Uncharted: Fight for Fortune

How do you play this thing?

I've never played card games before so I'm going to blame my inability to beat Drake on that and not my stupidity, so does anyone have any tips on how to play this game successfully?

I think I understand the premise of the Faction, Fortune, and Resource cards but Drake always seem to be able to get +8 hits on me and I hit him for +2s and +3s. I can only imagine if I ever get passed Drake through sheer luck, I'll get my ass handed to me by the next guy.

Oh c'mon. Game isn't hard that much. Tho every star is raising difficulty a little.

In the next games You will sometimes have to fight enemies which have at start a character with attack 12 on table and HP 75. Those are epic and very strategic fights.

Like the Dante one. Here's the last turn.

Took me a while to get the right 'cannon fodder' placement to have this one last hp to win.

I like the fights in which you have to gather fixed amount (50-100) of Fortune.

Last 'boss' is great. You will see :D You will laugh :D

Well, I just took on Drake now and his first match wasn't even all that bad in the end. But now, up against Elena I think it is and for now, just going to work my way through everyone else one by one...then go back to them for the cards and what have you XD

But now, I can't wait until the real boss battles pick up in this game XD

It's sometimes based on luck.

For example I've got this enemy with 7hp (+3 from the cover) in the beginning and started the fight with the Fortune card which deals him 8 damage (powerful babe). And in the next round I've put Eddy Raja which deals him 2 damages.

Effect? +46 of Fortune for me :D And I didn't even attacked once :D

This game is really good. And I didn't expect anything.

A little tip for Mac fight.

First check your resources. If you have one Bank 1 Fortune Card that's great.

Then put the Rika Raja if you have it. You will get +1 for all factions.

Place it anywhere (she will die instantly nonetheless).

Give her a Fortune card (let's hope it is worth a lot) and use the bank card (drag it to your avatar).

Then You will get 3 hits from Mac. That's why it is very good to put one card that will give you the best things on start.

After that just do whatever to bank Fortune as fast as you can. Gabriel Roman with good defense is great. You can even 'buy' him a cover cause it will pay back really fast.

------------------------------

Damn, any ideas for Guerro stars 2 and above?!

Oh my, I guess the toughest fight in the game. Without good cards there is no way to win.

And quick edit. Piece of cake :D

Sorry You have to cheat a little...

Starting cards. You HAVE TO HAVE:

Two cards which gives You +1 for ALL factions (or at least Hero+Villains).

One Skeleton from Villains fraction. Second Skeleton from the Heroes faction would be great but it is not necessary!

Crucial is the one from Villains cause You've got only two rounds to get 5 faction points (and that makes 10 needed).

http://img835.imageshack.us/img835/1548/20121208163034.jpg

If you don't have them, sorry restart the match. I couldn't find any other way to win this.

Step by step screens :)

First turn.

First +1 Factions in one of the corners.

http://img689.imageshack.us/img689/2906/20121208163142.jpg

Second turn.

Second +1 Factions in the second corner

http://img213.imageshack.us/img213/8783/20121208163244.jpg

Third turn. You will have now 10 points in the Villains faction.

Put Skeletonin front of Guerro.

http://img690.imageshack.us/img690/4950/20121208163613.jpg

After this turn there are two options.

1) You will kill him (if you could use any direct hit resource card on him or had luck with Guerro not putting good bonus cards)

2) He will have 3 last hp points.

Now it all depends on luck but you should have at least one Merc card which deals 3 damages on any card after put on table. So now to

Fourth turn.

Put Mac in front of the Jose to block his next attack.

http://img856.imageshack.us/img856/2787/20121208163735.jpg

After that it is just playing the best cards you have to block and kill his soldiers but if You still have any life points (something around 4) you've actually won.

At round 5 or 6 he will have no resources to play any card so it is a free round for you.

I had below situation once, but this was a VERY generous drawing (including two Fortune cards worth 46 each and a sniper Resource which takes Guerro 3 pts before Skeleton appears).

http://img811.imageshack.us/img811/6584/20121208162821.jpg

He was dead before the sixth round.

I'm finally getting the hang of the game and am enjoying it quite a bit! Once you figure out when you should defend and when to attack, it gets much easier (at the start). It also got easier once I loaded Golden Abyss and unlocked all the card bonuses.

Well worth the $5!

And I stuck totally. Any ideas for 5 stars Dillon?

7 rounds is freaking impossible.

His soldiers are attacking right after entering the battle 2/3 wiping out everything if not right away then in the next round.

His faction points are incredibly high.

His characters are hitting 4/5.

And my faction points... I'm starting with enormous 2 and he is depleting them with few characters...

After two rounds I've got like 10hp and his characters on board have over 15 attack.

My best was survive third round with two +1 factions cards on board. And that was 3 points not enough to put Skeleton and wipe out the whole table...

He's got over 100 fortune points which he spend on blocking my resource phase, and equip the most powerful weapons...

Over 20 tries and not even close...

----------------------------------------

13 more fights...

This battle is a joke. Two rounds is a maximum I can survive. How tha hell I can win if any killed merc with attack 5 is instantly replaced with it's copy and equipped with a weapon 7-10?!

There is no f**** way to pass this. I need 4 rounds to kill them all with Skeleton. I'm dead after second round.

The best thing. Deck is fixed. You can't change it. You will always get crap which block you for a round without any attack.

WORST FIGHT IN THE GAME!!

Based on luck and nothing more.

I really don't know what to say besides good luck and keep trying. 36 tries for me ;)

One tip, if opponent isn't insanely tough (like Guerro, Dillon etc) it is goot to put +1 faction card (one or two - depends) in safe spots (powered by +3 shelters) to grow your supplies faster. Even if you will get hit a few times.

