About the Game:

X-Men Destiny is an action & adventure RPG developed by Silicon Knights. In this game, some destines are chosen. You'll control the fate of one of three new mutants that are being introduced into the X-Men universe, each with his or her own background story. As you play through the game you'll be given choices that will decide the fate of humanity or its destruction. The game offers plenty of features of choice, such as allowing you to customize and enhance your mutant's powers and abilities through branching decision trees. The choices you make will decide who you fight alongside with or against some of Marvel’s greatest X-Men franchise characters such as Cyclops, Magneto, Wolverine, and Gambit.

Playthrough 1:

Story Mode:

The first playthrough of the game is where you'll be unlocking the vast majority of almost all the trophies. From the start of the game you'll be given a choice of one of three new rookie mutants as your playable character. Once you've chosen a Core Iconic Power for your mutant you’ll eventually run into Pyro. At this point, you should decide if you want your first playthrough to be an X-Men Faction or a Brotherhood Faction playthrough.

Once you've decided on which Faction you'll go with, it's highly recommended that you stick with it for the rest of the game. The story mode missions will always have a choice related towards either the X-Men Faction or Brotherhood Faction. These choices are given to you during conversion dialogues from X-Men franchise characters such as Cyclops, Magneto, Surge, and Quicksilver. When making a final decision you'll gain Faction Meter points added towards your desired first playthrough.

In the story mode, you'll encounter unique challenge missions. These challenge missions will have an effect on your Faction Level meter, but not all challenges. Simply ignore the challenges that a mutant from the opposing Faction side offers you and only do the ones that are related to your choice. If you keep this up throughout the game, you will get 1 side of all story related trophies and all the X-Men or Brotherhood trophies as long as you are being consistent with one of the Factions, then you have no problems to worry about.

In addition, during this playthrough there are a few things you should take note of. While playing through the game you should focus on collecting collectible items found throughout the world. Below is a short briefing of things that you should keep in mind:

Propaganda:

  • Throughout the world you’ll find red posters on the walls of buildings. These posters belong to the Purifiers, an anti-mutant extremist group. Finding and destroying 25 pieces of propaganda will unlock the Cleaned up the City (S) trophy. Thankfully, there are a total of 34 Propaganda throughout the world and only 25 of them are needed for the trophy.

Dossiers:

  • Throughout the world you'll find collectible cards that you can find throughout the game. These dossiers contain Bio information about Mutants or Factions. Finding and collecting 15 will unlock the Archivist (S) trophy. Thankfully, there are a total of 24 dossiers throughout the world and only 15 of them are needed for the trophy.

X-Genes:

  • Throughout the game you'll find X-Genes that are based on iconic X-Men/Brotherhood characters. X-Genes are used to modify your mutant's own abilities and/or appearance as well as granting them brand-new powers. X-Genes can be found hidden throughout the world, as a challenge reward items, or dropped by iconic characters.

Suits:

  • Like X-Genes, suits are themed around popular X-Men/Brotherhood characters and will change the look of the character. Suits can be found hidden throughout the world, as a challenge reward items, or dropped by iconic characters.

Unique Challenge Missions:

  • Throughout the game you'll find unique challenge missions that are either hidden within the story mode mission or they’re offered by an X-Men/Brotherhood mutant. There are a total of 15 unique challenge missions throughout the game. Completing all 15 unique challenge missions will unlock the Completionist (S) trophy, but remember on your first playthrough you can only manage to complete at least 10, since some challenge missions you'll have to ignore if they're against your Faction choice. Don't worry about missing a challenge mission or failing a challenge mission. If you fail a mission it's okay because once you've beaten the game, you can simply replay the challenge mission again by doing the following:
  1. Go to the Main Menu

  2. Select Load

  3. Select Your Save Character Data File

  4. Select Mission

  5. Select the Mission Level that's missing a Challenge

Fully Leveling All Powers:

  • While playing through the game you'll be collecting experience points. Your collected experience points can be spent in the in-game pause menu by pressing the :start: button and then selecting either X-Genes & Suits or Mutant Powers. You can gain experience points by defeating enemies, destroying propaganda, and completing mission objectives and challenge missions. Adding experience points towards genes can give you status boosts and other bonuses, while points towards your mutant abilities will enable you to unlock new abilities and attacks.

