Section 02. Introduction

Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner HD is one of two games on the Collection and originally came out on the PS2 in 2003. The game in all its entirety is remade in high-definition graphics but there was a bug in the code that affects your saves which also affects your trophy acquisition. The problem isn't too big as long as you mind your saves. The good news is that you can earn every trophy on Easy difficulty, which does make several trophies much easier to accomplish, and as long as you're able to perform everything sufficiently you will only need to play the game twice to earn the platinum.

Section 2.1 - Save Bug

The bug affects how the game tracks your New Game + status. Once you clear the game you are prompted to save, doing so gives you a "Clear Game" save; DO NOT DELETE, OVERWRITE, OR ALTER THIS SAVE. If you wish to play a New Game + you will have to load this save first and then start a new game; this will let you select which version of Jehuty you want to play as and if you want to start with all the sub-weapons. If you ever quit the game (Exit to Game Select, Game Quit, or Power off), delete, or overwrite this save then your current playthrough will no longer be considered New Game + the moment you exit to the main menu; even if you started with an advanced Jehuty or your sub-weapons and save your game.

This Clear Game save is also what enables you to play the Extra Missions. Be sure to read up on nEXt Mission, Frame Collector, and Retro Runner to understand how these trophies are affected.

Section 03. Walkthrough

To start off, understand that you will need to play through most of the game at least twice to earn everything. Most of the trophies can be earned on your first playthrough and you can spend your second playthrough cleaning up whatever is left. The best news is that you can play the game on Easy which simplifies some of the more difficult trophies.

Section 3.1 - How you're graded

Two of the trophies in the game require you to clear the game with a specific grade and the higher grade does not earn you the lower grade trophy. You can earn both trophies in a single playthrough but you must understand how you're being graded. You are graded based on the two rescue events (Vascilla City, Aumaan Crevasse), how many continues you use, and how many saves you make.

The rescue events give you a letter grade and your grade is averaged between those two; while your continues can only bring your grade down if you use too many continues. It takes roughly 5 continues to bring your overall grade down a full rank. If you are able to earn SS on both rescue events you will need 5 continues to lower it to an S and 10 continues to lower it to an A. If you are able to pull this off, your second playthrough will be very short and simple. If you are unable to earn SS ranks on either rescue event, don't worry as it'll be much easier your second playthrough.

Section 3.2 - First Playthrough

Start a new game and be sure to play on Easy, this will make all fights easier and will simplify some of the more difficult trophies. You should focus on every trophy possible and collecting as many EX Mission Icons as possible. The more effort you put in here will give your second playthrough plenty of room to take it easy.

If you find yourself lacking the skills to earn SS Ranks on the Vascilla City and Aumaan Crevasse events, do your best to at least earn an A Rank. Be sure to make a Clear Save after the credits roll.

Section 3.3 - Second Playthrough

Load your Clear Save and then start a new game; put the difficulty on Easy, select Jehuty Ver.2 and be sure to start the game with all your sub-weapons. If you ever save and quit the game, you must reload your Clear Save before continuing this playthrough, otherwise you'll end up missing specific collectibles which are only obtainable in New Game +. If you earned all rank specific trophies on your first playthrough, you just need to focus on the collectibles and anything else you may have missed. If you failed to earn specific rank trophies, having access to a stronger Jehuty and your sub-weapons will make this immensely easier.

Outside of getting anything you may have missed the first time, there are no trophies to earn on this playthrough. This is specifically for earning the few collectibles which only appear on New Game +.

Section 3.4 - Versus / EX Missions

As long as you've earned all the collectibles and have performed everything in the main game, this will be a short and simple process. You simply need to enter the Extra Missions and Versus menu to get credit for two trophies and then complete the Zoradius mini-game and you will have your platinum.

Find Taper in less than 4 guesses

(Missable) This trophy is only available on Deimos Station for a short amount of time. After Ken tells you to escape, you'll eventually pick up a rescue signal and you will have to find Taper. Taper is hiding in a cargo container that's in one of three cargo holds and there are two ways of finding him. The first way is to enter the different cargo holds and listen to the hints he gives you and then make an informed decision based on what he says. The other way is to save your game before guessing, if you fail to find him within 4 turns keep searching and take note of the container number he's in when you do find him. Now reload your save and he'll be in the exact same container which you can now get in one guess and earn this trophy.

