Introduction

Ridge Racer was one of the launch games for the PS Vita. The game without the gold pass DLC has 5 cars and 3 tracks, so not a great amount of content. The game is very fun though and I sunk 30 odd hours into it and didn't even get bored.

The game in terms of the Platinum is long and grindy. You have to complete every mode 50 times to get a trophy for each of those. You also need to amass 28,000CR to buy everything on the machine map. The final grind is saving up 30,000CR to transfer teams. That's pretty much all there is to the game.

Tips and Warnings

Tips

  • Please choose a team that has the LEAST amount of players in it. This will ensure you get the VIP trophies easier.
  • This game is a drifting game, so you need to drift around every corner. To drift, let go of accelerate just before a turn and you will drift whilst navigating the corner. You don't need to brake at all in this game.
  • If you have the gold pass, you have access to the DLC cars, which are somewhat better than the standard ones.
  • Use the 'Ultimate Charge' upgrade all of the time, you will get loads of nitrous if you do. This upgrade works by only charging when you get blue flames coming out the back of your wheels. Do this by using nitrous just before a corner and then drifting through it.
  • A handy tip by CoodyBaroody so you don't have to grind as many credits, credit to him for this method:

No you dont mate, just back up your save (alot easier if you got PS+) get the trophies associated with the 30k credits and then redownload your back up save and your points will be there again.

You do NOT have to grind 60k worth of points. Just get your 30k (i went up to FLEX, AUTO ROCKET & 150+ then saved every credit i then earned till i had 30k) back up your save. Then reload the game and get Filthy VIP, Free Agent, switch teams etc etc, then download your back up save and you have your points needed for completing your upgrade map.

Its what I did so i know for a FACT it works but like i said, i have PS+ so it was really easy, without it i think it would have to be Content Manager > PS3 and you would have to wait a bit longer for it to back up all game data.

Either way, i it doesn't matter what anyone else did, YOU don't have to grind to that ridiculous amount of credits. Just get to 30k after you have got the first few upgrades, do this back up trick and your sorted. You might not win as many races but its still a hell of a lot quicker than grinding 60,000 points.

Warnings

  • DO NOT choose Trianchor Alliance for the team you do a playthrough with. This team is the biggest one and is full of pros, therefore it is too hard to get the VIP trophies (it is possible, but it will take longer.) Choose a team with the least amount of players.
  • Trophies only unlock after returning to the Main Menu from a race.
  • Use team vision to beat the Devil and Angel cars. It is difficult without it and will take longer.
  • Filthy VIP's requirements will continuously increase as the months go by. Currently for Trianchor Alliance you need 40,000CR to obtain the trophy (Correct as of 11th July 2012). It is different for other teams.
  Walkthrough

Step 1: Get all but 1 team trophy by deleting Game Data.

This will be the first thing that you want to do. You should do this early on, as it will save you having to do it later on in the game and it's less risky. If you are already far into the game, don't worry too much, but make sure that you back your data up when these are the last trophies you need. See the guide for an explanation on how to do this. At the end of this step, you'll have all of the team trophies bar one. The reason that it's recommended you delete your Game Data is that you won't have to accumulate 30K each time for the teams to enable you to switch to a new one. You can just start the game from a fresh, get the trophy for a specific team and then repeat. Trophies you will have at the end of this step are:

Welcome to Trianchor Alliance!
Welcome to Circlite Racing!
Welcome to Xealot Motorspot!
Welcome to Squaris GP!

Step 2: Choose a team with the least amount of racers in it. Reach Level 7 by playing spot races and then reach Level 16 by playing ghost battle.

