Roadmap:

Introduction:

Winter Sports 2011 is the follow up to Winter Sports 2010, again from 49Games. It has improved a lot from 2010. There is also a new discipline: Snowmobile; I think it’s really cool. Now for the trophies, again they are easy like 2010, but they have added online trophies this time around, they could be tricky to get as a consequence of the dead online. Also, there is more variety to the trophies, which is also an improvement to 2010.

Platinum Difficulty Rating

Step 1: Career (Cups)

Start a new career, and first win all the cups. REMEMBER: Don’t use a wildcard! Then you’ll get Ace in the sleeve. There are only 8 cups that have specific trophies, they are:

  • Boon Cup
  • Modo Cup
  • Noctis Cup
  • Race Cup
  • Penta Cup
  • Oldschool Cup
  • Go for gold Cup
  • 49Games Cup

However, you need to win all the cups for Career Champion. Also, you need points for upgrades, and advancing in level. Purchase upgrades as you go, to improve your team, and to go towards Accessories I, Accessories II and Possessive.

Step 2: Career (Challenges)

There are 44 challenges to complete for Challenge Champion. You earn points for completing challenges, which is helpful for upgrades. Just like Step 1, purchase upgrades as you go through the challenges, to improve your team, and to go towards Accessories I, Accessories II and Possessive. I have posted videos for the difficult challenges. You have to unlock some upgrades by completing certain challenges, once all are unlocked, you should have enough points to buy them all.

Step 3: Single Player Mop Up

Mop up all the single players trophies like: Slipstream addict, You can't run but you can slide, Ruffian and Dizzy. See trophy guide.

Step 4: Online

Find a boosting partner in the Boosting Thread, then go for the online trophies: Petty theft, Turbo maniac, Sticky flag and Exact fare. See trophy guide on how to get the online trophies.

Step 5: Level 20

You should have all the trophies apart from Level 17 and Level 20 by now. So just keep winning the Boon Cup over and over again until you have enough points to reach Level 20. You get 35 points for winning all 3 disciplines and it only takes 5-10 minutes. Once you reach Level 20 you can enjoy your new (P)!

Tips:

- You can practice any discipline in training mode.

- If you can’t remember the controls for the discipline, press :start: and look at the tutorial.

- Make sure you get a perfect or good start.

- If you don’t get a gold medal on the first discipline of a cup, you may decide to cancel the cup and start it again.

  • Biathon:
    - Use your adrenaline when going up steep hills, because if you don’t you will slow down dramatically.
    - Hold your breath when you are shooting by holding :l2:, this steadies your crosshair.
    - When going downhill, hold :circle: to crouch, you go quicker and you earn adrenaline.
  • Bobsled:
    - Keep to the racing line going around corners, and you will be rewarded with extra adrenaline.
    - Use this adrenaline on the straights; and try not to hit the sides.
  • Downhill Skiing:
    - You earn adrenaline by going through the flags, but on the right side, so you don’t get a penalty.
    - Use your adrenaline on the straights, and staying in between the flags is key.
  • Figure Skating:
    - All you need to do is just hit every button, in time.
    - When double mode is available use it by pressing :r2:, it doubles your points for a short while.
  • Freeride Skiing:
    - Use ramps to do tricks, then use adrenaline in between the ramps.
    - If you have a lot of adrenaline to get to the next ramp, don’t go over the ramps. However, if you accidentally go over one push down on :r3:, because this keeps you down.
  • Shorttrack:
    - Funnily enough, you will want to stay behind until there is 3 laps to go, and don’t use any adrenaline up to this point.
    - Now use the slipstream of one of your opponents to gain the lead.
    - Once in the lead, you should have a full bar of adrenaline to use, so hold :cross: until the finish!
  • Ski Flying:
    - At the start you need to go when there is as little wind as possible.
    - At the end of the inrun, get a perfect jump by pushing up on :r3: when you are as close to the edge as possible.
    - Land by pushing down on :r3: but get as close to the ground as possible before you push down.
  • Snowboard Cross:
    - Make sure you ride in between all the flags, and perform frontloops as this is the quickest trick, and it will help towards Dizzy.
  • Snowmobile:
    - Use :l2: to go around the corners.
    - Use your adrenaline on the straights, and remember to perform tricks on the ramps.

