Introduction

The most anticipated game of 2011, Call of Duty: Modern warfare 3. The game picks up from where you left off in Modern Warfare 2 and sees you controlling many previous characters from the previous game. The game involves intense firefights across many countries such as Paris, New York and London. This time there's been a few added features to the game; first off is the new 'Survival' mode which is much like Zombies from the previous COD titles. You will have to face off against waves and waves of enemies and it gets harder each time, it's manageable to reach wave 15 though.

COD's critically acclaimed multiplayer is also back, this time there's a lot of added features such as the all new prestige shop and 'gun leveling', which awards players for using a gun more than other guns. However there's no trophies tied to multiplayer so if you're only playing for the platinum then you don't need to bother playing multiplayer.

The platinum is fairly straight forward, more than half the trophies are self explanatory and are story related/difficulty related. There's no online trophies as you'll be glad to know so the platinum won't take you too long. The campaign takes about 5hrs to complete on Recruit. Depending on your skills, about 8 - 10hrs for veteran.

Good luck on your road to platinum and hope this guide helps!

Walkthrough

Step 1 - Completing the Campaign on Veteran, Mission Specific trophies & Intel

For the first step you will want you to complete the campaign on veteran, which isn't too hard in this game. Completing it on veteran first will make it so you only have to do one play-through. However if you've never played a Call of Duty game or any FPS before I'd advise you not to start out on veteran, reason being is it can be hard at some points and requires skill and patience but if you feel you can do it then by all means do so. It's about the same difficulty as MW2 so if you've completed MW2's veteran you will have no trouble here. Some tips for veteran:

  • Use cover at all times -

Cover is one of the biggest life savers in veteran, without it you'd be... well screwed. Wherever cover is available make sure you're near to it, you don't want to get caught in a firefight without any cover to quickly get to.

  • Use Prone -

Another life saver, this is one of the things you need to master to complete veteran, prone behind an object and slowly poke yourself out of cover to pick off enemies and when you start getting shot slide back to cover again.

  • AI (Your team/helper) -

The AI can be useful at times whereas most the time they are really not. Use them as decoys, enemies will get distracted by them and you can pick the enemies of easier. However this doesn't always work. If an enemy has seen you then he will only go for you. Make sure you never run ahead of your team/AI, you never know what's lurking around the corner.

  • Flashbangs/concussion grenades -

Very very useful in veteran especially if your surrounded by a group of enemies. Just pop one in a room to immobilise, blind and deafen them for a short period of time. At this point you can just run in all Rambo and blow them all away.

You will also want to go for the chapter specific trophies in this play-through too, try to get as much as you can of them to save you replaying any mission. None of them are that hard to get so you shouldn't have any problem with them. Also on your play-though you will want to collect all enemy intel, there's 46 of them and they look like laptops, they're not hidden that well so you may find these as you go through the story, or you can use the videos within the guide. This will net you the Informant and Scout Leader. For more information on any trophy mentioned in this step please refer to the trophy guide for details. At the end of this step you should have all Story Related trophies and also all Mission Specific Trophies.

Step 2 - Survival mode

New to MW3, survival mode sees the player defend against waves and waves of all sorts of enemies ranging from helicopters to dogs with explosives strapped to them. The trophies are pretty easy and you can do most of them by yourself. Getting to wave 15 isn't hard either. Powerpyx has written very detailed accounts and videos for each survival trophy so for more info please refer to the trophy guide. By the end of this step you should have, Birdie, Arms Dealer, Danger Zone, Defense Spending, Get Rich Or Die Trying, I Live, Survivor and Unstoppable.

Step 3 - Spec Ops (On hardest difficulty)

There's 48 stars to be earned in MW3s spec ops mode. Some of these missions are brutal and will really test your skill. You can do these either by yourself or with a partner, doing it by yourself is much harder as there's nobody to revive you if you go down. I recommend getting a co op partner to do these or you can do it in split screen if you prefer. There's 16 special op missions and each gives you 3 stars for completing it on the hardest difficulty. For more info on any trophies related to this step refer to the trophy guide. By the end of this step you should have, 50/50, No Assistance Required, Tactician, Brag Rags and Overachiever.*

Step 4 - Misc. Trophies

There are quite a few of these trophies in the game, they can be earned in either single-player or special ops. The reason this is one of the last steps is that you may have already got most if them without even trying. Some though you actually need to go for, such as knifing 5 enemies in a row (Doubt you'll be able to do this on veteran difficulty). For more info on these miscellaneous trophies please refer to the trophy guide. At the end of this step you should have all miscellaneous trophies which are, Strike!, Jack the Ripper and Serrated Edge. This will bring your total to 50 trophies and your platinum, congrats. If for some reason you don't then continue on to step 5

Step 5 - Clean up

Missed a mission specific trophy? Didn't get a trophy relating to survival mode? Then now's your chance to go over what your missing and earn them! Look what trophies you are missing and look them up in the trophy guide for more info on them. If you don't want to scroll through the whole thing make a search by pressing CTRL + F.

