Introduction:
Welcome to Gravity Rush! You play as Kat, a young girl who has control over gravity. Trophy-wise, this game is very straightfoward, with over half of the trophies being dedicated to the story alone. Besides them, there are a few miscellaneous trophies for killing unique enemies, performing feats with a certain attack, talking to people, and - the true challenge of the game - achieving a gold medal on every challenge. None of this is actually particularly difficult though.

None of the trophies are missable, with only one trophy being glitched (All That Glitters, which is easily avoidable), so you can really go through the trophies any which way you please.

Walkthrough:

Step 1: Complete the Story
First of all, you'll want to simply focus on completing the story. There are 21 Episodes, which should only take about 7-10 hours to complete. While doing them, feel free to attempt the challenges or find the manhole/mysterious couple locations, but doing this isn't at all necessary at this stage in the game. You'll likely stumble upon some or most of these through natural progression, but these can be completed at any point in time, so it's easiest to leave until last.

While progressing through the game, avoid upgrading Sliding Kick, Spiraling Claw and Micro Black Hole. The reason for this is that you are rarely in a situation where Sliding Kick is preferable over Gravity Kick or even a standard Kick, whilst the two special attacks pale in comparison to Gravity Typhoon, so there's no point in upgrading them.

Upon completing Step 1, you will earn:

Lost Kat
Learner's Permit
From Oblivion
Shadows Over the City
Home Sweet Home
The Hekseville Phantom
A Meeting with Destiny
The Lost City
Too Many Secrets
A Hundred and One Nights
Letting Old Ghosts Die
Curiosity Killed the Cat
Thick Skin
Look Out Below
Kids Just Don't Understand
The Lost Tribe
Memories of Another World
Children of the Past
Fading Light
Adreaux On Call
Falling to Pieces
An Unguarded Moment
No Rest for the Virtuous

Step 2: Get Gold on all Challenges
With the story complete, your skills should all be considerably upgraded, with the possible exception of the skills mentioned in Step 1. Having upgraded skills will make getting gold on all 20 challenges significantly easier. For help on any specific challenge, please see the Challenge Guide.

Upon completing Step 2, you will earn:

New Challenger
True Challenger
Gold Medalist
Silver Lining
All That Glitters
Top Cat

Step 3: Reach 40,000 Gems/Clean Up
By now, you should have almost every trophy, if not all. Chances are if you're missing any, it would be one of the miscellaneous trophies or, more likely, Gem Aficionado. Please see the respective trophies if you are still missing them.

Upon completing Step 3, you will earn:

Ancient Game Hunter
Burning Game Hunter
Illusory Game Hunter
Frequent Flyer
Pitching Machine
Gravitational Anomaly
Going Underground
Lost in Time and Space
Gem Collector
Gem Aficionado

Which will ultimately unlock:

It's all Relative

Maid Pack DLC

Overview:

  • Estimated Difficulty To Complete: 4/10
  • Approximate Time To Complete: 1-2 hours
  • Offline: 5 / 3
  • Online: 0
  • Missable Trophies: None
  • Minimum Playthroughs Needed: 1
  • Difficulty Affects Trophies: No
  • Glitched Trophies: None
  • Cheats: None

Introduction:
The Maid Pack DLC contains of two story related missions which, like the title suggests, will force you to work as a Maid. A Maid costume that you're able to keep after all the work is done. It also comes with 2 challenges of medium difficulty.

1) COMPLETE THE STORY RELATED MISSIONS

After downloading you'll find the new missions in your mission log. While there is no real order how you should complete them, I advise you to start with the story missions since they'll give you extra reputation points. If this isn't your first DLC pack then you'll be able to further develop your skills to the maximum which could slightly help you with the challenges.

2) COMPLETE THE CHALLENGES

There's 2 challenges which also can be found in your mission log. Neither are that hard though Rift Plane Unlimited Time Attack is definitely the hardest one of the two. Start out with the Auldnoir Free Race II to get the easiest one out of the way so you can focus on Rift Plane Unlimited Time Attack.