After you have finished with the Game Data workaround, you will want to choose a team that has the LEAST amount of racers in it and then stick with them. The sole reason for this is the VIP trophies. The more racers there are in a team, then the harder it will be to obtain these trophies. For this step, you just want to keep playing spot races until you reach Level 7. It's highly recommended that you do this before going online, as you won't be maxed out enough to race other people online because they'll have higher top speed than you. As soon as you reach Level 7, go straight to 'Ghost Battle' and use the method mentioned in the guide to get to Level 16 very quickly. Trophies you will most likely have after this step are:

Prodigy
Solid Foundation
Capable
Skillful
Accomplished
Stellar
Tinkerer
Mad Mechanic
Triple Threat

Step 3: Obtain the miscellaneous trophies if you haven't already. After that, it's up to you

This game has no path, or goal. The only foreseeable goal is the Platinum. For this reason, I'm just going to recommend you do whatever method you see fit, whether it be winning 50 races of each game mode or grinding for the upgrade map. It is solely up to you. At the end of this step, you should have all the trophies except the 30,000CR, transferring teams and the VIP ones. Remember to watch team vision every day for a chance at getting the Spotlight VIP. The trophies you should have after this step are:

Wind Whipper
Electronic Warfare
Nitrous Master
Tech Tree Climber
Mild and Menacing
Dynamic and Dangerous
Practice Makes Perfect
Triple Lap Trickster
Single Lap Spirit
Ghost Hunter
Ghost Contender
Ectoplasmed
World Racer
Socialite
Friend or Foe?
Generous at Heart
Claim to Fame VIP
Steal the Spotlight
Been Around the Block
Journeyman
Machine Junkie
Technician
Speed Demon
Rocketeer
Stop and Smell the Roses
Nitrous-Free
Divinity
Exorcist
Gift from Beyond
Parting Gift

Step 4: Grind Ghost Battle and Online Battle until you reach 30,000CR. Continue grinding if you still don't have 'Filthy VIP'.

This is the last thing you'll want to do, which is grinding 30,000CR to switch teams. You get about 100 - 200 from the above two races, each of those take about 3 minutes including loading tunes. To help speed up the process, you can also check team vision everyday with the chance of becoming a VIP. If you get VIP, then you are awarded 1000CR. As time goes on, Filthy VIP will get harder and harder to obtain. The trophy works by you getting in the top 1000 in the credit ranking leaderboard, the requirements of which will vary from team to team. For Trianchor Alliance, the 1000th player is on about 40,000 credits. So if your playing this now in the distant future, then it's going to take hundreds of hours to get the platinum, but it should still be possible. At the end of this step, you should have your Platinum - congratulations!

48 trophies ( 36  4  )

  • You earned all the trophies in RIDGE RACER.

Just like any other platinum trophy. Earn all 47 trophies for this one, congrats!

  • You signed with Trianchor Alliance.

As soon as you start the game you have to choose a team to sign with. Simply choose Trianchor Alliance and the trophy will unlock. See Welcome to Squaris GP! for methods on obtaining these trophies without having to accumulate 30,000CR every time to switch teams for the other trophies.

  • You signed with Circlite Racing.

As soon as you start the game you have to choose a team to sign with. Simply choose Circlite Racing and the trophy will unlock. See Welcome to Squaris GP! for methods on obtaining these trophies without having to accumulate 30,000CR every time to switch teams for the other trophies.

  • You signed with Xealot Motorsport.

As soon as you start the game you have to choose a team to sign with. Simply choose Xealot Motorsport and the trophy will unlock. See Welcome to Squaris GP! for methods on obtaining these trophies without having to accumulate 30,000CR every time to switch teams for the other trophies.

  • You signed with Squaris GP.

As soon as you start the game, you have to choose a team to sign with. Simply choose Squaris GP and the trophy will unlock. Now, if you have just got the game you will want to sign up for a team, get the trophy and delete your Game Data so you can load up the game and sign up with a different team.

Game Data is deleted by holding down the Ridge Racer bubble and then pressing the '...' icon. As soon as it's gone, load the game back up again and select a different team. Repeat until you have 3/4 of the team trophies (you will transfer to the last one late in the game). If you are already well into the game, then you will want to back up your Vita to either a PS3 or PC. Do this by opening up 'PS Vita Application Data Utility' on the PS3 and then plug the Vita in. You can either do a full system back up or just back up the game (I did a full one to be on the safe side, but I don't see why just backing up Ridge Racer wouldn't do the job).

