Introduction

Syndicate (2012) is a reboot of the futuristic sci-fi Syndicate series first created by Bullfrog Studios. The game is now developed by Starbreeze Studios and has been re-imagined from an isometric tactical shooter into a First Person Shooter. The plot is set 10 years before the event of the first Syndicate (1993) game in the series.

In the year 2017, the world's largest corporate merger leads to the creation of EuroCorp. The company is the first to spearhead to development of a Bio-Digital Implant: The DART chip. Fuelled by adrenaline, its users experience unsurpassed connectivity with the Dataverse. rendering all digital devices obsolete. National borders and governments lose their relevance and are rendered obsolete as more corporations merge to form Syndicates that dominate every aspect of human life from politics and socio-economics to daily entertainment.

As competition intensifies between these mega rivals, Syndicates start to develop and employ Agents, augmenting them with customized Bio-Digital Implants that give them unsurpassed abilities. These Agents are responsible for furthering the Syndicate's interests by conducting Industrial Espionage, undertaking missions that include Assassination and Sabotage to Surveillance & Protecting company assets. You are Miles Kilo and you are an Agent.

Walkthrough

Step 1 (Optional): Complete the Campaign on Normal difficulty, acquire all Collectibles and Chapter-specific trophies.

Syndicate can be an overwhelming game from the start as there is a lack of tutorials that explain the technical aspects of the game, while the gameplay will some time to get used to. Many portions of the campaign can also turn out to be frustrating on your first attempt, therefore we advise playing on normal difficulty to get a grasp of what's to come first, in preparation for your hard playthrough.

Veteran FPS gamers or those who have started the Co-Op mode and successfully completed it on expert difficulty may choose to skip this step and start the Campaign on hard difficulty right away in favor of a quicker way to Platinum.

Step 2: Replay specific missions via Chapter Select on hard difficulty and achieve CEO ranking

You only need to replay and attain a CEO ranking in the following missions (out of 20) for the Business is War (G) and Greed is Good (G) trophies:

  • Chapter 1: Wakeup Call
  • Chapter 2: Assault on Asari
  • Chapter 3: Aspari Extraction
  • Chapter 4: A Train to Catch
  • Chapter 5: Escape from Los Angeles
  • Chapter 7: Voyeur Central
  • Chapter 8: Cayman Global
  • Chapter 10: Behind the Scenes
  • Chapter 11: Ramon
  • Chapter 13: Betrayed
  • Chapter 14: The Wall
  • Chapter 15: Kris
  • Chapter 17: Corporate Wall
  • Chapter 18: Spire Access
  • Chapter 19: Burning Tower

On the Chapter Select menu, a mission completed on Hard will have 3 full stars displayed next to it, while attaining CEO rank on Hard will display a "check/tick" mark beside it as well. See Greed is Good (G) for tips on completing the game on hard difficulty.

Step 3: Complete Oh No You Don't (B) first, then each Co-Op Mission on normal difficulty, and again on expert difficulty

Warning: Before you start, please read the guide for Oh No You Don't (B) as this is a very condition specific trophy that may prohibit you from obtaining the Platinum if you progress too far without being in a Syndicate (Clan).

The Co-Op missions can be pretty ruthless to new players who are just starting fresh and do not have any idea of what to expect. It is best to attempt each mission with at least 3 players. As you complete missions and gain points (experience), your Agent will Rank Up and acquire Chip Upgrades, which can be used to purchase upgrades that provide you with perks such as increased health, resistance and damage.

When you feel you are strong enough (we recommended a team of Rank 20 and above), you may attempt the missions on Expert difficulty. Play conservatively until you have good grasp of the maps and enemy strength, always emphasize teamwork rather than personal glory. Completing this step will unlock Initiation Complete (B) and High Value Asset (B).

Step 4: Complete all Co-Op Challenges and Weapons/Application Research + Cleanup

You will have unlocked most of the Co-Op related trophies naturally in the previous step. Now its just down to grinding the relevant maps in order to complete the various Co-Op Challenges for the Middle Management (B) and CEO (G) trophies, as well as repeating Grenade Breaches for Hurt Locker (B) and Penetration Kills for Nowhere to Hide (B).

EF4.jpg  Every Bullet Counts(B)

Defeat Tatsuo without restocking your ammunition from the UAVs, on normal or hard difficulty

Chapter 4 - A Train to Catch. This boss fight occurs at the end of Chapter 4 at the train station, after you've caught up with your fellow agent and dispatched the Aspari soldiers in the area. A train will arrive at the station along with Tatsuo, your first encounter with an enemy Agent.

Spoiler

UAV drones will hover in the area and drop ammo if you breach them. Your task is to defeat Tatsuo without ever breaching the UAV drones. You need to make do with the ammo dropped from the Aspari soldiers you dispatched of earlier. Tatsuo is an agile fighter with quick-dodging abilities. Activate the DART Overlay to slow time and focus fire on his head while it is active.

As the fight progresses Tatsuo will produce duplicate holograms of himself, shoot these until they disappear and focus again on the main body. Use the bulletproof glass structure in the middle to keep Tatsuo at bay while waiting for your DART Overlay to refresh before repeating more of the same.

Recommended Upgrades: Augmented Overlay, Synchronize

3E2.jpg  Top Marks (B)

Achieve a perfect result in all the Tutorial challenges

There are 3 Tutorials, given to you as the story progresses up to Chapter 8. Your task is to achieve the desired result using the minimum number of ability uses/ammo required.

Tutorial 1: Take out the guys on the left and the right side first with the Suicide application, then the 2 remaining enemies in the middle.

Tutorial 2: Requires some basic aiming skills and fast shooting. Hold down :l2: to use the Backfire application, which momentarily stuns enemies and increases the damage they receive. Kill each one with a single shot while they are stunned.

Tutorial 3: Use the Persuade application on one of the enemies that is standing on a ledge and kill the others with your pistol.

You can also replay Tutorials in the Chapter Select menu.

DD9.jpg  Wetware Integrity Policy (B)

Don't kill any EuroCorp civilians with the minigun chapter 8

Chapter 8 - Cayman Global. Near the end of the level, once you defeat the reactive armor enemy you will pick up his minigun. As you move forwards civilians will begin to run while enemies appear further up and head towards you. Hold your fire until the civilians have all been evacuated before dispatching of the enemies.

