ROADMAP

Game Introduction

The Saboteur is an open world sandbox third-person action game. Set during World War II in France, you play as Irish racing driver Sean Devlin. The Nazi's have occupied the city and it's up to you to liberate Paris and kick some Nazi ass.

To get the platinum, a fair amount of grinding is needed. The game is not difficult but does take time. The game itself can be broken into a few separate sections:

- The Main Story Missions.

- The Secondary Liberation Missions.

- The Ambient Freeplay Events.

- The Perks.

- Everything else…

------|||------

The Main Story:

The story missions are denoted by GOLD lettered icons on the map. You can pretty much ignore the rest of the game and concentrate solely on these until you finish the story if you want. And this is what I recommend you do. Play and enjoy the story first. Don’t worry about the rest of the trophies till you are done. All if the story based trophies are hidden, but they are also unmissable. Finish the story and you will get them all.

There are no trophies based on difficulty, so feel free to set it to whichever one works for you.

------|||------

The Liberation Missions:

The liberation missions are secondary missions denoted by GREY lettered icons on the map. You can do them any time you want. They are the missions which return colour to the game world, and ultimately earn you trophies for liberating the city.

I used these missions as save points, bookending sessions of Ambient Freeplay event hunting, I wanted to make sure that the events I completed stayed completed, and was a bit wary of the autosaves ability to keep up with the running total. A little over cautious maybe, but it worked a treat.

------|||------

The Ambient Freeplay Events:

The bad news: there are over 1300 of these spread across the map. You will have to get nearly all of them to platinum the game. Before you go hunting for these, you should complete this list first:

- Complete all the Main Story Missions: GOLD icons.

- Earn all of the Perks.

- Buy all the weapons.

- Buy all the area maps.

You will take out a few events of these as you work through the game. But once you have all that, you should get started on the ambient missions properly. Clear them from one area at a time. Be systematic, as it will limit the time you spend on this.

For more in depth information on these missions, see the Guerilla Warfare trophy.

------|||------

The Perks:

There are a total of 10 perks that will need to be upgraded three times each to get this trophy. Each level on each perk has a task that has to be completed. All of them except the Mechanic perk are pretty easy to obtain.

For the Mechanic Perks, I highly recommend that you use the silver and gold upgrades from the black market store for the silver and gold levels of the Mechanic perk as it will save you time and frustration while searching vehicles.

For more in depth information, see the Solid Gold trophy.

------|||------

Everything Else:

The rest can be picked up at any time. It’s simply a matter of working your way through them.

------|||------

Things You Should Know BEFORE You Start

There are four trophies you can miss if you are not aware of them:

- Solid Gold.

- No Witnesses.

- Master of Disguise.

- Trick or Treat.

Read the descriptions for each and be familiar of them as you play the game.

SOLID GOLD:

Achieved one you collect all ten gold perks. This trophy can be missed if you do not stealth kill five generals before you finish all of the generals off. Take out the first five you come across with stealth kills and you should be good.

See: Solid Gold.

NO WITNESSES and MASTER OF DISGUISE:

Both can easily be obtained at several points through the game. You just have to get both BEFORE you finish all the story missions available.

See No Witnesses and Master of Disguise.

TRICK OR TREAT:

All you have to do is be sure to stealth kill a general while disguised. You just have to get both BEFORE you finish killing all the generals. There are a couple of dozen spread across the map.

See Trick or Treat.

------|||------

Lastly: You will have one opportunity to buy a SILVER and a GOLD perk. It is strongly recommended that you use them for the Mechanic Perks. They are very time consuming, so it is a lot easier all round to just pay them off.

Complete all other trophies | (P)

Complete all other trophies.

This trophy will pop soon after you finish collecting the other 45.

THE STORY:

All of the hidden trophies for The Saboteur are story based. You will receive them all by finishing the main game missions, which each have GOLD location markers. The other GREY ones are only side missions, and can be left until after the main story is completed. Game difficulty level has no effect on trophy progression in The Saboteur, so feel free to use whichever setting you find suits you best.

The list below basically names each of the trophies. They are not really spoilers, as they are just random titles. But if you are the type who doesn’t like to know anything, skip this section.

THE PERKS:

14.jpg

Solid Gold | (S)

You completed all gold level perks.

