Introduction

The BEAST is coming.

Blamed for the destruction of Empire City and haunted by the ghosts of his past, reluctant hero Cole MacGrath makes a dramatic journey to the historic Southern city of New Marais in an effort to discover his full super-powered potential -- and face a civilization-ending confrontation with a dark and terrifying enemy from his own future. Gifted with extraordinary god-like abilities, Cole alone has the power to save humanity, but the question is-- will he choose to do so?

[Official Description]

Trophy Import Feature

So for those of us that played and completed the first inFamous game, the developers decided to reward players that completed the first game by offering starting bonuses for Cole McGrath's second adventure.

  • Finished the game on any difficulty: 1,000 starting XP
  • Have obtained a Good or Evil Trophy: Start with level 1 good or bad karma
  • Have found 25 percent of the blast shards: Energy core (health bar segment)
  • Have found 50 percent of the blast shards: Two energy cores
  • Certain unspecified "decisions" also result in changes in side missions, Dead Drops and dialogue

[Source]

Note that this feature checks your local trophy data on your PS3, not your save file. Even if you have earned the inFamous trophies and have synced them to the servers but they're not saved locally on your system itself, this feature won't appear upon starting a new game.

To get around this, do the following:

  1. Start up inFamous 1
  2. Load your save(s), and then save again
  3. Local trophy data should now be in your PS3
  4. Start up a new game in inFamous 2

Playthrough 1:

Story:
The first playthrough of the game is where you will get the vast majority of things done and ultimately get to 100% (in-game) completion. From the start of the game, after your first run in with the Beast, you will come to your first Karmic choice pretty early on. At this point you should decide if you want your first playthrough to be a Good or Bad playthrough.

Note that depending on your playthrough, keep in mind two missable trophies:

  • Good Karma - Frozen Asset
  • Bad Karma - The Cleaner

See the guide for more details.

Once you have that decided, it's in your best interest to be consistent for the rest of the game. In story missions always make the same Karma decisions throughout the story. Good will always be marked with blue and Bad will always be marked in red. Same with side missions and street crimes. For the side missions that have an affect on your karma rating stick to the same type depending on your original choice and for the street crimes, there are 4 types of Good Karma street crimes and 4 types of Evil Karma street crimes, stick to the 4 that relate to your choice and ignore the rest. You will get 1 side of all the story/ending trophies and the maximum good or evil karma trophy, as long as you are consistent then reaching full good or evil karma will cause you no trouble.

In addition, during the playthrough there are a few things you should note. "Knockout in the Blackout" can only be achieved while there are still power down areas and since you will eventually power up all areas of the city, you should get this out of the way earlier on in the game. See that trophy in the guide for more info.

"Return to Sender" is another one to be aware of, you will fight quite a few Helicopters throughout the game but you will eventually run out of opportunities so it's best to just get it out of the way in your first encounter with a Helicopter

Some other cumulative trophies you might want to concentrate on as you progress just to potentially save time later on are, "Finish What You Started" & "Vehicular Manslaughter".

During and/or End Game:

Between story missions or at the end of the game, keep in mind the following:

Side Missions:

  • Side missions are good to generally do as you play since for every 10 you complete unlocks a new power. The trophies related to them are the territory based trophies, "Land Lord" & "It's My Town, Now". You also need the powers they unlock to eventually get "With Great Power Comes Greater Power". To ensure you don't miss trophies, just make sure you stick to 1 type of side mission, not all side missions have an influence on your karma but for the ones that do, be consistent and stick to the same type depending on what playthrough you are currently doing.

Blast Shards/Dead Drops:

  • For the Blast Shards you should be going for these as you see them throughout the game but you don't need to go out of your way searching for them or anything. Once you have completed 60 side missions you can go for them anytime with the Blast Shard sense power, See "Just One More" for more info. Dead Drops are easy enough when you know the locations; seee "Well inFORMED" for more info.

User-Generated Content:

  • UGC is fairly straightforward, you need to make 1 level for "Level Up" and playing 25 levels made by others (at least 5 from the newest missions filter) will get you the other 3.