Once you've backed your data up, delete your Game Data and do the same as above. If you are doing the back up method, leave it until later in the game just in case you encounter any problems. As of 11th July 2012, Squaris GP is the least popular team.

  • You transferred teams.

The option to transfer teams is only available once you have 30,000 CR. Once you have that, simply go to 'Team Vision' and then 'Transfer Teams' in the bottom right hand corner. Trophy unlocks shortly after transferring.

  • Your team sponsor acknowledges your steady efforts, and has upgraded your machine’s specs to the next level. Keep up the good work.

You just have to level up to get this trophy and it will unlock after returning to the Main Menu. This is one of the first trophies you will unlock.

  • You’ve maxed-out your machine’s basic specs. All that’s left is letting your choice of upgrade kits and driving technique determine the winner.

Note: These upgrades are permanent additions to your car. You cannot remove them as they are automatically added when you level up.

To max out your machine's specs, you just have to reach Level 7. To get to Level 7, it's recommended that you only play spot races until you reach the target. Don't start on the online side of things until you are past Level 7 as you cannot win due to the speed upgrades that the other players are likely to have. The trophy unlocks after returning to the Main Menu upon completion of a race that bumps you into Level 7.

  • Your Skill Grade has increased to Level 2. Your rivals will be equally tougher. Make it a worthwile victory.

To level up, you need to get Victory Points (VP). The only way to obtain VP is by winning spot races, ghost battles and online races. As you don't want to go online until you are past Level 7, just keep playing spot races. You should get to Level 2 fairly quickly, but remember that you only get VP for finishing in first place. The trophy unlocks after returning to the Main Menu upon completion of a race that bumps you into Level 2. You can check what level you are by looking on the right hand side after finishing a race.

  • Your Skill level has increased to level 5. You’re making your way to being a top ridge racer!

  • Your Skill Grade has increased to Level 10. You can proudly claim to have earned a rank among the top ridge racers of the world.

Note: Once you reach Level 10, you can no longer level up by playing spot races.

  • Your Skill Grade has increased to Level 16. You can now claim the title of “ultimate racer.”

WARNING: You can get de-leveled in this game if you keep losing races. Avoid online battles until you are Level 16.

Note: To reach Level 10, you have to only play online races and ghost battles. Spot race VP will not level you up.

This may seem like a bit of a grind, but it isn't. I went from lvl 10 - 16 in about 45 minutes. Here's what you'll want to do:

    1. Go to 'World Race' then 'Ghost Battle'.
    2. When selecting a ghost, choose the global ghost option.
    3. Find any Level 16 time you think you can beat (My favourite track was the Harbourline one, any time over 2:17:000 should be easy to beat. It may take a while to find a beatable Level 16 time).
    4. After you have found one, download it and start the race.
    5. Beat the ghost and then on the results screen press Retry, not Quit (Quitting will replace the ghost with your ghost).
    6. Repeat this until you are Level 16. It will take about 45 minutes of finishing in first place to progress from Level 10 - 16.

The trophy unlocks after returning to the Main Menu when completing a race.

  • You took the first momentous step toward developing an upgrade kit on the Machine Upgrade Map.

To unlock the trophy, you simply need to buy the very first upgrade in the Upgrade Map, which is Nitrous Expansion. The trophy will unlock after completing a race and returning to the Main Menu.

There are two ways to access the Machine Upgrade Map. The first way is by selecting 'Garage' and then clicking the black square next to upgrades A, B and C. The second is to press the black square on the car settings screen before a race.

  • You reached the first branch-off point in the Machine Upgrade Map. Every great invention has its roots in risk.