Introduction:
The Spy Pack DLC contains of two story related missions that'll require you to infiltrate the Snakerabbits gang to bring peace again to Heksville. It also contains two new challenges that will test some of your skills a lot more than the retail version did and best of all, it comes with a new costume completely fitting to Kat's name.

Walkthrough:

1) COMPLETE THE STORY RELATED MISSIONS

After downloading you'll find the new missions in your mission log. While there is no real order how you should complete them, I advise you to start with the story missions. Not only because they're a great addition to the story and one should always complete the story first IMO but also because they are far easier than the challenges that came with this DLC.

2) COMPLETE THE CHALLENGES

There are 2 challenges which are also to be found in your mission log. I advise you to start first with the Pleajeune Pitching Challenge as it's by far the easiest one of the two so get it out of the way quickly, then you can pay your full attention to the other one i.e Rift Plane Health Race.

Special Forces DLC

Overview:
-Estimated Trophy Difficulty: 3/10 (Personal Rating)
-Breakdown: 8 (5, 3)
-Approximate amount of time to complete: 1-2 hours
-Number of missable trophies: None, the challenges are repeatable
-Glitched Trophies: None
-Do cheat codes disable trophies?: No cheats available

Introduction:
The first piece of DLC for Gravity Rush, the Special Forces DLC Pack has 8 trophies related to the completion of both of its story missions and also for completing both of its challenges with a gold ranking. Please note that you must meet certain criteria in order to attempt elements of this DLC as detailed below.

-To attempt Rules Of War: Complete Episode 17 of the main story.
-The Phantom of Bravery: Complete Rules Of War.
-Endestria Energy Race II: Complete Episode 8 of the
main story.
-Rift Plane Sliding Race: Clear Episode 11 of the main story.

Step One: Complete each DLC Mission

Firstly I would recommend completing both story missions. Once you begin the first mission of the DLC you will unlock the New Recruit trophy. Upon completion of the first chapter of the DLC, you will unlock the The Rules Of War trophy and when you've finished the second mission you will unlock the The Phantom Of Bravery trophy.

Step Two: Compete each DLC Challenge

Once you complete the above step you should have your powers levelled up enough to try the DLC challenges. When you complete the Endestria Energy Race II with a gold ranking, you will unlock the Apprentice Plumber and the World-Class Plumber trophies. When you complete the Rift Plane Sliding Race with a gold ranking you will unlock the Mushroom Slider and the Truffle Slider trophies.

Upon completion of both of these steps, you will unlock the Special Forces trophy.

64 trophies ( 19  40  22  )

  • Collected every trophy. Congratulations!

You've mastered the laws of gravity and made them your own, congratulations!

  • Awakened in Auldnoir.

Story-related. Cannot be missed. You'll receive this simply by walking forward at the beginning of the game.

  • Defeated the rare Nevi in Rift Planes: The Ruins.

You'll first enter the Rift Planes: The Ruins in Episode 6 - however, it isn't recommended you fight the Nevi until you are stronger, as you likely won't be able to defeat it at this stage. In order to reach the rare Nevi, head to the third flower before dropping off the side of the tower. Drop all the way down until you see a hole heading into the tower from below - fly into this chamber to find the Nevi.

Once you're strong enough to face it, head into its chamber and immediately dash in close using Spiraling Claw (), which you should receive in the Rift Planes: The Ruins. Once you're up close and personal, the Nevi will be unable to fire its missiles, so just keep kicking it while evading its occasional swipes. Use the health gems if need be, and if you run out and need more, retreat from the area to get more elsewhere - an infinitely respawning health gem can be located next to the 5th flower after it has been opened. A high Kick level and high Evade level are key to this battle. Don't bother using special attacks to hurt it, as it is immune to special attacks.

  • Defeated the rare Nevi in Rift Planes: The Inferno.

You'll first enter the Rift Planes: The Inferno in Episode 8 - however, it isn't recommended you fight the Nevi until you are stronger, as you likely won't be able to defeat it at this stage. In order to reach the rare Nevi, head to the second flower. Once there, fly underneath and you'll see a bridge-like structure heading into the wall - head in here to find it.

