TV Superstars Trophy Guide & Road Map

Overview:

NOTE: This game requires 2 Playstation Move Controllers to Platinum

Introduction:

Welcome to TV Superstars! This is a Playstation Move Required game where you play as characters in TV/game shows that resemble many popular shows you would see on television. There are a total of six shows that you will replay several times on the way to Platinum. Overall, it can sometimes be a fun and rewarding game to play with some friends, but it can become quite frustrating in some parts that are much more difficult/tedious than they need to be. The controls are not as tight as they should be with the Move controller and the game really comes across as more of a demo of mini-games, rather than a title you would want to sink a lot of time into. The good thing is that the Platinum for this game is fairly easy, all offline, and very attainable for anyone willing to put in a little bit of time and effort.

Step 1: Create 8 Custom Characters:

This step should only take 20-30 minutes to complete and will net you three trophies: “A New Face”, “Fabulous Four!”,& ”Eight's Great!”. This step is also very helpful in the process, as several of the shows are much easier/faster to complete with more characters. The loading times in this game can sometimes take a while, so it is best to play with at least four of your custom characters whenever possible in order to minimize restarts. Also, there have been reports that some trophies will not pop if you are using any of the default characters instead of the custom characters, so play it safe and only use custom characters when you are playing.

Step 2: Play Each Game/Show At Least Twice With The Same Team:

This step will get you familiar with the game and allow you to knock out several of the team and some of the individual game trophies along the way. It is best to do this with a friend locally (as there is no online option), but it can also be done solo. If playing by yourself, you probably won’t get many of the “great scores” you’ll eventually need, but the only game/show you can actually even fail are the STAA commercials (which force you to play with one controller anyway). While completing this step, you’ll get “Team Players!”, “Famous for 60 Minutes!”, “Teamwork!”, “Dream Team!”, “Getting Started In The Fame Game”, as well as a few other trophies on the individual games/shows themselves.

Step 3: Complete All Of The Miscellaneous Team/Individual Gameplay Trophies:

In this step, you’ll want to set-up several short games with various numbers of players. You’ll need to play games with 2 vs 2 (same team wins twice), 2 vs 1, 1 vs 1, 4-for-all, and 3-for-all for several trophies (“Two By Two”, “In Your Faces!”, “Outnumbered”, “Competition”, “Quartet”, & “Trio”, respectively). I suggest using the same 3 or 4 characters through all of these set-ups, as you’ll eventually want to have 4 upgraded players to give you more chances at getting great scores in all of the games. While going for these trophies, you should also try to complete the 2, 3, & 5 consecutive days played trophies (“Perfect Partners!”, “Three Days of Stardom”,& “Five Days Of Fame”) by completing a game/show, then quitting out of the game, manually changing the date on your PS3, and re-booting to play another game/show.

Step 4: Grind Out All Individual Game Trophies & Get To The Top Of The A-List:

At this point, considering you’ve completed 2-3 playthroughs of each game/show, you should have several of the individual trophies already completed. Now is the time to focus on playing each game individually to get high scores (most over 7,000 points), gold medals, etc. If you’ve been using the same characters the whole time, you’ll get the top of the A-List trophy (“Ultimate TV Superstar!”) before finishing up all of the other individual game trophies. Keep in mind that some games are actually easier to play as a team, rather than individually, and vice versa.

Step 5: Clean-Up Any Remaining Trophies:

If you’ve completed all the steps so far, you should really have everything completed except possibly the 3-hours & 5-hours playing as a team trophies. These can be easily achieved by just replaying some of the longer games (ex: Frockstar) over and over again with your main team. With this, you can just activate the controllers and just keep pressing :cross: to keep it going, as you don’t have to actually score any points. Or, you can just make it easier on yourself and simply leave your controllers on during a the slot machine section of Let's Get Physical: Reloaded.

Eight new avatars created

All three of the avatar trophies are very simple and can be completed within the first 20-30 minutes of starting the game. Initially, the host will direct you to create your first character by using the PS3 Eye Camera. After you create your first avatar, you'll have the option to create more right then or later by pressing the :move: button on the "Create New" menu option, located on the right hand side of the green room.

Two single players complete one show against each other

Simply play a 1 versus 1 game. This is set-up by placing one player each on two separate couches. You can move players around by simply clicking on the player with :move:, pointing to a couch and pressing :move: again. The fastest game to play is the Frockstar Training Episode, which takes about 2 minutes plus loading times per person.