Content Collection #1 DLC

ROAD MAP

Overview:

  • Estimated Trophy Difficulty: 4/10
  • Breakdown (Offline/Online): (2 , 4 )
  • Approximate amount of time to complete: 1-2 hours
  • Minimum number of playthroughs needed: 2
  • Number of Missable Trophies: None. Mission Select is available.
  • Glitched Trophies: None
  • Does difficulty affect trophies? Yes, 4 (Skilled Negotiator, Shotgun Diplomacy, Slippery Slope, Ice in Your Veins)
  • Do cheat codes disable trophies? No cheats.

Step One
Complete each mission on Regular Difficulty.

First off, I would suggest going for the Shotgun Diplomacy and Slippery Slope trophies in Regular difficulty. They are earned by simply completing each mission in whichever difficulty you desire (preferably Regular in this case.) Whilst playing the "Negotiator" mission, try to memorize the hostage and enemy locations. It will make going for the Not on My Watch trophy much easier later on.

Step Two
Complete each mission on Veteran Difficulty.

Now, after getting accustomed to the missions, go for the Veteran trophies. By following my suggestions below, you should do well.

  • Cover, Cover, COVER! Don't forget to get into cover. It's probably the biggest annoyance for anyone, but it'll always be the biggest lifesaver in any attempt on Veteran.
  • Remember all of the enemy locations from previous runs, (and current ones from your deaths :P)

Step Three
Clean up and obtain the remaining two trophies.

After accomplishing the gruelling fight on Veteran, Not on My Watch and A Baker's Dozen are your final objectives. Follow the strategies listed in the Trophy Guide and you will have obtained the first six DLC Trophies for Modern Warfare 3. Congratulations!

INTRODUCTION
The second content drop for Modern Warfare 3 has 6 trophies related to 2 Spec Ops missions, Iron Clad and Killswitch. Both missions can be done solo but a second player is recommended to make things easier. Playing offline splitscreen with someone or online are your 2 player options for one player to be in a tank driver on Iron Clad / to be Overwatch in Killswitch while the other player is a foot soldier in both missions.

Step 1 - Beat Killswitch on Regular then Veteran
You can speed through this mission in less than 5 minutes on regular. This is recommended so you know where the enemy positions are, where the helicopters come in (taking them out will prevent more enemies from spawning in) and a good route to take/avoid on a veteran run. Whoever is better at sniping should take the overwatch position. The overwatch player can easily nab the Helipocalypse on either difficulty.

Step 2 - Beat Iron Clad on Regular and then Veteran
I found this to be the harder of the 2 missions. You have to keep the tank alive as well yourself. The regular run through is very important to know where suicide bombers and RPGs are spawning in and attacking the tank. However there is a simple strategy that will net you all 3 trophies related to this mission in 1 go.

Introduction

This is the third Content Collection drop for Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3. I don't think any of you reading this guide will have much problems because if you're here, it probably means you have platinumed the game and a pretty seasoned Call of Duty player.

The trophies are pretty straightforward and I hope the guide will help you get that much annoying 100%!

Walkthrough

Arctic Recon:
Step 1 - Complete 'Arctic Recon' on Veteran which gives you Stay Frosty and Sub Zero.

Step 2 - Complete the 'Arctic Recon' mission on Recruit to beat the 3.30 for dr0n3d

Vertigo:
Step 1 - Complete 'Vertigo' on Veteran to get 'Apex' and 'Pinnacle'

Step 2 - Kill all the 3 Juggernauts on Veteran to get 'To Jugger or to Jugger-Naut'

You could do Steps 1 and 2 together to get 3 trophies in one playthrough if you attempt it together but the thing is, you would have to use your rockets on those three which gives you a problem when you jump off the roof and face multiple enemies (as opposed to destroying the choppers and letting them drop).

Step 3 - Destroy all 16 helicopters for 'Flyswatter'.

  • Complete the campaign on Hardened or Veteran difficulty.

If you've played previous Call of Dutys before on veteran you will find this not hard at all. If you use basic cover and pick enemies off one by one instead of going head first into firefights you will succeed.

There's no time limit, so take your time; don't rush. If you're ever out in the open you will die so always make sure you plan where you're going to move to next which has a good amount of cover. The checkpoints are a lot better in this than the previous CODs, they seem to be more paced and you can sort of predict when they're going to appear.

    Basic veteran skills:

Very very useful in veteran especially if you're surrounded by a group of enemies. Just pop one in a room to immobilise, blind and deafen them for a short period of time. At this point you can just run in all Rambo and blow them all away.

  • Kill 5 enemies with a single grenade in Single Player or Special Ops.

A good spot appears at the very beginning of 'Persona Non Grata'. After leaving the start area and going down a set of stairs, you will come into a large courtyard. Run to the left side and take out the enemies that are in your way. 6 new enemies will come out of an alleyway and stop infront of a door. Throw your grenade right between them and you should easily kill 5 at once. Hold down to "cook" you grenade, allowing you to time the explosion more precisely. Reload the Checkpoint and keep trying if you didn't get it the first time.

  • Melee 5 enemies in a row in Single Player or Special Ops.

