Introduction

Guess who's back? That’s right, our epic heroes Ratchet and Clank! Returning after four years is a traditional Ratchet and Clank game, the final game in the "Future" series. Into the Nexus features a brand new concept unseen before, the ability to manipulate gravity with the new Gravity Tether. Playing through the arenas can also be quite nostalgic for old returning fans of the Ratchet and Clank series. The Platinum is not very difficult as even when playing the game on "Legend" difficulty, it's still easy.

Walkthrough

Step 1: Complete the game.

Complete the game on Legend difficulty as the trophies in this game are stackable. If you do not want to play your first playthrough on Legend for whatever reason, feel free to choose the "Cadet" difficulty and come back to Legend once you are done upgrading all of your weapons and armor in a "Challenge Mode" playthrough. I say this because it will be much easier and faster as opposed to immediately playing on Legend but will overall make the time for a slightly longer. Do be advised that the Legend difficulty is not very difficult. Only the final boss may be a hassle but with some tips, he will not be too difficult. The Nightmare box makes completing this game a breeze through, as it is an over powered decoy device and works well against every enemy except for the final boss. Don't focus on any specific trophies in this playthrough, keep it short and simple. I advise you utilize any gun that you have and avoid purchasing the Plasma Striker, Mr. Zurkon, Vortex Grenade and the Netherbeast until the next playthrough. Especially try to purchase the Warmonger, as it is easily the second best weapon in the game after the RYNO VII. Make sure you switch the games control options to lock-strafe, as it makes the game much easier to both hit and dodge your enemies (jumping is the best way to dodge enemies). In this playthrough you should unlock:

Leap for Your Life
Thug Life
Sweet Justice
Shaky Truce
Into the Nether Region
Cross the Streams
A Walk in the Park
The Adventurer (If you choose to play on Hero or Legend)
The Legend (If you choose to play on Legend)

NOTE: Check the trophy guide below for more detailed instructions on how to unlock each individual trophy.

Step 2: Complete the game on Challenge Mode

Complete the game in "Challenge Mode". This mode will be available immediately after you complete the game on any difficulty. It will appear in the main menu. In Challenge Mode, you are able to reselect the difficulty, meaning if you already completed the game on Legend, select the difficulty to Cadet, and if you chose not to do Legend on your first playthrough, do it later after you collect every other trophy, as it will make Legend much more easier with the RYNO VII fully upgraded (the strongest weapon). Everything in this mode, except for your gadgets and vault keys, will transfer over into your new file. You will also be able to increase your Nanotech to a higher extent, level up your weapons to a higher extent, and purchase the Nether Armor. Featured in this mode is a chance to get up to ten times the normal amount of bolts you would get with the bolt multiplier. The more kills you get with out getting hit, the higher your bolt multiplier will be, however, if you get hit your multiplier will reset to 0. This is extremely convenient because in order to achieve the will need a little over 5,000,000 bolts to purchase everything. In this playthrough, Make sure with each and every new enemy you encounter, you scare him with the Nightmare box for the Your Worst Nightmare trophy. In this playthrough you should unlock:

Precious Metal
Greed
Your Worst Nightmare
The Show Off

NOTE: Check the trophy guide below for more detailed instructions on how to unlock each individual trophy.

Step 3: Complete all of the Cups in tournament, find all Gold Bolts, RYNO VII Plans, and vault keys.

In the same file that you completed Challenge Mode in, complete all of the tournament cups, including the Platinum Cup (although there is no trophy for the Platinum Cup, it is useful for levelling up weapons and earning bolts). That means once you complete the game again, do not create a new game, select Continue from the main menu. In order to acquire the Treasure Mapper, you must complete the Gold Cup. The Treasure Mapper will make collecting all Gold Bolts, RYNO plans, and vault keys easier. The reason being if you are in a planet where you have not found a certain collectable yet, it will appear on your map when you press the select button. You will need the RYNO VII plans due to the fact you will need to upgrade all 12 weapons in the game for the Up Your Arsenal trophy. In this step you should earn:

Thug Rookie
Thug Champion
Vault Cracker
Gold Rush

NOTE: Check the trophy guide below for more detailed instructions on how to unlock each individual trophy.

