  • Minimum number of playthroughs needed: 2 playthroughs
  • Number of missable trophies: None via Chapter Select
  • Glitched trophies: None

  • Does difficulty affect trophies?: Yes, must complete the DLC on Insane Difficulty

About the DLC Expansion:

Duke Nukem Forever: The Doctor Who Cloned Me is the first single player DLC released. It's a definite improvement of the main game's campaign. Trophy wise, it's an easy 100% to add to your collections. Get ready to Hail to the same lengthy loading times between levels again baby.

Step One: Complete the game on Easy or Normal Difficulty while Collecting Collectibles and Combat related trophies

During this step, you'll want to focus on acquiring all the collectibles, kills and miscellaneous trophies. The difficulty trophies in the game will all stack, so it doesn't matter whether you choose to play on the Easy difficulty over the Normal difficulty. Easy difficulty will make getting the kill related trophies much easier for you though, while Normal (or Hard) will simply prepare you for Insane, slightly. The single player campaign should take you about an average of 4 to 6 hours to complete.

Step Two: Complete the game on Insane Difficulty using Chapter Select

Before you start this step, you should have all the Ego Cap Rewards by this point and the
I Am All That Is Man - Again!
(B)
trophy unlocked. If you still don't have that trophy unlocked yet, then go back to each chapter that you've missed an Ego cap reward(s) via Chapter Select. You'll see how many Ego Caps you have already discovered in the bottom right hand corner on each chapter. Having all of the Ego cap rewards will make your Insane playthrough much easier.

When you're ready to begin your Insane difficulty playthrough, you don't want to use New Game. Selecting New Game will reset and erase all of your Ego cap rewards. By using the Chapter Select, you'll get to keep all your Ego cap rewards for a maxed out Ego Health Gauge meter throughout your whole Insane playthrough, which makes Insane much easier. Unlike the original main campaign, this Insane isn't as tough, but there are some parts that might be difficult especially the new bosses if you don't have strategies to kill them. As you continue onward, the new powerful weapons added to the DLC will help you out. Not to mention that there are a lot of checkpoints. After this step is completed, you'll have the
Damn, I'm REALLY Good
(B)
trophy as well as the other difficulty trophies.

Step Three: Clean Up

During this final step, you want to get all other trophies you may have missed. If you followed my roadmap precisely, then there's a chance that you might be missing the
Scientits
(B)
trophy as this trophy can be frustrating to get while playing through the game or you might have missed a miscellaneous trophy or two along the way. So use chapter select to finish your completion to 100%.

Kill 10 expanded enemies with melee attacks

You'll need the Expander gun for this trophy. You'll first get this gun during the beginning of "Going Down". After you enter the vents and shoot the fire extinguisher. Pick up the Expander and run around and shoot then melee attack the alien that you shot with the expander. They will explode from your melee attacks. Rinse and repeat this 10 times for the trophy. The only problem with this trophy is that there aren't enough enemies in the area. The second time you'll get this weapon is at the near end of the game in "Teleportation Spire". The good thing is that all your kills will still count even if you died or restart the checkpoint.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/730/53.jpg Threesome (B)

Kill 3 enemies within 3 seconds with the Impregnader

You'll need the Impregnator gun for this trophy. This gun has ammo regeneration similar to the Freeze Gun found in the original game, but be careful with it as it can harm you if you shoot the floor or wall you're standing on or next to. You'll first get this gun during the "Me, Myself, and I", where you'll be place into arena matches against Duke Clones and aliens. On the third level of the arena matches, you'll get the Impregnator weapon against alien Impregnators. You can unlock the trophy here if you wish by spraying at them, but it's much easier to wait until the floor section opens up. Crawl through the floor passage tunnels and into the vent and turn right, melee open the vent cover and drop down into the room filled with Duke Clones. Spray them all down and you'll unlock the trophy.

Let 20 enemies die by someone else's hand

This is an exclusive PS3 only trophy and it’s a simple trophy as long as you know where to unlock it at. This trophy can be obtained at the very start of the DLC. After you break out of the torture room (CoD Black Ops reference) and have terminated the Terminator; proceed on through destruction and enter the room with the first Ego cap reward of the toilet, while hearing a lot of gunfire and explosions going on outside. After you’ve gotten the 1st Ego cap reward, go into the corridor and look out of the window. You'll see EDF soldiers killing aliens outside of the facility. Simply do nothing and the trophy will shortly unlock after a few minutes of waiting. I timed it and mine unlocked at 5:44 minutes (on Easy), so wait a good 5-10 minutes and the trophy will pop on its own. There are also other places where you can obtain this trophy and the kills seem to carry over.

Kill 30 enemies with the moon rover

Self-explanatory. Just run over every alien you see on the very last level "Duke Side of the Moon" and your trophy will unlock.