Note: Aside from the UGC related trophies, trophies will not unlock in UGC missions

Getting All Powers:

  • By the time you have completed everything else it would be very surprising if you somehow didnt have enough XP to buy every power. If you do it's just a matter of going into the power menu and buying any you haven't already for "With Great Power Comes Greater Power". Otherwise you can grind out XP through playing more UGC missions for example.

Playthrough 2 on Hard:

Important Note:
The game has 1 auto-save slot. To manual save you need to pause and select Saved Games. If you start a new playthrough without manually saving your previous one then you won't be able to go back. So especially if you want to start your 2nd playthrough before completely finishing everything in the first, it is recommend you keep an up to date manual save of your different Karma playthroughs.

Story:
As you start, pause and change the difficulty to hard at the first opportunity to ensure you get the "Pain Builds Character" trophy this playthrough. Whichever Karma path you went down in your previous playthrough, you need to do the opposite during this one. So if you were good, be evil and make all the opposite decisions as you play through the story and stick to the opposite karma side missions and street crimes. For help with "Pain Builds Character", see that trophy in the guide.

Side Missions:
The side missions are, for the most part, not required for this playthrough but you may want to do them anyway for the new powers they unlock. That is completely up to you though. The missions you do need to complete are the Karma based side missions. Just make sure you do all of those and stick to the opposite type to what you did on your previous playthrough.

Clean Up:

Potentially not needed but if you are missing any trophies after both your playthroughs then check the guide for them and go get them.

52 trophies ( 40  3  )

  • Collect all other inFAMOUS 2 Trophies

As with other games, collect all other trophies to unlock this trophy. Congrats!

  • Finish the game on hard difficulty.

To ensure you unlock this trophy when you attempt to complete the game on hard, follow these steps:

    1. Start a new game, and as soon as you gain control of Cole, press to enter the in-game menu
    2. Go to Options and change the difficulty to Hard
    3. Save, then start another new game
    4. You'll now begin the game automatically on Hard

Note that based on your performance in the game's "tutorial level", if you did extraordinary well, the game will automatically bump you up to Hard. This will not affect you earning the trophy.

On Hard, enemies will generally hit harder and will take many more hits before defeated. In addition, any stunts will earn you less experience compared to Normal/Easy.

    Some tips:

    Good Karma

    • Good karma powers focus on efficiency; an emphasis in taking out enemies quickly with little energy consumption
    • Every time you restore your energy, you'll also automatically heal yourself. That said, focus on purchasing abilities that restores your energy upon use
    • Reaching the Hero Karmic Rank unlocks the passive ability that allows you to restore energy everytime your bolts hit any normal sized enemy; very useful in powered down areas
    • The Frost Shield and the Ice Rockets are your best friends; combine this with the Ionic Vortex and the game becomes a cake walk

    Bad Karma

    • Bad karma powers focus on Area of Effect abilities; an emphasis in hitting multiple opponents with each blast of your powers
    • One of the main advantages of being a bad ass, though you could do this on your Good Karma playthrough regardless, is Bio Leeching. Bio Leeching restores your health and energy to full; again very useful in powered down areas
    • This time around, consider grabbing the Scyth Bolt, Napalm/Double Grenades and the bad karma related Rockets as soon as you can. Again, combine this with the Ionic Vortex and you should have no trouble (not that you were anyway) tackling Hard

There have been reports that this trophy does not unlock properly if you skip the ending credits. If that happens, simply beat the game again (you'll be taken back prior to making your last decision end game) and sit through the credits this time and it should unlock.

  • Pick up all the blast shards scattered around New Marais.

Remember the frustration with blast shards that was inFamous 1? Remember mashing the heck outta that button to find those last few shards running across every street and nook? Fortunately, you won't have to worry about that anymore.

Although you'll still technically still be running around the city mashing looking for the 305 blast shards, you now have the option to purchase the Blast Shard Sense ability, purchasable after doing all 60 side missions. This ability will not only show you where the blast shards are, but it will lead you to it no matter how far away you are from it. Thanks to the addition of this ability, no longer will you have to use a map to keep track of your blast shards progress.

Collect all 305 shards scattered across New Marais, and the trophy will pop. To save yourself some time, make a habit of using during the course of your game to nab any shards that be in your area. Not only will this increase the amount of times you can use your electric super powers, but it will also save you the hassle of leaving this task end game.