668.jpg  Campaign: EuroCorp(B)

Complete chapters 7 and 8 on normal or hard difficulty

Story related. Unlocks at the end of Chapter 8.

D0A.jpg  Gaggle of Guidance (B)

Use the Swarm's multi-target lock-on firing mode to kill 3 UAV drones with one volley

Can easily be done in Chapter 10. After defeating the Reactive Armor enemy with the an experimental area with flying drones. Grab the Swarm Missile launcher off the gun rack right after the checkpoint or use the one you previously picked up from the reactive armor enemy. Breach and disable the shields of each of the 3 flying drones with :l2: before locking onto them by pressing :l1:, then fire away when you have a clear shot.

BDE.jpg  Missile Command(B)

Breach an entire barrage of five missiles in the Ramon boss fight, on normal or hard difficulty

Chapter 11 - Ramon. This is a boss encounter against an Agent who is equipped with a Swarm Missile Launcher.

Spoiler

Ramon's movements are limited to jumping around 3 platforms that are hanging in the air, while shooting missiles as you. These missiles can be breached and redirected towards Ramon with :l2:, which gradually damages the platforms that he uses and eventually destroys it, further limiting his movement.

As the fight progresses and more platforms are destroyed, Ramon will begin to increase the amount of missiles fired at you. Any time you see a barrage of missile icons appear on your screen, immediately activate the DART Overlay to slow time and breach all 5 of the missiles to unlock this trophy. Occasionally, Ramon will throw an EMP jammer on the ground, which disables your breaching capabilities and DART Overlay. You must destroy this jammer (looks like a blue grenade) with the :square: button before you can resume using your abilities.

Recommended Upgrades: Toughened, Regeneration Boost, Protective Shielding, Safeguard

73D.jpg  Campaign: La Ballena(B)

Complete chapters 10 and 11 on normal or hard difficulty

Story related. Unlocks at the end of Chapter 11.

41B.jpg  Augmented Reality (B)

Kill 3 specters in chapter 14 without using EMP effects on them, on normal or hard difficulty

Chapter 14 - The Wall. Near the start of the chapter you will go through a door and an enemy will grab you and issue a warning before cloaking himself and running away again. This is a Specter and there will be more encounters in this chapter. Specters appear as ghostly white outline to the naked eye and can be hard to spot from distance. You may use the DART Overlay to trace their heat signatures and kill them, just refrain from breaching EMP mines or using EMP grenades which will disable their cloaking devices.

91D.jpg  Cover Lover (B)

Make it past the conveyor belt without taking any damage from the turret

Chapter 15 - Kris. Right at start of the level, you will drop from a vent. There is a turret in the middle of the area. Your task is to make it through this area without being injured by the turret. Ahead of you is a small control room from which you can take safe cover. In the first part you should activate your DART overlay and run to the other side of the hall. In the second part you will need to activate the conveyor belt and use big crates as cover. When you reach the second control room further up you can disable the turret's shields and breach/hack the turret. Simply kill the remaining enemies or let the turret do the job for you. The trophy unlocks when you exit the area.

Alternatively, you can try running from one side to the other while using DART Overlay. It's riskier but does work.

738.jpg  See No Evil(G)

Defeat Kris without making him visible using EMP or DART Overlay, on normal or hard difficulty

Chapter 15 - Kris. First of all you will need to set your difficulty to normal (hard does also work but is not recommended). This Boss fight occurs immediately after you have navigated your way through a rundown office and viewed a mini-clip of Lily Drawl and Kris in conversation. Afterwards take the elevator up to start the fight.

Spoiler

Kris activates a cloaking device that renders him invisible for the entire duration of the fight. There are EMP mines laid out through the entire area that will activate if you step on them, rendering you unable to use any abilities. If Kris is in close proximity when you step on one and it reveals him, it will negate this trophy as well. You must defeat Kris without ever using EMP or the DART Overlay to reveal his location, so you must depend on tracing the source of the attacks that come your way.

Kris typically stays in one location for 30 seconds to 1 minute before moving one again. When he attacks you can briefly see the white outline of his body, the same way you can see Specters with your naked eye. It is best to stay in one corner all the time like the kitchen area to your left. This narrows down the angle from which Kris will attack you. Crouch behind cover if you need ever need to regenerate health.

Recommended Upgrades: Toughened, Regeneration Boost, Dexterous, Protective Shielding, Stability and Safeguard.

F00.jpg  Campaign: Downzone(B)

Complete chapters 12, 13, 14 and 15 on normal or hard difficulty

Story related. Unlocks at the end of Chapter 15.

D72.jpg  Make Them Watch(G)

Kill Agent Crane before you kill his two sidekicks, on normal or hard difficulty

Chapter 18 - Spine Access. First of all set your difficulty to normal (hard also works but is not recommended). This Agent confrontation occurs in a Server room encounter. Your task is to defeat Agent Crane without ever killing the two soldiers that accompany him in this little confined area. Start by breaching the server racks to raise them as cover. Use the DART Overlay to slow time and fill Agent Crane will bullets until he is dead while refraining from shooting or using abilities on his sidekicks. It's as simple as that.

Recommended Upgrades: Toughness, Regenerative Overlay, Augmented Overlay, Regeneration Boost, Dexterous, Protective Shielding, Synchronize, Safeguard

Spoiler

07D0.jpg  Ambassador of Peace(B)

Kill enemy soldiers of two different syndicates fast enough to receive a rampage energy bonus

Chapter 19 - Burning Tower. Cayman Global has attacked EuroCorp. Soldiers of the former syndicate are dressed in white armor, while the latter is dressed in black. Kill one soldier from each faction in quick succession (within 3 seconds without any upgrades). You can do this when you encounter your first enemies. When you come out of the stairwell you can hack a turret on the wall above you. Once hacked, let the turret do its magic. This should come naturally since there are many opportunities throughout the whole chapter to get this done.

