Noid
Do you visit this site you're on right now ever? Do you have a monitor that's not a CRT your grandparents passed down to you? Is that monitor a fancy-pants new age WIDESCREEN? Then you need PSTui! Chrome Link: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/pstui/jlcondmchoahedepldkfpkafcepeblnp FireFox Link: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/pstui/ (shout out to Slamma for porting the extension to FF!) I have created a Google Chrome extension for your browser to render this very site in a whole new way, and I need you (yes, YOU!) to help me out! I came into this with a modest goal: Display PlaystationTrophies.org in a more modern, widescreen befitting manner. I feel I have done that, and it is now ready for people to start using it, and giving feedback, so that it can be improved further! The extension I've created is easy to install straight from the Google Chrome Play Store, and is compatible with Google Chrome for desktop, regardless of your OS. You can find the extension here: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/pstui/jlcondmchoahedepldkfpkafcepeblnp All you have to do is add it to your browser, and POOF! The site will be rendered in a whole new way! Right now it's just a few simple changes, but I think you'll find that it will be noticeably different straight away! If you don't like the way it looks, you can disable it easily via Tools > Extensions in your browser. Here's what I need from you: Feedback! I need to know what people like, or don't like, about the extension, and any ideas for further customisations to the site. I'd appreciate if you could let me know here, or rate the extension and/or leave feedback there. Thanks! Once again, the link is: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/pstui/jlcondmchoahedepldkfpkafcepeblnp Edited April 26, 2019 by Noid
Ryukori
Nice job Noid! I'm going to check it out right now and I'll let you know how it goes. EDIT: So I just downloaded the extension, and as soon as it was installed, I scrolled up on this page, and everything was shifted to the left. http://i.imgur.com/F4tuiw2.png Edited May 17, 2014 by Ryukori

You may need to do a refresh. It looks like you're seeing a minor bug where the footer extends past 100% of the screen. If you have a mouse wheel that can scroll horizontally, then for now just scroll left. This bug is in my log to fix. Thanks, I look forward to more feedback! I'm on my laptop right now and using a touchpad, so I can't confirm anything about horizontally scrolling with a mouse wheel.
Keyser Soze
Definitely worth checking out. I downloaded it this afternoon and think it looks great. Love having it full screen while keeping text the same size and having the nav bar always at the top is really convenient.
Ryukori
I found a few minor problems, but before I get to them, I'm supposed to be assuming this was made for the current "Main" site theme, right? If I use the "PS3T-Old" theme, everything looks like it was before. However, if I switch to the "PS3T" theme, then the forum looks like this: http://i.imgur.com/Qbci9gh.png http://i.imgur.com/egYCNlb.png

Thanks for letting me know about those quirks - I'll look into them. Maybe I can fix the issues easily. For now though, please continue to use the new, "Main" theme. Being that the site itself doesn't continue to update the old themes, and this is meant to be a modernizer, only the most up-to-date version of the site will be supported fully. mullinavat
Works fine for me, a but jarring at first for the site to work differently Not sure which I prefer Good work though

Noid
Thanks for all the positive feedback! Does anyone have any requests for future features? Anything seems off to you? Or is it fine just the way it is? Thanks again everyone!

mjc0961
Do you visit this site you're on right now ever? No. BYE Any chance of showing Firefox some love? Although honestly I might as well switch to Chrome since Firefox's newest update consisted of "lol it looks like chrome now" Edited May 18, 2014 by mjc0961
Llama
Sweet, works great! Only request I'd have would be to adapt it to the other themes. I had the same problem as Ryukori and was confused at first due to using the "PS3T" theme. Was definitely worth the switch back to Main though
KirbySeph
I have an idea, but I'm not too sure how if it would be a good one. On the top of the page you have home, news, trophies etc which follow you pretty much everywhere. If you get your mouse over the 'trophies' and 'guides' you get a little drop down menu with more options to help you find stuff quicker. I was thinking maybe you could make a similar thing for 'Forums', and bring this tab to the drop down thing, or at least the important stuff such as new posts, user CP, and search. http://i.imgur.com/JgnCdFN.png

Unfortunately the site's built using a forum template which primarily uses tables and inline css, so targeting specific things can be pretty tough to do across the board. Those items don't have IDs for classes at all! I'll continue looking into it though - there are ways I can further manipulate the site via Javascript, by tearing bits of it apart and rebuilding them. That will take some time to set up, but I'd definitely like to do so! Thanks again!
prozendaal
Wow! I really like it! Cheers Noid! Great work! (Cause I sure as hell don't know how to do this web development stuff ) One thing I've noticed, and not sure if it's a problem (cause it doesn't bug me, but might bug others who are more aesthetically-minded) is the s in Forums is chopped off by the search box. But once again, solid work! Edit: another thing I've noticed is that if you use the arrow button in the quote thingy to jump to the post that was quoted, it brings up this grey little box hovering. Only when you run your mouse over where it should say Home News Trophies Guides, etc. does it bring the entire grey box back up. Also, do you have the browser maximized, or open in a window? 1280x800 (I believe that's just your standard Macbook Pro 13 inch right?) And I don't have it maximised. About 3/4 of the available screen. I just tried this and it happened the first time I clicked on the arrow, but after a dozen tries I couldn't make it happen a second time. This is the same for me as well. The problem disappeared overnight and hasn't returned since. Plus there is a gap between Forums and the search bar. You fixed those minor problems now? KirbySeph
Here's another idea, would it be possible to get rid of this xbox avatar guy, or replace it with your current avatar? http://i.imgur.com/FtaGb4a.png And since this extension makes the posts a bit wider, would it be possible to make avatars bigger? Gage
And since this extension makes the posts a bit wider, would it be possible to make avatars bigger? You can't really make the avatars bigger without shitting on the quality, since they already display as full size anyway.
Noid
Unfortunately I can't replace that avatar with your current avatar, as that info's not really available on every page. Because of how the site is built, all of my CSS statements have to be kind of catch-alls, so some things can be pretty rough to figure out. I CAN make the little xbox avatar go away, however, if you guys would like. UPDATE! Thanks to your guys' feedback, I've made a few changes! I've added the secondary main navigation to the fixed nav at the top, for easier browsing of all the popular sections of the site (including my personal favorite - New Posts!). I've also completely removed the "login" section, where the faceless avatar was, as all of the buttons held within are accessible elsewhere on the nav, making it a pretty superfluous and unnecessary feature of the site (in my mind). If you disagree with that bit, please let me know why and I'll see what I can do! Any further feedback and suggestions are greatly appreciated! I started this up because I wanted to see a change, and it looks like you do, too, so feel free to let me know your thoughts! The update should automatically install itself once it goes live on the Google Play store within the hour. If you don't see the update after 2 hours from this post, try closing and reopening your browser! Thanks again for the support!
