Platinum Trophy The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct Trophy Guide & Road Map

Another guide has been chosen as the preferred guide for this game.
This thread has been closed and is not maintained and as a result may contain outdated or incorrect information. Please follow the link below for the preferred guide.

*Due to Complaints from XBOX 360 Walking Dead: Survival Instinct Guide I'm re-doing two lists.*

This Trophy Guide is my first so please bare with me. Please do not copy, disseminate, or publish this work anywhere else without written permission from the aforementioned parties.

Not a member? If this guide helped you and want join this awesome Playstation community then please click here to sign up! I (DevilsThunder) would be obliged for your referral upon registering.

I also wanna thank the following people.

wozukl
PowerPyx
deathmule YouTube
ZombieLover84
also everyone/anyone else I forgot to write down.

-Estimated trophy difficulty: 5/10 as of needing Luck for Most.
-Offline: 51: 42 5 3 1
-Approximate amount of time to Platinum: 8-12 hours
-Minimum Playthroughs Needed: 4+ "Depending on Luck."
-Number of missable trophies: 9
-Glitched trophies: N/A
-Does difficulty affect trophies?: No, since there's no difficulty
-Do cheat codes disable trophies?: Relics that you unlock after playing do not disable trophies.
-Special peripherals or multiple controllers needed? None

The player assumes the role of Daryl Dixon, who can either fight the walkers or stealthily sneak past them. The player will also meet other survivors along the way, who can either help or damage him.

While playing through for the first time I would start looking to do the following trophies, just because it'll be done and over with the collectibles within two play throughs, since at some points of the game you can decide to go different directions. Also it'll help with the second play through even better. From this step you should be able to receive the following trophies.

Two Heads Are Better Than One
Oedipal Complex
You're Just Not My Type
Group Hug
We Survive by Pulling Together
Extreme Conditioning
You Go Your Way, I'll Go Mine
On The Road Again
Sneak Attack
Ooh, Shiny!
BOOM! Who Needs a Headshot?
Sorry Brother
This Is How Hot Dogs Are Made
They're People, Too!
Mind if I Borrow This?
Nobody Can Kill Merle but Merle
You're Doing It Wrong
Still Not Buying a Hybrid
I Can Handle Myself
I Used to Be a Human Like You
Moving to the 'Blurbs
Rosie the Rampager (depending on who's with you)
Guys Night Out (depending on who's with you)
Next Step: Bullet Belt
Crash Course in Brain Surgery
Need a Hand?
Get Out of Dodge

Now you should be focusing on some that you missed or need to complete like all the survivors, posters, stuffed squirrels and etc. Doing this should help you get the following trophies.

Have a Nice Trip!
Down to My Last
Porcupine
Good Samaritan
Stay Together, Stay Safe
Zig-Zagging All Over the Road
Guys Night Out
Now Don't You Get Bit!
That Looks Like It Hurt
Every Man, Woman and Child
No Down Payments
Been Everywhere
The Missing 8
No Stone Left Unturned

After this you should need the following trophies left for the Platinum.

The Hunted Becomes the Hunter
That's a Nice Swing You've Got
Duct Tape Can Fix Anything
It's Not Venison, but It'll Do
True Dixon
Say Hello to My Little Friend
They Know Me at the Range
Not a Scratch
Need More Spots Up Front
It's Gotta Be the Brain

Read these trophy’s below trophy descriptions if you need any more help or information about them.

Once all steps have been completed, congratulate yourself on your new Platinum Trophy.

PLATINUM
Get all other trophies.

Two Heads Are Better Than One
Simply kill multiple Walkers with One Bullet.

Oedipal Complex
Story related, cannot be missed.

You're Just Not My Type
Complete a Marked Destination without being Grabbed by a Walker.

Just like it says, you should be able to get this trophy right after you first start playing as Daryl. Just complete the level without getting grabbed.

Group Hug
Kill 4 Walkers in a Single Grapple Sequence, also another trophy to kill 100 Walkers. See Crash Course in Brain Surgery.

We Survive by Pulling Together
Recruit 1 Optional Survivor

You should get this from completing the Officer Blake's request for finding some batteries or from helping Warren from filling up your gas tank.

Extreme Conditioning
Sprint Until You're Exhausted 10 Times in One Level

During the second level just sprint until you can't anymore just ten times and it will eventually pop.

You Go Your Way, I'll Go Mine
Dismiss a Survivor

Just simply dismiss your first Survivor, cannot be missed.

On The Road Again
Explore an Unmarked Travel Location

You could actually just keep on driving if you wanted to. But once your driving to another town at some point the game will stop and ask if you wanna search for supplies. Just simply search the area for any useful items and then just get on your way.

Sneak Attack
Perform Execution Kills on 50 Walkers

Just simply perform sneak kills by going behind them and killing them. Once you have fifty Walkers killed it will pop.

Ooh, Shiny!
Distract 50 Walkers with Items.