4CD.jpg  Mastermind (B)

Unlock the Datacore in the minimum number of breaches

Chapter 19 - Burning Tower. When you reach the end of the chapter you will have to hack two panels in order to open a gigantic vault. You have to use your DART Overlay to slow down time! Hold down :l2: to hack the panels. You need to get the second panel in view while you are busy hacking the first one. Moreover, make sure you didn't try to hack any of the panels by accident (e.g. when fighting the wave of enemies in front of it). The trophy will only unlock if you hacked both panels only once and opened the door right away. Restart the last checkpoint if you fail.

FDC.jpg  Revival Meeting(B)

Defeat the final boss without allowing any agent to be revived, on normal or hard difficulty

This boss fight occurs in the final chapter of the game. Make sure your difficulty is set to normal (hard also works but is not recommended).

The fight starts with the boss wielding a minigun from above, while a pair of agents engaged you in close quarters below. The key to this fight is to reduce the health of the agents to near-death status (they do not regenerate health), then fire away at the boss until the platform he is on crashes, stunning him in the process. Proceed to finish off both agents and the trophy will unlock shortly. Killing the boss is not necessary for this trophy.

Spoiler

02E.jpg  Golden Handshake (B)

Achieve CEO ranking on any level

See the Greed is Good trophy for detailed information.

2E0.jpg  Greed is Good (B)

Achieve CEO ranking on all combat levels on hard difficulty

You will receive a ranking, based on points at the end of each chapter. CEO is the highest possible ranking. Hard difficulty is available from the beginning on. There are just 15 chapters out of 20 that need to be completed with CEO ranking and on hard difficulty. You can do this via chapter select, there is no need to start a new campaign.

Your performance is judged based on the following:

  • Accuracy - Make sure you hit your targets and don't shoot around for fun
  • Headshots - While the DART Overlay is active you can easily score some headshots
  • Breaches - The more Breaches you use, the more points you get. Hold down :l2: when the Breach ability is selected and you are targeting an enemy. Breach Spikes are worth more points than normal breaches.
  • Rampage - You have to kill lots of enemies in a short time. The maximum amount of points you can get is 100,000 for killing 10 enemies in a row quickly. Whenever you see lots of enemies try to build up a good rampage bonus. It's one of the best sources for fast and easy points.
  • Adrenaline - You build up Adrenaline for special combat actions like getting a rampage bonus. The Adrenaline bonus is displayed at the bottom of the screen, on the left side of the blue circle.
  • Damage taken - The less you die, the more points you get. If you do not die during a chapter you will be rewarded with 100,000 points. If you die press :start: immediately and reload the last checkpoint. The game won't recognize you dying and you can easily get the 100,000 bonus at the end of the mission.
  • Completion time - The faster you finish the level, the more points you get. There is no need to rush through to get CEO but you shouldn't wander around for too long. You can collect the business cards if you didn't do it already. You run into most of them anyway and it just takes a second to pick them up.

You have to get CEO in the following chapters (15 out of 20):

Chapter 1: Wakeup Call

Chapter 2: Assault On Aspari

Chapter 3: Aspari Extraction

Chapter 4: A Train To catch

Chapter 5: Escape From Los Angeles

Chapter 7: Voyeur Central

Chapter 8: Cayman global

Chapter 10: Behind The Scenes

Chapter 11: Ramon

Chapter 13: Betrayed

Chapter 14: The Wall

Chapter 15: Kris

Chapter 17: Corporate War

Chapter 18: Spire Access

Chapter 19: Burning Tower

Recommended Upgrades (in the order you should get them):

1. Toughened - Reduces your damage taken by 20%. Needed to stay alive and a must have for boss fights.

2. Safeguard - Increases your total health by 33%. Needed to stay alive and a must have for boss fights.

3. Synchronize - Increases your DART Overlay duration by 25%. This will be a life saver in tricky situations and you have more time to aim for headshots (additional points for your CEO ranking).

4. Augmented Overlay - 25% more damage dealt and 20% less damage taken while DART Overlay is active. This is useful in boss fights and to take out large groups of enemies quickly.

5. Regeneration Boost - Health regeneration activates 25% faster and regeneration heals 33% faster. Needed to stay alive and useful in any combat situations, especially during boss fights. When your health generates faster you can fight more aggressively which will have a positive effect on the time you need to clear a chapter (bonus points for time).

6. Executioner - Get back 50% of your health for melee executions. Allows you to fight a lot more aggressively and helps to stay alive. It's an effective way to kill enemies quickly but you should keep doing headshots and breaches for their associated bonus points.

7. Protective Shielding - Helps to stay alive.

8. Regenerative Overlay - Helps you to stay alive and makes your DART Overlay the ultimate weapon for any situation.

9. Dexterous - Lowers the time it takes to reload your weapons.

Campaign Collectibles & Miscellaneous

2DC.jpg  Linked In(B)

Obtain a health bonus from network connect links from your upgrade choices (single player only)

This should come naturally. First of all, you will have to wait until you get a chip that can be used to buy upgrades. You get them from beating boss fights and extracting chips from dead agents or potential targets. The game will prompt you when you have an opportunity to acquire a Chip Upgrade. Simply purchase any two upgrades that are next to each other to create a link. Recommended ones are:

  • Toughened
  • Regeneration Boost
  • Regenerative Overlay
  • Safeguard

37F.jpg  With Friends Like These(B)

Kill an enemy from the explosion of a reactive armor unit.

A good place to do this is Chapter 8. Here you will encounter your first enemy equipped with reactive armor unit, which is white in color and looks bulky in size. You can't miss this battle. The enemy you are looking for is heavily armored, bigger than all other enemies and uses a minigun. When his health bar is depleted he will explode. Once that happens you must make sure other enemies are nearby (so don't kill them yet!). At least one other enemy has to die from the explosion. If it didn't work you can reload the last checkpoint and try again.

3A2.jpg  Shocking(B)

Kill 3 or more enemies from the electricity discharge of a dying electro armor unit

In Chapter 19 you will fight enemies with blue-electric armor suits. When you reach the widely open area, waves of enemies will come out of the garages. Right in the first wave is an enemy with an electro armor unit, activate your Dart Overlay to slow down time then use Backfire on the other enemies to stun them. Kill the electro armor enemy quickly when the other enemies are nearby.