Playthrough 2: X-treme Difficulty

Important Note:

Once you have completed the game for the first time. You'll have the options to carry over everything that you have collected or unlocked such as current experience points, dossiers, propaganda, X-Genes, Suits, all your powers, and abilities, and enemy defeated statuses. You can do all of this by simply doing the following:

  1. Go to the Main Menu

  2. Select Continue

This will make your next playthrough a breeze and you'll be flying through it relatively much faster than your first playthrough.

Story Mode:

Once you have completed the game, go to the Main Menu and select Continue. Upon selecting continue you'll be given the opportunity to choose a difficulty. Select X-treme difficulty to ensure that you unlock the Omega Level Mutant (G) trophy on this playthrough. Since you're now familiar to the game, this playthrough will be a breeze and you'll be flying through it relatively much faster than your first playthrough because you'll carry over all your current upgraded powers and abilities as well as other in-game statistics.

Whichever Faction path that you have chosen during your previous playthrough, you'll now need to do the opposite Faction path during this playthrough. So if you were an X-Men Faction, be a Brotherhood Faction and make all the opposite decisions as you play through the story mode again and be sure to complete all the opposite Faction challenge missions that you had to ignore from your previous playthrough. And remember to continue collecting any collectibles that you missed during your previous playthrough. If you're having a difficult time with Omega Level Mutant, then please refer to its trophy description in the guide.

Clean Up:

Once you've completed the game for the second time, you'll have nearly all the trophies except for the defeated enemy related trophies. Thankfully, instead of doing a third playthrough you can simply clean up any trophies that you're missing via Select Mission and Select Challenge. These options will enable you to replay a certain story mode mission or a challenge mission over again. Utilize these two features to finish up all your defeat enemy trophies and to finish up any more collectibles trophies. If you need more information about how to grind defeats faster or collectible locations, then please check the guide for them and go finish and complete the trophies.

32.jpg This can't be happening! (B)

Complete your first Insane combo.

There's really no way to see exactly how many combos your mutant has performed. However, when fighting large groups of enemies you'll see Combat Text Pop Ups. You'll naturally end up performing an insane combo just by fighting a large number of enemies at once. Eventually you'll see the Combat Text Pop Up of: INSANE COMBO pop up on your screen. When this happened for the first time your trophy will pop. If you completed the game and you still have not unlocked this trophy yet there are a few different ways to unlock it. Once you've completed the game and the credits begins to roll, you’ll have full control over your mutant character and will be able to fight over 200 Purifiers while the credits are still rolling. This is an excellent opportunity to obtain the trophy for there are many enemies for you to defeat. You can also simply use your Ultra power by pressing both the :r2: + :circle: buttons and then attack a group of enemies with the :square: button. Your Ultra power can easily rank up combos and other Combat Text Pop Ups.

When fighting enemies you'll notice that there will be combat related text that pops up while defeating groups of opponents or by performing combos. For example, Great Combo, Awesome Combo, X-Treme Combo, Insane Combo, Astonishing, or # Enemies Left are all examples of combat text pop ups. Once these appear on your screen during your gameplay, simply press either the :square: or :triangle: buttons to perform combination combo attacks in an attempt to break the combat text pop up. It’s even much easier to break them just by jumping with the :cross: button and then pressing the :triangle: button. If your attack manages to hit it, the text will shatter and break similar to the sound of glass breaking. Rinse and repeat this process as you proceed through the story mode and you'll unlock this trophy naturally.

Defeat 10 enemies with one Ultra power.