Three single players complete one show against each other

Simply play a 3-person free-for-all game. This is set-up by placing one player each on three separate couches. You can move players around by simply clicking on the player with :move:, pointing to a couch and pressing :move: again. The fastest game to play is the Frockstar Training Episode, which takes about 2 minutes plus loading times per person.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/447/04.jpg Fame Fantastico! (S)

Every show completed three times

This will likely happen naturally, as the majority of the games you will have to play several times to beat every scenario and attain every trophy. The only game show that you could actually attain all the trophies in less than 3 plays is Let's Get Physical. In addition, here is a list of the shows that need to be completed three times each:

  1. Frockstar (Any Location)
  2. Let's Get Physical
  3. Big Beat Kitchen (Any Recipe)
  4. DIY RAW (Any House)
  5. LGP: Reloaded
  6. S.T.A.A. (Any Commercial)

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/447/43.jpg Hotshot! (B)

TV Superstars has been played for three hours

You will get this naturally while playing all of the games and going for the 1, 3, & 5-hour Team playing time trophies. If you would like to know your progress towards this, do the following: While in the green room, in the upper left menu, if you click on the TVS Magazine option with :move: and scroll the pages with :triangle:, there is actually a record of your playing time logged for each character.

Also See "Team Tremendous!"

TV Superstars played for three consecutive days

Please see "Five Days Of Fame"

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/447/50.jpg Five Days Of Fame (B)

TV Superstars played for five consecutive days

This trophy can easily be achieved by either playing each day for five days, or by manually changing the date forward one day on your PS3 and re-booting the game each time.

Miscellaneous (Team) Trophies

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/447/15.jpg Outnumbered! (B)

One team completes a show against one player

Simply play a 2 players versus 1 player game. This is set-up by placing two players on one couch and one player on a different couch. You can move players around by simply clicking on the player with :move:, pointing to a couch and pressing :move: again. The fastest game to play is the Frockstar Training Episode, which takes about 2 minutes plus loading times per team/person.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/447/18.jpg Two By Two (B)

Two teams complete one show against each other

Simply play a 2 player versus 2 player game. This is set-up by placing two players on one couch and two players on a different couch. You can move players around by simply clicking on the player with :move:, pointing to a couch and pressing :move: again. The fastest game to play is the Frockstar Training Episode, which takes about 2 minutes plus loading times per team/person.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/447/06.jpg In Your Faces! (S)

One team beats another team twice in a row

This is a very easy trophy, just follow the directions for the "Two By Two" set-up and beat the other team twice in a row.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/447/19.jpg Team Players! (B)

A team completes one show

Please See "Dream Team!"

A team plays every show

Please See "Dream Team!"

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/447/16.jpg Dream Team! (B)

A team completes every show twice

This trophy will take some time and like all of the team trophies, it requires two Playstation Move controllers. You will need to play as a team (two people on one couch) and complete all of the shows twice. Below is a list of the five shows that need to be completed twice. NOTE: STAA does not need completed, as it is a solo game (Thanks to MMDE for pointing that out).

  1. Frockstar (Any Location)
  2. Let's Get Physical
  3. Big Beat Kitchen (Any Recipe)
  4. DIY RAW (Any House)
  5. LGP: Reloaded

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/447/23.jpg Perfect Partners! (B)

A team plays on two consecutive days

This trophy is similar to "Five Days Of Fame" and can easily be achieved by either playing each day for two days, or manually changing the date on your PS3 and re-booting the game each time.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/447/20.jpg Famous for 60 Minutes! (B)

A team plays for one hour

Please See "Team Tremendous!"

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/447/22.jpg Killer Combination! (B)

A team plays for three hours

Please See "Team Tremendous!"

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/447/51.jpg Team Tremendous! (B)

A team plays for five hours

This trophy is achieved by playing as a team for five hours of actual game play (not loading times, etc.). This trophy can be easily achieved by just replaying some of the longer games (ex: Frockstar) over and over again with your main team. With this, you can just activate the controllers, calibrate with :move:, and just keep pressing :cross: to keep it going, as you don’t have to actually score any points.

An easier method you can use to achieve this trophy is by playing Let's Get Physical Reloaded as a team, and after the first round a robot with a slot machine in him will come over to you. The screen will be prompting you to press :move:, but just don't press it and the clock should keep counting. Also, before doing this, you will need to set your controllers to never turn off, under your Power Save Settings at the XMB.

