Show / Hide Guide Road Map

- Estimated Difficulty: 5 out of 10.
- Approximate Time: 80-120 Hours.
- Offline: 36 Trophies.
- Online: 0 Trophies.
- Glitched Trophies: *None.
- Missable Trophies: None.

*Important Note #1: Final Fantasy XIII comes with Custom Themes for the XMB. They are unlocked as you earn Trophies. They're accessible from the main menu, under "Special". Installing these themes and continuing forward in the game - without quitting first - can cause certain trophies to not unlock, even if the requirements are met. Just to be safe, quit the game after installing these themes, or don't bother with them at all until you've obtained the Platinum. Thanks to ycl71 for this information.

Important Note #2: This Road Map & Trophy Guide is based on the Japanese Version of Final Fantasy XIII. As such, when the English Version is released, there will be inevitable differences in some of the enemy names, item names, and so forth. When the time comes, I will try to make modifications as necessary.

Step #1: Complete the Game.
This is important to do first because it will unlock Crystallium Lv. 10, which will allow characters to become Role Lv. 5 in each of their six roles. This will make all of the Cie'th Stone Missions etc. much easier. 13 of the 36 Trophies are story related. Limit Breaker, Loremaster, Pulsian Pioneer, and Superstar can also be easily earned along the way, if you so desire. After the final battle, you will be able to return to almost all of the previous areas (and you can do the final boss battle multiple times). In other words, it's "free roam" and all Trophies can be obtained on a single playthrough.

Step #2: Cie'th Stone Missions.
There are 64 Cie'th Stone Missions in the game. They are available starting in Chapter 11. Missions #21-26 will be completed during the course of the storyline, and although the others are also accessible, it is best to wait until Crystallium Lv. 10 has been unlocked. Missions are ranked in their difficulty; Rank D is the easiest, Rank A is the hardest. 8 of the 36 Trophies are from these missions, and ultimately, you will need to complete each of them with a 5-Star Ranking for L'Cie Paragon. This will seem difficult at first, but beating Mission #64 will reward you w/ an accessory called "Gold Watch." This accessory makes it much easier to 5-Star missions, so if you don't 5-Star them on your first attempt, don't sweat it - they're repeatable.

Step #3: Treasure Hunter.
The most time-consuming task in the game and it deserves its own section. You will need to create *every weapon and accessory in the game* for this one, and it will require *a lot* of farming turtles, Adamantaimais and Xiao Long Guis in particular. Refer to the Trophy Guide for more details.

Step #4: Clean Up.
If you missed anything, such as Gysahl Wreath, Superstar etc. now is the time to complete them.

[PS3T Would Like to Thank Aeliana for this Road Map]

Commando's Seal
Mastered the Commando role. (8)

Attain Role Lv. 5 in the Attacker Role. Note that Role Lv. 5 is only accessible in Crystallum Lv. 10, which does not become available until after the last boss has been defeated.

Ravager's Seal
Mastered the Ravager role. (1)

Attain Role Lv. 5 in the Blaster Role. Note that Role Lv. 5 is only accessible in Crystallium Lv. 10, which does not become available until after the last boss has been defeated.

Sentinel's Seal
Mastered the Sentinel role. (1)

Attain Role Lv. 5 in the Defender Role. Note that Role Lv. 5 is only accessible in Crystallium Lv. 10, which does not become available until after the last boss has been defeated.

Saboteur's Seal
Mastered the Saboteur role. (1)

Attain Role Lv. 5 in the Jammer Role. Note that Role Lv. 5 is only accessible in Crystallium Lv. 10, which does not become available until after the last boss has been defeated.

Synergist's Seal
Mastered the Synergist role. (1)

Attain Role Lv. 5 in the Enhancer Role. Note that Role Lv. 5 is only accessible in Crystallium Lv. 10, which does not become available until after the last boss has been defeated.

Medic's Seal
Mastered the Medic role. (1)

Attain Role Lv. 5 in the Healer Role. Note that Role Lv. 5 is only accessible in Crystallium Lv. 10, which does not become available until after the last boss has been defeated.

Limit Breaker
Dealt 100,000+ damage with a single attack. (16)

The easiest method to unlock this trophy is with Bahamut's "Mega Flare" in Drive Mode. It can also be done via the "Genji Glove" accessory which allows a character to break the 99,999 Damage Limit.