(Missable) This trophy is only available immediately after defeating Leo on Mars. After he leaves, Naritas will start to swarm the area and as you battle them ADA will mention reinforcements and suggest that estimated battle time would be 90 seconds. When she says this you need to press :l3: to respond to her. When Dingo responds, ADA will put a timer on the right side of the screen, you need to defeat all of the remaining Naritas before those 90 seconds run out. If you do, you will earn this trophy.

Earn a Ranking of SS at Vascilla Battle

(Missable) This trophy is only available immediately after fighting off Nephtis at Capris Canyon. This event can be a big problem for the unprepared but there are several things you should know. The enemies always spawn in the same location and the same order and with the same number of enemies. The Space Forces will damage the buildings if they see any Spiders crawling on them and you should not shoot a Spider if it's crawling on a building. Through most of the event, you should use Phalanx and dash from spawn point to spawn point and take out the Spiders as fast as possible. Once you're near the end of the event, you won't be able to stop all the Spiders as they spawn. Put away your sub weapon and use Grab/Throw to take the spiders off the buildings and to damage any remaining Spiders.

You're graded on three things for this event; Buildings, Survivors, and Earth Forces, all of which must be at 100% to earn an SS rank. This ranking is also factored into your overall ranking which is a criteria for Ace of Frames and The Egret Has Landed.

Defeat the train in less than 5 minutes

(Missable) This trophy is only available during the train event that follows the Vascilla Battle event. The train is made up of 4 cars and the engine compartment for a total of 5 pieces. Each car will have 4 frames guarding it, the easiest way to get rid of the frames is knock them into the walls or ceiling using Gauntlet or Grab/Throw. Once they're gone you can focus on the cars, all of the cars have various gun weapons but all have missile defenses. The best way to destroy the cars is by using the homing laser to damage all parts of the car while dodging its projectiles. Simply repeat the process of getting rid of the frames and then destroying the entire train under 5 minutes to earn this trophy.

Defeat the Viola AI for the final time

This is a storyline related trophy and cannot be missed. After stopping the cargo train, you'll find your way to a factory and be challenged one last time by the Viola AI. After defeating it as Nephtis, it'll take over the Ardjet Frame. Defeat the AI by deleting it from Ardjet to earn this trophy.

See Boss Data for fight details.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1057/2DC.jpgIs It Hot In Here? (S)(H)

Reveal Ken's alternate outfit

(Missable) This trophy is only available following the final Viola AI fight when you need to escort Ken out of the foundry. To see Ken's alternate outfit, Ardjet will need to be near the molten metal at the bottom of the foundry; Ken will cry out that it's too hot and you should notice Ardjet's life gauge decrease; you don't need to let her fall, you can carry her down there and force this on her. Having Ken cry out 3 times is sufficient to earn this trophy, after that carry her out of the foundry and she'll be in a tank-top instead of her flight suit in the following cutscene. The trophy won't pop until the next cutscene where they're approaching Fort City.

This trophy can be a little tricky as Ardjet starts out with the energy she had when you finished deleting the VIOLA AI. You can leave her on a platform or let he slowly float to the bottom of the Foundry but enemies will usually focus on her, to top it off there are 2 Raptors that will continuously spawn every time you defeat them. You can heal her by grabbing her and then holding :r2:. The easiest way to do this is kill the 2 continuously spawning Raptors until one is under the beginning platform. It will focus on Ardjet but will not be able to damage her. With this in place, you're free to clear the entire area and then grab Ardjet and drag her near the bottom of the foundry.

