Introduction

Tomb Raider: Legend is part of the Tomb Raider game trilogy which is exclusive to PS3. Tomb Raider: Legend has been digitally remastered in stunning HD and it looks great! The game sees you playing as Lara Croft, an archaeologist who specialises in hidden tombs and deserted ruins. You travel to many different locations in the game such as Africa, England and Japan in order for Lara to discover what really happened that dreadful day to her mother.

Cheats

Walkthrough

Step 1: 'Tomb Raider' Difficulty setting, Misc Trophies and Rewards

The first thing you will want to do is to start a new game on the 'Tomb Raider' difficulty setting, this is the hardest setting you can choose from. The game really isn't hard on this setting compared to the hardest difficulty on other games. The only level I had trouble with on hard was the final one which was a real pain in the ass. Here's some tips for hard. Cover; You can't really cover that well in this game but you can still hide behind objects. The main enemy you'll be facing in this game are humans unfortunately so it's not as fun and it makes things harder. Auto Lock on; This makes the game so much easier, you can just lock onto enemies and tap the trigger (so you don't get recoil), this is really useful in situations which involve many enemies. This happens most the time anyway if you hold onto :l1: near an enemy. Med kits; Save these, only use them when your health is less than half. A full med pack will nearly put your health all the way up while a small med kit puts about a quarter up. Remember to always have some on you! Traps; On hard most of these are one hit kills which can be really annoying, especially in England as the whole level is riddled with them! Try your best to avoid them as much as you can. Roll; This is really useful, you can just run around rolling about and avoid gunfire completely, to roll press :circle: while moving.

Once you've completed it on hard the rest of the trophies are even easier, so once you've done this part you have got the hardest trophy out of the way. Also on this play-through you will want to get all the rewards, there's quite a lot of them unfortunately but don't worry as there's a guide within this guide which shows you how to get them all, rewards are put into 3 categories; bronze, silver and gold; bronze being the easiest to find while gold being the hardest. You can check to see how many you have on each level by bringing up your PDA by pressing :select:. At the end of this step you'll have, All Story related trophies, All reward trophies, all (if not most) misc trophies and the hard way.

Step 2: Time Trials

With cheats these are even easier, I have written under the specific trophy which time trials you should do first to get the best cheats. Now you need to do all the time trials, they're really really easy so don't worry about not doing them on time. I only failed on one time trial which was Ghana as I hated that level so much. The time trials are:

Level 1: 12 mins 30 secs

Level 2: 21 mins 30 secs

Level 3: 12 mins 15 secs

Level 4: 20 mins 0 secs

Level 5: 27 mins 10 secs

Level 6: 27 mins 0 secs

Level 7: 13 mins 40 secs

They really aren't that hard, the glitch in Level 5 makes it so you can complete the level in about 10 minutes. The rest can be easily speed run very quickly if you play on easy. Don't die either, there is enough time on the clock to die but try not to, the timer keeps going when you respawn from the point you died at. You can just ignore the enemies and roll along. Also you need to know how to do the puzzles flawlessly, if you have forgotten how to do them look at the videos within the guide. At the end of this step you should have all time trial trophies.

Step 3: Croft Manor

This is a real pain in the ass, really annoying. I tried to do this without a guide but failed miserably. So I advise you to use a guide to get the artifacts in here as fast as you can. Once you get the gold artifact your done with croft manor, never come back. Luckily there isn't a time trial related trophy for this level so you don't need to do a time trial. At the end of this step you'll have all the Rewards and every trophy relating to them. You'll also get the You Wear It Well trophy if you followed the roadmap accordingly. At the end of this step you should have your platinum, congrats! If for some reason you're missing some trophies continue to step 4.

Step 4: Clean Up

If you may have missed out on some misc trophies from the first step, now is the time to go back and get those. The Main one you may be missing is Superior Firepower as you really need cheats to do this easily.

Earn all the trophies in Tomb Raider: Legend

Same as any other platinum, earn all the other trophies. Congrats!

02.jpg Most Rewarding (B)

Collect a reward

Will be one of the first trophies you get in the game. The trophy requires you to get any reward (Bronze, Silver or Gold). The first reward in the game is when you first start the game look across the water and follow the path around, there's a bronze award here. You should be following a guide as you play so this trophy will be no problem.

See Gold Hoarder for a complete guide

03.jpg Style Points (B)

Kill an enemy with an Aerial Attack

To perform an aerial attack run right up to an enemy and when very close press and hold :cross: , this will initiate a back flip (or front flip). It will be in slow motion when your in the air so it's really easy. Shoot at him in the air. If you successfully killed them the trophy will unlock.

The first place to get this trophy is during the very first level, you will be tasked to take out the single enemy, run up to him and use the above method.

