Road Map:

Overview:

  • Estimated trophy difficulty: 5/10 (personal opinion)
  • Offline trophies: 4 (4(B))
  • Online trophies: 0
  • Approximate amount of time to 100%: 4hrs+.
  • Minimum number of playthroughs: 2, one for each Chapter.
  • Number of missable trophies: 2, Arachnophobia and Developer.
  • Glitched trophies: Technically all of them due to the save file deletion bug but it's mainly Arachnophobia and Developer that may be a bit dodgy. Also see the Glitch Notes below for additional bugs.
  • Does difficulty affect trophies?: Indirectly yes, the main game and Ranger Mode DLC difficulties feed into this DLC and can make life very difficult so play on Easy.
  • Do trophies stack?: No.
  • Do cheat codes disable trophies?: There are no cheats.

Introduction:

The Developer Pack is the third of the 4 Season Pass DLCs and sees you playing as 2 unnamed soldiers. In the first Chapter (SPIDER LAIR) you get separated from your two team-mates and awaken sometime later hanging upside-down in an unknown part of the Metro and encased in some kind of spider's webbing. The second Chapter (Developer Pack) sees you arrive at an unnamed training facility somewhere in the Metro, here you have a standard SHOOTING RANGE with fixed and living targets along with a live fire ARENA. In both cases it's just you versus hordes of enemies and you have limited ammo. The Shooting Range isn't very hard since it's difficult for enemies to hurt you but the Arena is a whole different matter since the scenery is destructible and enemies will do anything to find and kill you.

The reason for the 4hrs+ time to 100% is that it takes roughly an hour to finish the SPIDER LAIR Chapter, you have to spend 3hrs in the Developer Pack Chapter to get the Developer trophy and there's the possibility that both it and the Arachnophobia trophies are glitched as well as being missable but I will explain more about those in the Guide under the respective trophies. I gave this a 5/10 for difficulty because when it's easy it's really easy but when it's hard, it's really hard.

The first Chapter is designed to provide some back story to certain events in the main game, therefore I strongly advise waiting until you have finished the main game before starting the SPIDER LAIR. The Developer Pack Chapter is meant more for testing your skills then telling a story so you can do it at any time without spoiling the main game. To actually start the DLC you need to have the 1.02 patch installed and played at least the first Chapter in the main game, then go: Main Menu => Chapters => press :circle: to open the "New Missions" menu. The Chapters do not automatically follow on from each other, therefore changing Chapters before you have the trophies for any given Chapter will wipe your progress thanks to the poor save system (more on that below).

Glitch Notes:

Unfortunately this DLC suffers from some of the same problems as the main game and the Ranger Mode DLC:

- Trophy list deletion: This bug was relatively rare but now Metro: Last Light is available via PS+, more and more people are reporting that their Trophy list for this game gets deleted when the game crashes. The odds of hitting this bug are still low but be prepared as there is a chance you may never get some of your trophies back. To mitigate any fallout from this bug, sync your trophies the moment you get them but quit to the XMB to do so as being signed into PSN seems to make the game more unstable.

- Random freezing: The freezing usually happens at load screens and in the menus but can strike on the XMB seconds after exiting the game. In rare cases the freezing can cause save file corruption. Because the saves for Metro: Last Light are locked, you need either a PS+ Subscription so you can use the Save File Cloud or an external drive you can do a full Hard Drive backup to. The Cloud is the recommended option because then you only have to upload/download 1 file, rather than having to backup/restore your entire Hard Drive every time. Playing offline can help ease the amount of freezing, though it won't prevent it from happening.

Due to an incredibly nasty bug this DLC introduces, it is now likely your save will delete itself if/when the game crashes so it is imperative you make frequent backups. To reduce the chances of your game crashing and your save disappearing, I strongly recommend exiting directly to the XMB instead of the Main Menu (press the :ps: button => scroll down to "Quit Game" => press :cross: => select "Yes") as the freezing mainly happens when you try to quit the game.

- Checkpoint issues: It's possible you may get unlucky and find yourself with limited/no supplies due to a poorly placed Checkpoint. If you get into a situation like this then use melee and stealth moves wherever possible, loot the bodies you find and pray they have either filters, ammo or another gun. If things get really bad then you will have to decide if you want to restart the entire Chapter or restore a save file backup. If you choose to restore a backup from the Cloud, then please note you can only do this once every 24hrs due to the time restriction the Cloud imposes on locked saves.

- Auto Save wiping: This problem is exclusive to the Season Pass DLCs. What this means is if you load a save from the main game then exit and play a DLC mission, your main game Auto Save will be wiped and replaced with the one you just created for the DLC. I don't know if this is a bug or just lousy game design but it sucks all the same so ensure you've finished the main game before starting the DLCs.

