INTRODUCTION

With WRC: FIA World Rally Championship, the fans finally have a new rally game to play again. It is probably not the best game ever in its genre, but it sure is a must-have for those who loved to play rally games. And for trophy hunters, there is practicaly no skill required thanks to the braking assistance and the difficulty settings; it only takes some time so a Platinum Trophy awaits everyone with patience. This should be no problem for a rally fan.

ROAD MAP

Step 1: Miscellaneous Trophies

There are several miscellaneous trophies in this game that requires you do drive certain amounts of kilometres, perform slides and jumps, etc. These trophies are 'Crabby Style', 'High Jump On The Track', 'I Can't Drive 55', 'I'm Pretty Tired', 'Beam Me Up, Scottie', 'Green Wave' and 'Time To Change Tires'. You do not need to worry about these at all, because they all come eventually as you progress through 'Road To WRC', 'Single Player' and 'Hot Seat' modes.

Step 2: WRC Academy

The WRC Academy is basically the tutorial of the game, teaching you how to deal with certain rally surprises. Where you can play every other game mode with brake assistance enabled, only the WRC Academy disables this option, so you have to break all on your own.

The Basic Academy are 6 'challenges' that you should get on your first attempts, showing you the different surfaces of the game. The Advanced Academy requires a little more skill, but aren't hard either. If you are having trouble with some challenges, just don't focus too much on the driving/brakelines on the road. Try to take corners by feel, as this worked a lot better for me.

If you complete all the WRC Academy challenges, you should have the 'The first day of school' and 'Top grade student' trophies in your pocket.

Step 3: The Road To The WRC

After you get the basics from the Academy its time to start with the 'Road To The WRC', which basically is the career mode of the game, where you will start out as a small privateer and eventually drive the WRC season with an official team.

In this mode you will start out with a rookie test. Winning this will net you 'Champion Debut'. Afterwards you need to customize your team. Name your team 'Mr Macaco' and the hidden trophy 'Everybody Love Mr. Macaco' pops up.

Now just progress through this mode, completing every objective in every event. With the opponents difficulty turned down, you should be able to get every objective on the first run.

Be sure to buy at least 1 livery and 7 different colors along the way to net you 'Suit Up!' and 'The Road To The Rainbow'. Look up the car settings at least once before a race will get you 'Car Engineer' and after a race, select manual repair and proceed to get you 'Car-Breaker'.

Eventually you will get a lot of different trophies, including the miscellaneous ones and when you finished the Road To The WRC you should have gotten 'It's A Long Way To The Top', 'Brand New Car', 'Level Up!', 'High 5', 'Globetrotter', 'Official Driver', 'The World Is Our Stage', 'Happy Ending' and 'The Last Goal' for sure.

Step 4: Single Player

Start by driving any special stage you like in Time Attack mode and upload your ghost afterwards. This will get you 'Not Afraid Of The Ghosts' and 'The Haunted Net'.

Now select 'single stage', select '#31 Armindo Araújo (P-WRC)' as a driver and select any stage in Portugal ad win the stage. This will get you 'Finish Line' and 'The "Art" Of Winning'. Afterwards, select another single stage, but now choose '#22 Nasser Al-Attiyah (S-WRC)' and pick and win any stage in Jordania for 'Pull!'.

This time, choose 'single rally', pick '#8 Kimi Räikkönen' as the driver, select any rally you like (Spain, Finland and New Zealand are the easiest/quickest), select 6 special stages and win the rally. This way you will get 'The Power Of C4', '6 Stages Of Glory' and 'Mr. Ice Man Is On Fire' all at once. Now select a new 'single rally', pick any Ford Focus team from the WRC class you want, select a 2-stage rally and win it for the 'Focus On Victory' trophy.

Now select 'Championship', pick any WRC car you want, don't mess with the number of rallies or sequence now. If you accidentally did, just press :square: and then select 2 stages per rally and proceed to win the championship to get 'The First Step', 'Seventh Heaven', 'Around The World In 13 Rallies' and 'Awesome!'

Step 5: Hot Seat Mode

Hot Seat is basically the local multiplayer, but you can easily complete these trophies yourself with 1 controller.

