Introduction

Uncharted: Drake's Fortune presents a modest challenge in regards to obtaining all of its trophies. The only real challenge is when it comes to completing the game under Crushing Difficulty but through trial and error you will most certainly avail, even if you do consider yourself as an average gamer.

There are 61 collectibles to find within the game but they are fairly straightforward to find, even if you do not use a guide to locate them. You will be forced into at least 2 full playthroughs of the game, as a result, you will easily mop the Misc and Kill Related Trophies without too much hassle. Theoretically you can get all of the game's trophies in 2 playthroughs but you may have to do a quick clean-up of one or two Chapters in order to clean up the remaining of trophies. Thankfully there is no DLC or Online features in this game. Finally, you are limited to 10 individual saves so if you were to hit 10 then you will have to delete one before you can make another.

Note: All the videos used in this guide are my own.

Patches and Freezes

Uncharted Drake's Fortune first came out before the invention of trophies, instead you had 'Rewards' which pretty much emulates the notion of trophies. If you happened to earn all of these rewards on pre-patch save then this does not mean you will retrospectively earn the trophies, you will have to delete your saves re-earn them all over again. There are also reports of the game freezing during the Loading Screen or mid-gameplay, there is no solution to this as Naughty Dog have done nothing to cure it. The cause of this problem is firmware related as it has been an issue since the 3.15 firmware update came out. One possible remedy is to go and play something else for a while so the temp file cache will be purged, then come back and there may be a chance you can play for a while before the problem returns. Another solution is to change your XMB Theme back to the original default one.

Thanks to Terminator for supplying all of the above info.

Your first two playthroughs should be focused on obtaining all of the treasure and just completing the game. Yes there is an window of opportunity to earn some of the Weapon Kills and Misc Trophies but it is a waste of time to restart your game numerous times when they could be earned through natural progression or under an easier difficulty during your 'Clean-up' run through. That said, there are one or two Misc Trophies where it is advisable to obtain them during your Hard and Crushing playthroughs.

Step 1: Hard Difficulty and Collectibles Playthrough

Start a New Game under Hard Mode and complete the game from start to finish for: Charted! - Easy, Charted! - Normal and Charted! - Hard. Within this playthrough, collect all of the treasures for: First Treasure, Beginner Fortune Hunter, Novice Fortune Hunter, Enthusiast Fortune Hunter, Intermediate Fortune Hunter, Skilled Fortune Hunter, Proficient Fortune Hunter, Advanced Fortune Hunter, Professional Fortune Hunter, Senior Fortune Hunter, Expert Fortune Hunter, Crack Fortune Hunter, Master Fortune Hunter and Relic Finder.

It may be wise that you target these following Misc Trophies throughout your first playthrough. During Chapter 4 kill 5 enemies in row by softening them up with gun fire and finish them off with a single punch. This will get you: Steel Fist and Steel Fist Expert.

Throughout this playthrough and through natural progression, you will more than likely to perform Headshots; doing so will earn you: 10 Headshots and 30 Headshots.

Step 2: Crushing Difficulty Playthrough

Start your last full playthrough and select Crushing Difficulty. Complete the game in it's entirety and you will earn you: Charted! - Crushing. Throughout the playthrough you will definitely surpass 100 Headshots, thus therefore earning you: 100 Headshots.

If you have not earned the following Misc Trophies through just general play. Finish off the 20 melee kills midway through Chapter 4 for Stealth Attacker then make sure finish off the grenade and gun kills whilst hanging for Hangman and Grenade Hangman.

You will more than likely tie some more of the Weapon Kills related trophies, if not all of them.

Step 3: Chapter Select – Clean up

Fair play if you have earned all of the Misc Trophies during your 2 mandatory full playthroughs but if you have been conservative, then your next step will be to finish off the remainder of Misc Trophies. In doing so you will earn the required amount of the points to do the Weapon Workaround Cheat for the Weapon Kill Trophies.

