  • worst trophy ever, also in other games where you have to collect things. I need 1 more shard so i decided to grab this guide but i got a feeling there is a missable shard at one of the first missions with Zeke on the bridge. cant find my way back so please tell me that this isn't a missable shard. I really don't want to collect 350 shards on my second playtrough! further more badass game going to get Infamous 2!
  • I don't think there's a missable one. There's an unmissable one though, which is the first one, which you get while returning to Empire City from under the bridge. (jusut after meeting Moya) so if you got that one you're good. Before this one, there aren't any Blast shards anywhere.
  • Can you get shards after you complete the game? Also I can't figure out how to get on that first bridge again either. The door will not open.
  • Once you leave this place for the first time...you can't come back. This is the first Shard you take in the game, and you can't continue playing unless you take it.So...there is no way you missed that. ;)
  • I think it's ridiculous that this is a bronze trophy. That is a lot of freakin' collecting.
  • There is no missable shard, shards in missions don't count just 350 shards spread over 3 maps. For people who got 349: after searching every corner of the streets in all 3 maps i realised that the map i was using was a little bit zoomed. When i used a different map i saw that i forgot the shard on the bridge where you destroyed Alden on the side of Historic District. It can also be on top of the high damaged building near the crater in Historic District.
  • i hate this trophy its a pain but i will do it i just need one more shard
  • This just takes time to do i am still looking for them
  • it makes me crazy that i cant find the last one
  • You should definitely get the first one (on the bridge in the beginning of the game) because if you don't, you can't go back to it. I saved the updated map (thank you map creator) in a paint file and just crossed off each shard as I picked it up. It took a while, but its way better than having to scour each of the three areas for that last shard!
  • My last blast shard was off the shore were you had to jump on poles to reach it. Theres 2 of these so attempt to search all of those poles in the ocean.
  • Well this sucks it takes a very long time and its just a bronze
  • The way I managed to get this trophy without too much of a headache, look for a map picture of where the shards are, use the paint program, and mark your path down, this made searching for the shards a lot easier and less stressful.
  • went with the guide and missed 3 along the way... cant wait to go back and find those
  • do i also need the shards from side missions?
  • @15 no you don't mate, the side mission shards do not count apparently.
  • the stupidest bloody trophy EVER. just to keep you playing this game, avarage game at that. please let me find the last shard so I can move on. please.
  • Still searching for 2 more shards... its my final trophy.
  • i hate this trophy. since the shards actually help your character you have to get them in both playthroughs. you can't just ignore them the second time through.
  • Worst trophy ever,i found my last shard on ground zero(where the final battle takes place)on top of the very tall building,it doesnt show up on the map thats why i was so confused, all thats left is to beat it on hard and i got my plat!!!
  • hardest bronze of all time
  • Is there a map to see all of them and get them?
  • 4 left for me D:
  • this guide rocks: http://guides.ign.com/guides/800208/page_5.html includes locations on the map and screenshots of each shard.
  • no, just no. . . .this trophy took to much of my time and regret it horribally and what the hell-its only a BRONZE!?!?!?
  • 3 of these things is all that stands in my way of getting the platinum. All this effort for a bronze? Come on now, this sucker should have been a silver at least!
  • Now here's all you people pissin' and moanin' about this being a bronze trophy and it's so long and requires so much effort just because there's 350...I think the number is going to your heads because this (like all other inFamous trophies) are ridiculously easy and simple. Understandaly, some of the stunts might be tricker to get, but collecting a bunch of shards that are scattered around...and none are even missable. So really, be happy this all the work you have to do for 350 shards, because they could have made them ALOT more difficult to get to
  • Well the maps they have for this trophy i printed out, and me and brother went through each district and found every shard but one. is there one on the map we coulda missed or what?
