Introduction

Tales of Xillia 2 is the 14th flagship title in the Tales series. It is a direct sequel to Tales of Xillia, taking place 1 year after the end of the previous game. The main character is Ludger Will Kresnik, a (mostly) silent protagonist. You will encounter just about every major and minor character (foe and friend alike) from the previous game, and those familiar with Tales of Xillia will find many of the locales and much of the gameplay very familiar.

For anyone who has played Tales of Xillia, you will have a good idea of what to expect. The vast majority of your trophies will unlock after you have completed the game. You can get the platinum in only a single playthrough, but there are a few trophies that are easier with GRADE bonuses.

If you have not played Tales of Xillia, you will find that trophies work a little differently than in previous Tales games. There is a shared list of titles for the game, rather than individual titles for each character. Trophies are tied to unlocking specific titles. Also, I highly recommend playing Tales of Xillia first. Otherwise, the story will be a lot more confusing, as there are continual references and spoilers for the first game.

Warning: The Walkthrough contains spoilers!

Step 1: Playthrough 1

For your first playthrough, you can play using LightOfJudgement's Affinity Guide to maximize the affinity with your party members as you go. You can grind affinity during end game if you wish, but if you make the best choices during your playthrough, you don't have to do near as much. While you are progressing, you will encounter elite monsters (giant, unique 1-time enemies scattered throughout the world). You should attempt to defeat the first 18 elite monsters in battles that are under 2 minutes each, as there is a finite number of elite monsters, and you must do this for 4 Battle Challenge titles (and thus the trophy Battle God).

Like Tales of Xillia, every character has a unique Special Skill they can perform, as well as a unique Partner Skill that they will only use while linked with someone else. You'll want to work on doing these as you go, because you have to use each one 450 times. And since you'll often have certain party members forced into your group, it's a good idea to know what their skills are, so you don't have to grind as much at the end of the game. Don't be surprised if you don't get any of these trophies before you've beaten the game, as several of them are rather tedious and require a fairly hefty amount of time. Also, use Linked Artes and Linked Arte Chains as often as you can, since you need to grind an exorbitant amount of these, and you can be working on this the whole time you play.

After each main story chapter, you'll have opportunities to undertake side missions for your party members. Most of these party member episodes can be done whenever, although doing them early often gets you additional scenes with affinity options during the main chapters. However, there are 3 specific episodes which will disappear if you do not do them in time. Milla's first two episodes will become unavailable if you do not do them before starting Chapter 11, and her third episode will become unavailable once you start Chapter 13. These ARE required for the Forever Besties trophy, and since they often provide additional scenes during the main chapters, I recommend doing these character episodes immediately whenever they are available.

Also, once you reach the end of Chapter 13, you should stop using your Chromatus until you reach an ending (for the Chromatus Control trophy). Using the GRADE Shop bonuses will help immensely in further playthroughs (as long as you remember to carry over the important things). I usually suggest doing the Gambler trophy on the first playthrough as it is fairly easy and gets you a little extra GRADE.

NOTE: You can also attempt the missable trophy Blood Brothers during Chapter 15 (see the trophy for details), but it involves a very difficult fight if you're attempting it on your first playthrough. I personally recommend attempting it on a 2nd playthrough with EXP GRADE bonuses.

Trophies you will unlock on this step:

(S)(H) Chromatus Control

(B)(H) Dimension Destroyer

(B)(H) Chromatist

(G)(H) Beyond Judgement

(S)(H) The Fatalist

You will also most likely unlock these trophies as you go:

(B) Enemy Sage

(B) Item Fanatic

(B) Monster Annihilator

(S) Gambler

Step 2: Playthrough 2

Once you beat the game, you can select New Game + from the title screen. You can then use GRADE you earned from your playthrough to start a new game with bonuses, such as leveling up faster, earning more gald, and starting the game with varying levels of Ludger's Chromatus. Here are my personal recommendations for the most important grade shop purchases:

  • Ludger's Voice (0) - a nice touch to hear Ludger actually voice the decisions you choose
  • Max Item Capacity: 30 (300) - while having 99 capacity for items is nice, it's somewhat overkill and not worth the GRADE for your first New Game +
  • Inherit Material Items (200) - fantastic for burning through the item-related quests on a second playthrough
  • Inherit Extractor (700) - great for learning skills quickly on subsequent playthroughs without spending the GRADE to simply carry them over
  • Double Experience (300) - makes getting to level 200 MUCH easier (stacks with 5x Experience)
  • 5x Experience (2000) - makes getting to level 200 MUCH easier (stacks with Double Experience)
  • Double Gald (300) - makes paying off the debt and progressing through playthrough 2 a lot quicker and easier
  • Inherit Affinity Level (1000) - if you haven't gotten all the characters' affinity levels maxed on your first playthrough, this allows you to keep improving them
  • Inherit Kitty Dispatch (1000) - while this doesn't carry over any of your progress on the area lists, it does carry over 97 of the 100 kitties (which includes at least one from each area), so you can start working on it sooner

If you did not before, you'll want to use LightOfJudgement's Affinity Guide to max out everyone's affinity. Also, this is the playthrough to focus on leveling to 200, paying off your debt completely, and getting the extra endings.