To unlock this trophy, you simply need to reach the first branch off point (See Tech Tree Climber for a picture of the map) in the Upgrade Map. The first branch off point isn't very far down the line, so it shouldn't take too long. The trophy will unlock once you have purchased the upgrade, then go on to complete a race and return to the Main Menu.

  • You equipped an upgrade kit from Groups A through C for the first time.

For this trophy, you have to equip an upgrade from Groups A - C. Upgrades for Group A are at the top of the map, upgrades for Group B the middle and upgrades for Group C are at the bottom. Don't worry about this, as you will get it while going for Tech Tree Climber. Trophy unlocks after you complete a race and return to the Main Menu after you have installed upgrades A through to C.

  • You obtained Super Slipstream and Zero Slipstream for controlling the effects of slipstreaming.

These two particular upgrades are down the first branch off point in the Upgrade Map. You will meet Super Slipstream first then you go right and you will meet Zero Slipstream. Simply buy each one and the trophy will unlock once you return to the Main Menu when you complete a race after you have bought the two.

  • You obtained Hacker Kit and Data Jammer for hi-tech electronic tactics.

These two particular upgrades are on the south side of the map, at the end of the two branch off points at the very bottom. Simply buy each one and the trophy will unlock once you return to the Main Menu after you complete a race.

  • You obtained all types of Nitrous kits on the Machine Upgrade Map. Learn to take advantage of each one’s unique properties.

For this trophy, you simply need to buy everything in Group A (The light blue bordered upgrades). These consist of the following:

    • Nitrous Expansion
    • Ultimate Charge
    • Flex Nitrous
    • Hi-Nitrous
    • Quad Nitrous
    • Ext. Nitrous

Simply buy each one and the trophy will unlock once you return to the Main Menu after you complete a race.

  • You completed the Machine Upgrade Map.

This trophy is going to take a while, because the map is massive and it's filled with mainly empty blocks. Each block costs 400 CR to fill, and there's about 70 in total. 70 x 400 = 28,000 CR that you'll need in total to fill the entire map. The complete map is shown below. You need to buy all of these then finish a race and return to the Main Menu for the trophy to unlock:

  • You placed first in a race with the most Mild drift settings.

Note: Race by yourself in 'Face-to-face Battle' or 'Online Battle'. That way you will always come first.

When starting a race, you will see the car screen where you can change upgrades. You will want to press the black square with the settings gear inside it. You will then get taken to a screen where you can change transmission, speedo and drift settings. Move the bar from 'Normal' all the way down as far as you can go in the 'Mild' section. Once you've done that, you can then start the race. Trophy will unlock when you return to the Main Menu.

  • You placed first in a race with the most Dynamic drift settings.

Note: Race by yourself in 'Face-to-face Battle' or in any empty 'Online Battle' lobby. That way you will always come first.

A follow up from the previous drift settings trophy. When starting a race, you'll see the car screen where you can change upgrades. You will want to press the black square with the settings gear inside it. You will then get taken to a screen where you can change transmission, speedo and drift settings. Move the bar from 'Normal' all the way up as far as you can go in the 'Dynamic' section. Once you've done, that you can then start the race. Trophy will unlock when you return to the Main Menu.

  • You raced in over 50 Spot Races. That same commitment will pay off in the World Races, too.

Note: This type of event is your standard race, you race AI cars to try and finish first place.

Self explanatory, simply finish 50 spot races. Spot races are found on the far right above the time trial one. To check your progress, just look at the '#x' before and after a race, which shows the total amount that you've completed. You can also check in the statistics part of the Main Menu. The trophy will unlock after finishing your 50th race and returning to the Main Menu.

  • You raced in Total Time Attack over 50 times.

Note: This type of event is a time trial over 3 laps. You just have to try and get a good time.

Self explanatory, simply finish 50 total time attack events. These events are found on the far right below the spot rave icon. To check your progress, just look at the '#x' before and after a race, which shows the total amount that you've completed. You can also check in the statistics part of the Main Menu. The trophy will unlock after finishing your 50th race and returning to the Main Menu.