Start out with a 'single rally' for 2 players. Select '#6 Henning Solberg (WRC)' for one player and '#11 Petter Solberg (WRC)' for another. Select any rally you prefer (Spain, Finland or New Zealand are the easiest/shortest), select 2 stages and make sure you'll end up 1 and 2 after the rally (which isn't hard at all) to get 'The First Stage', 'The Final Stage' and 'Brotherhood'.

Now select 'special stage', pick any stage you prefer, but this time use 4 players, pick any driver you want and proceed. Make sure you'll end up in the first 4 positions (once again, its not hard at all) and 'Poker Of Aces' is yours as well.

Now select 'Championship' for 2 players, pick an easy rally as the first rally of the season, set it to 2 stages per rally and complete it for both players to get the 'Open Season' trophy. Now quit this championship and set up a new one, once again for 2 players, pick WRC cars and use the official calendar (the default settings). You don't need to win it, so you are free to race all races yourself, but to save time, just retire from every rally you start with both players. You will end up at the bottom of the standings after the season is over but you will get the 'Season Finale' trophy after about 10 minutes.

Step 6: Online

Only one part remains, getting the 7 bronze trophies for playing online. Start of simply by joining any lobby you want will get you 'Meeting People', eventually you will start a race here and that gets you 'Online Start'. Just finish that race to obtain the 'Online Finish Line' trophy.

You always gain experience in a race, but you get more by finishing at better places. Remember you get more points for leaving more people behind you. For example: In a race with 16 people you get more points for finishing 12th then when you finish 1st in a 2-person race so you just need to keep playing online to rank up until level 20, thus getting you 'I want To Grow Up!', 'The Best In The House' and 'Neighbourhood Virtuoso' along the way.

'Online On The Line' requires you to win 5 races online. It doesn't matter if its a 2 or 16 man race. By now you should have some knowledge of the tracks and staying calm eventually will result you some wins. If you are really having problems on getting the 5 wins here, post in the Trophy Boosting Thread and the other guy can let you win 5 times in a private match.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/618/06.jpg The First Stage (B)

Complete a Special Stage in a Hot Seat - Single Rally match.

Simply finish a special stage in any selected 'Single Rally' in the Hot Seat mode. If you're doing this alone, select 2 players to speed things up. To save even more time, combine this with 'The Final Stage' and 'Brotherhood' to get 3 trophies in 1 Hot Seat - Single Rally game.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/618/07.jpg Open Season (B)

Complete the first rally of a Hot Seat - Championship match.

Start a Championship in Hot Seat mode for 2 players, then select two cars you are comfortable with (the WRC class has the fastest), now put up a rally you want to race in first place. Spain, Finland and New Zealand are the easiest and fastest rallies in the game. Then select 2 stages per rally and start racing both stages for both players (unless you have a friend play with you) and 4 stages later you will have this trophy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/618/09.jpg It's A Long Way To The Top (B)

Complete the first event of 'The Road to the WRC'.

After the rookie test in 'The Road To The WRC' you can select a small selection of events. Just complete any of them to get this trophy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/618/10.jpg Suit Up! (B)

Buy a livery in 'The Road to the WRC'.

You don't need to buy any livery to process through 'The Road To The WRC', but to get this trophy you will need to but at least one. Simply select 'Customize Livery' and buy any livery you like. You need to unlock some first by completing certain objectives, but that doesn't take long.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/618/11.jpg Brand New Car (B)

Buy a car in the Showroom in 'The Road to the WRC'

To start the first event in 'The Road To The WRC' you will have to buy a car to proceed. Just select one of the two options to proceed and get this trophy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/618/12.jpg The Road To The Rainbow (B)

In 'The Road to the WRC', buy 7 different paints for your car.

Basically the same story as 'Suit Up!'. You unlock different colors of paint by completing certain objectives. Just buy 7 of them and this trophy is yours.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/618/13.jpg Meeting People (B)

In Online mode, join a lobby created by another player.

No longer obtainable due to server shutdown.

