Welcome to the second installment of the Arkham series – Arkham City, brought to you by Rocksteady Studios. This time around, you will be playing as two protagonists – Batman (Bruce Wayne) and Catwoman (Selina Kyle). Your main villains are the Joker and Hugo Strange who have taken over the City with something called “Protocol 10”.
As for the trophy list, they’re mostly story or collectible related, so they shouldn’t pose much difficulty. The only hard trophies will be for the predator and combat rooms which do take the difficulty up a notch. There is one missable trophy (Catch ), so make sure you refer to the guide for that one.
PS4 Warnings and/or glitch notes:
- While the game has at least two known glitched trophies, the PS4 version can easily crash on you at any given time. It is wise for you to back your save up to the cloud or USB.
- While returning to the DLC on the PS4, I have noticed a fair few glitches regarding the challenges rooms (most noticeably the predator rooms). Sometimes an enemy will still be alive but is actually dead making you believe there are more than the persons you see when you have predator mode on. For example, if you have 1 enemy left it will show 2. I have also had an occasion where this has happened and the round failed to recognise I have finished it. The timer will just carry as normal with the 1 enemy still showing. The only fix for this is to restart the room.
Stacking information - The PS4 version is called "Return to Arkham" which will include both Arkham Asylum and Arkham City as separate discs but in one case.
Catwoman DLC - While not required for this , you will likely pick up the odd few trophies here and there during her playthrough as you will play as both Batman and Catwoman.
Step 1 – Play the game through on normal or hard to unlock New Game Plus
Here, you will just be wanting to play through the game on either normal/hard to unlock New Game Plus while earning any miscellaneous trophies along the way as well as any collectibles you see along your way. Also, when the AR Challenges become available, I suggest that you do these as the Grapnel Boost can be highly effective when traveling around the open world.
Trophies earned during this step:
- I'm Batman
- Acid Bath
- Savior
- Chinmey Sweep
- One-Armed Bandit
- Communication Breakdown
- Gladiator
- Wrecking Ball
- Lost and Found
- Sandstorm
- Hide and Seek
- Ghost Train
- Freefall
- Exit Stage Right
Step 2 – Clear up any of the remaining trophies plus collectibles
Here is where you will be spending the majority of your time. There are plenty of riddles, trophies, cameras, balloons, and Joker Teeth scattered around Arkham City for you to collect and/or destroy. These can be revealed on your map by hacking stations to add cameras on your map and interrogating thugs that are marked with green.
Also, you will want to be clearing the other side missions, and any miscellaneous trophies you may have missed during your playthrough of the story.
Trophies earned during this step:

- Mystery Stalker
- Distress Flare

Step 3 – Complete New Game Plus
If you are playing on normal, it will be normal plus and if you are playing on hard, it will be hard plus.
New Game Plus is a harder version of the difficulty you have just played. In New Game Plus, the enemies will be faster and harder to defeat, there will be no counter icons, more guns, batons, and shields will be in play for the enemies, and they will appear earlier. Your gadgets will carry over to New Game Plus as well as your collectibles. Everything else you will have to complete again, including the side missions for Perfect Night Day 2. Also, use this step to clear any of the remaining miscellaneous trophies you may have missed during the previous step(s).
Trophies earned during this step:
- Twice Nightly
Step 4 – Predator and Combat challenge rooms both ranked and campaign as Batman
The challenge rooms can be found on the main menu through “Riddlers Revenge” (next to new game / continue story). In order for you to unlock these rooms, you will need to collect near enough all the collectibles in the game as they unlock these rooms.
You only need to complete Batman’s own challenge rooms in order to gain the . Don’t use any of the other characters in Batman’s section as they don’t count towards the trophies. Additionally, the DLC maps and campaigns are not required and do not count.
There are 180 medals for you to obtain between ranked and campaign). Ranked are the normal singular rooms, where campaign rooms require you to complete 3 in a row while adding little challenges such as not being able to use your gadgets and so on, so it’s best to plan which one you are going to use each round/room. You can select up to 3 modifiers.
This step will probably be the make or break into whether or not you gain your , so good luck. If you are struggling, you can refer to our excellent challenge guide made by PowerPyx or refer to Batman Arkham Videos who has brilliant videos. While you might not be able to mimic everything, it outlines what you need to do. Batman - Challenge rooms - Credit to Batman Arkham Videos. The only advice that I can give is for the combat rooms is to try and keep a combo going without getting hit to get the max points possible. Another tip that I can give is to use your Bat Swarm and as this will stun multiple enemies to which will help you in changing your variety of attacks to help with your combo multiplier.
Trophies earned during this step:
- Bronze Revenge
- Silver Revenge
- Gold Revenge
- Campaign Bronze
- Campaign Silver
- Campaign Gold
- Perfect Knight - Day 2
- Platinum

