The Guided Fate Paradox is a turn-based roguelike game from Nippon Ichi Software. For those unfamiliar with the genre, it typically includes the following:

- Deadly traps and environmental hazards

- Cheap enemies

- Limited resources and inventory space

- Limited stamina

- Equipment has durability and can break

- Loss of all carried items upon death

This game features all of the above and the following:

- Always start at level 1 when starting a dungeon

- Lots of customization options

- Massive damage potential (for both you and your enemies)

- Sadistic level design

- Dependency on equipment for high stats

It's not an easy game by any means and often the game will throw something at you that you weren't expecting, usually resulting in death. The Platinum will require careful preparation and a good knowledge of the game's mechanics to obtain, as well as an idea on what to expect (especially from the bosses).

Step 1: Beat the Game

Watch the opening anime sequence first to get your first trophy. Then, simply clear the story mode. As you progress through the story, you’ll unlock new features and shops, most of which will prove invaluable throughout your time in the game.

After this you'll get:

(B)(H) Welcome to The Guided Fate Paradox!

(B)(H) Cleared 1st Wish

(B)(H) Cleared 3rd Wish

(B)(H) New Partner, Please!

(B)(H) Cleared 8th Wish

(B)(H) God's Duty Complete

(B)(H) Body Modification Newbie

(B)(H) It only makes you stronger

(B)(H) The power to guide fate

(B)(H) Gold Crab

(B)(H) It's different

(B)(H) To a revolution

Step 2: Beat the Survival Dungeon

After beating the game you'll immediately be thrown into New Game+ but will unlock the Survival Dungeon, you'll want to start on this immediately as the rewards will be more useful early on and succeeding in it doesn’t depend on your current stats. While there is no trophy directly attached to this dungeon, it does reward you with the very useful Mass Production Holy Artifact, which is also needed for (S) Holy Artifact God.

After this you'll get:

(B)(H) Burst Veteran

Step 3: Do New Game+ until the last chapter (optional)

After completing the Survival Dungeon, you’ll want to run through the game a second time until you reach the last chapter, preferably at +10 Enemy Strength. While this isn't strictly required, you’ll need access to some of the later chapters for farming purposes. Alternatively, you can do most of your farming before beating the game, but the rewards from beating the Survival Dungeon will definitely make the farming process go by quicker.

Step 4: Post-game dungeons

For some additional help with the Ex-Advanced dungeon, see this thread by x410xDragon: LINK

This is where the majority of your time will be spent. You'll want to dive into the Martial Arts dungeons to hunt down better equipment and defeat the bosses at the end. Go deep enough, and you’ll unlock the next Martial Arts dungeon. There are 4 Martial Arts dungeons total, each longer and harder than the last but give better items and rewards.

You'll also unlock the EX dungeons along the way. There are 7 EX dungeons, which have a cameo boss fight against characters from other NIS games. You'll need to defeat all of them in addition to the Martial Arts dungeon bosses.

Priority should be given to unlocking the highest tier Martial dungeons and gathering the highest rank equipment possible, the EX dungeons don't really offer much benefit in terms of strengthening your character so it's up to you to decide when you want to clear them. I would suggest clearing EX-7 immediately once you unlock it however, as your success doesn’t depend on your characters’ strength.

One tactic you can use to unlock the other MA dungeons quicker is to maximize your inventory space (64 items) by putting Capacity Up: S, M, and L in your Divinigram and directing all 6 God Energies to the Capacity Up: L. Fill your inventory up with Dives (buy from Total Level Shop) then enter the MA dungeon and just keep using the Dives until you’re deep enough to unlock the next dungeon.

One thing you should keep in mind while doing your dungeon runs is to keep at least one of every piece of equipment in your storage, and make sure to gather two copies of every weapon. Doing so will make the cleanup process for (S)(H) Divine Release Observer a lot smoother.

After this you'll get:

(B)(H) Exceeded 100,000 damage!

(B)(H) To the Martial Arts Dungeon!

(B)(H) Defeated Axel!

(B)(H) Defeated Pirohiko!

(B)(H) Defeated Nisa!

(B)(H) Defeated Asagi!

(B)(H) Defeated Valvatorez!

(B)(H) Defeated Raspberyl!

(B)(H) Defeated Buddha!