There are a total of 10 perks that will need to be upgraded three times each to get this trophy. Each level on each perk has a task that has to be completed, except for the Mechanic perks because most of them are pretty easy to obtain. There are ten categories:

Brawling

Hardware

Sniping

Explosives

Demolitions

Sabotage

Mayhem

Racing

Mechanics

Evasion

For the Mechanic perks, I highly recommend that you use the silver and gold upgrades from the black market store for the silver and gold levels of the Mechanic perk as it will save you time and frustration while searching vehicles.

rGtaaZm.png omUrnqn.png rBkNh73.png

------|||------

BRAWLING

Bronze Perk: Fightin' Irish

Criteria: Knockout 2 Nazis:

Reward: The Haymaker Attack.

You can get this early in the game during the bar fight in Saarbrucken, all you have to do is keep punching the Nazi drivers until they stay down. You only need two so no biggie.

Silver Perk: Sucker Punch

Criteria: Kill 10 Nazi with Stealth Kills.

Reward: Sucker Punch Attack.

Just like in Silent Death, you will more than likely get this trophy or through normal play. You should be stealth killing all lone enemies you come across. To perform a stealth kill, hold :l2: to enter sneak mode, come up behind the enemy and press :square: or :triangle: but be careful that nobody is watching you. Unlocking a few of the perk gives you the 'Touch of Death' ability, which gives you a quicker and less conspicuous kill action.

Gold Perk: Grim Reaper

Criteria: Stealth Kill 5 Nazi Generals.

Reward: Touch of Death.

There are maybe a couple dozen generals spread across the map. You should try to take out every General you come across with a stealth kill until you get the Grim Reaper perk. Just make sure you get the Bronze and Silver brawling perks before you start wasting General killing opportunities.

You can tell a General on the map as their white dots are surrounded by a yellow suspicion zone circle. They will always have two soldiers acting as bodyguards. They need to be taken care of first. Shoot one of them with a silenced pistol or rifle. Make sure you do it unseen. Suspicion will go up when you kill him. Just get out of sight and wait fro it to return to normal. (This is a good time to smoke a few cigarettes). Once it does, repeat on goon number two. When the General relaxes once he is on his own, sneak up on him from behind and take him out.

------|||------

HARDWARE

Bronze Perk: Gun Slinger

Criteria: Kill 5 Nazis using Bullets.

Reward: Reduced Recoil.

Shoot any five Nazis, any gun will do the trick.

Silver Perk: War on Terror

Criteria: Kill 5 Terror Squad Nazis.

Reward: Unlocks .44 Pistol.

These only appear when the alarm level reaches four or above, they will not arrive on their own so you will have to pick them out of the crowd of accompanying regular SS. The Terror Squads wear a gas mask and heavy black uniforms. They also carry heavier firepower than usual grunts: Heavy Machine Guns, Flame Throwers or Panzershreks and go down harder but they do go down so have at 'em!

Gold Perk: Paint the Town Red

Criteria: Destroy a Zeppelin and a Wulf Tank during the same alarm

Reward: Unlocks Panzershrek.

This one can be difficult for some. Wulf Tanks don't appear on the streets until alarm level 5 and Zeppelins can prove elusive. You can try going mental on the SS and seeing how far you get but there is an easier way:

saboteurmap-wulf_tank.png

Go and retrieve the Wulf located southeast of the city. Go to the location shown in the map above. Bring it back to the Palais Royal without raising the alarm and park it just outside the southwest corner, position shown in the map below. Rig it with RDX. Now head up to the AA Gun located on the roof of the same corner. Raise a ruckus! As soon as the alarm starts, set off the RDX. That’s the Wulf taken care of. Now use the AA Gun to hunt for a Zeppelin. Sooner or later, one will float by, Easy pickings.

saboteurmap-royal_gun.png

Alternative Method: You go get the tank shown in the map and drive to the Eiffel Tower. Make sure you have a rocket launcher. Open fire to raise the alarm, then get out and stick RDX on the tank to blow it up. Now climb the tower. You'll be safe from enemy fire, and there should be a Zeppelin above. Blow it up with the rocket launcher, and you're done. Credit: Mendel.

------|||------

SNIPING

Bronze Perk: Marksman.

Criteria: Kill 5 Nazis with scoped weapons.

Reward: Reduced Scope Drift.

To get a Sniper Rifle early, take out any soldier in a Sniper Nest tower. Use it to kill 5 Nazis.

Silver Perk: Eagle Eye.

Criteria: Score 15 Headshots with a scoped weapon.

Reward: Reduced Scoped Recoil.

As before, to get a Sniper Rifle early, take out any soldier in a Sniper Nest tower only this time you are looking for headshots so aim high.

Gold Perk: Longshot.

Criteria: Score 10 "double Kills" using a sniper scope.

Reward: Unlock Terror Scoped Rifle.

