Welcome to Pocket RPG. A classic RPG game, where you can play as either a ranger, a magician or a warrior. You have to complete quests, which contain numerous maps within them. However, here's the twist. Every time you complete a quest, and progressively move onto the next one, you are stripped back to your bare starting weapons, and have to collect better equipment all over again! This makes it all the more challenging. The only thing you get to keep are your Skills and Armoury upgrades, which can be upgraded with points you earn from levelling up.

Step 1: Start your first play-through with the Darkranger

You will have 3 characters which you will need to complete the same quests with separately. All 3 are fairly similar in power, however it is best to start off with the Darkranger, so you can become familiar with using a long-range weapon (as you will with the Battlemage) but also learn how to best circle enemies (round them up if you will) and kill them. If you are finding any of the quests tricky to complete, then you can change your difficulty setting to Easy. This will not affect you earning any of the trophies.

You can potentially earn 6 trophies straight off from your first quest. However, whilst ensuring you have killed every enemy, destroyed all breakables, looted all chests and discovered the secret wall, you may just miss out on completing the 3 maps in the first quest within the 15 minute time limit, which is required for the 15 Minutes Of Fame trophy. If you do miss out, you can simply speed-run the first quest on your second play-through with your next chosen character.

The other 5 trophies that you should get quite easily in the first quest are:

Destructive Habits
Gladiator
Explorer
Treasure Hunter
Stupid But Brave

Upon completing your first playthrough of the 5 main quests, you will achieve the Dragon Quencher and Darkranger Award trophies.

Step 2: Complete your second play-through with the Blademaster

The Blademaster, as you may have guessed, wields swords as his preferred choice of weapon. The Blademaster is also the easiest of the 3 characters to use, as you can simply button mash enemies with his attacks, unlike the Darkranger and Battlemage, which require R-Stick aiming.

You will want to have put your enemy rounding up skills into good use here, as you will be in line for more damage when up close attacking your enemies. Whilst completing your Blademaster play-through, you will want to also go for the 50 enemy kill spree, along with levelling up 10 times in one map. Both of these can be done with the Darkranger, however your arrows auto-lock when shot in the direction, which could jeopardise your kill spree attempt (see the Guide for details), therefore it's recommended to do so with the Blademaster, as you are in complete control of your weapons. By successfully doing aforementioned, you will unlock:

Blademaster Award
Overachiever
Chaos God

Step 3: Complete your final play-through with the Battlemage

The Battlemage is arguably the hardest character to complete the game with. Not only do your long-range magic spells require you to move from the centre for every shot (unlike the Darkranger, which you can just hold in any direction and it will constantly fire arrows) but your attacks also need to charge each time before fired. The longer you hold before release, the greater the charge and therefore increased power

Having played the same 5 quests, twice over already with 2 different attacking approaches, you are prepared as best as you possibly could be to complete the game with the Battlemage. Completing your last play-through will unlock:

Battlemage Award
Multitalented

  • Complete the game with each hero class

You do not need to complete all of the quests to complete the game, you simply have to complete all 5 of the main quests. You do not need to complete 'The Snake Brothers' or 'The Mind of the Swarm'. You will complete the game and be awarded each respective trophy, after you have defeated the dragon boss at the end of quest 5.

It isn't overly difficult to complete all 5 main quests, especially when you have a moderate amount of your Skills and Armoury upgraded. The game is automatically set on Normal difficulty so if you are still finding stages of quests tricky to complete, you can simply change the difficult to 'Easy' from the options on the main menu. This will not affect any of the trophies. Each play through should really only take you around 2-3 hours maximum, although you'd halve that time easily if you opt to avoid killing the majority of monsters in each quest. Some general tips to take advantage of for each character:-

    Blademaster:

As you will have to get up close and personal to every enemy with your swords, you will need to try and resist taking as many damage as possible, especially with boss fights. All the bosses for each quest have a slightly slower turning circle than you, therefore you can take advantage of this by attacking them from behind, where you cannot be attacked.

The best attack to utilise throughout, which is purchasable from your skills list, is the 'Whirlwind'. Pressing 4 times quickly will make you spin around with your swords, inflicting multiple hits. you can simply button mash through levels with this skill, storming through enemies. If you choose not to use it so frequently, remember it can come in particularly handy when you find yourself surrounded by multiple enemies. It may just save your life.

