White Knight Chronicles II ~ Bounty Guide

Recommended Posts

http://i83.photobucket.com/albums/j320/sunnygrg/wkc2generaltipsheader.png

  1. Bounties can be accepted at ANY Adventurer’s Guild or an online town’s General Store, provided it has one. Upon completion, they can be reported back to ANY Adventurer’s Guild or online General Store.
  2. I highly recommend you not to kill the monster, Netherwyrm, that appears in the hunt "The Annihilator" until you have farmed enough materials for your weapons. Engage it, break its tail (attack it until it drops something), and after it gives you a loot, ANY loot, run away from the fight. After enough distance has been traveled, both its HP and tail drop should reset. Repeat the process as needed.
  3. You can partake in only one bounty at a time. It also means a bounty target will only show itself when its corresponding bounty request is active.
  4. The names of some of the bounty targets in the EU and NA versions are different. However, this guide will strictly follow the NA version of the game. EU names will be listed in brackets, where applicable, for quick reference .
  5. It is recommended that you carry Mana Potions at all times, even more so for the higher leveled quests.
  6. All bounty quests except “Knight Moves” give you item rewards. “Knight Moves” rewards you with something much more awesome.
  7. Each of the bounty targets has its own unique name, and they are much stronger than your normal enemies.
  8. The suggested level section is there for a reason. Make sure you obey it.
  9. This should go without saying, but just in case… the more AC you have while transforming, the stronger your attacks will be, the more HP and MP you will possess, and the higher your overall abilities will be.
  10. Some bounties have pre-requisites. So, it is recommended that you start completing them as soon as they appear, provided that your character level is compatible with the recommended one.
  11. When traveling long distances, L1 is your best friend. Pressing it once will put you in auto-run mode. Pressing R2 and L2 will bring out the Map and Emote menu respectively.
  12. When you enter a bounty area, and the target location looks really far, consider your options. Try entering the area from the other side of the map.
  13. Targeting a large enemy’s vital parts like Head, Eyes will give you more damage bonus, but you also run the risk of enraging it, thus doubling its attack power as a result.
  14. I cannot stress this enough, but it is wise to always set your AI tactics to “Heal First.”
  15. Completing bounties and Resident Errands are great methods to raise your Guild Rank offline.
  16. While in battle, you can press :r1: + the four directions in the D-pad to change your party commands.
    • :r1: + = Command party to fight as they see fit.
    • :r1: + :right: = Command party to spread out and attack.
    • :r1: + = Command party to fall back.
    • :r1: + :left: = Command party to focus on one target.

[*]General abbreviations used in the thread:

  • EXP = Experience Points; points used to track your character’s and party’s actual level, which goes all the way up to 80 as of this writing.
  • GP = Guild Points; points used to keep track of your Guild Rank, which goes all the way up to 30 as of this writing.
  • AOE = Area of Effect; affects everybody within the indicated marker.
  • AC = Action Chips; gradually refills as you attack enemies, maximum limit being 15, and is required to use certain skills.

[*]Enemy Skill abbreviations used in the thread:

  • P = Physical attacks; VIT-stat dependant.
  • M = Magical attacks; SPR-stat dependant.
  • S = Status Inflicting attacks like Sleep, Poison, Paralysis, etc.
  • B = Buff spells; spells the enemy will use to increase its Attack Power, Magic Intelligence, Evasion Rate, Defense, etc OR spells that will heal part of its HP, or render itself invincible for a while or until a certain amount of damage is taken.
  • D = Debuff spells; which as of now, I am only listing Sovereign Roar (cancels all your stat enhancing buffs, including the effect of Lifestones), Leech (absorbs your party's HP), Feed (absorbs your party's AC), Mana Leech (absorbs ONE of your party members' MP), Energy Drain (absorbs ALL your nearby party members' MP), Ultrasonic Wave (reduces your Accuracy), Acid Net (lowers your Defense), and War Cry (lowers your Evasion) under the category.

    [*]Toto

    • Walnut Doze [P/S]
    • Bone Thwack [P]
    • Kibble Dance

Location: Balastor Plain [b-5]

Description: A pair of monsters are menacing folks on Balastor Plain, and the Guild is being flooded with requests for help. Go take out the trash!

Reward items:

  • Heal Potion x 10
  • Mana Potion x 5

Walkthrough: Popo is a Polkan, and Toto is a Kibble. They are both located in the Balastor Plains at [b–5].

You shouldn’t have too much trouble dealing with these two mobs. Watch out for their sleep attacks if you are under-leveled, and as a precaution, carry a few Reveille Herbs and/or have the Awaken skill from the Divine tree ready. Both of them are weak against Fire, and additionally, Popo is weak against Slash attacks, and Toto is weak against Strike attacks. Use that to your advantage. Focus on eliminating one enemy at a time to make the fight even easier.

Walkthrough: Time to hunt a Treant! Dorgol, a rather pale looking Treant, can be found in the Greydall Plain at [D–3].

I suggest taking the Nordia Tunnel route to save yourself some time. Enter the Tunnel through the World Map, and turn around and exit to the Greydall Plain. Bring out your best Fire weapons/spells, and combine it with Strike attacks for best results. Start by attacking its legs, and when it goes off balance, target its head. This way, you don't run the risk of enraging it.

Reward Items:

  • Chopper Crosier x 1

Walkthrough: The fiery demon, Surt, that has been harassing travelers, is a Fire Giant. To get to him quickly, head to Albana first, and enter the Lagnish Desert through the eastern exit. You will find your bounty at [G–3] surrounded by a few Red Scorpions and Jackals.

Since Fire is weak against Water, rain down the pain on him using Water based attacks. If you’re having too much problem with him, start by attacking his legs to knock him off balance and then use your combos and most powerful Water attacks to target its head. Otherwise, just aim for its head, and keep doing so (instead of attacking its belly) using your ranged fighters.