Misc Trophies: Chapter Select under Easy Mode and finish of the remainder of Misc Trophies. Load up Chapter 1 and perform 5 Brutal Combos in a row for: Brutal Brawler, Brutal Expert and repeat this process till you get Brutal Slugger. Restart Chapter 1 and this time perform 5 Headshots in a row for Headshot Expert. Load Chapter 7: Out of the Frying Pan and at the start of it you can get: Dyno-Might and Expert Dyno-Might.

Weapon Kill Trophies: Now that you have all of the trophies bar the Weapon Kills' Trophies. You will have enough points to activate the weapon select cheat. Use Weapon exploit in order to finish off the remainder of the Weapon Kill Trophies and you do this on Chapter 17. If you did not kill 50 enemies without dying or killing 20 enemies whilst shooting from the hip, then factor this in whilst you go on your killing spree and you will earn Survivor and Run-and-Gunner.

Find 60 Treasures

Treasures are fairly simple to collect as they are little sparking objects, usually found on the floor and the game will prompt you to press :triangle: to pick one up. Once it has been picked up then that particular Treasure will count as collected, even if you die straight afterwards. Tip: If you are planning on collecting a Treasure and there are enemies around, deal with the enemies first because running to the treasure may result in your death.

Treasures carry over to your next playthrough so it doesn't matter if you start a New Game, they will still be there. If you miss some of the Treasures in your initial playthrough, don't worry as you can use Chapter Select to collect the ones you missed. Chapter Select can be found on the Main Menu, it is the 4th option down and you can only replay the Chapters that you have already completed. Note: When starting a New Game it will ask you if you want to reset your treasures which you have collected back to zero, you do not want to do this. Finally if you do choose to start a New Game, Chapter Selecting will be temporarily unavailable because you will have to complete all the Chapters again before you can replay them. This is why I advise collecting all of the treasures on your Hard Playthrough before you start a New Game for your Crushing Playthrough and use Chapter Select if you missed any.

Warning: If you are Chapter Selecting in order to clean up the Treasures, then make sure you save the game manually via the pause menu. If you just quit, then it will not record the fact that you have picked up that Treasure. Furthermore make sure you overwrite your main Save, do not start a new one as this will scupper your chances at getting the trophy because your Treasure count will be reset to zero.

You can also keep track of the Treasures whilst in game by going: :start: => Bonuses => Treasures.

Treasure Guide

For each Treasure there is a time in brackets, this denotes the time of where the Treasure is being collected in the following video:

Silver Mosaic Inca Earring (0:04) – At the very start of the Chapter, Drake and Sully are walking through the forest and will be exchanging small talk. Look out for a waterfall then to the left there will be the Treasure near a large rock opposite the waterfall.

Jewelled Silver Monkey (0:51) – After the first cutscene of the Chapter, the one where Sully vents his anger of saying this is an 'Another dead end', continue through the jungle and you will come to some pillars which you will have to climb onto (the game will give you a tutorial on how to climb onto things). Jump across the first two pillars then you will walk onto a collapsed pillar which will make a crumbling sound, jump off it onto another pillar. To your right is where you have to go in order to progress the story, however to your left is another pillar which has a tree. Jump onto it and right next to the tree is the Treasure.

Decorated Gold Ring (1:23) – As soon as you enter the catacombs, a cutscene will begin where Sully loses it and throws down a rusty helmet, followed by a confession about his financial woes. When the cutscene ends, progress further and you will encounter a pit. In order to bypass this you will have to shoot an explosive barrel which causes a pillar to fall down, thus creating a bridge across. Before you go across, to your left in the far corner at the edge of the pit is the Treasure.

Silver Llama (1:41) – In the Catacombs shortly after completing the puzzle whereby you have to push four symbolized blocks in the correct order to open up a massive hole in the centre of the room, climb down the ladder and move the block to make the water rise. Drop down into the water, swim to the shore and climb out. Run a short distance forwards and to your right will be the Treasure.

Golden Inca Cup (3:14) In the Catacombs, straight after negotiating the collapsing bamboo flooring. You will walk up the stairs which will then initiate a cutscene whereby Drake and Sully agree to follow the tracks. After the cutscene walk to the right of the room, there will be skeleton present and on it is the Treasure.