Trophies you will unlock on this step:

(B) My Soul Brother Jude

(B) Milla Resonance

(B) Alvin, My Blood Brother

(B) Forever, Elize

(B) Rowen Army

(B) Leia the Ultimate

(B) Eternal Conquest with Gaius

(B) Lovin' with Muzét

(S) Forever Besties

(G) The Strongest

(S)(H) Perfect Body

(S)(H) Codependency

(S)(B) Blood Brothers

Step 3: Mopping up

You'll use the post game on this second playthrough (or first if you felt like grinding the gald and EXP) to finish the final trophies waiting. This will involve using every character's Special Skill a certain number of times, using every character's Partner Skill a certain number of times, performing a 200-hit combo, using lots of linked artes and linked arte chains, defeating lots of elite monsters, completing the Kitty Dispatch list of items, and (most time consuming of all) earning every Battle Challenge title.

Trophies you will unlock on this step:

(B) Combo Virtuoso

(B) Lord of Links

(B) Master of Chains

(B) Elite Annihilator

(B) The Cat's Pajamas

(B) Ludger's Transformation Spree

(B) Snap Pivot Urban Legend

(B) MAXwell

(B) Super Charged

(B) Teepo Embodied

(B) Fortissimo

(B) Staff of Indignation

(B) Gaius Fury

(B) Warp Goddess

(B) Doppelganger

(B) Life Giver

(B) Binding Queen

(B) Expert Breaker

(B) Soul Siphon

(B) Spirit Protector

(B) Notorious Bandit

(B) Power Savior

(B) Limousine

(B) Battle General

(S) Battle Lord

(G) Battle God

(P)(H) Lord of Xillia 2

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/2169/fec.jpg Enemy Sage (B):tagcollectible:

Proof that you've registered enough monsters in your list. With this much, you could call it a encyclopedia! Wow!

You have to fight 275 different enemies. Bosses, elite monsters, and all regular mobs contribute to this list. You'll want to fight at least one of every monster in each area you come to and make sure to do every character episode, since several have unique enemies in them. There are well over 400 different enemies in the game, so you shouldn't have any trouble getting this. If you don't get this in one playthrough, your progress carries over to a New Game +.

NOTE: The non-boss monsters that you encounter in fractured dimensions are NOT separate entries from their prime dimension counterparts. However, if you fight an enemy there which you have not yet fought in the prime dimension, it will count in your list.

You will receive this trophy after fighting your 275th enemy and earning the "Enemy Sage" title.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/2169/930.jpg Item Fanatic (B):tagcollectible:

Proof that you've registered enough items in your list. Is there anything left to find?!

You have to obtain 700 different items throughout your game. As you do Kitty Dispatch and all character episodes, you'll get most of these items. You don't have to have all the items at once (even if you lose an item for story reasons, it stays in your log). If you reach the end of the game and don't have the trophy, buy 1 of everything from the shops and make sure you synthesize as many custom orders as you can. There are over 1,200 different items (almost 300 of which are key items), so you should easily achieve this in one playthrough. If you don't get this in one playthrough, your progress carries over to a New Game +.

You will receive this trophy after obtaining your 700th item and earning the "Item Fanatic" title.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/2169/a7f.jpg Monster Annihilator (B)

Proof that you've encountered a set number of enemies! You must be superhuman at this rate! Monsters must fear you!

You need to fight 800 battles to earn this trophy. Just keep fighting and it will eventually unlock. If you don't get this in one playthrough, your progress carries over to a New Game +.

You will receive this trophy after battle upon earning the "Monster Annihilator" title.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/2169/984.jpg Combo Virtuoso (B)

You've executed a max combo of impressive proportions! Enemies lives must flash before their eyes when you face them!

This is a lot easier than it sounds. Equip Ludger with the Minimum Damage and Pierce skills and go to Alest Highroad. Set all your other party members to a passive strategy or manual and get in a fight with one of the tree monsters. If there are any other monsters, kill them off using another party member. Now, spam X while you're holding the pistols and you'll keep the enemy locked in a combo. With those skills, you'll constantly gain AC. Just finish the battle once you've hit the 200 mark.

You will receive this trophy after battle upon earning the "Combo Virtuoso" title.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/2169/a67.jpg Lord of Links (B)

Proof that you've executed a set number of linked artes. You have paved the way for future would-be linked arte users.

As you fight battles while linked with a party member, your link gauge will increase. Everytime you fill a segment, you can trigger a linked arte by pressing :r2: after using an arte. You need to execute 4,050 linked artes. Keep doing this throughout the game, and you'll eventually unlock the trophy. If you don't get this in one playthrough, your progress carries over to a New Game +.

You will receive this trophy after battle upon earning the "Lord of Links" title.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/2169/8ba.jpg Master of Chains (B)

Proof of an awe-inspiring amount of linked arte chains! You could teach a college level course on it if you had to!

