INTRODUCTION

Welcome to the HD remastered masterpiece Zone of the Enders! This third person mech game was Kojima Productions' second baby (after MGS) and it measured up to be one the best games on PS2! This mech game is not like others you've played or seen. It isn't clunky Armored Cores and it isn't heavy artillery mobile suits, it's fast moving, agile and high pace action Orbital Frames that you will be piloting. The game is very short, it can be completed in less than 3 hours if you skip the cutscenes.

**IMPORTANT: SAVE OFTEN AND IN DIFFERENT SLOTS BECAUSE YOU MAY HAVE TO BACKTRACK FOR CERTAIN TROPHIES / TO REDO MISSIONS TO GET A RANK**

Step Zero: Things to be aware of before starting the game

The first thing you should know is you can platinum this game in 1 playthrough if you choose to play on hard from the beginning (which is necessary for getting the A rank trophy). Since nothing carries over to NG+ you will likely need to farm your way at the beginning of the game for an hour or 2 to level up your character on this hard playthrough.

Let me clarify now that the only things you are graded on in this game are your continues (anything more than 5 will lower your rank by 1) and your scores on the rescue mission. Be aware NOW that the first boss fight in TOWN.1, Tempest, affects your rating for a rescue mission (see Homecoming King (S) trophy for more information). Finally, be sure when playing through the game, if you are following this guide, to have a second window open on the Hacker (S) trophy to ensure you get all those pick ups as you progress through the game. They are all very simple to get so it's not a stressful collectible hunt like other games.

A good way to go about this game is to follow this walkthrough:

http://www.gamefaqs.com/ps2/250646-zone-of-the-enders/faqs/11192

Following that walkthrough with this trophy guide is very easy and will ensure you get every trophy including all pick ups and avoid any mistakes in missing trophies. If you are playing this game for the first time it also helps you get through the game by outlining how to get through story progression (what to do next, what to avoid, etc).

Step One: HARD Playthrough, Aim for A Rank Overall

Play through the game on HARD and at the beginning of the game just farm enemies to level up ADA to level 8. Once that has happened progress through the story getting A ranks on all rescue missions, not dying (and not continuing) more than 5 times and being careful not to damage buildings when you do missions. This will allow you to finish the game with an A rank. MAKE SURE YOU SAVE AT HUB.1 (the last chance for you to save before the game ends) because we will be reloading this save for the other trophies. You should get every single trophy except Framed (G) and Salutatorian (S) in this step.

Step Two: Reload HUB.1 Save from HARD Playthrough, Aim for B Rank Overall

From your A rank save you can now let yourself get killed more than 5 times but less than 25 times and continue the game. Finishing the game you will get an overall ranking of B. This will get you the following trophies:

(S) Salutatorian

(G) Framed

Step Three: Clean Up / Another Playthrough

If you have saved in multiple slots and missed one of the missable trophies go back and clean it up or if you need the trophies for the B and A overall rank at the end game screen. The missable trophies are:

(G) Valedictorian

(S) Salutatorian

(B) Learn Gooder

(S) Gun Runner

(S) Hacker

(S) Silent Assassin

(G) Unhealthy Behavior

(S) Benedict Arnold

(S) Porter Pounder

(S) Bomb Squad

(G) Damage Control

TROPHIES WILL BE LISTED IN ORDER YOU SHOULD ATTAIN THEM WITH THE "COLLECTIBLE" TROPHIES LISTED AT THE BOTTOM ALONG WITH THE A RANK RESCUE MISSIONS.

Elite Frame Runner - (P)

Collected all Trophies

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1056/DEC.jpg - Valedictorian (G)(H)

Achieve an Overall Evaluation grade of A

This Trophy is MISSABLE

This will be the "hardest" trophy in the game. First you should immediately farm your way to level 6-8 by killing enemies in the beginning area of the game before you go to fight Tempest (Go to area change and go back to FACTORY.1 over and over again). This will take roughly 1-2 hours. To clear the game with an A rank you will need to have the following:

Continues: LESS THAN 5

Saves: Any amount of saves, this does not affect rating

Difficulty level: HARD

Play time: Under 5 hours (just to be safe)

Enemies defeated: Anything over 400 should suffice

Survivor rescue evaluation: A A A A A (You can get 1 B rank)

Overall evaluation: A

For example, here was my A rank scores:

Thanks to WilHiteWarrior for this information. If you are struggling with any of the bosses on hard mode (usually the ending bosses) you can input this cheat in the pause menu at the cost of going down 1 level to regain health/energy mid battle: :l1: :l1: :l2: :l2: :l1: :r1: :l1: :r1: :r2: :r1:

For how to get A rank on rescue missions see the Damage Control (G) trophy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1056/725.jpg - Salutatorian (S)(H)

Achieve an Overall Evaluation grade of B

This Trophy is MISSABLE

You can get this by playing through the entire game doing the same thing as you did for Valedictorian (G) EXCEPT be playing on NORMAL (Max rank that you can get on normal is B). Or you can save yourself the extra playthrough and just reload your Valedictorian (G) HUB.1 save, die and continue more than 5 times when fighting Zombie Nieth (but less than 25 times) and you will get a B rank when you clear the game.

This will be the first trophy you earn in the game shortly after ending the first part of the tutorial. The battle is extremely simple and quick just attack with :square: (melee is faster) until you enter a cutscene.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1056/562.jpg - Learn Gooder (B)

Complete all of the in-game tutorials

This Trophy is MISSABLE

Just go to explanation on the tutorial screen and quit back to the tutorial menu after beating Viola for the first time, once all the subheadings are white click end tutorial and the trophy will pop.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1056/9BA.jpg - Homecoming King (S)(H)

Defeat Tempest

This is story related and cannot be missed

**IMPORTANT INFORMATION ON THIS BOSS FOR A RESCUE MISSION**

You will face Tempest when you reach TOWN.1 on the global map. This battle is very unique because it is the only boss fight that affects your rating in a rescue mission (#2). The damage done to buildings here will stay damaged when you come back to do the rescue mission so it is important to have less than 2 destroyed buildings when you finish the Tempest fight. To do this a good strategy is:

1. At the beginning of the fight fly up to Tempest's bowl shaped head at the top of the screen, you should be level 6+ assuming you are going for A ranks on your hard playthrough. This will enable you to eat his flamethrower attacks with minimal damage (but you can dash back when he starts using the flamethrower to avoid more damage). Doing this will prevent him from using his fireballs and keep all the buildings in tact for the first half of the boss battle. He will trample over some street lights but that is unavoidable and doesn't really matter.

2. When you have him lured to the bridge fly around 90 degrees to be over the ditch area so he isn't facing any buildings. This will cause his attacks in the 2nd part of the fight (where he uses fireballs) to fly into the ground below the bridge. I liked to use the ranged :r2: + :square: energy ball on him right as he landed and then fly beneath the bridge to avoid damage (waiting there until he landed and then fly back up and charge my shot and as soon as his head came back up released the shot and flew back down).

Using this strategy should get you through the fight with no buildings destroyed. When the battle is over pick up the Metatron and LEAVE THE AREA immediately (and do not return until you have the rescue mission). This will prevent the enemies that have spawned in from destroying the town. You can get the JAVELIN when you return on the rescue mission.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1056/AF8.jpg - Silent Assassin (S)

Take out the EPS relay block before eliminating any enemies

This Trophy is MISSABLE

When you first enter CITY.1 you will be tasked with taking out the core while the energy field is active (but gosh darnit, it prevents you from using energy weapons!). DO NOT KILL ANY ENEMIES (if you are engaged hit :l1: to untarget enemy and run away) just Area Change right away. So what you have to do is find some primitive cave man weapon from Earth called a Sniper Rifle which is located in TOWN.2 after you destroy the "Porters" to reveal it. Go back to CITY.1 and snipe out the white dots on the rotating core of the giant tower and the trophy will pop as long as you didn't kill a single enemy. Then you can go ahead and kill the enemies.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1056/FA9.jpg - Benedict Arnold (S)(H)

Defeat 10 enemies while controlling the Raptor

This Trophy is MISSABLE

When you find the raptor in TOWN.2 in order to access EPS.2's underground tunnel you just have to go around the kill 10 enemies. Very simple, you can do this in TOWN.2 or back and do it on EPS.2. Be sure to be careful and after you have about 50% health left on your raptor try to find an enemy that has a METATRON to beat them and get a health refill.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1056/975.jpg - Power Down (B)(H)

Destroy the Power Facilites in EPS1 & EPS2

This is story related and cannot be missed

You have to go to EPS.1 and EPS.2 and disable the giant satellites on those maps by destroying the underground generators. In order to destroy EPS.2 you will require help from a non-manned frame to get past the entry energy field which is found in TOWN.2.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1056/31A.jpg - Unhealthy Behavior (G)(H)