This is another mutant power trophy. You'll obtain your Ultra power during Mission 7: Mutant War after meeting with Gambit and his henchmen. Unfortunately, the reunion is cut short and you'll have to fight a wave of MRD Troops and two Prime Enforcers. Right when the fight starts you'll receive your final and last mutant power in the game, your Ultra power, which you can activate at the cost of 4 M-Power by pressing the :r2: + :circle: buttons to transform into a powerful form for a brief amount of time. Simply defeat over 10 enemies while using your Ultra power before it expires. If you've defeated over 10 enemies before the transformation animation ends, you'll unlock the trophy.

43.jpg  Purify the Purifiers (B)

Defeat 2000 Purifiers.

Purifiers are an anti-mutant extremist faction. They are the most common enemies that you'll face throughout the majority of the game. By the end of your first playthrough you'll have over 1100 Purifiers defeated, even more Purifiers will be defeated as you're farming the other uncommon types of enemies from the challenge missions. It's also important to note that once you've beaten the game and the credits roll, you'll be able to defeat over 200 Purifiers while the credits are still rolling. These defeats will also count towards your 2000 Purifiers defeated. To keep track of all your statistics simply press the :start: button and then :triangle:

In order to farm defeats more quickly, simply replay Challenge Mission 9 to defeat 99 Purifiers along with 1 Prime Enforcer.

44.jpg  Mechageddon (B)

Defeat 20 Purifier Stalker Mechs.

Purifier Stalker Mechs are the two legged robots that you'll first encounter in Mission 4: Mutant Rescue a few more throughout the story mode and other challenges. Purifier Stalker Mechs only have three main attacks; a machine gun, stomp shockwave and a multiple stomp combo attack. Each of these attacks are easy to read and dodge by either simply jumping or rolling away. In order to defeat Purifier Stalker Mechs you'll have to deal enough damage to its legs until they collapse and expose their weak point. Once their weak point is exposed simply attack it to inflict damage to its health meter before it recovers again. If they do recover simply repeat the damaging their legs process over again until they collapse for you to finish it off. To keep track of all your statistics simply press the :start: button and then :triangle:.

In order to farm defeats more quickly, simply replay Challenge Mission 8 to defeat 1 Purifier Stalker Mech along with 29 Purifiers and 1 U-Men.

45.jpg  Reinforced (B)

Defeat 20 Prime Enforcers.

Prime Enforcers are Purifiers that were anti-mutant suits that are identical to the first boss fight's suit, Cameron Hodge. In fact, Prime Enforcers have the exact same attacks as Cameron Hodge. You'll first encounter Prime Enforcers in Mission 4: Mutant Rescue if you accepted either the Quicksilver or Colossus challenge mission. This challenge is Challenge Mission 9 were you'll have to defeat 99 Purifiers along with only 1 Prime Enforcer. You encounter more as you playthrough the story mode. In order to defeat them you must first disable their force field then simply attack them to inflict damage to its health meter. To keep track of all your statistics defeats simply press the :start: button and then :triangle:.

In order to farm defeats more quickly, simply replay Mission 7: Mutant War. This mission has 6 Prime Enforcers for you to defeat.

47.jpg  U Mad, Bro? (B)

Defeat 30 U-Men in the Secret Lab.

U-Men are an anti-mutant experimentation faction, who extracts mutant genes for their own gain. U-Men are the enemies who wear the green biohazard suits. You'll first encounter in Mission 4: Mutant Rescue in the U-Men secret lab facility. These enemy types are rare as they only appear during Mission 4 only. You can also face them in some of the challenges found on Mission 4 as well. In terms of defeating them, there are no real methods since they are basic enemies for you to fight and defeat. To keep track of all your statistics defeats simply press the :start: button and then :triangle:.

In order to farm defeats more quickly, simply replay Challenge Mission 7 to defeat 5 U-Men along with some Purifiers enemies.

48.jpg  The Goon Squad (B)

Defeat 500 MRD Troops.

MRD Troops are an anti-mutant group called the Mutant Response Division (or MRD for short). You'll first encounter MRD Troops near the end of Mission 6: Priorities and for the remainder of the game. They're two different types of MRD Troops; standard soldier troops with or without stolen mutant genes and transformed human sized Sublime mutants that are somewhat identical to the Sublime boss you fought in the U-Men secret lab facility. There are plenty of MRD troops for you to defeat during Mission 7: Mutant War and by the end of your first playthrough you'll be very close to getting your 500th defeat. To keep track of all your statistics simply press the :start: button and then :triangle:.