As you fight battles while linked with a party member, your link gauge will increase. Everytime you fill a segment, you can trigger a linked arte by pressing :r2: after using an arte. If the gauge is completely full, you can then follow up a linked arte with a different :circle: arte to initiate a linked arte chain (you can do multiple chains in a row as long as they are different linked artes). You need to execute 1,350 linked arte chains. Keep doing this throughout the game, and you'll eventually unlock the trophy. If you don't get this in one playthrough, your progress carries over to a New Game +.

You will receive this trophy after battle upon earning the "Master of Chains" title.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/2169/85a.jpg Elite Annihilator (B)

You've clearly defeated an elite amount of elite monsters. You must be VIP at this point! Bet you can get into any club.

You need to defeat 50 elite monsters. Elite monsters are giant, unique 1-time enemies scattered throughout the world, which are often much harder than the surrounding monsters in that area. The job board will notify you when a new elite monster is available to hunt. There are 24 standard elite monster hunts (the one located in Nala Lava Tubes counts as 2), and there is a job board quest where you fight Veywind Eye & Veywind Striker (which counts as 2 more, bringing you up to 27). Once you have beaten the standard hunts and cleared the game, you will be able to fight stronger versions of them (bringing the total to 52 in a single playthrough).

However, these EX elites are VERY strong, so it is recommended that you be at or near max level before fighting them. Thus, I recommend doing this on a 2nd playthrough with EXP GRADE bonuses. Also, if you don't get this in one playthrough, your progress carries over to a New Game +. Any non-EX elite monsters that you killed during your first playthrough will count again on subsequent playthroughs.

You will receive this trophy after battle upon earning the "Elite Annihilator" title.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/2169/82f.jpg The Cat's Pajamas (B):tagcollectible:

You've completed your item list for each area in Kitty Dispatch! You're the cat's pajamas now!

As you play the game, you'll eventually start a huge sidequest where you are tasked to locate 100 lost cats. You will find most of them hanging out in the various towns, dungeons, and fields you travel to. After you find a cat from a particular zone, you can dispatch your cats to find items from that area, occasionally bringing back other cats. The more cats you have, the more likely you are to get the rarer items on the list.

You have to fill in the list of items for every area (you'll get a little paw icon next to the area name on the Kitty Dispatch menu and a "Complete" on the item list itself when an area is complete). If you don't get this in one playthrough, your progress DOES NOT carry over to a New Game +. You can select the Inherit Kitty Dispatch GRADE bonus for 1000 GRADE, but this ONLY carries over the cats you have found, not the area item lists.

NOTE: There is one cat, Catstantine the Third, who is missable. You can only get him from a sidequest that eventually goes away if you do not do it in time. However, this cat is NOT required for the trophy. Also, 3 cats (Malik, Catstantine the Third, & Enya) will not transfer over with the GRADE bonus, because they are tied to side quests.

You will receive this trophy after filling out the last item list and earning the "The Cat's Meow" title.

*MISSABLE!*

There are 3 specific party member episodes which will disappear if you do not do them in time. Milla's first two episodes will become unavailable if you do not do them before starting Chapter 11, and her third episode will become unavailable once you start Chapter 13.

Throughout the game, you will be making choices. Most of these choices will have an impact on Ludger's affinity with his fellow party members. While playing through the game, you should use LightOfJudgement's Affinity Guide to make the most of these choices. If you are not maxed on affinity with a particular character by the end of the game, you can use Friendship Potions (which can be bought in the casino for 20,000 chips) to increase their affinity level. For this final affinity trophy, you need to not only max all affinity for every character at the same time, but also complete all character episodes. However, the Bonus Episode is not required.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/2169/6b0.jpg Ludger Transformation Spree (B)

Ludger's transformed enough times to earn his own TV show. It plays all day every day on every channel. That's a lotta Ludger!

You have to use Ludger’s Special Skill, Chromatus Transformation, 450 times. As you progress through the story, you will eventually unlock Ludger’s transformations. You can trigger it by pressing :l3: + :r3: when the gauge is at least 1 bar full. Don’t save the bar for boss fights, as it fills fairly fast and can improve your results from regular battles. Just make sure not to use it after Chapter 13 if you are working towards the Chromatus Control trophy. If you don't get this in one playthrough, your progress carries over to a New Game +.

You will receive this trophy after battle upon earning the "Transformation Rampage" title.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/2169/c74.jpg Snap Pivot Urban Legend (B)

Jude has executed a great number of Snap Pivots. People are starting to think he's not even real!

You have to use Jude’s Special Skill, Snap Pivot, 450 times. When playing as Jude, if you backstep right as an enemy is attacking, he’ll teleport around behind the enemy. The best enemies to grind this on are low level boars, because their attacks are very easy to predict. Keep dodging until you get the trophy. If you don't get this in one playthrough, your progress carries over to a New Game +.

You will receive this trophy after battle upon earning the "Snap Pivot Deity" title.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/2169/de1.jpg MAXwell (B)

Milla has performed a great number of Spirit Shifts. Almost makes you question if she fights with anything else.