- Gatling gun jamming: This is a highly irritating bug that can prove fatal if it happens during the later waves of the SHOOTING RANGE and ARENA. I recommend not using this weapon at all since it eats ammo for Breakfast and takes ages to spin-up, even when using the pre-spin function (press and hold :r1:). There is no fix for this glitch other than starting restarting the Chapter from scratch because even replacing the gun then picking it up again won't fix the problem.

- Gamma (brightness) issues: The Gamma in this game is really bad at times, even with the in-game Gamma maxed out so I advise you also turn up the Gamma/Brightness of your TV to enable you to see better.

General notes:

- All the pictures used in this guide were created by myself (Terminator). The copyright on these pictures refers to our site (playstationtrophies.org) and not any others with the same or similar name.

- Even though the trophy descriptions say complete X Level, I'll be calling them Chapters as that's what they're called in-game.

- Since the save system in this game is an Auto Save based one, you must finish your current Chapter before moving on else you will lose all your progress (unless you have a backup handy).

- As with the main game and the other trophy DLCs, your health will regenerate over time after you take damage so hide (if possible) until it recovers.

- I'm unsure if you can get any of the trophies from the main game whilst playing this DLC, if you can then please let me know.

- All the controls mentioned in this guide are based on the default settings.

- See here for some misc information: LINK

Walkthrough:

Steps 1+2 are interchangeable, I've only listed them the way I have because then they're in the same order as in the New Missions menu.

Step 1: Complete the SPIDER LAIR Chapter and get the Arachnophobia trophy as well

The SPIDER LAIR Chapter isn't hard but it's very glitchy and freeze prone so save and make backups after every couple of Auto Saves. Arachnophobia is possibly glitched as I had to kill 40+ spiders before the trophy popped but I've also been told that only certain types of spider count so any extra clarification would be appreciated.

Step 2: Get the Specialist and Developer trophies

Here is where you will be spending the majority of your time in this DLC.

The SHOOTING RANGE isn't hard but the last couple of waves can be tricky since the A.I is pretty accurate. The ARENA is much harder due to the increasingly aggressive/accurate A.I and limited ammo but is still doable providing you take your time and don't go in guns blazing. Since there is no fast way to get the Developer trophy, you will have to take your time doing the SHOOTING RANGE and ARENA Challenges but you can also pay a visit to the Museum and look at all the used and unused concepts for the game.

You can do the SHOOTING RANGE or the ARENA first as they're both unlocked from the start but I recommend doing the ARENA second so you have a chance to get used to the weapons and controls.

Step 3: Clean up

You will only need this Step if Arachnophobia and Developer glitch or something bad happens to your save.

Trophy Guide:

Complete the SPIDER LAIR level.

Story Related, cannot be missed.

Notes:

- Whenever I say "supplies", it's meant as a catch all phase to cover any ammo, fuel, filters and gas masks that are in the area.

- "QTE" stands for "Quicktime Event".

[spoiler=TtF]After the unskippable intro cutscene, turn round and make your way out of the spider nest by following the path round to the right and descending a stairwell. You will now be in a tunnel and there's a gas mask filter and a Shotgun shell about half way in, turn right then enter the small room that's facing you and turn on the lantern (press :square: on it). In the lantern room will be some Shotgun shells and filters, exit the room; there are some medkits to the far right so pick those up then round and follow the tunnel round to the left. Further on you will find more Shotgun shells and some spider corpses near a stairwell with steps going down with more ammo on the middle landing, at the bottom you want to follow the tunnel to right and round until you find another room with a lantern in it. Turn on the lantern to kill all the spiders that are in there then pick up all the ammo and health you can find, now head through the cobwebs in front of the lantern and open the door there (press :square: on it) and pick up the medkit that's in front of you. At the entrance to the nearby short corridor is a truck with a lamp on it, turn it on to scare off the spiders then you can safely grab the nearby supplies at your leisure. After picking up all the supplies you can find, walk to the end of the tunnel and turn right then pick up the Flamethrower fuel; climb the nearby ramp and crouch (press :circle:) to enter the narrow tunnel that's in front of you.