All you have to do is line up 2 or more Nazis and put a bullet through both of them. This is easier than it sounds. They often patrol in pairs one in front of the other. Simply come up behind them, take your time to line up and away you go. Repeat ten times and you’re done.

Alternate Method: Just east of the club you start at, you will find two guards standing side by side outside a building. You should be easily able to make the double kill. Then just run back to the club and when you come back out, they'll be there again. Credit: Mendel.

------|||------

EXPLOSIVES

Bronze Perk: Cheap Thrill.

Criteria: Kill 10 Nazis with Grenades.

Reward: Additional Grenade Ammo Space.

Simple enough really, just kill 10 Nazis with grenades. Snipers in Sniper Nests are sitting ducks by the way, just lob in a Grenade at their feet and they have nowhere to go.

Silver Perk: More Bang For Your Buck.

Criteria: Kill 5 Nazis with one Explosion.

Reward: Half Price Explosives.

Raise alarm to level 2 or 3 and hide atop a building and wait for the Nazis to clutter down the street and lop a grenade and hope it kills them. I recommend buying the blast upgrade from the weapon dealer.

Gold Perk: A Real Hellion.

Criteria: Kill 10 Nazis within 10 seconds with Dynamite or RDX.

Reward: No Knockdown From Explosions.

Option A: In Act 2, Santos gives you a mission called ‘A Whisper or a Roar’ in which you have to blow up 3 liqueur filled army trucks so you can get your travel papers. If you set a trap in a car (obviously you have to have unlocked that particular ability), you can create yourself a rolling bomb. Aim for the centre truck and bail out before you hit. KABLOW!

Option B: Head to the AA Gun shown in the map below. Carpet the junction directly below with a grid of RDX, spaced 10 feet from each other. Head up to the gun turret. Keep firing till you get to Alarm level 4 or so. By then you should have a large crowd of SS milling around in your death grid. Push the button and watch the fireworks.

saboteurmap_aa_gun.png

Alternate Method: Rig a car bomb while playing the mission where the Nazis are burning books at the Arc de Triomphe. It can take a few tries, but if you run the car into the crowd of Nazis just right, it is doable. Credit: Mendel.

DEMOLITIONS

Bronze Perk: A Nasty Surprise

Criteria: Blow up 3 Nazi Vehicles with Dynamite.

Reward: Unlock Trap Function.

A large percentage of the ambient freeplay events are vehicles. Each of the Fuel Stations will have a Nazi vehicle as well so there are no shortages of targets out there.

Silver Perk: Mad Bomber.

Criteria: Destroy 5 Nazi Vehicles within 300 Seconds with Dynamite.

Reward: Unlock RDX.

The easiest way to get this is to spawn a collected German army vehicle from one of your garages, blow it up and repeat. Takes about five minutes tops. Go nick a Sturmwagen!

Gold Perk: Blockbuster.

Criteria: Destroy 3 Wulf Tanks with Dynamite or RDX.

Reward: Unlock Super RDX Upgrade.

There are several Wulf Tanks dotted around the map. The long method involves working through these until you get three. Alternatively, you can retrieve the Wulf Tank shown in the map below, collect it, and use the same method as shown above for ‘Mad Bomber’.

saboteurmap-wulf_tank.png

------|||------

SABOTAGE

Bronze Perk: Short Fuse.

Criteria: Destroy 2 Nazi Installations.

Reward: Faster Planting Speed.

An easy one to start off; search out the nearest Ambient Events, set a charge and enjoy.

Silver Perk: I Fell Towers.

Criteria: Destroy 10 Nazi Occupation Towers.

Reward: Additional Explosive Slots.

Occupation Towers are larger versions bedecked in Nazi finery. You know the drill, look for them, add a little dynamite, sit back and watch them fall.

Gold Perk: Urban Renewal.

Criteria: Destroy 4 Train Bridges.

Reward: Disguised Planting = No Suspicion.

You can do this once you receive bridge killer charges. There are several rail bridges to blow, (all north of the city if I remember correctly). They each have a rectangular area surrounding them. Once you enter it, you are given the option to use your bridge charges.

Just follow the railroads to find each bridge. They lose their rectangular marker boxes once you have blown them up so you know which ones to seek out.

------|||------

MAYHEM

Bronze Perk: Throwing a Party.

Criteria: Throw 5 Nazis to their Death.

Reward: Unlock Crowd Clearer Throw.

There are plenty of soldiers high up in towers and on rooftop gun emplacements so grab them and throw them out into the beyond, they don't bounce.

Silver Perk: Road Rage.

Criteria: Overrun 20 Nazis with Cars.

Reward: Unlocks Aurora Nitrous Upgrade.