You have to use Milla's Special Skill, Spirit Shift, 450 times. When you play as Milla, her spells can be cast normally or you can trigger them differently to activate a slightly different arte. The easiest way to grind this trophy is to equip the Conservative Shift and Minimum Damage skills and go to a weak area and spam either Fireball or Wind Lance. Just make sure to tap :circle: instead of holding it to trigger Flare Bomb or Wind Bomb respectively. If you don't get this in one playthrough, your progress carries over to a New Game +.

NOTE: This is a great trophy to grind while working on Soul Siphon at the same time.

You will receive this trophy after battle upon earning the "Max-well" title.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/2169/c69.jpg Super Charged (B)

Now Alvin has Charged so much he can't stop! It's like he's frozen in a perpetual state of Charging!

You have to use Alvin’s Special Skill, Charge, 450 times. When playing as Alvin, you can hold :circle: as you use an arte to charge up. This will store up some power and allow you to use a different arte the next time you press :circle:. The Speed Charge and Minimum Damage skills are extremely helpful for grinding this. However, you can ignore the Charge Plus skills, as charging to higher levels in a single charge still only counts as one (and will just waste your time). If you don't get this in one playthrough, your progress carries over to a New Game +.

NOTE: This is a great trophy to grind while working on Soul Siphon at the same time.

You will receive this trophy after battle upon earning the "Prince Charging" title.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/2169/8ea.jpg Teepo Embodied (B)

Elize has Teepo Switched to great proportions! You'd think it was her day job or something! Work it, sister!

You have to use Elize's Special Skill, Teepo Switch, 450 times. When you play as Elize, you can switch Teepo between ON and OFF by taunting, which alters whether her ranged or melee attacks are augmented. The easiest way to grind this trophy is go to a weak area and spam :l3:. You should get it really fast. The skill Teepo Master 3 will help, but make sure you do NOT have Morale Support active, or you will not be able to use Teepo Switching. If you don't get this in one playthrough, your progress carries over to a New Game +.

NOTE: This is a great trophy to grind while working on Life Giver or Power Savior at the same time.

You will receive this trophy after battle upon earning the "Tempo Flux" title.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/2169/9f2.jpg Fortissimo (B)

The crescendo of Rowen's Arte Tuning has finished it's apex. The crowd cheers endlessly for an encore!

You have to use Rowen's Special Skill, Arte Tuning, 450 times. When you play as Rowen, several of his spells can be altered after casting by various ways, such as rapidly pressing :circle:, moving the control stick, or other methods. The easiest way to grind this trophy is to equip the Conservation, Grace, Conductor, Conductor 2, and Minimum Damage skills and go to a weak area and spam either Rock Trine or Freeze Lancer. Keep pressing the :circle: button to tune the arte, and do this until you get it. If you don't get this in one playthrough, your progress carries over to a New Game +.

NOTE: This is a great trophy to grind while working on Soul Siphon at the same time.

You will receive this trophy after battle upon earning the "Fortississimo" title.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/2169/3e8.jpg Staff of Indignation (B)

Leia has really extended her use of the Elongating Staff! You'd think that it was made of taffy or something!

You have to use Leia’s Special Skill, Elongating Staff, 450 times. When playing as Leia, if you backstep right as an enemy is attacking, her weapon will glow white and grow longer, increasing her melee range and damage. If you equip the Flash Guard, Bonus Extension 2, and Fury Stroke skills, you can simply spam guard while enemies are attacking you to grind this trophy. The Mon Grunts in Mon Highlands (female human enemies) can be encountered in groups of 4 and are excellent to grind this trophy on. If you don't get this in one playthrough, your progress carries over to a New Game +.

You will receive this trophy after battle upon earning the "Elongating Dogma" title.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/2169/39b.jpg Gaius Fury (B)

Gaius has used the Retribution ability quite a number of times. A moment of silence for the fallen.

You have to use Gaius’ Special Skill, Retribution, 450 times. When you block an attack with Gaius, do a frontstep immediately after to use Retribution. Equip Minimum Damage and a healing accessory to grind this. If you don't get this in one playthrough, your progress carries over to a New Game +.

You will receive this trophy after battle upon earning the "Wrath" title.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/2169/f23.jpg Warp Goddess (B)

Muzét's Emergency Warp has now been perfected. It's the stuff of legends. Now you see her, now you don't!

You have to use Muzét’s Special Skill, Emergency Warp, 450 times. If you use a frontstep or backstep as Muzét is taking a hit (a clean hit, not an auto-blocked hit), you’ll use Emergency Warp. Just do frontsteps continually and you’ll eventually get the trophy. If you don't get this in one playthrough, your progress carries over to a New Game +.

You will receive this trophy after battle upon earning the "Empress of Warping" title.

Ludger has now used his Mirror ability countless times. No one even remembers if there was an original in the first place!

You have to use Ludger's Partner Skill, Mime, 450 times. When you are linked with Ludger, he will imitate the Partner Skill of whoever he is linked with. The easiest way to grind this trophy is to play as Muzét and link with Ludger. Now, fight a weak enemy and spam backstep. You'll get it in no time. If you don't get this in one playthrough, your progress carries over to a New Game +.