Defeat 10 enemies when under the influence of the Virus

This Trophy is MISSABLE

When you first meet the TYRANT boss in PARK.1 you will have to leave the area because you do not have the capable tools to beat him, but when you leave you will be infected with a virus. You will have to go and find the vaccine in FACTORY.2 but before you do that you can kill 10 enemies in FACTORY.2 --OR-- you can do the easy rescue mission (which you have to do while infected anyways) and get 5 kills then go to FACTORY.2 and kill 5 more enemies. If you have a ranged subweapon (likie the Gauntlet) it can make this trophy easier. This trophy may be a little frustrating because you die in 1 hit, so you will have to beat 10 enemies without getting hit once. I've made a video here outlining a good strategy:

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=97v4d7TPeDM&list=UUv6XNbKSSxmhv-tzHhtnsxw&index=2&feature=plcp]Zone of the Enders HD - Unhealthy Behavoir Trophy/Achievement Commentary[/ame]

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1056/CDC.jpg - Anti-Virus (B)(H)

Get ADA back online using the Vaccine

This is story related and cannot be missed

Find the underground entrance in FACTORY.2 (Hit start, open your map and look for the white >>> indicating the underground entrance) and beat the level 1 raptor without getting hit to access the vaccine and unlock this trophy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1056/763.jpg - Good Samaritan (S)

Achieve an A Rank in any Rescue Mission available

This is story related and cannot be missed

Well as "hard" as the first 4 rescue missions were to get A rank don't fret because you'll automatically get an A rank on the last rescue mission in the CITY.1 area because the civilians can't die and there is no buildings to destroy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1056/AF3.jpg - The Bigger They Are (S)(H)

Defeat Tyrant

This is story related and cannot be missed

You will encounter this boss much later in the game when you can finally access PARK.1 (after getting all the required modules to face him with a chance of winning). Make sure you have the DECOY weapon ready for this battle and use it when you see the red circle surround your frame. For the first half of the battle just pick your moments to attack, I found using the burst energy ball attack was very effective. In the second part of the battle, just fly up and down with :x: and :triangle: to avoid his dashing attacks (or throw geysers). Pick your moments to attack again, I found using the burst energy ball to be most effective here as well.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1056/2E2.jpg - Nebulous (S)(H)

Defeat Nebula

This is story related and cannot be missed

This is probably the longest boss in the game. The first half of the battle will be you hitting him with any attack you want. I used the standard dash :r2: + :square: attack. At 50% health he will transform and do a bunch of crazy stuff like fly around the screen and shoot missiles + lasers + discs at you and try to lock onto you for big damage. Simply wait until he becomes stationary and then attack his head. While this doesn't do damage you need to do this to stagger him and attack his real weak point (which ADA will automatically lock onto). I found spamming the burst attack :r2: + :square: was the most effective at damaging him in the staggered state.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1056/34E.jpg - You Again?! (S)(H)

Win your second encounter against Neith

This is story related and cannot be missed

You'll encounter Viola a second time here and this time the battle is for keeps! This battle is straightfoward and I suggest you try to melee dash attack her because she moves so fast any projectile weapon is likely to miss and give her an opening to hit you.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1056/96D.jpg - Bomb Squad (S)

Disarm all the bombs in HUB 1 correctly

This Trophy is MISSABLE

After you beat Viola for the second time and get the You Again?! (S) trophy you will be placed in HUB.1, the final section of the game (and the last time you will be able to save, right as you start in HUB.1 the game offers a save I suggest you save here). What you want to do here is kill all the enemies as fast as you can and then grab the bomb with :circle: and hold it down until the bomb disarms. Do this for all 4 bombs and the trophy will pop. Video guide here:

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vg4BL9Ahc38&list=UUv6XNbKSSxmhv-tzHhtnsxw&index=1&feature=plcp]Zone of the Enders HD - Bomb Squad Trophy/Achievement Commentary[/ame]

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1056/EA3.jpg - Third Time's the Charm (S)(H)

Defeat Zombie Neith

This is story related and cannot be missed

After disarming the bombs Viola's frame will reconstruct itself and you'll be in for a third battle with her. This time using ranged attacks like the BOUNDER become a more viable strategy before she launches off her fireballs (giving you time to doge after you shoot the bounder) but beware because Viola's projectile attacks will deal a lot more damage now. You can also go in for melee.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1056/CBD.jpg - Winning (G)(H)