This is super easy. All you need to do is to take out five enemies in a row by using your knife with . It doesn't matter if you do it during the story or while playing spec ops. However, it's a lot easier to do this on Recruit Difficulty. You may not die in between the kills.

  • Collect 22 Intel Items.

Check out Scout Leader below for detailed instructions.

  • Collect 46 Intel Items.

There are 46 Intels in total. You can replay each mission, so don't worry if you miss one. The intels look like computers. You can pick them up by pressing . Each mission in the game has at least one intel. The video below will show you all 46 intel locations:

  • Kill 30 enemies with the XM25 in 'Black Tuesday.'

This is a mission specific trophy and is missable

You will have the XM25 (a high tech grenade launcher) in your inventory when the mission starts. Press to equip it. Make sure that you keep it all over the missions since you won't find another one. Take out as many enemies as possible with one shot, you will get about 2 kills maybe more per shot (depends on how grouped enemies are). Later on during the mission you can restore ammo at the ammo crates and receive full ammo for the XM25. Restart the checkpoint if you feel that you have done really badly at a part. There's a lot more than 30 enemies across the mission so if you only use the XM25 you will have no trouble doing this. It's recommended to replay the mission on recruit when going for the trophy.

  • Destroy all the choppers with only the UGV's grenade launcher in 'Persona Non Grata.'

This is a mission specific trophy and is missable

During the third mission, called 'Persona Non Grata' you will have to control a vehicle drone at some point. You have a total of ONLY 20 Grenades and need to destroy 5 Helicopters. It takes 2 Shots per Helicopter to destroy it so make sure you zoom in and aim carefully. Also don't waste the grenades on the enemies on the ground, use your MG to take them out. If at any point you feel you have failed and have used too many grenades you can restart the checkpoint.

  • Destroy all targets during the mortar sequence with only 4 shells in 'Back on the Grid.'

This is a mission specific trophy and is missable

Towards the end of the mission 'Back on the Grid' you will have to take out enemy vehicles with a mortar. Make sure that you destroy each vehicle with a single shot. Wait until they have stopped driving and are perfectly still, this will improve your chances of a direct hit. Restart the Checkpoint if you miss a vehicle.

  • Kill 20 enemies with the Chopper Gunner in a single run in 'Return to Sender.'

This is a mission specific trophy and is missable

This can be done in the very beginning of the mission 'Return to Sender'. Once you breach into the area and get off the truck, you will be told to use air support. Don't kill any enemies yet, go to the left side and cover behind some crates to make sure you don't get killed. Activate the Chopper Gunner and kill everything you can as fast as possible. Enemies are marked red and easy to kill. If you can count how many enemies you have killed, it's really not that hard and you may get it without even trying. Simply keep shooting all over to hit everyone you can. If at any point you feel you have messed up then reload the last checkpoint.

  • Take down a chopper with an AC-130 smoke grenade in 'Bag and Drag.'

This is a mission specific trophy and is missable

After progressing about half way in the mission 'Bag and Drag' you will be able to use purple smoke grenades to request AC130 air support. Soon after receiving those grenades a couple helicopters will fly in and drop off enemy soldiers. Wait until the helicopter has stopped moving to drop enemies and quickly throw a smoke grenade underneath the helicopter. You will have to be quick as there is a delay in which the AC130 fires + the helicopters don't hang around for long. If you fail then reload the last checkpoint (The checkpoint will put you back right before the helicopters appear so you need to be quick).

  • Destroy 3 tanks with a single 105mm shot in 'Iron Lady.'

This is a mission specific trophy and is missable

During the beginning of the mission "Iron Lady" you will be the gunner of an AC130, what you need to do is make sure you have the 105MM shot equipped. Now you must wait until 3 tanks are close together and shoot them with your 105mm ammo, the blast radius is pretty big so don't worry if they are not so close to each other. You must destroy all 3 with one shot for the trophy to unlock. If you feel you have failed at any point reload the checkpoint.

  • Nein

Kill 9 enemies with A-10 strafing runs in 'Scorched Earth.'

This is a mission specific trophy and is missable

During the mission 'Scorched Earth' you will be asked to climb the "Reisdorf building". Once you have done that you will have to protect your teammates from incoming tanks and enemies. To do so, you are able to request A-10 air support. Ignore the tanks for now you just want to focus on the foot soldiers instead as these guys are who you need to kill for the trophy. Aim and mark two points that shall be attacked, you need to be relatively quick since the tanks begin to kill your allies. You only have to kill 9 so you should have more than enough time to do it. If at any moment you feel you have failed simply reload the checkpoint.

  • Complete a Special Ops Mission Mode game with the same number of kills as your partner.

You can do this on your own with two controllers in Splitscreen Mode. Play the first Spec ops Mission "Stay Sharp". Player 1 goes through the parcour and shoots 17 targets. Now Player 2 does the same thing and shoots 17 targets as well. The trophy will pop when the mission is over.

  • Kill 2 enemy helicopters without getting hit in a Special Ops Survival game.