Game Show Trophies

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/447/24.jpg Let's Get Physical: Airhead Ace! (B)

30 perfect Airheads windows

Perfect Airheads windows are when they give you 100% scores for your landings from being launched into the shadow windows. This trophy is cumulative, so you can play this as many times as you need to achieve 30. Don't forget to press :trigger: if the shadow appears to be crouching. You may need to play this one a few times to get this, but you can get around 15 per round if you are really good at this game.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/447/25.jpg Let's Get Physical: Wheely Good! (B)

Great score for Wheel Heroes

This is fairly easy and I got it on my first try. Simply get a score of 1,000 or more in the very first rotating wheel section of this game/show. It's not that difficult to do, but if you are having any trouble, try it with two players on the same team. If you time it right, you'll be getting double points for each point pad on the wheel and each jump over the moving bar.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/447/07.jpg Let's Get Physical: Physically Fit! (S)

Great score for Wheel Heroes and Airheads

This is fairly easy as well, since you only need 5,000 points for a great score on this game/show. Just a little practice and you'll achieve this one in no time.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/447/26.jpg LGP Reloaded: Celebrity Hotshot! (B)

50 Starstruck targets hit in one game

This one might take a couple of tries, but this is fairly simple as well. You shoot the targets by pressing the :trigger: button when you see anyone except for yourself (or your teammate). You get three rounds to shoot 50 targets, with the maximum score being 75. Here's the maximum Starstruck targets in each round you can score/shoot:

  1. 15 Targets
  2. 20 Targets
  3. 40 Targets

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/447/27.jpg LGP Reloaded: Quite the Artist! (B)

A painting scored at 90% or higher

You'll get this fairly easily by going for "LGP Reloaded: Paintball Power". Just pay attention to the color changes that come up and be sure to dodge the floating guy that splatters paint if you shoot him. Play as a team with two Move controllers if you have any trouble with this one.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/447/08.jpg LGP Reloaded: Paintball Power! (S)

10 paintings scored at 80% or higher

I would suggest playing with 4 individual people to knock this out quickly. You'll be able to get 4 paintings per round that way, which means you could be done in 3 playthroughs of this game/show. Be sure to pay attention to the color changes that come up and be sure to dodge the floating guy that splatters paint if you shoot him. Play as a team with two Move controllers if you have any trouble with this one.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/447/28.jpg Frockstar: Fantastique, Darling (B)

Great score for makeup and costume in Paris

Please See "Frockstar"

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/447/29.jpg Frockstar: That's Awesome! (B)

Great score for makeup and costume in New York

Please See "Frockstar"

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/447/30.jpg Frockstar: Konnichiwa, Tokyo! (B)

Great score for makeup and costume in Tokyo

Please See "Frockstar"

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/447/09.jpg Frockstar (S)

Great scores for all three locations

You need to score 5,000 points or more in each location to get these trophies. It's easiest to achieve these while playing as a team, since you can do the make-up and dressing parts together.

For the runway sections, it is important to note that the PS3 Eye lags quite a bit while mirroring the motions you see on the screen (especially with fast movements). Knowing this, you should always be ahead of the movement you see on the screen. Also, please note that for the runway section, each of the arrows for movement are colored according to the speed at which you should do them:

  • Blue Arrows - These are the slowest movements
  • Yellow Arrows - These movements are of medium speed
  • Red Arrows - These are the fastest movements

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/447/31.jpg Big Beat Kitchen: Rapalicious! (B)

Great score for rapping

This is fairly easy to achieve. You only need a great score (roughly 1,000 points) in any of the rapping sections of Big Beat Kitchen. Each recipe has 1-2 rapping sections to complete the recipe. You can honestly just swing the Move Controller quickly back-and-forth in the direction(s) you are supposed to mirror on the screen in order to get good scores in these sections.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/447/32.jpg Big Beat Kitchen: Pancake Powerhouse! (B)

50 gold medals earned for pancakes

The gold medal trophies are fairly easy, but the longest grind in the game. In Big Beat Kitchen, you will want to achieve perfect scores (or very close) on each component that you cook/rap in order to rack up gold medals. If you are good at making pancakes, you can achieve up to 10 gold medals per round, which means you could be done in 5 rounds.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/447/33.jpg Big Beat Kitchen: Hot Stuff! (B)

50 gold medals earned for fajitas

In Big Beat Kitchen, you will want to achieve perfect scores (or very close) on each component that you cook/rap in order to rack up gold medals. If you are good at making fajitas, you can achieve up to 9 gold medals per round, which means you could finish this trophy in 6 rounds.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/447/34.jpg Big Beat Kitchen: Nice and Spicy! (B)

