death Mode trophies in the guide.

This is the fourth of the six released DLCs of Sound Shapes. This DLC added a new album and 5 new Beat School levels, as with the previous DLCs. All trophies consist in completing those Beat School levels. They are relatively easy, especially if you use the solutions that you will find under every trophy description. There are 5 new Beat School levels that are included in this DLC and each of them contains a trophy to be unlocked when you complete it. To access this DLC, make sure you have the latest 1.05 update installed. Go to the editor tab in the Main Menu, press (or tap if you're on Vita) and you will be able to find the 80's Sound Pack levels. After this step, you should have obtained all of the trophies in this DLC.

Welcome to the 9th DLC instalment of Sound Shapes. This DLC, like the others, adds a new album and 5 new Beat School levels. All the 5 silver trophies consist of beating each Beat School level. They are all pretty easy, especially if you choose to use the picture solutions in each trophy.
 

Walkthrough:

Step 1: Beat all 5 Beat School levels
All the DLC trophies can be gotten in Beat School. To access the DLC go to Editor Tab in the Main Menu and press . All the songs for the Brass Sound Pack can be found there. Just follow the picture solutions under the trophy descriptions and you will earn each trophy easily.

Introduction

Yet another simple DLC Trophy set released for Sound Shapes, with 5 all new Silver trophies. Simply follow the pictures that I have included with the respective trophies to earn yourself a very easy 100%.

Currently this DLC is unavailable to European PlayStation Stores (July 24th 2014) but it will be available everywhere from August 12th (USA) and August 13th (Europe). You can still cloud sync the DLC trophies to the regions that the DLC is not available for, refer to the Sound Shapes Autopopping and Stacking Guide and FAQ for more information on how to cloud sync (credit to TheManUtdFan for the useful thread).

Until August you must pre-order Hohokum from the United States PlayStation Store to unlock this DLC trophy pack (credit to DarkStar83x for this information in an earlier thread). Due to the current availability of the DLC, this DLC essentially costs $14.99 due to the fact that you must pay $14.99 to pre-order Hohokum from the PlayStation Store. If you have a PlayStation Plus membership for the United States Store then it will cost $11.99 to pre-order (credit to NyCzFiNeSt4pReZ for this information).


Walkthrough

Step 1: From the main menu, go into "Editor" and press to find the DLC levels.

Step 2: Complete the 5 levels, all you simply must do is copy the note placements that I have done in the pictures and you will earn the trophies with ease. Each picture is below the description of the respective trophy.

After this Step you will earn:

Introduction:

The eleventh DLC pack for Sound Shapes is now available. This pack adds new content in the form of a new album, and 5 new beat school levels to clear. There are 5 silver trophies in this pack, and as with previous DLC packs, these are earned for clearing the 5 new beat school levels. There are no trophies for the additional album levels content.

Like with the previous DLC packs, the Cloud Sync feature now will automatically pop trophies on the second/third system. Once you have completed the beat school and unlocked all trophies, sync to the Cloud. Load up the game on the other console, sync again, and the trophies should automatically pop! This should include all 4 regional games on the PS4, even if you only purchase the DLC pack in one region.

Walkthrough:

Step 1:

Enter the Editor tab from the main menu and access Beat School by pressing (or just the button on the Vita). There will be 5 new Beat School levels if you scroll to the bottom.

Play each Beat School level by laying down notes, replicating the music pattern to match. Depending upon your musical ear, this can be quite easy, or may require a bit of trial and error. Alternatively, you can simply reference the solutions below for 5 quick trophies.

As with the previous DLC packs, it is much easier to pick up the notes if you are using quality headphones on your Vita, or a good sound system. The built in speakers on the Vita will make it harder to detect the tones.

Earn all other trophies to unlock this.

Campaign Complete
Complete all Campaign levels. 

You need to finish the campaign to unlock this trophy. It consists of 20 levels (22 if you include the tutorials) distributed amongst 6 albums. Please note that you will also need to complete the tutorials for the trophy to unlock. You DON’T need to obtain all of the notes, as they are only collectibles and not required for any trophy. The albums that you will need to complete are:

  • Hello, World
  • CORPOREAL
  • Beyonder
  • D-Cade
  • Cities
  • Tutorials


I strongly recommend that you play the tutorials when you start the game, as they will let you know the game basics and how everything works.

Death Mode: Hills n' Spills
Complete the Death Mode level. 

To access this level, go under the "Home" tab, press , select the album "Hello, World", and choose the level "Hills n' Spills". You will know Death Mode is selected when the image on the record shows a red skull.

You'll need to collect 13 notes in 27 seconds by jumping between 4 platforms with balls of lava shooting up and down between them. Try holding or the entire time to move faster and jump further. There is nothing on this level to stick to so you won't need to let go of the button. The volcanoes shooting balls of lava will flash right before they erupt. After playing the level a few times, you'll understand the rhythm and shouldn't have many problems with it.

Death Mode: Sparkle Darkle
Complete the Death Mode level. 

To access this level, go under the "Home" tab, press , select the album "Hello, World", and choose the level "Sparkle Darkle". You will know Death Mode is selected when the image on the record shows a red skull.