Best place to do this is on the "Carbon" Map. It's perfect because the air support crate is inside a building and the choppers can't attack you. Two helicopters will spawn in round 6. It's important that you receive absolutely no damage in the round you are destroying the helicopters (so don't get hit by the foot soldiers or the helicopters). Before you go into round 6, you should buy 10 claymores and a turret. In total, you should have at least $10,000 at the end of round 5. Go to the air support crate and secure the area with your turret and claymores. Use Predator missiles to destroy the helicopters ($2500 per missile). Stay in cover where no enemy can see you. The trophy pops right after you shoot down helicopter #2.

Alternatively, you can also do this on the Underground Map. Only helicopters spawn in round 6, no foot soldiers. Use predator missiles to destroy them.

  • Finish a Juggernaut with a knife in Special Ops.

This should be done on one of the first Survival Maps with Easy Difficulty. The very first one called 'Resistance' is a good choice. A Juggernaut spawns in round 10. Shoot 2 clips of your MP5 on him. Throw a flashbang and attack him with your knife until he is dead. You can refill your flashbangs at the Equipment Armory Crate.

  • Buy all items from the Survival Weapon Armory.

This costs $113,000. You have to reach lvl 50 in order to unlock all weapons. The Weapon Armory gets available after beating wave 1. The weapons are counted together from all your survival runs. The attachments need to be bought one time only, not for every gun.

  • Buy all items from the Survival Air Support Armory.

All together, this will cost you about $30,000. You need to reach lvl 50 to unlock all perks. The Air Support Armory gets available after finishing wave 3. This doesn't need to be done in one game! Everything is counted together from all your survival runs!

  • Buy all items from the Survival Equipment Armory.

This will cost you $22,250 in total. You need to reach lvl 37 to unlock all items. The Survival Equipment Armory gets available after beating wave 2. This doesn't need to be done in one game! Everything is counted together, you can do it over multiple Survival runs.

    • Claymore x5
    • C4 x5
    • RPG-7 x2
    • Body Armor
    • Self Revive
    • Riot Shield
    • Sentry Gun
    • Sentry Grenade Launcher
  • Have $50,000 current balance in a Special Ops Survival game.

You should play on one of the first four Maps "Resistance", "Village", "Interchange" or "Underground" since they are on easy difficulty. Simply don't buy any weapons at all. Pick up the weapons & ammo from enemies. Juggernauts can be taken out by throwing flashbangs and shooting 4 magazines of the MP5 into their head. Helicopters should also go down after 4 mags of the MP5. In tricky situations you may restore your ammo, but do not waste anything. You should reach the $50,000 milestone in round 15.

Here is another great tip from User T_l_M_B_0:
If you are playing with 2 players, once each player has $25,000 you can go to one of the shops and keep pressing to give the other player $500 dollars each time. Once one player has $50,000, the other person can just use the shop again and give the $50,000 to the other player so both of you can get the trophy very easily. This way you don't need as much money so you can buy weapons and ammo whenever you need them.

  • Reach Wave 10 in each mission of Special Ops Survival mode.

Check out Unstoppable for further information.

  • Reach Wave 15 in each mission of Special Ops Survival mode.

This will get easier as you level up. You should buy a LMG (Light Machine Gun) for $7000 as soon as possible. It's perfect against all sorts of enemies, no matter if it's a Juggernaut or a Helicopter. Make sure that you do always have a Self Revive with you. You can rebuy it for $4000 at any time. Claymores are a great way to get rid of the first couple enemies of each round. Turrets (especially the grenade launcher turret that is unlocked at lvl 31) are very powerful when you use them in the right way. Turrets should always be planted in a corner where enemies can only spawn in front of the turret. If you plant them in alleyways some enemies might come from behind and take them out quickly. If you have 2 grenade launcher turrets practically no foot soldiers can stop you anymore. The support team with protection shields is also very useful. Just make sure that no enemies attack their back.

Secret trophies

  • Kill all 5 enemies during the zero-g sequence in 'Turbulence.'

This is the only secret Trophy in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.

The zero-g sequence is in the very beginning of the 'Turbulence' mission. Pick up an AK-74u and reload your weapons before entering the first room of enemies. Use your pistol against the first two soldiers and take out the last 3 with the AK-74u. You can reload the checkpoint if you mess up.

DLC: Content Collection #1

6 trophies

  • Complete the Special Ops mission 'Negotiator' on any difficulty.

Refer to the "Skilled Negotiator." trophy description.

  • Rescue all the hostages in the Special Ops mission 'Negotiator.'

To get this trophy, you need to save all 35 hostages without a single one dying. I recommend doing this with a partner as there are a lot of sequences where there are multiple enemies aiming at different hostages at once. Obviously, doing this on Regular Difficulty will be the easiest, as you don't have to worry about enemy fire taking you down as fast.

Before starting, in the Mission Select menu, you will decide who will be the hostage, you or your partner. Whoever is the weakest at doing Slo-Mo breaching should be selected as the hostage. If you are breaching, refer to the "(Breacher)" section, if you aren't breaching, refer to the "(Hostage)" section below.