Survive the battle with Anubis

This is story related and cannot be missed

Well, the final boss isn't really a battle it is a survival mission. You cannot harm this god-like frame all you have to do is run while you wait for help. Keep tapping :r2: to boost around the map and avoid Anubis' teleport grabs, projectile attacks and melee strikes.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1056/DBE.jpg - Framed (G)

Unlock all the frames

This is story related and cannot be missed

Very simple, once you clear the game (any difficulty, any ending rank) you will be asked to save clear data and hit YES. From the main menu reload your last save (which should be on HUB.1) and clear the game again which will unlock the two secret frames and this trophy will pop.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1056/7DB.jpg - Damage Control (G)

Earn an A Rank in all 5 rescue missions

This Trophy is MISSABLE

This will go hand in hand with the Valedictorian (G) trophy. To get A ranks on the rescue missions you need to ensure that damage to infrastructure of the area stays below 10% and you save 100% of the civilians. It is HIGHLY recommended you make a save while on the global map before entering a rescue mission so you can reload the save if you do not get the A rank.

It is important to go to the rescue mission when it appears on the screen (as an orange S.O.S.) because if you go progress in the story damage to the town and survivors will occur! As recommended in the Roadmap, make sure you farm levels in the beginning of the game to level 6-8. This will ensure you are ready to deal with anything the game has to offer.

**Note that the damage to buildings in the FIRST BOSS BATTLE (TEMPEST) will count towards the overall damage in Rescue Mission 2, so when fighting this boss make sure you have very little/no destroyed buildings (See the Homecoming King (S) trophy for the strategy to use to beat him)**

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1056/A77.jpg - Porter Pounder (S)

Destroy 40 Porters

This Trophy is MISSABLE

Porters will be introduced when you need to find the Sniper Rifle, they are little "pots" spread around the map (purple squares on the start menu) that you have to destroy in order to gain access to a code or local server. There are 48 total porters in the game and you will be destroying all the Porters you come across when going for the Hacker (S) trophy. They are very hard to miss because they will appear from natural story progression but just for safe measure the porter locations (taken from the walkthrough linked in Step Zero of the Roadmap) are:

TOWN.2 - For the Sniper subweapon (Story related).

EPS.1 - They will appear on the map after you destroy the underground relay and and exit the underground area. It gives the subweapon Halberd.

EPS.2 - Will appear in the underground station on your way to the relay after taking the right path to obtain the Detector program. They only give a Metatron though

CITY.2 - As soon as you enter they are on the map, destroying them all will give Comet subweapon.

EPS.2 - When Jehuty goes back to EPS.2 to get the Detector, when you come out of the underground relay station there will be a vertical line of ports to destroy right in front of you for the subweapon Gauntlet.

FACTORY.2 - After the previous porters, when you head back to FACTORY.2 (after obtaining the passcodes to get the DECOY subweapon from the same place you got the anti-virus) and destroy the porters here for the trophy and 5 Decoy ammo which is needed to beat Tyrant.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1056/9E1.jpg - Weapon Finder (S)

Find 5 sub-weapon drivers

This Trophy is MISSABLE

See Hacker (S) trophy

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1056/8CE.jpg - Weapon Finder (S)

Find 10 sub-weapon drivers

This Trophy is MISSABLE

This trophy is partly linked to finding all the passcodes which is for the Hacker (S) trophy. To find all 10 sub-weapons you need to find their passcodes which is listed under that trophy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1056/3CE.jpg - The Seeker (S)

Find 7 passcodes

This is story related and cannot be missed

Not missable because you need 7+ codes to progress through the story. See Hacker (S) trophy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1056/274.jpg - Hacker (S)

Find 14 passcodes

This Trophy is MISSABLE

These pick ups are from destroying enemies or porters to obtain a passcode to open the local server on the map. In other words, kill the enemies with PASSCODE under their name and the orange "treasure" on the map (when you hit Start) will turn green indicating you can access it. You don't have to stress too much on this trophy since all the pick ups are revealed when you enter a new area (for story progression) and hit Start and it shows porters that can be destroyed or spinning pyramid (either orange meaning you need the passcode or green if you got the passcode) indicating there is a pickup you can get here.