Another very simple trophy. Just join any lobby in the Online mode to score this trophy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/618/14.jpg Online Start (B)

Begin a Special Stage in any online game mode.

No longer obtainable due to server shutdown.

After you've got 'Meeting People' you can just stay in the lobby and eventually the race will start. This trophy pops up at the end of the loading screen, before the race actually starts.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/618/15.jpg Online Finish Line (B)

Complete an Online - Single Stage match.

No longer obtainable due to server shutdown.

Just finish the race you've started for 'Online Start' and you will get another very easy trophy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/618/16.jpg Crabby Style (B)

Perform a slide of at least 30 meters (99 feet).

This is one of the earliest trophies you will get. You don't need to worry about this one at all as it comes automatically when you process through the game.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/618/17.jpg High Jump On The Track (B)

Perform a jump of at least 20 meters (66 feet).

Same story as 'Crabby Style', there are lots of bigger jumps throughout the stages and you will score this trophy without even trying.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/618/18.jpg I Can't Drive 55 (B)

Reach 210 km/h (131 mph) driving a WRC car.

Another one that will come eventually. You need to be in a WRC car and how convenient is it that these are the fastest cars in the game. The only place that has a long enough straight for this is Jordania as half of the stages feature this straight. If you don't get this and have the braking assistance enabled, just turn it off in the options menu and go full speed through this straight until you crash.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/618/19.jpg Car-Breaker (B)

Use the 'Manual Repair' option in the Car Repair Page.

At the end of a multiple stage rally, you most likely caused some damage. You have the choice of letting the CPU repair the recommended damage for you or you can select manually what you wish to repair. Most of the time you won't cause enough damage to exceed the time limit, so it doesn't make any difference what you select, but for this trophy, select everything you wish to repair manually to pop up this trophy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/618/20.jpg Car Engineer (B)

Enter the 'Car Settings' menu.

When you load any stage or rally, you can select 'Car Settings', where you can adjust car settings to your liking. Just enter this menu for this trophy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/618/21.jpg The Power Of C4 (B)

Complete a Single Player - Single Rally match in first place driving a Citroen C4.

Select 'Single Rally' from the Single Player menu, select any Citroën C4 team from the WRC class you like and win the rally to score this trophy.

Select '#8 Kimi Räikkönen' and set the amount of special stages to 6 to combine this trophy with 'Mr. Ice Man Is On Fire' and '6 Stages Of Glory'.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/618/22.jpg Focus On Victory (B)

Complete a Single Player - Single Rally match in first position using a Ford Focus.

The same story as 'The Power Of C4', just now select any Ford team from the WRC class. You can set the amount of special stages to 6 if you wish to combine this one with '6 Stages Of Glory'.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/618/23.jpg 6 Stages Of Victory (B)

Complete a Single Player - Single Rally match winning 6 Special Stages.

Simply select 'Single Rally' from the Single Player menu, set the amount of special stages to 6 and win every single stage of it. If you are having trouble winning all stages, turn down the difficulty in the options menu. On the lowest difficulty it's very easy. You can combine this one with 'The Power Of C4' and 'Mr. Ice Man Is On Fire' or 'Focus On Victory' to save time.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/618/24.jpg Seventh Heaven (B)

Complete 7 rallies in the same Single Player - Championship match.

Just finish 7 rallies in the same Championship in Single Player, winning in all of them is not required. This might be a little time consuming, and therefore I recommend to combine this one with 'Around The World In 13 Rallies' and 'Awesome!', which will also nets you 'The First Step' along the way.

Note that you have to finish 7 rallies and can't retire. In one championship I retired the 2nd rally and finished the rest, so I didn't get this trophy after the 7th rally, but after the 8th rally of the championship.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/618/25.jpg The Haunted Net (B)

Upload one of your ghosts on the online Leaderboards.

No longer obtainable due to server shutdown.

Just complete any stage in Time Attack mode and upload a ghost after you finished the race. As simple as that.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/618/26.jpg The Final Stage (B)

Complete a Hot Seat - Single Rally match.