You'll need to collect 10 notes in 23 seconds by bouncing on heads. If you jump on the same head twice in a row you will bounce high enough to hit the roof, which will kill you instantly. Don't move too fast because it can be difficult to make a turn in the opposite direction without hitting the same head twice. Try taking it slow to see if that helps you. I found that letting myself get to the edge of the screen and then making a turn around was helpful. You won't die if you hit the edge. Note that if you hit two heads at once and then hit one of them afterwards, it will count as a double hit, but if you hit one and then hit the same along with another head at the same time, it will not count as a double hit.

Death Mode: Sneak n' Deke
Complete the Death Mode level. 

To access this level, go under the "Home" tab, press , select the album "Hello, World", and choose the level "Sneak n' Deke". You will know Death Mode is selected when the image on the record shows a red skull.

You'll need to collect 12 notes in 36 seconds by jumping between a number of platforms floating in the air while 3 enemies engage you. You can stick to the bottoms of the platforms, but not the tops. Whenever you need to make a drop to a lower platform, hold or so you don't get stuck to any platforms on the way down. When trying to climb up a platform, if you've made it about halfway up, you can simply jump to save a bit of time.

Death Mode: Rowdy Cloudy
Complete the Death Mode level. 

To access this level, go under the "Home" tab, press , select the album "Hello, World", and choose the level "Rowdy Cloudy". You will know Death Mode is selected when the image on the record shows a red skull.

You'll need to collect 18 notes in 31 seconds by jumping from sets of two small platforms that are shot out rhythmically. You might not want to press or during this level as you won't gain an advantage from it. When jumping between sets of platforms, you must be on the platform closest to the direction you're jumping to in order to make the jump. If you're moving to the right, it is possible to make the jump to the next set while on the leftmost platform, but there isn't much point in attempting that.

Death Mode: Thermogenica #1
Complete the Death Mode level. 

To access this level, go under the "Home" tab, press , select the album "Beyonder", and choose the level "Thermogenic (Death Mode #1)". You will know Death Mode is selected when the image on the record shows a red skull.

You'll need to collect 16 notes in 30 seconds by jumping between platforms and avoiding electric currents. You'll know a current is coming when you see a white flash at the end of a platform. I found that reaching a note at the top right area of the screen was made a lot easier by getting a bit of a boost from holding or and doing a running jump from the platform to the left. Sticking to the topmost platform is very dangerous.

Death Mode: Thermogenica #2
Complete the Death Mode level. (3) 

To access this level, go under the "Home" tab, press , select the album "Beyonder", and choose the level "Thermogenic (Death Mode #2)". You will know Death Mode is selected when the image on the record shows a red skull.

You'll need to collect 18 notes in 27 seconds by jumping between four small platforms which each have an electric current run up them quite rapidly. The best way to avoid the currents and beat the time is to not think about the currents and just jump constantly from platform to platform. If you see that the next platform has a current that is about reach the top and kill you, just wait on the platform you're on and jump over the current when it comes up that one. It will sort of reset the rhythm of the currents. I recommend you hold or the whole time as it made for jumping to the leftmost platform easier. You can let go of the button when you're about to hit a platform to make sure you stick to it if you miss the top.

Death Mode: Mechanica
Complete the Death Mode level. 

To access this level, go under the "Home" tab, press , select the album "Beyonder", and choose the level "Mechanica". You will know Death Mode is selected when the image on the record shows a red skull.

You'll need to collect 20 notes in 63 seconds by jumping between many floating platforms and dodging rockets and saw blades. I found that avoiding the obstacles was fairly easy, but beating the time limit was rather difficult. You'll want to hold or whenever you want to get to a lower location to speed things up, and possibly when crossing straight across from one side of the level to the other. Note that there are platforms on either side of the level that you can stay on if needed, including on top of the rocket launchers.

Death Mode: Aquatica
Complete the Death Mode level. 

To access this level, go under the "Home" tab, press , select the album "Beyonder", and choose the level "Aquatica". You will know Death Mode is selected when the image on the record shows a red skull.

Here you have to get 18 notes in 32 seconds. You will be in a spaceship and will have to get the notes in the two rocks whilst avoiding the thing that will kill you. After learning how to use the spaceship well, you will be able to finish this level. To use the boost, you need to press or .

Death Mode: Extraterrestria
Complete the Death Mode level. 

To access this level, go under the "Home" tab, press , select the album "Beyonder", and choose the level "Extraterrestria". You will know Death Mode is selected when the image on the record shows a red skull.

Here you have to get 18 notes in 37 seconds whilst in a spaceship and having to avoid the red missiles. I recommend that you stay in the middle of the screen and only use or if you feel it is necessary.

Death Mode: Disasteroids
Complete the Death Mode level. 

To access this level, go under the "Home" tab, press , select the album "D-Cade", and choose the level "Disasteroids". You will know Death Mode is selected when the image on the record shows a red skull.

The hardest part on this level is actually avoiding the red things rather than the time limit. Personally, I finished it with more than 10 seconds remaining on the clock.

You'll need to collect 38 notes in 30 seconds by dodging a very determined business man with a laser beam. The notes tend to spawn very close to one another, but you'll have to dodge the laser quite often. The key here is to listen to the music. When you hear the heavy distorted note in the song, that's your time to jump. Wait until the note is about to end though, or you'll be jumping too early.

Death Mode: Cities

Here you will have to get 20 notes in 33 seconds. You just need to move on the green floor, avoiding the red bugs and red missiles. It isn’t as hard as it looks as you have ample time to complete this level. If you are having trouble howevever, remember that practice makes perfect.