Below is a list of all passcodes (including weapon codes) that you can find on the map. THIS DATA WAS TAKEN FROM GAMEFAQS --> I TAKE ZERO CREDIT FOR THIS LIST. ALL CREDIT GOES TO AdrenalineSL.

"*" : Those marked with this symbol signifies that it is a sub-weapon.

monitor.fcmd Factory.1 (Part of story progression)

````````````
This program is the first Jehuty autonomously installs into its mainframe.
With it, the player can activate the command menu, which allows him to
assume total control over the game's components, like saving, equipping
sub-weapons, etc. The program also comes with an extra option that endows
Jehuty with the ability to lock-on to enemies.
global.fcmd Factory.1 (After you beat Tempest, Part of story progression)
```````````

Activates Jehuty's transportation system. Jehuty can leave the current area

to explore the uncharted regions, aka the "world map". This is achieved

through selecting AREA CHANGE on the menu screen.

antilia.info Factory.1 (After you beat Tempest, Part of story progression)

````````````
A program that contains info on the EPS facilities, with which ADA uses to
locate the EPS energy sources.
decoy.drvr Factory.2 (When you return to Factory.2 after curing the virus, Part of story progression)
``````````

This program enables Jehuty to make a disposable replica of himself to give

the full illusion that he is there, but really not. Get it? Beguiled

enemies commence attack on the clone instead, you see. The decoy program is

an integral element in totally trashing one of the bosses you meet later

on in the game.

javelin.drvr Town.1 (After Tempest fight, See Homecoming King (S) trophy)

````````````
Allows Jehuty to wield sub-weapon, Javelin--the first of many sub-weapons
you will find. Javelins follow an arc trajectory when released, so they
don't work really well when thrown from afar. Plus, its impact isn't all
too powerful either.
sniper.drvr Town.2 (Part of story progression)
```````````

A primitive weapon from earth. Strangely enough, this model had been built

to accommodate Jehuty's size, considering that he IS bigger than an

apartment complex and all. With it in possession, Jehuty can blast (small)

things into oblivion from a long-range. The sniper is a story-driven

weapon, so you can't miss it. And after it has lent its services to a

certain task, the sniper rifle won't be needed any longer. Apart from the

services rendered, yeah, it'd be pretty useless.

phalanx.drvr Town.2 (After you beat the second boss)

````````````
The Phalanx is a pretty nifty shot that can pump out rapid shots, much like
a machine gun. Of course, you would need enough ammunition to do so. It
does a fair amount of damage to low-leveled enemy frames; nothing really
worth writing oodles of words for.
geyser.drvr City.1
```````````

Once set, chains of lasers are released from these tiny devices, forming

a small, temporary barrier in its vicinity. If anything (besides the one

who called forth the geysers) is even nicked by it, the victim will suffer

sharp pain. These lasers sear through even the toughest metal. They are

best deployed in a confined area.

comet.drvr City.2

``````````
Comets are huge energy balls that can auto-target enemies--it has homing
missile physics, I guess. Like the Javelin, it also runs on an arc
trajectory, so it's not too challenging for opponents to surmount. And um,
it's shaped like a comet.
halberd.drvr EPS.1
````````````

As a very sophisticated weapon, it's still in its rudimentary stages. The

Halberd summons and collects "spirit energy", then concentrates it at one

point, which is the "palm" of Jehuty's hand. This program grants Jehuty the

know-how's to control this condensed energy, allowing him to draw it out

and retract it at will. It ultimately can become a type of sword. However,

Jehuty will be immobilized while it is "unsheathed".

rap_ctrl.fcmd EPS.1 (Part of story progression)

`````````````
A mind control program that influences only unmanned Raptors. Yes, that
means you get to be behind the pilot seat of a pathetic Raptor to see how
inscrutably weak it is. Why, Konami, why?! It appears that this is another
story-driven program. Without its acquisition, you won't be able to
complete the game!
gauntlet.drvr EPS.2
`````````````

The most awesome and all-dominating sub-weapon (in my opinion, only, so put

down the torches and pitchforks). Easy to manage and can really knock an

enemy dead with cold efficiency. Basically, it goes really, really fast

at an opponent (fast enough that he can't escape from it) and smacks him

dead on without fail (unless it's thrown totally off-target).

detector.fcmd EPS.2 (Part of story progression)

`````````````
This program enables Jehuty to detect previously invisible objects. One of
The numerous key programs to completing the game. Whee.
bounder.drvr Mountain.1 (Part of story progression)
````````````