Step 4: Grinding; Purchase all weapons, level up all weapons to level 6, purchase all armor.

After collecting everything, head back to Kragg to begin upgrading your weapons for the Up Your Arsenal trophy, and to acquire bolts in order to buy each weapon and armor. I highly recommend you do both at the same time, as it will save a lot of time. Purchase the Nether armor last, as it is the most expensive item in the game. You should not be too concerned with dying. The goal is to not take damage so you can keep your bolt multiplier running. Also get the Exterminator trophy while you are at it. In this step you will unlock:

In Case of Zombies
Armored and Dangerous
Going Commando
Up Your Arsenal
Exterminator

NOTE: Check the trophy guide below for more detailed instructions on how to unlock each individual trophy.

Step 5: Complete Legend (If you have not done this yet):

Complete the game on Legend difficulty through a new Challenge Mode file. Now that you have acquired all the armor and weapon upgrades, this should be much easier especially because of the fully upgraded RYNO VII being extremely powerful. If you are doing this step then you should earn:

The Adventurer
The Legend

NOTE: Check the trophy guide below for more detailed instructions on how to unlock each individual trophy.

23 trophies ( 4  )

  • Collect every trophy in Ratchet & Clank: Into the Nexus.

Just like any other Platinum, earn all of the other trophies in this game to unlock.

  • Beat the game on Cadet difficulty.

    Note: The difficulty trophies stack.

You have to complete the game on at least Cadet to unlock this trophy.

  • Beat the game on Hero difficulty.

    Note: The difficulty trophies stack.

You have to complete the game on at least Hero to unlock this trophy. You must begin a playthrough on either Legend or Hero and cannot switch the difficulty at any point of the game. Challenge Mode counts as well.

  • Beat the game on Legend difficulty.

    Note: The difficulty trophies stack.

Legend difficulty is not very difficult, even though it is the hardest that this game has to offer. Once you purchase the Nightmare Box it will make the game much easier (as it will will be one of the first weapons that will be available from the vendor). The Nightmare Box is a decoy glove that, when used, releases a decoy which scares and distracts all nearby enemies and gives you the opportunity to shoot them with ease. The decoy will last a significant amount of time before being destroyed, it even works on all of the bosses in the game except for the final boss. The final boss will make this weapon almost useless as he will quickly destroy any decoy you throw out, that makes him the only challenging part about the Legend difficulty.

For tips on how to beat him, see Crossing the Streams. It is very important in this playthrough, if it is your first, that you upgrade your weapons at a vendor using raritanium and upgrade your armor whenever possible. Playing with the control settings of Lock-Strafe is crucial as well. A great way to dodge most enemies in this game is by simply jumping away from their attacks. I recommend the guns that you rely on if you are playing on Legend in your first playthrough are all except for the Plasma Striker, Mr. Zurkon, Vortex Grenade and the Netherbeast. In-game challenges become more difficult as well, such as the Netherverse segments and the Cup challenges. If you aim for this trophy while in a Challenge Mode playthrough, it will be much easier as you can have the RYNO VII fully upgraded. You must begin a playthrough on Legend and cannot switch the difficulty to Cadet or Hero at any point of the game.

  • Beat the game in Challenge Mode.

Challenge Mode is available after completing the game once. It can be accessed from the main menu. When playing in Challenge Mode, everything from your previous file, except for your gadgets and vault keys, will carry over. You will have a chance into increase the limit of how much nanotech (health) you have, increasing the capacity to a maximum of 200 rather than the 100 in the original playthrough. The Nether armor will also be available in an armor vendor, which is required for the Armored and Dangerous trophy. The level limit for each weapon will increase to a capacity of level 6. Once you level up a weapon to level 3, an omega version of that weapon will be available at a vendor machine. Also included in Challenge Mode is the Bolt multiplier. You will have a chance to make up to ten times the amount of bolts you normally would, making bolts much more easier to earn. If you get hit, however, your bolt multiplier will reset. The enemies will also grow stronger as you become stronger; inflicting much more damage and have much more health.