This Nevi is a big brute with several weak points on its back, as well as one on its head. The best strategy for this battle is to stick to the walls of the area and to remain behind him so he can't punch you. Use your Gravity Kick ( while flying) to hit his weak points, before retreating to the wall. Just keep divebombing his weak points one at a time, retreating before he has a chance to punch you. If you need health, the health gem by the second flower restocks infinitely once opened. A high Gravity Kick level is key to this battle. Don't bother using special attacks to hurt it, as it is immune to special attacks.

  • Defeated the rare Nevi in Rift Planes: The Mirage.

You'll first enter the Rift Planes: The Mirage in Episode 10 - however, it isn't recommended you fight the Nevi until you are stronger, as you likely won't be able to defeat it at this stage. Also, due to Dusty being weakened, you'll barely even have enough energy to fly to the Nevi when you first come here, let alone fight it. In order to reach the rare Nevi, head to the third flower and look out into the distance, where you'll see a red, planet-like orb being suspended:

Fly over to it and the Nevi will spawn.

Once you reach it, try get close to it while dodging the red orbs it fires at you. It will cease firing momentarily between barrages, which is the only opportunity you have to attack safely. Use your Gravity Kick ( while flying) to kick the eyes on its back, then keep dodging when it starts firing red orbs again. If you run low on health or need more energy, retreat to stock up - the health gem by the first flower will restock infinitely after opening the flower (thanks to dave87fez for this information) - then head back into the fight. It doesn't heal at all, so take your time. Don't bother using special attacks to hurt it, as it is immune to special attacks.

  • Landed 10 gravity kicks without landing or taking damage.

This is especially easy to do in any of the battle challenges, such as Auldnoir Time Attack or Endestria Time Attack. Auldnoir and Pleajeune Time Attacks have less enemies at a time, so you may find it hard to find enemies, however there are no airborne or ranged enemies early on. Endestria Time Attack has heaps of enemies and is almost entirely airborne, but given most of the enemies are ranged, you can get hit easily if you're not careful, which will force you to start from 0 again. Start one of the battle challenges, then immediately fly into the air. Start Gravity Kicking the enemies, making sure that you never touch the ground or get hit by enemies. You are allowed to fly around between Gravity Kicks, you just cannot touch the ground or get hit. You can easily get 10 before your energy runs out, though it will be significantly easier if your Gravity Kick and/or your Gauge Usage are at a higher level.

  • Hurled 10 objects into enemies without missing or taking damage.

The best place to do this is during one of the Auldnoir challenges, Auldnoir Throwing Challenge. This challenge tasks you with throwing objects at enemies, so it is a perfect scenario. As soon as it starts, grab a few objects with , then fly up away from the enemies. From about 20 yards away, the enemy won't react to you, but you'll be able to throw objects at them in complete safety. Repeat until you hit 10 without missing or taking damage and the trophy will pop. Obviously, a high Stasis Field level is extremely beneficial when attempting this.

  • Defeated 8 enemies with one special attack.

This can be a little difficult, but can be done without too much hassle during the Pleajeune Time Attack Challenge. Upgrade your Gravity Typhoon to at least level 4, then start the challenge. As soon as the challenge starts, leap into the air and use Gravity Typhoon with + . There are 8 enemies in this opening courtyard, so if you're lucky, you'll kill all 8. If you fail, then keep playing the challenge until you return to the courtyard and try again. Returning to the courtyard will allow up to a dozen enemies to be in the vicinity, thus making killing 8 significantly easier.

  • Cleared a challenge.

Simply complete any challenge in the game, of which there are 20. The first available challenge, Auldnoir Time Attack, will appear after fixing the fountain in Episode 3.

See All That Glitters for more details.

  • Cleared EVERY challenge.

Complete all 20 challenges with any score.

See All That Glitters for more details.

  • Gold-medaled a challenge.

See All That Glitters for more details.

  • Earned a silver or better in every challenge.

See All That Glitters for more details.

  • Gold-medaled EVERY challenge.

Glitch Warning: There have been reports of this trophy glitching on the player if your final gold medal is on either of the Boutoume challenges. In this cases, there has been no fix other than to restart. Due to this, it is highly recommended you do not leave the Boutoume challenges to last.

