Guide By: Xander45
There are 12 Trophies that can be earned in this title.

Show / Hide Guide Road Map

This is a HD remake of the classic 1990 Sega Genesis platformer of the same name. With the original game's director, Emiko Yamamoto, fulfilling the same role here you know that this game will pay loving tribute to the original, but more than that it's a great platformer in its own right! Take control of Mickey as he bounces his way through the Castle of Illusion and defeats the witch Mizrabel to save his beloved Minnie.

Step 1: Play through the levels collecting all diamonds, statue pieces, playing cards and chili peppers along the way.

This is the main step of the game, inside the main hub (the castle itself) you'll find several doors. To begin with only one will be available to you, but as you collect diamonds the others will follow suit. Inside each door are three more doors, 2 of which contain 75 diamonds, a statue piece and another varying collectible. You need to collect everything from these levels and if you follow the videos provided in this great series of videos by groungh then you'll do just that.

100% Walkthrough Videos

If you don't wish to follow the videos on your first run through then don't worry about keeping track on what you've already gotten. When you get near the level doors all the relevant info for that level will appear, including how many diamonds you've collected and if you've picked up the statue piece and card/pepper. Also when you replay the levels anything you have already collected will change from silver to gold.

As you go through the game you'll bounce on a lot of enemies' heads but don't forget to also use your projectiles () as you'll need to kill 25 this way to get Illusion Breaker. Once you've killed 75 enemies by any means, you'll also receive Disillusioned.

In this step you will earn;

World of Illusion
Quackshot
Masters of Illusions
Castle Decor
Masters of Illusion
Pretty Picture
Fortune Hunter
Money Bags
Disillusioned
Illusion Breaker

Step 2: Replay Toyland Act 2 to cleanup remaining trophies.

If you return to a completed level you will see a large pocket watch floating above you near the start. If you pick this up a clock will start and will time your run through the level. The best level to do this is Act 2 of Toyland then you can kill two birds with one stone and complete a speed run of the level whilst also jumping on the 7 enemies described in the trophy description of Superbounce.

In this step you will earn;

Superbounce
Tick Tock

World of Illusion
Collect all the Magic Playing Cards.

These are floating playing cards that you'll spy on your journey through the Castle of Illusion. There are 5 in all and they appear in the levels;

  • Enchanted Forest Act 1 - This is found at the end of the platforming section once you go through the door at the crossroads. If you fall you can re-enter the door and try again as many times as you like.
  • Enchanted Forest Act 2 - After jumping across the rotating platforms carried by ghosts you will be able to bounce on a mushroom enemy to reach a branch. From here you can jump on a series of ghosts to reach a cloud platforming section, at the end of this is the card. If you fall you can climb back up and try again as many times as necessary.
  • Toyland Act 1 - Quite far into the level you will reach a green box with a key floating above it. To reach this you must jump on some small red toy boats. Instead of jumping right for the key, jump left instead to get the card
  • Toyland Act 2 - After the area where you can flip the room around you'll land near some red blocks of jelly. Jump into and through these blocks to find a chest containing the card.
  • The Storm Act 1 - You will spot this as you go through the level but will get knocked down away from it by the water. Simply use the swinging ropes after that to get higher and back track to the card.

If you're struggling to find them then follow the 100% walkthrough videos found in Step 1 of the Walkthrough, or under the trophy description for Money Bags.

Quackshot
Collect all of Donald's Chili Peppers.

These are large floating chili peppers that are usually hidden away in quite hard to find areas. There are 5 in all and they appear in the following levels;

  • The Storm Act 2 - After the underwater section with the diamonds stuck to the sides of pieces of fallen rock there will be a short series of crumbling platforms you'll need to get across to get the pepper. It is in a chest at the end of this.
  • The Library Act 1 - In the section of the level after the first milkshake pool where there are lots of green and red bouncing jelly blocks the pepper is inside a green block in the bottom right.
  • The Library Act 2 - This is at the end of the swimming section once you fall into the second cup of tea.
  • The Castle Act 1 - This is in a chest near the start of the level above a mace throwing guard. To reach the area you can jump on the mace as he throws it and land on the open trapdoor, or kill the guard and jump up to there from where he was standing. The chest is in the little area after that.
  • The Castle Act 2 - Late in the level you will come to some gears you can stand on, not just gears with platforms on. If you let the one on the far right take you all the way round it will drop you down on top of the last pepper.