    (Breacher)
At the beginning of the mission, you will be in a small room, with two guards in front of you and will be prompted to "take" the first enemies gun (Desert Eagle) and take them out. As soon as you take the gun, stab both of the soldiers as fast as you can and move up to the next marker. Here, your next objective is to breach the door. You need to get there as fast as you can, as taking too long to get there will trigger an enemy soldier to shoot a hostage even before you open the door. There will be four soldiers in the breaching sequence to kill. Just worry about the first guy and let your partner kill the rest.

    (Hostage)
All you have to do here is wait for your partner to breach the room. Once the sequence starts, one of the enemies will "toss" the gun into the air, at which point you will have to hold to catch it and take out the three enemies in front of you.

After you breach, you have about 20 seconds to select a gun or two from the weapons in that room and proceed. Up ahead there will be two more enemies, one right outside the door, the other directly to the left of the first enemy under a balcony. A small wave of 4-5 enemies will come at you from ahead and 2-3 from the upper floor to your right. You can take your time with these enemies as no hostage kills will occur. This will give you time to go back, choose your guns, and make sure that you are reloaded.

The next part is very important, as it is a missable hostage kill. As soon as you move up, there is another building up high, and you have about five seconds to kill the enemy in there. Once you fill him with lead, move up and kill the two soldiers behind the gate that you come across. Head into the building and kill the two enemies as soon as you walk in and make your way up the stairs. In this section you have to be very quick, as there are three soldiers aiming at just one hostage and taking too long to head up will get him killed. My suggestion is to aim up above their chest and take them out really fast.

A breaching sequence happens next and there are three soldiers to take out, none of which are ready to fire back so you should have no trouble taking them out. The surprise is after you clear the room, as there will be two pairs of enemies coming out, one in each door behind you. Kill them and move up. There is an enemy aiming at a hostage up ahead, so make sure that you kill him and move to the turret as you exit the room. Use the turret to take out all of the enemies rappelling off the helicopter and from the next marker. Be careful while shooting with the turret to not aim at the brick wall because there are about eight hostages that you can accidentally shoot through the wall.

After this sequence, there is another Slo-Mo breach. There are four guys to shoot at in total - one is running towards you, two are aiming at hostages and another one falling over from the explosion. Once these guys are out, have one teammate head for the bomb and deactivate it, with the other providing cover fire. You will get rushed here by three different waves consisting of 5-10 soldiers each (a total of around 20-30 enemies after you're done.) Be careful in this section, as the soldiers during the rushes WILL try to kill a hostage. I would suggest to head directly to your left or right, as it's a small little "alley" where you can just lay down and shoot at the enemies as they come down to you. This was personally the most helpful for me in killing all of the enemies without a hitch. Once all of the enemies have been eliminated, move up and enter the final part of the mission. Three more guys and one more Slo-Mo breach, and you are all done!

  • Complete the Special Ops mission 'Negotiator' on Veteran difficulty.

Refer to the "Not on My Watch" guide for all the enemy locations.

A small little note, you do NOT have a certain amount of allowed deaths for hostages. So you can go trigger happy and take your sweet time to finish this mission. Also, I do not recommend using the turret when going for this trophy as you will be gunned down extremely fast in your attempt. Just stay behind the first car as soon as you exit the second breach room and you'll be fine.

  • Complete the 'Black Ice' Special Ops mission on any difficulty.

Refer to the "Ice in Your Veins" trophy description.

  • Run over and kill 13 enemies with the snowmobile in the 'Black Ice' Special Ops mission.

This is a lot easier than it seems. Set the difficulty to Regular, and then start up the mission. The biggest key is to kill the guys on the snowmobiles as fast as you can. When you reach a part where there are enemies walking around, run them over, but don't speed past them. You can actually reverse and turn around without it affecting the mission. So you can freely return to each individual section until you get all 13. There are about 20 in total, so should you miss any, you can start over.

Also, if you come to a complete stop, the enemies on snowmobiles will get off and start to shoot you down. These DO count towards the kill, count the moment they are off the snowmobiles.

  • Complete the 'Black Ice' Special Ops mission on Veteran difficulty.

This is fairly simple with a partner. There are two parts to this mission - the snowmobile and a bomb planting section. During the snowmobile section, just drive as fast as you can whilst shooting all of the enemies that you come across. It shouldn't be very difficult once you get the hang of driving the snowmobile. Once you reach the Checkpoint, a couple of soldiers should be greeting you with open arms in a truck that arrives at the same time you do. Take them out and move into the warehouse.

Find some cover behind boxes and eliminate the next wave of enemies. After they are down, move up and be ready for approximately 4-7 enemies to shoot at you from the windows up ahead - kill them and head into the next room. Head downstairs, which will be a small cave that splits off into two sections. Eliminate enemies on both sides and then choose whichever side you want. They both lead to the same area, but some enemies are harder to hit depending on which route you take, but you can always go back and get the rest. Tossing Grenades in should definitely help in taking out the enemies. After they are all down, head into the last room. A Slo-Mo breach with three enemies to take out awaits you. After you plant the bomb, run like hell. Try not to kill any of the enemies in the cave as a lot of them tend to ignore you. Once you make it back into the warehouse, toss some Grenades and take out the final group of enemies. Afterwards, make your way back outside where a helicopter is waiting to pick you up and finish the mission.