Trophies

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/830/000.jpg (P) Icebreaker

Win all the Trophies in Winter Sports 2011.

Once you have earned the other 49 trophies, you’ll get the platinum! Congratulations.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/830/001.jpg (B) Petty theft

Steal the flag 3 times in a multiplayer match (online).

Set up a capture the flag match, and invite your partner (use the boosting thread). Then just keep stealing the flag from each other until you’ve done it 3 times each.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/830/002.jpg (B) Turbo maniac

Use 5 turbo strips in a row spending no more than 3 seconds between strips (online multiplayer).

Set up a speed contest on bobsled and the 1st track then invite your partner (use the boosting thread). Really easy, just hit the boosts, you should get it without really trying.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/830/003.jpg (B) Sticky flag

Score three times in a row (Capture the Flag, multiplayer online).

Set up a capture the flag match, and invite your partner (use the boosting thread). You need to pass 3 checkpoints whilst in possession of the flag.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/830/004.jpg (B) Exact fare

Finish a coins contest with exactly 49 coins in multiplayer (online).

Set up a coins contest and invite your partner (use the boosting thread). You need to collect 49 coins in a single discipline. Tip from Geir585858:

I did this on the Norsk Village track in freeride skiing, there will be like 70 possible coins if you use your adrenaline to boost upwards the track sometimes.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/830/005.jpg (B) Tricked out

Perform all tricks in one race at Snowmobile (single player).

You have to perform all tricks. Here is a list of the tricks:

 = No footer on saddle

:right: = Lazyboy

 = Heel clicker

:left: = On fire

:l1: + = Cordova

:l1: + :right: = Cliff hanger

:l1: + = Superman

:l1: + :left: = Helicopter

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/830/006.jpg (B) Slipstream addict

Activate and deplete 49 fully charged slipstream boosts (single player).

Cumulative total, just play the game through. You probably won’t have this trophy after your single player playthrough so set up some Short track training matches, hang back and keep slipstreaming!

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/830/007.jpg (B) You can't run but you can slide

Slide 49 times for at least 5 seconds on rails (Snowboard Cross, Freeride, single player).

Cumulative total, just play the game through. You probably won't have this trophy after playing through the single player so set up Snowboard Cross training matches on Crash Site River 1, because it has a lot of rails on.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/830/008.jpg (B) License to skill I

Perform a perfect start at Snowboard Cross, Downhill, Freeride and Snowmobile (single player).

How to get perfect starts:

Snowboard Cross - Press :r2: when the bar is full up.

Downhill Skiing - Move :l3: and :r3: down four times in rhythm, when in the middle.

Freeride Skiing - Move :l3: and :r3: down four times in rhythm, when in the middle.

Snowmobile - Press ::r2: when the bar is full up.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/830/009.jpg (B) License to skill II

Perform a perfect start at Short track, Biathlon and Bobsled (single player).

How to get perfect starts:

Short track - Quickly press :r2: and :l2: alternatively, you need to get the bar full up.

Biathlon - Press :r2: when the bar is full up.

Bobsled - Quickly press :r2: and :l2: alternatively, you need to get the bar full up. Then press :cross: four times, each when the marker is at the top of the bar, just under the bobsled.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/830/010.jpg (B) Breathless

Hit five targets in a row without holding your breath at Biathlon (single player).

This is quite hard if you do it in training so you need to do it in career, because upgrades don't come into effect in training. Your crosshair will be moving all over the place so take your time and buy the Lailaps XTND upgrade in career mode as it makes you calmer whilst shooting.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/830/011.jpg (B) Steady hand

Don't miss a single target at the shooting range in a Biathlon race (single player).