EF3.jpg  Deny Everything(B)

Find all propaganda tags (unlock all propaganda tag infobank entries)

There are 60 propaganda tags in total. They are invisible until you activate the DART Overlay with :r2:. You need to look at them from a sufficiently close distance. When you see a small symbol flashing up in the bottom right corner you discovered the propaganda. It's recommended to collect all of them on the first playthrough. Don't try to collect them during your CEO run, it will take too long and lower your time bonus. Don't worry if you missed a propaganda. You can return via chapter select at any time and still grab it. The chapter select screen also shows you how many propaganda tags you found already. Each level is unlocked in chapter select after finishing it once on any difficulty.

Below is a video guide that will show you all propaganda tags, in the order they appear in the game. You will notice little text popups in the top right corner of the video when another trophy is nearby. In case you are using a computer you can click the text boxes to be linked directly to another video guide (does not work on all mobile devices). Making it easier to get the majority of trophies on your first run!

5AB.jpg  Little Black Box(B)

Find all business cards (unlock all the business card infobank entries)

There are a total of 30 business cards. They look like small red holograms of human faces. You should run into most of them just by following the path of the story. There are just a handful of business cards that need you to take a look around. Don't worry if you missed a business card. You can return via chapter select at any time and still grab it. The chapter select screen does also show you how many business cards in the level that you've found already. Each level is unlocked in chapter select after finishing it once on any difficulty.

Co-Operative Mode

AA6.jpg  Initiation Complete(B)

Complete all Co-Op maps on any difficulty

See the High Value Asset trophy below.

990.jpg  High Value Asset(B)

Complete all Co-Op maps on expert difficulty

There are a total of 9 Co-Op maps that you must complete:

  • Western Europe
  • Mozambique
  • Atlantic Accelerator
  • Colorado
  • China
  • Scandinavia
  • Northern Territories
  • Argentina
  • New England

It is possible to complete these maps on your own, though it is much easier teaming up with other players. Private matches can be set up for you and your friends or syndicate members. A team of Rank 20 players and above is recommended for expert difficulty as things can do southwards very quickly on this difficulty. Head over to the Co-op Partners Thread (Read First Post!) to find other players who are interested.

FDD.jpg  Initial Public Offering(B)

Be a member of a Syndicate consisting of at least 4 people

You will need 3 people to get this trophy! Head over to the Co-op Partners Thread (Read First Post!) to find other players who are interested.

When you are in the main menu click on Co-Op. Switch to the Syndicate Tab with :r1: and choose "Create Syndicate". Enter a name, tag and make a logo. Switch back to the lobby tab, click on "create private game" and "Invite friend or Syndicate member". Choose a player you want to invite and press :triangle:. All members in the Syndicate will receive the trophy when the syndicate size grows to 4 or more or upon joining a sufficiently large Syndicate.

32F.jpg  Hostile Takeover(B)

Defeat an enemy agent squad

An enemy Agent squad consists of a team of 4 Agent and these only appear in the Atlantic Accelerator, Scandinavia and New England maps. Completing any one of these maps will unlock the trophy.

DB4.jpg  Shield Breaker(B)

Successfully sprint tackle 25 riot shield units

Riot Shield Units appear in both the Campaign and in the China and Scandinavia Co-Op maps. While it is necessary to sprint (:r3:) and charge these enemies in the Campaign, you can also stun them with the Riotlance or electron mace weapons to make them drop their shields. This stat can be tracked in the Main Menu > Extra > Player Statistics menu, "Shields Dropped" but this applies to the Campaign only.

46D.jpg Mace Ace(B)

Save a team member that is stunned by an electron mace

Electron Mace units are Sergeant level enemies that carry a weapon that fires a continuous stream of Electricity, which immobilizes the target. These enemies typically appear in the Colorado, China and Scandinavia maps. Whenever you see a teammate targeted by this enemy, quickly kill him.

BDF.jpg Super Soldier(B)

Complete a mission without going down

Easiest way to get this is to create or join a public match on Western Europe with normal difficulty. Stay in cover and play conservatively, making sure to never go down. As you gain higher Ranks you will be able to breeze through the map with ease with your increased health and firepower.

You can find Co-Op Partners over here: Co-op Partners Thread (Read First Post!)

07D.jpg Highly Adaptable(B)

Kill 4 enemies in 4 different ways within 1 minute

Kill 4 enemies with a combination 4 different weapons and abilities within 1 minute. You can also do this using 2 weapons with alternative firing modes. An execution kill (:r3:) will also count towards this trophy.

An example is to use the Kusanagi ACR-10 rifle, kill 1x enemy with normal fire, kill 1x enemy behind cover with secondary fire (Cover Penetration, requires research) while in DART Overlay, switch to your secondary weapon and get another kill with it, then execute a fourth enemy with melee.

920.jpg Field Surgeon(B)

Heal 3 team members for at least 50% of their health within 1 minute

It is possible to do this without any need to application (abilities) but it will be much easier once you have unlocked and equipped the Squad Heal and/or C2C Pulse applications in your loadout. Squad Heal replenishes your entire team's health instantly while C2C Pulse heals the team over time.

You can also use App Research Tokens to further improve the effectiveness of these applications. Whenever the going gets tough, activate these abilities in addition to using your standard Breach/Heal function and heal all members of your team for 50% of their health to unlock the trophy.

D3A.jpg Oh no you don't!(B)

Complete 10 Contracts against members of your syndicate

Missable! Contracts are awarded to you IF and ONLY IF your Co-Op Statistics such as Total Kills, Heals, Specific Enemy kills etc...are lower than that of any member in your Friends List of Syndicate. Typically, contracts are awarded for beating your friend's progress. For example: If you friend has a total of 80 kills, including 8 Electric Armor kills in Coop, you may be asked to achieve 100 total kills and 10 Electric Armor kills. That counts as 2 Contracts.

For this reason, it is highly recommended that you join a Syndicate and work on this as soon as you start Co-Op Mode, along with other Syndicate-related Challenges, or you risk missing out on this once you've completed 100% and can not find anyone who has higher stats than you. This effectively renders you unable to Platinum the game, unless you somehow managed to be in the same Syndicate as someone who does have higher stats (and hoping his stats are practically within touching distance as well). You can check your current stats in the Agent tab.