(B)(H) God likes it rough

(B)(H) Store regular

(B)(H) Reached 9,999 Total Level

(B)(H) Achieved Divine Equip +99

(B)(H) Master Thrower

(B)(H) Hoarder

(B)(H) Millionaire

(S)(H) Holy Icon God

(S)(H) Holy Artifact God

(S)(H) Defeated Zeus!

(S)(H) Defeated Hades!

(G)(H) Exceeded 100 million damage!

(G)(H) Defeated Prince Yamato!

(G)(H) Defeated Laharl!

Step 5: Cleanup

At this point you shouldn't have many trophies left and will have mostly everything needed to unlock the missing ones in a couple of hours, just head to any dungeon and perform the requirements for the respective trophies and enjoy your new Platinum!

After this you'll get:

(B)(H) Reckless

(B)(H) Nice flow

(B)(H) Thief

(B)(H) Master Thrower

(B)(H) Kill the toughies

(S)(H) Divine Release Observer

(G)(H) Obtained all items

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/2348/97C.jpg Thou Art God! (P)

Obtain all trophies and you shall be awarded with this.

Earn all trophies to receive this sacred relic honoring your godly accomplishment. You’re now one step closer to become an RPG god!

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/2348/8AC.jpg Exceeded 100 million damage! (G)(H)

Obtained after exceeding 100 million damage.

This will likely come during your journey through the Martial Arts EX-Advanced dungeon. If you've properly set up Renya's Divinigram, you can get this with as low as 10 million ATK.

To get this reliably, you'll need to install the following Holy Artifacts at the minimum:

Full Power

Violent Hunger

Practice Swings

Sniping

You'll want to direct all 6 God Energies towards the Practice Swings artifact then when on a dungeon floor, make sure you can activate God Mode first and your EN is at 0% then clear all enemies in the room you're in, then just keep pressing :cross:. You'll notice an ATK Bonus meter on the bottom right will keep rising. Once it's at +999%, find a room with about 4-5 enemies, then enter God Mode and use Sword of God. You should hit over 100 million on at least one of them, which will unlock the trophy shortly.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/2348/603.jpg Defeated Prince Yamato! (G)(H)

Obtained when you defeat Prince Yamato in the Martial Arts dungeon (EX advanced).

This is the most powerful boss in the game. You'll face him in the Martial Arts EX-Advanced dungeon, which is unlocked by going through floor 120F of the Advanced dungeon, he will be found on floor 200F.

Before taking him on, you'll want to have a good stockpile of 6 star items, then get them to +99 and synthesize them. Use the setup outlined in Exceeded 100 million damage! to defeat him.

See the Boss Data section for more information on this fight.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/2348/EB8.jpg Defeated Laharl! (G)(H)

Obtained when you defeat Laharl in the Extra dungeon.

You need to have defeated Valvatorez first to unlock Laharl's dungeon. He's the hardest of the EX bosses, thus I recommend doing this after you have at least a few 6 star items or fully synthesized 5 star equipment.

See the Boss Data section for more information on this fight.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/2348/4AD.jpg Obtained all items (G)(H)

Obtained once you have collected all the different items.

You need to have picked up every item in the game at one point. Obtaining all ranks of an item does not matter for this trophy. For the most part most of the items are randomly found while running the Martial Arts dungeons. It's recommended to at least pick up or equip anything that is marked as "NEW", even if you aren't using it, as that will remove the "NEW" flag and register it in your Item Data. You'll likely have all the regular equipments and items by the time you start the final Martial Arts dungeon.

There are a few items that aren't found normally. The first group is the Total Level shop items. You can buy these easily with a Total Level of around 5000. The second group is Kuroiel's Lunch. Simply set Kuroiel as your partner, have her use her Angel Skill in a dungeon to get the first item, then use an Exit to obtain the second item. The next one is the Warp Device, which is only found in stage 6 of the EX-7 dungeon. The final group is Cosplay items. You'll get these when you go through NG+ a second time, and you also get some sets for defeating the MA bosses. You can find a Cosplay Shop NPC in an Irregular Floor, which sells most of the Cosplay equipments in the game.

You'll probably get this trophy shortly after you obtain Defeated Prince Yamato!, as you'll be rewarded with his exclusive set upon his defeat which is required for the trophy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/2348/319.jpg Holy Icon God (S)(H)

Obtained when you fill the whole Divinigram with Holy Icons.

This will unlock once you've filled any character's Divinigram with Holy Icons.