Also a very straightforward description, just complete a Single Rally match in Hot Seat mode. Completing this will automatically grant you 'The First Stage' and you can combine this with 'Brotherhood'.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/618/27.jpg Champion Debut (B)

Complete the debut test in 'The Road to the WRC' in first position.

The first thing you do in 'The Road To The WRC' is race a rookie stage in Portugal in a Citroën C4. You need to win this stage, but it isn't hard. I got it on my first attempt. Should you have trouble with this one, you can lower the difficulty in the options menu and if you feel you are not going to win after the 4th sector time, just press :start: and select restart.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/618/28.jpg Level Up! (B)

Unlock the 2nd level of 'The Road to the WRC'.

Just complete every event in 'The Road To The WRC', where winning and unlocking objectives are very easy, especially with the assists turned on and difficulty turned down and you'll eventually unlock the next level.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/618/29.jpg Online On The Line (B)

Complete 5 valid Special Stages in first position in any online game mode.

No longer obtainable due to server shutdown.

Winning five special stages online on your own isn't difficult at all. If you attempt this after you've played a lot in 'The Road To The WRC' and 'Single Player', you should know the tricky points in the stages and when you keep calm, you'll eventually win stages. Looking for lobby's with just 1 player in it will heighten your chances of winning a race.

If you are really having trouble with this on your own, find a boosting partner in the Trophy Boosting Thread and win 5 special stages in a private match.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/618/30.jpg I Want To Grow Up (B)

Reach level 2 in your Hall of Fame Online Ranking.

No longer obtainable due to server shutdown.

You will gain experience for every race played online, based on your finish place and the amount of people in the race. You also get bonuses for every green sector (fastest sector times of the session) and if you finish first, the gap with the number 2. You also get bonuses for your position in Rally and Championships.

Remember: its more important to leave as many players as possible behind you then to finish 1st. You score more points when you finish 12th in a race with 16 people then when you win a stage with just 2 people. Just keep on playing online until you reach level 20 to also grab 'The Best In The House' and 'Neighbourhood Virtuoso' along the way.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/618/31.jpg The "Art" Of Winning (B)

Choose Armindo Araujo of the Ralliart Italy Team and win a Single Player - Single Stage in Portugal.

When you start up a 'Single Stage' in Single Player, select the P-WRC class and pick '#31 Armindo Araújo' as your driver. Then pick any stage in Portugal and win that stage. This will also net you 'Finish Line' if you haven't got it before.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/618/32.jpg I'm Pretty Tired (B)

Reach 1,000 km (621 miles) run in the offline statistic page.

Fans of race games will have probably seen this kind of trophy before. It might even get people frustrated. But there is no reason for that, as this trophy will come while progressing normally through the game. All offline modes count towards this trophy. If you want to check your progress, select 'Statistics' from the main menu, then select 'Statistics' and at the bottom of the first page it says 'Raced Distance'.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/618/33.jpg Beam Me Up, Scottie! (B)

Reach 50 used manual respawns in the offline statistic page.

The manual respawn function is another thing that makes the game even more easy. To respawn manually, just press :r1: when you spun out or bumped into any object and the car sets up on the middle of the track again. This will also come when you progress through the game. To check your progress, select 'Statistics' > 'Statistics' and look at 'Used Respawns' at the end of the 3rd page.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/618/34.jpg Green Wave (B)

Reach 40 achieved green sectors in the offline statistic page.

And another one that comes automatically when you play the game. Achieving a green sector is by driving the fastest time of that sector. On a low difficulty you basically drive green sectors all the time, so it will come very early. To check your progression, look at 'Green Sectors' on the 3rd page of the 'Statistics'.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/618/35.jpg Time To Change Tires (B)

Reach 30 completed Special Stages in any offline Game Mode, in the statistic page.

Completing special stages is what the game is about, so you will get this trophy very early in the game. You can check your progress at the very first option, 'Special Stages Raced' in the 'Statistics' page.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/618/36.jpg Pull! (B)

We have a skeet champion in S-WRC. Choose him and win a Single Player - Single Stage in Jordan.