6 trophies

  • Complete the 'Iron Clad' Special Ops mission on any difficulty.

    See High Roller trophy.

  • Complete the 'Iron Clad' Special Ops mission on Veteran difficulty.

*If you do this single player you will switch between control of the tank and foot soldier*

This mission can be tough if you don't know what you're doing. The trick to successfully completing the mission is to let your tank stay back and kill enemies that the foot solider flushes out by advancing slowly forward through cover and then moving back. This tactic is also the way to easily get the Not a Scratch trophy. As the tank driver you should know where RPGs and suicide soldiers come from and make them a priority to take out. As the foot soldier you need to know where the enemy choppers spawn in and take them out with your stinger before they can damage the tank. The foot soldier should ALWAYS stick to cover to avoid unnecessary damage. Move up and progress back to cause enemies to spawn in and move up against your tank making them easy kills for the tank driver.

  • Finish with your tank at full health in the 'Iron Clad' Special Ops mission.

The only things that can damage the tank are RPGs, suicide bombers and enemy choppers. This is very easy to accomplish on regular difficulty but it can also be done with the same strategy on veteran. Basically your tank will want to stay as far back as possible (but still able to kill enemies). This way the suicide bombers will be out in the open as they try to reach the tank and RPGs will almost never hit the tank. The foot soldier will have to know when to be ready with the stinger to take out the incoming choppers. Also make sure to RELOAD the stinger/ammo at the back of the tank before you put the stinger away so you are ready for the next chopper. See the video posted under the High Roller trophy for the strategy in action on veteran difficulty.

  • Complete the 'Kill Switch' Special Ops mission on any difficulty.

    See EMPressive... trophy

  • Destroy 6 helicopters in the 'Kill Switch' Special Ops mission.

Halfway through the mission after you defeat your first juggernaut the sniper will take control of a drone to protect the ground soldier as they move into the building to plant an EMP. Take your time in the building and the overwatch player will have the ability to take out multiple choppers with the drone. You will see the trophy pop then interact with the device to plant the EMP (or if your overwatch gives you the go ahead). See the video posted under the EMPressive... trophy to see where specifically your overwatch player can get the trophy for you both (yes you both get the trophy if the overwatch kills 6 choppers).

  • Complete the 'Kill Switch' Special Ops mission on Veteran difficulty.

*If doing single player you will switch between the ground soldier and the overwatch player*

The more competent sniper player should take point as overwatch player. They will be the person who will score most of the kills. As the ground solider you will need to wait for the sniper to give you the all clear before you advance (mics are important). However before you advance make sure you check the sniper's blind spots (ie walls they cannot see behind). Always stick to cover as some enemies carry shotguns and can 1 hit kill you. Halfway through the mission after you defeat your first juggernaut the sniper will take control of a drone to protect the ground soldier as they move into the building to plant an EMP. You will have to depend on your own gun skills if you are the foot soldier to take out the enemies in the building but sticking to cover and eliminating enemies will easily see you through the warehouse. After you plant the EMP you will meet up with your overwatch player and you will both have to progress through a cargo bay to an escape boat. Make use of your FLASH GRENADES to easily run past the stunned juggernauts to the boat after you've taken out the enemy infantry. Here is a video showing how to complete the run (credit to DecRulez96):

DLC: Content Collection #3

14 trophies

  • Complete the 'Arctic Recon' Special Ops mission on any difficulty.

    See Sub Zero.

  • Complete the 'Arctic Recon' Special Ops mission on Veteran difficulty.

Self-explanatory. Unlocks Stay Frosty as well.

I took the MP7 (along with primary ACR 6.8) and stood by the second stairs leading to the area. Just tag the first beacon quickly while taking out the men on the way and during tagging, if possible try to get out of the drone after tagging automatically (or whole R3) [try to avoid the enemies kicking you out of it). Make your move, taking out men with the ACR carefully and swiftly on route to planting the beacon.

After that, a few guys come will out on the right so move carefully and take out the men at the top of the stairs. Then hide around that corridor and call in the drone. Remember when I said don't let the enemies kick you out? This is because if they do your drone starts at the spawn point again but if you got out manually, then it will remain where you last left it. Tag the beacon and take out anyone you see on route and then move into the room with the double sided stairs, leaving the drone beside the stairs. Now, quickly go the second beacon, plant it and go back down the stairs to hide.

Call in the drone to take out the men in front of you and beside the stairs, coming down. This one is easier to tag, as soon as you tag it leave it outside where you last tagged the beacon (this is because you want to access the above area easily). After tagging, the chopper comes in so you need to be a little lucky to survive men coming down the stairs when you go plant the 3rd beacon.

What I did next was, throw a Flashbang into the room where the double sided stairs lead up to and quickly call in the drone. Since you left it on the left side of the ship earlier, you just need to ascend and you'll see tons of enemies. Take out as many as you can but do not stay at a spot to aim. Drive by towards the left while shooting them towards the back of the ship for the fourth tag. When you've done that take out the men in the room where you threw in a Flashbang and kill anyone one that's heading for the right-hand stairs. Plant the charge and a countdown timer will start with 1:30 on the clock.