This is easier than Breathless because you are allowed to hold your breath. However you have to hit all 10 in a race. When you are about to shoot one of the targets be sure to hold your breath by holding :l2:, you will then be able to aim easier because your crosshair will be.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/830/012.jpg (B) Ruffian

Jostle your opponents 49 times (single player).

Cumulative total, just play the game through. You probably won’t have this trophy after playing through the single player. So, start short track training matches and just keep jostling your opponents using :r3:.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/830/013.jpg (B) Gentlemen

Win 10 races without jostling any opponents (single player).

Cumulative total, just play the game through. You should definitely have this trophy after your single player play through.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/830/014.jpg (B) Dizzy

Perform 49 Frontloops without crashing (single player).

Press :l1: + :right: when in the air to perform a front loop. Cumulative total, just play the game through. You probably won’t have this trophy after playing through the single player. So, just set up Snowboard Cross training matches and perform front loops over every big ramp, you can also do them on small ones if you have enough speed.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/830/015.jpg (B) Lord of the board

Perform 49 grabs without crashing at Snowboard Cross (single player).

Cumulative total, just play the game through. You should get this before you finish your single player playthrough. Here is a list of grabs in Snowboard Cross:

Double Tailgrab -

Mute - :left:

Rocket -

Tailfish - :right:

720 Grab - :l1: +

Just stick to the simple tricks though.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/830/016.jpg (B) Steady feet

Don't fall or stumble during a Figure Skating event on at least medium difficulty (single player).

Just hit every button so you perform every move, then you will not fall or stumble. Make sure it's on at least medium difficulty, it's not hard.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/830/017.jpg (B) Flawless figures

Don't miss a single move during a Figure Skating event on at least hard difficulty (single player).

Pretty self explanatory. You have to perform every move in figure skating on at least hard difficulty. Pretty easy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/830/018.jpg (B) Double trouble

Activate double mode 5 times during a Figure Skating event (single player).

Press :r2: to activate double trouble, you can only do this when you have consistently performed moves in time.

Win a race without ever getting jostled by an opponent (single player).

Really easy trophy, you will get this without trying during your single player playthrough and it will be one of the first you get.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/830/020.jpg (B) On the fly

Remain in the air for at least 3 seconds at Snowboard Cross or Alpine Skiing (single player).

At the beginning of the 3rd snowboard track, Castle Rock 1, there is a bump that leads to a wood track on the right. Boost your way over and push up on :r3: and it should work perfectly.

The guide looks pretty good, but there is some small couple of things:;)

- Estimated trophy difficulty: 4/10

- Total (breakdown): 50 (40(B), 6(S), 3(G), 1(P))

- Offline (breakdown): 46 (36(B), 6(S), 3(G), 1(P))

- Online (breakdown): 4 (4(B))

- Approximate amount of time to 100%: 17-20 hours

- Minimum number of playthroughs needed: 1

- Number of missable trophies:None

- Glitched trophies: None

- Do cheat codes disable trophies?: No cheat codes for Winter Sports 2011

I think you should add Ace in the Sleeve to missable trophies, as you will need to start all over again if you do use a wildcard.

Set up a coins contest, and invite your partner (use the boosting thread). You need to collect 49 coins in a single discipline. I think snowboard cross is the easiest to do it on. So set up a custom cup with loads of snowboard cross on it, on the 1st track. Then keep trying and you should get it, go slow.

I did this on the Norsk Village track in freeride, there will be like 70 possible coins if you use youre adrenaline to boost upwards the track sometimes. Every time I've helped guys in this game they have got iy 1st try except one, cause it was his first time ever playin this game:p

Excellent guide there mate, i just got the game recently so this is much appreciated, cheers :applause:

Thanks you guys :)