[1.0] Complete the Catwoman Story and Free Roam
The Catwoman DLC is basically an online pass that is included with new copies of the game for free. If you downloaded the Catwoman bundle before starting the main story, at certain points of the story, you will take over the role of Catwoman. She has three parts to her story, the last of which you will begin after you complete the main story. If you bought the Catwoman Bundle after starting or completing the main story, then you can play those missions from the main menu and still get the trophies.
Once her storyline is finished, you will then have to complete two trophies while free roaming. The 40 Catwoman Riddler trophies can be picked up here or during the main story. None of them require any gadgets and all are pretty simple to get. The only problem is finding them. If you beat up some of the Riddler informants, then the Catwoman trophies will display on the map as pink question marks.
After the final Catwoman mission, you will have to recover her stolen goods from Two-Face’s thugs. The enemies with them will have a glowing red gem icon on them when you view them with Thief Vision. They are all in the Bowery and Park Row, so taking them down shouldn’t be a problem.
[1.1] Riddler’s Revenge x3
Now begins the longest part of the DLC, completing the Riddler’s Revenge challenges with Catwoman, Robin and Nightwing. Catwoman has the same list of challenges as Batman while Robin and Nightwing each add two challenges. Fortunately, you only have to complete them with the character that they are bundled with (Robin – Black Mask Hideout and Freight Train Escape; Nightwing – Wayne Manor Hall and Wayne Manor Armory).
The easiest way that I found to do the challenges is to group the like challenges together. This means doing the combat challenges for Catwoman, Robin and Nightwing one after the other. I did this so that the enemies that would appear stayed fresh in my mind and they were easier to get through. Since the medal requirements are different for each character, I did those next followed by the campaign challenges.
The combat challenges are basically the same as Batman’s. The predator challenges are unique though because of the differing move sets. Because of this, I found Catwoman’s predator challenges to be more difficult and required more patience since she has fewer abilities than the other characters.
Like what is in the guide, the play order is only a recommendation. I found it easiest to get through them this way. Do what you find to be the easiest to work with.
[2.0] Harley Quinn’s Revenge
And here we have the long awaited Arkham City epilogue. In it, you'll be switching back and forth between Batman and Robin. The trophies are pretty straightforward, but a couple of them are kind of tricky. Four of the ten are story related and you shouldn't need to worry about those. As long as you complete the DLC (which should only take you a couple of hours), you'll get those.
The others are combat and collection trophies. Frequent Flyer and A Few New Tricks you can get pretty much right away as there are two fights with three guards each right at the beginning. While the Quickfires are what you need to do for A Few New Tricks, they will not work for Frequent Flyer and Battering Ram. Those are easy though can also be done pretty quickly.
Party's Over is another missable trophy, but you don't need to worry too much about it. The first few balloons are inaccessible after you move through that area, as are the outdoor ones, but for the most part, you'll get multiple chances to get each one. None of the balloons are hard to find and if you don't happen to get all 30 in one playthrough, you can start another and your total popped will remain the same. You'll just have to find the ones that you missed.
The only two trophies that you need to worry about are Snap To It and Bomb Squad. Snap To It for the most part is easy. The only thing that is unclear is where the "environmental object" is. That is listed with the trophy. The other three shouldn't be a problem to get, although there is only one Titan in the DLC. The other thing to be aware of with Snap To It is that you need to do it all in one run, meaning that you can't do three in one playthrough and the last in a second.
Bomb Squad is the last missable, and well, there's a bit of a happy glitch. If you rush and know where the bombs are, you can easily get them all defused in under three minutes. However, after defusing the second bomb, you are running low on time, simply restart the checkpoint. You'll go back to right after defusing the second bomb, but with four minutes on the clock, giving you two minutes to get the last bomb.
Harley Quinn's Revenge is pretty straightforward and not hard to get all of the trophies in. You can do them all in a few hours with ease. Even with easy trophies, it's a great epilogue for Arkham City.