Defeat an enemy by using the shafts at Fort City

(Missable) This trophy is only available in the two areas in the depths of Fort City but is also very easy to do and may even happen without you realizing it. The depths of Fort City are filled with moving columns that move in and out and can crush anything between them. Simply lure (or place) an enemy between the columns and have it killed when the columns push together to earn this trophy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1057/A7F.jpgQuick Draw (S)

Defeat the 5 BAHRAM Battleships in less than 6 minutes

(Missable) This trophy is only available immediately after defeating Lloyd. The 5 battleships in the sky can be defeated one of three ways; you can shoot its main engine with the Vector Cannon, you can shoot its Main Gun with the Vector Cannon, or you can simply destroy every piece of the crafts body and it'll fall to pieces. You must destroy all 5 of them under 6 minutes which can be harder than it sounds. If you are playing on Easy difficulty this won't be much of a problem as you can simply land on the back of the craft and shoot its Main Engine. However if you are not playing on Easy, then only one of the crafts can be defeated this way and you will have to resort to shooting its Main Gun, which is more difficult than it sounds. This trophy can be difficult on Normal or harder difficulties as if you're not a high enough level, you may not have sufficient sub-weapon energy to perform what's required of you.

Earn a Ranking of SS at Aumaan Crevasse

(Missable) This trophy is the most difficult trophy in the game and is available at the battle immediately following the Zakat fight. There are a few things you should know to make this trophy a little easier. Leo cannot die, he may call for help a lot but he simply cannot die so do not worry about him. The recommended weapons are Homing Missile and Phalanx; Homing Missile is powerful and costs a lot of energy but there are numerous enemies that award metatron and sub-energy for defeating them. If a LEV goes into SOS it is up to you to make sure it gets healed; you must locate it and use Geyser on it, this will signal Leo and he will come heal the LEV. If there are too many enemies nearby, Leo will not be able to heal the LEV. You should also know if you can't see the SOS on your main screen, they'll release a red pulse on the radar ADA provides for you. To help keep LEV damage as low as possible in the early stages of the fight, you should intercept all enemy waves approaching the LEV's and destroy as many as possible. Once the big wave comes, killing will take a backseat to ensuring every LEV gets healed as soon as possible because every single LEV must survive this battle to earn your SS rank.

You're graded on one thing for this event; Survivors, all 40 LEV's must make it through this battle. This ranking is also factored into your overall ranking which is a criteria for Ace of Frames and The Egret Has Landed.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1057/22F.jpgAce of Frames (S)(H)

Beat the game with a ranking of A

(Missable) This is not as hard as it sounds as there are only 4 things factored into your overall ranking; Vascilla Battle Rank, Aumaan Crevasse Rank, and # of continues and saves used. It's computed by averaging your rank from the two events and then subtracting so many points based on how many continues and saves you used. It takes roughly 5 continues to lower a full letter grade and so if you've earned anything higher than an A, you can reload a save and build up some continues to lower your overall rank. Making an immense amount of saves can also lower your rank, it takes more saves to lower a full letter but it can be a quicker method than dying over and over. Make it to the post credits screen with an A rank to earn this trophy.

To earn an A rank at Vascilla Battle, you will need the buildings and survivors between 80 - 89% which is obtained by completely destroying one of the 6 buildings near the Spider spawn points.

To earn an A rank at Aumaan Crevasse, you will need a total of 50 - 79% of the LEV's to survive. There are 40 LEV's and so you will need to have 9 to 20 casualties to make the requirement.

This trophy does not stack with The Egret Has Landed.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1057/AF6.jpgThe Egret Has Landed (G)(H)

Beat the game with a ranking of S

(Missable) This is not as hard as it sounds as there are only 4 things factored into your overall ranking; Vascilla Battle Rank, Aumaan Crevasse Rank, and # of continues and saves used. It's computed by averaging your rank from the two events and then subtracting so many points based on how many continues and saves you used. It takes roughly 5 continues to lower a full letter grade. Make it to the post credits screen with an S or SS rank to earn this trophy.

To earn an S rank at Vascilla Battle you will need the buildings and survivors between 90 - 99% which is obtained by only letting the buildings take a small amount of fire.

To earn an S rank at Aumaan Crevasse you will need a total of 80 - 99% of the LEV's to survive. There are 40 LEV's and so you will need to have 1 to 8 casualties to make the requirement.