Finish Doctor Proton

Story related and can't be missed.

Doctor Proton is an old nemesis of Duke and is the one who cloned the evil Dukes. As always, you'll need a Devastator or a Rocket Launcher in order to defeat the boss. There are two ammo crates in the room so make use of them when low on ammo. The Doctor mainly has only three attacks of a laser beam, chain gun and pipe bombing. Simply circle around him while shooting at either of his two weak points (the red circles). When he takes enough damage he'll run to one of the machine stations to regenerate his health. When this happens, run up to his station and flip the switch to have the balls explode causing him to stop regenerating his health. Rinse and repeat the dodging of his attacks, the shooting of his weak points, and flipping the switches until you've depleted his health meter and are prompted to "Finish him" by pressing the
:square:
button and then repeatedly tap the
:cross:
button to break his head off the machine. Your trophy will unlock along with your Ego cap reward.

Beat The Doctor Who Cloned me on Insane Difficulty

Insane is unlocked by completing the game at least once on any other difficulty. After that step is done, I highly recommend that you discovered all the Ego cap rewards in the game, so you can start your Insane playthrough with a maxed out Ego Gauge meter. Once you've completed the game the trophy will unlock at the main menu screen as well as the other difficulty trophies.

Tips:

  • Take cover behind crates, walls, etc to avoid getting shot from alien fire.
  • Take it slow and don't go rushing through the chapters like Rambo. You'll die much faster that way and will see the long loading screen far too many times.
  • Save your Beers, Holoduke, and Steroids and only use them when necessary, such as boss fights.
  • Execute aliens when given the opportunity as executions will refill your Ego Gauge meter to 100% full.
  • Search for the EDF crates/boxes for extra supplies such as a Holoduke and to refill your ammunition.
  • Use only the pistol, shotgun, ripper, devastator, and Impregnader weapons as they will get the job done.
  • After killing Doctor Proton, keep the Devastator and a Ripper as your guns all the way up to "The Burning Bush" due to the fact that there are a lot of ammo refill EDF crates after defeating the Doctor.
  • Save your pipe bombs and only use them to kill group of enemies packed together or the stronger aliens. Using Trip Mines are somewhat pointless in this mode.
  • Try to aim for the head on aliens as they die much quicker.
  • Make use of strafing left and right for this helps you dodge gunfire.
  • Try not to get melee attacked or grabbed by an alien on insane for this will greatly damage you near death.
  • Some later chapters will have lockers that you can melee open to find items such as ammunition or special items such as a beer or a holoduke.

The Return of the "Duke 3D Freeze Ray" Cheat:

  • Yes, the Freeze Ray gun can be found in the DLC. It's only obtained near the very end of the game on "Teleportation Spire". Once you begin the chapter and go through the door where the enemies will eventually spawn, look on the crate towards your left in front of you for the Freeze Ray. If you've completed the original game on Medium or higher then you should have a cheat in Extra Game Settings menu called "Duke 3D Freeze Ray". This cheat makes the Freeze Ray shoot ice projectiles that bounce from objects and deals more damage to the enemies. The Freeze Ray will lose it's ability to refill its ammo automatically but you can simply turn it off to have it regenerate the ammo again. Once it's fully charged, turn the cheat back on to continue freezing aliens. You can also use the EDF ammo crates to refill as well. This gun will make the very last two chapters much easier for you, especially on Insane difficulty.

Strategy to killing the Alien Empress:

  • This is the final boss fight and it's too simple to defeat her. All you have to do is stay in the moon rover and hit her legs that glow red. It'll explode and then 1 to 3 enemies will spawn, so simply run them over. After you killed the enemies that spawned, return to hitting her in the legs again and rinse and repeat this another 3 more times over again. After you reduced her health down by 50%, you'll have to jump the moon rover into her "hole" (and be quick or her health will refill back to 100%). Once inside her, reduce the health of her "ovaries" by 50% with the devastator on the ground. Once you've dealt enough damage to it, she'll spit you out, so do everything you just did all over again for a second time; until you destroyed her second and last "ovaries". Now it's time to test her "gagging reflexes" by driving the moon diver into her month to finish her off.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/730/56.jpg Scientits (B)

Earn a 1,000,000 pinball score on the Scientits pinball machine

Yes, the developers heard the complaints and threw the pinball machine back into the game. This is the hardest trophy in the game once again and the worst thing about it...It's even harder than the original pinball machine. The Scientits pinball machine is found in the arcade game room in "The Burning Bush". Walk up to the pinball machine and interact with it by pressing the :square: button. The controls are still the same of:

  • :l1: flips the left flipper
  • :r1: flips the right flipper
  • :ls: tilts the machine to save your ball
  • :rs: launches pinball

