This game is everything that's wrong with "motion gaming"

The demo was just awful. PS Move is an amazing piece of hardware, and games like this will hurt it's reputation, and continue to alienate "core" gamers that aren't sold on the tech yet. This will lead to reduced budget games, post dev Move integration, etc. Games like Tumble and Sports Champions show the limitless potential the system packs. TV Superstars is just numb minded settling. Hey, you want to make money, we get it, but trust me, people that would be interested in this game, already have a Wii. This looks like a title that the developers did not take very seriously. the gameplay and move integration seems very trivial compared to sports champions which zindagi games put a lot of work into their project. It's really just more Nintendo-esque minigame nonsense... I'll pass...

I see what you are saying, but Sony is trying to take some of the Wii consumers on their side, so a game like this is perfect to do so. I have seen videos on this on youtube (DSP) and even thought the game looks stupid, they made it seem so fun to play. It's a fun party game to fuck around with, and not take seriously at all.

I agree, I enjoyed Start The Party, but TV Superstars is more of a chore than a fun game.

Thanks... I was about to buy this game used but I'll pass and spend my money elsewhere.

It's a fairly easy Plat, but I'd highly recommend renting it or borrowing from a friend. Unless you can get it for less than $10 used. This game is equivalent to many of the Wii "shovelware" games in that you might get a few hours of fun out of, but for the most part have little to no replay value.

Compared to Sports Champion, I agree that the quality of motion tracking and interesting movements is significantly lower. There are definite tracking software/interface issues in TV Superstars.

However, in highlighting what is most irritating while obtaining the platinum, I would have to say the Achilles Heel of TV Superstars is not the motion tracking, it is the lack of communication. If you are screwing up on something or don't know why you are given a low score, the game provides no helpful information. In order to solve problems or improve scores, gamers are forced to go to sites like this. Even awful games like CSI: Fatal Conspiracy offer tips for advancing in the game. TV Superstars has nothing. So yes, I agree that this game gives the Move a bad reputation, but I would attribute that more to lack of in game assistance than hardware. See the DIY RAW and STAA threads; once you figure out precisely what the game requires in terms of movement and scoring, it is much more enjoyable.

You know what annoyed me most about TV Superstars? That ridiculous rapping chef. Everytime I had to hear "WRAP DA WRAP, RAP RAP DA WRAP!" in the Fajita level, I got the urge to punt kittens into the sun.

Easy (P), but terrible game. I dare say it's borderline Leisure Suit Larry: Box Office Bust terrible.

OMG the controls on Larry were awful. The only reason im doing Tv Superstars is because it stacks. So if I can manage to do it with out killing myself or kicking poodles I can get 3 more easy platinums. Sad But True.

I remember long ago there was some campaign, so I bought a couple of copies of this game. I was able to sell it off at a store where I live with profit. I kept one copy, but I never tried playing till now, as now I got a move controller.

I got no experience in how well the move controller works etc, and I noticed it often didn't work as well as I had hoped, but might be I haven't really adjusted it properly yet. The game was kinda hilarious though, I felt good about laughing at it after paying so little for it, kinda like Mindjack. I hope the game wasn't meant to be awesome in a serious way, because it isn't, but in a silly way it kinda is fun.

I just wish there was more to do. I mean I started to play it yesterday, and after a couple of hours, I were already A ranked star, and had played all the stuff the game had to offer. WAY too short with other words. I don't want more of the same stuff, but rather more and varied.

As I said earlier, this game was for me a lot of fun when I didn't take it any seriously at all. Personally I went ahead and made a bum as my main character, with pictures taken from my face. I don't think it will be too funny returning to the game to get the platinum, because I have played everything now, and repeating the same few games again sounds very boring. At least it doesn't look like a long platinum.

Pong changed my life, nobody rapes me in the ass anymore!

Yeah, watch these videos, they are the only valid reason for this piece of shit game to exist. Don't buy it or play it, just watch these:

Agree with both of these. The motion tracking can be overcome, but the target audience (casuals) will be long gone by then. It's got to be accessible and that means working reasonably well right away. And like poetic said, with proper feedback to improve. With his tips DIY became easy. With some practice STAA is very doable.

And for better or worse, these "Wii-like shovelware titles" are part of motion gaming, just like fart jokes are part of humor. AFAIK there's only about 5 things motion gaming seems to be "good" for:

1) Dance

2) Fitness

3) Sports-themed mini-games

4) Non-sports-themed mini-games

5) Shooters? (never tried)

Maybe Morpheus will put good use to PS Move. Otherwise it's funny to read about the "limitless potential" of PS Move in 2014.

Sorry to necro the old thread, but there's not much activity in here anyway. :p