In order to farm defeats more quickly, simply replay Mission 7: Mutant War. This mission has well over 250+ MRD Troops for you to defeat. Another way to quickly farm defeats is by simply replaying Challenge Mission 15 to defeat 141 MDR Troops.

Finish the game on New Mutant difficulty.

See Omega Level Mutant for more information. If you played on X-treme difficulty, you will also unlock this at the same time.

Finish the game on X-Man difficulty.

See Omega Level Mutant for more information. If you played on X-treme difficulty, you will also unlock this at the same time.

51.jpg  Omega Level Mutant (G)

Finish the game on X-treme difficulty.

Simply complete the game on X-treme difficulty. X-treme difficulty is available from the start and finishing the game on X-treme difficulty will unlock all other difficulty related trophies. On X-treme mode, enemies will inflict slightly more damage but they take the same amount of damage to defeat as other lower difficulties. The only real trouble that you’ll face is the boss fights especially if you don't know their attack patterns when you first face them. The difficulty is also somewhat affected by your mutant's Core Iconic Power. Which power you've chosen during the Rally Attack will have an effect on your gameplay. If you're a melee fighter type mutant you might want to use Defensive X-genes that either increases health/armor (Colossus/Juggernaut) or a static dodging gene that's able to stun or knock-back enemies whenever you dodge (Surge/Juggernaut). If you're a range fighter type mutant you might want to use Utility X-Genes that either increase your M-Power Meter or a gene that will quickly help refill your M-Power Meter during combat (Cyclops/Emma Frost). Last of all, regardless of which type of Core Iconic Power that affected your mutant’s abilities, you'll want to use Offensive X-Genes that deals damage overtime or area damage (Iceman/Surge/Toad/Wolverine).

Some Tips:

  • Destroy power up crates to replenish your Health and M-Power meter
  • Improve your equipped X-Genes by spending XP
  • Equipping a completed X-Gene set and suit set will give you a bonus boost to statics by unleashing X-Mode
  • Find X-Genes to gain an advantage against enemies
  • Destroy Propaganda for extra XP towards your X-Genes and Mutant Powers
  • Find and complete Challenge Missions for extra XP
  • Parrying attacks will boost your M-Power meter
  • Memorize enemies and bosses attack patterns
  • Low on health at a certain checkpoint? Replay a Challenge Mission to refill your health from the Load menu
  • While fighting standard enemies the 1-2-3 hit combo and dodge is always effective.
  • Invulnerable mutant powers are a most have since you're immune to most damaging attacks.
  • Healing mutant powers are also a must have power.

It has been reported that this trophy can be unlocked by glitching it. I've tested this on my 2nd account and I can confirm that this glitch does indeed work. In order to perform the X-treme difficulty glitch you must do the following:

  1. Beat the game on either New Mutant or X-Man difficulty.

  2. At the main menu screen select Continue

  3. When given difficulty settings select X-treme

  4. When game loads simply press the
    :start:
button and select Quit and the select Yes to return to the main menu

  5. Now select Load Game, go to your mutant save file and Select Mission to load the final mission of Final Showdown

  6. Simply finish the entire mission and beat the final boss

This phase is exactly the same as phase 1. Only this time he has three new attacks he'll use against you which are again easily dodged with the :circle: button. Continue attacking him until he once again jumps on the roof to taunt you.

Phase 3:

This is the final phase, and there's nothing special to say here since nothing has changed. Continue dodging and attacking him like you've done during phases 1 and 2 and you'll finally defeat Gambit.