  • so i was going through my Hero playthrough on hard today right.... i had every other trophy except this one and the one that require u to be good... on a seperate file i had my Infamous playthrough.... 348 shards.... went to load that game to find the shards with my paint map.... but accidentally saved over my file.... do i have to get all of the shards again... or just the ones i missed.... im kinda pissed lol
  • Easiest way to get this: Start a new game. Use the maps to collect all the shards from the islands as you unlock them. There are 147 on Neon, 135 on Warren, and 68 in the Historic District. That way, you'll know if you got them all before you move on to the next island. Saves a lot of time in the end traveling to all three islands once you beat the game. Also, makes it seem like a less tedious task.
  • It's a shame that this isn't ( at least ) a silver trophy...
  • I have just finished second playthrough, I'm missing only two trophies and this is one of them (the other is easy compared to this, but I will probably do that one later than this :-) ). I tend to go for each city block. I have started in Neon and with blocks out of the subway. Then subway rails and surroundings (where I can see from them). Then coastline. After that the park and then city blocks inside the subway clockwise. I have completed Neon in about 90 minutes and have 257 shards so far. I haven't missed some whe doing main missions. For example prison shards... I have to collect 93 shards and all of them should be easily done. I have just to run all around the city.
  • You know, I disagree that this is a "bad Trophy". What they did wrong is just putting too many of those Shards in the game. I mean, they would have been better off putting in 300 at most. Because I noticed that, even with collecting many while playing, it still took a lot of collecting to get 300. And I needed to get about 50 more after finishing the game too. Besides, you just found them all over the place at first, one building could have 2 on it not far apart, which just looked silly. It would have made more sense if those large shards were more spread out, a little harder to just run into. Seeing that it's a Bronze Trophy though, that IS pretty messed up. Should have been a Silver one if you ask me. Something that doesn't take much, except for collecting and also time. O
  • Finally!!!
  • Guys, the easiest way to find all shards is playing the game and going to the next district ONLY after finding all the shards in that district. This way, you ensure the last level is clear and therefore should not be revisited. The shards count per district is in the thread in the forum. Happy hunting!
  • i agree with #37. Get them per district. I recommend you get the neon shards even before you start your first mission. That way you don't have to worry about any enemies (because they only get there after the blackout) and you have a lot of energy to spam those lovely power attacks later on. This trophy isn't so bad, because you don't only get a bronze trophy, you also get alot of energy, which makes you very powerfull. This made my hard run very easy.
  • It was a pain in the ass to check it where did I left shards with map. :) But it helped out a lot too :)
  • wow, i used the map and i have 349 shards, you must be joking!
  • Just use the map as a checklist, check every spot even if you think you have it. My last shard was in a very obvious spot. Great to get this trophy out of the way, it's painstaking.
  • I'm officially in the 349 club...
  • Cancel that... I found the last one, in a place i could swear I already searched thoroughly!!!!
  • ok so this will be my 7th try at this trophy dont know why i cant get it are there any shards that might get overlooked that i havent found i always get 349 WTF!!!! some one help me pleasse psn= Trask-O
  • This trophy should have been gold. Tip: Get a printed roadmap and cross out each territory after your done. You will have a very hard time finding this randomly, and expect to spend atleast 5 hours even with the map.
  • 349 here as well
  • http://guides.ign.com/guides/800208/page_5.html this site really helped me to get the final shard. i was on 349 for soooo long but this guide helped.
  • I used the link from the guide and can confirm that they are all there. There were a couple dots that weren't quite in the correct spot, but it was good enough. Most tedious trophy ever.
  • I'm at 349, and had given up. I'm now playing InFamous 2, and my interest is piqued. . . is there a commonly missed 350th shard that anyone knows of?
  • Anybody else find it funny that it's harder to get this trophy and it's only a bronze but on inFamous 2 it's a gold when's it's actaully easier? o.O I mean sure there may be more in 2 but once you get that blast shard sense it's a a piece of cake! :D
  • How do you check to see how many Balast Shards you Have?
  • Carock77: Having read probably over 500 threads/posts/comments on your question, there are a 1-3 that are common that most people in said threads have had gotten the trophy after reading them. 1st there is the one in the Historic District on top of the huge building next to Ground Zero. It is ALL the way up that building and it is the biggest building in the game. Then there is the one on the docks in the Neon District that you need the thrusters for. Having gotten the trophy today I can honestly say all 3 of the ones I needed were in the Neon District and I just started using a red marker and going through the ones I had gotten. I had missed the one on the dock, but the other 2 were in places I would have DEFINITELY thought I had checked...