Silver Turtle (4:09) – Immediately after collecting the Golden Inca Cup you will exit the catacombs and right in front of you are 3 or 4 large squared pillars. Climb the smallest one and jump across all pillars. On the last one is the Treasure.

KtOShUO.png

Gold Tairona Pendant (4:38) – At the start of the Chapter, jump into the water and swim towards the waterfall. To your right you can climb out of the water, head straight on and you will have to undertake some climbing and rope swinging. This will lead you onto the Submarine but about midway through the climb, whilst you are hanging off a ledge, you can shimmy to the right. Climb up and you will be greeted by the Treasure.

Gold and Turquoise Inca Earring (5:53) – As soon as you drop down onto the Submarine, run right to the front end of it and on the tip is the Treasure.

You must carefully walk over it in order to progress but before you do, to your right there is another bank which you can drop down to and on it is the Treasure.

Intricate Gold Ring (8:28) After dealing with the first real gun battle of the Chapter, whereby you have to kill 3 waves of pirates. You will have to climb up onto a higher ledge and then shoot another padlock off a gate. Just before the gate, go right to edge of where you first climbed up. Right at the edge there will be a Treasure.

Patterned Silver Ring (9:20) After collecting the Intricate Gold Ring, you will have to break down a rusty gate. Inside you will be ambushed by a load of pirates. Clear the area and to your left there will be a ledge for you to climb up onto, on it will be the Treasure.

Golden Jaguar (10:04) Just before you encounter the scenic waterfall, you have to deal with a wave of around 5 pirates. Once they are all dead, run all the way up to the trees and there will be the Treasure.

Silver Inca Vessel (11:00) After climbing the waterfall via the Jeep, deal with the pirates at the top and then walk up stream. Continue right and you will encounter a small pit, whereby you will have to jump across and grab a tree truck in order to reach the other side. Before you do that, drop down into the pit and to the right is the Treasure.

Golden Toothpick (11:54) When you discover the plane wreckage, you will be ambushed by numerous waves of pirates. Once they have been dealt with, you will then have to exit the area. You will witness a pirate become a victim to a booby trap, to the right of the stoned doorway which you entered is the Treasure.

Silver Bird Vessel (12:30) After collecting the Golden Toothpick, you will have some climbing to do in order to progress. Soon as you touch down, to your right over the hump in the ground is the Treasure.

Silver Inca Earring (13:29) Shortly after getting the Silver Bird Vessel. Clear the area of pirates and bypass the tripwires. Look to your left and there is a small pathway leading up onto a bank. To your right are some trees and near them is the Treasure.

If you are finding Hard Mode difficult to master then there is no harm in starting off on Easy and earning all of the Misc Trophies, which will award you points thus enabling the in-game cheats. Doing this will then make the Hard Playthrough much more easier but bear in mind this will mean you will have to do an extra playthrough, because you will then have to complete the game on Hard in order to unlock Crushing Mode Difficulty.

3.jpg  Charted! - Crushing (G)(H)

Finish the Game in Crushing Mode

This the hardest trophy in the game as you complete the game from start to finish in Crushing Mode and the trophy will pop during the closing credits. To unlock Crushing Mode you must complete the game on Hard Mode, which in a strange way is very beneficial because a full playthrough on Hard prepares you for the challenge that is Crushing. See here for a full Crushing Mode walkthrough: LINK

Warning: Make sure you actually use the "New Game" option when attempting this trophy. Chapter Selecting and changing the difficulty to Crushing won't work.

Whilst attempting a Crushing playthrough, please refrain from starting additional New Games or using Chapter Selecting on an easier difficulty in order to clean up other trophies. This is because doing so will scupper your chances in getting this trophy if carried out wrongly but if you do need to lower the difficulty for something, then make sure you do not save over the Crushing Mode file; start a new save!

Differences when playing on Crushing:

After playing on Hard Mode the step up to Crushing is not that much but still enough to make it a genuine challenge. Here are some key differences and variations between the game's difficulties:

  • It takes around 5 bullets to kill an enemy, whereas on the easier difficulties it ranges from 1-3.