04.jpg Out With A Bang (B)

Kill an enemy by detonating a fuel tank

A fuel tank is a grey tank and looks much like a gas canister rather than a fuel tank. The first place you will encounter fuel tanks are during level 2. When you reach the courtyard at the very first part of the level. Look to your right upon entering, there's one next to some boxes. If you kick the fuel tank up (away from the truck) a bit and then deal with the enemies. Once You've killed the first wave 2 guys will run out the doors right by the fuel tank, you will defiantly be able to kill one, maybe both. To explode a fuel tank look towards it while pressing :l1: and you will see a :triangle: prompt above it, press :triangle: when ready to detonate it. There's another one in the same courtyard if you fail. If you don't get it this time there's plenty more chances during this level and level 5.

05.jpg Bronze In Pocket (B)

Collect 5 common bronze rewards

If you're following the roadmap and guide accordingly this will unlock during level 1 (Bolivia)

See Gold Hoarder for locations of all the artifacts.

06.jpg The Professional (B)

Complete the Bolivian temple without dying

The Bolivian temple is on the very first level. Just make sure don't die throughout the whole level as this trophy is a bit glitchy. Here's some things to look out for in the temple:

  • Collapsing floor at the very first bit, don't fall in here, spikes will insta kill you
  • When you get a little bit into the temple the walls will close on you unexpectedly, don't get caught in here you don't have enough time to run through it at first. Run a bit forward and then when you see the walls run back, once the walls start to close run through them.
  • The 2nd set of moving walls are just slightly ahead of the first, this time you will see a box though, grab that and push it in with you through the walls, the box will prevent the walls from crushing you. Bring it all the way along with you.
  • The puzzle room, there's a tiger on the bottom floor but he isn't too dangerous. Be careful when climbing the gears not to fall!
  • The quick time sequence, do not fail this! The buttons are easy to press and you have plenty of time to press them.
  • Weird pole swinging room, be careful to climb down to the floor. Don't just jump down as you'll lose lots of health. There's a tiger at the bottom so watch out!

The trophy will pop just as your about to leave the temple and make the jump to the helicopter

07.jpg Gooooooooooooooooooooooooal! (B)

Kick the soccer ball against the door of the church in Peru

This trophy occurs during level 2 (Peru), as soon as you start the level you will see a football/soccer ball just in front of you. Start kicking it towards (with :triangle:) the large archway. Kick it through this archway first then you walk through the arch, this will trigger a cutscene. Now you'll be in a courtyard and you get ambushed by some mercenaries, kill them all. Now you have time to play some football, the ball should be around the archway you kicked it through. Directly opposite this archway you will see a church with quite a lot of steps leading to it, now you have to do the agonising task of kicking it up these stairs. Once that's done you've got the worst of it over. Now kick it at the wooden door. You will know if you've done it as you hear a voice saying "Goooooal"!

08.jpg Kill (With) Your Television (B)

Kill an enemy with a TV monitor

During level 3 (Tokyo) as soon as you've done the annoying part where you can only walk you'll get attacked by the Yakuza. You will notice in the middle of the room is a pillar with 4 TVs on each side. To earn the trophy one of these TVs needs to fall onto one of the enemies. To do this, line up one of them under the TV (You can grapple them to make it easier by pressing :square:) then run back until you can see the option to press :triangle: to knock the TV down. It will fall straight away and hopefully land on one of the enemies. Don't worry if you miss first time as there's 4 TVs to shoot down. NOTE: The trophy will pop upon entering the elevator! It won't pop straight away.

09.jpg THERE ARE FOUR LIGHTS (B)

Shoot out the 4 flood lights in the water wheel room in level 4

During level 4 (Africa) you will reach a very large room about 1/4 into the level, there is water wheels on both sides of the room. There's many enemies in here and a few on the turrets. Kill all of them first. Now look around the room for 4 floodlights, most are situated in the corners of the room and on the higher level. To shoot them out just manual aim and shoot at the light and it will go out. It doesn't matter if the enemies destroyed any if them as it still counts. Click the :r3: to manual aim. As soon as you destroy the forth light the trophy will unlock.

10.jpg Go for the Gold (B)

Collect 1 gold reward

If you have been following the guide and roadmap accordingly you will unlock this during the first level (Bolivia).

See Gold Hoarder for a complete guide

11.jpg A Bigger Bang (B)

Kill 2 enemies by detonating a fuel tank

Same as out with a bang but this time two enemies need to die instead of one. Here's the method, The first place you will encounter fuel tanks are during level 2 (Peru). When you reach the courtyard at the very first part of the mission look to your right upon entering, there's one next to some boxes. If you kick the fuel tank up (away from the truck) a bit and then deal with the enemies. Once You've killed the first wave 2 guys will run out the doors right by the fuel tank, you will definitely be able to kill one, maybe both. To explode a fuel tank look towards it holding :l1: and you will see a :triangle: prompt above it, press :triangle: when ready. There's another tank by the truck in the same courtyard if you mess up. If you don't get it this time there's plenty more chances during this level and level 5.

