Gotham Base Jumper Trophy in Batman: Arkham City

  • Gotham Base Jumper

Jump off the tallest building in Arkham City and glide for 1 minute without touching the ground.

How to unlock Gotham Base Jumper

You will need to access Wonder Tower from the elevator in Wonder City in order to earn this trophy. You will also need to climb some way up the tower in order to earn this trophy, as jumping from the elevator platform will cause Batman to fall and save himself with the batclaw.

After climbing some way up the tower, glide off and head away from it. Eventually you will hit an invisible wall, and Batman will turn back automatically. After he does so, rotate around and hit the wall again. Each of these animations will not cause Batman to lose elevation or be registered as having stopped gliding, and the time spent in these animations does count for this trophy. The trophy will unlock as soon as you spend 60 seconds while gliding.

The below video by PowerPyx demonstrates this.

  • This is the first trophy I'm going for!
  • It's Wonder Tower...at least that's my theory (since the image matches the structure), haven't done this yet.
  • Actually you can't get to it till the end of the game since it is in a restricted area
  • I'm having trouble with trophy cuz I get to the top of the tower and start to glide, but then he turns around about three times and next thing I know he's pulling out the grapling hook and I'm back at the top of the tower.
  • you have to use the grapnel boost and keep propelling yourself off of the antennas that stick out. just keep circling around the building. try to avoid the one with the wire as sometimes batman will jump up onto it instead of continuing to glide.
  • So how do you get to the very top of the tower? Everyone explains how to glide but no one says how to get to the top? Is it story related or something? I have no clue how to get in to the tower or get to the very top of it. I haven't beaten the game nor do I know if I'm near the end of it.
  • Ok so I just beat the game but I didn't jump off and glide for 1 minute. The tower blew up, can I go back and get it along with all the side missions that I missed? Or do you have to start a whole new game?
  • After beating the game, I cannot get to the very top of the tower in order to glide for a minute. It's blocked off by some rubble since the tower blew up in the main story. Now what?
  • Just got it... You don't have to go to the very top. I followed this exactly http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DUGznfH5hNw I got it right milliseconds before batman automatically used his batclaw back up onto the wonder tower.
  • so it's basically just circulating the building.. that's ok. the most annoying thing is having to climb down from it again
  • I made a video on how to get this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ABVjcF9P4SE&feature=mfu_in_order&list=UL
  • How di i do a u-turn? i canto do it!!! :S
  • It does the uturn for you when you fly too far away.
  • For those of you that are still unsure about this trophy, you can't get it until the end or after the end of the game. You can do it just before you beat the game and start off a little higher on the Wonder Tower or you can do it afterward. To do it after you have beaten the game you have to work your way up the tower just like the first time except you won't be able to reach the very top. You'll only be able to reach the section of the tower just before you grapple hooked to get to the last walkway leading to the main room. In this section there is one open area that you can glide from and get this trophy. Just use the same method mentioned above. Head straight for the church and soon as you do the U-turn, which is automatic, turn back and aim for the church again. You may hav
  • Sorry I got cut off... shorter is better But what I went to say at the end there was, you may have to do it a couple times. Stick close to the edge where he U-turns on his own to stay higher up and have a better chance. I got this after beating the game and just a second before he went to batclaw himself back up.
  • Many Thanks
  • Want to say thanks to "Comment #14 by EnsignRicky" for that info. I had completed the game & didn't want to play through just for that. For those like me, cleaning up straggler trophies & haven't played in a while. The access to the tower is through the sewers to where the underground trains are, continuing on to the elevator at the base of Wonder Tower (there's another access through the TYGER security base, where you started as a prisoner, though easy to get lost this way). Also note, even after you have completed the game, you can't go to the top, though you do need to climb up from where the elevator lets you out, going to your Left (facing away from the elevator). The video from "Comment #11 by Thebiohazargames" was helpful to see where, keep climbing around until you'r
  • @#15 by EnsignRicky: "I got this after beating the game and just a second before he went to batclaw himself back up. " I did exactly the same and it popped as the BatClaw auto-fired. Gotta love those really close Trophies. Cheers!
  • Bullshit! Have tried everyone's tips, but still can't get shit.