  • You raced more than 200 laps in Lap Time Attack.

Note: This type of event is similar to the previous one. You race 30 laps and try and get the best lap time. Make sure to finish all 30 laps. Even though it says 200 laps, you'll actually be doing 210.

Self explanatory, simply finish lap time attack seven times. These events are found on the far right below the spot race icon, simply click the lap time attack icon in that menu. To check your progress, just look at the '#x' before and after a race, which shows the total amount that you've completed. You can also check in the statistics part of the Main Menu. The trophy will unlock after finishing your seventh race and returning to the Main Menu.

  • You beat over 50 races in Ghost Battle.

Note: This type of event is similar to the spot races, except you're just racing a ghost car. You have to beat 50 and not just play 50 ghost events.

Self explanatory, simply beat 50 ghosts (Default ghost counts). Ghost battle events are found in the World Race menu, on the left. To check your progress, go to the Statistics area in the Main Menu. The trophy will unlock after beating your 50th race and returning to the Main Menu. You can just keep beating the default ghost if you wish.

  • You beat a Ghost that is higher than 10 G.

Go for this trophy when you're Level 16, as you will have earned more money for better upgrades. What you want to do is go to 'World Race' -> 'Ghost Battle'. What you want to do is find a ghost which has 10G written in the blue box. All 'G' means is that the original set time has been beaten ten times. All I did was look and look for a time over 10G which I could beat. I eventually found one and best it with ease using Ultimate Charge, Flex Nitrous and +150 nitrous on last lap. After you beat it, simply exit to the Main Menu and the trophy will unlock.

  • You submitted your race to Ghost Battle. Now they’re out to get you!

Simple enough, just beat any ghost time on 'Ghost Battle'. On the results screen, you can either press 'Upload' or you can press 'Exit." The game will ask you if you want to post your ghost, at which time you'll need to select "Yes" to the online option. The trophy will unlock upon returning to the Main Menu.

  • You raced in over 50 Online Battles.

Note: This type of event is your standard race, although you're racing online players this time.

Self explanatory, simply finish 50 online battles. These events are found in world race, then selecting the middle option. You then either create or search lobbies. You can actually create a game and just race against yourself to get this. People will join you eventually, but racing by yourself counts towards the 50. To check your progress, just look at the '#x' before and after a race, which shows the total amount that you've completed. You can also check in the statistics part of the Main Menu. The trophy will unlock after finishing your 50th race and returning to the Main Menu.

  • You raced in over 50 Face-to-Face Battles.

Note: This type of event is your standard race, you race against friends using AD-HOC though and try to finish in first place.

First thing I will say is, you DON'T need two Vitas for this. You can just race yourself 50 times. Self explanatory, simply finish 50 face to face battles. These events are found in world race, then selecting the right option. To check your progress, just look at the '#x' before and after a race, which shows the total amount that you've completed. You can also check in the statistics part of the Main Menu. The trophy will unlock after finishing your 50th race and returning to the Main Menu.

  • You raced with a Friend in an Online Battle.

Self explanatory. All you want to do is set up a lobby and have a friend go to 'Search more lobbies' and then find your PSN name and join. This will unlock the trophy for both of you. Trophy unlocks upon returning to the Main Menu after you complete an offline race. You can post in the following thread if you need a partner:

    Friend or Foe

  • You uploaded 100 Victory Points to your team through Team Vision.

Victory points, otherwise known as VP are given to you if you come first in a Spot Race, Ghost Battle or an Online Battle. You get 1VP for coming first on Spot, online and Ghost races, and you'll sometimes get two VP for online battles. To get the trophy, you have to accumulate 100VP then go to 'Team Vision' to upload the score to the leaderboards. Now you just want to complete a race and return to the Main Menu for the trophy to unlock. You don't have to upload 100 at once.

  • You ranked high in Credit Ranking and earned the title of VIP.