C62.jpg High Flyer(B)

Score a 2,000 points combo

This should come naturally when completing the Co-Op maps on expert difficulty. Earning a Liquid Armor kill (1000 Points), Electric Armor kill (1000 Points), reactive armor kill (1000 Points) in succession or in combination with a Team Savior score (1000 Points) and Package Delivered score (1000 Points) while the Rampage bonus is active will grant you a combined score of all your feats and unlock the trophy.

632.jpg Employee of the Month(B)

Complete a mission after earning a team savior score

A team savior score is earned when you are the last man standing and you successfully reboot (revive) any fallen team member. Complete the mission after earning this to unlock the trophy.

5D6.jpg  In The Name of Science(B)

Finish your first research

There are two kinds of research, Weapons research and Application research available in the Agent tab in the Co-Op menu. First you need to unlock a research by acquiring Research Tokens and selecting the research that you wish to unlock. Do this then specify the research to be completed by pressing :cross: on it again. Every research item has a number next to it that specifies the required amount of tokens and score points (e.g: 0/15000). Score points that you earn by completing Co-Op missions will be used to complete the research and make it available for use.

Note: You can manually select an item to be researched first, and queue the next one in line by using :cross: and :square:. This step is sometimes necessary after a mission if you have multiple research items unlocked and you find that none of your points earned are being used to fuel the progress of these research.

Weapons research Tokens: Acquired by killing and Chip-Ripping high ranking enemies such as liquid/electro/reactive armor and Enemy Agents. Anyone can Chip Rip the target and still the whole team will be awarded the tokens. There is no limit to the amount of Weapons Research Tokens that can be acquired.

Application research Tokens: Acquired by completing missions. Completing a coop mission on normal grants 3 tokens, hard grants 4 tokens and Expert grants 5 tokens. These tokens are given only for the first time that you complete the map on a specific difficulty but don't worry there is enough to unlock all Application research. If you complete a map on hard the first time, you gain 7 tokens in total (3 from normal + 4 from hard).

23E.jpg  Application Manager(B)

Do 10,000 points of damage to enemies and heal or block 10,000 points of damage on team members using applications

These numbers are cumulative across all Co-Op sessions that you play. This will come naturally as you complete the maps on expert difficulty and grind your way towards 100% Co-Op Completion, while playing with other players.

879.jpg The Professional(B)

Kill 50 enemies with all the weapons in the game

You need to kill 50 enemies with each of the following weapons. Your kills across the Campaign & Co-Op modes are both counted towards this, and your progress can be tracked in the Main Menu > Extras > Player Statistics menu:

  • TAR-39 "TAR39" (Rifle) - Default weapon available for selection in your Co-Op Loadout, and commonly found in almost every Co-Op Map
  • Minigun "Harbinger G-290" (Unique weapon - Chaingun) - Commonly found in most encounters with reactive armor enemies
  • CQC11 "Castellano CQC-11" (Shotgun) - Default weapon available for selection in your Co-Op Loadout and commonly found in almost every Co-Op Map
  • Electron Mace "RLX-420 Electron Mace" (Unique weapon - Electroshock Gun) - Found equipped by enemy Sergeants in the Colorado, China and Scandinavia Co-Op Maps. Shoots a stream of lighting that stuns and injures the target for as long as the trigger is held.
  • Coil "Laser Rifle" (Unique weapon) - Equipped by enemy Sergeants in the Colorado, China and Scandinavia Co-Op Maps.
  • Thermite "LTB-P" (Unique Weapon - Flamethrower) - Usually equipped by reactive armor enemies on higher difficulties on Mozambique, Argentina, and New England Co-Op Maps.
  • Razorback "M786 Revolver" (Handgun) - Default secondary weapon available for selection in your Co-Op Loadout
  • Frag Grenades - You start each Co-Op level with 2 Grenades, which can be upgraded to 4.
  • APP3 (Handgun) - Default secondary weapon available for selection in your Co-Op Loadout
  • Swarm (Unique weapon - Missile Launcher) - a Rare weapon only found on Argentina and New England Co-Op Maps on hard or expert difficulty. On Argentina, there is a chance that enemy units with this weapon will appear after activating the 2nd Gate Control/Checkpoint where the glass panels slide open leading to the section with trees. On New England, enemy units appearing at the top of buildings in the starting area and subsequent section after the first Checkpoint will normally have this. The corridor after the first reactive armor fight may also have a chance to spawn enemy soldiers with this weapon
  • UMK MKIV "UMK Mark IV" (SMG) - Default weapon available for selection in your Co-Op Loadout.
  • Sniper "Kusanagi HSR-6" (Sniper Rifle) - Default weapon available for selection in your Co-Op Loadout. Can perform Penetration kills.
  • LAWS-92 (Rocket Launcher) - Can be found in Western Europe in the room where you deactivate a turret, or dropped by enemies on Hard difficulties in various maps.
  • Kusanagi "Kusanagi ACR-10" (Rifle) - Default weapon available for selection in your Coop Loadout. Can perform Penetration kills by completing research for secondary fire.
  • Gauss "EMW-56 Gauss Rifle" (Rifle) - Usually equipped by electro armor enemies in the Northern Territories, Argentina and New England Coop Maps.
  • Bullhammer (Handgun) - Default secondary weapon available for selection in your Coop Loadout
  • Riotlance (Electrodarts) - Commonly equipped by standard enemy soldiers in China, and Scandinavia on any difficulty. Shoots electric darts that stuns a target temporarily.
  • Mjolnir (Shotgun) - Commonly equipped by Sergeants in Western Europe, Mozambique and Atlantic Accelerator on hard or expert difficulty.

177.jpg Hurt Locker(B)

Breach 873 grenades

Grenades can be breached by holding the :l2: button when prompted to do so. 873 breaches is a lot and you will only achieve a fraction of that in the Campaign or Co-Op modes. There are 2 ways to grind this:

Campaign: In Chapter 15 during the boss fight with Kris, all he ever does is throw a multitude of grenades at you. Replay the chapter on Easy difficulty, position yourself in the Kitchen area to the left, and let the grinding begin. Kris will typically throw 2-3 EMP Grenades at any time, followed by 3 Frag Grenades if you fail to breach the EMP Grenades when they go off. Over time, this method can be pretty annoying as EMP Grenades render you helpless if they do go off and it is time wasted waiting for the effects to wear off. I recommend obtaining the chip upgrade which reduces the amount of damage from explosions. (Credit to broodwars).