EXP Reward: 1000 EXP

Guild Point Reward: 2000 P

Reward Items:

  • Heal Potion II x 5
  • Goddess Tear II x 5
  • Heal Drop II x 5

Walkthrough: Enter Flandar Trail through the World Map, and you will see your bounty targets at [A–5] where you start the quest “Monumental Treasure.” Mabee, Yabee and Dobee are all Giant Vespids, AND they are weak against the Ice element and Thrust attacks.

Since, these three tend to group together, I suggest using AOE attacks to make quick work of them. You can transform Leonard into his Knight form, and use his conveniently named “Thrust” attack. Line up your targets so that it hits all of them. Repeat until all three are disposed of.

Bounty: Spiders, Man

Pre-Requisite: Story Progression Related

Difficulty: 2/5

Target:

  • Arachne

Skills List:

  • Arachne
    • Shockwave [P]
    • Poison Web [P/S]
    • Attack [P]
    • Thread Shell [P/S]
    • Trample [P]
    • Spawn [summon]

Location: Greede’s Underbelly [D-2]

Description: Direspiders in Greede’s Underbelly have been laying eggs like crazy, and now the area is lousy with sprog. Go there and take ‘em out!

Suggested Level: Level 20+

Guilder Reward: 600 G

EXP Reward: 1000 EXP

Guild Point Reward: 2000 P

Reward Items:

  • Ripper x 1
  • Chromium Pearl Lv. 2 x 1
  • Guardian Pearl Lv. 2 x 1

Walkthrough: Head directly to the Greede Underbelly from the World Map. Turn the lever at [F-3] to the left to open the Left Gate first. Now, go through that unlocked Gate, go down the stairs, and move the two levers located at the bottom floor. Doing so will unlock the Main Gate at [E-3]. Head back up, and turn the same lever at [F-3] to the right to open the Right Gate. Head through it, and now, it's a straight path ahead to your target at [D-2].

Arachne is a Direspider. Its weaknesses include Wind and Slash attacks. Start out by killing any and all enemies in the vicinity so that they won't interrupt you mid-battle. Attack its legs first and keep building up the damage to eventually knock it off balance. You can, then, target its head for maximum damage per hit. If you take too much time defeating Arachne, it will summon 4 Spider Sprogs to its aid. In that case, use an AOE attack to dispose of them quickly.

Target:

  • Valk

Skills List:

  • Valk
    • Lightning Bolt [M]
    • Munch [P]
    • Rend [P]
    • Behemoth Dash [P/S]
    • Thunder Tail [M]

Location: Greydall Plain [F-2]

Description: A large, unknown beast has started preying on the animals of Greydall Plain. We need a few skilled warriors to take it down.

Suggested Level: Level 25+

Guilder Reward: 750 G

EXP Reward: 1250 EXP

Guild Point Reward: 3000 P

Reward Items:

  • Silver Bow x 1
  • Chromium Pearl Lv. 3 x 1
  • Guardian Pearl Lv. 3 x 1

Walkthrough: Valk, a Megalo Tigris, is located at [F–2] in the Greydall Plain. A basic strategy when dealing with Megalo Tigris is to damage their legs enough causing them to lose balance, which leaves their most vulnerable spot, Belly, wide open. When that happens, attack it with combos and your most powerful spells, preferably attacks that have Earth attributes. Be ready to defend when it readies its Behemoth Dash as it can deal some nasty damage to anybody in its path.

Guild Point Reward: 3000 P

Reward Items:

  • Iron Tiger x 1

  • Guardian Pearl Lv. 3 x 1

Walkthrough: Come prepared, because Briareus, an extremely handsome Troll King, hits hard. You can find him at [E–6] in the Balastor Plain.

As with all other Troll Kings, watch out for his Meteor Hammer AOE attack as it can do massive damage if you are under-equipped. If you are having trouble dealing with him, don’t hesitate to bring out your Knight, and use its weakness to the Earth element to your advantage. Since Balastor Plain is infested with Vespids, Kibbles, Polkans, and Jackals, deal with them before you start engaging the Troll King.

Lulo, a Scorpion, is weak against the Wind element, and Akto, a Killer Scorpion, is weak against the Earth element. Both of them are also weak to Thrust attacks. Pick these Scorpions off one at a time by pressing :r1: + :left: if you haven’t already, and then move to the next one. It doesn’t come as easy as this.

Location: The Lagnish Desert [H-1]

Description: Desert dwellers live in fear of two massive creatures they call “wolf kings.” It’s time for the monarchs to abdicate the throne.

Suggested Level: Level 30+

Guilder Reward: 900 G

EXP Reward: 1500 EXP

Guild Point Reward: 5000 P

Reward Items:

  • Heal Potion III x 5
  • Goddess Tear III x 5
  • Heal Drop III x 5

Walkthrough: Time to dethrone a King and eradicate his Kingdom… well, two Kings actually. Garmr, a Wild Boar, and Grendel, a Jackal, have tyrannized the people for a long time and they need to be taught a lesson. To save some valuable time, head to Albana and enter the Lagnish Desert through the Eastern exit. You will, then, find these two targets at [H–1], right where you fight a Megalo Tigris in the quest “A Grave Matter.”

The single biggest problem you will encounter when dealing with these two mobs is that you will run into a bigger and much stronger enemy nearby. They can, however, be easily avoided if you hug some walls. Anyway, know that both Garmr and Grendel are weak against Thrust attacks, but Garmr is additionally weak against the Wind element, and Grendel against the Earth element. Focus on one target at a time, and this bounty shouldn’t pose too much problem.

You can now freely attack its Torso, which is weak to just about any physical attributes. Be wary of its status inflicting attacks such as Sleep Spray and Toxic Gas!

You should already know how to travel along these routes using the Giant Dandelions. You will get two options when interacting with them; travel North or South. If you travel North, it will take you to where the upper arrow is pointing, and if you choose South, it will take you to the bottom destination. For a more detailed route, after you enter Frass Chasm using the western exit of Baccea, travel South (North is fine as well) at the Dandelion at [F-7], then North at [D-7], North at [C-6], North at [C-5], North at [C-4], North at the left Dandelion at [D-3], and finally, South at the right Dandelion at [D-3]. The target itself is located at [D-4] in the map.