  • Intox Reboot: Some Televisions can't, I forgot why but I know it is a setting thing. Anyway, the way you check is you just go to the Save/Load/New Game Screen and go to the file you want to Load/Save and just don't touch anything and if your settings are able to it will show you I believe: Your Rank, % of Game Completed, How Many Districts Cleared, Blast Shards Gotten, and 1 or 2 other things.
  • Trask, CyrahOmega: What bulletproofcupit. jaywhy729, and tuppso said are all true. Chances are it is going to be somewhere you would have definitely guessed you would have gone too 100x over. Without the map and crossing out it will take an eternity and with the map and crossing out (and doing that correctly which is DEFINITELY easier said than done) will take you a good 5-10 hours. My last 3 were all in the Neon District, only one was in one of the "common places" for the last shards people miss (The dock in the Neon District you need the Static Thrusters to get too) and the other 2 were in those building + dock combination areas, separate ones, but nonetheless 2 places I was 10000000% sure I had been too over 150x and would have never guessed them to be there.
  • Thanks, I got it now....
  • Althought I agree that it is a stupid trophy, It was one of my easier ones
  • This trophy is easy but, it take a very long time and it annoying.
  • Theres one way off the edge of neon. Easily missable if you dont look for it.
  • Annoying trophy. All that time searching for a bronze.
  • This trophy killed me.. Should be a gold for sure. I was missing 3 blast shards and got the map off of google with all of the shard placements, then i checked every one on the map and eventually found the 3 i was missing over the time span of about 3 hours that i spent looking
  • Nearly destroyed my L3 button searching every nook and cranny, only to find it in an obvious broken dock that I already checked. Wish I could get that hour of my life back.
  • I hate this trophy.I have one left and I can find it I had two and I used the map guid on this site, and found one more now I can't find the last. I don't want to have to look for them again special on hard and infamous. Couse everyone I'm sure will be after me.
  • This was a royal pain in the backside. To make sure I missed none, I actually kept a count of how many shards I had collected in each of the three sections of the city. Timr-consuming, but far lass hassle than having to wander the map for hours looking. Cheers.
  • Then try to break down each if the three map sections into about 4-5 zones, and thoroughly explore each of those using the maps. Makes it more manageable and also seem like less of a chore.
  • I did it on a second playthrough. I hated this trophy, but it's oh-so satisfying once you've done it.
  • I'm getting them as I come across them.. I figure the last one to find will be way out somewhere I can't get to b/c I'm only in the 2nd area as of now and JUST survived the prison fiasco on Hard. I'm trying to find every bit of shards as I open up.. it's just the stupid challenges tricks that are annoying so far. I hope when I'm done with this that Infamous 2 isn't as grueling. I do good so far without a guide. :)
  • It was damn hard to find all the blast shards, I had to search in each district one by one, but I found the last blast shard in the neon near archer square. I guess I had overlooked it.
  • after three playthroughs of this game and always getting 348 or 349 I have given up at this trophy. may it burn in hell.
  • and the most annoying trophy goes to
  • I'm currently at 347...I'm not looking forward to having to cross off the dots, but I tried to get all the shards in each district before moving on so hopefully I just missed 3 in the Historic District. I hate how the map in the corner is too small and both the shards and electrical outlets all come up as blue when you use the pulse. Why not make the shards bright green or something?!?!?
  • I did the map method and ended up missing two, found one accidently on one of those bridge statues on the historic district while heading towards the train rails to try and see if I could spot any of the missing blast shards, and searched around pointlessly for maybe an hour or two that day while riding on the train tracks. I found the last one on the map that I was using to cross dots off on a dock. It wasn't even crossed off! This happened a while ago.
  • this is crazy, second time here, i got 349, i check my map and it says i should have 350!!! Losing my hope here!!!