Note that blast shards earned from defusing bombs or chasing down the thief will not towards you total.

**There is now a super fast way to get all the blast shards!**

  • Unlock and purchase all powers.

New powers will be become available to you as you progress through the story, and by going up in your karmic rank. As with the first game, the type of abilities that become available to you will be dependent on your karmic rank. Leaning towards the Hero side and you'll be locked out of the Evil powers, and vice versa.

It is not recommended you mix and match, as in choosing to be a good guy in the beginning, and then deciding to be evil midway. Otherwise, you'll end up having to grind good/bad opportunities to reach max karma rank end game.

In addition, you are not required to purchase all powers on one save file in order to unlock the trophy. You only need to unlock and purchase all powers that are possible on your current save file. For example, if you're focusing on being a good guy on your first playthrough, you'll only need to purchase all the basic abilities and the good karma ones; evil abilities are not required.

Please note that Ionic Storm is required for this trophy, which you get as part of the story near the end of the game.

There's an easy way to grind out XP, specifically on Mission 35. Credits to TigerLust for the following tip:

While playing missions 35, you will be climbing the ice tower. You will now have to turn some valves. Turn the first two, then kill yourself with some grenades.

    1. You will be at the second valve. Run around the corridor to the left, and around the bend. You will see a line of yellow boosting poles, jump on one of the middle poles, land on the next boost pole, then land on the roof.
    2. Run forward a bit and get the two guys to notice you, then back up to where you landed on the roof.
    3. Now spam grenades like mad. The best is cluster grenades, but if you don't have it spam whatever you can. Buy the grenade cluster upgrade as soon as you can. You will get more stunt combos than the game can display at one time! You can get a few hundred XP on hard in under a minute. Simply hit L2 to recharge your energy and your health (assuming you hit it before the screen turns white.). Kill everyone with the grenades. Don't be shy, you can hit the same guy with 5 grenades, and get stunt points for Each and every one.
    4. Do NOT turn the third valve. When all the enemies are dead, commit suicide with grenades. Repeat from step 1.

PS: this is also a great place to work any stunts you need to unlock powers or trophies

If you do not wish to earn your XP legit, you can abuse the following glitch and earn them like so:

  • Pick up 50% of blast shards scattered around New Marais.

See Just One More for details.

  • Unlock the good ending.

Story related. You will earn this on your Good Karma playthrough.

After absorbing the 7th and final blast core the next mission is "The Final Decision" which is the last in the game. Cole will start up the RFI only to find out it's true purpose before being stopped by Zeke. This is the final choice which decides which ending you play through. You're two female companions switch sides at the end, so siding with Nix and agreeing to power up and use the RFI is the Good Karma Choice and siding with Kup and agreeing to help the beast is the Evil Karma Choice.

This trophy will pop if you side with Nix for the Good Karma choice, it will pop after the credits once you are placed into free roam mode.

There have been reports that this trophy does not unlock properly if you skip the ending credits. If that happens, simply beat the game again (you'll be taken back prior to making your last decision end game) and sit through the credits this time and it should unlock.

  • Unlock the evil ending.

Story related. You will earn this on your Bad Karma playthrough.

  • Take over the first island in New Marais.

The first island, refers to the first main island and Acsension Parish.

Refer to It's My Town, Now for details.

  • Take over the second island in New Marais.

The second island, refers to Flood Town and Gas Works.

If you haven't noticed, every time you’ve completed a side mission. These missions will become unlocked as you complete story missions and by completing previous side missions. Areas with a gray border are areas you’ve gained control; red areas are ones that are still under enemy influence.

You may have noticed certain parts of an island with gray and red borders with no side mission icon appearing. In order to get them to appear, defeat enemies within these areas until a yellow icon appears on a defeated soldier. These side missions will either have you finding a hidden package, or destroying a convoy.

  • Collect all Dead drops.

Dead Drops become collectible once again only this time, they are carried by carrier pigeons flying around the city. Aside from earning your first Dead Drop as part of a story mission, you'll have to find the others yourself. They'll be automatically listed on your mini-map in the form of a blue pigeon icon when you get close. Collecting them will reveal the back story of the characters across the game, shown in the form of audio logs. For 19 you will need the Improved Static Thrusters, see "Back to Bayou" for a guide on how to reach that area.

