Who Wants to be a Millionaire?

(European Version)

(me, me, me!)

Trophy Guide & Roadmap by Linkinito

Roadmap

Who Wants to be a Millionaire? is adapted from the famous gameshow present in several countries from all around the world. It features the core gameplay of the show, with the Fastest Finger Round, the 15 questions and the 3 lifelines: the Fifty/Fifty, the Phone-a-Friend and Ask The Audience. But as there's no time limit, you'll be able to use your secret lifeline at every question: Ask Google!

Overview

- Estimated trophy difficulty: 1/10

- Offline (breakdown): 12 (7 (B), 4 (S), 1 (G))

- Online (breakdown): 0

- Approximate amount of time to 100%: 1 hour

- Minimum number of playthroughs needed: 6

- Number of missable trophies: None

- Glitched trophies: None reported

- Does difficulty affect trophies?: No difficulty levels

- Do cheat codes disable trophies?: No cheat codes (as Google and Wikipedia aren't really cheats... ;) )

Step zero: Have a computer with Internet near you

This will be a requirement. You should have the internet near you while playing the game. In fact, to win the million, you'll need to answer all 15 questions correctly. However, your knowledge is surely not enough to go that far, except if your brain is the size of a big watermelon. If the first 5 to 8 questions are usually easy and can be answered without help (it really depends of your knowledge and your interests), for the rest, you'll probably not know. Instead of using the in-game lifelines, you're going to ask a close friend: Google! And, to be honest, Google and Wikipedia will bring the answer to 99.9% of the questions in the game. So this will be your key to obtaining every trophy. One hour will be required to get all the trophies, mainly because there are cinematics you can't skip. Otherwise it would take much less time!

Step one: First game - Walking away with nothing

On the first game, try to get the (B) Lightning Reactions... trophy by answering the Fastest Finger Round in less than 4 seconds. You can do it in any game, and even if you get it wrong, you'll be still able to play the 15 questions. Then, when you get the first question, use any lifeline to get (B) That's what they are there for, then walk away (with nothing) by using the green button at the top left of the screen to obtain (B) It's easy when you know....

Step two: Second game - Getting the first question wrong

Just get to the first question and answer it wrong (should be easy to find a wrong answer). You'll obtain the (B) Fall at the first post... trophy.

Step three: Third game - Winning 32,000 and walk away

Now we are going a little farther by actually getting CORRECT answers. Answer the first question right and you'll obtain (B) Breaking the Ice. Then, reach 1,000 by answering correctly the first five questions and you'll obtain (B) Not going home empty handed!. Then, continue until you reach the 11th question, worth 64,000. Then here, walk away to obtain (B) You're a brave contestant!.

Of course, if you don't know the answer or have any doubt, just use Google.

Step four: Fourth game - Winning 500,000 and walk away

Now we're going to the million! Or quite close. Just answer correctly the first 14 questions, by using your knowledge and Google of course. You'll obtain (S) The million dollar question! just after, by seeing question 15. Then, walk away to obtain (S) So Close!.

Step five: Fifth game - Getting the 15th question wrong

Same thing as step four, but this time, you'll need to answer the 15th question wrong. Just look at the right answer on Google, then choose another one. You'll obtain (S) ...and yet so far!.

Step six: Sixth game - Winning the million without using any lifeline

And now, we are really going for the million. Using the incredible knowledge of Google and Wikipedia, just answer correctly the 15 questions and take care to not use any lifeline in-game. You'll obtain (S) You're a Millionaire!! followed by (G) All too EASY!!. Yeah, really easy thanks to Google and Wikipedia. ;) If you didn't get the Fastest Finger Round trophy, try to get it in another game or by luck.

And voilà, you've got 12 new trophies and another 100% in your collection in an hour!

Trophy Guide

(B) Bronze Trophies (B)

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1203/01.jpg (B) Lightning Reactions...

Win 'Fastest Finger First' Round in under 4 seconds (single player game)

This is the hardest trophy of the game. Not even joking. It's just because you'll need to be quick, to read the question quickly, to read the answers quickly and choose them in the right order quickly. You won't have the time to ask Google! If you know the answer, then try to do it legit, a timer will show up after the question giving you what time you've done. If you're under 4 seconds, the trophy is yours.

Usually, after some games you should get one where the order can be guessed by logic, or a question that is in your hobbies and interests. If you are definitely unlucky, just try to select ABDC as quick as possible without looking at the answers and pray for it to be the right order.