There are two ways to get this trophy. The first is by having a Total Level of over 9,000! (no, seriously) Simply go to Cheriel's Divinigram, unlock all her tiles and place a Holy Icon in each open tile for the trophy.

The second is through the Survival Dungeon. You'll want to kill any Strong Enemies along the way and Burst every piece of equipment you find. If you've been doing this, you should have enough Holy Icons to place on all the tiles of a character's Divinigram (again, use Cheriel's for this) before your clear the dungeon.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/2348/7B8.jpg Holy Artifact God (S)(H)

Obtained once you have collected all Holy Artifacts.

This will require you to defeat the EX1-6 dungeon bosses and the Survival dungeon, as well as go through a few Martial dungeon runs.

Most of the Holy Artifacts are randomly found in shops, while 3 are exclusive to the Survival dungeon/EX bosses. When doing your Martial dungeon runs, check the cactus NPC every 10 floors and buy as many Holy Artifacts as you can from it until it’s sold out. When an Artifact is sold out, it will no longer be available for sale in the shops. This will give a better chance of the store having new Artifacts on future visits.

As long as you keep buying out the shops of Holy Artifacts, you should be able to get this trophy shortly after you defeat Laharl in the EX-6 dungeon.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/2348/698.jpg Divine Release Observer (S)(H)

Obtained once you have seen all Divine Skills.

You'll need to have Ally animations set to ON for this. If you don't want to do that the whole game, you can wait until you've stockpiled at least one of every piece of equipment and two of every Arm piece, then turn Ally animations ON, then take as many equipment pieces as possible with you and head to any dungeon (bring an Exit with you!) and start unleashing Divine Skills on the enemies there.

Make sure to bring two copies of an Arm weapon when farming the skills, since you can activate a Double Divine Skill if you have two of the same Arm weapons equipped, which is required for this trophy.

It will also count if your partner uses the skill but it's unreliable as the A.I likes to spam the same skills, thus wasting SP.

You'll be able to get this as soon as you unlock Obtained all items! but make sure you don't sell anything that you only have one copy of and especially don't sell any Arm equipment unless you have at least 2 of that piece, otherwise you'll have to hunt more copies down in the Martial dungeons.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/2348/D6D.jpg Defeated Zeus! (S)(H)

Obtained when you defeat Zeus in the Martial Arts dungeon (advanced).

You'll unlock the Advanced dungeon by going through floor 80F of the Intermediate dungeon. You'll find Zeus at floor 150F of the Advanced dungeon.

See the Boss Data section for more information on this fight.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/2348/DC6.jpg Defeated Hades! (S)(H)

Obtained when you defeat Hades in the Martial Arts dungeon (intermediate).

You'll unlock the Intermediate dungeon by going through floor 40F of the Beginner dungeon. Hades awaits at floor 100F of this dungeon.

See the Boss Data section for more information on this fight.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/2348/3D6.jpg Welcome to The Guided Fate Paradox! (B)(H)

You watched the opening movie! Now enjoy the game!

When the game starts, sit through the opening anime sequence and the trophy will pop at the end of it.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/2348/F3F.jpg Cleared 1st Wish (B)(H)

Guided the fate of the first believer.

Story related and cannot be missed. This will unlock automatically upon clearing the 1st story dungeon.

The boss is fairly straightforward. Just use the Sleep Orbs lying around to put it to sleep while you beat up on it.

Guided the fate of the third believer.

Story related and cannot be missed. This will unlock automatically upon clearing the 3rd story dungeon.

The boss has a lot of minions and can summon poison meteors every few turns. Use God Mode to wipe out the minions and the boss should be easy pickings if you have enough healing items with you.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/2348/E43.jpg New Partner, Please! (B)(H)

Obtained once you take someone other than Lilliel into a dungeon.

Guided the fate of the eighth believer.

Story related and cannot be missed. This will unlock automatically upon clearing the 8th story dungeon.

The boss is very easy but takes a while due to the stage layout. Simply kill all clones that approach you and build levels from there. If a lot of clones are approaching, retreat to a corner so you won't have more than 2 on you at a time.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/2348/37D.jpg God's Duty Complete (B)(H)

Obtained when you clear the main story.

Story related and cannot be missed. This will unlock automatically upon clearing the final story dungeon.