This trophy does not stack with Ace of Frames.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1057/DE6.jpgnEXt Mission (S)

Find all 20 EX-Missions

(Missable) First of all this trophy is misworded, there are only 19 EX-Mission Icons in the game. This trophy requires you to play through the entire game at least once and then start again with a New Game +. Be sure to select yes when asked if you would like all of your sub-weapons available from the start of the game as this is vital to earning one of the EX-Mission Icons; all 18 other EX-Mission Icons can be found on a regular playthrough. The 20th EX-Mission Icon is actually awarded for beating the game twice. Once you've found them all, go to Extra Missions from the Main Menu and you will earn this trophy.

(Glitch) This trophy runs risk of being hampered by the Clear Game glitch as one of the EX-Mission Icons is only available in New Game +. To mitigate this problem, when you start a New Game + be sure to start with all sub-weapons. When you reach the Vic Viper Battle, save and quit your game. Load your Game Clear Save and then load your save at the Vic Viper Battle. This will ensure you're in New Game + Mode and will be able to earn the EX-Mission Icon.

EX-Mission Icon Locations

[spoiler=nEXtMission]

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RfUtmyn4JOI]www.youtube.com/watch?v=RfUtmyn4JOI[/ame]

#01. BAHRAM Battleship

Near the beginning - after Ardjet - you'll board a BAHRAM Battleship. In the third room you'll encounter your first Mummyhead. After defeating all the enemies in the room, head back towards the second room and you'll see the EX-Mission Icon waiting for you.

#02. Margaritifier (NEW GAME + ONLY)

During your battle with Vic Viper, find the passage to Capris Canyon in the North-East section of the map. Above the passage is a terrace with a stone formation on it, shoot the formation to expose the EX-Mission Icon. You cannot go over to it, so target it and use sub-weapon Wisp to grab it.

#03. Margaritifier

After the battle with Vic Viper, you'll fight off a bunch of Naritas. During the battle, ADA will mention reinforcements and estimate the battle time to be 90 seconds. Press :l3: to acknowledge ADA and she'll start a 90 seconds timer, you need to defeat all remaining Naritas before the timer runs out (this is the same criteria as Flash Knock Out). If you meet this criteria, the EX-Mission Icon will appear over the passageway to Capris Canyon.

#04. Margaritifier

On the map is a place called Sie's Lab, this is where the Metatron is. Just south of that on a lower terrace is a rock formation. Destroy the rock formation to expose the EX-Mission Icon.

#05. Margaritifier

On the south end of the map is a train wreck, search it to find the EX-Mission Icon.

#06. Margaritifier

On the northern edge of the area, between Sie's Lab and the passage to Capri Canyon, is a lone rock formation. Destroy it to expose the EX-Mission Icon.

#07. Capri Canyon

Take the path to your left and follow it until the path forks; straight or left. Follow the left path and at the end of the path is a wall of rubble with the EX-Mission Icon floating in the air.

#08. Fort City: Depths 1

Once you enter the depths of Fort City, you will be in the first area with the various pillars that move back and forth; each of these areas have 3 floors. Reach the bottom part of the first floor but before going through the door, turn around and investigate one of the two corners to find an EX-Mission Icon.

#09. Fort City: Depths 1

Exactly the same as #08 but in the other corner of the same room.

#10. Fort City: Depths 1

Reach the third floor of the first area and before going through the door, turn around and you should see the EX-Mission Icon in the middle of the back of the room.

#11. Fort City: Depths (Lloyd)

During your fight with Inhert but before he makes the room go dark; go to the floor and search along the wall of the room and you should find the EX-Mission Icon.

#12. Underground Aumaan 1

After the battle of Aumaan Crevasse, you'll be on an underground road to Aumaan; this room is structured with floors seperated by a ramped floor. You start on the first floor, when you reach the second floor there will be a small garage type building on the ground. Enter the building to find the EX-Mission Icon.

#13. Underground Aumaan 1

After you clear the second floor and reach the third floor you should notice three metal rafters spanning the room horizontally. Destroy the three rafters and then check to your right (when entering the room) where the first rafter was to find the EX-Mission Icon.

#14. Underground Aumaan 2

When you enter this area, simply clear the floors until you get a cutscene of Leopardo's entering the area. Clear that floor and proceed to the next floor and take notice of the single pillar sticking up in the middle of the room. The EX-Mission is at the top of that pillar.

