Walkthrough

Step 1: Starting off.

When you start the game for the first time, my advice is to go directly to play a single 18 Hole Play Now round. You can use it to get to grips with the new swing mechanics, and with the right settings, you can start the ball off and get a bunch of early trophies.

Set up a game off the red tees in St. Andrews in fine calm weather. Using Tiger with a few added boost pins, play the course making sure to hit all the fairways and greens in regulation. You can also use this round to try to get the 40ft putt out of the way. With care its possible to get a nice stack of trophies to start you off.

See: Tigers have FIR, That was GIRrrreat!, From the Ladies Tees, It's all in the Hips, Like a Homing Pigeon and Can you give me a Boost?

Step 2: Tiger Legacy Challenges

Your next step should be to play through the Tiger Legacy Challenges. You will get a trophy for clearing each section of Tigers development in turn, as well as having a few opportunities to pick up a few extra trophies along the way. You will also unlock all of the Toddler golfers in this mode.

Make sure to take a look at the entries for No Handouts Please, Shouting at Amen Corner, So Much Easier than Putting and Like a Metronome before you start into it.

Step 3: Career Mode

The Career mode is very linear, so that once you keep winning, you won't be able to avoid picking up each trophy in turn. This is particularly true of the start, where through your amateur competitions you will get a trophy after almost every round. After winning the Masters as an amateur, you will get the chance to join the PGA Tour.

From here your goal is to keep winning until you hit the rank of World Number 1. Once that has been achieved, you will want to concentrate on getting to and winning the Masters every year. Staying in in the Top 100 is key to making the grade from year to year. So you will have to play enough of the events to guarantee this. In all, you will have to win the Masters 7 times.

Step 4: Country Club | Online

There are a selection of online trophies in the game, most of which you can get on your own without any real bother. A couple however require a bit of help. Both Play Date and Internal Conflict require help from others to pull off. To find that help, check out the Boosting Thread.

The others can be done randomly, once you have completed the Tiger Legacy Challenges and gotten the Toddlers you need.

Step 5: Course Mastery & Clean-Up

The Course Mastery mini-challenges are pretty easy to fulfill within 5 or 6 rounds of each course. With 16 courses to master, this adds up a bit. But the great thing about the way the game is set up is that you will have been working on them with every round you have played in the Career and Legacy modes. With a little planning, you should be able to work your way through the courses one by one. After you master a course, try to avoid it if possible in favour of those still left to do. Work your way through them, and you should get the bulk of the heavy lifting done without really trying.

Once finished all the other modes, concentrate on polishing them off in Play Now mode, and picking up any other trophies left outstanding.

Pro Gamer (P)

Congratulations for unlocking all trophies in Tiger Woods PGA TOUR® 13!

As with every Platinum trophy, this one will pop once you unlock all the other trophies.

Going Green with a Hybrid (B)

Land on the green from over 175 yards away using a Hybrid

This one is straight forward enough. The first thing you have to do is make sure there is a Hybrid in your bag. I switched out my 5 Wood for a 4H, or 4 Hybrid. To do this, go to:

My Golfer > In the Bag.

From there, you can either go to directly try to make the shot, or do what I did and play on normally to get the trophy more organically. You will play this shot many, many times over the course of the game. So once you have a Hybrid in the bag, just play away and get a nice surprise when it pops.

Live from your couch (B)

Play in a Live Tournament

You will get this trophy as soon as you enter any of the available tournaments in the Online section of the menu. It will pop as soon as you enter, so you don’t have to actually play the whole round if you don’t want to.

Tigers have FIR (B)

Complete an 18 hole round with a 100 percent FIR.

FIR = Fairway in Regulation

This one is pretty easy once you set up your round properly. I got it in the very first round I played, along with That was GIRrrreat, From the Ladies Tees and Can You Give Me a Boost. I’d advise you to also try to get all of these in one go.

Go to Play Now, and set up an 18 Hole Strokeplay with the following settings:

Course: St. Andrews

Tees: Red

Weather: Sunny

Wind: Calm

St Andrews has very large and forgiving fairways and greens, which should make it easier to make sure you hit every one. The key for getting all Fairways In Regulation is to be conservative. You do not need to Birdie or Eagle holes. In fact the score does not matter at all. Aim for the widest sections of fairway available, well away from any bunkers, water or rough. If you have to drop own a club or two to be safe, do so. Because you are playing off the Red tees, distance shouldn’t be a problem.