Phase 1:

During this is phase of the battle, the Sublime's attacks will be identical towards Colossus's abilities and powers. He'll pick up and through a throw a rock you way if you’re too far away from him. It's best to dodge all of his attacks with the :circle: button, although you can block his standard arm combo attacks. Simply continue to attack him with your own standard combo attacks. Whenever he's about to slam his fist onto the ground, you should immediately dodge instead of blocking because blocking it will still inflict damage towards your health meter. You'll want to have a near full health meter that will last you into phase 3 because phase 3 is the hardest part of this battle.

Phase 2:

During this phase of the battle, the Sublime's attacks will now be identical towards Quicksilver's abilities and powers. Since he now has superhuman speed he'll be dashing across the area and will sometimes throw a rock towards you. He also now has a double fist slam attack that will generate a shockwave and will cause rocks to fall from the ceiling, which can both harm you. Simply attack him with your standard combo attacks and then dodge him whenever he fights back. This time when you reduce his health meter enough he'll dash towards the center of the field to regenerate his lost health. Whenever this happens, simply run towards a power generator in the corners of the room and press the :cross: button to disable it. He'll come charging at you with his superhuman speed and will destroy the power generators. Rinse and repeat this process over again until all power generators are destroyed and you depleted his health meter once again.

Phase 3:

This is the final phase of this battle. Hopefully you've managed to keep a large portion of your health when you fought him during phases 1 and 2. The Sublime's attacks will now be identical to Surge's abilities and powers. Since he's a giant now, you can't really attack him right away. First you'll have to dodge his shockwave attacks whenever he punches the ground. You must jump over all of his shockwave attacks by simply pressing the :cross: button. Sometime pressing both the :cross: + (hold) :triangle: buttons will also help if you're about to land right into his shockwave attacks. Once you dodge them all he'll slam his fist and this time get stuck into the ground. Whenever this happens, climb onto the tower that you see in the middle of the field and once you're at the top. Start attacking his head until he breaks free from the ground. At this point of time you should immediately jump off the tower. He'll now start shooting a laser beam at you, which you can dodge just by simply running away from it. Once you evaded his laser beam he'll return back to the shockwave attacks, so rinse and repeat the jumping over shockwaves, the climbing of the tower to attack his head and he'll eventually be defeated.

Defeat Cameron Hodge.

Story related and cannot be missed.

Spoiler

This is near the end of Mission 5: Uncovered. You'll encounter Cameron Hodge once again, but this time he has an ungraded anti-mutant suit. Defeat Cameron Hodge and the trophy is yours.

Boss Fight - Cameron Hodge's Attacks:

  • Summoning:
    Summons Purifiers to attack you.

  • Homing Missiles:
    Standard missile attacks

  • Lock-On Crash:
Locks on to your position and crashes down in an attempt to crush you.

  • Teleportation:
    Teleports around the field.

  • Laser Beam:
A concentrated laser beam of energy is shot at you.

  • Punch:
    A standard punch attack.

Phase 1:

During this phase, Cameron Hodge will summon 3 Purifier enemies to attack you. While fighting Hodge, he'll usually fire off homing missiles into the air that flies straight towards you. You can easily dodge his attacks by pressing the :circle: button. Other than that, it's all about disabling his force field then simply attack him to inflict damage towards his health meter. Eventually he'll regenerate his force field meter.

Phase 2:

During this phase, Hodge will now start teleporting around the field. As he teleports to another side of the field he'll then shoot a laser beam at you which is easily dodged with the :circle: button. The rest of his attacks are actually the exact same as phase 1. So repeat the defeating of his Purifiers, dodging of his attacks, and continue to attack him until a short cut-scene is triggered.

Phase 3:

During this final phase of the battle, Hodge will be much slower than before and will be more aggressive with his missile attacks. He will now have a punch attack if you're too close to him, but there nothing really new here that hasn't already been said or done. Simple disable his force field and finish him off for good.

14.jpg  An Unstoppable Force (H)(B)

Defeat Magneto and Juggernaut.

Story related and cannot be missed.

Spoiler

This is near the end of Mission 6: Priorities. Once Pixie dies and Magneto blames Cyclops for the child's death, he and Juggernaut will both engage you and Cyclops in fight. Defeat both Magneto and Juggernaut and the trophy is yours.