There are a total 30 Dead Drops scattered across the game. Note that the map is meant to be used in compliment to the video.

    Locations are as follows:

    Video:

    Map:

  • Earn full negative Karma.

Your karma rank is determined by the gauge next to your charge meter. Negative karma is sorted into three separate ranks:

    Thug > Outlaw > Infamous

Doing anything that’s considered evil, such as completing the red side missions, doing stunts listed in red (bio leeching, killing civilians), etc., will move your karma to the negative side. As soon as you’ve reach full negative karma, the trophy will automatically unlock.

    • - Side Missions that results in earning Bad Karma

Reaching full Infamous rank will NOT lock you in this rank; you'll still have to worry about your karma moving back towards the good side. You're free to save civilians once in a while, but make sure you kill a few to balance things out.

  • Earn full positive Karma.

Your karma rank is determined by the gauge next to your charge meter. Positive karma is sorted into three separate ranks:

    Guardian > Champion > Hero

Doing anything that’s considered good, such as completing the blue side missions, doing stunts listed in blue (arc restraining, healing civilians), etc., will move your karma to the positive side. As soon as you’ve reach full positive karma, the trophy will automatically unlock.

    • - Side Missions that results in earning Good Karma

Reaching full Hero rank will NOT lock you in this rank; you'll still have to worry about your karma moving back towards the bad side. So unfortunately, you're not free to cause as much collateral damage as you want and still be treated as a hero among the city.

  • Collect 50% of the available Dead Drops.

    See Well inFORMED for details.

  • Story related. You will earn this on your Bad Karma playthrough.

After starting to the story mission "Torn" you will come to a point where you need to choose to complete the mission In a good or evil way. You will be presented with two potential ways to get into the mansion to rescue Kuo, these will be represented on the map as a Blue (Good karma choice) and Red (Bad karma choice) icons. Make your choice depending on which playthrough you are currently doing (Good/Evil).

This trophy will pop after completing the "BOOM!" branch of this mission which is the evil karma choice.

  • Complete Hearts and Minds Campaign.

Story related. You will earn this on your Good Karma playthrough.

Further on the story, Zeke will tell you that the Transfer Deviceis hold up in a place called Fort Philippe. Kuo thinks she can win and gain the trust of the Rebels for their help, while Nix suggests you dress her up as a militant, start up a fight, and you swoop in to save the day. Once again, you’ll be given the option to either go with either one. Head to the blue marker to work together with Kuo, and upon completing it, you’ll unlock the trophy.

This trophy will pop after completing the "Hearts and Minds." branch of this mission which is the good karma choice

  • Complete Nix's New Family.

Story related. You will earn this on your Bad Karma playthrough.

During the mission "Rail Yard Intel" you will again be presented with a Karma based choice on how to proceed. You can either go with Kuo and get pictures of Bertrand creating the swamp monsters to expose him for what he really is to the people of New Marais (This is the Good Karma choice, or you can go with Nix and help her recruit and bond with the swamp monsters, so she has her own personal army of them (This is the Evil Karma choice).

This trophy will pop after completing the "Nix's New Family." branch of the mission which is the Evil Karma choice.

  • Complete Exposing Bertrand.

Story related. You will earn this on your Good Karma playthrough.

This trophy will pop after completing the "Exposing Bertrand." branch of the mission which is the Good Karma Choice.

  • Complete the assassination side missions.

    Missable

This trophy will unlock upon completing the following side missions, which can be found in the main island and in Flood Town:

    • Taking Out the Trash (as part of "Karma's a Bitch" story mission)
    • The Hunt
    • Assassin's Greed

"Taking Out the Trash", is part of the "Karma's a Bitch" story mission, when Zeke introduces you to side missions. These missions require you to hunt down certain individuals by matching the person with your photograph. These side missions serve as a mini sidequest and are linked together so you'll know it when you activate these missions.

Note that these side missions are labeled as Bad Karma opportunities , so unless your karmic rank is maxed out as Hero on your good playthrough (karma won't change if its maxed out), consider doing these on your Bad Karma playthrough instead.

