Introduction

Tales of Graces f is the 12th flagship title in the Tales series. Based off of the original version, Tales of Graces for the Wii, Tales of Graces f expands upon the original by adding a 10 hour post-story arc, new artes, new skits, upgraded visuals, and much more.

For anyone who has played Tales of Vesperia on either the Xbox 360 or the PS3, you may be worried about this game's trophy difficulty. Unlike Tales of Vesperia, Tales of Graces f has a fairly simple trophy list. If you can take around 10-15 hours of grinding, this is a very easy game to platinum. What will be needed to platinum involves completing the entire game, finishing all inn-requests (similar to sidequests), maxing your Eleth Mixer, defeating most bosses in under one minute, and gaining a multitude of titles for all characters. The two trophies which will take you the most time are Mixer Maxed and A Gentlemanly Triumph.

999 Hit Combo (for 999 Grade)

Step 1. Play through Future Arc and unlock everyone's Accel mode.

Step 2. Use the Role-Playing dolls to give at least 3 people the Hubert title.

Step 3. Turn 3 people into Hubert and put Hubert in your party (you'll have a party of Hubert x4). Make sure that all of the Accel gauges are at Maxed. Also, turn off Hubert's Accel Finality (aka Mystic Arte 4).

Step 4. Fight against Dark Turtlez (boss of Zhonecage Floor 4).

Step 5. Press R2 to engage Accel with Hubert, and then switch with the control pad to engage Accel with the other 3 characters. You may need to increase the difficulty if Dark Turtlez dies too soon.

Warning: The Roadmap will contain spoilers!

Step 1: Playthrough 1

For your first playthrough, you can just play without a guide, but if you're aiming for optimal Grade (used to purchase benefits in subsequent playthroughs), you'll want to follow Shinarouji's guide. His guide covers all the missable sidequests and around 95% of all the rest of the sidequests at the moment (although he is updating regularly). You are actually able to achieve all trophies on your first playthrough, but this is not recommended, as the defeat bosses in 60 seconds can be extremely difficult without excessive grinding and/or buying the DLC boosts. I highly recommend waiting until your second playthrough, and getting Grade Shop bonuses to help. If you are planning on waiting for your 2nd playthrough to do Inn Requests, do not dualize ANY of the shards you get. Instead, save them and transfer them to your next playthrough. This is because you can transfer shards, but not weapons or armor.

Trophies you will unlock on this playthrough:

(B)(H) Childhood's End

(B)(H) The Lord of Lhant

(B)(H) A Throne Reclaimed

(B)(H) The Sands of Strahta

(B)(H) The Infiltration of Fendel

(B)(H) The Other Side of the Sky

(B)(H) The Fallen Eden

(G)(H) A Pact Fulfilled

(S)(H) Lineage & Legacies

Step 2: Playthrough 2

Once you beat the game, you can select New Game + from the Extras menu on the title screen. You can then use Grade you earned from your playthrough to start a new game with bonuses, such as carrying over all titles you unlocked, or leveling up faster. You'll use the 2x Exp, 5x Exp, 2x SP, 2x Critical, 2x Damage, and 5x Damage to make the in 60 Seconds boss trophies a breeze. This will also be where you'll work towards Inn Requests. Very Important: The inn request in Lhant where you must get the Beloved Handkerchief for Frederic is MISSABLE! You must do this Inn Request before you enter Ghardia Shaft for the first time, or you will have to wait till the next playthrough to get A Gentlemanly Triumph.

Trophies you will unlock on this playthrough:

(S)A Gentlemanly Triumph

(B)(H) Bryce in 60 Seconds

(B)(H) Queen Slime in 60 Seconds

(B)(H) Richard in 60 Seconds

(B)(H) Dispaters in 60 Seconds

(B)(H) Kurt in 60 Seconds

(S)(H) Polycarpus in 60 Seconds

(S)(H) Lambda in 60 Seconds

(G)(H) Lambda Angelus in 60 Seconds

(S)(H) Fodra Queen in 60 Seconds

Step 3: Mopping up

You'll use this second playthrough after finished (or a third if you really didn't like the 10x Damage, as many people don't) to finish up any trophies you haven't gotten yet. Note: several of the title trophies will have already unlocked for you by this point (many on your first playthrough).