Your FIR’s are marked on the scorecard after each hole, so you can keep track of your progress. Par 3’s don’t count towards this stat though, so don’t worry if you see those blank.

That was GIRrrreat!(B)

Complete an 18 hole round with a 100 percent GIR.

GIR = Green in Regulation

This one is pretty easy once you set up your round properly. I got it in the very first round I played, along with Tigers Have FIR, From the Ladies Tees and Can You Give Me a Boost. I’d advise you to also try to get all of these in one go.

You do not need to Birdie or Eagle holes. In fact the score does not matter at all. Aim for the widest sections of fairway available, well away from any bunkers, water or rough. This should make your approach shots easy. Because you are playing off the Red tees, distance shouldn’t be a problem.

Hitting a Green In Regulation means hitting it within a certain amount of shots depending on the holes par. On a Par 5, you have to be on the green within 3 shots or less. On a Par 4, its 2 shots or less. And on a Par 3, you have to make the green with your first shot. A little spin can generally save an errant shot. But if you are having trouble, stick to aiming at the centre / widest part of the green. Ignore the pin, as the score does not matter.

Your GIR’s are marked on the scorecard after each hole, so you can keep track of your progress. All holes count towards the stat.

No Handouts Please (B)

Actually get a hole in 1 in the 1982 First Hole in One event in Tiger Legacy Challenge

This is the final Toddler Tiger challenge, and what you are looking for is a straight hole out. This is actually not too as hard to achieve as you may think. Here are a few tips:

- Firstly, switch to a 3 Iron. The 5 Iron you start with is not enough club for the shot.

- Tweek your aim by judging the wind. For 0 wind, its almost dead straight. For a side on wind of 6 or 7, allow almost a whole grid box on the green for the ball to move in the air. Use you own judgement.

- Add some top spin in the air. (Push up on the Right Stick). You will have to spin the ball a little to get it to chase up the green to the pin. It does not need a whole lot, just enough to get it there.

- Ideally, try to have it arrive at the flag with enough pace to go about a yard or two beyond it. That’s fast enough to get there, but slow enough for the pin to accept the ball without it pinging off.

This one shouldn’t take too long to pull off. Use the tips above, and use small alterations to tweak your shots ever closer.

Shouting at Amen Corner (S)

Complete Amen Corner (Augusta 11,12,13) with a birdie or better on each in a single round

Amen Corner is the infamous set of three holes starting the back nine at Augusta National. A Par 4 followed by a Par 3, followed by a Par 5: all guarded by water hazards.

You will have to play through this stretch of holes a couple of dozen times while going through Career Mode and the Tiger Legacy Challenges. So you will ample opportunities to make a birdie run through the ‘Corner’.

My advice is to wait until you get to the 2013 Masters challenge in Tiger Legacy mode. In it, you have to go 4 under through those three holes to pass. That’s two birdies and an eagle. Pass the challenge, and you will also get this trophy.

Like a Boss (G)

Master 16 Courses

Courses are mastered by completing mini-challenges on them while playing through the game. They involve hitting certain totals for Eagles, Birdies, Pars, GIR, FIR, etc… You should be able to make a large dent in the bulk of the challenges for the available courses by just playing through Legacy Challenges and the Career mode.

Handily, you are given 16 courses with unlimited plays from the start of the game. So you can ignore all the 'DLC' courses, and save your coins for pins and other stuff. It will take around 6 full rounds on each course to clear all the challenges. The last one on the list is generally the 100 Pars Or Better challenge, as by then the rest will more than likely have been completed.

You can complete course mastery challenges in Career, Tiger Legacy, Online and in Play Now.

Important: You will have to be online for the course mastery stats to accumulate and register. This means you will need an Online Pass to access this trophy, and will have to be logged into the EA Servers while playing for the stats to register. Thanks to Snaddef for checking this out.

Mastery Tips:

- Make sure you are online and connected to the EA Servers before trying to complete any challenges.