  • Ammo availability is significantly lower. All of the guns which can be picked up are still there but the ammo which they come with is very economical, this also applies to guns which can be collected from dead enemies.

  • You are much more vulnerable than you would be if you were playing under an easier difficulty. By this I mean: The A.I are smarter, they are more confident in killing you with a headshot, throwing grenades or charging and ambushing you. Furthermore, on Easy the enemies ability to shoot accurately is worse than it will be under Crushing. Also, health is more vital as it takes only just 2 bullets and you are in trouble. Lastly, the time it takes to regenerate is considerably longer than it will be if you were playing on an easier difficulty.

  • Cheats are disabled.

  • The amount of enemies remains the same as if it were on Hard Mode so there are no additional enemies when playing on Crushing.

Tips:

  • Always go for Headshots providing there are not too many enemies shooting at you. By doing this you will conserve ammo as it is hard to come by when playing on Crushing.

  • Take advantage of the exploits which will make one or two tricky Chapters seem very easy. Exploits such as the 'Water Room Glitch', 'Skipping sections of the Church' and so on are explained in the Crushing Guide.

  • Hide behind cover and take your time, patience is a virtue. Pick off the closest enemy and if any get too close, start shooting blind. This is because, if you aim and shoot, there is a good chance that you might die, due to an enemy being at close proximity. The problem with blind shooting is knowing where exactly you are going to shoot. It may pay you to aim by pressing :l1: and plant a small circled sticker on your TV, which will represent your crosshair and therefore making Blind Shooting less expensive in regards to wasting your ammo but the main plus is that when firing blind from a covering position, you are immune from being shot at by your enemies.

  • When it is quiet always press :r2: to reload your gun, the last thing you want is to be in open fire and for Drake to suddenly reload. It is also wise to monitor your ammunition. If you are dangerously low on ammo for a particular weapon and there is a different one lying around, then it may be wise to swap because the next time you are in combat the last thing you will want is to be hiding behind cover with no ammo and 5 enemies bearing down on you.

  • Sometimes you have to go backwards in order to go forwards. What I mean by this is to try and avoid getting into the heart of a battle. When you have an incoming waves of enemies, go as far away from them as possible as this will open an avenue which will enable you to tactically pick them off because they will be more spread out. Some will charge towards you but because of the distance, you will have plenty of time to react and deal with it. Finally if you were to be shot at, the distance will allow you to take the blow but if you were to be close then you may well die from a single shot.

1.jpg  Brutal Brawler (B)

Kill Five Enemies with a Brutal Combo

This trophy will immediately pop after executing your 5th Brutal Combo. To perform a Brutal Combo you must walk up to your opponent and press :square: :triangle:, wait for a second then press :square: again and if this kills your opponent then you have been successful. You can only do this when facing an opponent, from be behind your efforts will be in vain. Performing this remover can be problematic for some. Here are three tips which you may want to take into account in order to avoid any hiccups.

1. Most people have issues when pressing :square: :triangle: (pause) :square: The pause part of the sequence tends to be the most off-putting. The most reliable way to carry out the sequence is to hold your thumb down on :square: then immediately slide it up to :triangle: without lifting, then lift your thumb to press :square:

2. Make sure your opponent has not occurred any damage so make sure you have not fired any bullets at him, otherwise it may be a one punch one kill situation.

3. Never run towards your opponent and attack. When doing so, Drake usually delivers a hard punch or a grapple which produces an immediate fatal outcome.

See Brutal Expert for the best place to obtain this trophy.

2.jpg  Brutal Expert (S)

Kill Five Enemies in a Row with a Brutal Combo

This trophy will pop after your 5th consecutive successful Brutal Combo, if you are unsure on how to perform a Brutal Combo then see Brutal Brawler. This trophy can be quite tricky as you will have to perform 5 combos in a row without a fail. If you die or mess up the sequence, then your count will be reset back to zero. On top of that you will have enemies shooting at you whilst you are in combat. For that reason, I would wait until you have finished your full playthrough and go for this trophy when undertaking your Clean-up run. In doing so, this will allow you to lower the game's difficulty to Easy. Attempting this on Hard or Crushing can be challenging as well as costing you a lot of your time.