Boss Fight - Magneto and Juggernaut's Attacks:

  • Charging:
Juggernaut will charge at you with momentum.

  • Car Toss:
Magneto will toss cars towards you.

  • Electromagnetic Pulse:
Magneto shoots a burst of electromagnetic radiation towards you.

  • Elbow Swing:
Juggernaut will swirl around and attack you with his elbow.

  • Fist Shockwave:
Juggernaut will attack the ground with his fist, creating a shockwave.

  • Debris Tossing:
Magneto will toss debris of buildings at you.

Phase 1:

During this phase you'll have to free Cyclops who's trapped in a metal cage made from debris. You'll also be fighting both Magneto and Juggernaut at the same time. Although not literally, Juggernaut will simply always charge attack you which you can easily dodge with the :circle: button, while Magneto will be tossing cars at you with his powers. Dodge those too and simply attack the cage that Cyclops is trapped in. Eventually, Magneto will move it way from you as well as attacking you with his Electromagnetic Pulse attacks that he occasionally shoots at you during the fight. The rest of the fight in this phase is the exact same thing over again, so continue dodging both of their attacks and continue to attack the cage in order to free Cyclops.

Phase 2:

During this phase of the battle, you'll be fighting Juggernaut one on one. Juggernaut is still shaken from the damage he has taken from the first phase of the battle, so his attacks are slower than before. He has a few more attacks with him now, but they are easily dodged with the :circle: button. Whenever he charges at you, he'll always stun himself which will give you a chance to attack him with your own basic combo attacks. Be careful though because when he regains his stance he'll punch the ground that will create a shockwave. Everything else is pretty much the same thing over again, so continue dodging his attacks and then attack him when he's left wide open.

Phase 3:

This is the final phase of the battle and you'll now be fighting against Magneto. This fight is a little different than before since you'll have to run toward the other end of the field to get to Magneto in order to free Cyclops. While running towards Magneto, he'll be throwing debris of buildings at you. Be very care to note where the debris is dodge-able. If he tosses a metal support beam your way just simply jump over it with the :cross: button. If he tosses a large pile of debris your way simply dodge it on either the left or right side of the debris pile by simply pressing the :circle: button. Once you made it towards the other end of the field attack the cage that Cyclops is trapped in and once Cyclops is temporarily free Magneto will fight Cyclops and will ignore you, so take advantage of the situation and attack Magneto while Cyclops is keeping him at bay. Eventually, Magneto will restore the cage that Cyclops is trapped in and will restart you back on the other end of the field. Everything else is the exact same thing over again, so continue dodging the debris, destroying the cage trapping Cyclops, and continue attacking Magneto until you've finally beaten him.

15.jpg  Logan's Run (H)(B)

Help Emma Frost turn Wolverine back to normal.

Story related and cannot be missed.

Spoiler

This is during Mission 6: Priorities. While you're searching for Pixie with the help of Caliban, you'll discover that Pixie has been taken in a helicopter. As you're walking down the path, you'll start to wonder about Wolverine and that you need to find him before he hurts somebody. When you encounter Wolverine he'll engage you in a fight since he's being mind-controlled by Reyes. Defeat Wolverine and Emma Frost will turn Wolverine back to normal, thus unlocking your trophy.

Boss Fight - Wolverine's Attacks:

  • Claw Fury:
Attacks you multiple times with his adamantium claws.

  • Claw Spin:
    Standard claw spin attack.

  • Lunge Attack:
Lunges at you with his claws.

  • Feral Sense:
    Heightened Senses.

  • Regenerative Healing:
    Regenerative healing factor.

  • Charge:
Will charge at you similar to a lunge attack.

Phase 1:

During this phase of the battle, Wolverine will simply just attack you with his claw combo attacks and will occasionally either claw spin or lunge at you. All of his attacks are easy to dodge with the :circle: button. You'll have to be quick during this fight though, since Wolverine is able to heal over time due to his incredible healing factor abilities. Once you've dodged his attacks, simply attack him with your own combos and he'll eventually jump onto a structure tower.