Go all GTA on the Nazi hoard. Smashy, smashy!

Gold Perk: The Right of Way.

Criteria: Destroy 20 Nazi Vehicles with 1 Vehicle.

Reward: Unlocks Aurora Machine Guns.

This can be done in a decent tank, say Wulf or Panther III but using an AA Gun is far easier. Go to the location shown on the map below, it has a position which overlooks four or five different roads and you can easily get up to twenty vehicles.

saboteurmap_aa_gun.png

------|||------

RACING

Bronze Perk: Lead Foot.

Criteria: Win the Time Trial.

Reward: Unlocks Silver Claw.

This race becomes available at some stage during Act 2.

Silver Perk: Speed Demon.

Criteria: Win Country Race 1.

Reward: Unlock Skylar’s Drake Custom.

The Icon appears for this race right after finishing the time trial, and in the same area. If you are having trouble with it, boot the other racers out of their cars. A one horse race is as easy as it comes.

Gold Perk: Godspeed.

Criteria: Win Country Race 2.

Reward: Unlocks Silver Claw Mark II.

This will be become available during Act 3. If you are having trouble with it, boot the other racers out of their cars. A one horse race is as easy as it comes.

------|||------

MECHANICS

Bronze Perk: Joy Rider.

Criteria: Collect 5 different civilian cars.

Reward: Unlocks Altair.

The first five cars should be easy. Find 5 different random cars, you should be easily be able to find them around any garage.

Silver Perk: Hijacker.

Criteria: Collect every Nazi Vehicle.

Reward: Free Car Repairs.

This is where the one time only Silver Perk buy-out from the weapons dealer comes in handy. Use it to bypass this perk altogether. Otherwise, prepare to grind it out, moving from car to car, always coming and going to the nearest garage.

Gold Perk: Wheelman.

Criteria: Collect all civilian, race and military vehicles.

Reward: Ability to Collect APC’s and Tanks.

This is where you use the other freebie where the one time only Gold Perk buy-out comes in handy. As before, use it to bypass the perk. Much quicker, much easier.

------|||------

EVASION

Bronze Perk: Fugitive.

Criteria: Evade alarm level 2 5 times.

Reward: Unlocks Getaway Strike.

Trust me, you won’t have any trouble with this. You won’t even have to try.

Silver Perk: Escape Artist.

Criteria: Evade alarm level 3.

Reward: Select Getaway Car Ability.

At level 3, there will be regular patrols and the hiding spots on ground level will not work. Head for a hiding spot on a rooftop.

Gold Perk: Europe’s Most Wanted.

Criteria: Evade alarm level 5.

Reward: Use Hiding Places at Level 4 and 5.

To do this the easy way get to the Eifel Tower, fight until you are in alarm level 5 and take the elevators up to the restaurant. Once you take that drink at the bar, your there.

Also, there is a well on a farm in the northern countryside. If you get your alarm up to the highest level, you could make a run for it. Harder than the Eiffel Tower solution perhaps, but it is do-able.

Silver Streak | (B)

You obtained your first silver perk.

Unlock any one of the ten SILVER perks. You will have to get them all if you want to get that platinum. For the requirements and methods for each, see Solid Gold.

If you are in a hurry however, save up 2000 contraband and head to the shop. You will have a one time opportunity to purchase a silver perk. I strongly recommend you buy the Silver Mechanic perk Hijacker, as it is the one that takes longest to get. The trophy will pop straight away.

AMBIENT FREEPLAY I:

32.jpg

First Blood | (B)

You completed your first ambient freeplay event.

The Ambient freeplay targets become accessible after you begin working for Santos. Pick any one of the 1300+ white dots, take it out, and the trophy should be yours.

33.jpg

Commando | (B)

You completed each type of ambient freeplay.

You only need to do one of each of the following ambient freeplay events successfully once to unlock this trophy. In reality, you will have to do each multiple times before reaching platinum. But if you are in a hurry, keep an eye out for the following:

- Find a Postcard

- Use a Ramp for a Vehicle Jump

- Find a Scenic Point

- Find a hidden Supply Box

- Blow up an Occupation Tower

- Blow up a Sniper Nest

- Blow up a Searchlight

- Blow up a Mobile Radar Station

- Blow up an Anti-Aircraft Gun

- Blow up a Tank

- Blow up a Propaganda Tower

- Blow up a V2-Rocket

- Blow up a Grand Cannon

- Blow up a Mobile Radio Transmitter

- Blow up a Radio Tower

- Blow up a Dierker Statue

- Kill a Nazi General

If you have played the game for a while, and destroyed a lot of targets, but have not got this trophy, it is more than likely that you still need to take out one of the Dierker Statues. There are only three or four of these in total, so it is the easiest to miss. You will find one eventually, but if you are in a hurry, see the map below for where to find one in Paris Area 2:

saboteurmap-dierker.png

11.jpg

Tourist | (B)

You collected all monument postcards.

