Introduction

Welcome to Metal Gear Solid 4. It is back. One of the best games in the video game history has finally obtained a trophy patch after nearly 4 years since its release. This is one of the most awaited trophy lists amongst all PS3 games. The game puts you in the role of Solid Snake, who is in his final days while he is trying to finally settle the score with his brother Liquid and defeat the corrupted system off the Patriots. The game is a fountain of memories, as with every cutscene and area, you will find something related to the previous games of the series.

The trophies are not for the faint-hearted. Deceiving as it may seem in the beginning, the platinum trophy actually requires you to collect all 40 badges. This includes the infamous Big Boss emblem, which is said to be obtained only by really skillful players. Getting all the trophies will take approximately 80 hours since you will have to do at least 8 playthroughs. If you are up for the challenge, get yourself ready and dive into the world of this magnificent game.

Missable Trophies

Before I begin with the roadmap, I would like to make a short note regarding the missable trophies. I have posted that there are 18 missable trophies in the overview above. Some of them could and could not be called missable since you will be doing eight playthroughs for this platinum. Since the trophies above can be acquired at a specific part of the story and if you miss them, you will have to do another run, they will be marked as missable. However, technically, you have so many chances to get them, that they can be missed only if you really want to. Additionally, most of the trophies’ progress is transferred across playthroughs supposing you save each time at the same file when you complete a playthrough. The only missable trophy that you should watch out is the Flashback Mania one.

ROADMAP

**NOTE** If you want to enjoy the game, you are advised to aim for an emblem like Centipede for your first run as this emblem requires a more stealthy playthrough. For the sake of trophy hunting, the Chicken emblem has been posted up first. HOWEVER, if you want to aim for your first run to get 0 kills and 0 alerts, you are free to do so as you can also unlock the Bandana and the Stealth Camo which will be invaluable to the next runs. You may also want to approach the game differently anyway. So we will have two paths.

A) Trophy Wise - For veteran players

B) Story Wise - For new players

Roadmap A

Step 1: 1st Playthrough - Chicken, Flashbacks & Misc Trophies

To start with, the trophies are not retroactive, meaning that you will have to start a brand new game to get the trophies. You do not have to delete your old save, but you can't load that one to get trophies on it. You must start your game on a brand new save data created after the patch. Your first playthrough should be the one where you should get off the most time-consuming part of the game. Start the game on Liquid Snake difficulty. The Chicken emblem is your aim here. Among its many requirements, it needs you to have a total play time of 35 hours at least. You are going to take advantage of all these hours and get almost all of the trophies as well as more than half of the emblems. Kill almost every enemy you come across with, run around like a maniac to get easily spotted and die more than 50 times. Even when you complete most of the emblems' requirements, you will probably need a lot of hours to complete 35 hours of playtime. Take advantage of it and let Snake inside a barrel or a box, standing against a wall, prone for a necessary amount of time to get the rest time-related emblems. You can leave your PS3 on overnight or when you leave your house to do this faster. It is also the time that you will see all the cutscenes and enjoy the thrilling story of this game. The cutscenes add a total of 8 hours in your gameplay so it will lessen the pain of this run a bit. Your other aim in this run is to get the Flashback Mania trophy. Finally, apart from the cutscenes, aim to get as many weapons, iPod tracks, defeating the five bosses non-lethally needed for the SUNLIGHT trophy, getting most of the FaceCamos (especially during the Mission Briefings) and photographing the ghosts in Shadow Moses island. You can also get most miscellaneous trophies out of the way in this run.

STEP 2: 2nd Playthrough – Tarantula & Assassin

Now that we got rid of the most boring part and you have remembered the game, it’s time we knock off the remaining emblems. The emblems you will aim is the Assassin and Tarantula one. See the Emblem's Guide on how to get all emblems. Since you got the Chicken emblem in your previous run, you will now have the Corpse Camo needed for the I Just Don’t Fear Death trophy. If you have enough points, you can buy the Tanegashima in Act 5 for half a million points.

