Noid
http://i.imgur.com/gLHgF4G.png It's back! After a bit of a hiatus, we're ready to give this another go! If you're not familiar with what this is, check out the discussion thread here: http://www.playstationtrophies.org/forum/the-arena/279752-pst-night-movies.html Note that the discussion thread is where you should chat regarding the event itself, but feel free to say in here which movie you chose and why. Voting Voting is done by poll this time around. In order to streamline the process, we've whittled it down to 4 movies to choose from. Simply choose the one you most want to see in the poll on this thread, and the one with the most votes is the one we'll watch! I'm allowing multiple choice voting, so if you're torn between two flicks, just pick em both! Pick em and flick em! The flicks, that is. The discussion thread will be getting some updates in the next day or so, so look forward to more info over there. In the instance that the most-voted movie suddenly disappears from Netflix on the day of the event (what are the odds, eh?), we'll move down the list in order of popularity. Worst case scenario we scrap it and whoever's in the room at the time can vote on something on the spot. It's no big deal, we're all just in this to hang out and meet new people, so let's be chill about it, k? (this means you, PoD) When is it? Since I'm not updating the main thread until tomorrow or the next day, I'll announce this here and now just so you all know to clear your calendars... This run of PST Night at the Movies will be this Sunday April 10th at 8:30pm GMT. Same time as game nights, but a day later (so it won't interfere with the Uncharted Game Night). "But Noid," I hear you whimper softly, "That's so soon!" If you're unable to make it to this one, don't worry your pretty little head. The plan is to do these more frequently going forward. The hiatus was largely due to other things being worked on (read: THL) on top of some personal speedbumps (life, man). The plan is also to change up the days and times, as I realize that Sunday evening for some people is Monday morning to others. We'll change it up along the way to accommodate everyone. What are the movies? Since you may or may not be familiar with one or more of the movies, here is a quick synopsis from IMDB of each of the films up for voting: http://i.imgur.com/wEUlUu5.png The Flintstones (1994) The Flintstones and the Rubbles are modern stone-age families. Fred and Barney work at Slate and Company, mining rock. Fred gives Barney some money so he and Betty can adopt a baby. When Fred and Barney take a test to determine who should become the new associate vice president, Barney returns the favor by switching his test answers for Fred's, whose answers aren't very good. Fred gets the executive position, but little realizes that he's being manipulated by Cliff Vandercave to be the fall guy for an embezzlement scheme. http://i.imgur.com/PAp9na7.png Wayne's World (1992) Wayne is still living at home. He has a world class collection of name tags from jobs he's tried, but he does have his own public access TV show. A local station decides to hire him and his sidekick, Garth, to do their show professionally and Wayne & Garth find that it is no longer the same. Wayne falls for a bass guitarist and uses his and Garth's Video contacts to help her career along, knowing that Ben Oliver, the sleazy advertising guy who is ruining their show will probably take her away from him if they fail. http://i.imgur.com/hmQTk70.png Tucker and Dale vs. Evil (2010) Two lovable West Virginian hillbillies, are headed to their "fixer-upper" vacation cabin to drink some beer, do some fishin', and have a good time. But when they run into a group of preppy college kids who assume from their looks that they must be in-bred, chainsaw wielding killers, Tucker & Dale's vacation takes a bloody & hilarious turn for the worse. http://i.imgur.com/2tPtdZk.png Pulp Fiction (1994) Jules Winnfield and Vincent Vega are two hitmen who are out to retrieve a suitcase stolen from their employer, mob boss Marsellus Wallace. Wallace has also asked Vincent to take his wife Mia out a few days later when Wallace himself will be out of town. Butch Coolidge is an aging boxer who is paid by Wallace to lose his next fight. The lives of these seemingly unrelated people are woven together comprising of a series of funny, bizarre and uncalled-for incidents. luffybuggy
All very nice choices. But I wouldn't mind having some fun with everyone by just watching a dumb, funny movie. So I went with Tucker and Dale vs. Evil
dcollins22
Love this idea, but as with last time it was held, the difference in timezones does not permit me to participate. Boo! Oh well, all the movies are great, so I'm sure you will all enjoy yourselves.
PapasitoPenguin
Wayne's World obviously, and I'm 80% sure I can make that Sunday evening time.

mjc0961
Eh, I'll vote for Wayne's World. Never seen it before, but heard it's supposed to be good. The Flintstones I have seen, and it's crap. Tucker and whatever, never heard of it and it doesn't sound good. Pulp Fiction really doesn't live up to the hype; you see the "royale with cheese" scene and the "dead n***** storage" scene on YouTube and think the whole movie is going to be that awesome, then you watch the whole movie and those are the only two interesting scenes in it and the rest is boring aside from a rape scene which is just disturbing. I mean honestly, let me save you the trouble of watching Pulp Fiction right now: [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PE9Qm8mShik[/ame] Can't link the other one obviously, but search it yourself, and there you go, those are the only interesting/funny bits. Now you can use the remaining 2 hours and 25 minutes you would have spent bored out of your mind watching the rest of the movie and go earn trophies instead. You're welcome.