Select Single Player > Single Stage, then choose S-WRC and pick '#22 Nasser Al Attiyah', pick any stage in Jordania and win. If you haven't got 'Finish Line' before, you will get it now as well.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/618/37.jpg Brotherhood (B)

2 Players have to complete 1st and 2nd in a Hot Seat - Single Rally match using the Solberg bros.

Select Hot Seat Mode > Single Rally > 2 Players > WRC class, then pick '#6 Henning Solberg' for one player and '#11 Petter Solberg' for the other, select any rally you prefer. Spain, Finland and New Zealand are the fastest and easiest to complete. Select 2 special stages and make sure you end up 1st and 2nd at the end of the rally, which shouldn't be hard, especially with the difficulty turned down. Getting this trophy will also net you 'The First Stage' and 'The Final Stage' if you haven't got them already.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/618/38.jpg Poker Of Aces (B)

In Hot Seat mode, 4 human players have to complete a Special Stage in the first 4 positions.

Select 'Special Stage' in the Hot Seat mode and select 4 players. Pick any stage you like, but if you want to do it quick, select 'Santa Marina 1' or 'El Priorat 2' from Spain as a stage for these are the fastest stages in the game. Just race the stage and make sure you will finish 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th to unlock this trophy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/618/39.jpg High Five (B)

Unlock the 5th level of 'The Road to the WRC'.

See 'Level Up!'

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/618/40.jpg The Best In The House (B)

Reach level 10 in your Online Ranking.

No longer obtainable due to server shutdown.

See 'I Want To Grow Up'

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/618/42.jpg Mr. Ice Man Is On Fire (B)

Complete a Single Player - Single Rally match in first position using Raikkonen.

Set up a Single Rally in Single Player to your liking and be sure to select '#8 Kimi Räikkönen' as a driver and win the rally. This will also net you 'The Power Of C4' and you can combine this with '6 Stages Of Glory'

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/618/43.jpg Globetrotter (B)

Complete at least one valid race in a Special Stage for every country in the game.

You do not need to worry about this trophy as it comes with normal progression as well as you play 'The Road To The WRC' or play a full official rally championship in Single Player. The 13 different countries are:

  • Sweden
  • Mexico
  • Jordania
  • Turkey
  • New Zealand
  • Portugal
  • Bulgaria
  • Finland
  • Germany
  • Japan
  • France
  • Spain
  • Great Britain

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/618/44.jpg Top Grade Student (S)

Successfully complete all the challenges of the WRC Academy.

Complete all 12 challenges in the 'WRC Academy'. The 6 Basic Challenges are very easy, a couple of the 6 Advanced Challenges might require a couple of restarts. But they are short races, so keep on trying and those will come as well. A good tip is not to focus much on the racing line and hints on when to brake, just ignore it and decelerate, brake and steer on your own feeling and you will be alright.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/618/45.jpg Official Driver (S)

Start an event in 'The Road to the WRC' with a WRC Team.

The official WRC teams are locked at the beginning of 'The Road To The WRC' and you can unlock them by finishing certain wildcard events and full rallies and you will unlock the smallest teams very soon. The first opportunity to drive a WRC car in this mode is the event 'Old School Style' in Level 7, where this trophy pops up at the start of this event.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/618/46.jpg The World Is Our Stage (S)

Complete at least one valid race in every Special Stage in the game.

There are 13 countries with all having 6 different special stages, so there is a total of 72 different stages. It sounds like a lot, but you'll unlock this trophy pretty soon by playing 'The Road To The WRC' or racing every stage of a full Championship in Single Player.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/618/47.jpg Around The World In 13 Rallies (S)

Complete a WRC Single Player - Championship match with the official calender.

Set up a Championship in Single Player, select any car in the WRC class and use the default settings of the championship calendar. If you happen to adjust anything here, press :square: to reset to the official calendar. Set the amount of special stages per rally to 2 and finish all 13 rallies. You basically can retire every rally from the start-menu, but I recommend you to drive every rally until you are assured of winning the championship for the 'Awesome!' trophy.

Doing this will net you 'First Step' and 'Seventh Heaven' along the way and by winning the championship, you will also be awarded 'Awesome!'