Odr is a Poison Greaver and it is weak to Fire. This hunt is quite similar to the one named "Don't Fear the Greaver," so use the same strategy outlined before.

Walkthrough: Head directly to the Greede Underbelly from the World Map. See the hunt "Spiders, Man" for more info on how to open the doorways in this area. After you do so, it's a straight path ahead to your target at [C-3].

Gog-Magog is a Stone Guardian, only a lot stronger than your normal ones. It is weak to Ice, and Strike attacks. Your Moon Maiden, equipped with El'Liet, has an attack called Concussion Arrow which has the Strike attribute. However, if you haven't unlocked her yet in the story mode, try the strategy outlined in the hunt "Greedy Golem." Aim for its legs first, make it stagger, and finally deal powerful attacks on its head. You don't run the risk of enraging the Guardian that way.

Walkthrough: In the Van Haven Waste, head south from the Logic Stone at [E–4] and stay underground. Exit the caves from the opening at [F-6] and you will come head to head with Lindwurm, a Wind Dragon, at [G–7].

This is your basic run-of-the-mill Dragon hunt. Lindwurm is weak to Earth elemental attacks. Start by attacking its legs, then aim for its head when it staggers, and finally hit its weakest spot, Belly, when it’s knocked off balance. You can try breaking its back instead when the dragon falls down to the ground to receive additional loots. Targeting its head while it is still standing will enrage him, which will double its attacks as a result.

    • Seed Strafe [P]
    • Feed [D]

Location: The Lost Forest [b-4]

Description: Folks are vanishing left and right in the Lost Forest, and it seems plant monsters are behind it. Time to whack some weeds!

Suggested Level: Level 40+

Guilder Reward: 1200 G

EXP Reward: 2000 EXP

Guild Point Reward: 10000 P

Reward Items:

  • Heal Potion IV x 10
  • Mana Potion IV x 5

Walkthrough: Travel to the Lost Forest, and you will find Belladonna and Delphine near the northeastern part of the map at [b–4].

These two Flowers can suck your AC and MP dry, and there is nothing you can do about that. Use the Mana Potions that I recommended you carry at all times if you ever happen to run out of MP. The best thing to do here would be to use an AOE attack, preferably Wind based since they are weak against that element. If not, just stick with the conventional “One target at a time” tactic.

Bounty: Greedy Golem

Pre-Requisite: Story Progression Related

Difficulty: 3/5

Target:

  • Yakin

Skills List:

  • Yakin
    • +Thunderstorm [M]
    • +Tempest [M]
    • Double Rocket [P/S]
    • Rocket Punch [P]
    • Arm Cyclone [P]
    • Physical Barrier
    • Material Barrier

Location: The Dogma Rift [A-8]

Description: Investigators at the Dogma Rift had some relics they excavated stolen by a golem. Retrieve the items no matter what the cost.

Suggested Level: Level 40+

Guilder Reward: 1200 G

EXP Reward: 2000 EXP

Guild Point Reward: 10000 P

Reward Items:

  • Hematite Cudgel x 1
  • Chromium Pearl Lv. 7 x 1
  • Guardian Pearl Lv. 7 x 1

Walkthrough: Head to [A–8] in the Dogma Rift to battle this greedy Golem. Yakin is a Primeval Guardian and it is strong against just about every element. You will need to stick with non-elemental Slash attacks this time. Be warned that all of its attacks (Rocket Punch, Arm Cyclone, +Tempest, and +Thunderstorm) are AOE attacks and they hit pretty hard. It is highly recommended that you fortify and Mana Barrier your party members before engaging into battle.

Start by continuously attacking both its legs, which will stagger it eventually as a result. This will not only stop the Golem from attacking you, but also give your close combat party members the opportunity to strike its Head, which is its weakest spot.

Bounty: Tall, Cold One

Pre-Requisite: Story Progression Related

Difficulty: 2/5

Target:

  • Mimir

Skills List:

  • Mimir
    • Trample [P]
    • Swipe [P]
    • Guard
    • Bludgeon [P]
    • Atlas' Hammer [P]
    • Desperate Strike [P/S]
    • Heavy Hammer [P]

Location: Flandar Trail [C-3]

Description: The Flandars are known for mild weather, but now the ice giant Mimir is calling forth blizzards. Leave him out in the cold.

Suggested Level: Level 40+

Guilder Reward: 1200 G

EXP Reward: 2000 EXP

Guild Point Reward: 10000 P

Reward Items:

  • Maneater x 1
  • Chromium Pearl Lv. 7 x 1
  • Guardian Pearl Lv. 7 x 1

Walkthrough: For a much quicker route, go to Greede from your World Map, immediately turn around, and exit to the Flandar Trail from there. Your bounty is located near [C–3]. You can’t really see it from the main map, so you will need to take a left to enter a cave in the first 3-way path you come across.

Mimir is an Elite Ice Giant; the only thing differentiating it from a normal Ice Giant is its HP and its ability to shield itself after taking a certain amount of damage, which will, in the process, reduce the damage it will receive. I recommend that you not target Mimir's vital parts (head & belly) if you are a ranged fighter. Otherwise, when it shields itself, both its attacks and defense will be doubled (its attacks will actually double as soon as it becomes enraged). When its Shield is activated, attack that with strong Fire attacks and big combos to bring it down quickly. Stick with mostly Thrust and Fire based attacks. Defend when it readies its most devastating attack, Desperate Strike.

Description: A greedy troll has been stealing ore and jewels excavated from the caverns. Defeat the beast and reclaim the treasures he hid.

Suggested Level: Level 45+

Guilder Reward: 1350 G

EXP Reward: 2250 EXP

Guild Point Reward: 20000 P

Reward Items:

  • Faerie Bow x 1
  • Chromium Pearl Lv. 8 x 1
  • Guardian Pearl Lv. 8 x 1

Walkthrough: Travel to the Bunker Lode Caverns through the World Map, and take the elevator at [C–3] to the B1 floor. You should then see your bounty, an Elite Troll, located at [b–3] on the mini-map.