Like all other ambient freeplay targets, the postcards locations are revealed their locations when you purchase the maps from the black market. Since you will have to collect them all, see the following map for their locations:

saboteurmap-postcards.png

I placed the markers as close as I could, but use your in-game maps to match their exact locations.

There are 31 monument postcards to collect, each of which is near a notable monument or landmark: The Louvre, Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame, etc. Although most are found at ground level, some require you to climb the monument itself. In general, if there is no obvious target to blow up, you either have a postcard or viewpoint to find. Try at ground level first. There are often hidden in shadows or behind small walls or pillars. If you can’t find it, you’re going to have to climb the monument itself.

Handy Tip: Some buildings can seem un-climbable but none are. First look for yellow lights and/or scaffolding around the buildings perimeter. The games designers used them to signpost climbable walls. If there are none, look instead for a cable connecting from another building close by. Use it to shimmy across to your target building. You’d be amazed where you can get to!

If you still need help, follow these videos on how to retrieve each postcard (credit to Scorch48202 for the videos):

Wrecking Crew | (B)

You completed 333 ambient freeplay in Paris Area 1.

Paris Area 1 is the North Eastern section of the city. There are slightly more than 333 ambient freeplay events available so if you are having trouble with one in particular, just leave it and move on. When the trophy pops, there will be a handful of events left over in the area. Be aware though that there can be a slight overlap in areas so don't panic if it does not pop when you think it should, just keep at it and the trophy will pop.

If you are not sure of the area referred to as Paris Area 1, then see this map:

Unnatural Disaster | (B)

You completed 212 ambient freeplay in Paris Area 2.

Paris Area 2 is the Western section of the city. There are slightly more than 212 ambient freeplay events available so if you are having trouble with one in particular, just leave it and move on. When the trophy pops, there will be a handful of events left over in the area. Be aware though that there can be a slight overlap in areas so don't panic if it does not pop when you think it should, just keep at it and the trophy will pop.

Walking WMD | (B)

You completed 239 ambient freeplay in Paris Area 3.

Paris Area 3 is the Southern section of the city. There are slightly more than 239 ambient freeplay events available so if you are having trouble with one in particular, just leave it and move on. When the trophy pops, there will be a handful of events left over in the area. Be aware though that there can be a slight overlap in areas so don't panic if it does not pop when you think it should, just keep at it and the trophy will pop.

If you are not sure of the area referred to as Paris Area 3, then see this map:

See Guerrilla Warfare for more general information.

37.jpg

Fatherland Fighter | (B)

You completed 53 ambient freeplay in Saarbrucken.

Saarbrucken is the area in the North Eastern section of the map. You will have to go through the border checkpoint to get there (if you don’t already know, there is a switch just to the left of the gate). There are slightly more than 53 ambient freeplay events available so if you are having trouble with one in particular, just leave it and move on. When the trophy pops, there will be a handful of events left over in the area.

There's no overlap here as the border is pretty definitive. Some people have trouble getting to the radar and rocket installations around the back of the Duppelsieg plant. Halfway between the main entrance lobby and the rear warehouse space there will be a door on the left which allows you to enter the rear yard.

If you are not sure of the area referred to as Saarbrucken, then see this map:

You completed 76 ambient freeplay in La Havre.

La Havre is the port and surrounding area in North Western section of the map. There are slightly more than 76 ambient freeplay events available, so if you are having trouble with one in particular, just leave it and move on. When the trophy pops, there will be a handful of events left over in the area. Guerilla Warfare | (B)

You completed 425 ambient freeplay in the countryside.

The area referred to as the Countryside is basically everywhere else once you take away Paris 1, 2, 3 Le Havre and Saarbrucken. There are slightly more than 425 ambient freeplay events available so if you are having trouble with one in particular, just leave it and move on. When the trophy pops, there will be a handful of events left over in the area. Be aware though that there can be a slight overlap in areas so don't panic if it does not pop when you think it should, just keep at it and the trophy will pop.

If you are not sure of the area referred to as Countryside, then see this map:

saboteurmap-countryside.png

General Tips:

There are 1330+ ambient freeplay events spread across the whole game map. You will have to complete 99% of these to get all of the freeplay based trophies. Although this can seem pretty daunting, it is not as bad as it seems.