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/618/48.jpg Season Finale (S)

Complete a WRC Hot Seat - Championship match with the official calender.

Just set up a Championship in Hot Seat like I described at 'Around The World In 13 Rallies', select 2 players and start. But this time you can save a lot of time. Just start every rally of the championship, but as soon as you start a race, press :start: and retire from the rally. Also do this for the second player, rinse and repeat for the rest of the 13 rallies and you will be on the bottom of the standings at the end of the season, but you will be awarded this trophy at the end and save a lot of time.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/618/49.jpg Awesome! (G)

Complete a WRC Single Player - Championship match in first position with the official calender.

See 'Around The World In 13 Rallies'. The difference is that you need to win the official Championship for this trophy, but with the difficulty settings that should be no problem at all. You will need to drive every rally here yourself. Depending on your opponents results, you can retire from the last 2-4 rallies if you are already assured of winning the championship to save some extra time.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/618/50.jpg Happy Ending (G)

Complete the WRC Championship in first position in the 'The Road to the WRC'.

In level 10 of 'The Road To The WRC' you start a full 13 rally season of the WRC. Be on top of the standings at the end of this championship to win this trophy. If you keep winning and increasing your lead in the standings, you can retire from the last 2-4 rallies (depending on the finish position of your nearest rival) to save time.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/618/51.jpg The Last Goal (G)

Complete all the objectives and win all the events in the 'The Road to the WRC'.

Every event you enter in 'The Road To The WRC' has 3 different objectives, from finishing ahead of a certain driver to score a lot of green sectors. On the lowest difficulty you should complete all these objectives on your first attempt. If you missed a certain objective, you can always go back to that event and give it a retry. If you never missed an objective and skipped an event, this trophy comes after finishing 'The Last Battle' at the end of Level 10.

HIDDEN TROPHIES

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/618/08.jpg Everybody Loves Mr Macaco (B)

Name your team 'Mr Macaco'

Very simple and straightforward. After you complete the rookie test in 'The Road To The WRC', you will be asked to give details about your team. Simply put in the team name 'Mr Macaco', confirm and the trophy pops up. If you don't like this name, you always can change the name in 'Customise Team'. This is also the place to be if you haven't got this trophy yet, but already started 'The Road To The WRC'

As always, the Platinum Trophy is yours if you manage to get all the other trophies for this game. It isn't hard, but a Platinum Trophy shows that you put quite a lot of hours into this game. Congratulations!

No problem, I'm glad to help.

I've already wanted to do this one, but I noticed I was too late already and just gave the other guy the opportunity to wrap up his guide, then I haven't played this game for 2 weeks due to an Xbox release I was playing, then I got back, still didnt saw any improvement and with the other one closed, I grabbed my chance.

It's my first guide here, but I wrote everything according to the guidelines here, so it should be fine, but if there's anything that should be changed or if there are any questions, just say it here and I'll make sure its gonna be fine :)

After one hell of a hard time through Rally Jordan in single player with Nassir Mattiya I finished 3rd and still got the trophy. Coolness, the stage I chose was bonkers. I must have got lucky with this one.

If you have a steering wheel the default button for manual respawn is :cross:.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/618/18.jpg I Can't Drive 55 (B)

Reach 210 km/h (131 mph) driving a WRC car.

Another one that will come eventually. You need to be in a WRC car and how convenient is it that these are the fastest cars in the game. The only place that has a long enough straight for this is Jordania as half of the stages feature this straight. If you don't get this, unlikely though, with braking assistance enabled, just turn it off in the options menu and go full speed through this straight untill you crash.

This trophy is also acheivable on the long straightaway at the Rally of Germany's "Sonnenpromenade 2". The straightaway is at the end of sector 2. You can acheive speeds of over 210 km/h in a WRC class car.

I have a question, you know the haunted net trophy, do you have to be in the very top place on the leaderboard to get it? Or you can get it even you did very badly, can someone confirm this? Because I've heard people saying you have to be in the very top place to get it (from 360 forum), I'm planning of buying this game for the platinum trophy. And I wanna make sure there isn't any trophy prevent me for the plat lol since I'm not really good at racing game

The first time I did this was on an easy course in New Zealand, where you hardly can make mistakes but I wasnt paying attention at all, so I got offcourse all the time, then I didnt get the opportunity to upload one, but at some later point I drove a stage pretty clean, but nothing extraordinary fast and I got it.