#15. Underground Aumaan 2

At the end of this room before the exit there are two small passageways blocked with red lasers. The EX-Mission Icon is near the ground and near these passageways but below the exit you'll need to progress through.

#16. Phobos

After arriving on Phobos, Anubis will be trashed in a heap, though do not investigate it yet. Fly high into the sky and use :l2: to locate the EX-Mission Icon.

#17. Phobos

After getting the Icon in the sky, go back to the ground and fly away from Anubis towards the metal area and look around for another EX-Mission Icon.

#18. Phobos

After investigating Anubis, he'll sink into Phobos and leave you to fight remnants of the BAHRAM forces. After defeating them you'll encounter infinitely spawning Nephtis clones. You need to destroy a certain number of these (not sure, used to be 5) to make the EX-Mission Icon spawn to the right of where Anubis used to be.

#19. Phobos

Just like #18, after collecting that Icon keep killing Nephtis clones until another EX-Mission Icon spawns and then collect it.

#20. Clear Game x2

Simply beat the game twice and you should earn this.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1057/AA6.jpgRetro Runner (G)(H)

Clear Zoradius

The first step to earning this trophy is you must unlock the Zoradius mini-game. To do so you must collect the EX-Mission Icon that's available only on New Game + during your fight with Vic Viper (see nEXt Mission for details). Once you have that completed, go to Extra Missions from the Main Menu and select Vic Viper > Zoradius > Stage 01 and complete the mission to earn this trophy.

(Glitch) This trophy can be hampered by the Clear Game glitch. If you do not have at least one Clear Game Save on your hard drive at any time, you will not be able to access any of the Extra Missions.

This trophy can be a little difficult to perform at first, so here are some things you should understand. When enemies come in a line, shoot every enemy in the line to earn a power up. You should always get 2 speed ups first before anything else, otherwise you won't be fast enough to dodge or line up shots. You can also fire all 3 weapons repeatedly and at the same time by holding down their respective buttons. Even if you have every powerup, collect power ups until your icon is sitting where the ? is; this way if you lose your shield and you come under heavy fire you can immediately buy a new one. To make this even easier you can use a code to buy all powerups (sans Speed Up) right when the game starts. Pause the game and press; :up: :up: :down: :down: :left: :right: :left: :right: :l1: :r1: to receive all weapon powerups and a shield.

Unlock all the frames

(Missable) The first step to earning this trophy is merely completing the game; by the end of the game you will have all but 3 of the frames unlocked. To unlock the final 3 frames you will have to start a New Game + and find three VR Icons hidden in the main game. Once you've found all 3 of these icons, go to the Versus option of the Main Menu to earn this trophy.

(Glitch) This trophy can be hampered by the Clear Game glitch. If you do not have at least one Clear Game Save on your hard drive at any time, you will be not able to find the VR Icon to unlock the 3 special frames.

VR Icon Locations

[spoiler=FrameCollector]

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U3SExjiM5Wk]www.youtube.com/watch?v=U3SExjiM5Wk[/ame]

Aumaan Anubis (Capri Canyon)

Be sure to choose to have all sub-weapons available to you from the start, otherwise you will not be able to earn this versus frame. Now once you've reached Capri Canyon, take the path to the left and follow it until it forks straight and to the left. Take the path to the left and the end of the path will be blocked with rubble, use the Vector Cannon to clear the rubble and then enter one of the two passageways. In this room, fight off all the BAHRAM forces that appear and when they're all dead, leave this room and enter the next area. Here you will be attacked by Aumaan Anubis, luckily he is not as powerful as he is at the end of the game. Defeat him and search the area for the VR Icon and collect it to unlock Aumaan Anubis in Versus.

Inhert (Fort City: Depths 1)

In the first area of the Fort City Depths, you'll have to go down to the second floor of the first area. Now in the middle (vertical middle) of the room you need to look around for the VR Icon. It is tucked away in a corner and is hidden by one of the columns that cycle in and out of the room. You can use :l2: to lock onto it to have a better chance of finding it as well. Collect the VR Icon to unlock Inhert in Versus.