There's only one strategy to earning a 1,000,000 pinball score. The strategy revolves around the right flipper and the upper right bell. Simply continue to hit all four boards that you see on the right side and try to hit the bell along with them. Repeating this until you have 1,000,000 and the trophy will be yours. Remember to wait a few seconds after you hit all four boards so they can reset back into their places. Hitting the bell will reset the wall that you see in the lower right corner back into its place. This can help you save your ball just in case it falls there. Always continue to hold down both the :l1: and :r1: buttons as those positions usually catch your pinball. Whenever you're about to lose your pinball try tilting the machine with the :ls: button to help attempt to save it, but be careful not to over tilt. If you over use the tilting, the machine will lock your flippers and you'll lose control of them, thus losing your pinball. It doesn't matter which way you tilt it as you'll need to make use of either pressing :lsleft: or :lsright: to save your pinball.

Before attempting this method, I suggest you practice the trick out first and once you've gotten the rhythm down try scoring a multiplier of X2, X4, or if lucky enough X6 combo. These will double your scores for you and will lessen the work needed to be done. A multiplier of X2 can get the job done, but the multiplier of X4 will most likely guarantee that you earn your 1,000,000 score. The only problem with this is that it's difficult to hit the red dots that give you the multiplier combo, due to her tits being in the way. Keep trying and you'll get the combo scores multiplier, and then do the strategy mentioned above.

An Additional Tip:

  • If you're finding it difficult to tilt the table with the :ls:, then try changing the game settings to tilting the game table with :rs: instead. How can I do this? Press :start: and go to "Options", and then "Controls". You'll see "SWAP left & right stick" so check the box and now you can tilt the pinball table with :rsleft: and :rsright: instead.

This is another exclusive PS3 only trophy, in "The Burning Bush" walk into the room with the arcade game machines and the Scientits pinball machine. Interact with the "Pimpslap 5000: When telling her once isn't enough" by pressing the :square: button. Duke will make a comment saying that he's not going to play the video game, thus unlocking the trophy.

Discover all Ego cap rewards in The Doctor Who Cloned Me

Ego cap rewards have made a return, so as you already know these rewards will increase your Ego Gauge meter, which means you'll be able to take more damage for every reward you discovered. There are a total of 19 Ego caps rewards to discover by interacting with the environments. You can keep track of how many you've missed for each level in the Chapter Select. Below is a list of all objects that you must interact with:

  • Rude Awakening - 1
    • After leaving the torture room, use the toilet that you see in the next room.

    [*]Going Down - 1

    • After killing the 1st patch of enemies, you'll enter a room with a dead scientist. Look at the porno magazine on the desk.

    [*]In Security - 2

    • After jumping out of the vents, examine the computer for porno.
    • After searching for porno on the computer, turn around and drink the bottle of beer.

    [*]The Clone Carousel - 1

    • After the Terminator battle in the room with the mounted turret; continue on into the next room and climb up both the staircase to examine the porno magazine on the desk.

    [*]Me, Myself, and I - 9

    • In Skill Training room; shoot the basketball into the hop. I suggest standing in front of it for better results.
    • In Melee Training room; punch the punching bag
    • In Melee Training room; admire yourself in the mirror.
    • In Melee Training room; use the pull up bar after admiring yourself in the mirror.
    • In Melee Training room; go over to the Duke clone and win/break his arm in an arm wrestling match.
    • In Weight Training room; curl a dumbbell weight.
    • In Weight Training room; lift the weights in front of the mirror.
    • In Weight Training room; place all 6 weights onto the empty bench press, then lift it up.
    • Story related; use the glowing switch and grab the film reel and insert it into reel the projector.

[*]The Doctor Is In - 1

    • Story related; defeat the boss.

    [*]Magic Carpet Ride - 1

    • After making it past the enemies and using the ladder to climb out of the elevator. You'll find a glowing switch, flip the switch and turn around and enter the door behind you. Kill the two Pig Cops aliens and go down the walkway and turn left to find a dart board. Grab a dart and step back and throw the dart onto the dart board.

    [*]The Burning Bush - 2

    • Earn a 250,000 pinball score on the Scientits pinball machine
    • Complete the Duke Nukem machine (more like Space Invaders). There's only three levels and defeat the Boss

[*]Duke Side of the Moon - 1

    • After your moon rover is broken down and you have to remove its power cell, search the ground nearby it for the American flag. It's the moon rover that has the EDF ammo crate right next to the moon rover.

Scientits is FAR easier than the pinball machines in the main game. I got a million on both, but if anyone can't do it on the Nukem machines, try it on Scientits, you might get both trophies.

I got it on the first try, second ball. I had over 600k on one ball. Once you get it on the right flipper it's easy as pie. You don't even need to use Tilt.