  • Win the Destructapalooza Bronze Cup.

    Story related, cannot be missed.

The Bronze Cup will be available to play in right after you complete planet Yerek. There are four challenges in the Bronze Cup.

You will need the GummelNet Jetpack upgrade in order to complete planet Silox, which is awarded in the final challenge of the Bronze Cup.

  • Win the Destructapalooza Silver Cup.

The Silver Cup will be available right after completing the Bronze Cup. Just like the Bronze Cup, it is very simple. You are given an massive amount of time to allow for multiple mistakes during the timed challenges and the ones that require you to kill enemies are extremely easy. In order to save time I recommend you do this cup on a Challenge Mode playthrough on Cadet. In the final challenge of the Silver Cup, "Gargathon Hunter", you will receive a Gold Bolt which is required for the Gold Rush trophy.

  • Win the Destructapalooza Gold Cup.

Just like the previous two Cups this one is very easy. I strongly recommend you complete the Gold Cup in a Challenge Mode playthrough, as you will unlock the Platinum Cup after completing the Gold Cup. Both of these Cups have challenges that will help drastically speed the grind of getting Bolts and levelling up your weapons. Completion of the first challenge, "Doom Canyon", will give you a Gold Bolt which is required for the Gold Rush trophy, completion of the second last challenge, "Return of the Mangler", will give you a RYNO VII plan which is required for the Up Your Arsenal trophy and completion of the final challenge in the Gold Cup called "The Bigger They Are" will give you the Treasure Mapper which is very helpful for finding the Gold Bolts, RYNO VII Plans and is crucial for the Vault keys. Whenever you are in a planet which you have not found any of the collectibles, when pressing select, the Treasure Mapper will make it so they will appear on your map, revealing the locations of any collectible you are missing. The Gold Cup will become available after you discover the location of planet Iglak.

  • Unlock the vault on planet Thram.

Before approaching this trophy, I strongly recommend you acquire the Treasure Mapper. See Thug Champion for more information on how to obtain the Treasure Mapper and what it does. There are a total of six keys for the vault which are each located in planet Thram. There are two keys that are just lying around, three that require you turn a bolt and power a generator, and a key which you need to collect each of the Gargathon Horns and give them to the Smuggler, which is why I highly recommend the Treasure Mapper, as it will show all locations in the planet that contain unattained Gargathon Horns. For the keys that require you power a generator, once turning the bolt, a Battery Bot will spawn in a specific area (it will show the location of the Bot in a short cutscene). You must quickly acquire the Battery Bot and throw it in the generator that appeared when you turned the bolt with your wrench, as there is a timed limit in which you must power the generator.

Each of the keys can be obtained at any order except for the key which the Smuggler gives you for acquiring all of the Gargathon horns. Once you have obtained the other 5 keys approach the vault (which is located in the central area where the Smuggler and the vendor are) and a cutscene will automatically play where the Smuggler proposes the offer after obtaining each of the other five keys. You also will require the vault to be unlocked once you find all of the RYNO VII plans, as the vault will be where you will create your RYNO VII. If you are having trouble with getting back into the water tunnel in Silox for the plan, see Gold Rush for info on how to get back into the tunnel. I have provided a video for both the RYNO plans and the vault keys.

  • Purchase all weapons.

There are a total of 9 different weapons to be purchased. Here is a list of each weapon, their price and location of when first available.

    • Temporal Repulsor - 10,000 Bolts - Planet Yerek
    • Nightmare Box - 15,000 Bolts - Planet Yerek
    • Winterizer - 30,000 Bolts - Planet Kragg
    • Mr. Zurkon - 20,000 Bolts - Planet Kragg
    • Plasma Striker - 45,000 Bolts - Planet Silox
    • Nether Blades - 16,000 Bolts - Planet Silox
    • Vortex Grenade - 75,000 Bolts - Planet Thram
    • Warmonger - 70,000 Bolts - Planet Thram
    • Netherbeast - 85,000 Bolts - Planet Iglak

You certainly will not be able to afford these on your first playthrough but easily in a Challenge Mode playthrough. For information on how you should earn Bolts, see Greed for more information.