Be sure to set your party tactics to “Heal First” before entering this battle. Constantly cast Fortify while engaging Pantagruel to reduce the damage of its physical attacks, mostly Earthcrusher and Atlas’ Hammer. It doesn’t hurt to defend while it uses those attacks too. Use strategies outlined in the Bounty Hunt “Tall, Cold One” for the rest of the fight, but instead of Fire attacks, inflict Earth based damage on this Troll.

    [*]Tori

    • Paralyzing Bite [P/S]
    • Web
    • Leech [D]

Location: Frass Chasm [b-4]

Description: Windwalker kids were set on by three direspiders in Frass Chasm, Kill the beasts, but beware their Paralysing Bite.

Suggested Level: Level 45+

Guilder Reward: 1350 G

EXP Reward: 2250 EXP

Guild Point Reward: 20000 P

Reward Items:

  • Elixir x 3
  • Revival Herb x 3

Walkthrough: Head to Baccea and take the western exit at [A-3] to enter Frass Chasm. This will be the most efficient way to locate your bounty unless you are already in its vicinity. You should already know how to travel along these routes using the Giant Dandelions. You will get two options when interacting with them; travel North or South. If you travel North, it will take you to where the upper arrow is pointing, and if you choose South, it will take you to the bottom destination. For a more detailed route, after you enter Frass Chasm using the western exit of Baccea, travel south at the Dandelion at [F-7], travel north at [D-7], travel north at [C-6], travel north at [C-5] and you will be in the piece of land where your bounties are located.

Eka, Dovi, and Tori are all Windspider Sprogs, and they are weak against Earth and Slash attacks. Their Paralyzing Bit attack can paralyze you, so carry a few Antiplegia Roots or use the Unbind spell with you if you keep failing the quest. Also, use Haste to counter its Web attack which lowers your speed. Those are the two attacks they will ever use. Focus on one target at a time, keep healing your party members, and this bounty will be a cinch.

Location: The Lagnish Desert [i-7]

Description: Witnesses are telling tales of a giant spider that melts weapons with an acidic body fluid. Kill it in the name of armorers everywhere.

Suggested Level: Level 45+

Guilder Reward: 1350 G

EXP Reward: 2250 EXP

Guild Point Reward: 20000 P

Reward Items:

  • Emerald Spear x 1
  • Chromium Pearl Lv. 8 x 1
  • Guardian Pearl Lv. 8 x 1

Walkthrough: The quickest way to get to Aestal, a Dire Firespider, is to head to Albana first, and then enter the Lagnish Desert through the northern exit. You will, then, find it at [i-7] towards the eastern part of the map.

Like all Direspiders, you will mostly be dealing with physical and debuffing moves. Fortify your party and dispatch all nearby enemies before engaging Aestal. Focus on its legs and head to knock it over. When it summons several Spider Sprogs, use any AOE attack, preferably Water type, to kill them quickly. Repeat the process until Aestal is killed. A Knight is recommended for this fight to make quick work of the enemies.

Guild Point Reward: 30000 P

Reward Items:

  • Chromium Pearl Lv. 8 x 1
  • Guardian Pearl Lv. 8 x 1

Walkthrough: Weald is a Dire Windspider and it is located at [G–5] in the Balastor Plain.

Fortify your party before entering the battle since you will be dealing with mostly physical attacks. I highly recommend bringing a party of Knights just to be on the safe side. Deal Earth elemental and Slash damages to speed up the hunt. Moments after you enter into battle with it, the Windspider will spawn 4 Spider Sprogs. Deal with them as soon as they spawn with AOE attacks to avoid getting your speed slowed. Focus on either the Windspider’s legs or its head to knock it over. Repeat until you dispatch your bounty.

Suggested Level: Level 50+

Guilder Reward: 1500 G

EXP Reward: 2500 EXP

Guild Point Reward: 30000 P

Reward Items:

  • Chromium Pearl Lv. 8 x 1
  • Guardian Pearl Lv. 8 x 1

Walkthrough: You will heading to the Dogma Rift, [b–5] to be precise, and fighting a Solum Wyvern this time around. Solum Wyverns are weak to the Wind Element and Slash attacks.

Focus on its legs and wings to knock it over and attack its Torso for maximum damage. When Python takes flight, switch to a ranged character or stick with close combat aerial attacks. His Ultrasonic Wave attack, which reduces your accuracy, can be particularly nasty; I’ve had instances where I would miss 3-5 attacks in a row even if my DEX was at a reasonable number. It is highly recommended that you bring a Knight to this fight, or else you are in for a very long fight.

Bounty: Immortali-tree

Pre-Requisite: Story Progression Related

    • Trample [P]

Location: The Lost Forest [F-3]

Description: A researcher obsessed with immortality seeks a 10,000-year-old tree. Find it before he kneels over from old age!

Suggested Level: Level 50+

Guilder Reward: 1500 G

EXP Reward: 2500 EXP

Guild Point Reward: 30000 P

Reward Items:

  • Paladin Shield x 1
  • Chromium Pearl Lv. 8 x 1
  • Guardian Pearl Lv. 8 x 1

Walkthrough: Find Shrieker, a High Treant, in the Lost Forest at [F-3]. This is another fun fight. Be sure to break its Head for a chance to obtain a random higher tier rare drop like Mist Crystal+ or Dew Drop+.

Treants are weak against Fire and Slash attacks. You won’t break any sweat in this fight, but if you do, bring out one of your Knights who has the Slash attack (Leonard or your own custom Incorruptus). Its Energy Drain attack can suck MPs from all your party members, so if you have a Knight out, keep its MP maintained with Mana Potions. Shrieker’s Vayu’s Breath attack has a high probability of paralyzing you, and he uses it quite often. Have Unbind as one of the skills in your command set.

Description: A vicious Wyvern that wiped out an entire platoon of Balandor soldiers is roosting on Greydall Plain. Go do what they could not!

Suggested Level: Level 55+

Guilder Reward: 1650 G

EXP Reward: 2750 EXP

Guild Point Reward: 40000 P

Reward Items:

  • Cosmic Bow x 1
  • Chromium Pearl Lv. 9 x 1
  • Guardian Pearl Lv. 9 x 1

Walkthrough: Head towards [C–3] in the Greydall Plain to fight Iris, a Ventus Wyvern. Iris is weak to Earth Elemental and Slash attacks. For these higher level quests, a Knight is highly recommended, so have at least one character who controls a Knight at full AC.

