Section 02. Introduction

This guide covers the North American release of Trinity Universe. Trinity Universe is a cross over RPG coming from Nippon Ichi. It has a standard JRPG feel to it. Unique wacky characters, an experience based level system and gear upgrades. What's different is that there are only a handful of unique dungeons that are randomly generated and the generation of these dungeons plays into many aspects of the game as well as a good amount of the trophies. This game requires at least 2 playthroughs, the first one isn't as important and the second one is where you'll be spending most of your time.

An important aspect to remember is that the storyline dungeons are not counted for certain aspects of this game. When it is said you must drift x amount of dungeons the game is requiring random dungeons. Another thing to remember is that there are 4 different types of endings; Bad Ending, Normal Ending, True Ending and True Route Ending.

Section 03.1 - First Playthrough

Go ahead and select which character you want to play with, who you choose only affects small things in the earlier parts of the game. During this playthrough you will want to drift at least 5 random dungeons before the end of the game to attain the Normal Ending. You can recruit 3 of the optional characters as well to obtain the True Ending, but the important part is to drift at least 5 random dungeons.

To know what ending you got, keep a separate save file from before the final boss. Then go to the gallery and highlight the art pieces. Be sure to save before you enter the gallery, as many people have reported their game freezing when they go to the gallery. There will be a caption saying what the art piece is related to. If you do not have a Normal Ending or True Ending art piece, reload your older save and drift a few more dungeons before going back and beating the boss again.

Now in the post game you will want to utilize the Convert Shop exploit to get the most powerful gear available. The exploit is detailed in the trophy guide under The Debtor trophy.

Section 03.2 - Second Playthrough

Load your post-game save and select to start a new game, now choose the main character you did NOT choose the first time. If you utilized the Convert Shop exploit you should easily breeze through the game with the better gear. Before you get too invested in this playthrough familiarize yourself with the requirements for Closet Otaku, What is truth, dood? and The Strongest Harem (These are your 3 missable trophies). You must also drift at least 15 random dungeons before the final dungeon. The final boss of the True Route Ending is ideal for getting Be the Meteor Shower and Power of Creation. You will also be spending a lot of time here going for Space Tourists, Space Activists and Game Maniac.

Spend 100,000G at the shop.

Spend 100,000G at the shop during a single playthrough.

See The Debtor for additional details.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/536/18.jpgManagraphic Addict (B)

Spend 1,000,000G at the Managraphic Workshop.

Spend at least 1,000,000G at the Miyu's shop. This is easy since you can buy Managraphs for whatever price you want. This counter resets with each playthrough.

Note: This trophy is buggy and may take a while to pop up. If it doesn't pop right away, do not overwrite your save, but go do a dungeon or spend some more time in the shops. Another possible fix is instead of dropping all 1,000,000 at once; divide it up into sections. Try buying 5 managraphs at 200,000 a piece. If it still doesn't pop, reload and try again.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/536/19.jpgGalaxy Miser (B)

Hold over 1,000,000G.

Have 1,000,000G or more on you at one time. This is easy but if you need assistance check the Convert Shop exploit found under The Debtor trophy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/536/20.jpgMeteorite Star (B)

Create 100 Meteorites.

This trophy description is a bit misleading. In Rizalea's Meteorite Workshop you must do the Create Meteorite option at least 100 times. Instead of opting to create a lot of Meteorites all at once, create only 1 Meteorite at least 100 times.

Note: This trophy is buggy and may take a while to pop up. If it doesn't show up right away don't overwrite your current save but go to a dungeon or two and spend some more time in the shops. If it still doesn't pop, reload and try again. This counter resets with each playthrough.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/536/21.jpgMaterial Star (B)

Create 100 Items.

This trophy description is a bit misleading. In Violet's Item Workshop you must do the Create Item option at least 100 times. Instead of opting to create a lot of items all at once, create only 1 item at least 100 times. The item materials are available from the Convert Shop.

Note: This trophy is buggy and may take a while to pop up. If it doesn't show up right away don't overwrite your current save but go to a dungeon or two and spend some more time in the shops. If it still doesn't pop, reload and try again. This counter resets with each playthrough.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/536/22.jpgMonster Star (B)

Create 100 Monsters.

In Tsubaki's Monster Workshop you must create 100 monsters. You cannot create multiple monsters at once and must get rid of one before you can create another monster. You can either discard it or fight it, discarding is quicker but fighting gives you items.