Note: Remember to watch Team Vision every day so that it can update the leaderboards with your new stats. This trophy will take longer and longer as time goes by as a lot of people play the game for fun and once you have all the upgrades, there isn't much point in CR, so people don't spend it, thus making this trophy difficult. REMEMBER TO ACTUALLY FINISH A RACE AFTER GETTING VIP SO YOU UNLOCK THE TROPHY.

Credit Ranking is your ranking in the leaderboards against your team, which is based on the amount of credits you have in your wallet. As you grind credits towards 30,000, you may get this depending on the team. 'High' is classified as getting in the top 1000 in the ranking leaderboard and depending on the team, this can be a lot. For Trianchor Alliance, you currently need about 40,000CR, but this number is increasing by the week. The trophy will randomly unlock when you return to the Main Menu after a race. Just remember to not transfer teams until you get this trophy. You can check what rank you are buy checking statistics then looking at 'Team Credit Ranking'.

  • You ranked high in Score Ranking and earned the title of VIP.

Note: Remember to watch Team Vision every day so it can update the leaderboards with your new stats. This one is a lot easier than Filthy VIP as not many people have a high score. I am ranked #23 as of 10th July 2012 for Trianchor Alliance, with a VP score of 157. To get in the top 1000, you'll need about 30. REMEMBER TO ACTUALLY FINISH A RACE AFTER GETTING VIP SO YOU UNLOCK THE TROPHY.

Score Ranking is your ranking in the leaderboards against your team. You earn VP (Victory Points) from simply winning races. As you grind credits towards 30,000, you will randomly get this so don't worry. 'High' is classified as being in the top 1000 in the rankings for that day. This was one of my first trophies for some odd reason - I only had about 20 VP and I unlocked it, so you might get lucky on this one. If you don't, just keep earning VP until you do. You can check what rank you are by checking statistics then looking at 'Team Credit Ranking'.

  • You’ve been selected as today’s Spotlight VIP for your team.

Every day, 1000 people in your team get chosen as the 'VIP'. Having this rewards you with 1000CR and it puts 'VIP' by your name in an online lobby for the day. This is very easy to get and I have been selected as VIP every day for the past week, most likely due to the lack of players who still actively play the game. The trophy will unlock upon returning to the Main Menu after a race. The VIP status resets every midnight, so just watch Team Vision shortly after this time each day.

  • You raced against a VIP racer in an Online Battle.

When in an online lobby you will notice some people have a 'VIP' next to their PSN, this is a Spotlight VIP. All you have to do is complete a race with them. Trophy will unlock upon returning to the Main Menu after the race.

  • You obtained over 30,000 CR, meaning you can transfer to a new team after watching Team Vision.

This will be the biggest grinding trophy in the game. My biggest tips for you would to be just to keep playing either Ghost Battles or online races. You can sometimes get between 200 - 300CR for winning one online race. The next thing you always want to do is watch Team Vision as early in the day as you can. This way, you have a greater chance of being picked as VIP, which will reward you with 1000CR. There isn't much else to the game in terms of money making, so it's just grinding these two modes and getting VIP I'm afraid. The trophy will unlock once you return to the Main Menu from a race after having 30,000CR+ on you at once. You'll now be able to switch teams and obtain the Transfer trophy, but don't do this until you've unlocked Filthy VIP.

  • You raced at least once in every race mode.

You need to race on the following game modes to get this trophy:

    • Spot Race
    • Total Time Attack
    • Lap Time Attack
    • Ghost Battle
    • Face-to-Face Battle
    • Online Battle

Upon racing at least once in each of them, the trophy will unlock when returning to the Main Menu after a race.

  • You raced on all 3 courses– Southbay Docks, Highland Cliffs, and Harborline 765 (including R courses). So which did you like best?

You will race on all of these while beating the Devil and Angel cars, so don't worry about it. If you want the trophy before doing that, then you simply need to race all six tracks on any game mode. The trophy will unlock upon returning to the Main Menu after racing on the final track. Remember you need to play the reverse ones too, so just press the reverse icon when selecting a track to change it to this direction.