Trophies earned in this step:

Divine Wind
I Just Don’t Fear Death

Emblems earned in this step: 24/40

  • Tarantula
  • Assassin

Step 3: 3rd - 6th Playthrough – Getting some easy emblems

This step will be a long one since you will have to play the game four more times to acquire the remaining easy emblems. These are the emblems that all require a different combination of alerts, kills and continues until the end of the game. There’s really no difference in choosing which to get first or last, but the point is that you will have to play four times to get these emblems. In these playthroughs, you should get everything you may have missed, want it to be a specific trophy or weapons and iPod tracks. Finally, at this step you want to stock up on chaff grenades, and make sure you have obtained weapons like the Solar Gun. All of these are extremely important for the next step. Start by getting the Centipede one, if you haven't obtained it already and try to get 0 kills and 0 alerts. This way you will earn the Bandana and the Stealth Camo, two items that are extremely valuable to the next runs and will make them much easier. Make sure to get the rest of the weapons as well.

Trophies earned in this step:

Infinite ammo (Missable)
Stealth Camouflage (Missable)
I am THE expert on weapons (Missable)

Emblems earned in this step: 28/40

  • Spider
  • Centipede
  • Leopard
  • Jaguar

STEP 4: 7th Playthrough – Big Boss

For some people obtaining the Big Boss emblem will not be a big problem since they may have achieved it in the past, but for the majority this will be separating them from the platinum trophy. By obtaining the Big Boss Emblem you will also unlock at least 10 more emblems, so that's why all the remaining emblems were posted in this step. There's nothing more to say in this step other than to post a link of my walkthrough for the Big Boss emblem. Do not leave this step for the end. In order to get the Little Gray emblem, you need all 69 weapons. Unless you put some passwords to unlock the weapons, you must get Big Boss first in order to unlock the last four weapons. Little Gray won't unlock in this run because the weapons appear AFTER the emblem's screen. So you need to play the game one more time for that emblem.

STEP 5: 8th Playthrough

The tough part is done so go and get the last two emblems you need. This will be very very easy and it won't take more than 3 hours. When you unlock all the trophies, you will get this prestigious platinum. Conratulations!!

ROADMAP B

STEP 1: 1st Playthrough – Cutscenes and Centipede emblem

To start with, the trophies are not retroactive, meaning that you will have to start a brand new game to get the trophies. You do not have to delete your old save, but you can't load that one to get trophies on it. You must start your game on a brand new save data created after the patch. Your first playthrough should be the one where you should enjoy the game. Start the game on any difficulty you want. It is highly advised that you will see all the cutscenes and enjoy the thrilling story of this game if you haven’t played the game. Your main aim in this run is to get the Flashback Mania trophy. As far as the emblems are concerned, you shouldn’t worry for any of them except the Centipede one. Centipede was chosen, as the requirements for it is more of a stealth run, instead of a shooting one. You want to die 26 times or more to get this emblem out of the way. Don’t worry for the rest emblems as you have plenty more runs to get them all. Finally, apart from the cutscenes, aim to get as many weapons, iPod tracks defeat the five bosses non-lethally needed for the SUNLIGHT trophy, getting most of the FaceCamos and photographing the ghosts in Shadow Moses. You can also get most miscellaneous trophies out of the way in this run but since this is a playthrough to get familiarised with game, you better do them in another playthrough. Also make sure to get Screaming Mantis' two dolls.

Stealth Camouflage (Missable)

Emblems earned in this step: 1/40

  • Centipede

You will most likely get some other emblems in the way but since the playthrough's aim was this emblem alone, only this will be posted in this step.

STEP 2: 2nd Playthrough - Chicken & Misc Trophies

Now that you have completed the game once, you are going to do the most boring part of the game. The Chicken emblem. Among its many requirements, it wants you to have a total play time of 35 hours at least. You are going to take advantage of all these hours and get almost all of the trophies as well as most miscellaneous and combat trophies. Kill almost every enemy you come across with, get easily spotted and die more than 50 times. At this point, you will probably have enough money to buy off some weapons that can only be purchased via the Drebin store. Even when you complete most of the emblems' requirements, you will probably need a lot of hours to complete 35 hours of playtime. Take advantage of it and get the rest time-related emblems. You can leave your PS3 on overnight or when you leave your house to do this faster.

Follow this Chicken Walkthrough to help you with the emblems in this run.

STEP 3: 3rd Playthrough – Tarantula & CQC

Now that we got rid of the most boring part, it’s time we knock off another two emblems. The Tarantula has been chosen as it is a perfect combination with the Assassin emblem. Since you got the Chicken emblem in your previous run, you will now have the Corpse Camo needed for the I Just Don’t Fear Death trophy.