Keep moving through the tunnel until you automatically exit it but now you will have to run like crazy (press and hold :l3:) since you've just landed in a nest full of hatching spider eggs. At the end of this sequence, walk forward until you see a Flashlight on the floor, at this point the game will take over and initiate a QTE (press :square: as rapidly as you can). With the QTE over with, turn round and open the door behind the cobwebs then go through it and the subsequent room and quickly turn on the lantern in the second room to kill all the spiders therein (there's some Flamethrower fuel in one corner along with a few Shotgun shells so pick them up). When you're done collecting everything, go through the open door and carry on forward until you see an opening to your right (they'll be a corpse leant against it with a gas mask you can take if needed). Head inside but before you take the Ashot that's holding the door shut, make sure you pick up all the supplies that are lying around then power on the Power Box that's on the wall to the left of the door (killing all the spiders in both rooms in the process). Before you open the door in the next room, make sure you pick up the Flamethrower fuel to the left of it. After opening the door you will see a lever on the wall in front of you but put your gas mask on before pulling the lever (press and hold :l2: then press :square:), else you will suffocate to death once the big door opens.

On the other side of the door is a chamber full of spiders so keep your Flashlight on and recharge it if needed (press and hold :l2: then press :left: on the D-pad, now press :r1: repeatedly until it's fully charged), spiders hate bright lights so your Flashlight will scare off/kill them if you focus on them long enough. Once all the spiders are either dead or scared off, enter the tunnel on one side of the chamber but watch out for a booby trap (this can be disabled by pressing :square: on the wire). Both the chamber and tunnel have supplies so pick them up before exiting the area by climbing the ladder at the end of the tunnel. Watch out for spiders at the top of the ladder but you can kill some of them with the booby trap at the other end of the nearby tunnel (press :square: on it then get out of the blast radius). The gantry in the next area has some Shotgun shells on one side and a new gas mask on the other, now head into the tunnel at the other end then take a left turn into a side room when you hit a dead end. In this side room you will trigger a short cutscene where you obtain the Flamethrower but you will have to pump it first before it can be used (press and hold :l2: then press :right: on the D-pad, now press :r1: repeatedly until the air gauge is maxed out). With the Flamethrower equipped, exit the room you're in but before turning left; pick up the two bottles of Flamethrower fuel then torch the wall of spider gunk and collect the Shotgun ammo from the corpse that's revealed:

http://i.imgur.com/ruRnUA8.png

With the path now clear, you're free to use the lift but switch out the Flamethrower for the Ashot first as you don't want to waste ammo by getting trigger happy. When the lift stops, you will be attacked almost immediately by a horde of spiders so make a dash for the ladder that's directly in front of you and climb up it. The gantry you're now on has lots supplies so pick them up before making your way into the missile silo (make sure you pick up the medkit and Shotgun shells in the adjoining passage). The gantry up to the next level has several spiders so try your best to outrun them but also try to collect the supplies that nearby as you'll need them later. Once you get up top, enter the tunnel and disable the booby trap in the room to your left then take all the supplies it contains. Now pull the lever on the wall next to the big metal door and once the gantry has lowered into place, you're free to continue. Once on the gantry you will be attacked by another horde of spiders but there's too many to run from so you'll have to kill them, remember to use only your Flashlight and not your Flamethrower. Directly in front of where you enter the upper floor is a room where entry is barred by more of the spider gunk, torch it then enter the room and pick up all the supplies as you're going to need them.

This next area is where the Chapter starts to get glitchy and the framerate will take a nosedive so be careful. Exit the storage room and turn right, pick up the filters and Flamethrower fuel and open the door in the little passage to your right. Once your through the door take a left and enter the small office but do not activate the container on the desk as it's booby trapped and will blow up in your face, instead look in the corner to the right of the door and open the far left and right lockers as they contain filters and a new gas mask. There's also a bottle of Flamethrower fuel in one of the overturned lockers. Exit the office but before ascending the stairs, collect the Flamethrower fuel and filters that nearby. On the first landing you will trigger another QTE, press :square: repeatedly to finish it so you can move on. Go through the door at the top of the stairs then turn right and carry on walking until you see a room on your right, enter this room and pick up all the supplies you can carry. Once you're done, exit the room and turn left then carry on walking until you see a switch on the wall to your right. Press :square: on the switch to activate the next gantry but the gantry is jammed, to unjam it you have to torch the spider gunk that's in the way. Once the gantry is down, you will be attacked by some spiders so either outrun or kill them. On the far right of the gantry is a ladder, climb up it then head to the passage at the other end where you'll have 2 lots of spider gunk blockages to torch but watch out for the second one as torching it may detonate a booby trap in the adjoining room. In the room to your right are some supplies including some Flamethrower fuel so collect as much as you can carry, then exit and turn left and carry on until you arrive in another stairwell.