Co-Op: In Scandinavia, in the first open area where an APC with a turret appears, one of the soldiers is a grenade-happy fellow who will keep throwing grenades at you. You need to position yourself a certain distance from him. When you do, all the enemy soldier does is throw frag grenades one after the other in quick succession, allowing for easy breaching. You will also find more enemy soldiers with this behavior further on in the same map. I found this method to be quicker than the campaign method. (Credits to pZiuz).

Remember to progress to a checkpoint to have the game save your latest stats if you intend to stop grinding before unlocking the trophy. This stat can be tracked in the Main Menu > Extras > Player Statistics, next to "Grenades Breached".

874.jpg Warpath(B)

Get the rampage bonus up to 5 sequential kills

This can be done in the Campaign or Co-Op mode. A rampage bonus is achieved when you perform kills in quick succession. Unlocking the "Killing Spree" chip upgrade in either mode will double the amount of time before the rampage timer resets, allowing you more time to achieve successive kills while the rampage bonus is active. An easy way to do this is to pickup a Minigun from a fallen reactive armor enemy and mow down enemies quickly. You can do exactly this in Chapter 5 and 8 of the Campaign, or practically every map in Co-Op mode.

763.jpg Make It Snappy(B)

Kill 50 enemies with melee executions

Go up to any normal enemy soldier and press :r3:, rinse and repeat 50 times. This will come naturally as it is one of the requirements for a Co-Op Challenge whilst going for the CEO trophy.

723.jpg  Nowhere To Hide(B)

Use a penetration weapon to kill 500 enemies through cover, while in DART Overlay

Only the Kusanagi ACR-10 Assault Rifle and Kusanagi HSR-6 Sniper Rifle can perform kills by penetrating cover. In Co-Op mode you will need to research this feature for the ACR-10 rifle, whereas the HSR-6 sniper rifle comes default with this.

It is important that the DART Overlay is active when you perform the kill, or it will not count. For best results, position yourself behind a piece of cover such as a wooden crate. Not all cover types can be penetrated, such as concrete roadblocks. This stat can be tracked in the Main Menu > Extras > Player Statistics, next to "Wall Penetration Kills".

136.jpg  Half-Millionaire(B)

Collect 500,000 energy

Energy is collected whenever you kill enemies, breach grenades/armor, and complete mission objectives. The total amount is tracked across both Campaign and Co-Op modes, and will come naturally as you are grinding you way towards the CEO trophy. This stat can be tracked in the Main Menu > Extras > Player Statistics, next to "Adrenaline Earned".

585.jpg  Hacker(B)

Use breach abilities 300 times

Breach abilities refer to the applications that are given to you in the Campaign (Backfire, Suicide, and Persuade) or those that you have equipped in your loadout for the Co-Op Mode. Usage of the abilities is tracked across both game modes. This trophy will come naturally in your quest for the CEO trophy.

EB1.jpg  Rampageous(B)

Do 250 rampage kills/kill streaks

This should come naturally while playing through the Campaign and Co-Op modes. A rampage bonus is achieved when you perform kills in quick succession. This stat can be tracked in the Main Menu > Extras > Player Statistics, next to "Rampage Kills".

AC1.jpg  Middle Management(B)

50% completion (level, research and challenges)

See the CEO trophy for more info.

CFB.jpg  CEO (G)

100% completion (level, research and challenges)

In order to attain 100% Completion in the Co-Op Made, you must satisfy the following:

1. Complete all 9 Co-op Maps on Expert difficulty

This is a requirement for High Value Asset (B) trophy.

2. Complete all Weapons and Application Research

As explained in the guide for In The Name of Science(B), Weapons and Application Research Tokens are obtained by finishing off high ranking enemies and by completing each map on Expert difficulty. Use this tokens to unlock items for Research, then keep playing missions and earn points to complete the Research. Your research progress can be viewed in the Agent tab.

3. Complete all Co-Op Challenges

This is the most time-consuming portion of the Co-Op mode. A list of challenges is viewable by going to the Agent tab and selecting Challenges, Contracts and Leaderboard > Challenges and Contracts. You need to complete each and every one of these challenges listed. Your progress is saved each time you reach a checkpoint gate in any mission, so you can safely quit and don't have to worry about losing your progress. Refer to the Co-Op Challenges Guide for more info.

CO-OP Challenges Guide

Total Kills: 5000

This is self explanatory.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Spectre Kills: 50

Spectres are enemy units that are are found Atlantic Accelerator map on all difficulties, hence the best map to farm these kills. They appear after the first checkpoint as ghostly soldiers with white outlines and are rather hard to spot with the naked eye. Use the DART Overlay to track them with ease. On Expert difficulty they may appear as random spawns on any map.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Electron Mace Kills: 100

Maps: Colorado, China, Scandinavia

Electron Mace are enemy units found in the all Aspari faction maps. These guys are equipped with an Electron Mace which shoots a stream of electricity that stuns and immobilizes that target while the stream lasts. Other enemy units can take you down quickly if you are stunned this way. You can only escape if you run far enough while the enemy reloads his Electron Mace after a while, or if a teammate of yours takes him down, so beware if you're farming this by playing solo.

A typical run through China should net you 2-4 kills and you can farm for Riotlance and Riot Shield kills below at the same time, 2-birds with 1-stone.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Riotlance Kills: 100

Maps: China, Scandinavia

China is by far the best map to grind out these kills. You can achieve about 12-15 kills per run through the map on Normal difficulty when playing solo.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Riot Shield Kills: 100

Maps: China, Scandinavia

A run through either of the maps above will net you 8-10 kills each. Once again, it is better to multitask and play through China and farm for Electron Mace and Riotlance kills at the same time, as these weapons are incredibly effective against Riot Shield enemies.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

ECM Kills: 50

Maps: Northern Territories, Argentina, New England

These are Sergeant level enemies that appear with a backpack on their back that has a blue pulse. You are unable to breach or use any application if one of these enemies is in close proximity, making them number one priority pests to be terminated. The best map to farm this is in New England on hard difficulty together with the Electric Armor kills.