To prepare for boss you'll probably want to do MA: Beginner a few times and get 3 stars, then pick mostly DEF gear and equip it for the fight. About 10K should be enough to survive all attacks and beat it comfortably.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/2348/BD1.jpg To the Martial Arts Dungeon! (B)(H)

Obtained when you first enter the Martial Arts dungeon.

Obtained after entering the machine 100 times.

Just enter a dungeon 100 times for this. This will come naturally as you play the game but you can farm this by buying Exits then using one immediately after entering the dungeon or if money is low, unequip everything you have then enter a difficult dungeon and get yourself killed. Repeat either process until you get the trophy.

Obtained when you place your first Holy Icon.

Story related and cannot be missed. You'll be given a tutorial on this during the first chapter, this will unlock shortly after.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/2348/7D1.jpg Divine Summon Newbie (B)(H)

Obtained when you summon an item set for the first time.

During the fifth chapter, you'll unlock Item Transfer, which allows the use of Divine Summon. To get this, talk to the Item Transfer NPC and set some equipments to any Divine Summon set. Enter a dungeon, select Divine Summon from the menu then select any of the equipment sets. The trophy will pop shortly afterwards.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/2348/F87.jpg It only makes you stronger (B)(H)

Obtained when your Total Level goes up after you faint.

This will pop when you die once and get sent back to the base. You'll be dying quite a bit in your journey through this game so this will come naturally.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/2348/DD0.jpg The power to guide fate (B)(H)

Obtained when you use God Mode for the first time.

You'll get the ability to use God Mode after clearing the 1st story dungeon. Just fight enemies until the orb in the upper left corner is completely filled, then it will start glowing. When it does, go to the menu and select God Mode for the trophy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/2348/C82.jpg Burst Veteran (B)(H)

Obtained when you Burst equipment 100 times.

Equipment will Burst once you kill enough enemies while wearing it. Activate 100 Bursts for the trophy. This will come naturally as you play, as it's needed to get more Holy Icons for your Divinigram and get stronger.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/2348/B7C.jpg Reckless (B)(H)

Obtained after fainting 3 times after telling an angel to "Fight as you see fit!"

Simply set your angel to "Fight as you see fit!" under commands and let them killed 3 times for this trophy. You can get this quicker if you remove all their equipment and head to a difficult dungeon like EX-5 or the Martial Arts EX dungeon.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/2348/64C.jpg It's different (B)(H)

Obtained when you find an Irregular Floor the first time.

Irregular Floors start appearing randomly at Chapter 4 and onwards. They look like an ordinary portal but have a greenish tint instead of blue. Enter one for the trophy, they usually have a beneficial feature in them so it's advisable to enter one if you come across it.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/2348/C09.jpg God likes it rough (B)(H)

Obtained when you use the Enemy Boost Shop.

You'll unlock the Enemy Boost Shop when you reach floor 30F of MA: Beginner. Once it unlocks, talk to it and choose to strengthen the enemy levels. You'll get this trophy shortly.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/2348/ECC.jpg Gold Crab (B)(H)

Obtained when you defeat a gold crab.

Gold crabs appear in chapter 4, they look like a golden chest carried by a crab and only have 4 HP but take 1 damage from non-critical attacks every time and will flee from you if you approached. They also move two spaces every turn and guarantee a level up upon its defeat. To kill one, you just need to back it into a corner and keep using ranged skills to hit it until it dies. Another way to easily kill it is to throw a Sleep Orb at it then attack it with any ranged skill, which will always result in a critical hit.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/2348/A94.jpg Nice flow (B)(H)

Obtained after directing God Energy to flow more than 30 tiles away to a Holy Artifact.

You'll need to unlock the Divinigram, be able to unlock 30 tiles and have at least 30 Holy Icons and the Changer artifact. Unlock 30 tiles in such a way that they form a clear path, then hold :square: and use the :dpad: (D-Pad) to change the direction of the God Energy source so that it flows along that path. If any turns need to be made, place a Changer and hold :square: + :dpad: to change the direction of the God Energy stream.

The trophy will pop once the God Energy stream has flowed through 30 tiles and into a Holy Artifact. Changers do count as Holy Artifacts so you can just place one at the end of the path for the trophy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/2348/221.jpg Store regular (B)(H)

Obtained when you spend more than 100,000 GP at the store.

