Introduction:
Killzone 2 is one of the most beautiful looking and handling shooters available on the PS3. As such, the controls are realistic and hard to use. The trophies will have you doing everything imaginable in the game from beating the game without dying to beating it on elite to even making it to the top 1% of the weekly leaderboards. This is one platinum that you are going to have to earn with sweat, blood, and tears. If you are ready for one hell of a platinum experience that will take ATLEAST a week of your time, then read on…
***THE FOLLOWING OUTLINE IS BASED ON BOOSTING, IF YOU DO NOT BOOST GOD HELP YOU***
Step 1: Run through Single Player on Easy without Dying
So this should be the first thing you do, play the game on easy. The reason I say easy is because any difficulty will unlock elite, you need to get the timed boss trophies which are very easy to get on easy, and the controls are hard to get used to. This time focus on getting as many of the combat trophies as you can, and any emblems and intel that you can find. There is a mission and checkpoint select as well so you don't need to worry about them quite as much as some other games. In addition to combat trophies, you want to try to avoid dying. The enemy A.I. is not that smart on easy and you should be able to clear most spots without dying, focus on headshots and letting your friends do the dying while you heal them.
Step 2: Checkpoint Select Cleanup Run
This is not an entire playthrough, you only need to look at where you have deaths and missing emblems and intel and select those points only. This shouldn’t take too long, but make sure you do this on easy. I suggest using a youtube video as they are the best tools for finding the intel. If you have any combat trophies that you missed clean them up here, you don’t want to be worrying about any trophy except for the "Heroic Survivor" when playing on elite. Once you’ve finished this it’s time for the longest step: Online play.
Step 3: Online trophies - No longer obtainable, due to server closure
Ok so you should have the majority of the trophies now but the ones that are left are anything but easy. For this step, you need to make sure that you have a week where you aren't doing too much so that you can focus on getting the top 1% trophy. Four of these trophies are like the top 1% and will come at the end. To start this process you first need to post in the appropriate boosting thread on the forums. Next, once you have a few partners( three people and yourself is usually the best number) you want to set up a private room at any map, whichever map you feel best about. You want to take turns having one person be the helghast and the rest being ISA. This is the easiest and quickest method to boost. Start out playing 8 matches of bodycount each, and headshot every person. This will give you two badges that boost the amount of points you get for each headshot kill. When all players have done the 8 short matches, change the format. You now want to keep the teams the same number, but the concept changes. Now you do bodycount to 100. Go for headshots and get as many kills as you can, and feel free to blow up bots in the process if it gets you points. You should take turns doing this until you are all in the top .8%, this gives you room to fall some but not out of the top 1%. Now you will be getting the rest of the online trophies. If you have the map pack dlc, or are planning on getting any of it, get it before you start the rest of this process.
Step 4: Ribbons are for Men Too…
Now that you are in the top 1% ( or the top .8% if you were smart) you need to start going for ribbons and medals. You should the match settings set to these settings
• Bodycount: 15 minutes, 100 kills
• Search and Destroy: 3 minutes
• Search and Retrieve: Capture Four
• Capture and Hold: 15 minutes, max points
• Assassination: 2 minutes
• Faction Balancing
• Locked
With these settings, you are set to get all ribbons quickly. During the bodycount phase, go for your combat related ribbons. During the Search and Destroy, have one person set a bomb and another defuse it. Do this again and the repeat for the other two people on the second go through of Search and Destroy. During Capture and Hold, capture an area and have one person get the ribbon for killing people while the other waits. Once the first person gets all of the points he needs, have his teammate do the same thing. For the Assassination, decide if the target lives or dies and kills him if he is to be killed. Make sure that faction balancing is on so that you can pair up to get the trophies faster and Lock it so that you don’t have random players ruin your boosting. Everytime the server updates, check to see where you are in the top 1% and if needed use the previous boosting formula to get back in there. See the ribbons for exact descriptions of what is needed to be done to obtain them so after you have gotten all the online trophies, it's time for the tough one.
Step 5: Balls of Steel
Are you ready for Elite mode? No, you aren’t. For Elite mode, you will die quickly and often so be prepared. This go through you aren’t trying to get any other trophies that you may have missed, you are only going for beating the game on Elite. You generally want to go for headshots and take cover as much as possible. The standard ISA assault rifle is the best bet as it has a green dot scope and is very useful. Make sure that you beat every level on this difficulty though, and don’t skip around. Unlike other games, you have to beat the entire game on elite for the trophy to unlock. Make sure that once you get to Radec that you are ready, he is one of the most annoying bosses you will fight. Once you beat the game on Elite, you should have the platinum if you’ve followed this guide. Congrats.

Introduction: As indicated in the overview, most of these trophies are quite easy. You can get all but two of them from the Napalm & Cordite Pack (the "Suljeva Conqueror" and "Arctower Conqueror" trophies) in unranked games playing against bots with no other human players. However, "Suljeva Conqueror" and "Arctower Conqueror" must be done in a ranked match and thus are a bit tougher and may take longer to get than the other trophies.
Step 1: First thing you'll want to do is get all the easy trophies out of the way. You can easily mop up 30 of the 32 DLC trophies in unranked bot matches. Each of the 6 new maps has its own set of trophies, so set up a custom match with only the map you want to work on, enough AI bot players to get the trophies you need, and a password to keep other players out is a good idea as well. Then just run down the list of trophies for that map until you have them all, and then move on to the next. Alternatively, you can get these in ranked games if you want, but it isn't necessary. Once you finish this step you should have only two trophies remaining.
To set up the custom matches for all of the trophies in this step, select Warzone from the main menu. Then select Play, followed by Create Game. From here, scroll down to one of the games marked with an icon that looks like a piece of paper with a corner folded next to them. If it's filled in, you have custom match settings saved there and can press to edit them. If it's empty, you can press to start creating a new custom match.
Step 2: All that remains now are the "Suljeva Conqueror" and "Arctower Conqueror" trophies. You cannot get these playing unranked matches, so that means you will have to play ranked matches against other people (adding bots to a match automatically makes it unranked). You can try to find a game in progress that is using these maps and join it, or create your own game and wait for people to join. From there it's just a matter of playing as best you can and hoping you dominate the other team.
Alternatively, you can boost. The first way to boost is to create a custom game that only has room for two players with no faction balancing, and all the game modes set to the minimum amount of time and objectives before they end. Get in your room and have your partner join, and make sure both of you are on the same team and launch the game. With no one on the other team you can easily win all of the game types except for Body Count, which will end in a draw. The second is to try getting multiple people together and have a large boosting room. Add a password to keep randoms out. The third is to create a clan for yourself and have your boosting partner(s) join this clan as well. Then create a match that does allow spectators and does not have a password, but also only allows members of your clan to join it. Thanks to Terminator and VanDeaM for detailing this method.