  • You raced at least once with each of the 5 machines (BISARGENTO, RAUNA, FIERA, EO, SYNCi). So which driving style and design did you like best?

These five cars are the standard ones in the game. All you need to do is complete an event with each of them. Simply go to 'Garage' then select one, play a spot race, finish and quit. Repeat the whole process with the other cars in the game. Trophy will unlock after returning to the Main Menu after finishing a race with the last car you need.

  • You mastered the paddle shift in a race.

Note: Race by yourself in 'Face-to-face Battle' or 'Online Battle'. That way, you will always come first if you are the only one in the lobby.

When starting a race, you see the car screen where you can change upgrades. You will want to press the black square with the settings gear inside it. You will then be taken to a screen where you can change transmission, speedo and drift settings. Touch transmission and change to paddle shift. Paddle shift is fairly straightforward to use - you tap the right side of the Vita's touch pad to shift up, and the left to shift down. It says master, but I think that just means win. However, just to be on the safe side, get into the highest gear, then shift down one every corner and shift up when you exit. Once you've applied those settings, you can then start the race. Trophy will unlock when you return to the Main Menu.

  • You reached the maximum speed with a maxed-up machine, and added a maximum nitrous.

Note: You must be Level 7 to have the maxed-up machine upgrade. You also need Hi-Nitrous. It doesn't matter what the other upgrades are.

What you want to do is load up any track with a long straight (Highland Cliffs will do). Make sure you have Hi-Nitrous equipped and the auto or ultimate charge nitrous. You want to wait until all three tanks are full before reaching the long straight. As soon as you reach it, press L and R together to unleash all three at once (It's and if you have the other settings). You should reach around 280mph, which is the speed that I reached. Try this on each lap and then if you reached top speed, you will unlock the trophy when returning to the Main Menu.

  • You successfully pulled off a rocket start.

Note: If for some reason you are having a lot of difficulty doing this, then you can just get the upgrade in group A 'Auto Rocket Start' which does the rocket start for you.

A rocket start is when you get a burst of acceleration at the start of a race. You do this by hitting the needle just before the red area of the speedo as soon as the DJ says 'Go!'. So just hover the needle just before the red area and press accelerate at the right time. If done correctly, you will get a burst of acceleration and the DJ will say "Great start, but don't get too comfortable". The trophy will unlock upon returning to the Main Menu if you did it right.

  • You stopped by that special spot on the Harborline 765 course.

This area can be found on both the forward and reverse harbourline tracks. Firstly you want to wait until you are on the long straight, see the arch in the distance?

You want to go in there. Once you get in there, just drive around the flowers in the middle for about 15 seconds, then complete the race/event.

The trophy will unlock when you return to the Main Menu.

  • You placed first without using any Nitrous.

You will want to race by yourself in 'Face-to-Face Battle' or 'Online Battle'. That way you will always come first. Just don't use the nitrous at all and the trophy will unlock when you return to the Main Menu. If you touch R or (Depending on your control scheme,) the trophy won't unlock.

Secret trophies

  • You beat the legendary Angel Car in all races.

After beating the Crinale, you have the option for Archangel races. Select Duel Race again and you'll now see an option entitled 'Archangel' on the right. You now have the option to race on three of the forward tracks. Select any one you want. I highly recommend using Team Vision. This feature allows somebody's ghost to race the first two laps then you race the last. All you will want to do is find a really good time on the selection and use that. For the last lap, just stay ahead and block the car. It's very fast and will overtake if you even muck up in the slightest. I however didn't use Team Vision and did them all myself. Here's the settings that I used:

    • Car: MELTFIRE (DLC car, free with gold pass) and Crinale

    • Group A: Ultimate Charge.

    • Group B: Flex Nitrous.

    • Group C: +150 nitrous on last lap.