Just spend a cumulative total of 100,000 GP at the general store and you’ll unlock this. You can just save up 100,000 GP, buy the most expensive item at the general store until the trophy pops then reload your save.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/2348/FFE.jpg Thief (B)(H)

Obtained when you steal items 10 times.

No, this isn't for stealing items from the cactus shop that appears randomly. This is obtained by simply stealing items from enemies 10 times. To do this you’ll need either the Thief’s Arm, Cloth, or Thief's Suit. Simply equip either item and use its Divine Skill to steal from enemies until you've stolen successfully 10 times. I did this in Circuit 3-1. The manta ray enemies are plentiful and have Mega Beefy to steal. Just steal from each one you meet until the trophy pops.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/2348/90E.jpg Exceeded 100,000 damage! (B)(H)

Obtained after exceeding 100,000 damage.

This will likely unlock as you progress through the Martial Arts Intermediate dungeon. See Exceeded 100 million damage! for more details.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/2348/D9D.jpg To a revolution! (B)(H)

Obtained after defeating 1,000 enemies.

Defeat 1000 enemies and you'll get this. This will come naturally as you play, most likely before you beat the game.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/2348/97B.jpg Reached 9,999 Total Level (B)(H)

Obtained when your Total Level reaches 9,999.

To get this you just need to accumulate 9,999 levels throughout your dungeon expeditions.

This will unlock at different times for everyone, depending on how you choose to go about the game but it will definitely unlock before you finish the hardest boss in the game.

You can automate this by having the Deep Thinker artifact installed in Renya's Divinigram, then direct as many God Energies to it as possible. You also need to have the last story dungeon unlocked and either the Hybrid or Energy Saver artifacts. You can also bring 9 Dives but that's optional. Perform the infinite EN glitch with the Hybrid or Energy Saver, head to Circuit 9 then Dive all the way to floor 10F. You'll probably want to raise the water level and head to a high elevation. Once there, clear any roaming enemies, then just tape down :circle: + :cross: and you'll reach level 9999 in a few hours.

Without auto-levelling, the best method I've found is to get the EXP Booster artifact and direct 6 God Energies onto it, for a +110% EXP boost. Set all enemies to +10 strength. After that, make sure you and your partner are equipped well, stock up on Exits then head to Circuit 10: Netherworld (the last story dungeon). Simply set your partner to "Fight as you see fit!" then hold :circle: + :cross: as he/she just runs around the dungeon killing everything. Once the floor is cleared, use an Exit and repeat the process. You should be getting about 20-30 levels a minute with this.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/2348/4DD.jpg Achieved Divine Equip +99 (B)(H)

Obtained after boosting a piece of equipment to +99.

The trophy description might not be accurate as it popped for me once I got an equipment to +90.

This will be one of the last bronzes you get, if not the last. You'll need to acquire any 6 star equipment, which can only be found in floor 70+ of the Martial Arts EX-Advanced dungeon or from the minions during the boss fight with Laharl.

Once that's done just run any of the Martial Dungeons and use the 6 star equipment until it Bursts, then strengthen it at the blacksmith every 10 floors. Keep doing this until the item reaches +90 or higher.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/2348/F23.jpg Master Thrower (B)(H)

Obtained after throwing the enemy 50 times.

Simply pick up and toss an enemy 50 times and you’ll get this trophy. This will come naturally as you play.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/2348/295.jpg Hoarder (B)(H)

Obtained after placing over 10 Holy Artifacts on the Divinigram.

You can get this once you have access to the Divinigram and 10 Holy Icons. Buy the Changer Artifact from the General Store, which has infinite uses. Lay 10 Holy Icons on the Divinigram and place a Changer on each one for the easy trophy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/2348/86A.jpg Millionaire (B)(H)

Obtained after depositing over 1 million GP in the bank.

GP is the game's currency, you'll earn some from monster drops or from selling items. Just have 1 million GP stored in the bank for this trophy. Early on, money will be hard to come by but as you advance through the story, it will get easier to obtain.

The best place to obtain money in the earlier stages of the game is to obtain the Paw Paws weapon and go through the final story dungeon with +10 enemy strength, while using the Paw Paws' Divine Skill before killing any enemies. In the bottom 5 floors enemies will start dropping around 20-30K per kill and there will occasionally be a chest enemy that drops 80-100K per kill. Once you've cleared the 9th floor, use an Exit and repeat until you have enough money, though you’ll probably get it after one run through the dungeon.