Now head up the stairs to the next floor but at the top, go into the room on your right before opening the door and stock up on more supplies. On your right just after you go through the door there will be some filters on the floor so pick them up and head over to the far side of the gantry, torch the big pile of spider gunk then climb the ladder and pick up the Flamethrower fuel on the floor in front of you. If you need more filters or another gas mask then there some at both ends of the corridor. Now head to the left and open the door to the left of the gas mask and filters, enter the room but watch out for a booby trap that's nearby. You want to find the Power Box in a nearby side room and power it on so you can gain entry to the final area. There are 3-4 cans of Flamethrower fuel near the Power Box so pick them all up, there's also a new gas mask in the same room as the Power Box if it's needed. Once you've collected everything you need, head outside and activate the switch on the wall opposite to lower the final gantry. Head across the gantry into the Missile Control Room and look for the kiosk bathed in blue light, when you find it you need to pull the lever on the control panel (press :square: on it) to call the lift. Once the lever is pulled, dozens and dozens of spiders will attack, hold them off until the lift arrives then get in and watch the ending cutscene. The trophy will pop during or just after the Ending cutscene.

Kill 20 spiders with your flame thrower.

Possibly glitched, also missable

Notes:

- This trophy can only be obtained in the SPIDER LAIR Chapter.

- The description has a typo in it, "flame thrower" should be spelt "Flamethrower" as that's how it is spelt in-game.

- The bottles/cans of fuel will blink in the dark so you'll know them when you see them.

As I said in the Road Map, I'm not certain if this trophy is glitched or not as I had to redo the SPIDER LAIR Chapter 2-3 times before getting the trophy to pop but others have said they got it first time. If this trophy is not glitched, then below are two pictures of what does and doesn't count towards it:

Counts (no tail):

http://i.imgur.com/51o5yID.png

Doesn't count (has tail):

http://i.imgur.com/YVjSCSK.png

The Flamethrower is found during a story related moment, thus it's unmissable but you will have to pump it first before it can be used (press and hold :l2: and press :right: on the D-pad then press :r1: repeatedly until the air gauge is completely full). After collecting it, do not use it unless you're truly stuck or the game forces you to use it (see Through the Fire for the forced sections), this is because there is limited ammo and using it without good reason will leave you short on ammo and unable to get the trophy. To conserve Flamethrower ammo, use your Flashlight and stun enemies with your Ashot so you can run straight by them.

Here's what the 3 Flamethrower fuel container variants look like (take note of the Flame icon):

Variant 1:

Variant 2:

http://i.imgur.com/loGLMAV.png

Variant 3:

http://i.imgur.com/0rRzHWC.png

The best place to get this trophy is right near the end of the Chapter after you activate the lift, do not enter it when it arrives but rather you should equip the Flamethrower and torch anything that moves. Until you get in the lift, the spiders will keep on spawning for a very long time so keep firing until you run out of ammo or until the trophy pops but ensure you keep your Flashlight turned off as you don't want that to kill the spiders before the Flamethrower does.

Complete the SHOOTING RANGE and ARENA.

Cannot be missed.

Notes:

- This trophy can only obtained in the Chapter called "Developer Pack".

- When using Pneumatic weapons, you will have to pump them regularly because they use up their air/pressure pretty quickly.

- There are other panels and buttons in each area but you need only concern yourself the Challenge activation boards and manual save points.

- Each time you resupply at the start/end of a Challenge, your medkits get refilled as well so take advantage of them if you get dangerously low on health.

Both areas have a Gun rack where you can choose/swap out/upgrade your weapons between Challenges, there will also be a supply crate or crates where you can resupply and a save point where you can make a manual save.

Manual save point example:

http://i.imgur.com/KWWuw3Z.png

Once activated, then the word "Save" will go red to indicate that it can't be used again for a while (which is about 2-3mins).

There are 10 Challenges in each area and below is a brief Guide to each one but for them to count towards the trophy, you have to activate them via the Challenge activation boards (the completed Challenges will turn green when completed):-

SHOOTING RANGE:

Challenge activation board (located to the left of the entrance to the range):

http://i.imgur.com/yxovZs2.png

Challenge 1 -

Recommended Weapon: The Hellbreath Railgun with the IR sight, Extended battery and Laser sight upgrades (you will need pump it first before use since the pressure will be low).

Target: 25 kills.

Time limit: 60 seconds.

Strategy: Your targets are large simple mobile dartboard style cutouts that move from side-to-side which aren't hard to to destroy and will go down in 1-2 shots but you do have to be careful since reloading will take precious seconds.

Challenge 2 -

Recommended Weapon: The Hellbreath Railgun with the IR sight, Extended battery and Laser sight upgrades.

Target: 25 kills.

Time limit: 60 seconds.

Strategy: This time your targets are a mixture of large and small cutouts along with target dummies. The cutouts aren't hard to destroy but the dummies can take a beating before going down so stick to the cutouts. If you line up your targets just right then you can take down 2 or 3 in one shot.