After planting, quickly run back the same way you came and enemies will come flooding in from the room where the double sided stairs meet. Throw a flash into the room and run down the first stairs (do not enter the room) and go towards the left ledge and jump down onto the lower floor (the corridor before you tag the 2nd beacon). It's pretty much straightforward here, you can just run all the way towards the extraction point whilst taking anyone down on the way. Enemies will run towards your chopper (some don't even shoot at you). You will probably have some Flashbangs left so use them here as well en-route to the extraction point.

Remember to use cover and secondary grenades. While taking your time is possible, remember it's infinite respawn so you don't want to hang around too much and there's the timer after the fourth beacon.

  • Complete the 'Arctic Recon' Special Ops mission in under 3:30.

This should be done on 'Recruit' difficulty. What you really need to do is tag quickly (moving the left analogue stick back and forth when you are controlling the drone), just hip fire everyone and plant. Do the same for all tags. You don't really have to even kill anyone at the top there after you've tagged and planted the first 3 beacons. Just like the method for completing it on Veteran, after planting the fourth beacon, just head towards the left of the room that's full of enemies and jump off the ledge and just run towards the point.

  • Kills all juggernauts after they land on Veteran difficulty in the "Vertigo" Special Ops Mission.

This is actually easier than it sounds. For tips to survive enemy waves, see 'Pinnacle'.

First juggernaut: Stand by the right side of the middle crate where you start and just Starstreak him twice when he lands. When you see the rope, just get ready.

Second juggernaut: This one will come in the smaller chopper and as soon as he gets out, Starstreak him once. I think he dies straight away because the chopper explodes at the same time.

Third juggernaut: Stand by the far right crate on the grass and wait for him to drop out like the first one. Careful though, since you'd be pretty close to him.

I actually tried shooting them with the Pecheng LMG but it was difficult, Starstreaking them is easier! When you've hit the first 4 choppers with one shot each, you'd have just enough to kill the 3 juggernauts.

  • Apex

Complete the "Vertigo" Special Ops Mission on any difficulty.

    See Pinnacle.

  • Complete the "Vertigo" Special Ops mission on Veteran difficulty.

    Self-explanatory. Unlocks Apex.

Remember to use cover and take your time. Prone is also your best friend. There is no time limit and you have an ammo crate at the bottom.

When you first start off, you have to take down 4 helicopters on the right at a distance with that Starstreak (is it?). Try to get each one with a shot each.

You will then encounter 3 waves of foot mobiles with a Helicopter coming after each wave. What I did on veteran was, after shooting the 4 helicopters, I turned around to face the courtyard and went extreme left behind a planter. I placed a claymore in front and just picked off the hostiles from that position. You can also shoot down each helicopter at the end of each wave from that position easily. Each of the helicopters (3 in total) will drop a juggernaut but as this playthrough is merely to complete the mission, I just shot all the choppers down. Note: Enemies will throw grenades so they might explode your claymore so just keep that in mind.

After doing the 3 waves, you have to take a parachute and on the way to the jump ledge, remember to take the extra G36C magazines on the ground (unless you changed weapons). The nearest and only ammo crate is after you jump off. Before you jump off, equip the Starstreak because immediately when you land, take out the two choppers which drop men off. Just slowly take your time and forget about the other choppers. They don't really shoot but they only drop men. At the landing spot, the ammo crate is on your right so put that to good use. 2 dogs will come after you so listen to their barks. Slowly pick off enemies one by one. There's a truck on the left side on the bridge so use the Starstreak and blow that off to take out the men beside it.

Push forward and as you reach the truck you just destroyed, equip your Starstreak because a chopper will appear which I think shoots missiles, so quickly take it out so you can concentrate on the men coming. As you again push forward towards the extraction point, another chopper will appear along with suicide bombers. Throw your Flashbangs. Always stay in cover and run back to the ammo box to replenish your ammo as often as you can when needed.

When you've taken down the two helicopters (after the truck and towards the green smoke), don't immediately rush because there will be suicide bombers coming through the smoke! Kill them and you are done .

    A tip from Fynn84:

Also here is a tip...After you jump down off the roof, don't advance past the luggage vehicle, you should have enough missiles left to take out the 3 choppers. If you advance to the ammo crate it triggers the next set of choppers, enemies and the damn dogs lol!

  • Destroy all helicopters in the "Vertigo" Special Ops mission.

There is a total of 16 helicopters - 4 at the start, 3 on the rooftop and 9 after you jump off the roof.

The first 7 are fairly straightforward but it's the final 9 where you have to be quick. You have to be quick or you'll miss them because it's not easy to aim and follow them while you're being hit. Pick enemies off quickly after the first two helicopters (right after you land) and remember to watch the dogs. The helicopter will make a turn after dropping down the men to the right (they turn) and go towards the left so you have time to shoot and aim at them.

  • Complete the "Special Delivery" Special Ops mission on any difficulty.

    See Deliver This.

  • Complete the "Special Delivery" Special Ops mission on Veteran difficulty.