- Avoid all hazards. Always make an effort to stick to the fairway, and try to hit the greens in regulation. You will have quotas to fill.

- Try to birdie everything. You should be able to birdie at least 2 out of every 3 holes without much problem. Scores stack, so birdies add to the count for both birdies and pars. The same applies to eagles.

- Don’t worry about eagles. Have a go if and when you can. But you only need 5 per course. They will tend to come naturally. If you are having trouble getting these, switch to the Red Tees.

- Use the substitute course function in Career mode to buff the courses you have yet to clear while working towards the No.1 spot in the rankings. You should not be skipping any competitions until you have unlocked all the Career Ranking trophies.

- Concentrate on the 16 available Unlimited Play courses. You only need to master 16 courses, so don’t waste your time and coins on the dlc courses.

- You can check your progress in the Course Mastery menu, or in the Course Select on the Play Now menu. Check it before each round so you know what to shoot for.

So Much Easier than Putting (S)

Make a hole in one

You will probably make a couple of these shots while playing towards the Platinum. But if you are in a hurry, there is an easy method of getting it out of the way.

In Tiger Legacy mode, enter the first Toddler Challenge: 1978 First Television Appearance. Complete the first putting section to get to the net. Right in the centre of the net, there is a hole. It’s hard to see, but it’s there. Do not move the aim marker left or right. Leave it lined up where it starts. Then push it out forward as far as the base of the net. Taking a full shot should now put the ball through the hole and net you a hole in one.

A strange way to get a whole in one, but it does work. Credit: meds.

Don't quit your day job (B)

Win the Masters as an amateur

This will be the fourth tournament you get to play in during the amateur section at the start of career mode. You can gain entry to the Masters as an Amateur by winning the British, American or World Amateur Championship, depending on which one you enter.

If you are worried about winning, play on Amateur difficulty. You will not have the ability to spin the ball in the Masters, but take a little more care with your shots and you should still win this easily enough.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1315/53F.jpg

It's all in the Hips (B)

Sink a 40ft putt

You should not have to try for this one, as it will likely come naturally over the course of normal play. If you would like to get it out of the way though, go to St Andrews – Hole 9. It has a large fairly flat green, so knocking in a 40+ foot putt should be easy enough. Some of you are having problems with the putting system, so here are a few tips:

Putting Tips:

- ‘Guesstimate!’ Before you do anything else, move the marker to where you think you should be aiming. Use the movement markers on the grid lines to get an idea of how much the ball will turn, and whether it will run past or pull up short. The closer you can get this to where it should be, the easier it will be to perfect.

- Next use the putt preview. If you are not a good putter, ALWAYS use the putt preview, no matter how short the putt is. It’s is a free look at exactly what the ball will do, so take advantage of it. If you have made a decent effort of ‘guesstimating’ the right line, you should now see how you can tweak it to line up with the hole.

- Try to be smooth when taking the shot. It is important to keep the ‘stroke’ reasonably straight when putting, so as not to mess with the line. As for timing, use a two count: pull back – push forward. 1 – 2.

- On longer putts, the backswing will take a little longer, but always follow through at the same speed, regardless of whether a putt is 5 inches or 50 feet.

- You will hit the Perfect backswing length for a putt just before or when it just begins to turn red. Try not to overshoot or undercut this window.

- ALWAYS make sure that the ball has enough power to go past the hole. That will mean you always have a chance of getting the putt. Short putts never end well.

- Some people like to draw back very slowly on putts. You should try this out, but be warned that getting the proper follow-through speed can be tricky if the swing is out of rhythm.

- If you find that you still need a little more help, you can always press :triangle: to get some advice from your caddie. He will give you a heads up on where to aim. Credit to Blessorship.

Like a Homing Pigeon (B)

From the Fairway, land within 1 yard of the flagstick from 150 yards out

Practically unmissable. Odds are you will do this many, many times over the course of normal play. If you are having trouble, employ a little spin to ease the ball in close.

I Own this Place (S)

Defend your title in any Major

Your first opportunity to defend a Major will be your first Masters as a pro, returning after winning it as an amateur. Just make sure to get your world ranking high enough to qualify for the competition as it comes around again.