Trophies earned in this step:

Emblems earned in this step: 25/40

STEP 4: 4th - 6th Playthrough – Getting some easy emblems

This step will be a long one since you will have to play the game three more times to acquire the remaining easy emblems. These are the emblems that all require a different combination of alerts, kills and continues until the end of the game. There’s really no difference in choosing which to get first or last, but the point is that you will have to play three times to get these emblems. • Obtained all trophies.

The legendary platinum trophy. Congratulations for obtaining all the trophies. It really is a valuable platinum!!

  • Killed many enemies in one area, and vomited.

When you kill more than 50 enemies in any act/area, a flashback will occur with Liquid from MGS1 telling Snake that he enjoys all the killing. This will result in Snake vomiting and losing a small part of his psyche. Do this trophy in a playthrough where you aim to get an emblem like Chicken, so there is no need to go out of your way for it. There are a lot of places where you can attempt this trophy, with the best places being the first two Acts. Specifically in Act 2: Solid Sun. When you reach the Vista Mansion area, where a huge bulldozer will go to crash the gate, you will find a lot of PMCs as well as Rebels. This is a good place to get the 50+ kills. If the PMCs aren’t enough, continue killing the rebels too. While the rebels won’t attack you if you let them be, they will shoot you, if you start attacking them. It doesn't matter what type of kills they are as long as you kill the enemies. That said even Stealth kills count for this trophy, although it will be hard to kill that many enemies unnoticed.

I have received some reports that people have killed more than 50 people in an act and didn't get the trophy. For me the flashback popped when I killed 50 people in an act and in the same area. So try killing all of them on one area.

  • Caused a "divine wind" using the Tanegashima.

The Tanegashima is a shotgun that looks pretty innocent at first sight. But it’s not. You will see this weapon at the Drebin Store with the ridiculous price of 1,000,000 Drebin Points. Unfortunately, there is no other way to get this weapon but to buy it from there. However, during Act 5: Old Sun, Drebin will put everything on his store on a 50% discount, so this is the best time to buy it for only 500,000 Points. You can also buy the weapon with a 20% on Wednesdays and Sundays at the price of 800,000 if you can’t wait that much. This discount will NOT apply on Act 5. The Tanegashima is not a good weapon as you may have thought because of its price. It has a 33% chance to create a “divine wind” which is like a hurricane, that will clear all enemies from the area and throw down all the items they carried. Note that this can be done only in an outside area. It won’t work inside. Simply use the weapon and hope you create the “divine wind” to unlock the trophy. According to Wolfwood, when you buy the weapon and start a new playthrough, when you get to the part in Act 1 that you find the drum barrel, you have a 100% chance to create a "divine wind". Credits to him for this information.

  • Held an enemy soldier at gunpoint and performed a body check.

When you find a lone soldier, sneak behind him and equip your gun. Once you are fairly close, hold down the button. This will result in the enemy raising his hands and be at your command. Let the button and press the button to do a frisk/body check. Whenever the Action Button shows up when you search him, press it to get the item. If you press the button while Snake has his hands on his crotch, he will knock the soldier out. After you have done this once, the trophy is yours.

  • Viewed all flashbacks.

Missable For the most people, this will be one of the most tedious trophies in the game simply, because you will have to watch almost every cutscene to view all the flashbacks. When you view a cutscene, most times an will appear at the top of the screen, that you have to tap. This will show you some flashbacks from the previous Metal Gear Solid games. The flashbacks that count are those that you have to tap into. That said, audio and gameplay flashbacks do not count for the trophy. Credits to elevenletters and BIG B0SS for this. This is noted as highly missable because if you miss this trophy, you will have to watch a big part of cutscenes again. When you reach the end of an Act, you will see that you will have a large number of flashbacks. These flashbacks show the number of you have pressed while viewing them. These are not related to the trophyat all. Below is a compiled list of all the flashbacks I could find: You CAN skip cutscenes when you go for the flashbacks even if the cutscene has a one. In that case, you can view a flashback and once you do, skip the cutscene to the next one. The flashbacks also stack across playthroughs. If you happen to miss one, you will get it on the next one when you view the missed flashback.