There are a total of 20 challenges scattered throughout the game. In order to unlock a challenge mission, you must first locate and fix a landmark by depositing gems into the furnace of the landmark. The landmark, and subsequently the initial challenge, will be indicated by a green bolt. Once the challenge has been completed once, it will be indicated by a yellow bolt. It is recommended you attempt getting gold on all challenges after completing the game, as you will have upgraded Kat significantly, which will make completing challenges considerably easier.

For a guide on how to earn a gold medal on every challenge, please see my Challenge Guide.

  • Discovered every manhole.

Manholes are Gravity Rush's method of fast travel. There are a total of 13 manholes, 3 in the first three districts and 4 in Vendecentre. You'll likely stumble upon most of these through natural progression.

If you need help finding any, please see my Manhole/Mysterious Couple Location Guide.

  • Heard the mysterious couple’s complete story.

The mysterious couple are a couple who find themselves trapped between the fabrics of reality. In every area of the game, including the three Rift Planes, you'll find both the male and female. You must talk to them in every area in order to hear their story.

If you need help finding them in any area, please see my Manhole/Mysterious Couple Location Guide.

  • Collected a total of 20,000 precious gems.

You'll easily attain this through natural progression, I earned it during Episode 16.

See Gem Aficionado for more details.

  • Collected a total of 40,000 precious gems.

This is cumulative, so you're not required to have 40,000 precious gems on you at one time. By the time you've completed the game, killed the three rare Nevi and achieved a gold medal on every challenge, you'll likely be sitting somewhere between 30,000 and 40,000 total precious gems, depending on how many you've picked up through searching. I actually hit 40,000 before even completing all the challenges, due to exploring a lot and picking up many gems. If however you don't have 40,000 after everything, you'll want to pick up the biggest gems worth 25, which look like this:

Boutoume has an abundance of these mega gems, so travel here and start collecting them. From 30,000, it shouldn't take any more than an hour of gem collecting to hit 40,000.

  • Raised Kat’s reputation to 'Top Cat.'

As you complete Story Missions and Challenges, your reputation amongst the people will begin to rise, allowing you to upgrade your abilities further. In order to reach "Top Cat", you must complete all 21 Story Missions and 20 Challenges, so you'll easily get this by completing the game and going for gold on all Challenges.

DLC: Maid Pack

8 trophies

  • Obtained the Maid costume.

Go to the mission log and activate Side Mission: Maid Pack Part I under DLC missions. Head to the location and start the mission.

You will talk to some old acquaintances who'll ask you to apply for a Maid position. Head to the new location to apply for the job which will require you to need to pass an exam to get the job.

    The answers are:

    • Auldnoir
    • Fish
    • Boy, Frog, Turtle
    • Precious Gems

After answering the correct answers, you'll be hired and acquire the Maid costume.

  • Completed The Diary of a Maid.

Now that you're hired, it's time to start some missions:

    • The first one requires to carry some junk behind the house.
    • The second one consists out of gathering 4 items to make a sundae. The choices doesn’t seem to really matter since she isn't interested in the sundae anymore when you return.
    • The third and last mission as Maid is to collect 5 pages.

Now return with your easy earned money to see the funny conclusion of the whole mission.

  • Completed The Madam and the Shifter.

Go to the mission log and activate Side Mission: Maid Pack Part II under DLC missions. Head to the location and start the mission.

The Mission starts with you trailing Melda. After all the trailing you'll find a letter which instructs you to search amongst the trees nearby, so look for a nearby tree with a page lying under it. Once you pick it up it'll blow out of your hands and right to Melda's husband who has some Nevis swarming around him. Defeat the Nevis and head towards Melda her husband to wrap this mission up.

  • Earned a silver medal or better in Auldnoir Free Race II.

    See Rooftop Runner

  • Earned a gold medal in Auldnoir Free Race II.

Fairly easy challenge. If you got gold on all the challenges of the main game, you'll be able to do this in a handful of tries. It's just a matter of memorizing the track and having shifting speed upgraded to its maximum.

  • Earned a silver medal or better in the Rift Plane Unlimited Time Attack.

    See Maximum Shifter

  • Earned a gold medal in the Rift Plane Unlimited Time Attack.

