Boosting tutorial

Before I start: EXP and XP is the same thing. So please don't get confused with that one.

Why do we need a boosting tutorial, it's obvious what to do right?

Well yes... only this game actually has a bunch of hidden tricks and tips to make boosting a lot easier that not a lot of people know about.

Over the last 3 weeks, a couple of people including myself have been doing several experiments with the online game and we've devised a number of ways to boost the XP in this game so a single player can come out of a match with at least 10,000 XP, and in some cases a single player can come out of a match with nerly 30,000 XP.

However, before you get excited, there are certain restrictions that the game places on what you can get and luck also plays a factor.

The basics:

The game has two different scoring systems. You are rewarded both at the end of a match for the 'match points' and 'exp.' The two are not the same and they contribute to different trophies.

Match points.

Match points contribute to the game type trophies, e.g. No I in Team, typically you don't need to boost these, so long as you play the different game types you'll get them. Match points are normally rewarded for G Action kills, capturing flags, securing bases (king of the hill) and killing the person carrying the flag.

XP gained from these actions is normally small.

EXP

EXP is awarded for pretty much every action, however, XP gains are usually very small unless you take into account the hidden multipliers that will give you a huge bonus.

Ever come out of a match and notice you had around 3000 match points, but only 1000 XP? Thats because you did a lot of actions, but didn't get many multipliers.

EXP bonus' can be given for the following.

Dual kills.

Explosive kills.

Head shots.

First kill of the match.

Defense bonus (king of the Hill).

killing a flag carrier.

Unconfirmed bonus XPs would be for things like returning a captured flag and securing a king of the hill base.

Chaining

The game has a chaining system based on your attacks, in fact it has two chaining systems.

* Kills without dying, If you can get X number of kills in a row without dying, you'll get a bonus XP reward, typically it will say something like "Captain," "Major," "Warrior" or if you're very lucky "General" Each with it's own reward (General rank gives you 1000XP bonus).

* Chaining kills. Chaining kills are kills you get within a short time frame. You can die and still maintain your chaining kill streak. The chaining streak is somewhere in the region of 10 seconds from your last kill, but it seems to vary depending on your weapon and the number of enemies in the game.

There are 10 chaining ranks before it maxes out, however once you max out, it'll give you a bonus of 500XP per kill from that moment... So for your 11th, 12th, 13th etc kill you'll get a bonus of 500XP regardless of how you killed the other player.

So in a Deathmatch where the kill limit is capped at 20 kills, you can get a bonus of 5000XP for only 10 kills, not including the standard kill XP and any headshots and XP gained during the first 10 kills.

How to get over 10,000 XP in one Deathmatch game.

This method works best with 2 players. There are a variety of methods to do it but this would appear to be the best one.

Map: 2 (the construction site one).

The person killing.

Equip: A sniper rifle

Perk 1: Brawler (if you have it, if not gunsmith)

Perk 2: Jugganaught

Perk 3: Reincarnator (doesn't really matter)

The victim:

Equip: A sniper rifle (so theres a lot of ammo around for the person boosting)

Perk 1: Blank.

Perk 2: Blank.

Perk 3: Reincarnator (VERY IMPORTANT!)

Method: The best place to stand is by the stairs near the 'front area', when the game starts the players meet here and the person boosting punches the other player to death.

once dead, the person boosting goes back to the front area (reason being is that he gets a good view of the front and the scaffolding area).

If you have mics, it's best for the victim to say where he is.

e.g. "Back area" "Scaffolding" "Front area" "Pit"

If you don't have mics. When the second player respawns, he MUST fire his weapon so he appears on the other players radar, the players then run towards each other. Depending on his level, the person boosting should either punch or get a sniper headshot kill.

You then repeat this process until you finish. Remember, speed is crucial otherwise you'll loose out on the chaining bonus which gives you the big XP bonus.

For 20 punch kills, you get 10,275 XP

For 20 sniper kills, you're looking at around 9,300XP.

Note: If you have a brawler skill, you can kill any player with 1 hit and you get more XP for a punch kill than you do for a sniper headshot, but a sniper headshot kill gives you more XP than any other kill except for a punch kill.

If you don't have brawler, it's more risky as you risk loosing your chaining bonus.

Get 24,000 & 28,000 XP in a deathmatch

(Can only be done with at least 3 or 4 players (chances are you won't get many more players in your group))

So then, that kill limit.... bit of a pain isn't it, oh wouldn't life be grand if it were... removed?

Well... there is a way to reset your 'match points' so you can get more kills in a deathmatch.

If you pause the game, you'll see an option called "Give up," every time you select this, your character dies and you loose 100 match points... giving you 1 extra chance to kill someone... whilst your match points reduce, YOUR XP DOES NOT! Meaning you can get say 19 kills in a row, then 'give up' 19 times. Allowing you to get another 19 kills and all those bonus XP gains you got previously...

So say you got 9000XP for 19 kills (including your chaining Bonus). Then picked give up option 19 times. You can gain another 9000XP on top of that when you start a new kill streak.

With 4 people in your group, so long as you communicate well you can get 3*19 kill streaks with ease.

Get over 30,000 XP in a Team Deathmatch

This has not been tested yet... but can work.

You need 4 people or else the match won't start. The player boosting doesn't ever choose the "Give up option" But his partner does. If the partner gives up, the match points reduce for that team by 100, meaning that the person boosting NEVER looses his chaining streak or his kills in a row. Meaning he'll continuously get 500 Bonus XP per kill and continue to get General ranks ((1000 bonus XP) it triggers at around 30 kills in a row without dying) without needing to kill himself by the give up option.

He can do this for the full 10 min of the match and not worry about dying or any kill limit.

The give up part of this method definately works, however we've never been able to keep a room open for long enough without a random player joining to find out how much XP you could get. But from our experiments in DeathMatch over 30,000 is a very good estimation.

The Team Deathmatch method can also be done on a King of the Hill and a Capture the Flag, but you're more likely to get random people joining in those games and theres no 'quick finish' if it goes wrong.

notes

If random people join, there is nothing you can do until you get back to the lobby. You need to then kick them from the room. If you do that, they cannot get back into the room. Unless you shut the room down they can never re-join it.

Random people will enter the game, deal with it, it gets better over time as you kick people, but people will join.

DON'T USE G-ACTION! G Action kills count as 2 kills due to them giving you double the match points, never use a G-action kill.... unless... unless random people join and kill the person boosting. Use G-action kills to finish the game quickly and then boot the people who are not apart of the group.

If you accidentally boot someone in the boosting group... you must restart the room, they cannot get back in. (I have not checked to see if restarting your PS3 will get around a room kick, so you might want to check that one out).

BEWARE THE LAST RESORT GLITCH!

There appears to be a glitch that affects a number of users, sometimes if a player has had the last resort perk equipted, even if they remove it, they will still drop a grenade on their first death.

They will only ever drop one on their first death, but it can bugger up the process if you are a rank 1-10 player.

Hope that this helps some people.