Challenge 3 -

Recommended Weapon: The Hellbreath Railgun with the IR sight, Extended battery and Laser sight upgrades.

Target: 25 kills.

Time limit: 60 seconds.

Strategy: As per Challenge 2.

Challenge 4 -

Recommended Weapon: The Hellbreath Railgun with the IR sight, Extended battery and Laser sight upgrades.

Target: 25 kills.

Time limit: 60 seconds.

Strategy: The targets for this challenge are the usual cutouts and dummies but this time some of the dummies are wearing armour and will take much longer to destroy so avoid them where possible. The cutouts will also be moving faster so you have to be much more careful when and where you shoot.

Challenge 5 -

Recommended Weapon: The Hellbreath Railgun with the IR sight, Extended battery and Laser sight upgrades.

Target: 25 kills.

Time limit: 60 seconds.

Strategy: As per Challenge 4.

Challenge 6 -

Recommended Weapon: The Hellbreath Railgun with the IR sight, Extended battery and Laser sight upgrades.

Target: 25 kills.

Time limit: 60 seconds.

Strategy: As per Challenge 4.

Challenge 7 -

Recommended Weapon: The Hellbreath Railgun with the IR sight, Extended battery and Laser sight upgrades.

Target: 25 kills.

Time limit: 60 seconds.

Strategy: As per Challenge 4. See here for an alternate method (credit to shathe): LINK

Challenge 8 -

Recommended Weapon: The Hellbreath Railgun with the IR sight, Extended battery and Laser sight upgrades.

Target: 25 kills.

Time limit: 60 seconds.

Strategy: You're going to be facing a roughly even amount of armoured dummies and the cutouts, go for headshots on the dummies to down them quicker.

Challenge 9 -

Recommended Weapon: The Hellbreath Railgun with the IR sight, Extended battery and Laser sight upgrades.

Target: 25 kills.

Time limit: 60 seconds.

Strategy: You're going to facing Undead soldiers that shoot back so stand by one of the side doors and peek out when you want to shoot. Your foes are going to be using Shotguns, SMGs and Assault Rifles so be careful where you stand as they can still hurt even at range.

Challenge 10 -

Recommended Weapon: The Hellbreath Railgun with the IR sight, Extended battery and Laser sight upgrades.

Target: 25 kills.

Time limit: 60 seconds.

Strategy: This is essentially the same as Challenge 9 but there are more enemies, who are far more accurate and tend to favour Shotguns over everything else so be careful.

Finish this Challenge then you'll be halfway through this trophy.

ARENA:

Note: There is no time limit here so you can relax a little bit and there is plenty of cover, though it will disintegrate when hit.

Challenge activation board (located at the back of the combat zone itself):

http://i.imgur.com/I4oRnuo.png

See this quote by Zealot for a safe(ish) spot you can hide in:

I found that most of the arena challenges were pretty easy. You can just camp crouched there in the far left corner (in the open part of the map, not in the alcove) as viewed from the balcony. Only a few soldiers will bother actually coming to look for you, which you can take care of with a shotgun and pick the rest off from range. I found they threw very few grenades and weren't very accurate when they did. The mutants will come to you where you can just one shot them point blank with a shotgun.

This strategy worked well right up to challenge 9, where I did have to start moving a bit more and challenge 10, which I moved around for most of the round.

Challenge 1 -

Recommended Weapon: The Hellbreath Railgun with the IR sight, Extended battery and Laser sight upgrades.

Target: 20 kills.

Strategy: Stay at the back where the Challenge activation board is and snipe your targets from there. Your enemies this time are all Human and will be using Revolvers, SMGs, Shotguns and Assault Rifles so take cover when necessary.

Challenge 2 -

Recommended Weapon: The Hellbreath Railgun with the IR sight, Extended battery and Laser sight upgrades.

Target: 25 kills.

Strategy: As per Challenge 1.

Challenge 3 -

Recommended Weapon: The Hellbreath Railgun with the IR sight, Extended battery and Laser sight upgrades.

Target: 30 kills.

Strategy: The strategy this time is similar to the last 2 Challenges but this time you have to contend with Incendiary Grenades as well, which will do a lot of damage if you get caught up in the blaze.

Challenge 4 -

Recommended Weapon: The Hellbreath Railgun with the IR sight, Extended battery and Laser sight upgrades.

Target: 35 kills.

Strategy: As well as the Human enemies, you now have to contend with Watchmen (listen for the howling) and these things can rip you apart very quickly so don't give them the chance. When going up against the Watchmen it's best to use hip fire (fire without aiming) so you have more time to correct your aim should you miss. As with before, it's best to stand as far back as you can and snipe your enemies from there.