You will receive this trophy after battle upon earning the "Sublime-Time Mime" title.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/2169/328.jpg Life Giver (B)

Restoring is the name of the game. Who needs healing when you have Jude?

You have to use Jude's Partner Skill, Restore, 450 times. When you are linked with Jude, he will help you get back up whenever you are knocked flat to the ground. The easiest way to grind this trophy is to link with Jude, equip the Minimum Damage skill, and go to Nia Khera Hallowmont. Encounter the horse enemies and hold :l3: to continually taunt. This will negate auto-guarding, and the horses will knock you down repeatedly. Continue this for a while, and you'll eventually unlock the trophy. If you don't get this in one playthrough, your progress carries over to a New Game +.

NOTE: Turning off all of Jude's artes can help him use his partner skill more regularly.

You will receive this trophy after battle upon earning the "Missionary Physician" title.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/2169/7b1.jpg Binding Queen (B)

Stand in front of her and you'll be bound. Stand behind her and you'll be bound. There's really no escape.

You have to use Milla’s Partner Skill, Bind, 450 times. When you are partnered with Milla, she will often bind fast moving enemies to freeze them in place. If you equip her with Support Shift, bind will wear off quicker, letting you re-bind the enemy sooner. An easy way to grind this is to play as Jude and use Palm Strike. Make sure you don’t have the Milla Sync skill equipped, or you’ll use Flare Bomb instead of Palm Strike. If you don't get this in one playthrough, your progress carries over to a New Game +.

NOTE: Turning off all of Milla’s artes can help her use her partner skill more regularly.

You will receive this trophy after battle upon earning the "Binding Queen" title.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/2169/b0a.jpg Expert Breaker (B)

"Breaker": It means one who breaks things. All kinds of things. Including your face. Don't even think about it!

You have to use Alvin’s Partner Skill, Breaker, 450 times. Whenever you’re partnered with Alvin, and you attack an enemy’s guard, he’ll come in to break the guard. Big enemies like the treants are great to grind this trophy on, just equip Minimum Damage. If you don't get this in one playthrough, your progress carries over to a New Game +.

NOTE: Turning off all of Alvin's artes can help him use his partner skill more regularly.

You will receive this trophy after battle upon earning the "Expert Breaker" title.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/2169/12b.jpg Soul Siphon (B)

Teepo's drained quite a number of enemies. You can hear the cries of many echoing in the distance.

You have to use Elize’s Partner Skill, Teepo Drain, 450 times. When you are linked with Elize and have low TP, she’ll use Teepo Drain on enemies that are knocked into the air to replenish your TP. If you equip her with Support Shift, she’ll also use Teepo Drain when enemies are knocked to the ground. Play as Jude and use Aqua Sweep repeatedly to grind this trophy. You may want to turn off any TP restoring gels in your auto-item menu, so that you stay lower on TP to trigger it more often. If you don't get this in one playthrough, your progress carries over to a New Game +.

NOTE: Turning off all of Elize’s artes can help her use her partner skill more regularly.

You will receive this trophy after battle upon earning the "Soul Siphon" title.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/2169/2d7.jpg Spirit Protector (B)

If you can guard this well, then forget spirit artes! That's what your foes will say, anyways.

You have to use Rowen’s Partner Skill, Auto Magic Guard, 450 times. Whenever you are linked with Rowen and enemies use magic on you, he will attempt to protect you by putting up an anti magic barrier. The easiest way to grind this is to fight against mandragora type enemies, because they typically attack almost exclusively with magic. If you don't get this in one playthrough, your progress carries over to a New Game +.

NOTE: Turning off all of Rowen’s artes can help him use his partner skill more regularly.

You will receive this trophy after battle upon earning the "Spirit Protector" title.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/2169/fa7.jpg Notorious Bandit (B)

Clearly there's nothing Leia won't steal. Hide your kids, hide your wives, and hide your husbands!

You have to use Leia’s Partner Skill, Steal, 450 times. When you are linked with Leia and you knock an enemy down, she will attempt to steal an item from them. The easiest way to work on this trophy is to play as Jude and link with Leia. Equip the Steal Plus skill on Leia and Minimum Damage on either. Keep using Aqua Sweep as Jude to knock the enemy down. Watch the notifications across the top of the screen though, because you can only steal from each enemy once. If you don't get this in one playthrough, your progress carries over to a New Game +.

NOTE: Turning off all of Leia’s artes can help her use her partner skill more regularly.

You will receive this trophy after battle upon earning the "She-Don’t-Buy-That" title.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/2169/c77.jpg Power Savior (B)

Gaius' defense is like an impenetrable fortress! It's like he's invincible even in his sleep!

You have to use Gaius' Partner Skill, Chivalry, 450 times. When you are linked with Gaius and you take a hit, he will often step in to help you defend. The easiest way to grind this trophy is to link with Gaius and fight a group of weak enemies. Hold :l3: to keep taunting, and you will get it eventually. If you don't get this in one playthrough, your progress carries over to a New Game +.

NOTE: Turning off all of Gaius’ artes can help him use his partner skill more regularly.