  • Complete the ice Conduit side missions.

    Missable

This trophy will unlock upon completing the following side missions, which can be found in Flood Town and Gas Works:

    • Unlikely Allies
    • Stay Frosty
    • The Big Chill
    • Mercy Kill

You'll pair up with an Ice Conduit, who compared to his comrades does not agree with their methods and hopes to redeem himself by helping you out clean up the Ice Army. These side missions serve as a mini sidequest and are linked together so you'll know it when you activate these missions.

Note that these four side missions are labeled as Good Karma opportunities , so unless your karmic rank is maxed out as Infamous on your Bad Karma playthrough (karma won't change if its maxed out), consider doing these on your Good Karma playthrough instead.

  • Take down the Blast Shard Bomber.

You will encounter the Blast Shard Bomber when doing the side mission, "The Gauntlet", located in Gas Works. Those blast shard bombs you constantly see planted all throughout the city? Yeah, he's the guy responsible.

You'll be forced to chase him down while he runs away while blowing up buildings with his bombs and whatnot. At the end of the chase, he'll lead you to some hostages and you'll corner him. You will be given the option to either defuse the bomb then restrain him, or shoot him and blow up the bomb killing him along with the hostages he's held up else up.

Be a hero and defuse the bomb, or laugh as you blow up the Bomber along with the innocents; choose either to complete the mission and unlock the trophy.

  • Return to the swamp blockade.

Remember that place near the very beginning of the game where you had to bypass the military to enter New Marais? In order to unlock this trophy, you’ll have to head back there again. You CAN get back without the Static Thruster upgrades, but for the trouble it's worth, it's not worth it. Hence, it is recommended you attempt this with the upgraded Static Thrusters.

Once you’ve absorbed your third Blast Core during the story mission, along with a new power, your Static Thrusters (while in the air, ) will also be upgraded, now with an initial upward boost upon using it, as well as the ability to use it to cover more distance.

With your upgraded Thrusters, head to the northwest section of the first island. Go behind the buidling by the dock here, jump on the boat, and hover your way to that tower in the water. Once you're on top of it, its just a matter of zipping through more power lines and platforms. Once you're at the very end of this area, the trophy will unlock momentarily.

See the video below for more info.

  • Climb to the top of the 3 tallest buildings in New Marais.

What's a game that has such a big focus on parkour without a trophy for climbing to the top of the city's buildings? If you’ve been looking around New Marais, you’ve probably noticed three buildings that are much taller than the others. Those three buildings are:

    • The Cathedral - Main Island
    • The Clocktower - Main Island
    • The Ice Tower - Gas Works

Simply climb to the very top of these buildings and the trophy will unlock. For added fun, once you’re at the top of these buildings, go back down in style either by jumping off and cover as much distance as you can with the Static Thrusters, or drop down like a mad man with a Thunder Drop.

  • Destroy 30 verandas or other large objects.

Verandas can be found on the side of buildings on the main island of New Marais. They can be destroyed by shooting lightning at them. On the main island, there's at least one building on every street that should have one, so it's just a matter of finding them and destroying them. Large objects also count towards this trophy, such as those big gas filled towers inside the power plants; those towers are red in white in color.

    Verandas / Fuel Towers

In order for it to count, the “Big Destruction” stunt bonus must appear on your screen, which is by destroying all the verandas on a building or blowing up several of these towers at once.

Destroy 30 verdanas or large objects, and the trophy will unlock. If you know for a fact that you destroyed 30 large objects throughout the game but the trophy still hasn't unlocked, do it again all in one sitting. The trophy should unlock properly then.

  • Defeat an enemy by destroying the object they stand on.

This object the trophy description is referring to, is those verandas you see on the side of buildings. Occasionally when roaming the streets of New Marais, you'll see enemies shooting at you on top of them. To earn this trophy, simply destroy a veranda when an enemy's on it.

You can get this, and most likely will, within a few minutes of entering New Marais. You’ll be tasked in locating Dr. Wolfe, and Kuo will lead you down the streets of the city. Soon after, you’ll be told to take out some militants before you can move further on. Grenade the platforms or spam lightning that's holding up the militants, and it should collapse and break apart. Your trophy will unlock shortly after.