Start by dealing with any nearby enemies before engaging the Wyvern, and transform as soon as you enter the fight. When Iris takes flight, switch to your ranged party members (Bow and Mage) to deal damage or unload aerial moves onto it. Try and keep the Knight in its transformed form by using Mana Potions on it. Watch out for the Wyvern’s Thunder Breath attack as it can stagger your knight costing you valuable time, or in the worst case scenario, revert it into its human form. Break its tail for additional loots.

Location: Balandor Castle Secret Passage [C-3]

Description: Balandor men are disappearing at night. It must be the work of succubi lurking beneath the castle. Hurry and put a stop to it.

Suggested Level: Level 55+

Guilder Reward: 1650 G

EXP Reward: 2750 G

Guild Point Reward: 40000 P

Reward Items:

  • High Elixir x 1
  • Revival Salve x 3
  • Lifestone x 1

Walkthrough: The easiest way to reach these three Sirens would be to go to the Balandor Castle through the World map, and head towards the Balandor Secret Passage through the right entry, while inside the Castle. This will save you much more time and navigation headache than when you enter the Balandor Secret Passage directly through the World Map. After you get there, your bounties will be waiting at [C–3] section of the map.

You should be familiar with the basic strategy when dealing with Succubi by now; they are invulnerable to physical attacks when they have their shields up. And, since you will be fighting three of them at once, it is better to bring +Holy Light instead of its corresponding first tier move. If you do not have that unlocked yet, cast Holy Light on one of the Succubis and order your party to focus their attacks on one enemy by pressing R1 + :left:. Their shield goes up after a while, so be ready to cast Holy Light again. It is highly recommended that you bring a Knight to this fight, otherwise you run the risk of failing the quest. These Succubis have a lot of EXP and when all three of them gang up on you, it could spell trouble. Set your party tactics to “Heal First” at least for this fight.

Bounty: A Rocky Relationship

Pre-Requisite: Story Progression Related

Difficulty: 3/5

Target:

Skills List:

    • +Quake [M]
    • Munch [P]
    • Rend [P]
    • +Serpent Kiss [M]
    • Behemoth Dash [P/S]

Location: The Nordia Tunnels [b-4]

Description: A gigantic beast clad in stone dwells deep in the Nordia Tunnels. Send it packing before it eats up all the miners’ precious ore.

Suggested Level: Level 55+

Guilder Reward: 1650 G

EXP Reward: 2750 EXP

Guild Point Reward: 40000 P

Reward Items:

  • Chaos Lance x 1
  • Chromium Pearl Lv. 9 x 1
  • Guardian Pearl Lv. 9 x 1

Walkthrough: Proceed to the Nordia Tunnels and take the Elevator at [C–4] to get to the B1 floor. Then, take the Elevator at [b–4] to get to the B2 floor. You will find your bounty, a Rock Hound, as soon as you exit the elevator at [b–4].

Rock Hounds are weak to the Wind element and Slash attacks. It is highly recommended to have a Knight ready to transform at full AC. Buff up your party before entering the battle with Fortify, and Mana Barrier. Slow, fatigue and mollify the enemy if needed. The most annoying thing about this fight is that Lycaon is surrounded by several Spider Sprogs and Skeletons. However, it shouldn’t be a problem if you make use of your Knight’s AOE attacks. Lay the damage on the Rock Hound’s legs to knock it over, and when that happens, attack its most vulnerable body part, Torso. Keep at it until it goes down. The only attack, I think, you should be cautious of is its Behemoth Dash due to its ability to do massive damage to everything in its path, KO your party members, and stagger your Knight all at the same time.

Guild Point Reward: 40000 P

Reward Items:

  • Guardian Pearl Lv. 9 x 1

Walkthrough: After you get to the Nordia Tunnels through the World Map, take the elevator at [C–4] to get to the B1 floor. You will notice that you can’t take the elevator at [C–3] since it is blocked by a one-way gate. So, take the elevator at [b–5] instead to get down to the B2 floor. Head to [C–4] next, call in the elevator, and ride it back up to the B1 floor. Head to the elevator at [C–3] now and ride it to the B2 floor to finally get to your bounty, Vanagandr, a who is located at [D–2].

You will be use the same strategy employed in the bounty “A Rocky Relationship,” but instead of Wind imbued attacks, you will be inflicting Fire based spells on him. Fenrirs are still weak to Slash attacks though, as were the Rock Hounds. Bring a character who possess a Knight at full AC, start with the legs and keep at it to knock it over, and watch out for the Behemoth Dash.

Bounty: Here Comes the Judge

Pre-Requisite: Story Progression Related

Difficulty: 3/5

Target:

  • Al Hakam (Alathos)

Skills List:

  • Al Hakam (Alathos)
    • Arm Cyclone [P]
    • Rocket Punch [P]
    • +Comet [M]
    • Material Barrier
    • Physical Barrier
    • Double Rocket [P/S]

Location: Greede’s Underbelly [b-3]

Description: An underground golem claims to judge all who come before it… which usually ends in a messy splatter. Go stop this self-styled vigilante.

Suggested Level: Level 55+

Guilder Reward: 1650 G

EXP Reward: 2750 EXP

Guild Point Reward: 40000 P

Reward Items:

  • Swordmage Armor x 1
  • Swordmage Vambraces x 1
  • Swordmage Culottes x 1
  • Swordmage Boots x 1

Walkthrough: Travel to the Greede Underbelly, and head west. See quest "Spiders, Man" for more on how to open the doorways in this area. After that, go past the green elevator at [C-3], and drop down the bottom left hole at [b-2] to reach the second floor. Alternatively, you can just take the said elevator to reach Level 2. After you drop down, turn on the lever at [C-3]. You will now need to turn the three levers at [b-2] in the following order: left-most lever goes right, middle lever stays at left, and right-most lever goes right. Now, open the Main Reservoir Gate at [b-3] and be ready to fight Al Hakam, an Iron Golem.