The Bounder is probably the most powerful sub-weapon. Its target hit rate

isn't as great as the gauntlet's, making it less useful when compared to

the all-dominating gauntlet. w00t! Using it in small, confined areas makes

up for its flaw, however.

mummy.drvr City.1 (Can appear before or after meeting Tyrant boss/Getting virus)

``````````
Hideo sure has a strange knack for naming things. Looking past its rather
strange appellation, the mummy is, by far, the MOST USEFUL sub-weapon ever.
Useful in the field of healing, that is. Yes, it's not an offensive
sub-weapon, so don't expect all enemies to suddenly drop dead upon using
it. When summoned, the mummy builds a shield in front of Jehuty as though
it's protecting him. It's the same metallic armor the Raptors use to become
Mummyheads. However, its fallback is that it's very rare and can only be
found in places marked with a "?". Don't let them go to waste! When Jehuty
is using Mummy, fast movement is impossible. Jehuty cannot receive any
damage in his "mummified" stage. If he does, the healing process will be
interrupted.
You can only get an overall A rank by beating it on Hard or above with all A's on the rescues, and Normal and above for overall B rank. Highest you can get for Easy is a C overall. They also do not stack.
Thank you for clearing that up! There is something odd going on with the site not saving everything properly I think :S
I went through hard for my A rank earlier. When I beat the game these were my stats
Continues: 1
Saves: 26
Difficulty level: Hard
Play time: 4:06'10
Enemies defeated: 890
Survivor rescue evaluation: A A A A A
Overall evaluation: A
So youre allowed quite a few saves if that even matters at all. I also farmed myself up to level 8 on the factory to give myself a fair chance at A ranking the second rescue mission. But as has been stated before the A rank and B rank trophies don't stack... so I reloaded my save at the final section of the game and let myself die 25 times and ended up with these stats
Continues: 27
Saves: 26
Difficultly level: Hard
Play time: 4:57'41
Enemies defeated 890
Survivor rescue evaluation: A A A A A
Overall evaluation: B
So it seems the main thing that matters are difficulty and rescue missions but there IS a limit on how many times you can continue... I'm not sure what that limit is though
I went through hard for my A rank earlier. When I beat the game these were my stats
Continues: 1
Saves: 26
Difficulty level: Hard
Play time: 4:06'10
Enemies defeated: 890
Survivor rescue evaluation: A A A A A
Overall evaluation: A
So youre allowed quite a few saves if that even matters at all. I also farmed myself up to level 8 on the factory to give myself a fair chance at A ranking the second rescue mission. But as has been stated before the A rank and B rank trophies don't stack... so I reloaded my save at the final section of the game and let myself die 25 times and ended up with these stats
Continues: 27
Saves: 26
Difficultly level: Hard
Play time: 4:57'41
Enemies defeated 890
Survivor rescue evaluation: A A A A A
Overall evaluation: B
So it seems the main thing that matters are difficulty and rescue missions but there IS a limit on how many times you can continue... I'm not sure what that limit is though
I'll probably find out first hand roughly how many saves can be used if they are applicable because I tend to save a LOT so I'll probably go over your 26. But we'll see, this is a short game so I may not even hit 26 lol.
Okay after running this part several more times to determine what the max number of allowed continues is I've found that it's 4. 5 or more will drop your rank to a B it seems
And the refill health and ammo cheat does NOT disable trophies btw. I used it once during one of the boss fights and I still got my A rank and trophy
Can you please tell me how you did the Tempest fight and rescue mission 2 to get under 10%. please put as much detail as possible as I'm going insane over this part of the game.
Sure... first thing I did was farm myself up to level 8 on the factory.. that's not 100% necessary but it helps
When fighting Tempest get up pretty close to him. Not right up against him or he'll knock you away. When you get up next to him he should keep doing this flamethrower attack on you... I just ate the damage from it... keep walking him backward along the road and shooting at his bowl head. He'll run over a couple of those traffic lights (or whatever they are) and destroy them... not much you can do about that though. When his bowl head is gone he'll fly up into the air. Wait at the bridge for him to come back down and when he does turn him 90 degrees to your left so that he's facing along the ditch or whatever you wanna call it. This way he won't be shooting at the town. From there just keep shooting his head until he goes down. Also at the start of the tempest fight keep a close watch and make sure he doesn't do that bomb attack and destroy all the buildings around him. If he does it's best to just reload your save and try again
After the fight is over quickly go and get the metatron ore then immediately leave the area. Don't bother getting the passcode, it'll still be there when you get back.