In all honesty, this is a very easy Spec Ops mission even on veteran and here, I will explain how to get all trophies in one playthrough.

When you start, pick up the Barrett .50 and G36C. Also, pick up the Self Revive from the Care Package. Throw a care package you have and it most probably would be a Sentry Gun, if not, try to get one. Also try to get an Arsenal package so you can us the XM25 to kill someone for Discriminating Buyer.

Pick off the enemies around the left side. A juggernaut should be on his way after dropping down from the chopper you can see hovering around (your radio will also mention), so use the sniper rifle on him. When it's safe to move, put the sentry gun just beside the room on the left side, go into the room and slowly pick enemy off. When it's clear, move forward with your sentry gun and place it facing the outside and retreat back to take off enemies. Again, another juggernaut will most probably be on his way. Kill him and pick off the enemies around the small room in front.

Carry your sentry gun towards the left side again. There most likely won't be any enemies until you reach the concrete opening with '5' on the wall. Place your sentry gun facing that entrance and hang around behind there picking enemies. Here, a juggernaut with a riot shield will be at the door.

After that, place your sentry guy at the other entrance facing the huge area and quickly run into the room where the first marker is. Careful because there can be an enemy inside and you have to shoot the glass window to enter. Just hang around here prone, letting sentry gun kill the people while you just pick off anyone who comes nearby before taking the package. Also, another juggernaut would be coming so keep an eye.

I don’t know if it’s infinite respawn here or that the enemies you are about to face end up coming early if you linger around too long, so, quickly go into the second marker (in the warehouse like area) and move left and there, there will be something you can head glitch from to take out the two juggernauts that come in there, along with soldiers. When it's clear, take the classified package.

Before taking the last one underground, you might want to place the gun underground facing out from where the package is. This is because about 2/3 juggernauts with men will come out from the shutters at the far right, towards you. They didn’t rush to me, though, so I had to go out and take them on.

Before entering into that room, throw a flashbang in case anyone is there. Push into the room and a few men and one juggernaut will come through the door at the end. Clean them up and just go and revive the ally. Having only used one of each package (and one self revive), you will unlock all the trophies.

This is assuming the sentry gun doesn't get destroyed. Even if it does, it isn't all that hard I guess. If you are still having trouble, I suggest using as many care packages for sentry guns as you can and earning the other trophies on another run.

  • Use exactly one of each care package in the "Special Delivery" Special Ops mission.

I actually suggest doing this on recruit. Basically, what you have to do is use all three types of care packages - get a kill from a Sentry Gun, use the XM25 to kill from 'Arsenal' Care Package and let someone shoot you until you are down so you can use the self revive. Note that you have to complete the mission.

You have 9 care packages so just keep throwing if you don't get a specific one and if you still can't get one, restart mission.

  • Use only one self revive care package in the "Special Delivery" Special Ops mission.

Fairly straightforward. You don’t have to go ‘down’ to get this trophy if going for this solo, just having one on you is enough but you will have to use one if going for Discriminating Buyer.

  • Complete the "Light 'Em Up" Special Ops mission on any difficulty.

    See Lights Out.

  • Complete the "Light 'Em Up" Special Ops mission on Veteran difficulty.

This mission is more difficult for me.

You want to try to get a target every time you use the launcher. When all 4 intels have been dropped, you will be on the ground. It’s easy to see where enemies are because there will be light, so just shoot where the lights shine from, picking up the intels slowly. You then get back on the chopper to another room.

This part here is pretty straightforward. You are on the side walls, so you just have to push forward taking out anyone in front of you, and maybe those around shooting. You will have to go through 2 walkways. The second room where the lower ground is will have alot of people. Cook a grenade or two and toss them in. Try to kill as many as you can before. When you’ve killed everyone, the chopper would say something about watch you right and agents with chemicals strapped to them. They come from the lower ground and there would be 3 enemies coming from the right and one far ahead. Take them out as they move so you don’t face them later on. Now, the chopper should say “Proceed to breach”. There are 4 guys in the room.

When that is done, slowly enter towards the back. Be careful here because there will be like 4/5 guys trying to kill you and I got killed like 4 times in a row at this place. Also remember to watch your back. When you’ve killed the men, slowly go into the back room in Aim Down Scope because two men will come from the room right at the end where the hostage is. Pick them off and untie him.

Now all you have left is to kill enemies on route to the LZ. Use your Nightvision Goggles, use your flashbangs to kill the enemies. When you’re out of the house, turn left and before jumping down there will be a few enemies on the lower ground. When you’ve wiped them out, just proceed to the checkpoint.

  • Stab five stunned enemies in a row in the "Light 'Em Up" Special Ops mission.

While possible in veteran, I actually suggest doing it on recruit to make it simple. After the enemies dropped all the intels (after you have used the launcher on them), you will be on foot while the chopper hovers around.

It’s very simple, just walk around, letting the helicopter headlight shine on an enemy and they will be blinded/stunned, and just knifed them. You have to knife them in like 2 seconds though, because they can recover. Repeat 5 times. Trophy will pop after you strike the 5th guy.

Note: As mentioned by various users, you can also get this trophy just by using flashbangs.