If you're struggling to find them then follow the 100% walkthrough videos found in Step 1 of the Walkthrough, or under the trophy description for Money Bags.

Masters of Illusions
Defeat Mizrabel and rescue Minnie.

You will get this for defeating the final boss of the game, Mizrabel. Like all bosses in the game she attacks in a set pattern and for the most part can be avoided by simply jumping at the right time. If you are struggling then this video by groungh shows you how it's done.

Castle Decor
Complete a Castle Statue.

See Masters of Illusion

Masters of Illusion
Complete all Castle Statues.

In every non boss level you will be able to find a piece of a castle statue that looks like a silver version of the item in the trophy image for Castle Decor.

  • Enchanted Forest Act 1 - After you've gone past the section in the trees and fall back at the crossroads take the road just above the door and you'll find the piece.
  • Enchanted Forest Act 2 - When you meet your first red ghost fall down and go left until you see a blue ghost with a platform on its back. Jump on and travel across to find the castle piece.
  • Toyland Act 1 - At the end of the playing card platforming section inside the magician's hat.
  • Toyland Act 2 - At the end of the area where you can flip the room around.
  • The Storm Act 1 - After completing the monkey head switch puzzle jump across the platforms then up a couple of platforms. Here you are meant to go right, but instead go left and jump on the bat's head to get enough height to reach a hidden platform with the statue piece.
  • The Storm Act 2 - In the underwater section with the falling blocks keep going left until you reach the part where you should swim up to escape. Instead swim down and you'll find a small gap in the wall with the piece inside.
  • The Library Act 1 - After the waterfall you'll find 3 red jelly blocks, fall through them and you'll find a few more platforms, at the end of which is the piece.
  • The Library Act 2 - After you reach the book that has a small gap underneath it you need to hide in, jump on top of this book and head left. You'll see it floating above some more moving books.
  • The Castle Act 1 - This is found in the area with the platforms that pop out of the wall. Once you've reached the "end" wait a moment and more platforms will appear above you, jump up and the piece will be here.
  • The Castle Act 2 - This last piece is found behind the second guard on the left of the screen during the section where the purple water is rising. Throw a projectile at him and then grab it.

If you're struggling to find them then follow the 100% walkthrough videos found in Step 1 of the Walkthrough, or under the trophy description for Money Bags.

Pretty Picture
Collect 50 Diamonds to unlock your first Painting in the Castle (1)

See Money Bags

Fortune Hunter
Find 50% of all Magic Diamonds.

See Money Bags

Money Bags
Find all the Magic Diamonds.

In each non boss level you will find 75 floating diamonds, and within the main castle hub you will find the remaining 50 you need to get this trophy. The ones within the castle hub are in plain sight and very easy to find, but some of the ones in the levels are very tricky and in some cases not even visible on screen.

If you follow these walkthrough videos by groungh you will have no trouble finding them.

Diamond/Collectibles Location Vids

Disillusioned
Break the illusion of 75 enemies.

Breaking the illusion simply means defeating, and to do that you can either jump on an enemy's head or throw an object at them (the object varies depending on the level). Once you've defeated 75 enemies this trophy will pop.

Superbounce
Bounce on 7 enemies in a row without touching the ground. (1)

The easiest place to get this is at the start of Toyland Act 2. Shortly after starting you will come across a toy soldier, this is the first of the 7. Bounce on the 2 toy soldiers' heads, then on the toy plane, then on the clown, then on 2 more toy soldiers before finally landing on the jack in a box. This video from groungh shows you how it's done;

Illusion Breaker
Break the illusion of 25 enemies with projectiles.

In each non boss level you will find various items such as apples and candles floating in the air that can be used as projectiles. Simply press to throw the item at an enemy and defeat them. Do this 25 times and the trophy is yours! The amount of projectiles you currently have is shown in the top left of the screen.

Tick Tock
Complete a stage in Time Attack.

If you return to an already completed level you will notice a large pocket watch floating somewhere near the start of the level. Jump into it and a clock will start, simply complete the level after touching the watch and the trophy will pop.