That's what worked best for me. Reason I didn't use Team Vision was because people used cars and upgrades that I didn't like. Here's some general track tips:

Harbourline 765: This was very easy for me, as it's my favourite track. If you can get ahead you should win, providing that you don't muck up. If you're having trouble, just use Team Vision. He only has 2 nitrous and he uses both on the first lap. Just stay ahead to win.

Highland Cliffs: This was a total nightmare for me, so I highly recommend it on Team Vision. I had to change Group A to auto rocket start as you have to be ahead of him before the sharp turns or he will boost and you will never catch up. If you can get ahead and you don't mess up, you will win. I also used the Crinale here as the other one is too drift happy for my liking.

Southbay Docks: This is easy. Make sure to use the Crinale and the upgrades that I suggested and you'll be fine. Just slipstream him whenever you can on the long straights and boost just before corners to get Ultimate Charge. For the big jump, make sure to take your finger off whilst you're near the top as it can glitch and you fly so far you smack the wall.

Trophy unlocks after beating all three tracks by coming first place. If you want to re-gift the Devils Gift to somebody else, make sure to turn Devil Mode back on in the options.

  • You beat the legendary Devil Car in all races.

As soon as you receive the devils gift from somebody online, the Main Menu will change to a red colour and the music will change. You will notice a new mode has appear called 'Duel Race'. Select that and you'll see an option entitled "Crinale." You then have the option to race on three of the reverse tracks. Select any one you want. I highly recommend using Team Vision. This feature allows somebody's ghost to race the first two laps then you race the last. All you will want to do is find a really good time on the selection and use that. For the last lap, just stay ahead and block the car. It's very fast and will overtake you if you muck up in the slightest. I however didn't use Team Vision and did them all myself. • Group A: Ultimate Charge.

    • Group C: +150 nitrous on last lap.

That's what worked best for me. Reason I didn't use Team Vision was because people used cars and upgrades that I didn't like. Here's some general track tips:

Harbourline 765 - R: If you can get a rocket start and get ahead of him on the first corner, that is great. You will then want to pray for luck when he uses nitrous. Hopefully, he will smack into the back of your car and lose acceleration rending his nitrous useless. He will use nitrous again on the long straight just after, do the same as before. He only has 2 nitrous and he uses both on the first lap. Just stay ahead to win.

Highland Cliffs - R: This was a nightmare for me, highly recommend this on Team Vision. For the first part, just stay ahead of him and for the bit with the grass, just make sure you don't go in it. He will use boost at the end of this so get ready to block. If he passes you, then restart. You will want to boost here and get away from him so he can't slipstream as much. He will use boost again just before the sharp left corner, so remember to block. If you block both, you'll have a good chance of winning providing that you don't mess up too much.

Southbay Docks - R: This was the only one I did in Team Vision as I couldn't navigate the chicanes quickly enough. Just race as best you can on the last lap, as the ghost will drive you well on the first two laps. Just drift and take the last turns perfect or he will overtake you.

Trophy unlocks after beating all three tracks by coming first place.

  • You received the Devil's Gift and now Ridge Racer and Reiko took on a whole new look...

Note: This is automatically sent by somebody, they don't have to do anything but have devil mode enabled themselves.

You receive the gift from somebody online racing with the Crinale car who still has devil mode on. Most people have the gift now, so just race online until you receive it. You have to complete an offline race and it will then enable devil mode on the menu. You can also get the gift by racing with a Crinale Ghost time in ghost battle. Trophy unlocks when introducing the new menu.

  • You regifted the Devil's Gift to another racer on PlayStationNetwork.

Note: This is automatically sent by somebody, you don't have to press send or anything.

This is a tough one, as many already have the gift. The only way to gift it is by doing the above but for yourself. Just keep racing with Devil Mode on in the Crinale car and you will eventually gift it to somebody who doesn't have it. You cannot use the Archangel as far as I am aware of. Trophy unlocks after completing an offline race and returning to the Main Menu. Once you beat Archangel, Devil Mode will automatically turn off, so make sure to turn it back on it the 'Settings' menu.