    5. At the cutscene where we first meet Liquid, at the point where his name appears and he is introduced.

    15. At the cutscene where you enter the city with the van Drebin is driving and get ambushed by Gekkos, when Naomi and Snake hold the monkey hand by hand.
    16. At the same cutscene when Raiden is introduced, takes down the Geckos and sheathes his katana.

    7. In the same cutscene, when you start to prepare for departure, Big Mama will comment "Nowadays, anyone with a computer can get a combat training". This is when the flashback appears. This is a pretty funny one as it actually shows you footage from the game.
    8. After the bike sequence, when Big Mama is injured. She will pull herself out of the piercing junk and the flashback will appear.
    9. Near the end of the same cutscene, when Snake gives Big Mama a weapon to protect herself, the flashback will appear when she says to him "Promise me".
    10. After defeating Raven and meeting with Big Mama again, when you are about to head off in the sewers, she will have a look at her destroyed bike and that's when the flashback appears.

    ACT 4

    1. During Mission Briefing. This is a little hard to point out. It is when Sunny is starting getting down the stairs and Snake and Otacon talks about the Patriots' AIs
    2. During Mission Briefing, when Snake is wondering about Liquid's plans. It's near the middle of the cutscene.
    3. When you get to Otacon's old office, after you put the password, Snake will look at the office for a bit and look at a closet.
    4. At the same cutscene, when Otacon tells Snake about Naomi having stolen his blood.

    10. At the very end of the Act, after you defeat Ray, at the part where Raiden comes to save Snake. From the moment Raiden mentions Rose, start tapping and do not stop until the cutscene ends. There are many hidden flashbacks here, meaning the will not appear in the screen. Credis to Zyrodra

  • Obtained the Solar Gun.

Missable To obtain the Solar Gun, you need to defeat the FROG Unit in Advent Palace, the Laughing Octopus, the Raging Raven, the Crying Wolf and finally the Screaming Mantis non-lethally. This means that you must deplete their Psyche bar and not their Health bar. The Psyche bar is the small, thin line below the Health. After you defeat them non-lethally, during the fight with their Inner forms, you will need to find a statue of these beauties. The FROG unit is an exception as their statue can be found only after you have defeated them. You will need to complete a playthrough with all 5 statues secured in your inventory in order to unlock the Solar Gun after the credits. You do not have to obtain all the statues in the same playthrough as long as you are saving the same, complete file every time you finish a playthrough. While you will need to defeat all the bosses non-lethally in one playthrough for the Big Boss emblem, it is advised to get this weapon prior to this playthrough as it will be very useful for Boss Extreme difficulty. The dolls can be found in the following locations

    • FROG Unit: Act 1, after the fight in the Advent Palace, you will find yourself in a garage. Look in a corner to your right and you will find it.
    • Laughing Octopus: Act 2, during the Beauty fight, it will be on one of the beds in the laboratory
    • Raging Raven: Act 3, during the Beauty fight, it will be on the highest floor of the tower.
    • Crying Wolf: Act 4, during the Beauty fight, it will be against the wall behind the starting point of the battle.
    • Screaming Mantis: Act 5, during the Beauty fight, it will be in the north corridor on the lower level of the computer room.

Refer to each boss’ respective trophy above for a strategy on how to beat them non-lethally.

  • Obtained all iPodĀ® tracks (excluding tracks obtained via password).

Missable This is the hardest trophy in the game. While it may seem like not a big deal at all with a first glance, two iPod tracks require you to get the Big Boss emblem and get all the emblems respectively. • Snapped at least 5 shots of ghosts on Shadow Moses Island.

Missable When you reach Act 4: Twin Suns, you will be at Shadow Moses Island, the place where the first Metal Gear Solid game took in. If you equip your camera, you will find ghosts standing in specific areas. You can find the Digital Camera during the Mission Briefings of Act 1 until Act 4. You need to control the Mk. II to get it from Sunny’s Desk. At some part during the briefing, you will have a two-windows perspective. You will see "Press Select for help" on the bottom of the screen. Press the button to switch to 1st Person Full Screen Mode, hit the button and then to control the Mk. II. Move it around with the Left Analogue Stick. There are 30 ghosts in total on Shadow Moses but you only need to photograph 5 of them. Note that until you take the picture, you won’t be able to see the ghosts. However, if you have obtained the Sorrow Doll from the battle with Screaming Mantis and started a new playthrough, you will be able to see them before you take the picture. • Took control of an enemy soldier's body using the Mantis Doll or Sorrow Doll.