Five Consecutive Brutal Combos Guide:

Chapter Select the 1st chapter and make sure the difficulty mode is on Easy. Kill the first wave of pirates who circle around your boat then during the following waves the pirates will start boarding your boat, this is when you start performing brutal combos. You have around 8 enemies who will board the boat so there is a margin for error but not much. If you do mess it up then just restart the Chapter.

2.jpg  Brutal Slugger (S)

Kill 20 Enemies with a Brutal Combo

You will earn this trophy upon successfully performing the 20th Brutal Combo on an enemy. This can be done over the two playthroughs of the game then if you still do not have it, do not worry, you can finish this off at the Clean-up stage, just repeat the method for Brutal Expert.

Brutal Combos are cumulative, they carry over to your next playthrough. Furthermore, if you execute a Brutal Combo then die straight afterwards it will still count. Do not fret too much about this trophy as it will come naturally.

2.jpg  Stealth Attacker (S)

Kill 20 Enemies Melee-attacking from Behind

This trophy will pop after successfully performing your 20th 'Stealth Kill'. To kill someone stealthily you must walk/run behind an enemy and press :square: and Drake will then perform a stealth attack, which will result in a fatal outcome. Here are two factors to consider when attempting a stealth kill:

1. Stealth Kills are cumulative, they carry over to your next playthrough. Furthermore, if you execute a Stealth Kill and then die straight afterwards. It will still count.

2. You can only perform a Stealth Kill providing the enemy has not seen you, if he does spot you then it is game over. Furthermore running will not alert the enemies, the only thing that does is if you are in their line of sight.

20 Melee Kills Guide:

On your 2nd full playthrough, Crushing Mode, go for this this trophy midway through Chapter 4. It is just after the part where you find your plane wreck. You have two enemies who will have their backs turned. Wait for a couple of seconds on the bank, then run and melee kill the 2 pirates. Once you have done this, Restart the Checkpoint and it will take you back to the bank. Now wait for 2 seconds then kill the 2 pirates again, repeat this process until the trophy pops.

1.jpg  Hangman (B)

Kill 10 Enemies by Aiming while Hanging from a Ledge

This trophy will pop after killing your 10th enemy with a firearm whilst hanging from a ledge. In pretty much every area of Uncharted there is a ledge to jump or drop down to. To jump up onto a ledge, you simply press :cross: to jump and Drake will grab onto ledge automatically. To drop down to a ledge, walk near the edge and press :circle:. Once you are hanging on a ledge, press :l1: to aim and press :r1: to shoot just like you normally would in a normal combat scenario. Here a few tips and pointers which you may want to take into account when attempting the 10 kills:

1. The Kills hanging from a ledge are cumulative, they carry over to your next playthrough. Furthermore, if you kill someone whilst hanging from a ledge then die straight afterwards it will still count.

2. You can not just press :r1: and kill enemies via the Blind Fire. You must aim and shoot for it to count as a legit death. Furthermore, killing by using grenades will not count either.

3. When hanging of a ledge your shooting range is limited and you can only shoot what is directly in front of you, behind is out of limits. Just bear this in mind because you do not need anyone directly behind you, because this will leave you vulnerable and therefore liable to die.

4. You can only use one-handed guns when hanging from a ledge so weapons such as the Shotgun, AK 47 or any other two-handed weapon for that matter will not work.

10 Kills whilst Hanging from a Ledge + Grenade Kills whilst Hanging from a Ledge Guide

If this trophy has not popped through just playing the game, then there is a window of opportunity to get these kills during your Crushing Playthrough. During Chapter 4: Plane Wreck, just before you encounter the large waterfall midway through the Chapter you will have to deal with 2 waves of pirates in the previous area. Before you enter, there is a small green pit which you can grab onto. Hang off here and aim and shoot through the open doorway. Two pirates will bypass, soon as they are dead more will come. Use this as an opportunity to get all of your kills with a gun and grenades whilst hanging. Doing this you may run out of ammo, if that happens then simply restart checkpoint and you will be back right where you are.