Note: This trophy is buggy and may take a while to pop up. If it doesn't show up right away don't overwrite your current save but go to a dungeon or two and spend some more time in the shops. If it still doesn't pop, reload and try again. This counter resets with each playthrough.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/536/23.jpgSpace Tourists (B)

Let yourself drift out of orbit 50 times.

Destroy the gravity core in random dungeons but do not escape the dungeon in time. Every time you drift out of orbit, you also gain 1 drift required for the Space Activists trophy.

Note: Every time you drift out of orbit you lose 30% of your money, so spend it or buy items and have them turned into Convert Points. To get back to the Galaxy Map you will either need to pay a passing ship to tow you back or kill the ship's crew.

This counter resets with each playthrough.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/536/24.jpgGame Maniac (S)

Get over 1,000,000 Evaluation Points.

This will require a good time investment, but is also worked on as you go for Space Tourists and Space Activists. You get Evaluation points for your actions inside dungeons; the best way to get points is to drift the dungeon, kill the lurker and escape. The quicker you escape the dungeon, the higher your point multiplier will be.

For a successful drift; find the gravity core and spam search until the lurker cloud appears. Once that appears, destroy the core and run to the dungeon exit. If the lurker doesn't attack you before then he should attack you soon after reaching the exit. Once he's dead, escape the dungeon.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/536/25.jpgShopaholic (S)

Spend 1,000,000G at the Shop.

Spend at least 1,000,000G at the Shop.

See the Convert Shop exploit under the The Debtor trophy for additional information.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/536/26.jpgCloset Otaku (S)

Obtain 30 Managraphic Images.

This trophy is missable. If you bypass too many managraphs in the storyline dungeons you will have to start a new game and go through the entire process again. This trophy description is a little misleading. You must get at least 30 Managraphic Images from Dungeons. When you're in a dungeon with a Managraph it will be shown by a blue line when you use your search command. Some managraphs obtainable in dungeons can be bought from certain shops. You should not buy them as some players have reported not being able to loot the IM from the dungeon and therefore missing the trophy. The spoilers section shows every Managraph available from each dungeon.

[spoiler=001]

Keep in mind there are 4 times of a day; Morning, Afternoon, Evening and Night. Some managraphs don't show up until a certain time, so stay at the Inn and have them wake you up at that time.

Discover 60 concealed treasures.

Discover and loot at least 60 chests in dungeons. When using your search ability inside a dungeon, the yellow line always points to a concealed treasure. This counter resets with each playthrough.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/536/28.jpgBe the Meteor Shower (S)

Hit Count in a Fury Chain exceeds 1,000.

Your characters should be able to reach 250 AP after waiting 2 rounds in combat, if they cannot do that then this trophy should wait. You can get plenty of powerful gear that increases AP in the Convert Shop. This can be one of the more difficult trophies to get. Unlike Cross Edge or other games there is no overkill mechanic, so once an enemy is dead you can't keep beating on them. So the hard part is not getting too strong and beating your enemies quickly. The best place to do this is the final boss in the True Route Ending, as she has a lot of HP.

[spoiler=002]Flonne: :cross: x 8, :triangle::triangle:, :square: x 11, :cross::cross::cross:, :triangle: x 11

Rizelia: :square: x 11, :triangle::triangle:, :cross::cross::cross:, :square::square::square:, :triangle: x 8, :cross: x 11

Mizuki: :cross: x 11, :square::square:, :triangle::triangle:, :cross:, :triangle:, :square: x 11, :cross::cross::cross:, :triangle: x 8

Prinny: :cross:, :square:, :triangle: x 5, :square::square::square:, :cross: x 11, :triangle::triangle:, :square: x 11

Before Prinny runs out of AP, activate his special attack (:r3: + :square:)as many times as possible. Each activation of his special attack hits for 146 times and can easily push your combo over the 1,000 mark threshold.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/536/29.jpgPower of Creation (S)

Total Damage in a Fury Chain exceeds 300,000.

You should be able to do this during your first post game if you used the Convert Shop exploit and bought the powerful gear. Keep in mind that there is no overkill function in this game so you would need an enemy capable of taking a large amount of damage.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/536/30.jpgSeek Obliteration (S)

Win in battle 500 times.

Win 500 battles over all playthroughs. You will probably get this during your second playthrough or going for The Strongest Harem. If not go to a low level dungeon and rack up your battle count.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/536/31.jpgThe Space Scrubber (S)

Drift 50 dungeons out of orbit.