If you are having problems, drop the gameplay difficulty to Amateur.

Play Date (B)

Play a Four Player online match with all players using toddlers

In order to get this trophy, you will need the help of three other players. Obviously, you all have to have a toddler unlocked to use. These are awarded as prizes in Tiger Legacy Mode.

Get all four of you together with each plating as a toddler, and this trophy is yours. You don't even have to play out the match, as the trophy should unlock once you get onto the first tee-box.

To find like minded players, head to the Boosting Thread.

Can you give me a Boost? (B)

Play an 18 hole round with Boost Pins equipped

I got this in the very first round I played, along with Tigers Have FIR, From the Ladies Tees and That Was GIRrrreat!. I’d advise you to also try to get all of these in one go.

Go to Play Now, and set up an 18 Hole Strokeplay. Before starting, make sure to add any three of the pins to your tag. From memory, there will be four or five different ones available. When you finish the round, the trophy will pop.

Dig Deep (S)

Land within 1 yard of the flagstick from a bunker

Another trophy you can pretty much forget about, as you will more than likely get it without trying. But if in a hurry, start aiming for greenside bunkers. Remember that all chips and pitches from inside 50 yards or so will over shoot their target marker by default. So always aim a little bit short of where you think.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1315/BE6.jpg

He's going the distance (G)

Hit a drive over 400 yards

This is another trophy that should come in time. But if you are in a hurry, head to a hole with plenty of fairway which heads downhill off the tee. For a few good candidates, look below. In the settings, put the wind to Gale Force, and set the course to be hard and fast.

The Setup I Used:

Course: Augusta National

Hole Select: Hole 2 and Hole 15 only

Tees: Red

Wind: Gale Force

Conditions: Fast

The trick is to get the Gale Force wind directly behind you as you drive. It may take a few restarts to get it setup right. The wind will give you a power boost. Having two holes per attempt will increase your odds of getting a nice rear-wind. Use spin and the downslope to gain even more distance. Also, adding a little draw to your shot will add a little extra distance. A fade however will cut your distance a little. You can also equip a few pins to boost your driver and golfer stats if you want. Get it all right, and 400+ yards can be reached.

You can try this with Tiger, Dustin Johnson, Bubba Watson or your own Pro if his stats are high enough. If you leave this until after you finish Career mode, he should be even better than the pro's. Also, you may unlock this naturally in the meantime without really trying.

Like a Metronome (B)

Complete 10 perfect Tempo Swings with TOUR Pro Difficulty or better

This trophy has been causing a few issues for people. Although it says ‘Tempo’ swing in the description, it actually has to have both a perfect backswing and tempo. That means it has to read ‘Perfect’ on both the top and bottom of the indicator on the left. Also, it can indicate a Green swing (Green for good) while saying Fast on the Tempo section. So ignore the colour bar, and keep an eye on the words only.

You can go for this in any mode, once you are playing on Tour Pro difficulty. If you are lucky enough to have the Collector’s Edition, you will have access to the Practice Range where you can hit balls without having to reload. But actually pulling off the shots can take a fair bit of time / luck. I have an easier way that everyone has access to.

My Method:

Go to the last challenge in the Toddler section of Tiger Legacy mode: 1982 First Hole in One. The toddler golfers have a modified swing model that makes it nearly impossible to ‘over-swing’ and makes hitting a perfect tempo swing easier.

On the backswing, make as full a swing as you can. While you can still ‘under-swing’, I found it nearly impossible to ‘over-swing’. So by trying to max out the backswing, you can pretty much guarantee a ‘perfect’, so you are already halfway there.

On the downswing, again give it a liberal amount of power. It is pretty much the same as the follow through for a full size golfer, but again over-swinging is a bit harder to do, making hitting that ‘perfect’ a fair bit easier than in normal play.

You get 5 attempts for this challenge. If you have not got any ‘perfect’ swings by your last attempt, reload the challenge. But if you do get a few, make sure to finish the challenge so that they save. I managed to get my ten done by playing through the challenge only 3 or 4 times.

Warning: Putt’s don’t seem to count towards the total, and all ten of the perfect swings have to be done in one game session. If you quit out to the XMB, the count is reset when you restart the game.