50 gold medals earned for curry

In Big Beat Kitchen, you will want to achieve perfect scores (or very close) on each component that you cook/rap in order to rack up gold medals. If you are good at making curry, you can achieve up to 5 gold medals per round, which means you could finish this trophy in 10 rounds.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/447/35.jpg Big Beat Kitchen: Maximum Meatballs (B)

50 gold medals earned for meatballs

In Big Beat Kitchen, you will want to achieve perfect scores (or very close) on each component that you cook/rap in order to rack up gold medals. If you are good at making meatballs, you can achieve up to 5 gold medals per round, which means you could finish this trophy in 10 rounds.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/447/10.jpg Big Beat Kitchen: Super Chef! (S)

Great scores for all four recipes

You will need a score of 5,000 points or more on each of the four recipes to achieve this trophy. You will easily get this on your way to 50 gold medals in each of the recipes, since you will be getting a lot of practice.

Game Show Trophies (Continued)

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/447/36.jpg DIY RAW: That's Nice, Dear! (B)

Great score for decorating and furnishing Old Lady's house

You will need to achieve a score of 7,000 points or more while decorating/furnishing the Old Lady's house to earn this trophy. This is easiest achieved with two players on the same team, as several sections are much easier done with two people (beating the walls with plaster, painting the walls, spray painting the picture, reassembling the wall puzzle, etc.). Some of the Old Lady's items include the cat picture, the old couch, and old lamps. If you pay attention to the host right before you pick the items at the end, you'll get a glimpse of what the room should look like when finished.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/447/37.jpg DIY RAW: Far Out... (B)

Great score for decorating and furnishing New Age house

You will need to achieve a score of 7,000 points or more while decorating/furnishing the New Age house to earn this trophy. This is easiest achieved with two players on the same team, as several sections are much easier done with two people (beating the walls with plaster, painting the walls, spray painting the picture, reassembling the wall puzzle, etc.). Some of the New Age items include the purple stand, the purple couch, and psychadelic lamps. If you pay attention to the host right before you pick the items at the end, you'll get a glimpse of what the room should look like when finished.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/447/38.jpg DIY RAW: Yeah, Man! (B)

Great score for decorating and furnishing Rock 'n' Roll house

You will need to achieve a score of 7,000 points or more while decorating/furnishing the Rock N' Roll house to earn this trophy. This is easiest achieved with two players on the same team, as several sections are much easier done with two people (beating the walls with plaster, painting the walls, spray painting the picture, reassembling the wall puzzle, etc.). Some of the Rock N' Roll items include the skull stand, the flame lamps, and huge stereo. If you pay attention to the host right before you pick the items at the end, you'll get a glimpse of what the room should look like when finished.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/447/39.jpg DIY RAW: Simply Exquisite (B)

Great score for decorating and furnishing Modern house

You will need to achieve a score of 7,000 points or more while decorating/furnishing the Modern house to earn this trophy. This is easiest achieved with two players on the same team, as several sections are much easier done with two people (beating the walls with plaster, painting the walls, spray painting the picture, reassembling the wall puzzle, etc.). Some of the Modern items include the contemporary lamps, the white stereo, and the flat screen television. If you pay attention to the host right before you pick the items at the end, you'll get a glimpse of what the room should look like when finished.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/447/11.jpg DIY RAW: DIY Dynamo! (S)

Great scores for all four apartments

This is achieved by getting 7,000 points in each of the four apartments. Please see the individual DIY RAW trophy descriptions for tips on each apartment.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/447/40.jpg S.T.A.A.: Oh No You Don't! (B)

A character fails to take a commercial's top score

Very easy trophy. Basically unmissable, unless you are the greatest Playstation Move gamer ever. Simply fail to achieve the top score on any of the S.T.A.A. commercials and you'll get this.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/447/41.jpg S.T.A.A.: Fight for the Top! (B)

A commercial's top score has been beaten by another character

This is fairly easy too. Simply score more than the default high score for any of the commercials. Most top scores are between 4,000-5,000 points and you'll see the score you need to beat before picking the commercial you want to play.

For additional information, please see "STAA: Publicity Machine"

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/447/42.jpg S.T.A.A.: Commercial Success (B)

Great score on 3 commercials

Please See "STAA: Publicity Machine"

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/447/12.jpg STAA: Publicity Machine! (S)

Great scores for all commercials

This is probably the hardest trophy in the game. Basically, you need 7,000 points on every one of the 8 commercials in the game. The commercials do take some practice and can be extremely frustrating with the sensitivity of the Move controller. The best way I found to beat these was to set-up all four players on individual couches in the green room, so you get four chances at the same commercial each time you load up the S.T.A.A. game/show. The additional chances each time really gives you enough opportunities to memorize the patterns and continue to get improved scores.