Do not finish off the enemy Agent squad at the end of the level too quickly and wait for ECM enemies to spawn until there is none left. A typical run through the map should net 6-8 kills per playthrough.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Aspari Kills: 1000

Maps: Colorado, China, Scandinavia

This should come naturally while you're grinding out kills for the rest of the trophies or challenges, particularly in China.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

EuroCorp Kills: 1000

Maps: Northern Territories, Argentina, New England

This should come naturally while you're grinding out kills for the rest of the challenges, particularly in New England.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Cayman Global Kills: 1000

Maps: Western Europe, Mozambique, Atlantic Accelerator

This should come naturally, while you're grinding out kills for the rest of the challenges, particularly penetration kills and Mercenary kills in Western Europe or Spectres in Atlantic Accelerator

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Police Kills: 100

Maps: Colorado, China, Scandinavia

This should come naturally while you're grinding out kills for the rest of the trophies or challenges, particularly in China.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mercenary Kills: 20

Maps: Western Europe (Expert only), Scandinavia (Hard & Expert)

Western Europe on Expert difficulty is the best and only guaranteed place to grind these. Kill all the enemies as soon as you start the level, but do NOT go hack or go past the APC Turret. A dropship will appear in the far back of the area and drop off a group of Lieutenant-level enemies dressed like Commandos, including a Reactive Armor unit. These are the Mercenaries that you need to kill. (Credits to hawknz)

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Liquid Armor Kills: 50

Maps: Western Europe, Mozambique, Colorado, China

Western Europe is once again the map to go to for grinding Liquid Armor kills because its short, and you can grind Penetration Kills in the same area as well. You will find 1 unit after the first checkpoint on Normal, 2 units in that area if playing on Hard. Don't play on Expert as they get replaced by Reactive Armor. Occasionally an additional Liquid Armor enemy will appear further in the map where you close off the shutters.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Electric Armor Kills: 50

Maps: Northern Territories, Argentina, New England (Hard)

You are guaranteed to find up to 4 Electric Armor units in New England on Hard difficulty, and possibly more as random spawns in the last section of the map against the enemy Agent squad. Solo-ing the map is perfectly manageable as long as you play safe and have the C2C Pulse and Reboot applications. You'll also be able to achieve some progress on the ECM kills on this difficulty

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Reactive Armor Kills: 50

Maps: All

There's no need to farm these, you will have more than enough by the time you reach 100%.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Agent Kills: 20

Maps: Atlantic Accelerator, Scandinavia, New England

Squads of up to 4 Enemy Agents appear in the Atlantic Accelerator, Scandinavia and New England maps on all difficulties. Individual agents may appear in China on Hard or Expert difficulties. Going up against Agent squads on your own on Normal difficulty is easy as long as you go after the Healer (Agent with C2C Pulse) first, and equip yourself with the C2C Pulse and Reboot application.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Kills by Fire: 100

The only way to set and kill enemies on fire is to use Thermite (Flamethrower) that's dropped by reactive armor units or the Coil Laser Gun that's dropped by Sergeants.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Gibbed Enemies: 500

"Gibbed" refers to dismembering enemies. The minigun, CQC11, Razorback, LAWS-92, Bullhammer or Mjolnir weapons have a chance to dismember enemies by blasting their limbs off when you kill them. This should come naturally, especially if you're making full use of the minigun dropped by Reactive Armor enemies.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Executions: 500

Melee kill a total of 500 opponents. This best done in Western Europe on Normal difficulty

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Heals: 500

There are 2 methods to healing allies: Breaching a single injured ally with :l2: while you have the default "Breach" app selected, or by equipping and using the "Squad Heal" or "C2C Pulse" apps in your loadout. You receive a credit to this challenge each time you heal an ally with any method above, no matter how many hit points healed.

Squad Heal heals all members of your team instantly for 50% health (upgradeable to 100%), while C2C Pulse heals anyone within your proximity for 15% health (upgradeable to 30%) every few seconds over a period of time.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Reboots: 200

When an ally is down, select the Breach application () and revive them by holding :l2:. Do this 200 times.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Savior: 50

The Savior bonus is earned by healing an from the brink of death (health flashing red) or saving them from being stunned by an Electron Mace enemy. Do this 50 times.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Team Savior: 50

A Team Savior score is earned when you are the last man standing and you successfully reboot (revive) any fallen team member. If you are playing Solo, and revive yourself with the Reboot App, it counts towards this challenge as well.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Syndicate Heals: 500

This is similar to the Heal challenge above, only this time your target needs to be a member of your Syndicate.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Syndicate Reboots: 200

This is similar to the Reboots challenge above, only this time your target needs to be a member of your Syndicate.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Syndicate Savior: 50

This is similar to the Savior challenge above, only this time your target needs to be a member of your Syndicate.

Nice, it's online :)

Good work yewjhin.

Just in case people are wondering why my name is mentioned on top of the trophy guide & roadmap:

I did the formatting of the guide and filled in the information for the majority of offline trophies, provided the videos and sent everything over to yewjhin. He made grammatical corrections, added more details, wrote the whole roadmap on his own and wrote descriptions for co-op trophies.

We appreciate all your feedback. Feel free to leave a post if you got any questions.

Great work both of you! A shame the roadmap went live the day after I got the platinum, but hey...

A few notes, if I may :)

* You will probably be looking to clean up The Professional in step 4 as well, as not all weapons are available in the campaign.

* "Recommended Upgrades: Thoughness" in the Make Them Watch tip.

* I would argue that the upgrade that reduces recoil and scatter by 55% should be one of the recommended upgrades, especially if going for headshots, but I guess that is subjective. It's certainly 3rd or 4th on my list.

* With Friends Like These can be done on easy - highly recommended. And it can help to kill one of the two minions as well, otherwise it's hard to stay in cover as they flank both sides.

* The collectible (business cards/propaganda) video guides aren't inserted...?

* In the Shield Breaker description, you say R3 is sprint. It's L3 isn't it?