In this trial you can spam your specials as much to your liking as you want since your special doesn't take any time to recharge. As usual with challenges where you need to take out Nevis, whenever you take out the time extended and the ones who spawn the next pack of Nevis head on to the next pack. Also have your specials upgraded to their maximum.

Now for the strategy: Start out with spamming Micro Black Hole in the center of the first pack of Nevis in front of you. When they're all taken out look to your right and start taking out those plant Nevis with Gravity Typhoon. Now head out to the third pack and get to the center again to use Micro Black Hole, then use Gravity Typhoon for any Nevis that are left over. When that is done head out to the fourth pack and start by getting in the middle of those two big Nevis and take them out with either Micro Black Hole or Gravity Typhoon. Now those shark like Nevis will spawn, also take them out with Gravity Typhoon and after those are taken out a new pack will spawn, again just spam gravity typhoon. Now the next pack will spawn which consists of those Nevis that spam purple balls and the hedgehog like Nevis. Head out to them and try to get in the middle so most of the hedgehog like Nevis try to attack you and open up, then you can use Gravity Typhoon to take them out while taking out the other Nevis.

When you're done here the next pack will spawn. There's nothing special about them since they're all apart from each other in groups of 2 or 3, get to them as fast as you can and use whatever attack suits best. Now the next pack that spawns is the pack that it all started with, rinse and repeat.

  • Cleared every mission and challenge mission in the Maid Pack.

This will unlock as soon as you have completed all the missions and challenges in the Maid Pack DLC. You don't even need to earn a medal in the challenges.

DLC: Spy Pack

8 trophies

  • Obtained the Spy costume.

Go to mission log and activate Side Mission: Spy Pack Part I under DLC missions. Head to the location and start the mission. And as soon as you start the mission Syd will hand you over the costume to go undercover.

  • Completed A Time to Play.

Go to mission log and activate Side Mission: Spy Pack Part I under DLC missions. Head to its starting location to begin the mission.

Syd will ask you to take care of a gang called the Snakerabbits who’ve been terrorizing Heksville with their skyboats. The mission itself contains of following a big guy to the Snakerabbits their hideout. Once there you’ll need to complete 2 races. The first one is against the leader and the second one is against the big guy you followed. Both should pose no trouble if your Shifting Speed is upgraded to its max (11/11). After completing those races, the last part part will start which is taking out some Nevis that appeared.

  • Completed The Dreamlife of Ghosts.

Go to mission log and activate Side Mission: Spy Pack Part II under DLC missions. Head to its starting location to begin the mission.

Alias makes his reappearance. Head to Aki who'll give you another one of her fortune telling lists with things to do.

    • Head to the station to meet up with Kish.
    • Select your map and head out to the two rumour spots.
    • Then you'll get contacted that they’ve found the bomb in the forest in front of the church. Head towards it.
    • Pick up the bomb with your gravity field and bring it to Chaz who will defuse it.

When that's done you will head back in the fortune telling shop and Aki will give you another list again.

    • You'll need to follow a pigeon again but this time it's in a pack.
    • The bomb is located above the mystery graffiti door. Use your gravity field and Chaz will contact you.
    • Go pick up Chaz and bring him to the bomb.

After this you'll need to get a bomb at the place where it all started.

You can easily access the location from the air so just fly through the sky and then dive down. Now use your stasis field and bring it again to Chad but this time Chad will require some passwords so quickly answer his (embarrassing) questions. The answers are: A) Shower, B) Dusty, C) Pipe house.

Now Alias will contact you for a final showdown so head towards to the location where you beat him.

After arriving, he'll send a lot of Nevis towards you again, take them out then find out who was hiding under the mask and take him to Syd to answer for his crimes.

  • Earned a silver medal or better in the Pleajeune Pitching Challenge.

    See All Star Pitcher.

  • Earned a gold medal in the Pleajeune Pitching Challenge.

Go to mission log and select Pleajeune Pitching Challenge under DLC missions. Now head towards the starting point and start it, of course have stasis field at its max to make things easier for yourself.