It will take roughly twice as long to get the freeplay trophies as it will to complete the story missions. You can either leave the bulk of them till after the story, or chip away at them in between missions. Here are a few tips that helped me get through them quickly:

- Do the main story first (the GOLD icons). Leave the grey ones till later, if you like

- Unlock all the weapons first. You will need a good selection to choose from.

- Unlock all the perks first. This makes it SO much easier and quicker. A must!

- Buy all the maps from the weapons dealers. Obvious really, you have to know where to look.

- Always carry a silenced weapon and a launcher: Viper and Panzershrek worked best for me.

- Make sure you have the Super RDX and Bridge Charges.

- Buy the Weapon Seller car upgrade, so you can restock on the move.

- Buy all the available upgrades: magazine size, damage, etc.

- Make sure you have the ability to lay explosives while disguised without suspicion.

Once you have all the above, you are ready to start. Set one of the racers as your getaway car. I choose the Aurora as I had the guns and boost if needed. Next fill up on ammo. You should try to keep yourself stocked up, particularly with RDX. Also, as said above, you should have a silenced weapon and launcher in your load out at all times. The Viper MG and Panzershrek easily make up the best combo, with the best magazine capacity, accuracy and damage stats.

From here there are two ways to proceed: either run around like a headless chicken blowing up everything you see, and being continuously hounded by rabid Nazis, or play it smart and do the most damage you can without detection. I strongly recommend the latter.

Whenever you can, get a disguise. Couple this with the ability to lay explosives while disguised without suspicion and you can do some serious damage very quickly. Since targets tend to occur in clusters, use this to your advantage. You should be able to rig everything to explode before being discovered. Then simply move away and detonate. If you have left the suspicion zone, shown by yellow circles on the map, you should be golden.

Whole bases can be wiped out in this way. Do remember that the RDX transmitter has a limited distance though. You may have to run around the base to set them all off.

Sometimes there will be no obvious target. This generally means you have a postcard, viewpoint or jump nearby. You should be able to figure out which it is easily enough. If you find that it is none of these, move away form the area and then return. Generals can sometimes disappear from view for some reason. He will reload when you re-enter the area.

Make use of the ! indicator under the map. For example: When killing Generals, attack from behind with a silenced weapon. If you are not seen while shooting and then holster the weapon straight away, you will get away without setting off an alarm. Even the general's two bodyguards will look straight at you without figuring it out.

Another use of the ! indicator is running while in disguise. If you can sprint while in uniform without raising an alarm, you can pretty much do anything without getting found out. This can come in handy when you do not feel like climbing up to a tower or propaganda speaker. If you can sprint without raising suspicion, feel free to use the Panzershrek to wipe out the target from street level. A great time saver.

Another great time saver are the AA gun positions, do not blow these up straight away. Take out the two guards, and enter the turret. More often than not, you will be able to take out 3 or 4 other targets with that gun. Afterwards, set a timed charge, and go and lose your wanted level.

You should try to be systematic. By sweeping across each area without leaving to many lone spots spread across the map, you can keep your distance covered to a minimum. Saves time and effort in the long run.

Lastly, use the secondary story missions as save points while working through the freeplay events. I was wary of trusting the autosave to remember that I had just spent the last three hours grinding through targets so I would finish each session with one of the GREY icon secondary missions. At the end of the mission, the game would do a proper autosave and ensure all progress was saved.

You inspired the people of Paris Area 1.

To inspire the people of a given area, complete the secondary missions in that area. They are the GREY lettered mission icons. Once completed, there will be a cut-scene where colour is returned to that section of the city. Complete all the secondary missions in Paris 1 to get this trophy.

Liberator of France | (G)

You inspired the people of France.

To inspire the people of France, complete every secondary mission and country race on the game map. They are the GREY lettered mission icons. Once one of these missions is completed, there will be a cut-scene where colour is returned to that section of the city, if it has not already. Complete all the secondary missions across all the areas of the map, and win both of the country races (flag icons) to get this trophy.

You do not have to complete these missions to complete the main story (GOLD icons). So leave them till after you finish that up. Also, I used them as save points while working through the ambient freeplay events.

MISCELLANEOUS I:

46.jpg

Not On My Watch | (S)

You have saved the French people from a cruel fate.

To unlock this trophy you will need to save 40 civilians in total. These mainly occur in black and white areas of the map. (They may occur in coloured areas but this appears to be much less frequent - Steve_LWL). Keep an eye out for a couple of Nazi soldiers threatening a small group of civilians. They are either going to kill them or cart them off in the back of a truck. All you have to do is take out the soldiers without killing the civilians, and you will see the contraband reward appear at the bottom of the screen.