Naked Jehuty (Underground Aumaan 2)

At the end of the passageway there will be two small passageways blocked by red lasers; shoot either one of the sets of lasers to remove them and enter the passageway into a new area. In this area, you'll have to fight Naked Jehuty; Naked Jehuty doesn't take too much damage to put down but it can easily destroy you in one to two hits. Be sure to block and dodge anything it sends at you because you will not be able to take too many hits. Once you destroy it, go up into the sky to find the VR Icon and collect it to unlock Naked Jehuty in Versus.

You cannot play as Naked Jehuty to earn Naked Jehuty in Versus Mode.

Boss Data

Callisto - Ardjet (Beginner's Luck)

This fight is not too difficult as Ardjet is not very combat capable and leaves itself wide open after using its Wisps and Burst-Shot. She can block and parry but won't parry too long before resorting to blocking, in which case you can Burst-Slash through her shield. Her Wisps can be blocked or shot down with Homing Laser, and when she's recovering from that attack you can rush in and deliver a combo. Her Burst-Shot needs to be dodged but like her Wisps, she has a long recovery time so rush in and put the hurt on.

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0atHNFcskKc]www.youtube.com/watch?v=0atHNFcskKc[/ame]

BAHRAM Battleship - Nephtis (Stick Around)

This fight is not difficult at all and can be over very quickly. Simply fly to a corner of the room where there are multiple girders you can grab, and throw them at Nephtis till the fight is over or there are no more girders to throw. If you run out of girders in a location simply move to another and keep throwing them until the fight is over.

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KIiPvk8ruWk]www.youtube.com/watch?v=KIiPvk8ruWk[/ame]

Margaritifier - Vic Viper (Hello Old Friend)

Vic Viper has two modes, flight and melee. In his flight mode he can fire lasers, missiles, ripple lasers and the gauntlet sub-weapon; he'll also use a shield which will have to be taken out to continue damaging him and will gain options that mirror his attacks. The best method to attack him when he's in flight mode is Homing Lasers when he moves and Burst-Shots when he's stationary. When he turns into Melee mode, he loses most of his abilities but can still use Gauntlet. He's better at parrying that Ardjet and can be baited into doing a full combo, dodging, and then countering with your own combo.

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GqwNgRLNeYk]www.youtube.com/watch?v=GqwNgRLNeYk[/ame]

Capri Canyon / Vascilla City - Nephtis

The first half of this fight happens in Capri Canyon and you will be forced into Vascilla City once you knock Nephtis down to 50%. In Capri Canyon, you knock Nephtis off balance by using Gauntlet, grabbing the panels atop the pillars and using them as a shield or throwing them at Nephtis; once Nephtis is off balance, rush in and combo her.

Once you're in Vascilla City, you'll have to get her to hit the field surrounding the area. You can do this by using Gauntlet or baiting her into charging you and dodging. Once she's in the field, get close and combo - but don't get too reckless because the field can pull you in and leave you vulnerable for Nephtis.

Foundry - Nephtis

This is the last fight with Nephtis and unlike the previous fights, there is not much room to move around. To knock her off balance you can use Gauntlet, or use the enemy Frames as a shield or throw them at her. Once she's off balance, rush in and hit her with a combo; repeat this process until she's dead.

Foundry - Ardet / Viola AI (Farewell)

This fight is very unique as the Viola AI has control of Ardjet and you need to destroy the AI without destroying Ardjet. Ardjet has all the attacks she had in the fight at the start of the game. The Viola AI adds another attack where it directly attacks Ardjet, the way to counter this attack is by attacking Ardjet; you can use the grab command to stop the attack without hurting the frame. The way to destroy the AI is to wait for Ardjet to swing her sword and you need to parry her; after you parry enough attacks Ardjet will be knocked off balance, once she's off balance you can grab her to drain the AI. Simply repeat this process until the AI is completely gone.

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1kV65xVlZ-E]www.youtube.com/watch?v=1kV65xVlZ-E[/ame]

Fort City: Depths - Inhert (InHurt)

Inhert is a two phase fight, the first phase the lights are on and Inhert flies around very fast. He'll drop stationary mines and homing mines as he flies around on top of shooting waves at you. He's not too shabby in melee combat either but if you find yourself parrying, block and bait him into a combo before countering with your own combo. Once he's reached 50% of his health, you'll reach phase two.