Check out my Custom Settings (B)

Complete an 18 hole round using a Custom Difficulty

This is an easy trophy. Go to the Game Settings menu. To change the difficulty to Custom, you have to alter a setting or two. If say it’s on amateur, simply set the spin setting to off. You will see Custom appear in the difficulty box. Save and exit.

Now all you have to do is go and play an 18 Hole round. Once you finish, this trophy is yours.

I Finally Belong! (B)

Create or Join a Country Club in Game

To create or join a Country Club, simply go to the Country Club menu and follow the instructions.

Unless you have a few mates lined up to join you, I would advise you joining an established club. You will need a few others to help you out with some of the other trophies.

To find like minded players, try the Boosting Thread.

Members Only (B)

Play in a Country Club Tournament

Once you join a Country Club, you will have the opportunity to enter in club tournaments. The Admin or founder of each club has the ability to set up different tournaments that can be accessed through the Country Club menu's.

The default tournaments automatically generated tend to be locked to the higher end of the club member rankings. In order to enter them, you will have to earn enough XP to reach a certain tier of the club in the previous weeks play: Assistant Pro, Pro or Champion.

If the Admin of your club is not available to set up competitions, you can always set up your own club in which you can then setup your own tournaments on your own and get the trophy that way. Thanks to neahcrow for the confirmation. Alternatively, clubs can have up to 5 Admins, so make sure there is always someone around who can make sure lower level members have somewhere to play.

To access the Country Club menu's, stats and admin online, follow this link:

I Need a Commitment (B)

Earn a Four Day loyalty Bonus

Once you become the member of a Country Club, you will have to opportunity to add XP to that club, growing it and moving it up the rankings. All completed rounds and challenges will add XP to the Club. As a general rule, if you get XP or coins for anything, then your Club will also get XP.

To get this trophy, you have to play the game four days in a row, earning at least a few XP each day. You can view your progress in the Country Club menu. The trophy will unlock on the fourth day.

Internal Conflict (S)

Compete with a teammate in a head-to-head match launched from the Clubhouse lobby

This is where having a few mates in your club comes in handy. Arrange to meet up in the Club Lobby. Invite the other member/members to join you in a match. Once it starts, the trophy should pop.

See Also: Play Date.

Putt from the rough (B)

Make a putt from the rough

This one is easy enough once you know where to try to get it. In Play Now, set up a Strokeplay game in Pebble Beach using the following settings:

Hole Select: Custom Select

Tees: Red

Flagstick Select: Easy

Course Speed: Fast

Second Cut: Short

After everything is set, press the Submit Button to go to the Hole Select screen. You want the 12th, a short par 3 surrounded by rough on three sides. The pin should be in the centre of the green near the back edge. Your aim is to put the ball in the rough just off the green behind it. Take a few shots to set it up if needed. The ball should be in the rough, but within a foot of the edge of the strip of fairway. Press down on the left stick to check your lie to make sure it is indeed in the rough.

Now it is just a matter of making the putt. It should be almost straight. If it is going to turn, it will go a little left to right. Aim a cup to the left, and then use the preview button. Adjust as necessary.

One Small Step for Mankind (B)

Win the Green Jacket in Career Mode

You will get your first crack at this playing as an amateur after winning whichever Amateur Championship you decide to enter. On the lower difficulties, you will have no problem blowing away the field.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1315/496.jpg

Unstoppable! (B)

Win the Green Jacket for a Record 7 times in Career Mode

When you first enter Career mode, you goal should be to reach No.1 in the EA Rankings. Once you do this, you only have to maintain your rank within the EA SPORTS Top 100 to ensure your entry to the Masters the following year. You will now be able to skip events along the way, but do not skip more than one or two in a row without checking the leaderboards to make sure you are well within that cut line. Also, make sure to play in the Majors, as they will yield higher rankings than ordinary tournaments. Try to keep a decent buffer between you and those outside the Top 100 in the rankings for safety. If you skip too much, you will drop outside the top tier and miss out on that years tournament. Thanks to Dangles for the heads up.