Destroy the gravity core of at least 50 random dungeons. You do not have to escape for it to count. This counter resets with each playthrough.

See Space Activists for more details.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/536/32.jpgDeep Space Hero (S)

Defeat more than 1,300 enemies.

Kill 1300 enemies over all playthroughs. This trophy leads up to Hero of the Universe.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/536/33.jpgHero of the Universe (G)

Defeat more than 2,000 enemies.

Kill 2,000 enemies over all playthroughs. You will probably get this while going for The Strongest Harem, if not go to a low level dungeon and grind out the battles.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/536/34.jpgWhat is truth, dood? (G)

Complete the True Ending Route.

This trophy is missable. If you don't follow the outline to get on the True Route End you will have to go through the game all over again. To get this trophy you must be on the True Route Ending and beat the final boss. The actual path isn't difficult, but if you miss only one step you will have to go through the entire game again to get this trophy. The criteria for the True Route Ending is in the spoilers below.

[spoiler=004]

There are a few criteria that must be met to ensure you're on the True Route End.

#1. Must be on your second playthrough, with the main character you didn't pick the first time.

#2. Must have received the Normal or True Ending on the previous playthrough.

#3. Recruit the first 3 optional characters. See The Strongest Harem for details.

#4. In Chapter 11 you will need to see 2 optional events. The first one is from the space debris "Abandoned Hamlet" and the event has the same name. The second debris is "Fallen Building" while the event is named "Decimated Mecca."

If you can't view these events right away, stay at the Inn for a few days until they show up. These must be seen otherwise you will not be on the True Route End.

#5. Before you go to the last dungeon you will need to drift at least 15 random dungeons. Be sure to keep track because you'll also want to complete the other drift trophies after this.

#6. Defeat the last boss, if everything was done right the 4th optional character will join you.

If something wasn't right the credits will roll and you will get another ending instead.

#7. Now you're in the post game and there's a new area titled "Drifting Space," the dungeon with the final boss is "Asura's Path." Power up your characters go in there and defeat Asura for the final part of this trophy.

Note: Asura is the best enemy to get Be the Meteor Shower and Power of Creation on, so if you don't have those yet here's the best opportunity.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/536/35.jpgSpace Activists (G)

Drift 100 dungeons out of orbit.

Go into a random dungeon and destroy the gravity core. This trophy goes along with Space Tourists so you don't have to escape, but escaping helps build your Evaluation points needed for Game Maniac. This counter resets with each playthrough.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/536/36.jpgThe Debtor (G)

Spend 3,000,000G at the Shop.

Simply spend 3,000,000G at the shop. Money is usually tight on the first playthrough until the later levels and even then you'd have to grind for it. But this trophy is easy once you are in the post-game and have access to the Convert Shop. This counter resets with each playthrough.

Convert Shop Exploit

[spoiler=005]

Once you're in the post game and the convert shop opens up you can have literally unlimited funds for whatever you may want.

#1. Go to the shop and buy as many Tier 4 weapons (cost 35,000) as possible.

#2. Go to the Convert Shop and turn all these weapons into Convert Points.

#3. Use these points to buy Orihalcum Ore and Life Elixirs.

#4. Go back to the shop and sell the Orihalcum Ore and Life Elixirs then buy more weapons.

#5. Repeat steps 2 through 4 as needed.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/536/37.jpgThe Strongest Harem (G)

Every character's Level is 100 or higher.

This trophy is missable. If you don't follow the outline to get on the True Route End you will have to go through the game all over again. To get this trophy you must have recruited all four optional characters. To do this you must be on the True Route End. Details for recruiting each character is below in the spoilers section, which details for the True Route End are found under the What is truth, dood? trophy.

[spoiler=006]

There are four optional character, all of which are not too difficult to get. They are Miyu, Recit, Mizuki and Suzaku.

Miyu

#1. In Chapter 2 see the event "Fearsome Mana User."

#2. Go to the Managraph shop and buy a managraph for 10,000 more then what she asks for. She asks for 3,000 so buy one for 13,000.

#3. Rest a few days at the Inn and the event "Cooking with Mana" should be there, watch it.

#4. Go back to Miyu's shop and again overpay by 10,000.

#5. Stay at the Inn and there should be another event "Budgetary Blues," watch it.

#6. Go back to Miyu's shop and overpay by 10,000 one last time.

#7. Back to the Inn and rest, watch the new event "I'll go with you."