  • Perform 100 finishers or ultra melee combos.

You will unlock the ability to perform melee Finishers after completing the story mission, "Evolution". Along with gaining the Pincer Bolt ability, you’ll also be able to purchase new powers as well, along with the Finisher melee power up. You won’t unlock the Ultra Combo ability though, until later on in the game.

When you attack enemies with the Amp, you’ll notice a gauge on the bottom left of your screen. As you smack enemies with it, the gauge will start to fill up. When it’s half way filled, you can perform a Finisher on enemies to finish them off by pressing .

An Ultra Melee Combo can be performed the same way, but will require the gauge to be filled all the way up. You'll be treated to an impressive finishing move this time around, complete with slow motion effects and extra flair.

Simply defeat 100 enemies using either of these methods to unlock this trophy. These moves will always take down normal sized enemies regardless of their health, so you will most likely get this trophy naturally due to their usefulness.

  • Defeat 50 enemies in powered down areas while no missions are active.

    Missable

You’ll know you’ve entered a powered down area when the game notifies you, well, that you’re entering a powered down area on the top of your screen. Your mini-map on the bottom right corner will also produce static. On your map (), you’ll notice that island/areas to your right and the top are grayed out; those are the powered down areas.

    Powered Down Areas

Entering these areas, much like the first game, will result in higher enemy encounter rates and be pitted against much stronger enemies, such as enemies behind shielded turrets and militants with mini-guns. It is suggested you go about this trophy once you’ve at least acquired the Ionic Vortex. You have a very limited supply in terms of restoring your energy, so if you're having trouble, come back to this trophy when you've reached at least Hero on your good karma playthrough; the passive ability restores your energy every time your bolts hit an enemy. Bio Leeching your enemies however, works just as fine.

Kill 50 enemies in these areas, and the trophy will unlock. Note that even if you die, your progress will still carry over. Remember, you must kill these 50 enemies when you're not in the middle or a story mission or side mission as the trophy description describes.

  • Hurl 50 objects using the Kinetic Pulse ability.

In order to pick up objects, you must have already unlocked the Kinetic Pulse ability, which is automatically unlocked as part of the early on story mission, "Forward Momentum". To perform it, hold to pick up an object, then fire it with or .

Many objects can be picked up across the city, such as telephone booths, mailboxes, and cars can all be picked up and hurled. Simply pick them up and throw them towards the sky or at enemies 50 times in order to unlock the trophy.

And no, you can't pick up enemies or civilians with this ability. It's a shame we know. But could you imagine how much more fun that would be?

  • Defeat 100 civilians.

Make sure you do this during your Bad Karma playthrough and not your Good Karma playthrough, as killing civilians will move your karma towards the evil side. You can earn this as soon as you’ve set foot in New Marais, so once you're in the city go ahead and unleash your carnage.

Kill 100 civilians, and the trophy will unlock. We would put more info into this trophy, but we really doubt you need advice as to how to kill civilians.

  • Defeat 300 enemies.

Enemies, are anything represented as red dots on your mini-map. Militants, swamp monsters, the police, and so on all count towards this trophy. If you made a habit of defeating every enemy you encounter, doing and activating the many side missions, you will easily earn this trophy before you're even close to finishing the game.

Simply defeat 300 enemies and the trophy will unlock. You will definitely earn this naturally.

  • Stop 80 crimes in progress.

It's better to go for this on your good playthrough because the karma bonuses you get from them will help towards getting full positive karma. When you're running around the streets of New Marais, street crimes will occasionally take place which you can choose to ignore or complete them for some quick XP and karma based stunt bonuses. Completing crimes represented in blue will lead to positive karma boosts.

    Street crimes range from:

    Positive Karma

    • Mugging
    • Abduction
    • Bomb
    • Injured Civilians

Complete 80 of these crimes to unlock your trophy. Because these crimes occur at random, there is no real way to grind these other than running around town until they occur. That said, make a habit of doing them during the course of your story so you don't have to grind for these later.

  • Stay off the ground for 130 meters.

Staying off the ground means getting air time; performing parkour on top of buildings and zipping down power lines does not count. In order to unlock the trophy, you must travel a total of 130 meters or more in the air before touching the ground.