Missable You can acquire these two Dolls during the fight with the Screaming Mantis at Act 5: Old Sun. After you have taken care of the controlled Meryl and the FROGs, shoot the two dolls Mantis has next to her. After a while, she will drop one of the dolls. Grab it quickly before she gets it again. Repeat with the other doll. Now when you go and meet an enemy in a new playthrough, put one of these dolls in your inventory and equip it. The Sorrow Doll has the power to control the dead bodies of the enemy, while the Mantis Doll will make the enemies shake like crazy dropping their items and killing them. Ready one of the dolls with the button and shoot with You have an infinite amount of shots, so don’t worry about having to get the dolls again. Once you have hit someone with the Mantis Doll, or a dead body with the Sorrow Doll, you will control them and unlock the trophy.

  • Controlled an enemy soldier's emotions using an Emotive Magazine.

The Emotive Magazines become available for purchase from Drebin’s Store from Act 2 and onwards. These magazines are just like Playboy magazines with the only difference that they feature the Beauty & The Beast Corps. Depending on the Beauty that is on the page, the PMC will have the Beauty’s representative emotion. So they can laugh from Laughing Octopus, rage from Raging Raven, cry from Crying Wolf and scream from Screaming Mantis. Just put down one of these magazines in front of a soldier’s path and when he looks at it, he will keep staring there. Remember that while you are in Alert, the magazines won’t have any effect on the enemies. This also works on Militia, however it doesn't in FROGs. Therefore, you must get this trophy before Act 4 or you will need to get it in a later playthrough.

  • Shocked an enemy soldier using Mk. II/III.

Shortly after you start the story, you will be able to control the Mk.II and after the beginning of Act 4: Twin Suns, the Mk. III. To use it, hold down the button and select the Mk. II. Equip it and activate the stealth camo so you can sneak on enemies easier. Once you are close to an enemy, press the button to aim and then button to electrocute him and receive the trophy.

The controls of the Mk. II/III are the following:

    • Left Analogue Stick: Move Mk. II/III
    • Right Analogue Stick: Control the Camera
    • Button: Activate/Deactivate Stealth Camo
    • Button: Aims/Readies Electric Shock
    • Button: Electric Shock
    • Button: Action Button
  • Knocked an enemy soldier flying using a Drum Can.

You acquire the Drum Can/Oil Drum during Act 1: Liquid Sun. You can equip it by holding the button and scrolling to the Drum Can. Once you equip it, Snake will get under it and he will cover himself from the enemies’ eyes. While you are in cover, if you press the button, Snake will drop the Drum and start rolling. Your goal is to hit an enemy while rolling with it to send him flying. Watch out though, as if you roll for a long period of time, Snake will stop and vomit from dizziness. This trophy can be done in many parts of the story with the best being right after you acquire the Drum.

  • Viewed all model posters.

Missable There are 4 posters in total. During Act 2: Solid Sun, while you are in the Vista mansion, you will find two posters of Akina Minami. You have to look at them with the button and in 1st Person View and Snake will say something in the words of “It’s Akina!” resulting in raising up his Psyche. One of them can be found at the second floor in the bedroom. You have to look all the way up to the ceiling to see it. At the first floor you will find two portraits as you go towards the stairs. The ones you need is where the walls become a bit narrow. Shoot the bigger one and you will reveal another poster. Continuing in Act 3: two more Akina posters can be found. The first one is in Midtown S Sector. This is a little tricky to find. From the point you start, continue following the Resistance member until you reach the park. From there, go to the right and continue following the park’s wall until you reach the north east part of it. Then you will see the poster behind a series of columns to the right. The other one is in Midtown Central Sector near the bridge. You need to climb the stairs to get up the bridge. The poster will be at one end of the bridge. Note that Snake MUST say something in the lines of “Akina”. If he doesn’t, you haven’t viewed the poster and you will miss the trophy.

  • Played Oishii Two-han Seikatsu and made one of the BB Corps dance.