My method was to skip from Major to Major (the first four 4-Star competitions), play them all, and win them all. If after the fourth Major, check your ranking. You want it to be around 40 to 50 at worst. If its higher, play a few of the FedEx Cup events to bring it down. If its low enough, skip to the start of the next year/season. It should still be in the 60's or better, so you can probably skip straight to the Masters again. Use your own judgement, and keep an eye on the stats. Rinse and repeat until you have your 7 Green Jackets.

To help make this go faster, you should cut down the rounds played in each event. You can do this in the Career Settings menu. One round per tournament is recommended.

As for actually winning the tournament, adjust the difficulty if you are having trouble.

SECRET TROPHIES

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1315/391.jpg

Swing and a miss (B)|(H)

Whiff the ball

You can do this on most shots. At setup, move the red crosshair indicator in the box on the right of the screen with the right stick. Push it up as high as it can go. Now when you take a shot, it should miss the ball entirely.

I wouldn’t try it in a competition though, as it counts as a shot taken.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1315/1FD.jpg

Child's Play (S)|(H)

Complete an 18 hole online head-to-head match with toddler Ricky

You can unlock Toddler Ricky by completing the Tiger Legacy Bonus Challenge called Young Gun Ricky Fowler. You will unlock the bonus challenges after completing the others.

Then all you have to do is head online for an 18 Hole match. The trophy will unlock once you finish.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1315/BBB.jpg

That was Easy (G)|(H)

Beat the course record of 63 at the Masters (In Career Mode)

During your attempt to win the Masters for the seven times needed, you will have to play the course at least 7 or 8 times. That’s plenty of time to do this one, so it shouldn’t be a problem. Get to know the course if you are having problems: height changes, which side of the green to hit to, where to avoid, etc. Be careful to avoid the water, particularly on Hole 12, 13 and 15.

And remember that rounds outside of the Career mode won't count.

A well written guide. Two things I caught- Going the Distance is a gold trophy and not a bronze. Also, the GM of each country club can create tournaments online at the EA sports tiger woods website. If you need the trophy you can create your own country club with just you, set up a tournament online. And then enter in the game (you just have to start the tournament- you don't have to play it). That is how I got the trophy.

Here is a link: EA SPORTS | Tiger Woods Country Clubs

I would suggest possibly linking to the thread about tiger legacy challenges. I offered some specific tips for some of the challenges and others have as well.

It's pretty gut-wrenching the time I put into this game and writing a strong trophy guide myself. I was holding off submitting it until I had the platinum. This happened to me on Grand Slam Tennis at well. I guess the lesson is just submit it early even if you're not finished with the game. I have yet to get a trophy guide in because of this, so maybe ill just try with obscure games.

Again. I don't mind in this case because this guide is well written, but it doesn't seem to go along with.the site rules.

Thanks for the clarification. He's Going the Distance is down as a Bronze in the trophy list on the main page, so was wrong when I copied over the list. I'll let the lads know and get it changed.

I had been holding out on setting up a new club just for the tournament trophy until I managed to rangle three of my current clubmates together for the Play Date trophy. I'll add in that it definitely works and add the link.

You do not have to have the game completely cleared and platinumed in order to have a guide ready for use. If that was the case, the likes of Warhawk would still be waiting for one. You should however have the bulk of the games trophies figured out and earned. With 70% of the trophies unlocked, and with only a few obvious career and online trophies left to tick off, that line has long been passed. And having been on the Guide Team for just shy of three years, I have a fair idea what I'm on about.

In future, if you can write a guide that is very near complete and correct, and have the majority of the trophies unlocked, thats the time to get it up so that people have something to work with.

Your unstoppable trophy is wrong. I got to the number one spot right before my second master and I skipped to my 3rd master and was able to play. Then I skipped to my 4th master and I didn't qualify because I wasn't in the top 100 of the golf rankings. Just to make it clear, I won all 3 of the masters I played in.

Thats an extra pain. Its a pity it doesn't follow reality closer.

Thanks for the heads up, I've added the new info.

Hi,

Just wanted to say thank you to Savenger for creating such a great guide in a short amount of time. Its really well done and concise. I am only upto 35% of trophy completion, and am enjoying the game greatly this year. A lot of the trophies i have so far have been by the methods you offer, some i achieved before your guide using these methods, which is an added sense of achievement for me. But i will be using your guide to get my Platinum. Thanks Again.