You can do this straight off the bat by climbing up the Cathedral in the main island. Locate the building which is on the west side of the island, then make your way up this giant obelisk. Once you're at the very top, take a deep breath, jump off, and use your Static Thrusters (+) and float your way down. Once you've hit the ground, breathe a sigh of relief, applaud yourself for attempting such a crazy feat and your trophy will unlock soon after.

You can also earn this trophy by jumping off the Ice Tower, which is actually a lot more daring but more fun.

  • Send a Helicopter's rockets back at it using any Blast ability.

Your first opportunity to earn this is during the story mission, “Bertran Takes the Stage”. Near the end of the mission you’ll be chased by a helicopter which you must take down in order to progress. Damage it by shooting lightning at it like any other enemy, and eventually, one of its engines will blow up. It will then laser target you, and then shoot two homing rockets at you. Perform a Shockwave Blast(+) just before the missiles hit you and they'll switch directions and head back to the helicopter. If the missiles connect, you'll not only damage it but also unlock your trophy.

If you missed this opportunity, there are several more opportunities where you will be facing a helicopter such as powered down areas where you can find them patrolling the area.

  • Defeat 25 enemies by throwing cars at them.

In order to pick up vehicles, you must have already unlocked the Kinetic Pulse ability, which is automatically unlocked as part of the early on story mission, "Forward Momentum". To perform it, hold to pick up an object or in this case a vehicle, then fire it with or .

Simply defeat 25 enemies by hurling cars at them to unlock the trophy. Note that in order for it to count as a kill by a car, the “Special Delivery” stunt must appear on screen. For added fun, rather than pick up cars that are already parked on the streets, pick up the cars that have a person inside. Not only will you kill the enemy you're going up against, but you'll be able to blow up the car and the driver inside and not gain a single point of negative karma! Two birds with one stone!

  • Hit at least 6 cars in a single Ionic Vortex.

The Ionic Vortex will be made automatically available to you as part of the story, after the “Storm’s Coming” story mission.

Once you’ve unlocked it, simply head to a nearby intersection and start picking up cars with the Kinetic Pulse. Stack them as close to each other as you can and when you have at least 6 cars close together, unleash a Ionic Vortex into the pile with .

Hit at least 6 cars, and the trophy should unlock.

  • Thunder drop into a group of 5 or more enemies.

A Thunder Drop can be performed by jumping down from a high place, then pressing mid air. But you probably already knew that.

You can earn this trophy with ease during the side mission, “Masquerade”. You’ll be tasked in heading to the nearby park, where a bunch of citizens will be posing as statues in which you’ll have to eliminate. Head towards them and once they start attacking, climb up onto a nearby palm tree or the statue in the middle of the park and wait till they gather in one place. Jump and float towards the group, then perform a Thunder Drop on them. You will easily hit 7+ more enemies, as well as unlocking the trophy, along with the Discerning Taste trophy.

See Discerning Taste for a video.

  • Thunder drop from the highest place in New Marais.

The highest place in New Marais as mentioned many times, is that tall behemoth like structure the Ice Tower, located in Gas Works, the third and final unlockable area of the game. Simply climb your way up and get on the very top of the ice tip when located on top. Jump off and press to do a Thunder Drop down and once you’ve landed, the trophy should unlock shortly after.

Hopefully for your efforts from all that climbing, you were able to take out some enemies and destroyed some things in the process with that Thunder Drop.

  • Use the Precision ability to rack up three head shots in rapid succession.

You won’t unlock the Precision power until later on in the story, by competing “Good Gets Better”. Once you’ve completed it, you can access Precision at anytime by pressing on the D-pad.

As described in the trophy, your goal is to do three successful headshots in rapid succession. By that, the “Amazing! 3-in-1 Blow” stunt bonus must show up on screen. Rather than attempt this during the story or a side mission, try to instead look for militants in groups of four patrolling the streets when you're not in a mission. Once you’ve found one, head to a nearby rooftop without gaining their attention, or engage them Rambo style at the risk of sustaining heavy damage, and take aim.

Place three well aimed headshots, and the trophy will unlock.

  • Take down a street performer who is imitating a statue.