Challenge 5 -

Recommended Weapons: The Hellbreath Railgun with the IR sight, Extended battery and Laser sight upgrades and the Kalash 2012 with the IR and Laser sight upgrades.

Target: 40 kills.

Strategy: Things are going to start getting hairy from now on because along with the enemies you've faced before, they are now going to start throwing grenades at you which will virtually kill you with one hit should you get caught in the explosion. You will also have to contend with enemies wearing heavy armour, these guys are much harder to kill so go for headshots. With so many enemies using flushing techniques, you will be forced to move around a lot more often so it's rare you'll have the luxury of being able to stay put. For the best chances of staying alive, use headshots where possible and avoid getting cornered.

Challenge 6 -

Recommended Weapons: The Hellbreath Railgun with the IR sight, Extended battery and Laser sight upgrades and the Kalash 2012 with the IR and Laser sight upgrades.

Target: 45 kills.

Strategy: As well as the previously met enemies (though no Watchmen this time), you will be facing Nosalis as well (listen for the snarling). The Nosalis are very dangerous and more than capable of killing you in a few seconds, kill these monsters from a distance before they get the chance to sink their claws into you. The other enemies can be sniped from a distance so they're not as much of a threat but the Nosalis will always make a beeline straight for you and can sometimes spawn behind you.

Challenge 7 -

Recommended Weapons: The Hellbreath Railgun with the IR sight, Extended battery and Laser sight upgrades and the Kalash 2012 with the IR and Laser sight upgrades.

Target: 50 kills.

Strategy: As per Challenge 6.

Challenge 8 -

Recommended Weapons: The Hellbreath railgun with the IR sight, Extended battery and Laser sight upgrades, the Kalash 2012 with the IR and Laser sight upgrades and the Duplet Shotgun with the 4 Barrels, Stock, Ergonomic grip and Laser sight upgrades.

Target: 55 kills.

Strategy: Adult Shrimps will now be joining the fight (listen for their throaty growls) and are hard to kill so use the Duplet and aim for their soft parts, use grenades if necessary. Apart from the Shrimps, you will also be fighting Human soldiers and several will be wearing heavy armour.

Challenge 9 -

Recommended Weapons: The Hellbreath railgun with the IR sight, Extended battery and Laser sight upgrades, the Kalash 2012 with the IR and Laser sight upgrades and the Duplet Shotgun with the 4 Barrels, Stock, Ergonomic grip and Laser sight upgrades.

Target: 60 kills.

Strategy: The A.I will be throwing Humans, Undead soldiers, Shrimps and Nosalis at you but due to the sheer number of them you will have to keep moving to prevent yourself getting cornered. The Human and Undead enemies will nearly all be wearing heavy armour so use headshots to kill them quickly or place some Claymores (press and hold :triangle: then press  on the D-pad, now let go of :triangle: then press  on the D-pad to plant one).

This is a really hard challenge as it's likely that you will run out of ammo and be forced to rely on grenades and your combat Knife. For some reason the difficulty of this Challenge is higher than all the others, even Challenge 10 so be extremely careful.

Challenge 10 -

Recommended Weapons: The Hellbreath railgun with the IR sight, Extended battery and Laser sight upgrades, the Kalash 2012 with the IR and Laser sight upgrades and the Duplet Shotgun with the 4 Barrels, Stock, Ergonomic grip and Laser sight upgrades.

Target: 65 kills.

Strategy: You will be facing every enemy type from the previous 9 Challenges and they're all extremely aggressive and accurate. There's nothing I can really say except keep moving, go for headshots wherever possible and conserve your ammo as you're in for a long fight.

The trophy will pop shortly after the siren goes off at the end of the Challenge.

Spend 3 hours on the DEVELOPER level.

Possibly glitched, also missable

Note: The description has a typo in it, it should say "Spend 3 hours in the DEVELOPER level".

The description for this trophy can be a little misleading for some people so to clarify, only time spent in the Chapter called "Developer Pack" actually counts towards this. This trophy is considered missable because of the aforementioned save file deletion bug and if you get hit by it, you will have to restore a backup and try again.

As mentioned in the Road Map, it's best to work on this at the same time as Specialist and to take your time getting it so have less time to kill later on. From what I've been told and have read, this trophy has to be done in continuous chunk without exiting to Main Menu; there is also a chance your stats and progress may randomly get wiped (credit to Zealot for this). You cannot change your System clock to get this trophy (I tried this several times without success), nor can you just pause the game and come back later as you have to be physically doing something for your time to count (even if it's just playing with your weapons or visiting the museum). Time spent in load screens and the menus likely doesn't count either.

