Christmas Giveaway Rules

To submit your answer, please view [thread=221039]this thread[/thread].

There's a crime that needs solving folks. Certainly everyone remembers the infamous GuiltyElf and his theft of precious PSN gift cards last holiday season, as well as his subsequent framing of Terminator for the crime. I'm sad to report that despite our increased security measures this year, the GuiltyElf has struck again.

But there's a bit of a twist this time around, as someone has already managed to find and "stop" the GuiltyElf, taking the PSN cards for him or herself. Unfortunately, we on staff have managed to gather very few details about this second crime. It will be up to all of you, to piece together not just who killed the GuiltyElf, but where the murder took place and what weapon the murderer used.

Once again the stolen goods consist of two PlayStation Network cards, one valued at $20 for the NA PSN Store, the other valued at £20 for the EU PSN Store. Submit your answer correctly in the submissions thread, and you'll be entered into the draw for the card of your choice. Submit a wrong answer, and you'll be eliminated from the giveaway. So make sure you're absolutely sure, because there's no going back once you've submitted your first guess (edits will be ignored and extra attempts deleted). This goes for making multiple accounts too, we'll know, so please save us the hassle.

All of the potential suspects, weapons, and locations are listed below. Additionally, you will find a description of the crime scene, containing all of the clues you need to successfully solve this crime. However, to help solve this mystery, we on staff will also be leaving you clues to follow throughout the investigation. Solving our clues will allow you to eliminate suspects, places, and weapons from the list (similar to the games Clue and Cluedo). The deadline to submit your answer is 31st December at 11:59pm GMT. Any answers submitted after that time will be excluded. The winner of each draw will receive the code via PM on January 1st (approximately 24 hours after the deadline). And remember to be careful in sharing information or bragging about your excellent detective work; the more members that correctly solve the crime, the less likely you are to win the prize.

Good luck!

Description of the Crime Scene

Law enforcement discovered the crime scene while responding to afternoon reports of a noise complaint and possible break in. However, when police arrived, they found the door to the room left ajar, completely intact and undamaged. The interior of the room however was in a state of disarray. Furniture and possessions were thrown everywhere, almost as if the room had been hit by a strong storm or runaway train. The scattered possessions included stacks of papers marked with a variety of strange, futuristic symbols, a clock, shattered and broken at the time of 4:17, and blueprints for futuristic weapons.

While combing through the room, detectives noted a cold gust of wind chilling them to the bone. This led them to an open window located directly below a security camera that GuiltyElf had installed. Upon examining the window, investigators determined that not only was the room too high above ground level to make it a viable access point, but that the window was far too small for a person to fit through.

Investigators then proceeded to examine the recorded footage from GuiltyElf's security cameras, hoping to gather any information on the perpetrator. Footage prior to the crime shows GuiltyElf seated at his desk, solving logic games and drinking a small cup of cocoa. Suddenly, the footage cuts out, the final frame of the video revealing nothing out of the ordinary; the elf still seated and the door still closed. Detectives returned to the scene of the crime, and upon further investigation, found that the wire leading to the security camera had been severed.

The oddest aspect of the crime, the investigators noted, was that despite the chaos the room had been left in, certain parts of the room had clearly been scrubbed and cleansed. While there were no finger prints to be found, there was one DNA sample that detectives were able to gather: a few strands of hair or fur. Strangely, upon examining this DNA in the lab, scientists found that the sample did not match the known human genome.

Second Crime Scene

Sad news to report today members, as the nefarious GuiltyElf murderer has struck again. Upon arriving to work at the PST offices this morning, the bodies of Darth_Krid and Harry94_ were found dead in our makeshift investigation room. Harry and Krid had been working overtime this past week, insisting they had almost identified the culprit. Despite the minimal evidence that was able to be recovered from the previous crime scene, Krid and Harry had compiled several crates of files with background information on all of the suspects and involved parties.

Unfortunately it appears that our criminal is growing bolder, opting for a more direct assault compared to his original stealthy effort. A straight path of destruction was left from an exterior wall of our building directly to the investigation room where Harry and Krid had been working. The investigation room itself was in complete disarray; both victims had been thrown across the room repeatedly and their crates of work were completely destroyed, along with everything else in the room. Everything in the room that is, except for one piece of evidence left intentionally by the murderer:

A single pack of gum, but with a note from the culprit hidden inside: "Yippe ki yay motherfuckers."

I am pretty sure we can rule out Rapture as a place anyway since it is above ground level, the crime scene that is

O RLY?

There's such a thing as an airlock. Wonderful inventions, these.

I definitely took a random shot at my submission. I really like this idea, it's really fun!

Being wrong isn't fun though, is it? :nana:

It was Professor Plum, in the Kitchen, with the Candlestick!

... Oh those aren't available options?

Seriously though, "Furniture and possessions were thrown everywhere, almost as if the room had been hit by a strong storm or runaway train." sounds like it was messed up by some sort of hooligan or FootballPsycho.

I'm getting scared that the next crime scene is going to be when everyone on the site gets electrocuted because PS3T is underwater

Will try this later thou, I do like a good puzzle with a shiny PSN card at the end :D.