Adamant Will
Felled a heavyweight of the lowerworld wilds. (12)

After completing Missions #35-51, Adaman Tortoise enemies will be replaced with a new enemy, Long Gui. Long Gui is one of the most formidable foes in the game and have 16,200,000 HP and a number of devastating attacks. Unlike the Adaman Tortoise, Long Gui is also immune to the insta-kill effect of Vanille's "Death" spell. Although there are a multitude of successful strategies which can be used to defeat Long Gui, here's one of mine:

Leader: Fang (Kain's Lance, Sprint Shoes)
Member #1: Lightning (Omega Weapon, Sprint Shoes)
Member #2: Vanille (Nirvana or Malboro Wand, Sprint Shoes)

Paradigm #1: Sentinel/Sentinel/Sentinel (Default Paradigm)
Paradigm #2: Saboteur/Saboteur/Saboteur
Paradigm #3: Synergist/Synergist/Synergist
Paradigm #4: Ravager/Ravager/Ravager
Paradigm #5: Commando/Commando/Commando
Paradigm #6: Medic/Medic/Medic

First and foremost, use shrouds before the battle begins.

Start off in Paradigm #1 to survive Long Gui's Quake/Stomp/Ultima. His attacks come slowly, but they hit hard; as a general rule, whenever he is about to unleash attacks, switch to this Paradigm. If your characters are Rank 5 in all roles, you should survive his initial assault.

Switch to Paradigm #2 and make sure to stick Slow on him, as this will drastically reduce the frequency of his attacks. Then stick Bio, De-Protect, De-Shell, and Weak on one of his feet. Switch to Paradigm #3 and buff yourself. Long Gui is weak to Fire, so the En-Fire spell should increase your damage considerably. Now, the fun begins...

Switch to Paradigm #4 and let loose on one of his feet, the one you debuffed earlier. Attack it 'til it breaks and finish it off w/ Fang's "Highwind" which, at 999.99% Stagger, should do over 1.5 Mil. Damage. Rinse and repeat for the other foot, and remember to switch into Paradigm #1 when the enemy attacks, then Paradigm #6 to recover from it. Once both feet have been broken, Long Gui will fall to the ground - This is your opportunity to do *a lot* of damage. Buff yourself, debuff him, then let loose with Paradigm #4 until he is at 999.99% Stagger, then switch to Paradigm #5 to bring on the pain. Although Long Gui will eventually recover and stand again, repeat the aforementioned process until he's down for the count.

Master's Seal
Fully developed all characters. (20)

Attain Role Lv. 5 in all six roles for each character, as well as learn all abilities/stats on the "branching paths" of the Crystallium.

Treasure Hunter
Held every weapon and accessory. (51)

The most difficult (read: time consuming) trophy in the game, as it requires a *lot* of farming Adamantaimais for their Platinum Ingots and Trapezohedrons, and Xiao Long Guis for their Dark Matters. Equip the accessories "Collector Catalog" (to increase the Drop Rate of Platinum Ingots) and "Connoisseur Catalog" (to increase the Drop Rate of Trapezohedrons and Dark Matters) to make this process easier. For the trophy, you must possess (not necessarily all at the same time) every weapon and accessory in the game, which boils down to a lot of cash-intensive synthesis.

Each character has 8 "base weapons" which I will refer to as "Tier 1." All Tier 1s are available to purchase in the shop and are not missable. All Tier 1s must to be upgraded to Tier 2, and *one* Tier 2 weapon must be upgraded to Tier 3. Tier 3 is a character's "ultimate weapon" and there are eight variants of it, depending on the Tier 2 weapon used to create it; however, creating only one of the variants satisfies the conditions for the trophy.

Similarly, almost all of the Tier 1 accessories are also available in the shop; a small handful are only found in chests and/or missions, but almost all are accessible after the last boss. Tier 1 accessories must be upgraded to their maximum Tiers. Do not - I repeat, do not - desynthesize/sell any of the Elemental Rings (especially the Aqua Ring, found in Chapters 6 & 9) before transforming it into the Riptide Ring & Nereid Ring. This one has caused a few folks some grief, so it's best to "play it safe" and not sell any accessories 'til the end.