You can monitor the time by checking your wristwatch since that is tied to the PS3's system clock but I also recommend setting a physical timer for 3hrs as well when first attempting this trophy. By doing this you will be certain of exactly how long you've played for, which in turn will help you tell if you've been glitched or not should the trophy not pop when expected. Your wristwatch is only visible when not holding a heavy weapon like the Flamethrower, Gattling gun, Hellbreath etc but make sure you turn your Flashlight off before looking at your watch else it will be too bright to see anything.

This trophy may pop early (like it did for me) or not at all. If it pops early then great, go to the XMB and sync the trophy but if it doesn't then you will have to try the following:

- Restore a save file backup from before you attempted this trophy.

- Delete and reinstall the game + the Developer Pack DLC then try waiting for another 3hrs.

- Delete just your save and try again.

- Delete everything to do with this game (except the trophies) off your Hard Drive and try again (use this option only as a last resort).

Misc information:

This part of the Guide is for all the bits of information that wouldn't fit in the respective areas for space reasons but are still important.

Road Map:

- If you have all the DLCs and the Season Pass installed then the Abzat's Heavy Automatic Shotgun, Medved grenade launcher, Clapper Silenced sniper rifle, RPK Assault Rifle Flamethrower and the Bigun Rotary Shotgun will be available but you do not get certain others e.g. the Dragon Breath Incendiary Shotgun shells and the Spike Grenades from the Faction Pack. The RPK is the only weapon you have to pay for since it's not part of the Season Pass, the main game or any of the other DLCs. The Voltdriver from the Faction Pack is included in the Developer pack but under the name "Hellbreath", the reason for this name change is unknown.

- Loot every corpse you come across as they will likely contain vital supplies, this is not always possible in the "Developer Pack" Chapter.

- You do not need the Season Pass to get the Faction Pack, Tower Pack, Developer Pack or Chronicles Pack DLCs but you will get a hefty discount if you do.

- Unlike the main game and the other trophy DLCs, there are no Military Grade Rounds (MGRs) available in this DLC.

- See here for further discussion on the technical problems this DLC has: LINK

SPIDER LAIR:

- Although the New Missions menu correctly identifies this Chapter as "SPIDER LAIR", the intro cutscene calls it "Through the Fire".

- You have 2 Cigarette lighters: 1 that's available from the start by pressing :select: then  on the D-pad and the second one that you get much later on that's accessed by pressing and holding :l2: then press  on the D-pad (the location of this one seems to change every time). Your lighter is great for burning off cobwebs but it can also show you the way to your destination because the smoke will blow in the direction of your goal.

- The ladders in this Chapter can be very glitchy and won't always let you get off them, if this happens then persevere as you will get off eventually. If it gets really bad then reload the last Checkpoint and try again.

- In section where you're crawling through a narrow tunnel, you may or may get mini cutscene showing you squishing a baby spider.

- The video I've included is for the PC version and should still be relevant but if it isn't, then please let me know and I'll remove or replace it.

The SHOOTING RANGE only has one of these but the ARENA has loads. Also note that the SHOOTING RANGE has several guns already laid out for you but I prefer to go to the Gun rack to pick and customise my own.

If I find anything else that deserves to be in here then it will added in due course :).

I'm still in the process of getting the bugs out (no pun intended) but the Guide is content complete and open for suggestions and feedback :). I'll likely be submitting this sometime on Monday once I've had the weekend to tweak it :).

This DLC was ok except for the stupid 3hr trophy. It seems that progress DOES NOT span sessions (well it didn't for me) as I did the range and arena to completion then quit before getting to 3hrs. When I went back in I had to do another full 3hrs to get the Developer trophy and all my range and arena progress was gone too.

Thanks for this guide! I haven't managed to do the shooting range yet, but I did the Spider Lair and the 3 hour trophy by idling my PS3. I didn't run into any glitches in any dlc so far!

As for the spider flamethrower trophy, I believe you can only kill the ones without the tail, I kept track and the trophy popped up like normal for me!

Thank you for the guide as always T, I finished everything in 1 hour 10 mins so my controller is currently rubber banded in the museum to rack up 3 hours. What a silly way to make you "play" the DLC longer.

This was a really simple DLC except for Arena Round 10...that was annoying. Did it first time but I was flashing red for the last 5 kills so lord knows how I did it!

Shathe's tip for the Shooting Range was fantastic, equip 3 of the Railguns and as soon as you start reloading, switch to the next. I did every challenge first time with about 5-10 seconds to spare with that method as I never had to reload. I also lowered the sensitivity way down as for some reason it's really high on this game and made hitting the small targets annoying.