Later on, the Holy Artifact "Demon Soul" will allow you to earn money after every kill. If you have this installed in your character's Divinigrams, you’ll easily get 1 million GP in no time.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/2348/352.jpg Kill the toughies (B)(H)

Obtained after defeating 50 strong enemies.

Strong enemies are denoted by a purple mark on the map, and are visible no matter where you are. These enemies are significantly more powerful than the regular enemies on the map and will put a serious dent into your HP, if not outright killing you. To deal with them, you'll want to have high enough stats to kill them in one hit, or if in one of the optional dungeons, equip all your ATK boosting gear, enter God Mode and use Sword of God to defeat them instantly.

This can be easily farmed in the last chapter, as you'll need to defeat one to progress to the next floor and they’re fairly weak if you have at least 3 star equipment or higher. Go through floor 9 and use an Exit once the last one falls and repeat the process until the trophy pops.

Boss Data goes here. Spoilers abound.

As a general rule the bosses are typically a lot more powerful than the dungeons they're found in. Don't get too overconfident about beating them if you're able to easily beat the enemies in their dungeon because often they can and usually will, one-hit kill you.

This surprise factor is one of the biggest reasons for the game's difficulty. Fortunately, once you know what to expect from a boss and prepare accordingly, the game becomes a lot easier.

The most important thing to know is the boss's HP. You'll almost always want to kill the boss in one hit before they get to you. Thus the recommended setup and strategy is mostly the same for all bosses.

You'll want to place the following Holy Artifacts on your Divinigram before the boss:

Full Power

Violent Hunger

Practice Swings

Sniping

Depending on the situation, you'll want to direct all your God Energies towards either Practice Swings or Sniping. Sniping just requires you to be as far away from the boss as possible and requires little setup. Practice Swings has more damage potential but takes longer to build up.

As for recommended stats, if you have about 25% of the boss's HP for ATK and about 12% of the boss's HP for HIT then you're pretty much ready to take the boss on. You can get by with as low as 10% of the boss's HP for ATK but it will require more setup.

Before entering the boss floor, make sure your EN is at 0% and God Mode is usable.

What you'll want to do for all bosses is to set up Sniping/Practice Swings, then go God Mode and use Sword of God to kill them in one hit. It's really that simple. If using Sniping, bring an Accelerator with you and get the boss to approach you, then use Accelerator's Divine Skill to dash to the other end of the map, then go God Mode. If using Practice Swings, you'll want to keep pressing :cross: and attack nothing to build it up.

For insurance: Bring Revive Gems into every dungeon. The more Revive Gems you have, the better the odds of making it to the end and winning. Generally, 2 is good for EX 1-4 and MA Beginner and Intermediate, 4 for EX 5 and MA: Advanced and 5+ for EX 6 and MA: EX Advanced.

If you feel like being cheap, feel free to abuse Deep Thinker and the Infinite EN glitch to level up easily and overpower the boss. Be warned, it won't work on EX 3-4 due to the stage's special features, plus you won't be able to have a powered up Sniping/Practice Swings for the EX dungeons.

EX-1 Axel

HP: ~5000

Recommended to power up: Any, he's that easy.

EX-2 Pirohiko

HP: ~12000

Recommended to power up: Sniping

EX-3 Nisa

HP: ~25,000

Recommended to power up: Sniping

EX-4 Asagi

HP: ~55,000

Recommended to power up: Sniping

EX-5 Valvatorez

HP: ~100,000

Recommended to power up: Sniping

EX-6 Laharl

HP: ~3 million

Recommended to power up: Sniping (try to get the 6* Great Sword from the fight)

EX-7 Raspberyl

Just activate Rakiel's Damaging Zone barrier, pick up the healing item, and throw it to him. Damaging Zone will do the rest.

MA Beginner Buddha

HP: ~20,000

Recommended to power up: Sniping

MA Intermediate Hades

HP: ~300,000

Recommended to power up: Sniping

MA Advanced Zeus

HP: ~2 million

Recommended to power up: Sniping

MA EX-Advanced Prince Yamato

HP: ~180 million

Recommended to power up: Practice Swings

Suspend Save trick:

Normally, you can’t save inside a dungeon, but you can choose to make a Suspend Save every time you enter a new floor. This will take you to the title screen. When you load your Suspend Save, normally, you’ll be unable to load it again.