Congratulations you have successfully recruited Miyu. She is first available in Chapter 2 and only for a few chapters after that, she isn't available in the later chapters so get her as soon as you can.

Recit

#1. In Chapter 3 see the event "Crushing you."

#2. Go to the Yoma King Castle - L3: Baptism Path and where the treasure should be, you'll fight Recit.

#3. In Chapter 4 you must watch 3 events; First is "Peculiar Incident," the second is "Register Vendetta," and the third is "Keep the Receipt."

#4. During the third event you will fight Recit, win the fight and he joins you.

Congratulations you have successfully recruited Recit. He's only available during Chapters 3 and 4, if you miss any of those events you will miss being able to recruit him.

Mizuki

#1. In Chapter 5 you will have two events to watch; the first is "Convenient Setup" and the second is "Mizuki's Mizugi."

#2. During the second event you will have to fight Mizuki, defeat her and she joins you.

Congratulations you have successfully recruited Mizuki. She's only available in Chapter 5 and is relatively easy to miss if you ignore the events, so don't miss her.

Suzaku

#1. If you fulfill all requirements for the True Route End he will join you immediately after beating the last boss.

#2. Details for the True Route End are found at the What is truth, dood? trophy.

Now that you have all 4 optional characters you must get them all to level 100. Go to a high level dungeon with one powered up character and have the powered up character kill until the other party members are level 100. When another character reaches 100 swap them out for one who isn't, do this until every character is level 100.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/536/01.jpgThe Platinum Prinny (P)

All that work for this, dood?

It's the platinum trophy, get everything else first.

  • 2 weeks later...
I've just reached the post game. I'm now using the Debtor trick to buy the best equipment and items. I've bought 99 Cure Herbs, 99 Cure Grass, etc.

If the "concealed treasure" I find in a Dungeon is a Cure Grass (for example) and that my inventory is full. Will it still count towards the "Treasure Hunter" trophy ?

As long as the chest disappears it should count for you. I'd recommend dropping a few of those items while you go into dungeons to be sure you get the item. You'll be entering well over 100 dungeons not only for Space Activists but Game Maniac requires a lot of dungeons to be drifted, and grabbing the chest adds about 200 points to your end score when you leave the dungeon. The points being there leads me to believe you'll be credited for the dungeon treasure but again, knowing you claimed the prize is always better.

A little question... Why the time to plat is 80-150+? what makes the big difference?

Thx!

I left it a big gap because over the course of the game it will take somewhere between 10 to 20 hours for your first playthrough. Your second playthrough should be significantly shorter overall (better gear = less grinding) but will still take time as you will be wanting to grab all Managraphs from the storyline dungeons and being sure you stay on the True Route End path.

Once there you'll need to power up to beat Asura (an hour or so), level up all characters to 100 (a few more hours) and then you'll be grinding dungeon drifts and evaluation points. This is where the time gap is, you can be either really lucky with random dungeons popping in all the time or like me and go for a real life half hour without anything happening. It's all up to the random number generator, which has demonstrated continuous hatred towards me.

Synthesize 100 Items.

i would like to confirm that when i was trying for this, i just did the first weapn to Synthesize 99 times, then did a few others, i was making them 1 by one and exiting right out to the item shop, managrahics, monster coliseum, ect selection then back in again to make, when i got to 101 i thought it didnt work, so i went to the convert shop and converted what i just made, and then the thropy popped up, if anyone else has had this too, might be the easyest way, not sure but it worked for me.

also the DLC helps speed up the 1st playthrough because they give you a +7500ATK/INT meteorite that makes the game really really easy

i'm using the eu version, so i don't have as many dlc as the us, but i did get a few meteorites like that +7500atk/int, though it's only that high in the first slot of the meteorite ring.

i'm using the eu version too and bought all the dlcs :)

@Kheapathic : maybe you should put a few warnings on your guide :

1 - save often because sometimes the game freezes (especially when you watch the gallery but i got it to freeze during dialogues too). verified on the eu version.

2 - do not buy IM images in the stores otherwise they may not appear in the dungeons and you will miss the trophy "Closet Otaku". i don't know if this bug has been fixed on the eu/us version but better be cautious.

i can also confirm this too, i've had it freeze numerous times during dialogues, it would still have the music playing, but the control won't respond so had to power off or eject the game, and then the ps3 would restart on its own, though i can only confirm EU version of this.

the IM managraphics i am not sure of this, but i have bought a few in shops, so will see if those ones i bought will be in the dungeon when i go to it.