You will receive this trophy after battle upon earning the "Power Paragon" title.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/2169/ae9.jpg Limousine (B)

Muzét has transported quite a bit with her Support Warp. Enemies don't even want to bother with you!

You have to use Muzét's Partner Skill, Support Warp, 450 times. When you are linked with Muzét, she will enhance your backstep so you move much farther away and your quick step so you warp right in front of the enemy. The easiest way to grind this trophy is to link with Muzét and fight a weak enemy. Spam backstep, and you'll get it in no time. The skill Mirage Step will make this go even faster. If you don't get this in one playthrough, your progress carries over to a New Game +.

You will receive this trophy after battle upon earning the "Warp Limousine" title.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/2169/8fe.jpg The Strongest (G)

You've attained the highest possible level you can! What are you going to accomplish next?

You need to reach Max Level with a character, which is level 200. This can be a very long grind if you’re attempting this on your first playthrough. Once you’ve beaten the game and loaded your cleared save file, you can go to Leronde and buy Spicy Chicken Roll food items. Use these and fight the highest level enemies you can to grind to level 200. If you purchase the Double and 5x EXP GRADE bonuses and work toward this on a second playthrough, it is a lot easier.

You will receive this trophy after battle upon earning the "The Highleveler" title.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/2169/a28.jpg Battle General (B)

Only those who have received several "Beginner" titles are worthy. The first step to complete mastery.

You need to complete 40 of the 46 beginner Battle Challenge Titles. See Battle God for more details.

You will receive this trophy after battle upon earning the "Warlord (Award)" title.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/2169/73c.jpg Battle Lord (S)

A true master who has obtained most of the "Advanced" titles. People like you are one in a million!

You need to complete 18 of the 22 advanced Battle Challenge Titles. See Battle God for more details.

You will receive this trophy after battle upon earning the "Grandmaster (Award)" title.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/2169/49d.jpg Battle God (G):tagmissable:

You've obtained all of the "Beginner" and "Advanced" titles. You're shining so bright, I think I need shades!

*MISSABLE!*

There are 4 titles that are potentially missable. You have to defeat 1, 3, 9, and eventually 18 different elite monsters within 2 minutes. There are 52 total elite monsters (25 standard hunts, 25 EX hunts, and 2 from a side quest). The EX elite monsters are much harder to defeat in under 2 minutes, and once all of the elites are dead you cannot fight any more elite monsters in that playthrough, so you should make sure to take out the first 18 within the time limit.

There are 46 beginner and 22 advanced Battle Challenge titles. A short way into the game, you will automatically complete the first one, and you can begin working on them after that point. Rikki-chan’s Title Guide is a very good guide to earning the various battle challenge titles. If you don't get these battle challenge trophies in one playthrough, your progress carries over to a New Game +.

You will receive this trophy after battle upon earning the "Godhand (Award)" title.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/2169/ca5.jpg Gambler (S)

Like gambling so much you'd even gamble with your life? Then you, sir or madam, are a true gambler.

For this trophy, you need to win 100,000 casino chips. The casino, which is located in the bar in Duval, will be unlocked after you complete the quest Poker Face, which is available once you finish Chapter 9. This quest tasks you with finding a Tengu Mask. Go to Drellin and find the cat in front of the inn to obtain the mask, and then complete the quest. The quest NPC will now be sitting in booth in the bar wearing a Tengu Mask of his own, and you can talk to him to play poker. (You will need to buy some chips from the bartender first, which cost 10 gald per chip.)

The poker game follows fairly standard 5 Card Draw rules. Once you win a hand with anything better than a pair, you will be given the option to chance doubling your money by playing High/Low. If the first card is a 2 through 8, you're statistically better choosing high, and if it's a 9 through Joker, you're better off choosing low. There is still a lot of chance, so you might lose even playing those odds. Everytime you win at High/Low you'll double your winnings (up to a potential 9 consecutive wins), but if you lose, you'll lose it all. You can stop playing Hi/Low at any point to bank your winnings, and you don't have to win all 100,000 chips in a single hand.

NOTE: There are two items you can use in the poker gamer before placing a bet: the Silver Dice and Gold Dice. The Silver Dice will guarantee you are dealt a Joker, and the Gold Dice will guarantee you are dealt a Flush. Each lasts for 5 hands, and then runs out. You can buy one of each from the casino vendor and occasionally get them from very high end quests. But the best way to get them is by going through the bonus dungeon in post game. You can use both dice at once to get both of their effects, but this really is not necessary.

You will receive this trophy after winning a cumulative 100,000 chips and earning the "Maverick" title.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/2169/c2c.jpg Lord of Xillia 2 (P)(H)

The mark of complete Xillia 2 mastery. Thanks for playing!

You will receive this trophy when all other trophies have been unlocked.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/2169/ec2.jpg Chromatus Control (S)(H):tagmissable:

Proof of one who has sealed away their chromatus abilities. Now that's willpower!