Is the dlc worth buying :)?

in my opinion yah, the boards look cool and its fun to play they made it pretty easy even on insane difficulty it doesnt tick you off like the regular game does the only part im having trouble with is the last leader on insane because i dont have the right weapons and i used my holoduke on accident at the wrong time. this is also great dlc if your a duke fan it sticks true to the old game. if your a person who likes something that is really challenging where you die over and over then this isnt for you because theres only a few spots that are really rough in the dlc. theres tons of boards but there very short they prob could of made one long board but divided it into sections

i agree although u do need tilt a little bit once that bumper dissapears on the right. when it does just tilt and hit the button to make it reappear once i learned that trick then i was good. also i learned for both pinball machines dont even bother with the tilt trick until you get 2 4 or 6 multiplier just keep playing and tilting until one of those light up before you do the tilt trick to the side. i also tilted when the ball was near the top just to get the 2 4 or 6

id like to add make sure you have the weapons you want to use on the boss before the last level and try to save a holoduke. the second time your inside the boss those fucking octabrains will mess u up bad trying to use the rpg they have laying on the ground and no matter how fast you kill them they seem to keep appearing

do you need the duke nukem forever disc to play the dlc?? i traded in my copy months ago but wouldnt mind playing this if i didnt have to have the disc.

I did the same thing as you, only I had gotten Duke through gamefly back when it first came out. So I was able to get A used copy for less then $5 just to play the DLC.

Edit: I haven't gotten DLC yet, but I plan to soon.

Nothing to do at all with the thread.

Why the hell there are never golds on dlc release?

Always bronzes and silvers (sometimes)...

Except for LA Noire and Dead Nation, I didn't see any.

Thank you for the guide. Very clear and helpful.

Found the DLC quite easy. A 4/10 at most. Insane is very simple, there are so few actual combat areas. I'd be surprised if there were 200 enemies total and the two bosses are cake.

Granted its been a long time since I played the main game, but it had some hard parts, especially some of the bosses.

I got stuck only in one part, on Magic Carpet Ride. Otherwise I only died a couple of times when I fell off something :wall:

Scientits is quite easy compared to the main game. I ended up with 2.7 million. Just couldn't quit on a roll

As for time, I'm thinking this is more 6ish hours. Probably about 4 the first play through, but I timed my insane run and it was just over 2 hours. This was with the benefit of your Ego cap locations.

The biggest challenge was figuring out what to do in some parts. Seriously, at times I was like :wtf: The game could do a better job giving you some directions.

13 hours does seem a bit on the long side. I can see needing more if you don't have a collectables guide. Unless you're counting 5 hours staring at the digital titties :poke:

Those Burning Bush babes were easy on the eyes :p

Good guide but I do have some pointers :):

1: Scientits is ridiculously easy as the table is lot more open with less junk to get in the way of the ball. This took me 10 mins compared to 3-4hrs for Balls of Steel. Here's a video that shows how to both it and Threesome:

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bCAHrRvXh0k]Duke Nukem Forever: The Doctor Who Cloned Me - Threesome, Scientits - YouTube[/ame]

I got Threesome in the same Training Room where you get the Impregnator, just wait for the final wave when there are 6 Pregnators then get them in a group and let them have it :).

2: There are no "PS3 exclusive trophies", all platforms have the same list.

3: Doctor Proton is easy but the fight before you get to him is a pain thanks to the Suicide Drones that follow you around. To deal with these I would use the Devastator then use a HoloDuke as well for the final couple of waves. For Doctor Proton, you only have to keep the pillars between you and him to avoid his Machine Gun and Laser.

4: For the final boss you really need to get the Devastator (this can be found inbetween some Pregnator Eggs behind the EDF Ammo chest). The Devastator really comes into its own when taking down the final Ovary as there are several Octabrains in the area.

5: For the Duke Nukem Space Invaders mini-game you have to keep the :ls: at a slight diagonal angle and don't fire too frequently, else the controls will jam.

6: There is a really nasty bug with this DLC i.e if you save in the main game then play the DLC, your main game Auto Save will be erased and you'll have to redo that level from scratch :(.

7: The load times are nowhere near as bad as they once were thanks to the 1.02 and 1.03 patches. There are only a couple of levels where the load times are on the long side though I can't remember off-hand which they are.

8: The estimated time to Completion is a little off, I did it in roughly 10hrs but it really shouldn't take you any longer than that. I better estimate would be 5-10hrs, depending on skill :).

Thanks again for the guide. Got all the DLC including pinball trophies on easy. Just need to do the insane play through now for the rest of the 3 difficulty trophies. Only took me about 45 minutes to get the pinball 1million. Got the 6X bonus and Ding! Probably do the other difficulties another time because a group is starting another game but the guide was perfect.

Edit: Just finished the insane play through. Did it in one night in about 5 1/2 hours. Had a ball with the new 100%.