  • There is a shard on top of a building in the Historic District that doesn't show up on your radar since it's so high up (it's on top of the huge pinnacle near ground zero). Check there for your final shard!
  • What an awful trophy. Started trophy hunting again for this game. Off course I went for this one. Spent several hours gathering something like 200+ shards, only to now have one left and I have absolutely no clue where it is. Already went across the entire map several times, my thumb hurts like hell from pressing L3 a million times. I spent several hours just running through the city, pressing L3 like an idiot for this last one. I hate these useless "find all the objects" stuff in games. Who seriously gets enjoyement from finding 350 shards, with no way of tracking which one you have or still require. Not even how many are left per district. It's also awesome that you have to jump right through the shard to pick it up, I've spent several times just jumping around a shard, struggling to get
  • it, even though it's less than a foot from Cole away. Several times I fell into the water, because of this. Cole keeps getting sucked into every ledge. What were they thinking at Sucker Punch?! Worse of all, it's only a BRONZE trophy, wtf?! Absolutely useless. /end rant
  • What absolute ball-ache this trophy was! Naturally, i was stuck on 349 like most people for absolutely ages..... UNTIL NOW!!! Found it in Neon and when i pinged and the blue dot showed up i have never been to overwhelmed with joy!! ... a close second for my son being born lol Now i am in the 350 club, the best advice i can offer is to start your search in Neon. This is the beginning of the game and i never fully understood the shards and what they were about until i got half way through it. Therefore, i wasn't as finicky about collecting immediately and it would have been more likely that i overlooked one there, which is what happened as it turns out. I guess i also didint realise how much of a pain in the arse this chore would be, so i was originally just like "yeh i will get the
  • hating life. loving the game. beat it ages ago, but never found the 350th. thought i'd go back and try. its no easy task. considering starting over...but. just roaming, i'll find it. eventually. wish there was at least another bronze for the 349th. 'so close but yet so far' would be perfect. oh well. the hunt continues.
  • been using the maps and going island by island as i unlock them. well on Warren i was missing 1 and i could NOT find it thanks to this post "Comment #26 by KeverHans Thursday, December 08, 2011 @ 07:08:41 AM this guide rocks: http://guides.ign.com/guides/800208/page_5.html includes locations on the map and screenshots of each shard." the pic here showed me exactly which one i missed, as i marked one wrong. it was one at the very beginning to the left from the bridge on the lip over the water.
  • If you're missing one or two at the end of going through the maps like I was, just riding the rails around smashing RS is pretty helpful and if that doesn't work, then just going through building clusters and hitting RS constantly will probably get it done. If you still can't find it, check the maps for the obscure ones on the outskirts of the city in the water and the like.
  • FINALLY GOT THIS PIECE OF SHIT TROPHY YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • -.- ... Had printed out a map with all the shard locations to make this trophy a little more bearable. Collected all of the shards marked on the map, but still had one shard left somewhere in the goddamn map. ... -.- sighhh. Had to print out individual maps of the different locations and went block-by-block throughout all of the neon district and found nothing. Moved on to the Warren, comenced my block-by-block stratgy once again, and finally, after an hour and a half of searching (spread over a couple days) found the last one I missed on top of a telephone pole in one of the Medical Clinic areas (top left of the Warren district). THE ASSHATS WHO PUT THE DOTS ON THE MAP I ORIGINALLY PRINTED OUT DECIDED IT WOULD BE A GOOD IDEA TO PUT THE MEDICAL CLINIC DOT AND THE SHARD DOT DIRECTLY ON
  • There is a hidden shard in the area where you defeat Alden. It's at the very top of the tall leaning tower. It won't show up if your on the round but as you start climbing it will appear on your mini map.
  • I'm missing two . . . I've already done a sector by sector search of Neon and Warren, but nothing. I hate this.