What this trick does is enable you to load your last Suspend Save and continue from where you left off there, basically allowing you to save your progress inside dungeons and reload if you happen to die or mess up. To do this, you'll need to do the following:

1. Make a Suspend Save

2. Exit to the XMB.

3. Open your Save Data Utility folder.

4. Find the file called “The Guided Fate Paradox System Data”

5. Select it, and press :triangle: to bring up a menu. Select Copy.

6. Copy the System Data to a USB stick or PS+ Cloud.

7. Now, if you want to reload a previous Suspend Save again, simply overwrite the System Data stored in the Save Data Utility folder with the one you copied to your USB/PS+. You can use the same System Data file over and over for this.

Infinite EN glitch:

This glitch prevents your EN from draining. To do this, you'll need either the Hybrid or Energy Saver artifacts. Then you'll need to do the following:

1. Place Hybrid or Energy Saver in anybody's Divinigram.

2. Enter a dungeon, move around a bit, then use an Exit to escape.

3. Remove the Hybrid/Energy Saver.

4. Enter a dungeon and hold :circle:+:cross:. If your EN isn't draining, then the glitch is active.

Keep in mind that the glitch isn’t 100% guaranteed to work so you may have to attempt it a few times.

Level up trick (already mentioned in Reached 9,999 Total Level):

You'll need to perform the infinite EN glitch as well as have the Deep Thinker artifact (0.1% EXP gained per turn. For maximum returns, have all 6 God Energies unlocked on Renya's Divinigram.

1. Place Deep Thinker on Renya's Divinigram and direct all 6 God Energies to it.

2. Perform the infinite EN glitch.

3. Head to the 10th floor of an already cleared story dungeon. Circuit 9 is preferred for the higher elevations, or any dungeon that can spawn sleeping enemies.

4. Get to an isolated room (preferably higher ground) and clear all enemies .

5. Tape down your :circle: + :cross: buttons and do whatever you want. You'll keep levelling up until you hit 9999.

Here's a summary of I think is a good route to take towards the (P). I'm not going to claim it's the best one, but it should get you through the game without having to resort to massive use of the Suspend Save trick.

While going through the story, make it a priority to unlock all of Renya's God Energies first.

1. Reach Lesson 6 in story mode. Unlock MA Beginner.

2. Go through MA Beginner. Stock up on 2* items. If possible, try to reach 40F and unlock MA Intermediate. You can also find 3* items there. Keep an eye out for the Paw Paws weapon, and any Capacity Up Holy Artifacts.

3. Clear the story. Unlock Survival Dungeon.

4. Clear Survival Dungeon. Get Mass Production. Keep it on your Divinigram every time you run an MA/story Dungeon.

5. Set Enemies to +10 strength (or whatever the highest you can handle is) and clear all story stages again, up until Lesson 10.

6. Run Lesson 10 with Paw Paws equipped (preferably at +10 strength) and get about 5 million GP. You may want to keep doing this until you get the 50 tough enemy kills trophy.

7. If you didn't beat him already, head to 50F of the MA Beginner dungeon and beat Buddha. You can save him for later if you want to do it quicker, however.

8. Head to the Total Level Shop and buy as many Dives as you can get. Maximize your inventory space by directing all God Energies to the highest Capacity Up artifact you have.

9. Bring about 5-10 million GP with you and head to the MA Intermediate dungeon. This run will be for gathering Holy Artifacts. Use all your Dives and make sure to buy out all the Holy Artifacts from the shop every 10 floors. Use the Suspend Save trick to reset for Holy Artifacts you might want. Highly recommended ones include Full Power, Energy Saver/Hybrid, Capacity Up, Demon Soul, Practice Swings, Sniping, Violent Hunger, HP/ATK/DEF/HIT Booster, Deep Thinker, and Head/Arm/Leg/Misc Up: L.

If you spot any 4* items along the way, be sure to grab those as well.

10. Perform the Infinite EN glitch and use the Level up trick with Deep Thinker to level up to 9999. You can beat everything in the game with about 15000 total levels, but I recommend doing it 2-3 times.

11. If you haven't beat Buddha already, then buy 49 Dives and use them to head to 50F of MA Beginner and destroy him. You'll want to kill a few enemies every now and then for the levels. EX-7 and EX-1 should now unlock.