1.jpg  Grenade Hangman (B)

Kill 10 Enemies with Grenades by Aiming while Hanging from a Ledge

This trophy will pop after successfully killing 10 enemies using grenades whilst hanging from a ledge. For tips on how to hang from ledges or important factors which you may want to consider in regards on what kill is legit or not, see Hangman.

1.jpg  Headshot Expert (B)

Kill five Enemies in a Row with Headshots

You will need to perform 5 Headshots in a row and the trophy will pop. Best way to get a clean Headshot is to aim by holding :l1: place the crosshair on the the victim's head and press :r1: to fire. Here are some key factors which you may want to take into account when trying to get this trophy:

  • If you accidentally kill someone other than a Headshot, then your Headshot streak will be void. However, you are also allowed to Restart Checkpoint, for example, if you were to perform a successful Headshot and choose to Restart Checkpoint immediately after, then this will not ruin your streak.

  • The Headshots must be clean so no body shots allowed. If you do shoot someone that's not the Head, it will reset your count back to zero. For those reasons I recommend targeting this trophy during your clean-up run because you can lower the games difficulty and in doing so, it allows you more time in executing the 'One Shot' kill you need. On Easy you can sustain more damage due to having more health. Furthermore, when shooting you can miss them completely and this will not ruin your streak.

5 Headshots in a Row Guide

Load Chapter 1 via Chapter Select. From the start you will have 3 enemies who will be on boats and around 8 enemies who will board your boat. Somewhere in killing those 11 enemies, you must perform 5 consecutive Headshots. Take your time, your health on Easy allows you to incur a lot of damage. If you get to where a speedboat arrives with a Grenade Launcher, then restart the Chapter as you will have run out of enemies.

1.jpg  10 Headshots (B)

Kill 10 Enemies with Headshots

The trophy will pop upon executing your 10th successful Headshot. Headshots are cumulative so they will carry over to your next playthrough. Even if you get a Headshot and die straight afterwards, it will still count.

See Headshot Expert for tips on how to deliver the perfect Headshot.

1.jpg  30 Headshots (B)

Kill 30 Enemies with Headshots

The trophy will pop upon executing your 30th successful Headshot. Headshots are cumulative so they will carry over to your next playthrough. Even if you get a Headshot and die straight afterwards, it will still count.

See Headshot Expert for tips on how to deliver the perfect Headshot.

2.jpg  100 Headshots (S)

The trophy will pop upon executing your 100th successful Headshot. Headshots are cumulative so they will carry over to your next playthrough. Even if you get a Headshot and die straight afterwards, it will still count.

See Headshot Expert for tips on how to deliver the perfect Headshot.

2.jpg  Survivor (S)

Kill 50 Enemies in a Row without Dying

For this trophy you will need to go on a kill streak, killing 50 enemies without dying. If you were to die or were even to Restart Checkpoint, then your kill streak would be reset to zero. On Hard or Crushing Difficulty this trophy is quite challenging but easily doable. There is an exploit by manually saving your game (pressing :start: then 'Save Game') and if you were to die, before it reloads, quickly pause the game and select 'Load Game'. However this workaround is not really necessary as there is an perfect opportunity during Chapter 17 to get this trophy, regardless of difficulty but feel free to use the Save Game trick as precaution.

Kill 50 Enemies in a Row without Dying Guide

Use Chapter Select to go to Chapter 17: The Heart of the Vault and immediately you will be under attack from the monsters that roam the island. Meanwhile Elena is trying to lift this rope towards you so you can climb to safety but whatever you do you must not climb this rope, stay down in the pit. Keep running on foot and kill every creature in sight till you get 50 kills. These creatures keep on respawning so do not worry about them running out. Just make sure you keep running and kill them via shooting from the hip as it is too risky to aim and shoot. If you are worried about dying then you can manually save the game as mentioned above but providing you lower the difficulty to Easy, you should be able to do this.