As for the actual rescue mission... there's not much I can say there... I try to fight over the ditch as much as I can and take all the enemies down as quickly as possible. Keep a close eye on your map and if you can aggro more than one squad at a time... Try to take out the mummyhead's first... Use your blade as much as possible so your stray shots don't hit buildings... even using this strategy I barely got it. ended up with 9.8% buildings destroyed.
Good luck... keep at it and you'll get it
Thanks, I will try it later and farm first. My main problem so far is the Tempest fight as he always destroys those six buildings, which make it impossible to get under 10% :/
heh, I just did a speed run on Hard and A ranked the missions. Time was 1hr 30 minutes give or take a few. Now to die 25+ times and get my platinum :D
Thanks for the quick guide
Edit: http://www.ps3trophies.org/forum/images/smilies/eek.gif I just died 11 times and went to the final fight and wanted to finish my last few deaths there but I couldn't die. Still got the B rank though.
One question: must rescue missions be played right away? I'm having a hard time getting A on the first one, if I go something else and come back will it still be available?
Just don't progress too far into the story, it is recommended that you level up before attempting the rescue missions.
If you don't go there immediately then some of the survivors will die so yeah if you want an A rank then it is necessary to do it immediately
Yeah your best bet to avoid that is to immediately fly up close to him and that might keep him from doing it.
Thanks so much. After leveling up yesterday, I tried Tempest with your tactic and only one building got destroyed. Cleared the rescue mission with 9.8 on my first try.
Now I just need to beat the rest on hard and I'm good to go. The other rescue missions are not nearly as hard.
Thanks for the awesome tips. So far I just beat Tempest and he didn't get to destroy anything, that the game warned me of anyways. I didn't level up to 8 though, was taking too long to farm and I got impatient with it, only to level 4. Tempest was a pain until I figured out a rhythm for blocking and blasting on his second phase.
EDIT: Towns 1 and 2 rescues A ranked. This isn't so bad really. Had more trouble with town 2 then 1. Town 1 took 7.6% damage, Town 2 took no damage but I had to restart several times on it. Not bad really. Hard really isn't so bad. Gonna farm one of the area's to level 8 once I have a break from rescues, lol. If you're making a Rescue mission section with tips the best tip is to boost around and try and gather all the enemy units together following you so they don't destroy crap on you. After that just fly high and find an area where there isn't buildings or survivors and use boost slashes to destroy them, focus on the mummyheads first like the other posts have said and keep trying. Tempest wasn't so bad either if you follow the tips.
Does anybody has a good order for rescue mission 3. I got the A rank on normal my first time but now I just can't get under 10%. My best was 11.1% and you can believe me that I was seriously pissed :p
The way in which the enemies act seems a little bit weird sometimes. What I do is kill the only moving squad at the start and then draw attention to me with the sniper, picking up the mummy groups first. Sometimes it works and the others stand still and sometimes they just seem to start moving all at once and keep destroying buildings.
EDIT: OK, just did it with about 4%
At first go straight for the moving group in front of you and then the groups that are not on the side. Leave the group of two mummys and the group of two enemies that don't have a range attack alone. Clear the other side and check the map to see, if a new group started moving a new one is coming. Focus on them first. If a group is not moving, they won't cause any damage.
Always use the sniper rifle to get them to the river and fight them down there. This is just about being careful but fast at the same time and choosing the rght enemy to fight first.
The 4th one is definitely the easiest. Just kill them and be careful since you can't get hit once. You don't have to be careful.
Now only one is left.
Patience is your friend on Rescue Mission 3. Keep a close eye on your map. The ones that aren't moving won't destroy any buildings so you dont have to fear them. With the patrols stay right in the center of the area where there's no buildings around and lock on to one of the patrols and let them come to you. After you check your map look at the stationary squads. Near some of them you'll see some other squads that are actually a little bit off the map. Pull the stationary one nearest to it to you and after you take them out the patrol will come. Pull the patrol as quickly as you can. As long as you fight them all over the center you should be okay. Occasionally a mummyhead might get stuck on the road which sucks when that happens but you might be able to take it out from a distance. If you cant fly over top of the road higher road and shoot it from above.
Honestly this second rescue mission on ZOE2 is driving me bananas. lol. Im starting to wonder if it's even possible without zero shift