*MISSABLE!*

From the end of Chapter 13, you need to restrict your use of Ludger's chromatus transformation. If you use the chromatus 50 times or fewer between the end of Chapter 13 and reaching an ending, you will get this title. Blood Brothers is the "bad" ending and is the soonest ending you can reach while attempting this, but it is often easier to go for one of the regular endings if attempting this on your first playthrough.

You will receive this trophy after watching the credits and earning the "Chromatus Control" title.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/2169/54b.jpg Perfect Body (S)(H)

Your level of tenacity is greater than any words can describe. You're brilliant, and everyone knows it!

This is the “debt” ending. Once you have paid off your 20 million gald debt (except for the final 100 gald), go talk to Nova in Trigleph and finish paying off the debt. This will trigger a very humorous scene.

You will receive this trophy after watching the cutscene and earning the “Perfect Body” title.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/2169/2fb.jpg Codependency (S)(H)

Hey, living through others is still living, right? Be proud of yourself! But not TOO proud.

This is the “cameo” ending. Once you have beaten the game regularly, load your save file and you will have access to some new activities. You have to then do the following:

  • Quest - “Femme Fatales - Part 1”: You need to get 5 Rainbow Lens items (even though the quest says Prism Lens). You can obtain these through Kitty Dispatch in Kanbalar or Orda Palaca.
  • Quest - “Femme Fatales – Part 2”: You need to get 1 Unicorn Horn, which you can obtain from enemies in the bonus dungeon, Illusionary Darkness.
  • Clear the bonus dungeon, Illusionary Darkness. Black murasame63’s GameFAQs Walkthrough has a very good section on this dungeon.
  • After you have done all of that, you need to beat the Elite Party rank in Xian Du’s coliseum.
  • After beating the coliseum battle, you'll watch a rather funny cutscene with characters from Tales of Destiny and Tales of Phantasia. Press :l1: at the dialogue choice to get the ending.

You will receive this trophy after the scene upon earning the "Codependency" title.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/2169/e64.jpg Dimension Destroyer (B)(H):tagstory:

You've destroyed your first fractured dimension. But hey, you had to, right?

Story-related. Cannot be missed.

This trophy description is slightly off. You will actually destroy a couple fractured dimensions during the first several chapters without knowing that's what you're doing.

You will receive this trophy after finishing Chapter 7 and earning the "Fracture Dismantler" title.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/2169/67b.jpg Chromatist (B)(H):tagstory:

A title given only to the strongest of all chromatus bearers. If someone manages to defeat that bearer, the title is passed on.

Story-related. Cannot be missed.

You will receive this trophy after finishing Chapter 12 and earning the "Chromatist" title.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/2169/a07.jpg Blood Brothers (B)(H):tagmissable:

This is the ultimate destination for two brothers. With so little time left, may they find peace.

*MISSABLE!*

You can only obtain this during Chapter 15.

This is the "bad" ending. In Chapter 15, you need to constantly make the :r1: selection during the big scene. This will trigger a solo fight against 8 opponents (4 will fight you at once and as each dies, one of the remaining 4 will replace them). This is not an easy fight at this point in the game. You can attempt it with a full chromatus bar and use mystic artes, but it is much easier to attempt this on a 2nd playthrough with EXP bonuses from the GRADE shop.

NOTE: If you are going for Chromatus Control, this is technically the earliest ending you can reach to achieve that trophy at the same time. Also, you do NOT unlock the New Game + option from this ending, but you will be given the option to save after the ending and resume the game from immediately before the choice.

You will receive this trophy after watching the credits and earning the "Blood Brothers" title.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/2169/574.jpg Beyond Judgment (G)(H)

Intentions are passed down and continue into the future. Live with no regrets.

This is the "true" ending. In Chapter 16, you need to constantly make the :r1: selection.

You will receive this trophy after watching the credits and earning the "Beyond Judgement" title.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/2169/bc2.jpg The Fatalist (S)(H)

Will the same destiny befall you once again? That depends on your own choices.

This is the "normal" ending. In Chapter 16, you need to constantly make the :l1: selection.

You will receive this trophy after watching the credits and earning the "The Fatalist" title.

This is the guide I have been waiting for. No disrespect to the other guide, but I find this one so much easier without all the Japanase language in it (and trophy names/desriptions that are wrong). Excellent work!

That's one of the main reasons I wanted to make this guide. The Japanese guide is excellent, but just a little hard to use.

Took way longer for a EU/NA guide to arrive then expected. And of course it's you who are making it Jyrakos :p

Guide looks really good. So much easier when you know the exact names of some of the missable trophies, so you dont have to guess, and hope you translated correct :p

Yeah, I would've loved to write this sooner, but I didn't even get the game until last month.

So, just realized that the area lists do not carry over for Kitty Dispatch, even if you get the GRADE option (only 97 of the cats carry over). And even with 97 cats, I don't seem to be getting any of the cosmetic items (possibly because I already have them with their GRADE bonus). Gonna keep testing, but if this locks out the items from the Kitty Dispatch on subsequent playthroughs, we might have an annoyance to deal with.

UPDATE: It took forever, but finally a cosmetic item appeared with the Kitty Dispatch again. So there's nothing to fear.