You can earn this trophy during the side mission, “Masquerade”. Simply follow Zeke’s instructions and head to the nearby park, and you’ll see a bunch of militants dressed up as statues. Defeat just one of them, and the trophy will unlock.

  • Defeat an enemy or civilian by stepping in water.

Because you have electrical super powers, stepping in pools of water will obviously fry anything in it. For this trophy, you'll have to kill an enemy or civilian while they're in a body of water by stepping in it in order to unlock it. Shooting lightning when an enemy’s in the water does not count.

You can earn this during any story mission or side mission that takes place near or inside the swamp. However, you will have an easier time in earning this, and most likely by complete accident when you've unlocked the second island, Flood Town.

  • Climb a chain link fence and rejoice.

One of the more simple trophies, all you have to do is climb over a fence to unlock the trophy. As description states, it must be a chain link fence and not the wooden ones.

Nothing more to say here, pretty straightforward.

  • Ascend 50 vertical launch poles.

A new addition in this sequel, power lines not only run across from building to building, vertical power lines (or launch poles) can now be found on the side of buildings throughout New Marais. As with the power lines, these will also have the glowing yellow bulbs attached to them. To use one, simply jump up to them and you’ll automatically use it and launch into the air. Launch poles can also be found on metal towers in the train yards and power plants in the second island.

Simply use these vertical launch poles 50 times, and the trophy will unlock. Note that this can be done on the same pole if you wish to do so; it doesn’t have to be 50 different poles. You’ll most likely get this by playing through the game naturally anyways, so there’s no real need to grind it.

  • Use your Ionic Powers 30 times.

Over the course of the story, you’ll unlock Ionic Powers that you can use. You'll unlock your very first Ionic Power, the Ionic Vortex during the story mission, "Storm's Coming". The other Ionic Powers will also be obtained as part of the story, but will be dependent on which karmic play through you're on.

These are activated by pressing on the D-pad. In order to use them though, you’ll need to collect Ionic Energy, which is represented as glowing purple orbs that are occasionally dropped and can be picked up from defeated enemies.

Use any of the Ionic powers 30 times, and the trophy will unlock.

  • Unlock and purchase a power of each type by performing stunts.

See With Great Power Comes Greater Power for details.

  • Create a new mission using the UGC level editor.

While you can spend hours slaving away to create a masterpiece, and if you do then hats off to you, but if you are just look for the trophy then this should take no longer than a minute. Simply pause at any point while playing the game and go to User-Generated Content. You can create an empty mission or a mission from a template, it doesn't matter. Then once you are in the editor, simply Pause > Exit Mission Designer and select save when asked if you want to. The trophy will pop shortly after.

  • Play 10 user-generated missions.

    See "UGC Veteran" for details.

  • Play 25 user-generated missions.

You’ll gain access to User Generated Content after completing the story mission “Karma’s a Bitch", which, although it counts as a side mission, is needed to progress the story of the game. UGC missions show up on the map as a green "i" icon. They vary but most are relatively short and simple. To start you should look at the "Trail Blazer" trophy and get that out of the way for your first 5 levels, then it would probably be best to switch your mission filter to either Featured or Famous missions which will be of a higher quality since, as with most UGC systems, there is a lot of crap out there.

For the purpose of this trophy, you may wish to repeat the same UGC mission over and over again, by saving it to your favorites. You will however only get experience from your first time completing them. Completing one a second time or more will not earn you experience, so unless you don't need the experience for your final few upgrades, it is more efficient to only play each mission once.

**Due to some changes made by the developers recently, the UGC Servers are quite unreliable at this time. However, you can get around these issues:

Problem with UGC cannot connect to server
Finally the solution for the ugc issue!

    • - User-Generated Content Mission.
  • Play 5 user-generated missions under the Newest filter.

You’ll gain access to User Generated Content after completing the story mission “Karma’s a Bitch", which, although it counts as a side mission, is needed to progress the story of the game. UGC missions show up on the map as a green "i" icon. For this trophy you need to select Pause > User-Generated Content > Mission Filters > Show: Newest. Once you've done this it may take a minute for the missions to start showing on your map but once they do they are all from the newest filter. So just proceed to any 5 of your choosing and complete them for this trophy.