Distract fifty Walkers by either throwing a Glass Bottle or a Flare. Just make sure that the Walkers hear/see it before moving onward.

BOOM! Who Needs a Headshot?
Kill 5 Walkers with One Explosion

Just take a Grenade and make sure to throw it where there's a big herd, I thought the best place to do this was when you had to help Anna Turner from the Diner, right before you have to look for her friend Scout. If you miss it then don't worry, just walk out the Diner and look straight up the road to see a big Herd Group.

Sorry Brother
Complete the First Act

Story related, cannot be missed.

This Is How Hot Dogs Are Made
10 Walkers Killed with Saw Blades in the Logging Camp

They're People, Too!
Complete a Marked Destination without Killing a Walker

Simply go through a level without killing a single Walker, best place for me was the Drive In Movie level. Also thanks to confirmation from Randall Flagg, If you fail to get it while playing any level. Restarting the level will in fact not work.

Mind if I Borrow This?
Pull a Bolt From a Walker Then Kill Them With It

Since I haven't seen a Walker have anything in them to grab like an arrow, just simply take your crossbow and shoot one arrow at them without killing them. Grab it and just aim for the head the second time around. Heres a video showing how.

Nobody Can Kill Merle but Merle
Complete the Second Act.

Story related, cannot be missed.

You're Doing It Wrong
Perish 13 Times

HIDDEN: Simply die 13 times.

Still Not Buying a Hybrid
Consume 250 Fuel

If you have been doing optional locations you should be getting this at no time. Just keep grabbing gas and keep burning it up, once you've consumed 250 fuel's it will pop.

I Can Handle Myself
Enter Sherwood Without Any Survivors

Just keep an eye on the Map, once you get near Sherwood just dismiss any survivors with you.

I Used to Be a Human Like You
Shoot a Walker in the Knee with a Bolt

Shoot a Bolt from the Crossbow into a Walker's Knee. Here's a video showing how.

Moving to the 'Blurbs
Complete the Third Act

Story related, cannot be missed.

Rosie the Rampager (depending on who's with you)
At the Final Destination with Only Female Survivors

This is tricky, before the final destination you have two choices but one decision. Make sure you rescue the Female and dismiss any Survivors that aren't Females.

Guys Night Out (depending on who's with you)
At the Final Destination with Only Male Survivors

This is tricky, before the final destination you have two choices but one decision. Make sure you rescue the Male and dismiss any Survivors that aren't Males.

Next Step: Bullet Belt
Fire 300 Bullets

Shoot 300 Bullets, easy way to get this would be from the last level on top of the machine gun. Just keep firing until it pops, even if you have to die a few times.

Crash Course in Brain Surgery
Kill 100 Walkers while Grappling

This comes along with like Group Hug, simply kill the Walker once it grabbed you.

Need a Hand?
Prevent a Walker from Damaging You by Severing Its Attacking Limb

Just basically sever the arm that is gonna attack you. I got it from after getting hit by a Walker with one arm I then shot it off to make it pop.

Get Out of Dodge
Complete the Final Destination on the Map

Story related, cannot be missed.

Have a Nice Trip!
Kill a Walker That Is Falling Due to Dismemberment

Here's a video showing how, once again I got this trophy from the Final Destination on the Machine Gun. Also ZombieLover84 has pointed out, Same method. Since the zombies are technially attacking you, you will get Need a Hand almost at random at this last part if you aim at thier bodies. For Trip, just aim at some zombies legs that are approaching and you will get this just fine.

Down to My Last
Complete the Game with Only 1 Firearm and 1 Bullet Left in Your Inventory

Here's a video showing how. Or all you just have to do is keep a Gun with One bullet in it, and while doing the Mounted Gun quickly go into your Inventory and drop everything but that gun. Thanks BubblesPL for the Information!

On the last mission, make sure you have a Bolt Action Rife. Now, just do the mission normally till you get on the turret. At that point, simply press select and drop everything, including bullets, except your crossbow, knife, and bolt action sniper. The trophy will unlock after you beat the game. Thanks ZombieLover84.

Porcupine
Shoot a Walker with 10 Bolts without Killing It

Here's a video showing how to do it.

Good Samaritan
Complete 25 Optional Objectives.

Just keep doing those little side quests while in the next town. You will probably get this on the second playthrough.

Stay Together, Stay Safe
5 Survivors Killed while Scavenging

HIDDEN: Simple if you really think about it, just each location your at to send out survivors just have five of them die.

Zig-Zagging All Over the Road
Explore 25 Unmarked Locations

Now Don't You Get Bit!
Prevent 50 Walkers from Grabbing You

Once a Walker grabs you and kill them, if a pack of herd is waiting to grab you simply press R1 to throw them back. Just keep repeating until you die or just continue on.

Guys Night Out - Only Male Survivors
Rosie the Rampager - Only Female Survivors

Do the opposite that you didn't do the first time.