  • so time consuming
  • Three spots that are most likely the shards you're missing: 1- Near the top of the highest point at the prison; just climb up all the way to the top and press R3 (it should be on the ledge of the highest point. 2. At ground zero, an extremely tall building that's leaning a little has a shard right at the top. Climb all the way to the top to get it. (These first two don't show up at ground level by pressing R3 since they're so high.) 3. The broken bridge that connected Warren and Historic District has a shard. Start at the historic district part of the bridge and static thrust towards the Warren part. Shard will be to your left (Press R3 and you'll see it) Thanks to the IGN guide that #79 DarkAmon shared. Helps so much with this trophy. GOOD LUCK FELLOW TROPHY HUNTERS!
  • Wow... I came up 348/350 my first attempt. Found the last two in the warren and historic districts. Well worth the grind as it nabbed the plat for me. Good luck to all.
  • For some reason the trophy glitches just before you find the last shard. That is why the platinum trophy is so rare. My suggestion is to clear the district without getting a single shard and then use a map to find the shards, it gives you a larger chance at getting the trophy. Good luck fellow trophy-hunters!
  • I could just print it off and just mark them off as I go through them
  • Do the hidden pakacge ones and all the ones that are in lockers from side missions count to cause there is amission in wich a guy offers you 1 shard but he has 5. if you take em all you get negative kamma but since i am playing the good guy i dont want that. so do the side mission shards count to or just the one scatered from the blast?
  • this trophy bloodily sucks i have one missing and i think it's on the bridge where you beat the giant junk robot thing. this trophy should at least be silver maybe gold because of the one blast shard that does not appear and I've gotten the one one the destroyed building in the historic district.
  • This is the type of trophy that makes you hate the game, perhaps the franchise. My Playstation came with Uncharted 1 and 2 and Infamous 1, 2, Festival Of Blood. I have 100% platinum for both Uncharted games. I do not plan on getting future Infamous or Uncharted games as I am done with them. Back to the trophy at hand. I have 333 of the shards and have walked all over the three parts of the map like a retard pressing L3 searching. 333 of the shards are what I have got playing the game without guides or anything/help. I guess I must turn to the guides to help me get this 100% platinum. Anyone have a heads up for 2 and Festival Of Blood? Are they as boring and tedious as this game? I have not played them at all. I like to finish games completely in order before moving onto the next. I got
  • WOW, continuation: I got two different friends, one has the 100% platinum for Infamous 1 and one just recently did 100% platinum for Infamous Second Son. He said that was real easy. Very surprising. He is a damn good trophy hunter. Who knew this forum was kind of stupid and does not let you know about a character limitation?
  • if anyone is missing only one shard (or just a few) then look on this guide: http://ca.ign.com/wikis/infamous/Neon_Blast_Shards_-_Sector_Three and look at neon district:sector 3:shard 12. that is the one that i was missing when i had the rest, it is well hidden and took me FOREVER to find even using guides.
  • Awesome bro. A sector by sector breakdown. I will use this and hope to nail this ridiculously stupid trophy. I still think I have only 3 shards left to get. Have not played this stupid game since I got the evil karma upgrade silver trophy, my last trophy. I only need to play through on hard to get the platinum, not counting Rockhound on my good playthrough.
  • This took way to long for a bronze trophy like many have said... if you are like me and had 349/350 and scratched each time you got one off and still couldnt find it, go look on top of the tallest building in the Historic District, since the shard is so high up it will not appear on your map... hopefully this helped ! :)
  • What a garbage! One left and can't find it,been looking everywhere!
  • Fuck me!founded in Warren district,I was 100% sure that I've look there,it was in the middle of fire place
  • https://ca.ign.com/wikis/infamous/Blast_Shards This helped immensely as it splits the districts in Sectors and makes for easy collecting. Hope this helps other as it helped me
  • What everybody has been saying about the shard on the tower near ground 0 is true. The shard doesn't show up on the minimap when you press L3 until you get high enough up the tower. That's where my 350 was.
  • Seph647, I know this is almost 10 years later, but I just want to thank you! This trophy has taken me all day, checking and rechecking every location on the map given and marking them off in paint numerous times. Climbing the incredibly tall building right next to ground zero was the final one for me. It didn't show on the map and is NOT on these maps given.