Trophies you will unlock on this playthrough:

(B) Title Fighter (20 titles)

(B) Title Holder (50 titles)

(B)(H) Title Master (100 titles)

(B) First Flower (20 titles)

(B) Full Flower (50 titles)

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/535/02.jpg A Gentlemanly Triumph (S)

Defeated a true Gentleman. Good show!

*MISSABLE!* Every town you visit has a series of requests you can complete at the Inn. They don't all appear at once, so you'll often need to leave and come back after 8-10 minutes to get the next request(s) to show up. You can also see each city's current requests by clicking R3 (except Katz Korner). The requests include raw materials, combined items, foods, and weapons/armors with specific natures. You'll know you've finished a particular city when you finish a request issued by ???. Once you complete all the Inn Requests in all the cities, you'll enter a fight with Gentleman. Defeat him for the trophy.

You need to finish the Lhant Inn Request where you get Beloved Handkerchief for Frederic before you enter Ghardia Shaft for the first time, or you'll have to wait for next playthrough to get it.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/535/01.jpg Clear Game: Moderate (B)

Completed the game on the Moderate difficulty setting.

You do not need to play the whole game on Moderate. You just need to defeat the last boss of Chapter 8 on Moderate to unlock the trophy.

It is advised to attempt all the Clear Game difficulty trophies before clearing the optional dungeon, the Zhonecage. This is because the final boss is powered up after clearing the Zhonecage, thus making it more difficult (but not impossible) to beat him at each difficulty level.

Completed the game on the Evil difficulty setting.

You do not need to play the whole game on Evil. You just need to defeat the last boss of Chapter 8 on Evil to unlock the trophy. To unlock Evil mode, you need to fight 200 battles on Hard difficulty.

Completed the game on the Chaos difficulty setting.

You do not need to play the whole game on Chaos. You just need to defeat the last boss of Chapter 8 on Chaos to unlock the trophy. To unlock Chaos mode, you need to fight 300 battles on Evil difficulty.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/535/02.jpg Mixer Maxed (S)

Maxed out your Eleth Mixer by boosting its eleth capacity to 9999.

Everytime you cook a dish in the Eleth Mixer, the capacity will increase. The more expensive the cost of the dish, the greater your capacity will increase. The best dish to use to increase the capacity is Miso Stew. Miso Stew is made from Dashi Stew + Miso. And Dashi Stew is made from Radish + Egg. There are also several books that will help facilitate the growth of the Eleth Mixer with each dish cooked.

The Books of Potential, Satiation, and Growth are the three most useful books. Dissolution, Deduction, and Frugality are helpful in making your eleth last longer (thus, not having to return to town as often to refill).

There is an occasionally mentioned glitch surrounding this trophy. If you have over 9500 capacity in the Eleth Mixer and purchase +500 capacity from the Grade Shop for a New Game +, some people have reported this causing the Eleth Mixer to max at 9999 and not unlock the trophy. It's recommended that you purchase this bonus when the capacity is 9000-9498 (since the last 1000 are the hardest to grind). Then play the NG+ and cook until it hits 9999 on its own.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/535/01.jpg Title Master (100 titles) (B)

Acquired 100 different titles for Asbel.

Every character gets 3 trophies for learning titles. They're unlocked at learning 20, 50, and 100 titles (except Richard, who only needs 80 for his third title trophy). There are many different ways to unlock titles, including:

-Storyline Progression

-Leveling up

-Using A-Artes and B-Artes a certain number of times (there are 2 titles per Arte, except Mystic Artes)

-Character Specific challenges

-Sidequests

The easiest way to get the Arte titles is to go to the back of Lhant Hill and use a Dark Bottle. Edit your party's settings so that they do not attack and only heal or use the Role-Playing titles (from Future Arc) to transform all of your party into whoever you want. Then spam whichever move you want. Note: the Role-Playing titles are a great way to earn those titles for Richard, even if you’re not in the future arc.

See List of Titles for All Characters (credit: Blood_Runs_Cold) for an ever-growing list of each character's specific titles and how to unlock them.

Note: There is debate as to whether DLC costume titles and GameStop pre-order costume titles count towards these numbers. If they do, then the 100 title trophies seem to unlock upon hitting 101 titles. Confirmation is needed.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/535/02.jpg Lineage & Legacies (S)

Completed Chapter 9. Next up: the Zhonecage! The what? Look to the skits for a hint!