Iron Golems are weak to Fire and Strike attributed attacks. Equip Yulie with her first bow, El'Liet (Story Related bow), and fire Concussive Arrows at its leg. After it drops on its knees, target its head, and keep doing so until it drops a loot. The whole point of attacking its legs first is to make its

feeble spot, head, accessible to your close range melee fighters, and to make it stop attacking you for a moment. Keep repeating until the Golem goes down.

If you have the Moon Maiden's second Bow, Arslese, Al Hakam will go down even faster. Spam her Flame Soul for massive damage, but watch out for her quickly depleting MP. All in all, this is a really easy bounty.

Reward Items:

  • Bai Hu Gloves x 1
  • Bai Hu Pants x 1
  • Bai Hu Shoes x 1

Walkthrough: After you enter the Redhorn Isle from the World Map, you will see Argyros, an Ancient Dragon, not so far away at [C–4].

If you have any Elemental mages in your party, switch them out because Ancient Dragons are strong against all elements. Their only weaknesses are their huge head and their belly, which gets exposed once they fall off-balance.

Other than the fact that Ancient Dragons are a lot stronger than their Elemental counterparts, you will pretty much be using the same strategy as the bounty hunt “Golden Oldie.” Break its tail and belly for additional loot. Bring your Incorruptus if you are having trouble.

    • Invisibility

Location: Balandor Castle Secret Passage [E-3]

Description: Beneath Balandor lies a secret passage where an undead king awaits. Only the bravest of heroes dare accept this request!

Suggested Level: Level 60+

Guilder Reward: 1800 G

EXP Reward: 3000 EXP

Guild Point Reward: 70000 P

Reward Items:

  • Storm Rod x 1
  • Chromium Pearl Lv. 9 x 1
  • Guardian Pearl Lv. 9 x 1

Walkthrough: Travel directly to the Balandor Secret Passage through the World Map, and you will see your bounty located at [E-3] in the jailhouse area.

Abbadon, a Wraith, is weak to Fire and Slash attacks. It possesses an attack called Invisibility, which makes it immune to all physical and magical attacks. Your only option at that moment is to cast Holy Light upon it or use Holy Water.

Ready up a character with full AC before the fight and transform as soon as you engage into battle. After you do so, control a character who has learnt the Holy Light and +Holy Light spells. Abbadon will already have its Physical Shield ability on, so cast Holy Light as soon as you can. When it uses its Invisibility spell, cast Holy Light again to bring its shields down. When it summons multiple succubi, cast +Holy Light quickly so that it affects all 4 of them because these Succubi will also resist any physical damage dealt upon them unless the shields are brought down. Either do that, or cast a powerful Fire AOE attack because Succubi are weak to them. Skeletons will spawn frequently throughout the battle, but just focus on damaging Abbadon. Your Knight's AOE attacks will deal with them without you even noticing it. Keep replenishing your Knight's Mana and health, and soon enough, you will defeat this monster. Be ready to defend when the Wraith readies a "charged" Reaper Scythe.

Guild Point Reward: 70000 P

Reward Items:

  • Ogre's Bludgeon x 1
  • Chromium Pearl Lv. 9 x 1
  • Guardian Pearl Lv. 9 x 1

Walkthrough: Aetolia is a Wyvern Rex, grandfather of all Wyverns. To reach it, travel to the Flandar Trail, and drop down the hole at [D-5].

Just like the Ancient Dragons, Wyvern Rex are strong against any and all elements (AND Strike attacks) except Slash attacks. I personally went for an overkill in this hunt and brought along three characters with their own Knights. In the end, Caesar's Knight was all I needed, and it wasn't too difficult maintaining his HP and MP.

As with all Wyverns, focus on its wings and hands to knock it over and reveal its most vulnerable spot, Torso. When it takes flight, attack its Head to bring it down. When Aotelia is enraged and is in the air, prepare to defend against its most powerful attack, Glorious Breath.

Bounty: Blasphemy!

Pre-Requisite: Story Progression Related

Difficulty: 4/5

Target:

  • Itzamna (Deiton)

Skills List:

  • Itzamna (Deiton)
    • Summon [summon]
    • +Hurricane [M]
    • Storm Canceller [M/S]
    • Limb Regeneration

Location: Frass Chasm [b-1]

Description: An ancient golem, once worshipped as a god, has appeared near Thamus Rock in Frass Chasm. The Windwalkers need us to destroy it.

Suggested Level: Level 60+

Guilder Reward: 1800 G

EXP Reward: 3000 EXP

Guild Point Reward: 70000 P

Reward Items:

  • Dark Stalker x 1
  • Chromium Pearl Lv. 9 x 1
  • Guardian Pearl Lv. 9 x 1

Walkthrough: For this one, use the similar route as in the hunt "Dire Straits." Enter Frass Chasm through the Western exit of Baccea. Travel South (North is fine too) at [F-7], North at [D-7], North at [C-6], north at [C-5], North at [C-4], North at [D-4], North at [D-3], and finally North again at the right Dandelion at [D-3] to reach the land that holds your bounty. Your bounty can then be found at [b-1].

Itzamna, a Rudra, is weak against attacks that possess the Earth and Strike attributes. It is a good idea to bring the Moon Maiden, equipped with an Arslese, to this fight. However, I recommend constantly switching between her and a Mana providing character because her AI has a habit of randomly attacking other enemies and wasting valuable Manas in the process (even if you order her to focus her attack on one enemy). Destroy the Rudra's two Summoners to stop it from summoning anymore reinforcements and to stop those summoned Sylpheeds from casting Windlash for the nth time. Its Limb Regeneration spell WILL regenerate them after a while though, so repeat if that happens. Its Storm Canceller has a high probability of KO'ing out your party and reducing their Wind Resistance.

If you don't have the Moon Maiden's second Bow yet, use her primary weapon instead, and spam her Concussion Arrow. Or, if your avatar's Knight possess a Hammer, use the Smash attack to deal maximum damage.