Now, my advice is to make every shot count. You'll see plenty of balls lying around and it'll make you want to just spam your shots without properly aiming since the balls are self-guided. However this is the worst strategy and since the balls are self-guided, you don't need pinpoint accuracy. Just make sure your target is somewhat in your aim and fire away, that's as far as aiming goes. Now this should speak for itself but pay attention to when you get time extended and then head out to each new Navi as soon as it appears. By no means waste your time clearing out every area since you desperately need those Nevis that give you time bonuses.

  • Earned a silver medal or better in the Rift Plane Vitality Race.

    See Fireproof Racer.

  • Earned a gold medal in the Rift Plane Vitality Race.

One of the hardest if not the hardest challenge you can find in the game and as much as I do want to give a solid piece of advice, each person has their own preferred way of doing the races depending on their strengths in this game. I'm going to direct you to this thread which has a lot of pointers: Rift Plane Vitality Race Tips

  • Cleared every mission and challenge mission in the Spy Pack.

Will unlock as soon as you have completed all the missions and challenges in the Spy Pack DLC. Note that you just need to complete the challenges, you don't even need to earn a medal to unlock this trophy.

DLC: Special Forces Pack

8 trophies

  • Obtained the Special Forces costume.

The Special Forces costume will be unlocked after the first cutscene during the mission Rules Of War.

  • Completed The Rules of War.

The mission begins by facing you face-off against sea wasp to see who can destroy more dummies. Simply float and gravity kick all dummies indicated on screen until a prompt appears to save a soldier, use you stasis field to carry him to the marker this triggers a cutscene.

After the cutscene you will be tasked with saving four civilians, simply fly to their markers, use stasis to lift them and then bring them to the destination. If you wish you may bring several civilians at a time, however once you collect one civilian the markers of the others will disappear, so you must remember the locations of them if you want to find them. Once you bring back all four another cutscene will be triggered.

Once again you will have to bring back four civilians but this time you must contend with Nevi in the air. When flying back with civilians make sure to avoid the Nevi, if you are hit you will drop the civilian. Upon completion another cutscene is triggered.

You must now go back to the plaza and fight off the remaining Nevi. As the soldiers will suggest, fight only the Nevi in the air, be careful not to fly too high or you will respawn back on the ground. As always use a combination of gravity kick and float to defeat the Nevi. Once the Nevi in the air are defeated, you must then defeat any remaining Nevi on the ground. After that the mission will be complete and trophy unlocked.

  • Completed The Phantom of Bravery.

Once the cutscene at the beginning of this mission is over, you will be tasked with defeating a number of Nevi without gravity shifting powers. This part is very easy if you kick power is levelled reasonably high, simply use your combos by pressing square, when you have to fight Nevi with the weak spot off the ground simply jump and kick them instead. The Nevi here are very weak and die in 2-3 hits.

Once that has been complete, you will be tasked with extinguishing fires on the hull of the ship and on the ground in the city. Firstly use both fire extinguishers on the top of the ship on two of the fires. To extinguish all remaining fires you must use the water tanks from the roofs of buildings on the ground in the city, stand right beside them and use stasis field to lift them. You may simply fly though the fire while holding the water tank or throw them at the fire – either will work fine. Be aware of the Hulls' health meter, because of this you are better off to extinguish any hull fires first. Once all fires are extinguished, breathe a sigh of relief the worst part is over.

Finally you will be tasked with defeating any remaining Nevi. If you are in need of health, there are plenty of pick ups just below the ship. After the defeating the final Nevi, the mission will conclude and the trophy will unlock.

  • Earned a gold medal in the Rift Plane Sliding Race.

This challenge consists of 24 checkpoints and must be completed within 2:00:00 in order to unlock the gold medal. Make sure you have Gravity Slide at level 5 or 6, this will make it much easier. You need to use the motion control function within this challenge and when using it pretend the Vita is a steering wheel and only gently turn it rather than turning it fully on its side. You will also need to use the jump motion function, again only a slight flick of the Vita is necessary. Another technique to use is the drift, when you lift one of your thumbs from the Vita while sliding you will stop in place and you will be able to make much sharper turns than usual. When you lift a thumb when using the drift technique you will turn in the direction of the other thumb, so if you lift your left thumb you will drift to the right and vice-versa.