1.jpg  Expert Dyno-Might (B)(H)

Kill 3 Enemies with a Single Explosion 5 Times

You need to make a single explosion which will result in exactly 3 deaths. Do this 5 times and this hidden trophy will pop. You can cause an explosion through 3 different ways:

  • Throwing a grenade

  • Shooting a red barrel

  • Firing an M79 Grenade Launcher

You do not have to produce the explosions all in one go as the deaths are cumulative and will carry over to your next playthrough. Furthermore, if you were to die then it will still count. Lastly, you know when you have been successful in killing 3 people in one go because Drake will make a little comment such as: 'That is what I am talking about'.

Getting this trophy will also earn you Dyno-Might.

3 Kills with a Single Explosion – 5 Times Guide

Go to Chapter 7: Out of the Frying Pan and make sure the difficulty is on Easy. You will start the chapter off in a Jeep, with Elena driving and you will be firing the M79. As soon as the Chapter starts, aim to the far right and within the opening 10 seconds you will see some boxes to your right and a group of 3 pirates will come out from behind them. Aim your M79 at the bottom of the crates and the explosion should kill all 3 of them. Do not be disheartened if you don't get this during your first few attempts, it will take some time to know exactly when to fire but the best bit is that if you fail you can simply restart checkpoint and within another 10 seconds you can another bash at it. Lastly it is vital that the difficulty is on Easy because on a harder difficulty you may die before you even fire the M79 at the sweet spot.

Kill 3 Enemies with a Single Explosion

You will earn this trophy whilst going for Expert Dyno-Might, therefore read that trophy for a guide and a full explanation on how to create an explosion which will kill 3 enemies.

1.jpg  Run and Gunner (B)

Kill 20 Enemies using Firearms without Aiming with L1

For this trophy you are going have to kill 20 enemies by shooting blind. By blind I mean shooting without aiming so you must only press :r1: for it to count towards this trophy. You can shoot blind either just running on foot, behind cover or by hanging of a ledge. This trophy will come naturally because when you encounter the monsters, the best way to deal with them is to shoot from the hip. Here are some key factors which you may want to take into account when going for this trophy:

  • Killing enemies blind is cumulative, they carry over to your next playthrough. Furthermore, if you were to die then the kill will still count.

  • When killing on foot you can use any weapon which you like, Preferably a shotgun as its bullets will spread out and is therefore more effective as opposed to using a handgun.

  • When shooting blind you do not know precisely where you are aiming but as a reference it is exactly in the middle of your screen, make sure your opponent is in the middle for in order to successfully hit him with a bullet.

2.jpg  Steel Fist Expert (S)

Kill 5 Enemies in a Row with a Single Punch after Weakening them with Gunfire

Depending what weapon you are armed with, as a rule of thumb it usually takes 5 bullets to kill someone. For this trophy you will need to blind shoot an opponent 3 times (do not aim and shoot), then run over and press :square: to launch an attack. If Drake kills them with a single punch, then you have been successful. You will need to do this 5 times in a row and then the trophy will pop. Here are some important factors to consider when attempting this:

  • When you have weakened an opponent, you must run up right in front of them and press :square: If you attack them from behind then you efforts will be void, because Drake will perform an melee attack.

  • If you were to kill someone through a different way, other than what was described about, then your streak will be dead. Worth noting, that you are allowed to Restart Checkpoint, so if you were to weaken someone with gunfire and run over to deliver a one punch kill. And you then decide to restart checkpoint immediately afterwards, then this will not stop your streak.

  • When weakening an opponent with gunfire, difficulty which you are playing under will affect how many bullets that you will need to fire. If you are on Easy then you will only require one bullet to weaken your opponent, if on Hard or Crushing you will need 3 bullets.

Kill 5 Enemies in a Row with a Single Punch after Weakening them with Gunfire Guide

Target the 5 kills in a row on you Hard Mode Playthrough, during Chapter 4: Plane Wreck, just before you climb the rocks beside the waterfall. Jump over the ditch and through the archway, there are two pirates who are walking across, weaken one of them with gunfire and then rush over to finish him off. Due to the difficulty I would not risk trying another one, just play safe and Restart Checkpoint. It will take you just behind the archway, repeat this process until the trophy pops.