That Looks Like It Hurt
Restore Survivors 25 Times

Just heal them with MRE's if you have extra.

Every Man, Woman and Child
Choose to Travel at Least Once with Every Optional Survivor
*Tip to Save some Playthroughs.* Thanks to Surfgoth
If you are searching in an area between two towns for survivors and you are about to reach the end of the line and the dialog is starting then dashboard out. You will restart and have a completely new random events. Also if your also near the end but stopped at an area, Exit to Main Menu to start again.

Click Here to See Activision's post regarding to Survivors

No Down Payments
Find Every Useable Vehicle

See The Missing 8 and No Stone Unturned for more information.

Been Everywhere
Complete All Marked Destinations on the Map

This takes two play throughs, just because some vehicles are from the other towns.

The Missing 8
Find Every Poster

No Stone Left Unturned
Find all 16 Stuffed Squirrels

Check out PowerPyx for excellent videos.
Collectible Guide Stuffed Squirrels, Posters & Vehicles

The Hunted Becomes the Hunter
HIDDEN: You have to kill 5 Walkers during the Tutorial Creek Scene

Here's a video showing how.

That's a Nice Swing You've Got
Kill Walkers Using Every Melee Weapon

BEING REDONE DUE TO COMPLAINTS FROM THE SISTER SITE

Duct Tape Can Fix Anything
Survive 5 Breakdowns

Use the highway. If you get to a scavenge place instead, just go into it, then quit to main menu. This will put you back at the start of the run. Select highway again and try your luck. Also, when you do break down and complete it, if you don't reach your destination, you can quit and and then continue, and you will be back at the original start point of the map, so you can now feel free to try and get another breakdown.

For some reason it auto saves and records the fact you completed the breakdown, but when you quit and continue you have to start again from the end of the last mission.

This is also VERY helpful to get specific random survivors to appear, instead of just going from mission to mission hoping it happens. Thanks for the tip ZombieLover84.

It's Not Venison, but It'll Do
Consume 50 MRE's

Just use 50 MRE's on yourself to get this trophy.

True Dixon
Complete a Marked Destination Map only using the Crossbow.

This can be tricky as I've tried doing it many times, I got this from the Drive In Movie level. This one is hard just because you cannot get grabbed at all, even restarting the level doesn't seem to work. Just know the area well and figure out the best routine for you. But just use the crossbow no matter what. If you fail I would simply try restarting level or just Exit to Main Menu to try again.

Say Hello to My Little Friend
Complete a Marked Destination level using Only Firearms.

Just complete a marked destination level using just firearms. I got this from the next location after the Drive In Movie.

They Know Me at the Range
Kill Walkers with Every Ranged Weapon
*List Is Gonna Be GETTING REDONE*
Click Here to See List & Locations.

Not a Scratch
Complete a Marked Destination without getting Damaged

You read it right, just try to stay alive throughout the location. Once again I got this from the Drive In Movie since I got familiar with the location. ZombieLover84 also had this to say, Drive In mission is the best mission to get no damage. It's the one I got it on. Just go talk to the old lady, then head to her house. When a bunch of zombies break through that first wooden fence to open the path, either wait till they walk and spread out, or use one of the movie speakers to draw them away (flares and glass bottles also work).

Once you get the cat cage, I always go out the main front door, and shoot all zombies in the way. Act quickly, and you have an open path to sprint back to the main drive in part.

As far as getting to her, I always went the back way, and just shot the zombies and jumped over the silver gate. Once your over the gate, the zombies can't get in. I then gave her the cage, killed the zombies out front from behind the barricade with my guns then once clear made my way back to her house, making sure to stay wide of any lone zombies.

Also thanks to confirmation from Randall Flagg, If you fail to get it while playing any level. Restarting the level will in fact not work.

Need More Spots Up Front
Dismember 250 Limbs

When you beat the game, before you start a new one, select continue instead. This puts you on the last mission after the helicopter crashs. Now all you gotta do is run to your copter, clear the pad, and get on the turret. Now just aim at all the zombie bodies to blow off their arms. Note that it must be arms and legs, heads do not count, and I do not believe explosions do either. Thanks ZombieLover84.

It's Gotta Be the Brain
Dismember All Limbs of 25 Walkers

Yes dismember all limbs from 25 walkers thats both their feet and arms, once again I got this from the Final Destination during the Machine Gun.

Same method as above, and I am almost 100% sure you just need to remove both arms, as I almost never saw myself removing all four limbs. Thanks ZombieLover84 for the tip.

Damn i don't like having to remember things either, I prefer to always go all guns blazing shoot first talk later so i were gonna just go round hacking everything up on my first couple of runs and see how i go lol, I didn't know if you gave it 7.5/10 because it was hard in the sense you were dying every minute and then struggle to get past places, But all is cool looking forward to this should have my copy in next few hours.

Now that I think its hard to since there's no mission select, so if you need a certain trophy that's close to the end... That starts to get frustrating, wouldn't you agree?