Remember you can turn on all assistents in the options menu and still get this. With the assistents enabled, you can't drive the very best times, but it keeps you on the road a lot more often and its not hard at all to drive a (near) clean stage with this enabled, allowing this trophy to pop up.

Superb guide!

I got 31/51 trophies in just over 6hrs! :D

Btw, the length of this plat is all wrong...there's no way you can get plat in 35hrs only unless you win ALL your online races...it's just not possible. This is more like 45-50hrs especially with the small online community.

Can someone tell me how to play online mode? Because every time I play some game, most of people just drive like rockets... I don't know how this is even possible.

In 16 people room, almost all of them aren't making any mistakes...

Are they playing with all aids on + driving line? Because I will never belive in that they are so good...

Im playing on sterring wheel, all assists off. Im doing ok in single player with hardest AI setting. But in online my a$$ is getting kicked so much, that I don't know what's happening...

I know I won't be the best from the very begining...but hell...last place almost all the time?!

Do You have some advices?

Yeah that does get frustrating at first I put it down to just me having a bad race. But I'm sure the car loses traction or gets slower compared to other drivers when there is a sudden influx of new players in a lobby. Because even when I raced perfect, sometime there was a group of guys at least 3-6 seconds infront of me.

The good thing I found about this game is that even the top few players are human, they make mistakes aswell (albeit rarely) and are just at the top through persistence not glitching. Yes, you do get the bozos playing the same track over and over and over again just to raise rankings. I had loads of quality races with a guy called 'calberas' (sp?) he was top when I played a few weeks ago. You had to be on top of your game to beat him but it's really good practise to test yourself against the best. I found myself finishing 2nd behind him most races if not beating him.

As for driving aids I only had the braking aid switched off playing online, I don't know whether having them all off gives you an advantage.

For me, an average skilled racer, its really like that, but looking at your location I might have found the reason, it really looks like this game is only played heavily in Europe, cause I never have problems with the online community being small. Guess its only bigtime occupied in European timezones.

But nontheless, I can add that it might be affectable by timezone/online community. Thanks for the notice.

i've made this on the second spain stage

This is true and this immediately makes the platinum much more difficult.

What you need to do for this trophy: Achieve a top-10 time on one of the stages and upload that ghost to the leaderboard.

First I tried what the guide suggests: Set a laptime in time trial and upload the ghost, but the trophy didn't pop for me (got the message that my time wasn't good enough for the leaderboards).

Then I downloaded multiple top 10-ghosts from other players and tried to beat their time. This turned out to be really difficult for me, took me multiple hours, but I finally managed to beat one of those times/ghosts. Uploaded my ghost to the leaderboard and Ping!.. The Haunted Net.

Problem with this trophy is that players are still improving those leaderboard-times every day, making this trophy more difficult as time goes on. In theory this trophy could end up being more difficult als Beat Zico in WipeOut or beating the Vettel-times in GT5.

If it's possible I would add this information to the guide, to warn people for this.

Great guide by the way, really helpful!

Am I doing something wrong here? I've finally unlocked level 10 in career mode (though haven't finished all the levels up to this point), which means I've also unlocked the WRC event. Now, at this point I'm used to having to play a LOT of races every event, which, at 5 minutes each race, can force me to sit for hours. But this... this takes the cake. WRC has 70 races; just one event, I have to play 70 races... 5 minutes each, I'm looking at 5-7 hours between racing and waiting for loading, straight. The idea of sitting there, doing race after race for that long is ridiculous, I couldn't imagine a SINGLE casual player getting through it.

Do I have to calculate it so that I can retire from X amount of races and still come first at the end? Is there an invisible way to leave the event, saving my progress and continuing at another time? Do I leave the PS3 running and hope nothing goes wrong during the duration? 70 races for ONE, SINGLE EVENT is mindboggling. This cannot be real.