    Darkranger:

With the Darkrange, you have the benefit of keeping your distance whilst shooting down your enemies with arrows. Take the advantage of this benefit, running wide circles around your enemies rounding them up, and shooting them down one by one. Going in gung ho into a pack of enemies with the Darkranger is never going to end well. The most useful skill move you will want to purchase and use with the Darkranger, is 'Wave of Arrows'. This skill will allow you to shoot multiple arrows at once, by pressing . It has a 3 second cool-down time before you can re-use it but it's recommended to just keep spamming to ensure you use your Wave of Arrows as frequently as possible. It's most effect when faced with large swarms of enemies.

    Battlemage:

Similarly to the Darkranger, you will have the benefit of being able to attack your enemies from a distance so make the most of this to avoid taking large amounts of damage from enemies. The fire variation of magic is fairly weak, especially when up against more difficult enemies and bosses. You will want to try your best to stick with the ethereal variations, which shoot out multiple balls of powerful magic.

The longer you hold the greater your magic spell is charged, therefore the power is increased. However, the difference in power between a short charge and long charged shot, alongside the time it takes to charge either one, the damage you will inflict on enemies in the same time-frame practically works out the same. If you find yourself getting overwhelmed by many enemies then don't hold out by waiting slightly longer to pull off 2 heavy shots and potentially die, when you could just pull off 3 quick shots that are equally as damaging.

In relation to the aforementioned about charging your spells, one of the skills you will want to buy, sooner rather than later, is the 'Quicker Spells'. Having this allows you to fire the short charge spells 100% faster.

  • Break 90% of all the objects in a quest

You can get this in your first quest, 'Trouble With Slimes'. Simply smash everything in the map (boxes, lights/lanterns, pots etc..) and you will get the trophy after you complete the third and final level in the quest. You will know if you are on track, as after each map in the quest, you get a stats summary page come up, which shows you how many items you looted (breakable items + chests).

  • Kill all the monsters in a quest

This is easiest done on the first quest, 'Trouble With Slimes'. Do not rush through the 3 maps, wait for all enemies to spawn, wipe them out then move onto the next area of the map. Sometime enemies may get stuck behind breakable objects, so be sure to double check each area before you move on. Also make sure that you destroy all breakable objects, especially the crates, as there are leeches that hide in them that count towards the trophy.

  • Beat the fire dragon boss

You will get this upon completing 'The Dragon's Lair', which is the 5th quest if you stay on the straight path, without taking the alternative routes on the quest map. The dragon is the boss in the final level and isn't all that difficult to defeat, especially since at the start of the boss level there are 2 chests that give you powerful weapons.

  • Level up 10 times in a single map

The best place to achieve this is during 'The Mind of the Swarm' quest. On the first map, you will come across bug-like enemies that spawn from hives, along with a dozen or so jelly enemies. These are great for XP and levelling up so long as you do not destroy the hives. You will level up 10 times fairly quickly.

  • Complete a quest in less than 15 minutes

You can get this fairly easily in the first quest, 'Trouble With Slimes', without even having to necessarily do a 'speed run'. However, just to be sure you do complete it in under 15 minutes, run through the majority of the 3 maps to reach the end bosses or only when killing all enemies are required to progress. You should complete the first quest around the 10 minute mark this way.

  • Find every secret in a map

You can do this on the first quest, 'Trouble With Slimes'. On the 3rd map of this quest, around halfway through you will find yourself in a large open room with a plain blue rug. Go to the far bottom right corner of this room, and break the wall and you will find a chest behind it. This is the only secret in the map so the trophy will pop as soon as you break down the wall.

  • Killing spree of 50 enemies

The best place to achieve this is during 'The Mind of the Swarm' quest. On the first map, you will come across bug-like enemies that spawn from hives, along with a dozen or so jelly enemies. These are great for XP and levelling up so long as you do not destroy the hives. You will level up 10 times fairly quickly.

  • Find more than 50% of all the treasure on the map

There are only a handful of chests in the first map of the first quest and so long as you open them all, you will earn this trophy halfway through the map.

  • Complete a quest using only your base weapons

This is easiest achieved on the first quest, 'Trouble With Grimes'. Your base weapons are what you start the game with so you will have to complete the 3 maps in the quest with just these weapons, without using any others you may pick up on the way. You can pick up weapons/amulets/rings from chests as this will not affect the trophy at all, it is only if you equip any of them it will then become void.