After you beat the game, you can select Lineage & Legacies from the Extras menu on the title screen and load up your clear data. Play through the future arc and the trophy will unlock upon defeating the final boss.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/535/02.jpg Gagonged! (S)

Defeated the Rockgagong.

While you are in the Inside The Rockgagong dungeon, you'll find a key item called Rockgagong Flute. Using the flute will allow you to challenge the Rockgagong to a fight. If you manage to defeat it within the 20-minute time limit, you unlock the trophy.

Piggyback Method - Credit to Maxdestructo

There is a way to cheese the Gagonged! trophy, more commonly known as the piggyback method. Equip everyone with titles that give "damage taken added to attack" and remove all of your armor, accessories and put books in the mixer to half your stats. The damage you take is added into your next attack. You could either put curry in the mixer (unsure whether this allows the damage to carry over or not) or use Accel as soon as you see the dying animation to cancel it. Your next hit will instantly kill the Rockgagong.

Also make sure to set the difficulty as high as possible, and to keep the CPUs in manual mode.

Also, this works very well for getting the clear game difficulty trophies. Just throw some curry in the mixer so you don't accidentally get a game over.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/535/02.jpg Who Were Those Guys, Again? (S)

Defeated Veigue, Reala, and Amber.

Clear the first 9 floors of the Zhonecage and the normal class of Riot Peak. Then turn in the requests for Veigue, Reala, and Amber in the Warrior's Roost inn. Now attempt the Master class of Riot Peak. You'll have to alternate party members for each of the 6 rounds. At the end, you'll fight all 3 of the cameo characters at once. Defeat them to unlock the trophy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/535/02.jpg Terma-nated (S)

Defeated Solomus and the Terma Ten.

You'll need to clear the bonus dungeon, the Zhonecage. After you beat the final boss of Chapter 8, load your clear data and trigger the skit at the final save point. Then head to Lhant mansion and defeat the enemies that appear to unlock the Zhonecage. You must wager an item to attempt each floor of the Zhonecage, and higher floors require more expensive items. You'll also need to defeat the three option dragon bosses. You can trigger a fight with each of them in front of each of the Valkines cryas. Each one will surrender their cryas upon defeat. After clearing all 9 floors and getting all three cryas, you'll be able to attempt floor 10 with an expensive enough item. Once you clear all 10 floors, the trophy will unlock.

Warning: Defeating Solomus will unlock Lambda Theos, powering up the final boss of Chapter 8. This will make the Clear Game: trophies harder and Lambda Angelus in 60 Seconds trophy impossible.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/535/02.jpg One with Oblivion (S)

Defeated Lambda Theos. Impressive!

After you have defeated Solomus, go back to Ghardia Shaft and fight the final battle again. You'll fight a powered-up version of the final boss. Defeat him for the trophy to unlock.

The particular bonuses you'll want to buy are 2x EXP, 5x EXP, 2x SP, 2x Critical, 2x Damage, and 5x Damage. You don't need to defeat the bosses on any particular difficulty, so feel free to set it to Easy.

I'm horrible with art and graphics programs, so I would love if someone could make a nice banner image for the header of the Road Map.

If you're looking for a banner image, you could probably request one here: http://www.ps3trophies.org/forum/user-generated-content/94971-image-request-thread.html

This site has some amazing graphics artists so anything you want, they can do - and then some!

Since another guide is already stickied, this one might be locked, though there isn't a guide linked from here: http://www.ps3trophies.org/game/tales-f-of-graces-f/overview/ so you might have a chance...not really sure how all that works though I'm sure someone who does will post soon :)

You might want to add:

It is very important you get all of the "Clear Game on X Difficulty" and "Final Boss in 60 seconds" BEFORE you defeat the final floor of the Zhonecage.

Reason for this, is with the final boss's super rape stat upgrades, a couple of these trophies would pretty much be impossible.

You might want to make it clear, so nobody makes this horrible mistake........Like me:( lol

True, that does make the difficulty trophies harder and the in 60 seconds trophy impossible that playthrough.