1.jpg  50 Kills: PM - 9mm (B)(H)

Kill 50 Enemies with the PM - 9mm

This trophy will pop after successfully killing your 50th enemy with the PM – 9mm. This gun features in every chapter of the game, you will earn this trophy indefinitely throughout your two mandatory playthroughs.

Weapon Kills Trophies workaround and cheats:

After earning some of the trophies you will also earn some points. A certain amount of points will allow you to use the game's cheats, which can be accessed on the pause menu by going into the 'Bonus' menu.

After the completing the game under all difficulties and a few or if not all Misc Trophies, you are now at liberty to switch on the game's cheats whilst playing by going: :start: => Bonuses => Rewards.

Below is the list of cheats which you can enable at anytime during gameplay, providing you have the points to do so.

PM - 9mm Semi-automatic Pistol – 300 pts

AK-47 Assault Rifle – 300 pts

Moss - 12 Shotgun – 300 pts

92FS - 9mm Semi-automatic Pistol – 500 pts

Wes - 44 Revolver – 500 pts

SAS - 12 Shotgun 500 pts

Mk-NDI Grenades 500 pts

Desert - 5 700 pts

Micro - 9mm Fully Automatic Pistol 700 pts

MP40 Submachine Gun – 700 pts

M4 Assault Rifle – 700 pts

M79 Grenade Launcher – 900 pts

Dragon Sniper Rifle – 900 pts

Infinite Ammo – 860 pts

You need a total of 8,360 pts to buy all of the above.

Before you attempt to clean up the Weapon Kill Trophies. For the workaround to work you really should have completed the following:

Collected all of the Treasures – 175 pts

Completed all Melee Trophies – 160 pts

Performed all Headshots – 65 pts

Run and Gunner and Hangman – 20 pts

Completed the Game under all Difficulties – 350

Earned Survivor Trophy and Expert Dyno-Might – 80 pts

This all totals 850 pts.

Throughout your first 2 playthroughs you will have more than likely earned a few of the Weapon Kill Trophies anyway so you should have over 900 pts, which is the required rate in order to unlock all weapons and to be able to use them at your leisure. Once you have the points, go to Chapter Select and play Chapter 17, You will have lots of unarmed enemies which you can run around killing liberally. Whilst in play press :start: => Bonuses => Rewards. From here you can toggle what weapons you want, obviously choose the ones that you do not have the required kills for its respected trophy.

Note: Make sure you are not aiming, hugging a wall or hanging from a ledge otherwise you will not be able to activate the cheats. The reason for this is because they become disabled if you do any those 3 motions. Once you have selected the weapon, your next move is to go round killing. The enemies keep on respawning, just do not climb the rope which Elena swings over towards you. Once you have the required amount of kills for the weapon, simply turn on another weapon cheat which you need the kills for. Keep doing this until you have all of the Weapon related Trophies Unlocked.

Note: During the Jet Ski part when you control Elena who has the M79 and when you are on the Jeep, all kills with the RPG will be legit and therefore count towards your 30 kills for this trophy.

1.jpg  20 Kills: MK - NDI (B)(H)

Kill 20 Enemies with the MK – NDI Grenades

This trophy will pop after successfully killing your 20th enemy with a grenade. You should go for this trophy while going for 10 kills whilst hanging from a ledge with grenade, see Hangman for a guide on how to do so. Furthermore, sometimes enemies will miss-throw a grenade and it will fortunately kill them instead of you though this will not count as one of your 20 kills.

Really?

I thought the treasures were fairly simple to find and collect.

Anyway, GOOD LUCK!!!

My bad, I should've said why it's tough. They're not tough to find, what's tough is going through this game again, chapter to chapter and collecting them lol. I think one of the big reasons is I can't wait to get done with this game so I can move on to another game. I like it but just wanna hurry and move on. But I just remembered I gotta get the rest of the treasures for Uncharted 2 lol. But I think I won't have the same problem for Uncharted 2, cause I really really like that game.

lol, finally finished the treasures. It wasn't that bad after I got to like chapter 8. I can't wait to start Uncharted 3 but I gotta get a few other games out of the way first. I usually don't mind collectibles in games but I can see where you're coming from.