I found a bit of a way to cheese the Elite Assassin title. When you get to the elite monster in Fezebel Marsh, the dark teagle, you fight not only it, but also a few (read: possibly infinite) faud djinn. The dark teagle isn't that hard if you're at a good level, it's just very mobile. I ran it and hit it with a 6 linked art chain, then a mystic arte, then transformed and hit it a ton, then hit it with the transformed mystic arte as well and it was down to 10k HP almost immediately. The problem is that because the faud djinn keep spawning, the whole fight may take much longer. I saw someone mention somewhere that if you beat the dark teagle then run, it still counts as you having killed it both for the job request and for the time restriction (if you still beat it in under 2 minutes). However, at least for me, once I came back to the same location, the dark teagle had respawned. I killed it again and the rest of the faud djinn, looked at my titles, and saw that it counted as under 2 minutes the second time as well. I don't know if that was a fluke for me, I can't test it again this playthrough because I didn't run after killing the dark teagle again, but if it wasn't just a lucky break for me, that can presumably be used indefinitely to get all timed 18 elite kills without having to worry about killing all the easy ones too slowly.

tl;dr: Kill dark teagle quickly, run before killing faud djinn. Rinse, repeat as needed.

Can someone please explain the Slaughter the Weak title for me, because I'm really dumb and can't seem to get it?

This is what I have on my artes shortcuts:

- Elemental Hymn (fire/water/wind/earth) : Muzet

- Soulstroke Spin (hammer) : Leia

- Sonic Thrust (sword) : Alvin

- Requiem (gun) : Ludger

And on top of that, I have Ludger equipped with the Remus (Light) gun, and Alvin is equipped with the Mourning Blade (darkness) sword. That should cover all 9 attributes?

To be honest, I don't even know what I'm trying to do. Rikki-chan's guide and the youtube video aren't exactly clear... they just say use the artes. :\

edit: wait, I think I got it... I don't think Alvin's Sonic Thrust was connecting because I switched it to Tiger Blade and I seem to be getting some now.

edit2: ok, I've been stuck at 6/20 for a long time now. Uuuugh I hate this one.

Hello.

Forever Besties hasn't unlocked for me. I'm not sure what the problem is. This is on New Game+, and I carried my maxed affinity over using the grade shop. I've done all of the character chapters, and nothing has popped up. :(

This is the last trophy to do before I plat it.

EDIT: Got it. Freeeedoooom!

For The Ending About Paying the Debt, should i make it during the 2Nd Playthrought With the MoneyX2 Abilty? Because seems quite impossibile to do In just 1 run, i've got Still 13 Milions to pay off...

Yes, the Grade bonus for increased Gald (among other benefits of New Game+) makes this ending a LOT easier to get on a 2nd playthrough.

Thanks for the guide it was really helpful in getting the (P).

Thanks! I'm glad it helped!

Notorious Bandit: equipping Steal Plus will make sure you are going to waste more time on this trophy, because even failed attempts at stealing do count towards the 450. You want to hope Leia keeps failing on the same enemy over and over, so you don't have to end battles too early and waste time on fighting more.

Lv. 200: it can be easily earned on your 1st playthrough if you equip Elize with Teepo Umbrella, Demon Seal and the Leronde food and keep beating the Colseum Elite Party on Easy. She'll gain 1 or 2 levels per fight and each fight lasts 4-6 minutes.

Debt Ending and maxing affinity: you can grind Gold Dices in Illusionary Darkness or, better yet, in the Coliseum (pretty sure it was in Advanced Rank where you use 2 party members only; there are a few robots enemies that drop Gold Dices, especially if you equip the Hunter's Glasses accessory or whatever it's called lol);go play Poker in Duval and use a Gold Dice: if all goes well, before its effect wears off, you should be able to get almost 180k chips in one hand (if not, reload and try again); after you have enough chips to buy Friendship Potions and max out everyone's affinity, SAVE the game 1st and THEN BUY THEM, max out everyone's affinity and reload the game: you'll get all of your chips back and you'll be able to trade them for Iolites, which you have to sell to a nearby shop to get crazy amounts of Gald and finish paying off your debt :)

Bad Ending: this is also easily achievable on your 1st playthrough, I tried it on Hard but failed, on Normal it's more than manageable. If you need to grind levels for this fight, go to Nala Lava Tubes and fight the Gentlemen enemy groups. It still takes a while to level up though.

450 Ludger transformations: probably this tip is unnecessary but I'll share it anyway: transform when you are grinding the other character's specific trophies so you get more birds with one stone; transform when the bar hits level 2 so you can quickly end the transformation with a Mystic Arte (equip Minimum Damage of course or link Ludger to someone who has the skill equipped).

Expert Breaker: not sure which Treants you are referring to, but the ones in Nia Khera Hallowmont didn't guard so much for me; best enemy to grind this trophy is the big crab in Royal Hunting Grounds (there are 2 crabs: the small ones who die quickly and a bigger one): it guards the whole time, even right after you break its guard.

Alright, I think I didn't miss anything. Thanks for the guide, man :)