12.jpg Superior Firepower (B)

Complete Level 3 without using the dual pistols

This trophy is on level 3 (Tokyo). You need to complete the whole level without even shooting your pistols. A very easy way to do this is wait until you have the cheat for the assault rifle from doing one of the time trials. Now enter the cheat, you will now have the assault rifle equipped. Keep this out throughout the whole level. Trophy will pop in the boss fight room. If you want to get this the first time you're on this level then you will have to melee the enemies and take their guns off of them. You must watch your ammo count though because as soon as you run out of ammo it will automatically switch you to the pistols. Note: If you die during the level your pistols will be automatically put back to your primary weapon and they will also go back to primary after the motorbike jump too. So make sure you switch back to the rifle!

13.jpg Biggest Bang for the Buck (B)

Blow up 2 mercenaries with 1 propane tank while riding the motorcycle

GLITCHED: Sometimes you will successfully blow up two mercenaries but the trophy doesn't unlock. The only way to really get around this is to keep trying. It will pop eventually.

Not the hardest trophy in the game as many say but the most annoying trophy in the game. You will first encounter riding a motorbike during level 2 in Peru. When you're on the bike you will see propane tanks on the right hand side of the track etc. You need to press :l1: to pull one of your pistols out then :triangle: when you get the prompt to explode them and kill two enemies with the explosion. This is sheer luck as most the time you will kill both of them but what usually happens is one of the enemies will fly into the other enemy and kill him. That can't happen, both enemies need to be killed by the explosion. After you cross the broken bridge where zip is shouting WOAH, WOOHOO, you will be ambushed by 4 motorbikes at once. Just ahead you will see a propane tank, press :l1: to aim and then :triangle: to explode the tank. Try and get it so there's an enemy on either side of the tank. Don't drive so fast either, if you go slow so will the enemies. If you don't get it at first then kill yourself to reload the checkpoint. If you don't get this first time don't worry, and if its getting too annoying for you then just continue with the level. You may get it when doing the time trial for either bike scene levels. The trophy will unlock while your on the bike, soon after you blow up 2 enemies.

This can be a real pain in the timetrial but I never experienced this glitch, but just to warn you it can happen.

21.jpg Survival of the Fittest (B) (H)

Survive against Rutland for more than 5 minutes

During level 4 (Africa) at the end of the level you have to fight James Rutland. This is easier than it sounds and can even be done on Tomb Raider difficulty. An easy way to do this is to stay locked onto him with :l1: and keep rolling away from him with :circle:, when he does his charging attack run away. Don't start pulling the platforms down with your grapple just yet, just dodge him. You have to manually count the time as there isn't a timer but once you've been dodging him for 5mins the trophy will unlock. This is very boring as 5mins is a long time as he doesn't even take half of that to kill. The trophy will unlock during the fight.

You don't have to listen to the story before pressing the next one. After you go through the drawbridge there will be 3 more speakers, press each one. To hear the final part of the tale pull the 2nd sword from the stone and the trophy will unlock.

38.jpg You Got the Silver (S)

Collect all silver rewards

There are 39 Silver rewards in the game.

If you've been following the guide and roadmap accordingly you will unlock this during the croft manor level.

See Gold Hoarder for a complete guide

39.jpg A Job Well Done (S)

Complete the game on Explorer or Adventurer difficulty

Story Related and cannot be missed

Will unlock after completing the final level. It's a really short level and only Involves a boss fight. Look in the spoiler for more info on the best way to beat the boss.

Spoiler

If you want a super easy way to do this level then see this thread:

http://www.ps3trophies.org/forum/tomb-raider-legend/117877-final-boss-advice-hard-mode-quick-guide-all-those-unanswered-questions.html

The final level is back in Bolivia, you only have to fight the thing (Amanda). You get to use the sword and it's pretty simple, however on hard it's brutal.

First of all you have to take out all the enemies on the round platform, use the sword. Now kill all but 1 enemy; now go around and pick up all the available health packs. You will now have them for the final fight. Kill the last few enemies to trigger a cutscene.

You now have to kill that weird thing. You have to make sure you don't get hit by it as it deals loads of damage. Make sure you don't get any splash damage from the sword as this hurts you. When you have hurt the thing enough it will fall to the floor, you now must go up to it and press repeat this 4 times and on the 4th time it will die.

Consult the video listed under have a good time all the time for a walkthrough.