Location: The Lagnish Desert [F-2]

Description: A golem excavated from the Lagnish Desert ruins is wrecking everything in sight. Head there and save the researchers!

Suggested Level: Level 65+

Guilder Reward: 1950 G

EXP Reward: 3250 EXP

Guild Point Reward: 90000 P

Reward Items:

  • Demon Robe x 1
  • Demon Gloves x 1
  • Demon Culottes x 1
  • Demon Boots x 1

Walkthrough: If you enter the Lagnish Desert from any place in the map that is located to the South of it (like Flandar Trail, Greede, Van Haven Waste etc), you will be placed at the bottom left part of the map, which makes this the most convenient route to get to the hunt, which itself is located at [F-2].

The word Agni is Sanskrit in origin, and it means Fire-God in the Hindu religion. And, rightfully so; you will be fighting a being of grandiose stature who is an expert in Fire spells. Agni is weak against Ice and Strike attributed attacks. Destroy the Efreet's two Summoners to stop it from summoning anymore reinforcements or to stop those summoned Salamanders from casting Flame Lance for the nth time.

If your avatar's Knight possess a Hammer, use the Smash attack for maximum damage.

Suggested Level: Level 65+

Guilder Reward: 1950 G

EXP Reward: 3250 EXP

Guild Point Reward: 90000 P

Reward Items:

  • Mirage Armor x 1
  • Mirage Gauntlets x 1
  • Mirage Faulds x 1
  • Mirage Sabatons x 1

Walkthrough: Unlike other hunts with multiple bounty targets, you won’t be fighting these two at the same time, and praise be to Yevon for that. I highly suggest completing the quest “Knight Moves” to get your own Incorruptus before even attempting this one. This quest is difficult, and you will need a good strategy to defeat these two Wyverns. A quick thing to note is that since you cannot control your party’s behavior, don’t worry about enraging these two beasts. Also, do not engage these two enemies without having a full AC on all your characters.

Navigate to [E–5] through the Lost Forest to reach your first target, Procnix, an Ignis Wyvern. Procnix is weak to Slash and Ice based attacks. Transform as soon as you enter the fight, but control any other character but the Knight. Do not worry about other enemies in the vicinity besides the Wyvern, since they won’t do you much damage. If they do, you shouldn’t even be attempting this quest. Your Knight’s AOE attacks will dispose of them soon enough anyway. Support your big friend with Healing and Mana providing spells. The Ignis Wyvern mostly won’t target anybody besides the Knight, but when it launches itself in the air, don’t get too close to it due to its Cyclone AOE attack. Target its head when it launches itself in the air to bring it down. Mana Barrier, Fortify, Slow, Fatigue and Mollify as you see fit. My Knight with full Elder gear was taking 450 damage from its enraged form’s charged Flame Breath attack, so start healing as soon as you take one of those.

After dealing with Procnix, save at the nearest Logic Stone and head to [C–3] to fight Haernix. Apply similar strategy except in this case, use Fire instead of Ice element in addition to Slash attacks to deal with Haernix, a Glacies Wyvern.

Alternatively, you can equip Yulie’s Moon Maiden with her second Bow, Arslese, and use her Gacier Soul and Flame Soul on Procnix and Haernix respectively. However, be sure to bring a lot of Mana Potions.

Bounty: The Annihilator

Pre-Requisite: Completion of Bounties "Blasphemy!," and "Staring into the Abyss"

Difficulty: 5/5

Target:

  • Hades (Haltus)

Skills List:

  • Hades (Haltus)
    • Hades Lance (Haltus Lance) [M]
    • Wyverstorm [P]
    • Sovereign Roar [D]
    • Crunch [P]
    • Rend [P]
    • Dark Inferno [M/S]
    • Thunder Breath [M/S]
    • Tail Strike [P]
    • Ice Breath [M/S]

Location: Greede's Underbelly [C-5]

Description: An ancient creature known only as the "annihilator" is back to destroy us all. You must save everyone from this menace.

Suggested level: Level 70+

Guilder Reward: 2100 G

EXP Reward: 3500 EXP

Guild Point Reward: 120000 P

Reward Items:

  • Shadow Armor x 1
  • Shadow Gauntlets x 1
  • Shadow Cuisses x 1
  • Shadow Sollerets x 1

Walkthrough: In the Greede Underbelly's first Level, you will need to make your way to the two left holes at [b-2]. If you have done the quest "Only Game in Town" before, you will know exactly which Drainage I am talking about. This is a two-step process to open the gateway to your bounty at the 3rd Level of the Underbelly. You can reach the Drainage by using the same process underlined in the hunt "Spiders, Man," or by entering the Greede Underbelly through the Merchant Quarters (which is actually a much easier alternative).

First, drop down the top left Drainage at [b-2], and you will end up at the same position in the map but on the second level. Head towards the Octagonal room at [b-1] and turn on the lever after getting rid of all the enemies there. Then, take the elevator at [C-3] back up to Level 1, and drop down the bottom left Drainage this time. You can opt to drop down the bottom RIGHT Drainage instead to shave off a few seconds. After dropping down, turn on the Reservoir Gate Control Release in the small rectangular room at [C-3], and turn the three levers at [b-2] to the Right, Left, and Right respectively starting from the left one. Now, turn on the lever in the Octagonal room at [b-3], and work your way back to the elevator at [C-3] and head to Level 3.

Now, this is important. Before heading on, use the Emergency Gate Controls at [C-3], next to a Teleport Rift (which will appear if you have completed the bounty "Knight Moves") to "Unlock the Main Lever." Now, head on ahead to the left section in the [C-4] area of the map, and move the two levers to open the left door. After doing so, move the two Main Reservoir levers at [b-3] and [b-4]. Repeat this process for the right section. You are now ready to face your bounty. Bring in a good party to fight this Netherwyrm. If you haven't already, read the second pointer in the General Tips section before finishing off this monster.