* Mace Ace - I think the electron mace guys are extremely rare on anything but expert difficulty. They tend to just be riot lance guys before then, because I had trouble finding any for soloing Shield Breaker.

* In The Name Of Science, weapons research token acquisition description is slightly misleading. Just killing the armoured guys isn't enough - someone in the team, doesn't matter who as everyone will get the token, needs to go over to the corpse within a short time after death and press R3 to chip rip.

* The Professional: it may be worth mentioning that you can get more grenades by breaching those thrown by the enemy and picking them up, as you don't get more from ammo crates..? Use Dart vision to find them easier on the floor.

* The Professional: the Kusanagi ACR can only perform penetration kills after an upgrade (true for sniper too?) and also only when you've switch fire mode (down on the d-pad) to single shot.

* Hurt Locker: this can be easily farmed either offline by doing the Kris boss fight and wearing him down to half health, or by doing the Northern Territories co-op mission. Get to the end of the mission and kill all enemies until they stop spawning. Deliver one package and a dropship will deploy a squad on the pad adjacent to your dropship. Hide behind the barrier on the stairs, just under the ammo crate. The enemy will throw many grenades at you (credit and thanks to TheBigBoo for that awesome tip).

* Warpath: obviously much easier after getting the chip upgrade to extend the rampage timer. This is easily got (even without the upgrade) with a single grenade where groups of enemies spawn from a door. Examples include during the Western Europe final boss fight, in Colorado just after you breach the turret control after delivering the first 4 packages or on the top landing platform, at the end of Nothern Territories, or numerous occasions in New England, specifically in the large room with catwalks around the top.

* Make It Snappy: much easier and fun once you have the chip upgrade that gives you 50% from melee kills. You can melee your way through entire groups with ease.

* Nowhere To Hide: Either Kusanagi weapon can perform penetration kills (after upgrades?). The coil laser can also perform them in it's alt-fire mode, but I don't know if they count. Technically they should, but I haven't verified it.

* CEO: Might be nice to have a break down here for each challenge, especially example locations for things like EMP guys and electric armour. It's also probably definitely worth mentioning some of the techniques to get the elusive mercenaries to spawn (my favourite is to farm the top landing pad until enemies stop coming out of the doors on Colorado, before delivering the final 4 packages. But as with all merc spawns, it's not 100% guaranteed).

Thanks for the feedback InfiniteStates.

I have been working on the things you've mentioned, but I haven't had the time to complete it yet.

As Pyx said, he worked on the Campaign portion while I've been working on the Coop portion. We'll update the guide as soon as possible as its been a busy week for me and I have scribbled notes all over the place, just need to organize them and get it written in a proper manner.

Cheers

Not the campaign ones obviously, nor the kill 2 different syndicate member in the same rampage streak, and you'd be hard pressed to find 3 UAVs to kill with a swarm launcher. The kills via armour explosions are also a lot easier in campaign. I'm sure there are others but CBA to go through the list...

Short answer: no.

For the Hurt Locker trophy there's a super easy method you can use.

Go to Scandinavia, reach the first checkpoint then make you way thought the first "alley" of containers, then turn left and you will enter a small clearing that leads to the alley to the second checkpoint.

There, with good luck, a container will open up with some enemies coming out; among them there will be a guy that throws a grenade every 2 seconds.

Once you have recognized him simply kill the other enemies and leave him alone: he will stay close to you throwing grenades endlessly.

You can get the trophy in no time this way.

A note about the Wetware Integrity Policy.

This trophy more likely will not unlock if you re-start the checkpoint or die, so you must do it in one run only.

Thanks for the guide guys!

With regards to the Oh No You Don't! trophy, do you know if its possible to earn some of the 10 contracts while part of one syndicate, and then earn the rest after joining a different syndicate?

Also, do the other syndicate members also have to be on your PSN Friends list?

Edit: Just checked my list of available contracts. The only ones showing up for me are for a guy on my friends list but NOT in my syndicate...

and I'm dubious about the information in hacker... I had this trophy just from online and there's no way I did 300 backfires.

I agree, i got the hacker trophy doing the online co-op as well and i know i wasn't even close to reach 300 applications used. I believe everything that you beach counts towards this trophy, and that includes applications.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1039/37F.jpg With Friends Like These(B)

Kill an enemy from the explosion of a reactive armor unit.

A good place to do this is Chapter 8. Here you will encounter your first enemy equipped with Reactive Armor unit, which is white in color and looks bulky in size. You can't miss this battle. The enemy you are looking for is heavily armored, bigger than all other enemies and using a minigun. When his health bar is depleted he will explode. Once that happens you must make sure other enemies are nearby (so don't kill them yet!). At least one other enemy has to die from the explosion. If it didn't work you can reload the last checkpoint and try again.

I just want to point out that it only works if you shoot the (normal) enemy once or twice then have him blown by the explosion. Otherwise he will just slip and/or fall without dying. I restarted about 7-8 times, until it hit me, and surely it worked. Hope this comes in handy.

Edit 1 :

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1039/EF4.jpg Every Bullet Counts(B)

Defeat Tatsuo without restocking your ammunition from the UAVs, on normal or hard difficulty

Chapter 4 - A Train to Catch. This boss fight occurs at the end of Chapter 4 at the train station, after you've caught up with your fellow agent and dispatched of Aspari soldiers in the area. A train will arrive at the station, along with Tatsuo, your first encounter with an enemy Agent.

[spoiler=tat]UAV drones will hover in the area and drop ammo if you breach them.

As the fight progresses, Tatsuo will produce duplicate holograms of himself. Shoot these until they disappear and focus again on the main body. Use the bulletproof glass structure in the middle to keep Tatsuo at bay while waiting for your DaRT Overlay to refresh before repeating more of the same.

Recommended Upgrades: Augmented Overlay, Synchronize

When i first attempted this, i unintentionally started a UAV breach, however i let go of the :l2: which resulted in a failed breach; When i finished the boss fight, the trophy did not pop. So this makes me believe that not only a successful breach negates the trophy, but also the attempt to breach. Maybe somebody can confirm? Thanks.

Edit 2 :

Finally got the plat, thanks for the guide.