  • Purchase all armor.

This is only possible on a Challenge Mode playthrough. There are three different armors in this game to purchase. Here is a list of each armor, their price and location of when first available.

    • Thug Armor - 10,000 Bolts - Any armor vendor
    • Terachnoid Armor - 70,000 Bolts - Planet Iglak
    • Nether Armor - 1,500,000 Bolts - Available only in Challenge Mode at any vendor after purchasing the other two armors.
  • Upgrade 1 weapon to level 6.

This is only possible on a Challenge Mode playthrough, see Up Your Arsenal for more details.

  • Upgrade all weapons to level 6.

There are 12 guns in this game; each must be upgraded to level 6. In order to exceed the limit of weapons only being able to upgrade to level 3, you must play on a Challenge Mode file. After a certain weapon is at level 3, an Omega (Ω) version of that weapon will be available at any weapon vendor. Each Ω weapon will require a Gold Bolt as well. The first thing you want to do is fully upgrade (upgrade through a vendor using raritanium, not level up) each of your guns as much as you can, as it will increase its power, ammo and give off much more bolts when you kill enemies. The fastest way to upgrade all of the weapons except for the Plasma Slayer, RYNO VII and Singularity Grenade is by constantly playing the "Iron Lombax" challenge in the Platinum Cup. I recommend when levelling up your weapons, you prioritize the weaker guns first like the Zurkon Family and the Netherfiend. The Terrorizer should not be stressful because you will be trying your best not to get hit while levelling up your weapons, because you will lose your bolt multiplier and you will need a lot of bolts before being able to purchase all required armor and weapons.

If you attempt to level up the Plasma Slayer, RYNO VII or the Singularity Grenade in the same challenge as the rest of the weapons, then it will take a significant amount of time. Because of that I recommend you upgrade these weapons in the challenge, "The Bigger They Are", which can be located in the Gold Cup. The spawns of enemies are particularly fast after you damage the Progbot a bit. For these three weapons, except for the RYNO VII, prioritize killing the enemies while hitting the Progbot at the same time as it will be an extremely fast way to level up your guns. For the RYNO VII, just focus on killing the Progbot.

Note: If you level up your weapons at the arena, the trophy will not unlock there. What you need to do is fly to any other planet, get a kill and the trophy will pop.

Here are the prices of each Ω weapon:

    • Ω Dual Omniblasters - 40,000 Bolts
    • Ω Fusion Bomb - 50,000 Bolts
    • Ω Quantum Repulsor - 60,000 Bolts
    • Ω Terrorizer - 90,000 Bolts
    • Ω Progblades - 120,000 Bolts
    • Ω Zurkon Family - 150,000 Bolts
    • Ω Blizz-o-Matic - 180,000 Bolts
    • Ω Plasma Slayer - 300,000 Bolts
    • Ω Peacemaker - 360,000 Bolts
    • Ω Singularity Grenade - 420,000 Bolts
    • Ω Netherfiend - 480,000 Bolts
    • Ω RYNO VII - 1,000,000 Bolts
  • Collect all Gold Bolts.

There are 12 Gold Bolts scattered throughout the game. I recommend you use the Treasure Mapper to find the Gold Bolts. For more information on the Treasure Mapper and how to obtain it, see Thug Champion for more information. There are 2 Gold Bolts in each planet except for Yerek which contains 3. Please note that you may return to any planet in order to find the Gold Bolts, so I recommend you begin hunting for these once you complete the game, as you will have easy access to any area in the game which contains a gold bolt. Also, to clarify the issue about the Gold Bolt in planet Silox that is inside the water tunnel that floods being unattainable. The way you can regain access to the tunnel is by simply turning all of the nodes you originally turned to get into the tunnel again. I have provided a video with locations of each of the 12 Gold Bolts:

  • Collect 1,000,000 bolts over the course of the game.

