Note: Two Day Trial
Criterion has granted those that rent or purchase the game new/used a online pass to play the game for 48 hours upon starting the online for the first time. If you know you wont be buying any of the DLC in the future the two day pass will be very useful if you just want to get the platinum.
Introduction:
From the developers of the Burnout series, Criterion has stepped up to the racing line to renovate, bring life and revive a dying arcade racing franchise known as need for speed. Need for speed: Hot Pursuit gives you the chance to drive as both a cop and a racer without losing any progress when switching between the two. In both careers you get weapons to use against the competition and the racers/cops that get in your way. This is an arcade game so as you progress through the game and earn bounty the weapons you use will last longer and be more effective when used. The cars unlock once you reach enough bounty points and the rank and wanted levels work the same. There is a new autolog mode integrated in the game, so you and your friends can compete with each other with challenges and other stuff.
Walkthrough:
Step 1: Single Player
Start your career as a racer or a cop. I would advise sticking with one of them until you have earned all golds/distinctions as one of them so there is no confusion on which ones you need to complete. Scroll to the bottom of the trophy guide to see which types of events you will have to compete in once you start your career. Once you have finished with either one go to the next one and complete it achieving the only 2 gold trophies in the trophy set. While you are playing the game most of the use each weapon at least once trophies will be achieved.
Step 2: The online
If you need a break or finished the Single player events, head on to the online component of the game. You will need the online pass (Which came with the game new) or you can use the 2 day online trial pass to get the online trophies. The trophies you are going for are;
- Festival of Speed
- Race
- Chase
- Escapologist
- Bounty Hunter
- Share the Joy
- Setting the Score
- Share the Dream
- Graffiti
- Socialite
- Midnight Cowboy
Step three: Mop up
This is when you go back to the offline to finish up the rank/wanted level trophies. Please see Most Wanted and Ultimate Enforcer for a few events that will help you earn bounty a little quicker. There are a set of trophies that you have to use certain vehicles and take pictures or win races with.
- Shaken, Not Stirred
- Wet in the Vette
- Imprezive
- Snakebite in Black
- Electrically Charged
- Flight of the Bumblebee
- Godzilla
- Iron Man

Introduction:
If you are looking for a reason to jump back into Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit, then this Super sports pack DLC is for you. EA has given us 13 new events, 3 new cars and 11 new trophies. While the patch revealed the location of the new events you will still need to buy the DLC from the NFS store or the PSN store to unlock the events. You will know the difference between the cars that came with the game and the DLC cars as they have the words super sports in the title, and on the bottom right side where the top speed and 0-60 information is. The DLC events haven't changed much, there is still the challenge of completing events with little to no gadgets and getting to the rapid response location without obtaining too many penalties. Lets start playing.
Walkthrough:
Step One: Single Player
There are 7 offline trophies and most if not all will come while going for distinction and gold in both the cop's and racer's events. As a racer use the GUMBERT Apollo S to wreck police cars whenever given the chance to. As a cop you will be driving a Porsche 911 GT2 RS. You will have 10 spike strips try to land (hit) 5 of them for a trophy. Once you get the Porsche 911 GT2 RS take a photo of it, you will come back to it later. Complete both the cop's and racer's event to complete the single player.
Step Two: Online
Check your autolog recommends in the main menu of the map (). Find an event that you have to beat and lets you use the Bugati Veyron 16.4 Super Sport, complete the event to obtain the Biteback trophy. Now with the photo you took earlier go to the main menu and upload that photo to achieve that trophy. Now this is when you go online to race against other people. Enter an Interceptor event with the Bugati Veyron 16.4 Super Sport and win. Then complete 5 online races with the GUMBERT Apollo S.
Step 3: Clean up
The only trophy you may have to go back for is Slip and Slide. You will have to complete a 1000 yard drift in one go. See the trophy Guide for more info.
NOTE: I started my campaign as a cop so most of the trophies will reflect this, and be labelled first as being able to earn them easier as a cop than as a racer. Happy and safe driving.