No worries. Glad to help.

If you or anyone else has any different or better methods for going about any of the trophies, let me know and I'll add them in.

I was thinking of doing a guide!!!!

Nice guide though sav, and to anyone who is reading can they advise?

I just won my first masters as a amateur but i really cant be ased to play all tournaments to get through 7 masters, im going to play up untill im no1 but how many do you drop after that for skips? I hope i can get away with just playing the majors for the rest (5 and a half seasons i assume).

Also you say to sub in a course if you dont have it to not skip the event, how do i do that?

Your world ranking is linked to your performance over the course of the years events. Do well and it will rise in comparison to the other players. Do badly, and it drops. Simple enough. But not playing at all over the course of weeks or months will drop your ranking dramatically.

As I said in the guide, you should basically skip only one or two competitions at a time, and check the rankings in between to make sure you are safely in the top 100. The drops in position wil not be totally predictable though, as the scores generated for the AI players are fairly random. They effect your position as much as your own performance.

So in short, skip in small amounts and always check in between.

Also you say to sub in a course if you dont have it to not skip the event, how do i do that?

If a tournament is set in a course you have unlimited plays on, you have to play it. If however the tournament is set in a dlc course, you will get a pop up message thats asks you how you want to proceed. Its here that you will see the option to switch out the course.

I have just started playing the game, but love the guide so far.

But is there a special reason for why you put legacy mode, before career in the road map? Or is it just your opinion? (I usually always start with the career :p )

No reason in particular, it just seemed the natural and most linear way to go about it. Plus the Legacy mode looked a little more interesting and varied than the career when I started. If you want, you could dip in and out of each mode. The important thing to keep in mind is the course mastery objectives. Whatever else you do, make sure to keep ticking these off.

Sav, just to let you know the 3 course mastery trophies (It's a Start, Now we're talking,

Like a Boss) are online trophies. I am having issues with connecting to EA server at the minute and was in a practice game prior to one of the career event and expecting one of the mastery requirements for the course to be achieved 40 GIR started event with 39 and hit the 3/4 greens and it didn't pop, went back and found that none of the requirements had advanced, looks like you need to be connected to EA servers for these requirements to advance.

Ahh i hope this is wrong!!!

I got your message earlier by the way and i too am having trouble with the servers, it randomly disconnects half way through a round so there is nothing you can do by that point?!?

I didnt notice if any of my masterys went up though as im trying not to watch them because im only on first year still.

When you get kicked from the EA Servers, whatever you got during your time of play, it resets everything back to the way it was before you unlocked anything.

I know, it sucks and a pain in the ass. I noticed that yesterday while I was going for my 1 Mastered Course. Stupid EA!!

I also have a feeling that you may need to be connected to ea servers for for the 10 perfect swings at tour pro also, I went trying for them yesterday when I was having issues with EA servers and pretty sure I got about 12-13 perfect top and bottom and dead straight bar while disconnected from server. I then got reconnected during the same session and keep at them and counted another 5 perfects / perfect and dead straight before the trophy popped but also had a number of perfect /perfect where the line was slightly off (after reconnecting) so I'm not sure if they count towards the 10 or not, if they do it implies that this is also an online trophy.

Just to clarify

If the requirement is Perfect top, Perfect Bottom and perfect line then it is an offline trophy.

If the requirement is Perfect top, Perfect Bottom and line isn't important then it is an online trophy.

Thanks for the clarification. This is why I was holding off submitting my guide- I wanted to find out for sure if you could just play only the Masters after getting to #1. I know in real life you would automatically get an invitation after winning once but there are many things in the game that don't follow real-life requirements.

I think the guide is pretty good overall- hopefully it gets approved soon.

I did what Savenger did to get the Putt from the Rough trophy- except I did it on No 17 at Pebble Beach.

Just a note- having mulligans on DISABLES trophies such as putt from the rough. I tried it.

Also you cannot get putt from the rough at the practice facility because the game will not allow you to place the ball in the rough when practicing putting.