As for the Arena, I camped in the doorway to the alcove right next to the challenge board. For Rounds 1-8 I had two Gatling Guns with full customisation and and Azbat, which made it an absolute joke as you could camp in that alcove and just unleash with the Gatling on anything that came remotely close. Put some claymores in a semicircle around you for added protection. I had the Azbat as insurance because the Gatling takes a loooooong time to reload, so I had the shotgun to switch to if anything got too close and I had to take it down quickly.

Rounds 9 and 10 had too many enemies rushing you for this method to be effective as you run out of ammo too quickly, so I ended up just running round and taking potshots behind me for those.

Thanks T! Just Ranger Mode left for 100% now :D! A fourth playthrough is a bit overkill so I kinda want to take a break...but the game is really fresh in my mind and since it's the hardest difficulty it would probably be best to get it done with :(

A very good strategy for the Shooting Range Challenges 9 and 10 is to crouch in front of the console (the one that says "Dummy", "Target", etc.) during the entire time. You will receive little to no damage from the enemies this way, no matter how close they get. Since you can't get damaged 99% of the time, it just becomes a matter of eliminating the enemies quickly. I found that focusing on the enemies that are the farthest allowed me to rack up kills quicker since they are close to each other. If an enemy got to cover, then I just forgot about him unless I cleared all the enemies in the back and needed a quick kill while waiting for another wave to spawn.

EDIT: I've recorded a video to showcase this method.

Also,

From what I've been told and have read, this trophy has to be done in continuous chunk without exiting to Main Menu

I can confirm that you don't need to go for Developer in a single, continuous session. I got Specialist in about 1 hour and 40 minutes, then quit to the XMB and launched the game again. About 1 hour and 20 minutes later, Developer popped (I had already saved before quitting, obviously). Just make sure to select "Continue" from the main menu and not select the chapter from Chapter Select, otherwise that will reset your progress towards that trophy.

Another thing I can confirm about Developer is that you don't need to rubber band your controller, meaning you can just let your character stand still and leave your controller idle. I figured that since this trophy popped in the Redux version without rubber banding that it would work here as well, and that is indeed the case.

My save for wiped as i took the elevator in the spider lair. No trophy and redoing it all over again :(

I don't think the spider flamethrower trophy is glitched instead, it can be really erratic because THE FLAMETHROWER IS FUCKING SHIT so the damage is incredibly low and you end up killing the spiders with your head flashlight instead, so turn that off before going for the kills HOWEVER

there is one incredibly easy place to get all 20 kills in 5 minutes, no risk of dying and very low ammo usage. After you detach those lowering platforms from the spider glue/nest (very close to the end of the game), you gonna climb a wall ladder and find yourself in a circular room made of those lower able platforms, a hole in the middle, 2 holes in the wall opposite from the exit and the exit blocked by more spider glue/nest. You know you are in the right place when there are NO ground spiders and after you open the exit (it's alright, nothing triggers and no extra enemy spawns), there will be a room to the right with a trap (i know because it killed me). In this circular room from the 2 holes will spawn wall spiders that are going to circulate the wall from one spawn to the other. Put your back against the blocked (or not) exit and stare down the Infinite spawn holes and whenever one of them come out, let it get close and intercept it with the flamethrower. As soon as the flames touch it, it will be an instant kill, the spider will burn and fall to their death. You don't need to turn off the flashlight for this because it's a clear animation of burning and falling when you get them, so no way to get confused. I'll try to get some pictures of it when i replay this level since my save for wiped

Edit: i redid the spider level and the trophy popped BEFORE the cutscene ended. Popped for me halway through the travel upwards with the lift. When my game froze and my save got wiped, the cutscene fully finished and then froze after, what means the game probably had some internal coding error making the trophy glitch and the game freeze, so i can give this heads up. In the spider level, if you remove your hand from covering your eyes in the from the sun in the lift cutscene and the trophy didn't pop yet, PRESS START AND QUIT THE GAME BECAUSE IT WON'T POP AND THE GAME WILL FREEZE! You should be able to continue from last checkpoint and continuing from before you pull the lever in the control room, but i highly recommend fully quitting the game before that.

I took photos of the part i talked about previously for farming burnt spiders and here are they (pretty shitty, someone with a ps4 please make a video):

Spawn below flashlight and other one to the right.

Room after the circular farming area with trap in the entrance

I completed all but the last two challenge courses using the very first weapon in selection which is also a sniper called Valve. Put the extra ammo reserve in it with the 2x ie optics and your monster is ready. Last two waves i grenade spammed, refilled, spammed, etc but now thinking about it, i should have used that grenade launcher from the first non-Ranger dlc that you blow up the tank with. Medvet would have been so good for it, damn...
