Main Mission leading up to this Mission:

    1. A Warm Welcome
    2. My Life For A Sandskiff
    3. A Study in Scarlett
    4. Two Easy Pieces
    5. The Hermit
    6. Crazy About You
    7. Whoops
    8. Let There Be Light
    9. X Marks The Spot

The main missions are pretty straight forward and most of the bosses you encounter shouldn't prove too much difficult.

Once you reach the final mission "X Marks the Spot" you'll face 2 bosses.
The first boss is Scarlett's pet. If you keep your distance you have nothing to worry about, not his attacks at least. He will spawn some Skags and/or Rakk, they can be pretty annoying but don't focus too much on them. They're great for activating kill skills if you have any and when you find yourself in a Fight for your Life stance, these can help you gain a second wind. Also, be careful with the acid pools that are all over the place.

The second boss is the Leviathan. Whilst he's pretty huge he shouldn't be that difficult. His attacks are pretty easy to dodge and not that strong. All you need to be careful with are the many sand worms that will spawn. You can't just shoot the Leviathan and damage him. You need to hit the huge blue spots with white dots on his body. 2 are located on his neck, one on his chest and one in his mouth. The one in his mouth is the last one you will need to destroy. If he doesn't open his mouth and just stands idle, kill some sand worms and he will open up pretty soon.

If you're having trouble with the Leviathan fight, there's an easy exploit that will protect you from any of his attacks and no Sand Worms will spawn until you let them (Credit to Terminator for this tip).

There is a really fast and cheap way to kill the Leviathan: On the left-hand side of the room there is a ledge with 2 ammo chests on it, by standing behind them the Leviathan will not spawn any worms and none of his attacks can hurt you (or at the very least will do only minimal damage). The best weapon for this fight is the Unique 1-shot-Rocket Launcher you get as a quest reward (I can't remember the name off-hand). The 2 weak spots on his head can destroyed in one shot, the one in his mouth takes two shots but the one on his heart takes about 4. If you don't/can't get this Rocket Launcher then use a combination of Scarlett's incendiary Revolver and a decent Sniper Rifle.

To get him to expose the weakspot in his mouth you have to leave the safe spot long enough for the Queen Sand Worms to spawn. Once they appear, kill them. Killing them will provoke the boss into sticking out his tongue, shoot 2 rockets into it to kill him. After the first shot he will retract his tongue but will stick it out again shortly afterwards.

Once he's down use his body as a bridge. After the credits roll, enter the treasure room and jump all the way up the pyramid for about a dozen loot chests. The trophy unlocks once you Turn In the mission.

  • Probably. And seeing how it's titled X Marks The Spot. End treasure?
  • Wait, doesn't the base game already have a mission called like this?
  • I thought that these comments would be about hints or tips, not that they seem needed but it's just Plas and people moaning at them :P
  • this will take about an hour to get on normal mode 2 1/2 hours on hard mode if you dont do side missions....
  • sounds boring
  • Just got this after my plat I used the DLC's missions to get my Zero to lv50 and I finally got around to resetting him to get Unseen Predator last 2 trophies I needed to get main game plat. Yet still can't get all the map trophy I'll get it bound to be one small bloody piece of map I haven't found. Only got a few side missions left too which should take me to level 52