Phase 2:

During this phase of the battle, Wolverine will now have heightened senses and will attack you with multiple claw attacks as well as charging towards you with his claws. Again these are easy to dodge and you should have no hard time reading his movement patterns. Simply dodge his attacks and continue to attack him with your own combos.

Phase 3:

This is the final phase of the battle and Wolverine has become more aggressive than before with his attacks. He'll mainly charge and lunge towards you repeatedly this time, but once again there's nothing new to this fight. Just simply dodge his attacks and finish him off for Emma Frost to calm him down.

Continue down the path following Wolverine until you're trapped and will have to defeat a wave of 53 Purifiers. I suggest you stick by the laser fence to defeat every Purifier that comes through there. This isn't really hard at all to do since Wolverine will only fight about 1 or 2 enemies at a time and it takes him a while to even defeat them. Also, while you're fighting you'll see a new Combat Pop Up Text come up that will read: YOU'RE WINNING! This is a good indicator that you're on the right track to unlocking your trophy. Simply defeat more Purifiers than Wolverine during the fight and once it ends the trophy is yours.

For the completion trophy do you have to do the challenge missions on the same playthrough or can the be done on a different game? I'm not having the 3rd challenge pop up when I talk to Mystique. I've posted this elsewhere on the site and no one has answered. I have restart the level several times as well as rebooted. It's still not coming up in her conversation.

After Nightcrawler saves you from Magneto's attack on the Purifiers. You must simply speak with Mystique after talking with Nightcrawler at the start of Mission 3: Chinatown. While you're talking with her you should she her mission within the conversation dialogue text box. Selecting it to accept it should take you to her challenge arena for the destroying shipment crates.

As for the question about being done on the same playthrough. All challenges must be done with the same mutant in order to completely unlock them all. Other mutants you make will not share the same playthrough as your previous saved files mutant.

It's sounds crazy Blazen but I've done that. For some reason it is not coming up. Starting another playthrough. I've heard of gliches but this one has got me.

Is your faction meter in the Brothehood side? Maybe that'll affect the option appearing or not.

kfree, I believe that to get Mystique's mission to appear you do need to have sided with the Brotherhood in the previous level. Otherwise, Mystique will tell you about the mission and say she'd invite you but you're in too deep with the X-Men.

I'd suggest replaying from the previous mission, and choosing to fight alongside Quicksilver at the end. From that point just finish the level and see if Mystique lets you tag along.

And congrats on getting the guide done Blaze.

I tested your problem with her challenge mission. You have to be a Brotherhood Faction to accept her mission. Or she won't ask you to join her since you're neck deep in the X-Men camp. It's must easier if you stay consistent with either the X-Men Faction or Brotherhood Faction so you won't run into these problems. I believe her's is the only challenge mission that's actual affected by for choices in the game.

And congrats on getting the guide done Blaze.

Thanks Attack-Trik. :)

3 X-Men: Destiny Trophy Guides :francis: Good work on the guide Blaze

Thank you Setsuna, it took awhile to compose the formatting. Plus, I took yours and Technole's advice to heart from the God of War guide and have written my on Introductions for my guides from now on instead of using IGN's summary about the game. So thank you for the helpful advice. :)

Please take a look at Stargate55555's trophy guide. He has a list of the mutants in both factions. This is important as you will need to make X-Men or Brotherhood choices all through the game and unless you are very familiar with the X-Men universe, you may have difficulty knowing which choice (usually represented by name of a mutant) contributes to which faction. Please add that to this stickied guide as well.

(Technically Gambit is not Brotherhood, but the one choice you have to make in the story involving Gambit contributes to Brotherhood side of the Faction Meter.)

I plat'ed this 3 times, using different PSN accounts, different characters and different powers. Not directly trophy related, but for those who are pondering which characters/powers/etc to choose, IMHO...

Characters

#1: Adrian. He's a Purifier (hates mutants), his late father was a Purifier (you hear voices of him thru the story, "son, I am disappointed with you" type of thing). So his dialog is the most interesting.