40.jpg The Hard Way (G)

Complete the game on Tomb Raider difficulty

NOTE: This game isn't like TR: Anniversary where if you replay a level you won't unlock the hard trophy, you can replay as many levels in time trial as you like. Just make sure you complete all the levels on hard though.

If you played the game from start to finish on tomb raider difficulty then this trophy will unlock upon completing the final level (Bolivia Redux). There aren't many places in the game that will cause you much trouble, the only level I found hard was the final boss fight. I've included tips on how to beat it in the spoiler below:

Here's some general tips:

- Use Cover

You can't really cover that well in this game but you can still hide behind objects. The main enemy you'll be facing in this game are humans unfortunately so it's not as fun and it makes things harder.

- Auto Lock On (:l1:)

This makes the game so much easier, you can just lock onto enemies and tap the trigger (so you don't get recoil), this is really useful in situations which involve many enemies.

- Med kits

Save these, only use them when you health is less than half. A full med pack will nearly put you health all the way up while a small med kit puts about a quarter up. Remember to always have some on you!

- Traps

On hard most of these are one hit kill which can be really annoying, especially in England as the whole level is riddled with them! Try your best to avoid them as much as you can.

- Roll (:circle:)

This is really useful, you can just run around rolling about and avoid gunfire completely, to roll press while moving.

41.jpg Gold Hoarder (G)

Collect all gold rewards

NOTE: You must finish the level(s) when you collect awards, you can't just save and quit. If you do happen to have saved then quit and the trophy hasn't unlocked at the end of getting all the treasures then you need to play any level again and it will pop.

Another handy tip is the PDA, you can bring it up by pressing :select:. This shows you all the available awards within the level you're on and how many you have of bronze, silver and gold in that level.

There's 8 gold rewards to collect across the story and Croft Manor, they are hidden very well so use the videos below to find each one. The videos below also show the locations of all Bronze and Silver awards. Make sure you follow these videos as you play to make sure you don't miss any. 42.jpg Have a Good Time All the Time (G)

Complete all levels while in Time Trial mode

For this trophy you have to complete these levels successfully under the given time, they are really easy so don't worry about them. I finished the majority of them with minutes to spare. For more tips see the roadmap.

Level 1: Bolivia

Level 2: Peru

Level 3: Japan

Level 4: Ghana

Level 5: Kazakhstan

Level 6: England

Level 7: Nepal

See the according trophies within this guide (Good time on levels 1 - 7) for a very handy speedrun video which will show you how to do the puzzles as quick as you can etc.

You also have to complete the final boss time trial which is on the level Bolivia Redux, its par time is 4mins something but that is easily obtainable. It's a lot easier to kill the thing on time trial mode than it is on hard, here's a video for it anyway. Credit to nextgenwalkthroughs for the vid:

No problem :). Also, I've found some typos:

GLITCHED: Sometimes you will successfully blow up two mercenaries but the trophy doesnt unlock. The only way to really get around thos is to keep trying. It will pop eventualy

The bolded bits should say "doesn't", "this" and "eventually."

Are there any bugs or glitches I should be aware of before I start playing and are the saves locked like the one for Underworld is?

About the saves, ill check up on that and get back to you. But im sure there not locked.

As for bugs, theres a few:

- Biggest bang for the buck: Doesnt always unlock upon completing the trophy descriprion

- Nepal level: You sometimes get locked in the final room (You dont have the specific 'tool' to get out which you should) if you die at the checkpoint. Theres no way to really get around this

- England level: The elevator at the end sonetimes doesnt spawn at all! Which can be annoying on the timetrial. To get around this, kill yourself and it should spawn. All the 'boss' on this level is glitchy. You cant always grapple the levers you want to grapple (youll aim at one it will go to another). To get around this tilt the camera around so you can only see the kever you want.

Thats all i can think of and thats probaly all of them.

Anymore questions you got ill answer :)

No problem, I would say "just helping you help me" but I went ahead & did those 2 chapters with the help of youtube instead of waiting lol. Your guide still helped me besides those 2 chapters though, so thanks.

That stupid glitch on the final boss pissed me off!. I wanted to beat it on hard so much but I just kept dying randomly like everyone else has reported happening. So I finally gave in & beat her on easy, beat the England time trial & turned on the bulletproof cheat code. So annoying, I wasted an hour trying to beat that stupid boss on hard before saying screw it.

It took me about half an hour to beat it, i just made sure i kept my distance as it would always go mental if you got too close

Yeah but see that's the thing, I tried EVERYTHING. I tried being as far away as possible, standing right infront of him, staying away from any object that would cause the sword to somehow hit me, staying away from ledges so I wouldn't magically fly off, spamming R1, slowly hitting R1, I would always just randomly die. I wasn't about to waste any more time trying to beat a GLITCHED boss that is so easy on hard difficulty without the awful glitch.