First of all you don’t have to worry about the certain track, as you start the game with it. In total there will be four Beauty & Beast Corps fights, one in each Act starting from Act 2. When you have fought and defeated their Beast forms, you will have to fight their Beauty forms. During one of these battles, keep running and avoid the Beauty without taking her Psyche or Health out. After three minutes, you will see that the background is disappearing and there is just a white color everywhere. At this point, equip your iPod® by using the button and scrolling to that item and then start the track Oishii Two-han Seikatsu. When you return to gameplay, you will see that the Beauty is dancing. Shortly after, the trophy will unlock.

  • Used overhead view on Shadow Moses Island.

Missable This trophy can be acquired during Act 4: Twin Suns. In this Act you will return to Shadow Moses Island, the place where the very first Metal Gear Solid game took place in. When you reach the base and the helipad, you can choose to change the camera view to overhead by moving the camera with the right analogue stick over Snake’s head. With this view, start moving around a bit. This will result in Snake getting all nostalgic about the past and you unlocking a new trophy.

  • Defeated Laughing Octopus by non-lethal means, and obtained the Laughing Octopus Doll.

Missable Laughing Octopus is the boss you will face during Act 2: Solid Sun. See the spoilers below as it is part of the story.

The encounter will initiate after you have defeated the FROGs Unit that will appear in the laboratory. You must defeat her non-lethally. This means that you must deplete her Psyche bar and not her Health bar. The Psyche bar is the small, thin line below the Health.

As soon as the fight starts, run out of the room and take cover from her machine gun. When she stops shooting, fire at her with the Saiga-12. Using V-Ring will make it non-lethal. Never exit to the outer hallway immediately, as she may jump through one of the windows and deal damage to you. Wait a while and then go to seek her hiding place. Having the Night Vision activated will reveal her immediately as the stealth camo can’t protect her from that. Keep playing safely and follow this strategy to deplete her Psyche.

When the fight with the Beauty starts, head to the bed in the laboratory and you will get the doll.

  • Escaped the Haven Troopers in the Middle East by non-lethal means, and obtained the Frog Soldier Doll.

Missable The FROGs Soldier Unit is the boss you will face during Act 1: Liquid Sun. See the spoilers below as it is part of the story.

The encounter will initiate after you have met with the Rat Patrol Team 01 in Advent Palace. You must defeat them non-lethally. This means that you must deplete their Psyche bar and not their Health bar. The Psyche bar is the small, thin line below the Health.

During Act 1: Liquid Sun in the Advent Palace, you will fight the FROG Unit for the first time. These enemies leap all over the place and are very skilled with CQC so be very careful when you approach them. The Mk. II Gun is your best bet for this fight. On lower difficulties, the battle won’t be as hard. When you start the fight, go to the right wall and get non-lethal equipment, especially Stun Grenades and Sleep Gas Mines. From this point, you can run towards the enemy FROGs and knock them out with CQC or simply shoot them with the Mk. II. If they hang from the ceiling and they are pretty high from the ground, they will fall down and their health goes down. Strangely this doesn't count as kill. To be on the safe side, shoot them while not hanging. When you take the first of them out, more will appear. Take them out and quickly go downstairs. Equip a Stun Grenade and get ready to throw it at incoming enemies. Take out the remaining FROGs with the Mk. II gun. When the FROGs jump on the walls, take cover behind the wall before the doorway and take out the FROGs as they show up. When you reach the kitchen, you can throw a Smoke Grenade to stun the enemies for a while. Next, simply go to the bath and wait for the team. When the wall collapses, stun the rest FROGs. After the cutscene, throw a Smoke Grenade where the bulldozer will be and stun the rest.

After the fight, you will find yourself in a garage where you can find the doll.

  • Defeated Raging Raven by non-lethal means, and obtained the Raging Raven Doll.

Missable Raging Raven is the boss you will face during Act 3: Third Sun. See the spoilers below as it is part of the story.

The encounter will initiate after the bike sequence. You must defeat her non-lethally. This means that you must deplete her Psyche bar and not her Health bar. The Psyche bar is the small, thin line below the Health.

This is quite easy but can take a little time. Go to the top floor and fire a bit to the Sliders to make Raven come and glide in the air. Since she stays perfectly still, you can land a few shots on her. Watch out as if you take long enough, she will damage you with her Grenade Launcher. By destroying her Sliders, you will make her angry and when she’s angry, she forgets to reload giving you more time to shoot at her (conversation with Otacon in the codec).