In phase two, he turns off the lights and the fight changes completely. ADA will lock on to his frame and you will have to move towards him while listening to her orders to evade his attacks; if ADA says F-Mine Evade, you need to dodge left or right. His mines not only fly towards you but also slide backwards towards Inhert so be careful about how you dodge. If Inhert starts attacking recklessly and ADA gives no orders, simply keep dodging to the left or right until he stop sending F-Mines and bullet waves. His final ability is to fake you out and leave mines in his place when you finally reach him. Either way once you reach him, fight him with melee attacks and you can still bait him into a combo.

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gY07KnWIr00]www.youtube.com/watch?v=gY07KnWIr00[/ame]

Vascilla Sky - Zakat (Taking You Down)

Zakat is a two phase fight and very easy to take out. The first phase of Zakat has his weak point be the core stem inside the body of the frame. His main attacks are a giant laser, smaller lasers off to his sides, a shield and every so often he'll try to ram you. All the attacks are easy to dodge and to remove the shield you need to pull panels off of it. He will still fire his lasers when shielded and you can use the panels as a shield if you don't want to dodge his attacks. Once you take the boss down to 50% he'll enter phase two.

In phase two, Zakat's weak point becomes his head at the top of the frame's body, it will have a shield but you can easily break through it. His attacks will become small bombs that will home in on you, a gravity well type thing (just block it and let it touch you), melee attacks from the arm type appendages near its head and it will also fire lasers at you if it knocks you away. The only dangerous attack here are the bombs but those can be evaded by dashing away when they get close, everything else is easy to negate.

Compressed Space - Anubis (It's Over)

Anubis is one of the longest boss fights in the game and you are at a severe disadvantage in this fight. The first thing you should know is that Jehuty has lost all of its sub-weapons, it has lost its ranged attacks, and you cannot block anything. Since you cannot block, you will need to be good at dodging whatever Anubis sends your way. Anubis has its own version of everything Jehuty has, the most dangerous attacks are his blood lasers and burst shot. The blood lasers are like Jehuty's homing lasers but can also stun-lock you which opens you up for a lot of damage. Anubis's burst shot has a slight homing capability and is relatively easy to dodge but also has the largest recovery time, this allows you to rush in and perform a combo. Two important things to note are you should not 0-Shift recklessly as you'll undoubtedly eat a burst-shot if you do, and while it is possible to perform a burst-combo, you need to be fast as Anubis will be able to avoid the final hit.

Once Anubis reaches 50% health, he becomes more aggressive with melee attacks and can easily parry your attacks. If he parries for a length of time he can grab you with his tail and try to attack you while you're off balance, he also may go into a block or 0-Shift behind you. If he blocks, you can perform a burst-slash to break his shield, but if you do two regular strikes in a row he will grab you with his tail. If he 0-Shifts behind you, he'll try to perform a burst-slash on you. His burst-slash is actually a four hit combo, if you listen closely you can hear his strikes and can move in immediately after the fourth strike for your own combo. So once he becomes more melee oriented you'll just need to watch your positioning and be sure not to strike too much when he has his guard up.

Phobos - Aumaan Anubis (It's Over, For Real!)

Not much has changed about Anubis from the battle in Compressed Space; all of his abilities are here with a few changes. His Burst-Shot has a much better tracking system and it's almost necessary to 0-Shift to him once it passes you or it can loop around and hit you. The one positive change is it now takes 3 strikes against his guard for his tail to knock you off balance, so there's more leeway there. His one new ability will have him summon many of the giant hexagon panels form the room and surround himself with them and an impenetrable shield. If you let the panels linger on him too much he will restore health; however, you can destroy them with a Burst-Shot or the Homing Lasers. Take heed that while he's shielded and absorbing the panels he will be able to fire his own Burst-Shot at you, but note that your own shots can cancel out his burst shot.

