Hold Still Please Trophy in God of War: Ascension

  • Hold Still Please

Slow 100 Enemies with the Amulet of Uroborus

How to unlock Hold Still Please

After defeating Pollux in Chapter 12, you will fall into the Passage of Delphi (Chapter 13). At the very beginning of it you will pick up the Amulet of Uroborus off of Pollux’s body, which will allow you to Decay/Heal innanimate objects as well as slow enemies.

To slow an enemy press +. Using it on one enemy repeatedly will count towards trophy each time. I for example unlocked it after using it 4 times in a row on a single Satyr General. Because of this you could farm one enemy, or groups of enemies if you have the upgrade, for all 100 slows.

By default there is a 20 second cooldown on each use and only targets one enemy. For 5000 orbs you can upgrade it to be a 10 second cooldown and the slow becomes a large sphere; slowing multiple enemies and even projectiles that comes in contact with it. Use it every time an enemy is in range and it is off of cooldown. Always aim for the strongest target when you can do so safely.

The Amulet is extremely useful so I would advise upgrading it as soon as possible if you have the orbs to spare. Not only will it make this trophy easier it will also make several parts of the game less difficult as well.

    Best Farming Location: Chapter 20

    • (For those with fully loaded and/or not going to farm for it) Load up Chapter 20 and you will immediately see several small insects on the ground—if for some reason you don't your save point is in the wrong location, so skip to the next farming spot below. Run to the bottom right corner and hold down until they group up on you. Once they do use your amulet (+) to slow them all. Rinse and repeat until it unlocks. (Thanks to geoman19 for testing the location and confirming it works.)
    • (For those that want to farm for Fully Loaded and Slows simultaneously) See Fully Loaded for the Spartan farming method, but include + attacks every time it is off of cooldown.