Since another guide is already stickied, this one might be locked, though there isn't a guide linked from here: PS3Trophies.org - Tales of Graces F so you might have a chance...not really sure how all that works though I'm sure someone who does will post soon :)

The other guide on this forum is for the JPN version of this game, since this guide is based on the NA one then there is no problem, they can stick this guide too like they did with the No More Heroes guides...

I have one question... DLC Bonus that you can buy in the store lock trophies? There is any recomendation on wich DLC's can I buy to cut the time to get the plat?

Thx!

DLC doesn't lock out any trophies. It's unclear atm whether the DLC costumes count towards the title trophies though.

no the DLC costume titles do not count towards the trophies because i was counting them when i thought i was close to 100 with sophie and i didnt get the trophy until 101.

if a moderator deems this guide worthy of a sticky it should def. get one because the guide with a sticky atm is just shy of being completely worthless unless you understand japanese that and it assumes you buy a guide that costs money and lets be honest who in the heck is gonna pay for a guide online when there are free ones.

I can also confirm this. I didn't get Richard's trophy until I had 81 unlocked. I forgot about getting the Gamestop DLC and I couldn't figure out why the trophy wouldn't unlock. It's because it didn't count towards the 80 that you need.

And it should be noted that Shinarouji's guide has almost everything Kouli's guide does. There are a few small sidequests missing at the end of Chapter 8, but he's been updating like crazy so they'll be added soon I'm sure. And none of the ones absent are timed or missable.

Thanks for the confirmations. I'll make a note in the trophy guide up top.

I'm not sure this is the case. I had at least 4 DLC costume titles for more than half of my characters, and they all unlocked at 101.

IMO, the DLC costume titles count.

Well, at the moment, the only 100 title trophies I have are Asbel, Sophie, and Richard (80). And I have the GameStop pre-order. However, I have no DLC or extra trophies for the other 4. As soon as I unlock those trophies, I'll count them. Hopefully that'll figure it out.

EDIT: I'm also starting another playthrough with the +500 eleth Grade bonus on my 3500 mixer. Since I know it won't be maxed by the time I clear another playthrough, I'll also test and see if the +500 can be applied every time you start a NG+.

Nicely done. I've posted this in another thread, but I'll share it here. It's a way to cheese the Gagonged! trophy, more commonly known as the piggyback method.

Equip everyone with titles that give 'damage taken added to attack' and remove all of your armor, accessories and put books in the mixer to half your stats.

This method actually makes the platinum much easier to get.

Wow. Impressive. I'll put this up in the road map. I'm gonna have to try this once I get back to that part of the game. Any idea which titles give that benefit? (Or are there many?)

The only ones I know for a fact are:

Cheria: #14 - Dutiful Daughter & #16 - Alluring Temptress

Hubert: #14 - Lover of Lhant, #15 - Scion of Oswell, & #16 - Steadfast Denier

Sophie: #15 - Stirred from Detachment

As far as I know, no one else has them. I don't have everyone's titles yet, so not 100% sure if everyone gets them.

That sounds about right. As far as I know, only Sophie, Hubert and Cheria are capable of doing this.

Ok, here's my findings. Asbel's, Sophie's, and Richard's titles unlocked at 101, 101, and 81. Everyone else's trohies have been unlocking at 100. So the GameStop pre-orders do not count toward the trophies. But as I refuse to buy the over-priced costume titles from the DLC store, I don't know if these paid titles contribute.

I have a quick question for NG+ Since you loose all equipment and armor, should I just sell everything before starting a new game? I know you can take shards and gel items over, so should I just sell everything else?

Absolutely. And if you're not using the Gald carryover Grade option (which I think is a waste), use all that money you're making to increase the stamp levels for any shops you don't have maxed yet. (Don't forget selling the equipment helps with stamps too.)

Thanks for the quick response. I sold everything and started a NG+ and carried all my money over, and started with over 2,146,634 Gald.

I wish your weapons and armor carried over though. It would have been nice, but oh well. I managed to have enough Grade to get almost everything you could (minus the 2500 to Inherit Skills). I also didn't do any of the x-times Damage either, Half Experience, Trade EXP for Gald or skip childhood. I missed a few skits and didn't get Sophie's Title for 95% skits viewed. Most skits I missed were from the Childhood.

This time through I'm going 100% through a guide so I don't miss anything. I try playing through a game at least once without any help, but 2nd time I go 100% guide.
