This game has some pretty simple sounding trophies but when you get down to it, some of them are outright ridiculous in practice.

Without any sort of guide or instruction, getting all 28 endings (the number includes the different credit rolls) will be incredibly difficult. Not to mention that "Samurai 4Ever!" is undoubtedly like WotS 1 and 2 where you need to follow a specific guideline in both story and game engine that's never laid out to acquire.

Each of the weapon stance trophies have a plethora of moves to master, some of which are unique to certain rare weapons meaning if you don't know which character holds which weapon you'll be guessing. Time consuming and a bit random at times, it's annoying. Some niche weapon sets like Dual Swords, Bare Hands, and Ninja Swords have small lists but when you get to common ones like Middle Stance or Draw you're getting into the hundreds of moves required. Theoretically, you could buy the special scrolls required to learn a random move from the certain sets but these cost an exhorbiant amount of money (anywhere from 800 to 2000 yen a piece) meaning entire sets bought this way could cost upwards of 80-120k yen! Seeing how the common "end game" payout for jobs is roughly 600 yen (and the best payout is 1000) this method is simply impractical.

Power of 100 is probably the most ridiculous trophy of the whole game, it's essentially a combination of Final Fantasy 10's "Lightning Strike" mini-game and a time trial. You have very limited options to ever get a chance at the trophy and messing up even once on the Glimpse of Death instant-kill (press 1 of 4 buttons in a second) you'll have to start over at 1. You also have to keep the flow going, so if you stop for five or six seconds the chain ends, putting you back at 1.

The trophy for completing the game on Finishing Blow is pretty out there as well, the game does not consider leaving Amana to be an "ending" meaning the player must progress through the entirety of the game without ever being hit (or in the possession of an insane amount of expensive "If HP reaches 0, refill automatically" items). Constantly saving is key.

Aside from these though, a lot of them are simply time-sinks. Just keep beating the game to get Samurai Points and the SP/outfit/head trophies will come. Stuff like Weapon Specialist/Collector simply require the effort to master and collect weapons.

I gave it a 6, there's no online trophies to bother people but the small amount of awkward, time-consuming, and outright ridiculous trophies that the game demands can be a little extreme. Especially without a guide.

I have been waiting for this game to come out i loved the other two cant wait to play it:D

This one's easily the best in the series, I'm sure you'll find it to be worth the wait.

As far as the difficulty is concerned, I'm going to need more time with it... I have no idea how people are voting before they even know what the Secret Trophies are.

I've already gotten the secret Trophies and they're for getting True Ending and the 120% Samurai Rating.

edit: huh, didn't notice there were three Secrets. I'll get to work on that one.

edit 2: oh it totally escaped me! Secret Trophy 3 is for completing the game on Finishing Blow mode. That should be simple enough with an ending path that has zero fights.

Gotcha, I guess I was just surprised you'd gotten so far into it already. I searched all over creation for mine and still only received it yesterday. No regrets, though... if I had gotten it on the 13th, I wouldn't have picked up Demon's Souls to hold me over. What a great game, for the record.

This definitely isn't going to be a quick platinum, I can say that much.

This game has a serious Demon's Souls Trophy vibe where the most difficult ones are the really simple sounding ones. The <x> Mastery Skills are essentially telling you "Find every unique sword and master them so you know all 759 unique moves."

I'm finding it harder to do these Skill Tree Mastery trophies than the trophies for getting the endings! Reminds me of the hell of Demon's Souls weapon trophies.

Yeah, after spending some time with the game, I'm seeing that many of these trophies are going to take a damned long time -- between finding all of the endings, mastering all of the skills (read: Yen farming) and a few other tricky ones.

There's a few tricks to make it easier though -- like killing Genjuro, which automatically makes you head of Oaku clan, after which point you can shake the job broker down once a day for 1000 Yen. It'll still take forever and a day to earn enough Yen to buy skill scrolls for all of the weapons, but it'll ease the burden a bit, and is a lot better than finding Misae's underwear a hundred billion times.

Not sure how Instant Kill difficulty's going to work out... it depends on whether or not I can find an Ending with a minimal amount of battles in it... and getting 100 Chain Kills in a row will probably take a small miracle too.

EDIT: Instant Kill was a breeze, actually... turns out you can kill THEM instantly also, which is nice -- you just need to avoid getting surrounded and, of course, be the first to strike. Note that difficulty trophies do NOT stack, apparently, as I hadn't finished it on Hard and Instant Kill didn't unlock the Hard trophy.

EDIT #2: The chain kills are made a great deal easier by pausing after you hear the "ching" sound that accompanies the "Glimpse of Death" -- you get more than enough time to see the button you need to push. At that point, just unpause and hammer on it.

Gave it a 7, due to the 'Power of 100' trophy. That took about 7+ frustrating hours to complete. Without that trophy it would be about a 5. Sword farming took a while, but was never all that boring as the requirements for them were varied.

My final game save was 68 hours and change, and I probably spent another 15-20 hours beyond that which were lost due to resets while farming, etc. So 85-90 hours for me, though it would have been a lot longer were it not for jqtaxpayer's guides.

pretty challenging plat very time consuming and a lot of the trophies will require a detailed walk through to find all the necessary weapons for the stance trophies. The 100 kill trophy was difficult as well and took me a few hours on that alone. overall though its a very fun game and a very rewarding platinum it took me just under 60 hours to plat but there was a lot of gameplay that didnt get added to the game clock due to deaths on IK mode or constant load and restart trying to get specific weapons.

By the way I gave it a 7

Beat this awhile ago but just got around to voting. I voted 7, but to be perfectly honest I'm not exactly sure how to rate this. Game is very confusing at first. If it weren't for jqtaxpayers guide this game would be a 10 just because of the vagueness of the game. With the guide there is nothing about this game that is really difficult.

Power of 100 isn't bad if you just pause before each attack. Some characters are difficult on hard but just stock up on healing items. Worst part was farming swords. Even after you got all of them it was like another 10-15 hours to buy scrolls and the damn thief at the road kept stealing my money. My total play time was about 80hours

I had to give it a 4, other then puttin 85 hours (all of which I had a blast with), none of the trophies were hard at all. Follow the guide and you will get this headache free. Also, once I watched a youtube video on how to do instant kills, I got 100 in a row on my first try. (G)

Been a huge fan of the WotS series since the first and I have just gotten WotS4 aswell...

The game itself isn't all that hard. But extremely unlucky people like myself will have trouble with some of the chance weapon drops. Also the instant kill 100 people was hard to find an area/event where there even were that many.

It will have to be a 5 out of 10 from me, because it can be time consuming.

To whoever you are reading this, deciding whether or not to go after the platinum: Good God DONT! Avoid this horrendous piece of shit at all cost! It took me over 6 YEARS to finally platinum and I hated every second of this mind numbing, mind boggling tedious, atrocious abomination! DO NOT PLAY THIS GAME! STAY FAR, FAR AWAY. You've been warned and you're seriously going to regret it if you don't heed my advise. AVOID.

I almost gave this pile of shit a 10/10 because it was truly fucking UNBEARABLE but in the end I decided on a solid 8/10. Fuck this game and the developers who made it!