Eddy Raja is a good card to block one card and hit the other for free 2 points (even if he will die next round).

As for the beginning always check the resources cards. If you have the Bank one fortune card ALWAYS use it. If not, rather cash card for instant +5 than put it on table, unless you know you will cash it eventually for full price or it will give you instantly good abilities (+ to attack, + to defense, hitting opponents etc).

If you mean that your first character can attack twice (once for 2/3 on any opponent on board) it depends on which one. Eddy Raja have this attack. And two of the Mercs.

100% :)

So ask if You have any questions ;)

I'm still confused :p

Sometimes I'll set up my cards so that I can protect my health, but then they'll attack twice with certain villain cards and completely mess up my strategy. I know pretty much what I'm doing game wise, but combos and Faction points still confuse me. Same goes for fortunes, when do these bank when you place them on cards?

I'm currently up to the descendants, having got 5 stars on all the previous ones.

For each fight I was doing the same. First fight was just to know what he will play first. So I knew if I can play card and had no problems with it or any card played will be dead anyway. In the second option I tried to play the best card possible to get the most of it. Most of the times it was Rika Raja - +1 to all factions

http://img12.imageshack.us/img12/4278/20121209222042.jpg

and if available Bank fortune card

http://img842.imageshack.us/img842/2681/20121209222216.jpg

After that it all depends. But there are only two fights which are really tough. One of them has great strategy on the previous page. Working like a charm.

Dillon is another story, it all depends on very good cards and a ton of luck.

As for fortune cards.

You will gather points every time your character with fortune card(s) kills an enemy. Or gather enemy's fortune if you will kill him no matter how.

Only exception is Skeleton which destroys all of the fortune on table.

To see which combos are available just touch any card on table or on the grid for a second. Any other card which has bonuses will be shown with appropriate bonus icon.

Bonuses are always the same. +2 attack, +2 defense, +3 fortune.

Faction bonus points and extra attacks.

There are two kinds of icons.

First one with a little card and green arrow.

http://img41.imageshack.us/img41/2807/20121209222111.jpg

http://img442.imageshack.us/img442/7256/20121209222129.jpg

This means this bonus can be used only on first play.

Second one are those circle arrows.

http://img690.imageshack.us/img690/3575/20121209222139.jpg

This means bonus will be available on each of your beginning phases but only from the next round card shows on the table. All cards are idle right after playing unless...

When you will see card with this Ignores attack timer

http://img577.imageshack.us/img577/7110/20121209222122.jpg

Means that it is immune to summoning sickness in the Magic the Gathering terms ;)

He can attack in the turn he appears on the table. Very powerful card when mixed with good weapon.

Pleased i'm not the only one who's finding the Dillon 5* fight insane.

Got 5* on every other fight first attempt...but this one I never get anywhere.

Right now into round 5 which is my best yet by far but can only survive one more hit so it's on a knife edge but I have him covered so far thanks to a bit of luck

Hi guys. I just bought this game yesterday and have been having fun playing it. I have a few questions around the factions:

1. What is the purpose of the 3 different factions - is it important which one you choose and if so why?

2. Is there a weakness/strength dynamic to the factions i.e. villains are weak against heros etc?

3. I notice in the cards that you often get +1 to factions and other such info - is this tied to what cards are available to you to put down in play?

Thanks in advance

1 - There is no choice. You're always using all three factions. There is no way to use only one cause You won't have enough of points to pay for them.

2 - As for SWOT analysis :D

Hero - Usually getting a lot of bonuses. Bank card on play, damage some opponent cards, healing etc Other thing is that they have a lot of combos between cards from this faction. And last but not least. They've got nice stats atk/def.

Villains - Lot of actions on beginning phase. Usually bank cards.

Mercs - Killers in the pure form. Attack on play, damage on play, no summoning sickness etc.

3 - I don't understand what You mean. 'Deck' is rather the same for each game. There are a few differences in what you can get. You can get in first play three cards with +1 faction and in the next one there can be no such a card.

And those bonuses - HERE I explained what icons on cards means.

Thanks. That explains a bit. In Qs 3 I meant that if you play cards that have +1 faction, then you get to be able to choose and play higher level cards sooner - the +1 is related to the ability to get cards for the different factions on the field earlier, correct?

And with Q2, I was asking whether it was better to play one faction type cards with the cards from another faction (because they have an advantage)?

Ok, I decided to play the game before importing my GA save ( so I can get the hang of things ).

Now that I understood the basics, here are my question.

What difference will I notice when I import GA save file? What cards will be stronger?

And Will the cards that I get upon beating an opponent be added to my deck? Or is there a trick to it?

As for first yes that's the idea of any +x cards. But cause they're pretty weak you have to have good defense plan.

Second, it all depends on the game. Sometimes it is good to stick to only one or two factions. Sometimes You will be shuffling amongst all three of them. Of course it is the best to use all of the available combos (especially between factions). You will have your own tactic for each duel.

One more thing. You asked if there are any weaknesses Hero vs Mercs vs Villains etc. No and yes. No, because there is always number vs number. ATK > DEF = dead and no other option.

Yes, because few cards have special abilities - deal 2 DMG to all heroes characters, deal 7 DMG to Pinkerton, etc. So you can say that when playing against a villains with such an ability it is not wise to play hero with DEF=2.

But you will learn what to do and how to react on a various ingame situations.

White-Wolf all of the treasures and resource cards connected to the GA (most of the cards) will be stronger. It will usually double the reward.

Without GA boost treasure card will have 24 treasure points. With GA boost 48.

Without GA boost a weapon card will have +4 to ATK. With GA boost +8 to ATK.

So it is worth to import.

All won cards are immediately added to your deck so you can use them almost instantly. If console will be so kind and will pick them for you, of course... ;)