Once this task has been completed, return to the Oerba Village and speak with Bhakti; he will assess the "completeness" of your arsenal and say "Soubihin wa bacchiri desu!" ("Your equipment is flawless!") if you haven't missed any weapons or accessories. This is the final requirement for the trophy.

"Treasure Hunter" unlocks Fang's Theme for the XMB.

Loremaster
Discerned the full attributes of 100 enemies. (9)

This is the easiest Gold Trophy in the game and it should come naturally; for me, it unlocked sometime in Chapter 10. Using the TP Ability "Libra" can - and will - hasten the scanning process. If you would like to see how many enemies have been fully scanned, check the "Enemy Intel" in the menu; enemies which have a "check mark" next to them are considered complete and are counted towards the total.

"Loremaster" unlocks Sazh's Theme for the XMB.

Story related. It will unlock towards the end of Chapter 13.

Pulsian Pioneer
Took over 10,000 steps on the lowerworld surface. (7)

You must complete a side quest in the Oerba Village; it can be accessed starting in Chapter 11. One of the houses contains a broken robot, Bhakti, who needs to be repaired. The items needed to repair him (Power Cable, Battery Pack, Trochoid Gear, Aspherical Lens, and Metal Plate) are scattered around the village and will appear as a "?" when approached. One of them must be obtained from an enemy in the area; be sure to defeat all the enemies as you look around for these items. Locate the five items (they are all in obvious locations and are hard to miss), then return to Bhakti.

If the trophy does not immediately unlock, you'll need to walk around some more on Gran Pulse to meet the required 10,000 Steps. Grind more, do a few Cie'th Stone Missions, etc. and return to Oerba Village later on to see if the requirement has been fulfilled.

Gysahl Wreath
Discovered buried treasure with a little help from a chocobo. (3)

Chocobos will become available after completing Mission #14. While riding on a chocobo, if he detects a buried treasure, a "!" will appear above his head. If the "!" is bouncing slowly, you are far from the treasure; if it is bouncing quickly, you are getting closer to the treasure. Also, the direction a chocobo's head is facing is another indication of the treasure's direction. You need to find the item "Ribbon" for this trophy to unlock; Japanese websites suggest that this is a fairly rare (and random) drop, but many members here have found it on their 20th Dig.

Kelger's Cup
Completed all low-level Cie'th Stone missions. (1)

Complete all Rank D Missions. These are Missions #1-5. Refer to the "Detailed Strategies for Mission Bosses" section (here) for more information.

Exorcist
Triumphed over undying lowerworld souls in seven fierce battles. (3)

Floraphobe
Toppled a green terror and cut an oversized succulent down to size. (5)

Dorgann's Trophy
Completed all high-level Cie'th Stone missions. (2)

Complete all Rank B Missions. These are Missions #16-17, 23-27, 29-34, 38, 40, 42-43, 47, 50, 54, and 58. Refer to the "Detailed Strategies for Mission Bosses" section (here) for more information.

Galuf's Grail
Completed all Cie'th Stone missions. (3)

Complete all 64 Missions. Refer to the "Detailed Strategies for Mission Bosses" section (here)for more information.

L'Cie Paragon
Earned a 5-star ranking for all Cie'th Stone missions. (13)
Complete all 64 Missions with a 5-Star Ranking. Stars are awarded based on the overall time of the battle and the speed at which commands are entered. Your equipped weapons also affect the time limit; stronger weapons will reduce it, while weaker weapons will increase it. Note that this becomes *significantly* easier after completing Mission 64 - This mission rewards you w/ the "Gold Watch" accessory which increases the amount of time to earn 5-Star Rankings. Refer to the "Detailed Strategies for Mission Bosses" section (here) for more information.

"L'Cie Paragon" unlocks Snow's Theme for the XMB.
Superstar
Earned a 5-star ranking in the battle to determine the world's fate. (19)
5-Star the final form of the last boss. Only the *final form* is necessary. It will be difficult on one's first try (and without Crystallium Lv. 10), but it is certainly possible. For an easier time, do this battle a second time w/ more powerful characters who have been trained throughout the course of the Cie'th Stone Missions.

"Superstar" unlocks Lightning's Theme for the XMB.
