Pick up all the blast shards scattered around New Marais.
Remember the frustration with blast shards that was inFamous 1? Remember mashing the heck outta that button to find those last few shards running across every street and nook? Fortunately, you won't have to worry about that anymore.

Sweet I loved Rockhound in the first one. Glad this time its a gold one,I thought it was BS that the 50% shards found was bronze instead of silver, and the found all 350 shards/100% was bronze instead of Gold. Glad they fixed this problem.

Got this earlier, got 300/305 on my own, then once you complete 60 side missions, you can ping the map and it will show you the closest shard on your mini map. Makes this trophy much more tolerable.
No more 349 club! (or 304 in this case)

Tuesday, June 07, 2011 @ 10:29:03 PM
I remember me and a friend sat down for like four hours to get the last fifty shards in the first one. The last one was in the Neon, out on the water where you have to hop on like ten wooden poles to get it. I freaked out because it was my first platinum and that was the last trophy.

Wednesday, June 08, 2011 @ 07:45:15 AM
yeah it was easy to find the rest of them in infamous 1 once you completed the side missions.
Wednesday, June 08, 2011 @ 10:49:20 AM
Once you complete 60 side missions you will unlock the ability to have your map ping point you to the nearest shard no matter where it's at. Should be easy to get once you get to that point.
Wednesday, June 08, 2011 @ 05:16:33 PM
They should've made this a silver. You have a power that helps you find all of the shards, but it is still extremely time consuming. Also, the shard count has dropped, so it's not as bad as the first game.
Thursday, June 09, 2011 @ 04:26:51 AM
I got this very easily. I got 284 of them before I even bought blast sense which shows the nearest shard. Just get them while you go about your business and you'll be fine.

Super easy I got them all by just pressing L3 and seeing where the closest one is. I'm also going to platinum this today.

Had to get "Blast Sense" for the last one. It won't show up on any part of any island when pressing L3, it was too far off the map, if you know what I mean. No glitches on any shards though.
Monday, June 13, 2011 @ 10:46:24 AM
"Blast Sense" is a waste of time. I only have a few shards on island 2 left to find,
and since there are maps out there with the shard locations, completing all the side missions just to get the ability is pointless... Granted the ability is required for platinum, but i'm not going out of my way to finish the 60 missions just to find a couple shards I'll either find while running around or can look up on a map.
Tuesday, June 14, 2011 @ 10:07:59 AM
yes, i had one in the first island around the main loop. it was way out on a pole and it wouldnt let me pick it up. i just remembered where it was and when i was back around there later after a mission or so, it let me get it. very weird.

its easy after you get the upgrade for the blast shard senses easier the the 1st game cus in the 1st 1 you had 2 get 350 blast shards & the trophy was only bronze but this time its gold & you can get tht upgrade tht makes it a lot easier.

I was at 292 Shards by the time I unlocked Shard Sense. Turns out I missed 4 on the first island, but I honestly think I could have found them without the Sense. IMO if this trophy was "Pick up all the blast shards scattered around New Marais WITHOUT using Shard Sense" it'd be a good Gold. As it is I think it should be a Silver

well almost at the end of the game u gain an ability that shows u
where do u get them no matter how far u are , and there is
the shards that u get from defusing bombs , and side missions.

I forgot the shard on the bridge where you destroyed Alden on the side of Historic District.
It can also be on top of the high damaged building near the crater in Historic District.

I got it pretty easily...I went around from the beginning, using my pulse sense to detect shards and get them as I reached my missions. I didn't go out looking for them otherwise. By the time I got my 60th side mission done and got the Shard Sense ability, I was missing about 40-50 of them, and all of them were in the Gas Works (I got lazy and stopped collecting shards when I got to the Gas Works)...another 10 minutes later, I had the trophy. Simple...

At first I thought this would be another trophy that would be an impossible time consuming task, but then I discovered the UGC content. The trophy was easy because if you search blast shards, you will find a mission that collects every blast shard for you without ever using the controller.

Finished my 1st playthrough, all shards found.
Considering how easy it is to find all the shards especially with a lot of them in plain view, the use of a map scanner and not forgetting the totally pointless upgrade, why on earth would you use a UGC? LOL
Think about it!! First, your taking a huge portion of fun out of the game and it's a simple task to complete and second, how many games do you know that actually come with a map scanner for collectables??
It would be like any other normal part of a game and would be a far better challenge without the map scanner or the upgrade and a better reason to put up all these posts! LOL

Saturday, April 18, 2015 @ 03:57:51 PM
Collectibles are nothing "fun" or "challenging"... It's just a boring task developers add to make the game last longer.
Good thing the UGC is here, that leaves more time for the better parts.