It is important to note that the PS3 Eye lags quite a bit while mirroring the motions you see on the screen (this is especially true with the faster movements). Knowing this, you should always try to be ahead of the movement you see on the screen. If you are having any trouble with this trophy, try recalibrating your Move controller by pressing :start: and selecting Recalibrate Controllers. When I would calibrate, I always held the Move controller directly in front of me (basically in the center of where you would do your movements). Another tip is that with the parts where you have to press the :trigger: button, you can just spam it continuously in most of those sections to get it to register. Also, please note that each of the arrows for movement are colored according to the speed at which you should do them:

  • Blue Arrows - These are the slowest movements
  • Yellow Arrows - These movements are of medium speed
  • Red Arrows - These are the fastest movements

All of the fame rank trophies are achieved by simply playing the game and going for high scores. The Top of the A-List is achieved by getting 86,000 points with one avatar/character in total of all the game shows. Each time you complete a game/show, it will show you what your current total score and rank is for each player. Make sure to use the same character(s) while playing every game and you will get this easily on your way to Platinum.

If you would like to know your progress towards this trophy, you can check your stats by doing the following: While in the green room, in the upper left menu, if you click on the TVS Magazine option with :move: and scroll the pages with :triangle:, there is actually a record of your scores for each game and each character.

Can these "team" trophies that require two Move controllers be completed solo, or do you need two people?

You can do the whole game solo, actually. It'll probably just take you a bit longer and it will be slightly more difficult. I found that some of the shows (mainly DIY RAW) are easier with two people because you can do two things at once.

about the two controller there's no online for that ???

Nope. There is no online available in this game at all.

Thinking about picking this one up. 10 bucks at gamestop aint 2 shabby.

It's probably worth less than $10. I'd recommend renting it or borrowing it if you can. But, it is an easy Plat and an excuse to actually use your Move controllers.

Is this game possible to platinum with ONE person using two move controllers or is it really difficult that way?

The short answer is yes. The longer answer is yes, because all the multiplayer trophies doesn't have anything to do with skills whatsoever, I don't think you actually need to be playing for the multiplayer trophies, just start the game and wait.

EDIT:

The guide is a little wrong, Dream Team! does not require you to play S.T.A.A. (Any Commercial) as a team, because that simply isn't possible.

Thanks for the heads up. Even though you can't play as a "team", you can still start a 2-player game on the same couch, you just end up playing the commercials individually. Did you indeed validate that you could get the trophy without playing STAA at all?

I platted this game 3 times, so I'm pretty sure it's accurate, but I could be wrong...

I never tried playing as a team before today, because I simply didn't know how to, and since your guide said I needed to play two rounds of STAA, I tried playing it once, but since only one of the characters actually did the commercial, I instantly thought it wasn't needed. So I did everything else twice and got the trophy for doing everything twice as a team.

With other words, I've only played STAA once while I had a team on my couch, but I got the platinum trophy, so yes, I'm certain you don't need it.

How did you platted 3 times?

Is there a US, EU, JP... version?

Thank you

I can confirm that you do not need to do the commercials for Teamwork or Dream Team trophies - simply because I have not done a single commercial yet and have both trophies. Will be seeing if this is also true for play each show three times and will update accordingly later on.

EDIT - I can confirm that Fame Fantastico also pops without doing any commercials.

Does the trophies for playing on 3 and 5 consecutive days has to be done with the same avatar?

Edit: Apparently. The trophy for 3 days only popped (for me atleast) when I used the same avatar for the tree days.

Ah, but at least it's not exactly a lot of work figuring out (change date on PS3).

Yeah, I know. Do you remember if you actually had to PLAY a game for all 5 dateforwards, or if you just quit from the menu?

I did 5 Frockstar trainings to make sure, since I couldn't get the trophy to pop the first time trying.

I got no idea, it's such a long time ago, and I think I did play once every day to make sure, also with the same avatar. When I'm not writing the trophy guide, I usually don't care too much for testing, so I play it safe. ;)

I definately need some tips for the last three commercials. No way am I close to 5450 on the phone-commercial. Best score I got was around 4700 but usually around 4500. As a user mentioned in a different thread, the tracking is awful, and the starting point for movements doesn't make sense, as you have to start a new move on the other side of town from where the last move ended, and in lightning speed.