#2: Aimi. Japanese girl, her father was a mutant, father tricked her and sent her to US, apparently for her own safety, but was it? Her dialog is somewhat different from Adrian, though the story basically plays out the same (they all do, regardless of character).

#3: Grant. The high school quarterback kind of guy. Boring. His dialogs are almost identical to Aimi, less the background story. All he does is try to flirt with the girls. (He told Emma, you look bigger in person :))

Factions

Doesn't play any differently. The story is the same regardless which faction you side with, just that you unlock some challenges that are unique to each. And in some areas you fight along side different teammates (in other areas, you fight along side mutants from both factions regardless). I would suggest playing as X-Men first, as a few lines of dialog don't make sense when playing as Brotherhood.

Power

#1: Energy Projection. This is the range weapon type of power. At the beginning it may feel weak, but once you upgraded and paired it with suitable X-genes, it's the most fun to use. Try offensive X-gene of Pyro (fire) or Surge (chain lightning, stunts enemies), really flashy and cool looking. When given the choice, I suggest picking the force field over the dive, which is just another shockwave attack. The final form of power turns you into a supernova, useful for clearing crowds but quite useless against slightly bigger enemies and bosses.

#2: Density Control. This is basically the brawler power, but more. With the final form of power, you hulk up into a rock Thing monster and bash your way through everything, including many big enemies and bosses. (I accidentally gave Aimi this power. Kinda funny to see a little girl with huge stone arms :))

#3: Shadow Matter. Lame. You get some shadow blade moves but most of the powers unlocked are basically useless (a little whirlwind that pulls small enemies to you and throw them up or slam them down without doing damage?). The final form is a shadow bird that is slow and hard to aim at enemies. The only interesting power is one where you can attack up to 12 enemies at the same time (you don't have to control or steer it, the camera just moves around very quickly showing the enemies getting hit), but even that is only useful when you arm it with additional offensive X-gene like Surge's (so at least you deal lightning damage and have a chance of chaining the lightning). (I ended up giving Grant this power. Very odd seeing a big guy doing ballet moves :))

X-gene Offensive

I like to go with some elemental damage ones, like Surge, Pyro, Iceman. The rest mostly hits harder and such. (In general, look for offensive/defensive/utility X-genes that let you upgrade 2 or 3 times. Btw, the X-genes you find in the story and challenges are rather random. Though I noticed that with different power chosen, you tend to find different sets of X-genes earlier that may complement the power.)

X-gene Defensive

I used Colossus (adds life bar, turns body to steel when hit to lower damage) or Emma Frost (when meter is half full, you turn into cool-looking diamond form, lowers damage, deflects projectile).

X-gene Utility

I would go with those that let you run/hover around quickly, like Magneto, Surge, Northstar, Quicksilver. If it adds X-meter bar or lets you trigger the special powers earlier, that's a bonus.

X-gene Suit

Makes no difference at all, just pick what looks best to you. If you equip a full suite of X-genes of the same mutant, you get an X-Mode that you can trigger, which is honestly quite useless and drains X-meter quickly. Better off mix and match the X-genes to suit your play style. (I am kinda disappointed that Emma Frost suit is not the Emma Frost suit. Won't mind seeing Aimi it in, but then again, probably won't want to see Grant wearing that :))

Verdict

I suggest playing the game at least twice (1 or 2 playthroughs each) using different characters (Adrain & Aimi) and powers (energy projection & density control), cos they play differently enough.

As you play the story, after one or two missions, take a break and do some challenges to farm XP for upgrading your powers and to gather more X-genes. You may say, the game is already easy, why bother grinding to make it even easier? Well, it's simply to upgrade and experience the superpowers at their fullest. Why else would you want to play a superhero game? :D

Many thanks to blazenarutoshippuden for the best place to farm kills.

Sentinel & Final boss were annoying and the kills trophies took a bit of grinding but not very difficult tbh, just annoying.

Would have finished quicker if cutscenes could be skipped!