12. Add Demon Soul to your Divinigram and the HP/ATK/DEF/HIT Boosters. Set up your Divinigram so you can add or remove Full Power/Violent Hunger/Sniping at will.

13. Clear EX-1, and EX-7. Make sure to get the Warp Device from stage 6 of EX-7.

14. Clear MA Intermediate. Unlock MA Advanced.

15. Clear EX-2 and EX-3.

16. Hunt down and stockpile 5* items in MA Advanced. You may want to do the first 20 floors normally then use 60 Dives to reach floor 70-80, where they start showing up. Ideally, you'll want to fill your entire inventory and helpers with 5*s before escaping.

17. Once you've stockpiled enough 5*s, you'll want to stock up on Holy Icons. Make sure Mass Production is installed. Set as many 5* equipments to Divine Summon as you can, then bring 40 Dives, an Exit, and fill the rest of your inventory with 5* items. Head to MA Beginner and use all your Dives, making sure to kill a few things to level up along the way. When you get to 40F and above, Burst all your 5* equipments and Exit once that's done. You should have enough to fill your Divinigram with all +5 Holy Icons.

18. Clear EX-3 and EX-4 with your 5* equipment.

19. Run MA Advanced a couple of times and get your 5*s to +69 or close to it. Defeat Zeus as well. If you have Bursted +69 equips, start synthesizing them to other 5*s.

20. Once you have mostly synthesized gear, clear EX-5 and EX-6. Try to get a 6* Great Sword from the minions in EX-6's boss fight. If you want to be safe, get 2 of them.

21. Get 3 of each type of 5* gear to +69 and Bursted, then synthesize them onto some good 5* gear and your 6* Great Sword. Strengthen these fully synthesized gears to around +50.

22. Set the Burst Down artifact onto your Divinigram and feed it 4 God Energies (With this you always get 1% Burst every time you kill an enemy, regardless of level difference). Set up your Divinigram so you have mostly DEF Holy Icons and try to get the title of 'SuperAlloy God'. Make sure you can place Violent Hunger, Sniping, Practice Swings, and Full Power on your Divinigram.

23. Buy about 5-20 Revive Gems and start your MA EX Advanced run. Not much should be able to challenge you and there should be no danger of dying with so many Revive Gems.

24. When you hit floor 190, make sure you have Sniping, Violent Hunger, Full Power, and Practice Swings installed. Also get all your main gear close to Bursting and have EN be at 0% and God Mode ready to use before entering floor 200. Beat Yamato.

25. From this point you just need to clean up whatever trophies you have left. If you don't have 2 of every arm weapon or are missing a few items, you can Dive to floor 60 and keep checking the shop every 10 floors for goods. Use the Suspend Save trick at floor 60 if you want.

Started this last night.

Seems good.. but I hate how the first 2 chapters so far.. Every floor is a damn cutscene.. I'd like to enjoy playing the game instead of getting a 5 minute scene after each small bit... Kind of annoying..

But so far.. the humor is good, and I like how the game plays.

Guide should be useful, but also good to see I can just play the game how I feel until NG+.

Again, thanks for the guide - it's quite helpful!

Another note on a trophy, though:

the "God Likes It Rough" trophy (Obtained when using the enemy boost shop), apparently does not (need to be) unlocked in the last chapter of the game; as per your guide.

I've yet to get my ('Fulfilliing the wish of the 8th believer') trophy -and- I already have "God likes it Rough"...you can see my trophies under my PSN; disgaeniac account.

I'm *guessing* that it may instead be based on # of enemies killed/floors entered/ total levels, etc.

I've updated all the corrected suggestions. Boss Data and other strategies/preparation should be coming eventually. I'm rather busy this week and don't feel very motivated to work on it right now, but it'll happen eventually.

If anybody has any questions/suggestions just let me know and I'll try to address them.

Again, thanks for the guide - it's quite helpful!

My guess then would be number of times you entered a dungeon, but I can't really confirm it. Hopefully somebody else can shed some more light on this matter.

@ Greenzsaber -

So...I just beat the "Main" game.

Can you give me an 'estimate' of how long it took you from that point to get the plat?

Thanks!

It depends on what you did before beating the game, but it will typically take about 80-100 hours for postgame stuff. I don't know how much using the various exploits (like autoleveling) will lower the time, since I didn't try them before plat, but it seems like it'll cut down at least 10 hours of active playing.