When the fight with the Beauty starts, head to top of the tower to find the doll.

  • Defeated Crying Wolf by non-lethal means, and obtained the Crying Wolf Doll.

Missable Crying Wolf is the boss you will face during Act 4: Twin Suns. See the spoilers below as it is part of the story.

The encounter will initiate when you enter the Snow Field area. You must defeat her non-lethally. This means that you must deplete her Psyche bar and not her Health bar. The Psyche bar is the small, thin line below the Health.

The fight will take fairly long as this is a sniper battle. Always have your Night Vision active to keep searching for her. If you have purchased the Mosin Nagant, the fight will become easier, just avoid using it when there are FROGs nearby. At the beginning, you will find her always at the other side of the map. To find Wolf after that, use Night Vision and search somewhere far from her last place. Aim for the head. You can deplete 1/4 of her Psyche Bar if you get a headshot.

When the fight with the Beauty starts, turn around and you will find the doll behind you.

  • Defeated Screaming Mantis by non-lethal means, and obtained the Screaming Mantis Doll.

Missable Screaming Mantis is the boss you will face during Act 5: Twin Suns. See the spoilers below as it is part of the story.

The encounter will initiate after dealing with the FROGs inside the ship. You must defeat her non-lethally. This means that you must deplete her Psyche bar and not her Health bar. The Psyche bar is the small, thin line below the Health.

When the fight starts, use your Syringe to make her lose control of you. When she takes control of Meryl, shoot her with the Mosin Nagant or the Mk. II. Next, shoot at the two dolls next to her a few times and grab them before she does. Use the Mantis Doll to take control of her and just move the controller to beat her. Simple. You will see that both her Health and Psyche get reduced, but don't worry the doll will still appear.

When the fight with the Beauty starts, it will be in the north corridor on the lower level of the computer room exactly where you entered the room from.

  • Broke off the most important part of a statue.

Missable During Act 1 in Middle East, when you head to meet Otacon, you will enter an area called Red Zone. At the beginning of this area, you will see a statue. Climb up there and you will be given the option to press and hold the button. Snake will then hide and become a part of the statue grabbing the statue's genital organs!! Leave to get out of cover. Continue pressing the to enter and exit cover and eventually Snake will break "the most important part of a statue". Watch out as if there is an enemy close and sees you, you will enter the ALERT status. The trophy is listed as missable, but it is only technically one. Since the statue is right at the beginning of the game, you will easily get it if you start a new game.

  • Obtained the Bandana.

Missable The Bandana is a secret item that when equipped will grant you with infinite ammo as the trophy title says. In order to acquire this item, you will have to complete the game without killing a single person. This is pretty simple as long as you use non-lethal weapons (colored blue in the menus). I advise you to go for this trophy during your run for the Big Boss emblem as you will have to avoid killing anyone to get that emblem. Do not worry as you must not use this item while going for the Big Boss Emblem. Killing Gekkos and the Sliders in the Raging Raven battle do not count as killings as well as defeating the Beasts with lethal weapons. The Beauties DO count as kills though. See the walkthrough at the end of the guide for a run on Boss Extreme. You can alternatively buy it from Drebin for 5,000,000 points but you don’t want to spend that many points there.

  • Obtained the Stealth Camouflage.

Missable The Stealth Camouflage is a secret item that when equipped will give you the ultimate cover. It will make you literally invisible. In order to acquire this item, you will have to complete the game without getting in an ALERT status at all. This can be a little tough, so you should take your time while advancing through areas with enemies. I advise you to go for this trophy during your run for the Big Boss emblem as you will have to avoid being seen at all to get that emblem. Do not worry as you must not use this item while going for the Big Boss Emblem. See the walkthrough at the end of the guide for a run on Boss Extreme. You can alternatively buy it from Drebin for 5,000,000 points but you don’t want to spend that many points there.

  • Found a crop circle and heard a mysterious voice.

Missable During Act 2, after the fight with the Laughing Beauty, while searching for Naomi, you will come across a river. Go left before crossing it and you will soon find yourself in a strange area with circles in the grass. You will hear a flashback from Roy Campbell from Metal Gear Solid 2.

  • Piloted Metal Gear REX and screamed at your enemy.