1. I've never had a single freeze in the game, but anyone who's played RPG's should know to save and save often. But I do know many people have referenced the game freezing when going into the gallery. Again the only time I mention going to the gallery is if you're unsure which ending you've gotten on your first playthrough and I do say to save before then.

2. In the guide I start with the trophy being missable and that you need to find 30 IM's from dungeons. Never heard of the bug where they won't appear if you buy one in a shop. But I can add it as a precaution.

i would like to confirm that the IM managraphics buying before you find is not a bug, i bought IM Dot and went to L13 DDK dungeon since that where it was also, and i was able to pick it up, so now i have 2 IM Dot managraphics, it maybe bugged not sure, but i would save before buying them from shop, though i bought mine from the convert shop, not sure if that counts.

i would also like to point out that to make leveling to 100+ for "The Strongest Harem" easyer and "Be the Meteor Shower" for 1000+ hits in a fury chain i would recommend having a few if not allot of Clear Crystal and Cosmo Beauty Meteorites, Clear Crystal is high exp, 125 in center of meteorite ring, and Cosmo Beauty is high luk/ap, around 5000 in center of meteorite ring, add a few more for more exp and ap, the Cosmo Beauty though dose not add 5000 to ap, i think it is a % of it, like if 5000, it will add 50ap, not sure, but it adds 5000 luk though, makes real easy for both leveling and hit combo chain.

tx for the info kumozero :)

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/536/37.jpgThe Strongest Harem (G)

Every character's Level is 100 or higher.

This trophy is missable. If you don't follow the outline to get on the True Route End you will have to go through the game all over again. To get this trophy you must have recruited all four optional characters. To do this you must be on the True Route End. Details for recruiting each character is below in the spoilers section, which details for the True Route End are found under the What is truth, dood? trophy.

[spoiler=006]

In the EU version, the first event isn't called "Fearsome Mana User" but "Moegraphic Girl".

Also the episode of Chapter 3 linked to Recit is "Crush her" and not "Crush you".

EDIT : also the optional event of chapter 11 is "Forsaken Hamlet" rather than "Abandoned Hamlet".

Is there any drawback in using Clear Souls to give incredible stats to my main character ? My goal is to one-hit-kill everybody to level up my other chars as fast as possible.

There is none. Go ahead and boost their stats as much as you want. The only draw back is if you boost your stats way too high and you find yourself too powerful to earn Be the Meteor Shower. That's the only drawback, but even then you'd have to boost yourself quite a bit to take down Asura with minimal hits.

i got my main character maxed out, can kill the boss mob in Yoma King Castle: Gate: TriUni!! in one turn, so long as i have 250ap ready, kind spent a few hours buying lots of clear souls :p but i agree that if you max it out, you can't earn the "Be the Meteor Shower" trophy as you kill anything to fast, just swap them out for a lower lvl character, but good for helping others lvl up though.

edit:

something i didn't do before i finished the game was get the "Be the Meteor Shower" trophy, i ended up saving after i beat the game so i was unable to fight Asura, making it hard for me to get this trophy, so i had to over power some of my characters to fight in high end dungeons that only has bosses, at first i was over killing them, so moved on to the next set, took me awhile, but finaly got the trophy, only by 1 hit point :p 1,001 was my finish, these bosses there have 1m hp was kind of hard at first, but now a peace of cake, i would recommend those who don't wish to do things the hard way and fight Asura to get the "Be the Meteor Shower" trophy.

now off to get my "Space Activists" and "The Space Scrubber" trophies :p

yes i've maxed out miyu (9999 for all her parameters) and she beat the final boss on her own with only 8 :triangle: attacks  after this fight, she jumped from lvl80 to lvl105 winning 25 levels at once  (I had 4 "Clear Crystal" equipped per character).

QUESTION : does all data carry over after the true ending ? As a precaution I saved on a new slot, I wouldn't like to have my drifted dongeons reset

Crap, that's one thing I forgot to put down. Only money (not convert points), Evaluation Points, Most Items (IM's and Clear Souls don't), the counter for your monsters killed and the counter for battles won. Everything else is reset.

No, I mean after beating the true end boss. Is there any data that I lose ?

My idea is to farm the final boss to level up all my characters.

You don't lose anything, it's just like when you beat the final boss on a non-True Route End. You can load it up and you'll be post game. The only problem is once you've beaten Asura and saved, she doesn't come back. You can't farm her for experience, you have to go elsewhere.