Great guide, thanks! :D But a couple of things:

1: Saves also count for lowering your rank... which can be a good thing. If you save during the final battle with an SS rank you can let yourself die several times (I died about 25 times), then rack up about 50+ saves and it should drop your rank to an A even from an SS.

2: On Zoradius there is an in game code that will make things a lil easier to do for people that have problems doing it legit. To do it you pause the game and press Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, L1, R1. This will give you all powerups except for the speedups.

And just to add, trying to SS rank the two rescue missions, gauntlet really comes in handy for the one in in Viscilia and the homing missiles for the one at Aumaan Crevasse. Spam these a lot and it should help considerably. (Thanks to Locke89 for the homing missiles tip)

Will edit saves in, the code in Zoradius will negate the trophy but thank you. I'm still editing notes and such in and will have videos up as well soon enough.

Your roadmap is misleading and/or wrong when it comes to playing through NG+

As I just learned first hand after playing through the game again up to where I needed the last VS Frame and it was not appearing because I was the frame I am suppose to beat.

If you start NG+ with Naked Jehuty you cannot fight it. I've tried reloading the game, reloading the save, everything and Naked Jehuty will not show up in the underground entrance. The only explanation I've found online is because I am playing through as Naked Jehuty as suggested in your Roadmap. You should change it and say to play through NG+ as Vr.2

Edit: And 1 continue will lower your rank by 1, anything more than 1 continue will lower your rank by 2. I am 100% sure because I ended up beating Anubis 5 times, once with no continues getting SS overall, once with 2 A ranks on both rescue missions and no continues which was an overall S rank, once with 6 and 5 continues, getting A on both rescue missions giving an overall B rank and finally once with 1 continue, getting A on both rescue missions for an overall A rank.

Moral of the story is:

If you got SS on both rescue missions, continue 5+ times for A rank.

If you replayed the game and got A and A on both rescue missions only have 1 continue.

I'm encountering an odd glitch with the nEXt Mission Trophy. I collected all the Ex mission 'tabs' last game with the exception of the one you get during the Vic Viper battle, but when I collected the one with the fight with Vic Viper, I didn't get the trophy. Did I encounter a glitch or something with this?

It was wrong and something I didn't get around to fixing last night but it is now. I never bothered to take Naked Jehuty into New Game + when I went for the other frames so that is my mistake. As for the continues I can't entirely agree with you there. I earned an SS overall and it took me over 12 continues to break it down to an A. Your number of saves could've been the reason, thought I don't know how strong a save affects the overall grade.

I can't say for certain, when you go to Extra Missions what does the overall % say?

Yes, if you use your SS save and have 1 continue it will lower you to S. 5+ continues will lower you 2 ranks. Not like it matter since most people will just reload the SS rank save for A rank but I played through the game again for run trying to get A rank on the rescue missions to get A rank overall and I picked up on this.

No it doesn't. Or if it's supposed to it glitched and i got it anyway lol. I used it and got the trophy.

I used the code inside of Zoradius and got the trophy as well when I finished it.

Same. I got every single EX Missions tab except the Vic Viper battle tab. When I got it and went to my Extra Mission menu it says I have 98% of the missions unlocked . . .

Apparently I'm missing a survival mission? But I collected every single tab!

You have to beat the game a 2nd time in order to unlock the final 2% on each of Jehuty's survival missions. It is the 20th EX mission. He should add that in the guide to prevent people from thinking their game glitched.

And I also used the Zoradius code and got the trophy.

I was about to come here to say this, you have to beat the game a 2nd time for the 20th EX mission. I was going nuts then I just beat the game again then went into the EX missions to see what I was missing then I had a 100%.

didn't use cheats on Zoradius though.

Huh. I don't remember it being that way in the PS2 version. Was that something added in for the European version? Or maybe I just don't plain remember it. Regardless I beat it a second time just now and got the trophy.

i thought i was doing something wrong with that trophy "nEXt Mission" but then after re going through the game, i found out i only missed a couple and the netih battle at the end has 2 ex missions and i had to do that so yeah. you have to go through the game a 2nd time in order to gather the others and be sure you don't over look anything and also she's right about the 2nd jehuty ver in order to get all the frames you need to go through them as 2nd version at lest that's how i did it.