Here is an example video (credit to Labradoodlesrule😞

Note: These events do not occur in random locations. Once you find a location, it is possible to farm it for civilians. One great location I found is just southwest of the Belle in Paris Area 1, near the city checkpoint. By following the loop shown in the map in blue below, I was able to get up to 40 civilians in under an hour. The civilians will be at the spot marked in red. See the map below:

saboteurmap-nomw.png

This method should work for every spot located. If, however, you have already 'inspired' all the areas of Paris, then head to Saarbrucken which is permanently black and white. If you don't already know, there is a switch to the left of the border gate so you can get through.

42.jpg

Master of Disguise | (B)

You made it through a story mission with your disguise intact.

There are a couple of easy ways to get this trophy. The first is to do the early mission 'Thirty Pieces of Lead' while in disguise. You can easily complete the mission without your cover being blown. If you have already gone beyond this point or have screwed it up, you can use method two: complete one of the country races while in disguise. Make sure to disguise yourself before you talk to the race organizer.

Once you win you will receive the trophy, and if you have not got it already, you will also receive the No Witnesses trophy.

41.jpg

No Witnesses | (B)

You completed a mission without raising alarm.

To get this trophy, all you have to do is complete a mission without the suspicion indicator going red. Yellow is fine, just don't let things get out of hand.

For more tips see Master of Disguise.

43.jpg

Trick or Treat | (B)

You stealth killed a Nazi General while disguised.

There are maybe a couple dozen generals spread across the map. You shouldn't have any trouble getting this trophy. Firstly, get a Nazi uniform then after that it's time to go Nazi hunting.

You can tell a General on the map as their white dots are surrounded by a yellow suspicion zone circle, they will always have two soldiers acting as bodyguards which need to be taken care of first. Shoot one of them with a silenced pistol or rifle but make sure you do it unseen. Suspicion will go up when you kill him. Just get out of sight and wait for it to return to normal (this is a good time to smoke a few cigarettes). Once it does, repeat on goon number two.

The General will relax once he is on his own so sneak up on him from behind and take him out. You should try to take out every General this way until you get the Grim Reaper gold perk, just make sure you get the Bronze and Silver brawling perks before you start wasting General killing opportunities.

44.jpg

High Diver | (B)

You jumped from the Eiffel Tower and survived.

The key to this trophy is to land in the pool which is shaped like a kidney bean. You can jump from either the very top of the spire, or from the viewing deck below. Make sure to keep pushing forward on the left stick. If you just use the natural angle of the fall, you will land short, and land hard!

Top o' the World | (B)

All you have to do for this one is climb to the very top of the Eiffel Tower. It's easy enough but if you are having trouble, then use this video (credit to THECaptainPlanetHD😞

13.jpg

Weapon Master | (S)

You purchased all weapons available in the shops.

You should be buying all the weapons as they become available. Some require missions to be completed, some require upgrades and some require perks. As a general rule, if it is for sale from a weapon dealer, you should buy it. You should easily get this soon after finishing the main story, if not before.

Here is a list of the weapons available if you need it:

Pistols:

- Kruger Pistol

- Silenced Pistol

- Raum Pistol

- .44 Pistol (Perk reward)

- Executioner Pistol (after story completion)

Machine Guns:

- MP40 SMG

- MP44 MG

- Tommy Gun

- Viper SMG

- Terror MP60

Shotguns/Rifles:

- Double Shotgun

- Trench-gun

- Terror Shotgun

- Hunting Rifle

- Carbine Rifle

- Steiner Rifle

- Scoped Carbine

- Scoped Steiner

- Terror Scoped Rifle (Perk reward)

Special Weapons:

- Siegfaust Mk2

- Terror Flamethrower

- Panzershrek (Perk reward)

MISCELLANEOUS II:

15.jpg

Saint Honoré | (B)

You spent 75,000 contraband.

By the time you have finished all the ambient freeplay events, you will probably only have spent around 50,000 contraband. It is an obvious point, but you should by now have purchased everything that is available in the Weapon Dealers: weapons, maps, upgrades, ammunition, etc. To quickly offload the other 25,000, follow the following tips:

- Set the game difficulty to Feckin' Hard.

- Go to a safe house with a Weapon Dealer inside: the church in Le Havre for example.

- Kill yourself just outside the doorway. A couple of grenades should do it.

- You will spawn back inside the safe-house.

- Go to the Dealer. All of the ammo for every weapon you own will have dropped.

- You should refill all weapons to maximum.

- If you have already bought all the available weapons, this will cost 2,120.

