elcactus
Before uploading as my avatar, I cropped out all the space around the image, so that there wouldn't be any white space. But alas, after uploading it seems like playstationtrophies.org is adding the white space back. What can I do to get rid of it?
Noid
Did you save it as a .png? Can you upload the file to a site like imgur so I can see the file as intended?
Aeirou
http://psnprofiles.com/lib/img/games/ac2b43/trophies/1L69143d.png Similar image in png?
elcactus
Yes, it was originally a PNG. I'd used some free site to resize and crop it, and the final result was provided as a PNG. I've just uploaded to imgur: http://i.imgur.com/TUu7xTN.png I'll try using this to see if it makes a difference. [update to follow] edit: Just reuploaded and it's still the same ugly white background. Edited July 18, 2014 by elcactus
Noid
That's because you're uploading to the site. I suggest using the alternative method, which is to use a link to an external url (the imgur upload you just did will work beautifully). http://i.imgur.com/ONoFYoD.jpg
elcactus
Yeah, that's what I've been trying and it still does it: http://i.imgur.com/2kXcrhx.gif Alternatively, would it make a different if I download to my computer and then upload from there? edit: Because the weird thing is, on Imgur the background is non-existent. I see a black background, and when I go to edit the image there, it's just the checkered background (which suggests there's nothing there). That's why I'm convincing it's something to do with pstrophies.org. Edited July 18, 2014 by elcactus

Hm. It's doing it to me, too. Something's up. Gimme a minute. EDIT: Looks to be an issue with that particular image. Making progress... Metdevil
I think I remember this happening to me. I think it happens when PST.org has to resize the image to suit the reequirements. Try resizing the image yourself down to 100x100 and <19.5kb and doing it again. I think when PST.org resizes it for you, it removes the transparency. The image he posted is 120x120. I've resized it appropriately and it works now (here: http://i.imgur.com/GXO16jL.png).

I had the same problem with my avatar.

I was under the impression that pst.org would just flat out deny the image if it was too large, which has happened plenty of times. I ended up using some free site (picresize.com) to resize the image, and then pst.org accepted. But this is good to know going forward! @The_Noid, thank you so much for your help! Helping someone fix their avatar I think that if the weight of it is too much (>19.5kb) it'll flat out deny it, but if the weight is fine, but the size is too high, it'll just resize it down to the 100x100