Be careful, if you try to get it in a multiplayer offline game, you must get it with the first player. Otherwise, the trophy won't unlock.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1203/03.jpg (B) That's what they are there for

Use a lifeline (single player game)

You just need to use a lifeline. Just press :left: on the D-pad and you'll highlight the lifelines. There are three lifelines: Fifty-Fifty (eliminates two wrong answers), Ask the Audience (asks the question to the fictional audience and gives the percentage for each answer), and Phone-A-Friend (calls a fictional friend which will give you his thought for the answer). Just use one to get this trophy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1203/05.jpg (B) It's easy when you know...

'Walk Away' with nothing (single player game)

Simple, just walk away at the first question. To walk away, just highlight the green button above the lifeline icons. Select it and confirm to walk away.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1203/04.jpg (B) Fall at the first post...

Get the first question wrong (single player game)

Dumbest trophy ever. You'll need to answer wrong at the first and easiest question. If on television you'd be a complete moron by doing that, at least it gives you a trophy here.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1203/02.jpg (B) Breaking the Ice

Answer the first question correctly (single player game)

Very simple trophy to get. The first question is the easiest, just answer it correctly. If you don't know, use Google but I definitely don't think it's needed at this stage.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1203/06.jpg (B) Not going home empty handed!

Reach 1000 (single player game)

For this trophy, you'll need to answer the first 5 questions correctly. The answers are generally easy to find. If you have any doubt, use Google.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1203/07.jpg (B) You're a brave contestant!

Choose to 'Walk Away' between 32,000 and 250,000 (single player game)

To obtain this, you'll need to walk away at any question between 11 to 14. You'll see the money you win after each question. The questions become harder and harder as you progress, just use Google multiple times until question 11 (64,000). Just walk away at question 11 to save time, to get this trophy.

(S) Silver Trophies (S)

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1203/10.jpg (S) The million dollar question!

Get to the Million Question - Tier 15 (single player game)

This trophy WOULD be hard... If Google and Wikipedia didn't exist. As your knowledge won't be enough (probably) to reach question 15, just use Google and Wikipedia each time you don't know the answer. Once you've answered correctly to the 14th question, you'll have the opportunity to play the million question. This trophy will unlock.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1203/08.jpg (S) So Close!

Choose to 'Walk Away' with 500,000 (single player game)

As you reach question 15 (thanks to Google and Wikipedia), walk away to "win" 500,000 and get this trophy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1203/09.jpg (S) ...and yet so far!

Fail to answer the Million - dropping to 32,000 (single player game)

Same thing as the (S) So Close! trophy, but instead of walking away, just answer the question wrong. You could try to get it by luck (75% chance to get it wrong if you don't know the answer) but the best way to get this trophy is to look the answer up on Google and choosing another as your final answer.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1203/12.jpg (S) You're a Millionaire!!

Win 1,000,000 (single player game)

Same thing as the (S) So Close! (S)... and yet so far! trophies, but just answer the 15th question right to win the mighty million. As always, Google is your Friend! (And this doesn't apply ONLY to this game.)

(G) Gold Trophy (G)

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1203/11.jpg (G) All too EASY!!

Win 1,000,000 with all three lifelines remaining (single player game)

It's strongly advised to get this trophy with (S) You're a Millionaire!!. As you use Google and Wikipedia, you shouldn't have the need to use any lifeline in-game, so after answering correctly the million question, without using lifelines, this trophy should be yours.

Well, if you have 10 bucks to spend on an easy 100%, you'll get this chance on 11/23. However I wonder why it got released 1 month earlier then removed some days after. Anyway it was largely enough to get the trophies. :)

Also, the South Park question pack won't add any trophies, a dev confirmed it on Twitter. I think it will be the same thing for every question pack.

The game is back in the european store as well... does anyone knows if the trophies changed or are still the same on this guide?

The game is the same than the one that was delisted one month ago, so the list is the same. The US and EU versions are 2 different games, with different rules, HUD, questions, 3D models, etc. However the EU version has much easier trophies (no online, no time limit).

Anyway, the question packs don't add any trophies, so just stick with the base game, and don't buy the bundles as they don't add any trophy.

Just a small note, I tried to increase my chances of getting the Lightning Reactions trophy by playing with four controllers, and got the question right with player 2, but no trophy. So turns out you have to get it with the first player. Maybe you should mention this in the guide just to save people the trouble of tring it out themselves?