Bounty: Destruction Incarnate

Pre-Requisite: Completion of Bounties "Shimmering Wings," and "The King and You"

Difficulty: 5/5

Target:

  • Falak

Skills List:

  • Falak
    • Wing Thrash [P]
    • Stygian Breath [M/S]
    • Ultrasonic Wave [D]
    • Bite [P]
    • Iron Tail [P]
    • Cyclone [P]

Location: Redhorn Isle [H-5]

Description: The terrible legend of "destruction incarnate" has proven true! Stop the unholy beast before it destroys our entire world!

Suggested level: Level 70+

Guilder Reward: 2100 G

EXP Reward: 3500 EXP

Guild Point Reward: 120000 P

Reward Items:

  • Hellion Mail x 1
  • Hellion Fists x 1
  • Hellion Trousers x 1
  • Hellion Boots x 1

Walkthrough: You will need to navigate quite a lot through the terrain to reach this bounty after you enter the Redhorn Isle through the World Map, but you should be familiar with this route. Unfortunately, you cannot hunt this bounty until you've beaten the story mode. Falak, a Wyvern Regina, is located at [H-5] to be more precise.

I advise you to bring along Weapon Repair items in this journey, because it is moderately likely that you will break your weapons and/or armors along the way. Wyvern Reginas are strong against all elements, so switch out your elemental mages and have non-elemental weapons on standby. They are quite similar to other Wyverns in terms of how you fight them, except for the fact they hit a lot harder. See "Eviction Notice," and "A Wyvern Concern" for more info. An Incorruptus equipped with good armors and in possession of a good Sword will make this one go a lot faster. Remember to set your party tactics to "Heal First."

Skills List:

  • Ark Incorruptus
    • Thrust [P]
    • Strong Slash [P]
    • Knightly Majesty [D]
    • Healer Soul
    • Slash [P]

Location: Dogma Rift

Description: A black hole has appeared in the Dogma Rift, and some claim to have seen an Incorruptus inside it… will you investigate?

Suggested level: Level 55+

Guilder Reward: 1650 G

EXP Reward: 2750 EXP

Guild Point Reward: 40000 P

Reward Items: None

Walkthrough: Travel to the Dogma Rift through the World Map, and head towards the Purple Teleport Rift located in the upper part of the map at [b–3]. Please note that you cannot interact with these rifts when you or any of your allies are being targeted by wild mobs. After you take the rift to another world, head west on the first two platforms, and then travel south on the third one to reach the Ark Incorruptus.

Since this Ark Incorruptus is a Sword Incorruptus, it will be weak against Thrust attacks. Use Caesar’s Knight to bring it down quickly. When it uses its “Knight Majesty” attack (which can barely be avoided if you stay out of its range), all your physical attacks will be halved. When that happens, attack it with elemental magic. After you defeat it, report back to claim your loot.

For an extra special bonus, after you have reported the bounty as completed, travel to The Kingdom of Balandor and head inside the Balandor Castle. Speak with Framboise at [C – 3] to claim your very own Knight’s Ark. Verto!

Sounds good. Two things though.

Tip #12: This is a false rumour. The only way the AI will get more intelligent, is to take the skills out of their Action Bar, preventing them to use wrong skills. What i mean is. If you are fighting a Cerberus. Equip a water-enhanced weapon on your NPCs and only have Slash attacks on the bar, or water magic.

Tip #17: Max Level is 80 as of now speaking. Unless you either, 1) are a hacker, or 2) play the JP version which has gotten a new patch a few weeks ago.

But then you'd also be able to get to GR40. I really doubt we'll even see the patch.

The problem with that is my Eldore is a mage and I don't have any staff skills in his Action Bar except mana Parasite, the different seekers and Magic boost. But I still see him using Staff Strike from time to time, which is kinda freaky.

That was my bad; got carried away.

Yeah, a friend of mine reported that too. If i solo ogit3 i put that Tier4 Wind Spell into the bar and set the NPCs to go all out. They never use Staff Strike. Maybe they'll use it if they go out of mp? Gotta check that out soon. The golem never survives that long! ;)

edit: btw, you're still missing the 2 Lvl 70-Bounties ;)

It is recommended that players NOT complete the level 70 bounty Annihilator.

You can repeatedly farm Netherwyrm+ parts from this quest which cannot be easily farmed through other means. Netherwyrm Skull+ to be specific.

You can break the wyrm's tail to get drops (don't kill it), then run away. If you run away far enough, the wyrm will reset to keep dropping stuff.

To be honest I haven't made it this far to confirm, but this information appears on many wkc2 forums.

Of course once you have all the wyrm parts you need, you can finish this bounty.

Same thing for LV70 bounty Wyvern Regina for black wyvern crystals.

I've tried that, and it works. ;) I'd rather do Rise of your Grave 1 or Dragon the Line 1 though, i've been more lucky with those.

Yes, completely agree. I say just kill the bounties and not worry about the rinse/repeat method. Your chances for Netherwym drops is way better in quests like Rise from your Grave and Dragon the Line. The box is generally filled like this:

Actually, seeing as how both of those quests are GR20 and you will need quite a few Netherwyrm parts to unlock the Heretic Bow, it is a wise choice to farm a few parts from this monster before moving on. Heretic Bow is the best weapon of choice for Bow users at GR19, and you will probably not even look back at it when you reach the next rank.

He was talking about the more rares like Heart+ and Skull+, its not even worth the farming for no EXP/GR.

Also Heretic's Bow is Level 75, the GR19 level cap. Plus one should not sweat getting an uncommon drop like Netherworm Horn+ for it. Even then if you made it you need Crab-Demon Heart+ to upgrade which is also available at GR20 Support the Troops quest or farming in the rift if one is so inclined. Level 70 Apollo/Artemis sets at GR19 will be the optimal situation with the cap restriction. As making and upgrading the Level 75 Heretic/Massive bows becomes realistic immediately at GR20.

Oh yeah... it seems to me, that the Heart+ is more of a common drop as the horn+. 4 runs Rise from your grave, 1 run Dragon the Line and a few (5 i think) tail drops from the bounty and i got 7 hearts+ and 5 horns+ in total. 1 Skull+ too.

Maybe it's just my luck, or maybe the droprate is higher because you need it to bind Mana Potion IV.