This will come naturally in any Challenge Mode playthrough as you receive a bolt multiplier that will multiply the bolts you receive by up to ten times the original amount, depending on what your chain of kills is without getting hit. The fastest and best way to save time on getting bolts is by constantly playing the "Iron Lombax" challenge in the Platinum Cup, this is because you will get around 50,000-60,000 bolts each time you complete it depending on how well you perform on not getting hit. It is also a great way to level up your weapons at the same time which is the main reason why I recommend it. Alternatively you can keep running through the game if you find constantly playing the same challenge boring. The total amount of bolts it takes to purchase everything in the game is around 5,000,000.

  • Scare at least one of every type of enemy using the Nightmare Box.

Because there is no real way to track who you have scared, the best you could do is use the Nightmare Box each time you think you encounter a new enemy. This also includes bosses, in both the Cups and main storyline. If done correctly, you should receive this when fighting the final boss. Just like every other trophy, the progress of this one carriers over through each new playthrough. I have provided a video with the locations of each type of enemy that can possibly be scared:

  • Collect 200 raritanium over the course of the game.

You will naturally get this towards the end of your first or the beginning of your second playthrough. By the time you obtain your Platinum Trophy, you will most likely have obtained about 3 or 4 times the required raritanium for this trophy. Raritanium can be used to enhance your weapons at any weapon vendor and is extremely useful.

  • Beat Pest Control with just the Omniwrench.

This trophy is not difficult at all, just hyper-strike (jump then press ) all of the craters that give off the crab looking enemies, and then just do a normal hit on the rest of the crabs. Make sure you are on Cadet difficulty when aiming for this trophy as you will have up to a minute to finish the challenge, opposed to the reduced times on the others. I have also provided a video for this trophy:

  • Complete all Netherverse segments.

    Story related, cannot be missed.

There are in total six different "Netherverse" segments in the game. The Netherverse segments are when you enter a rift and use Clank to try to open a blocked area from another world. The harder the difficulty you are playing on, the harder the challenges. None of these are very difficult; just remember that with movable objects, whatever direction Clank is facing, the object (if possible) will move in the same direction as well. There are a total of six segments. here are the locations of each segment.

    • 3 segments on planet Yerek
    • 1 segment on planet Silox
    • 2 segments on planet Iglak

This will unlock when fighting the Nether Leader, Mr. Eye, at the end of the game.

Secret trophies

  • Grav-Leap to the Thug ship circling the Nebulox Seven.

    Story related, cannot be missed.

You will earn this trophy after completing Nebulox 7, the first area in the game.

  • Defeat Neftin Prog.

    Story related, cannot be missed.

You will earn this trophy after defeating the boss in Silox, Neftin Prog. You will see him shortly after completing a Netherverse segment and go up an elevator.

  • Form an alliance with Neftin Prog.

    Story related, cannot be missed.

Once you find the locations for planet Iglak on planet Thram, this trophy will unlock.

  • Defeat the Nether Leader and banish his kind.

    Story related, cannot be missed.

This is the final boss of the game. If you are playing on Legend difficulty and on your first playthrough, he could become a hassle. The Nether Leader, Mr. Eye, has three segments in his fight. The final segment of course is the most difficult of the fight, this is mainly because he will spam enemies and attack you at the same time. If you see him throw both of his arms down the small platform you are standing on, he is getting ready to shoot his laser so be prepared to jump over the laser in order to dodge it. When he raises one arm back and slams your platform really fast he is going to smash the area of the spot you last stood on, meaning you will have to be moving while uses this attack. He tends to use this when you are standing near an edge of the platform. If you see him move his arm back slowly, he probably is getting ready to do a quake attack which you must dodge by jumping over the impact he creates when he slams the platform. Whenever Mr. Eye creates enemies make sure to use your Nightmare Box, otherwise it might be impossible to dodge both his hits and the enemies. Do not forget to upgrade your weapons and armor as well.