  • does anyone know if this has to be done on 100 different enemies? its the last trophy i need for my platinum
  • this is the last i need too
  • Best place I found to farm this was at the Shoulder of Apollo, when Megaera (the spider-fury) fights you in the imaginary sparta town. Attack the phalanx she summons at first, until she comes down herself. Attack her until she jumps up onto the roof of one of the buildings and summons more Spartan Warriors. Then, just keep using the Amulet on them one at a time, hit them a few times in the air, then hold block until the cooldown recharges. Rinse and repeat. Megaera will summon more warriors indefinitely as long as you don't throw the spears at her. It took me about 20-30 minutes to get the trophy to pop using this method.
  • This is a video to help you. I did what fyerdemon11 said but I got into a glitch. see the video to get what I mean. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=205f-828s9E This is the place to farm for the trophy. It is in chapter 20. In the video I showed the glitch but got the trophy right before it happened. If it happened before the trophy press select and restart. This is my third try though.
  • Another good place to farm this is in Chapter 25 (The Furnace). Shortly after the beginning of the chapter you are taken to a platform where you have to grapple and throw enemies into the fire to make the platform rise. As long as you don't throw any of them into the fire they will spawn indefinitely. You can farm this one and Tag Teamed at the same time.
  • I just got this by doing it on only one enemy. I bought the game in Sweden and i'm using the latest update.
  • I grinded this where you fight a blueish black spear girl for the first time. She summons two harpies, which I kept slowing down. Easier than the Spartan soldiers, as the harpies hardly attack. Make sure to have an upgraded stone, or just use it a lot during the initial playthrough.
  • Its actually chapter 19, Gauntlet of Apollo
  • ok guys, here is how you farm this trophy. it is in chapter 20: Shoulder of Apollo. this is where you fight Megaera in the Spartan town (in kratos' illusion). avoid her attacks and get a few hits in and get rid of some of the spartan soldiers as well. this will force her up to the roofs, from where she will summon Spratan warriors. This is where you can farm the trophy. Simply use the Amulet of Uroborus on a warrior and quickly unleash hits and kill him, do the same on the remaining 3 warriors. You can continue doing this on and on as Megaera will keep spawning 4 warriors each time you kill all of them off. Howvever, there is a glitch! As mentioned by the other users here, I did encounter the glitch too. After say about 15-20 spawns of warriors later or so, Megaera will dissapear and y
  • you will be stuck in the level being forced to reload checkpoint and lose your progress towards the trophy. This is where i found a work around the glitch. After about 11 or 12 spawns of guards, use the spear and take down Megeara off the roof. Initiate the button minigame with her when she drops down. Deliberately lose the minigame, and she will counter you (Kratos will take some damage) and go back atop the roofs and spawn more Spartan warriors. From here you can fight another few more spawns(say about 3 or 4) and bring her back down again, initiate the minigame, deliberately lose, and repeat the whole process. This worked for me, and the glitch never occured, and the trophy popped! This chapter can also be used to farm some large red orbs. Use the Ice of poseidon on 1 or 2 out o
  • of the 4 guards, while using the amulet of Uroborus on the other 2-3 of them. Using the amulet and killing the guards will give you blue orbs, replenishing your magic. And killing the guards after using Ice of poseidon magic will reward you large red orbs. Sorry, its a bit of a lengthy to read. But it definitely works. Cheers!
  • it works on chapter 25 - the furnace too. after getting the glitch 3 times on chapter 20, i gave up and tried chapter 25 the furnace. i just used the amulet on the dog, killed it, waited for respawn and repeat. trophy didn't pop, so kicked one onto the flame and tried it on a few of the goats afterwards and trophy popped. make sure you use it at least a couple of times on the goats after the dogs. finally got the platinum!
  • Do we have to do it in one chapter??
  • I think it can be done over multiple play throughs. Just got my platinum today. Feels nice.
  • chapter 19 is a good place to do this but chapter 25 is easier. they only spawn 1 at a time as long as you don't throw any in the fire. plus if you've been using the amulet since you got it, you shouldn't have much more to do before the trophy appears. by the time i got to CH.25 I only had to slow 16 more foes before i got it.
  • I won the trophy in chapter 25, is the easiest way to win it, simply use the amulet in the dogs and then kill them (do not throw them in the fire) easy easy.
  • I found the BEST place to get this and the "Maybe you should call a Doctor?" thropy, it´s on chapter 18 after you you have put the "rock" beatwen the cog to stop it from moving, in the next room where you see an Hive with the electric buggs coming out of it, just hit a few times then roll to the bottom Right side, the bugs will keep spawning infinitely. I managed to keep the the rage meter upp longer than 3minutes. Just make sure you dont hit the Hive. This is allso an exelent spot to get easy farm of redorbs and that way get the "Fully Loaded" Thropy.
  • Made 25000 Orbs on that part in like 30mins or so, so this means that the orbs wont stop from coming.
  • Took a little while about 2 hours but I manage to got the trophy so good so close to get last trophy and i'll be happy WOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
  • I need help! The "Hold Still Please" trophy refuses to unlock and I'm positive that I've reached the target several times over. I'm not playing on a NewGame+ so I don't know why this wont unlock. I was running the 1.03 patch all campaign (Hard) with no result, I deleted the patch and tried on the original 1.00 software and still nothing. PLS HELP!
  • Accidentally began a New Game + and screwed the Chapter Select. Gonna have to play again just for this trophy =/
  • I don't suppose there's a place you can go to find out how many "slowdowns" you've already done? I swear I've used this power enough but the trophy still hasn't unlocked.
  • NM, I finally got this trophy to pop. I did it at the top of the fire elevator where you have to throw enemies into the flames. I got all the way to the top (where the fire goes out and there's a green, blue, and red chest) with three enemies still alive. I just kept blasting them until I got the trophy. Took a long time because, for some reason, I just hardly ever used the slow-down when playing through the first time. I don't know why because that and your duplicate are valuable weapons...
  • This trophy...is fucking bullshit. This is the first trophy to ever give me a big FUCK YOU in my life. I had trophies glitch before, but this one? Noooooo glitching was not enough for this asshole!!! Because EVERY SINGLE FREAKING TIME I use the amulet TWICE IN SUCCESSION IN A FIGHT, IT ALWAYS RESETS MY PS3!!! Im not kidding! I was forced to go though the entire game without using the amulet because it would reset my PS3. I actually thought something was wrong with my PS3 and went to the technical support team to get a solution. I was considering getting a new slim PS3 since I heard those have better cooling systems in place (Mine is a fat 80GB version) But then I noticed the pattern, then I tried finishing my fights without it, IT NEVER RESETED!!! I was really hoping to maybe get this plat
  • Cont. but fuck it, Im not gonna torture myself and risk my PS3 anymore. This trophy can go fuck itself, simple as that.
  • I wouldn't recommend trying to farm this without having auto-save on, mainly because if you die, you lose all the progress you made towards your count. My recommendation is to beat the game first, then start from chapter 19 with auto-save on. Each time you use the amulet it will counted; even on the same enemy. There are parasites you can spam in both chapters 19 and 20 towards your count. If you get bored, you can progress through the story and just keep using the amulet whenever you're in battle. I literally keep a pen and paper and tracked my count. You might want to do the same.
  • Follow the guide. If you happen to miss the bugs at that save, just start the boss fight which is RIGHT after that area. Slow the Spartans you fight. It took me about 30 minutes to get it. A pain in the ass, but you are making a dent...despite feeling like nothing is happening >
  • #5 Actually the Furnace isn't a very good place to farm it together with the Tag Teamed, because the Orkos copy will kick some of the enemies into the fire by mistake making it go upwards, ending the respawn point and it's out of your hands cause you dont control where that copy kicks them and shit. Sure, you can farm the Uroborus amulet here, but not the Tag Teamed.
  • This trophy is why I think achievement tracking should be mandatory in games from now on.
  • The last trophy I need. Could've sworn I've slowed well over 100 enemies by now... but oh well.
  • Yeah this has gotten be glitched in some way - I didn't do any farming, but I was constantly using the Amulet coz it's so darn useful! Never had it pop through my natural playthrough, so I guess I'll have to give farming a go, which sucks...
  • I can't believe I didn't get this one from my Hard playthrough. You have to use it constantly just to survive...
  • Hi, there! I found a helpful glitch at Chapter 19. When you find many bugs and two nests, don't do anything (don't kill then). Go forward and you will see two chests (green and blue) on the outside (where you have to grab a rope to go down, but don't do this). Now, as long as you stay there attracting the bugs, they will stop attacking you for some unknown reason. Use your amulet until the trophy pop-up.
  • Did it on chapter 29 using it on the poison-throwing green woman. Maybe not as easy as in other chapters listed above, but very manageable and definitely faster, since it accounts all uses you made of the amulet during the whole game, since this is your last regular fight. Kill one of them using fire magic, keep dodging the poison or blocking the attacks of the other as needed. Freeze her with the amulet inbetween. It's very easy even on Hard, as she doesn't attack often and telegraphs all her attacks.
  • i can just confirm you that large area doesn't work but keep shooting on same enemy works, because i just keep shooting green sh*t to those bugs on beginning of chapter 20. there were like 10 bugs together stick together but i shoot at them for 79 times then the trophy pops
  • don't do what I did and start a new game plus, you are told after starting that trophies are locked out so I have had to start a whole new game for this one last trophy. very crap that this warning doesn't appear before you commit.