- Repeat this around 12 or 15 times to reach the 75,000 required.

The trophy will pop once you hit the 75,000 magic number.

27.jpg

Chain Smoker | (B)

You smoked way too much.

To smoke a cigarette, all you have to do is stand still and press :l3:. He will reach into his coat and light a cigarette. Wait for him to take one drag and exhale. Then move him slightly so that he drops the cigarette. Repeat 100 times for this one to pop. You should be smoking whenever you find yourself waiting. For example: When stealth killing generals, you will have to wait for the suspicion to recede after killing his two body guards. Use that time to work on this trophy. You can track your total at the bottom of the second stat page. Remember, you do not have to wait for him to finish the cigarette.

Here is a video (credit to Rooster Teeth😞

29.jpg

Casanova | (B)

You kissed 50 women.

You can kiss particular women scattered across the game map to escape a low Alarm Level. When an alarm is activated, the green dots that appear on your map are "hiding spots". Some are shacks, some are bunkers, some are switches and some are these women. You can only use a hiding spot once you are out of sight of the Nazi soldiers. Press triangle once the diamond icon turns green.

If you get the Gold evasion perk before trying this, then it should work for all five alarm levels. For an easy spot to get this use the location in the map below:

saboteurmap-casanova.png

12.jpg

Hell on Wheels | (B)

You achieved victory in all freeplay races.

There are a total of three races: the two country races and the grand prix. Pick your favourite racer and get to it. If you are having trouble with these races, hijack all your competitors before pulling up to the start line. You will then have the track all to your self. But in truth, the races are easy enough anyway. The races are marked with a flag icon and become available at certain points in the story.

Note: If you enter a country race while wearing a disguise, you can get both the No Witnesses and Master of Disguise trophies. Nice and easy.

See No Witnesses and Master of Disguise.

16.jpg

Demolition Derby | (B)

You destroyed 50 vehicles.

You will most definitely unlock this trophy during the normal play, as both the story and the freeplay missions will require it. If for some reason you still need it for platinum, go get a Wulf Tank and have some fun blowing up Sturmwagens!

20.jpg

Silent Death | (B)

You stealth killed 50 or more Nazis.

You will more than likely get this trophy or through normal play. You should be stealth killing all lone enemies you come across. To perform a stealth kill, hold :l2: to enter sneak mode, come up behind the enemy and press (:square:) or (:triangle:). Be careful that nobody is watching you. Unlocking Gold Brawling perk gives you the 'Touch of Death' ability, which gives you a quicker and less conspicuous kill action.

40.jpg

Pigeon Parfait | (B)

You played 'Bird Blast.

This is a marksman shooting mini-game. It's basically clay-pigeon shooting, only with real pigeons! Here is a map to where you can find this mini-game:

Thanks for the kind words lads!

I know its a little late in coming, but I just finished the game this week, and thought I should point anyone who's having a go in the right direction as it were.

It would have come quicker, but the likes of MW2 and AC2 kept me pretty occupied over Christmas.

Anyway, glad you guys like it. Enjoy.

Savenger...

The one thing I noticed that is sort of incorrect is the "Not on My Watch" trophy. You can get the nazi's to attack when the area is now in color but it doesn't come very frequently. I've had them hold people up... but it's not as often as it is when the area is in grey...

Doesn't matter much really but figured I'd point that out. Again... amazing work.

Really?

I have to admit that I never came across civilians that needed help in coloured areas. I'll add in the fact that they can occur. Thanks for the tip.

I would still recommend hunting for these in the black and white areas though. Anything to increase the odds and get it done more quickly has to be a good thing!

Yeah... It does happen but VERY rarely... If you sneak up and do a silent kill on a soldier and then hide, another soldier will come and find the body and immediately start looking for the killer. If a pedestrian walks by then he will harrass them and you can take out that guy to get the "saved civillian".

Just another way... and if you silently kill that first soldier who is harrassing someone already then you can get back to back quick ones. I just finished the trophy and it worked really well.

Thanks man

This should be stickied. :)

I noticed a minor mistake in your maps though. The "Isle de la Cité" is part of Paris II, not Paris III. I was wondering, because I cleared the area you marked as Paris II and had still quite a few items to go, so I started my sabotage magic on the Island and it counted toward Paris II and I got the trophy.

Very good job on the guide though. It makes the internet a better place. :D

Great guide dude! It has got to be one of the LONGEST guides I've seen lol. 7 or 8 posts? I will definitely be referring to this when I get back to the game.

Do you get to sticky your guide with your new position?:D

Thanks lad. And no. I'll leave that to my peeps on the GT.:D
