You take the role of a large group of little blue creatures called Swarmites. Your objective is to go through levels and collect as many points as possible by picking up point orbs laying around or found by destroying objects. One unique feature about the point system in Swarm is that you gain points by killing your Swarmites, be careful however, because if you kill all of your Swarmites then you have to start over from the latest checkpoint. When you pick up point orbs your multiplier will increase allowing you to rack up some serious points. If you go for a long enough period without picking up point orbs or by not killing Swarmites then your multiplier will end and your current points will be added to your total. Some larger point orbs may require you to have a specific number of Swarmites to step on a pad, or by stacking your Swarmites onto each other to create a tower in order to reach them. Walkthrough Consult the Encyclopedia for tips. Step 1. Completing the Game When you start the game just mess around a little bit and learn how to control your Swarmites. Some abilities won’t be unlocked such as Stacking your Swarmites and the Smash ability until you complete later levels. The first trophy you will unlock will most likely be the "Sacrificial Lambs" trophy which is unlocked by killing 50 of your Swarmites. Play through the game collecting any of the DNA strands that you come across, most of them are in plain sight so they won’t be hard to find, however you may need one of the abilities that you unlock later to pick up some of the DNA. Try to collect as many of the strands as possible for the "Genetic Blueprint" trophy during this step so as to minimize the amount of levels that you need to replay. As you progress take a look at the list of Death Medals found in the pause menu. Don’t worry too much about the Death Medals on this first playthrough though as you can go back and get anything you may have missed in Step 2. To unlock the first boss level you will need to have completed level 5 and have collected at least 15 DNA strands, once you defeat the boss you will unlock the "King of the Hill" trophy. To unlock the final boss you will need to have completed level 11 and have collected 30 DNA strands, and after defeating the final boss you will unlock the "Hat for Momma" trophy. Before the end of this playthrough you will also unlock "The First Million" trophy through the course of the game. Trophies you will unlock after completing this step: Sacrificial Lambs The First Million Medals of Honor King of the Hill Hat for Momma Step 2. Collectibles Clean up, Death Medals, and Multiplier Trophies Now that you’ve completed the game you can go through and collect any DNA strands that you may have missed. Once you’ve collected all 50 strands you will unlock the "Genetic Blueprint" trophy. The next trophy you will be going for is the "Replay" trophy. Start at level 1 and just go through this level as fast as you can and reach the end with a 2X multiplier or higher. Doing this with achieve you the "In A Hurry" trophy. Continue to replay levels 2 and 3 and you will achieve the "Replay" trophy. After that you’ll be focusing on unlocking all of the Death Medals. Follow my Death Medal Guide in the Encyclopedia to help you with any of the difficult Mega Death Medals and Progressive Death Medals. After you unlock all of the Death Medals you will achieve the "Death Becomes You" trophy. Now it’s time to get the multiplier trophies. Start by going for "The Answer" trophy. While you’re trying to get this trophy you will unlock the "You Are On Fire" trophy if you haven't already. Choose level 8 and play through the level as fast as you can, focusing on getting as many point orbs as you can without losing your multiplier. For a walkthrough on how to get this trophy consult the video I’ve linked in the Trophy Guide. Next up, you’ll be going for the "Multiplicator" trophy. This trophy is similar to "The Answer" except you’re not rushing to the end to finish with a time multiplier. The best level to get this trophy on is level 4. Focus on picking up as many point orbs as possible and building up your multiplier. Kill Swarmites when no point orbs are in reach. For a walkthrough on how to get this trophy consult the video walkthrough I’ve linked in the trophy guide. DaFaztFingaz
Trophy Guide http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/630/01.jpg Sacrificial Lambs Kill 50 Swarmites This will probably be the first trophy that you achieve. Just kill 50 of your Swarmites by any means of death and the trophy is yours. http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/630/02.jpg The First Million High scores add up to more than 1,000,000 You should achieve this around level 3 or 4. Simply rack up points on levels and you’ll achieve the trophy. http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/630/03.jpg Medals of Honor Unlock 9 Death Medals Please refer to "Death Becomes You". http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/630/04.jpg Replay Replay levels 1, 2 and 3 after level 4 is unlocked Another easy trophy. Once you unlock level 4 return to levels 1, 2, and 3 via level select and just run through each level until the end not worrying about points. http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/630/05.jpg In A Hurry Achieve a 2X time bonus This can only be done by replaying a level. Replay a level and just focus on getting to the end. There is a lot of time to reach the finish with a 2X bonus so you shouldn’t have any trouble. The time multiplier can be found in the top right corner of the screen and will slowly count down. http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/630/06.jpg The Answer Achieve a high score of 42,000,000 [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-vJISHdeQzE]Swarm: The Answer Achievement Guide - YouTube[/ame] (Credit goes to RoosterTeeth for the video walkthrough) One of the two difficult trophies. The best level to achieve this on is level 8. Go through the level quickly while picking up as many point orbs as you can. To keep your multiplier going kill the occasional Swarmite when no point orbs are in reach. Watch the video for an excellent walkthrough. http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/630/07.jpg You Are On Fire Light your multiplier on fire. There are many good levels to get this trophy on. To light your multiplier on fire you must quickly increase your multiplier several times in succession. Just find an area with a lot of point orbs and pick them up as quickly as possible to achieve this trophy. http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/630/08.jpg King of the Hill Kill the 1st boss [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mi56nldv_-Q&feature=related]Swarm Walkthrough PT. 6 - Fire Boss - Tam o' Shanter With Extra Cheese - YouTube[/ame] (Credit goes to GameFrontDotCom for the video walkthrough) Just watch the video and pay attention to the pattern of the blades and this boss won’t prove too difficult. http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/630/09.jpg Hat for Momma Kill the final boss Unfortunately there was no video walkthrough of this boss that I could find. To defeat the Hat boss push a metal ball onto one of the red circular zones in the top corners while dodging the exploding balls being thrown at you. After that step the boss will send drills up through the floor. Be careful not to stand too close to these drills as they will quickly kill your Swarmites. Once a drill has come up through the ground smash your Swarmites into the red targets on the side. After several of the drills have been destroyed the boss will rain arrows down upon the playing field. Before it does this it will make a noise, quickly hide underneath one of the drills to stay alive. If you lose a lot of your Swarmites during the battle then wait a few seconds and the Swarm pod will replenish allowing you to regain Swarmites. The remainder of the battle will consist of the same steps each getting progressively harder. Once all of the red targets have been destroyed on the boss the trophy is yours. http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/630/10.jpg Genetic Blueprint Collect all DNA There are 50 DNA strands total. Each level contains 5 with the exception of the boss levels. Each level contains one Purple, Blue, Green, Orange, and Red strand of DNA. Each will almost always be found in that order. The DNA strands aren’t difficult to find but can sometimes be tricky to get so learn how to use your Swarmites to reach each strand. You can keep track of your progress at the level select screen or by pausing the game with during gameplay to see what DNA you've collected in that particular level. Consult my Swarm ~ DNA Strand Guide for the locations. http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/630/11.jpg Multiplicator Reach a 70X multiplier [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TsI0BwvYGc8]Swarm: Multiplicator Achievement Guide - YouTube[/ame] (Credit goes to RoosterTeeth for the video walkthrough) One of the two difficult trophies. This is the same idea as "The Answer" trophy except that you’re not rushing to the end for a time multiplier bonus. The best level to achieve this trophy on is level 4. Focus on picking up as many of the point orbs as possible and not letting your multiplier drop. Watch the video for an excellent walkthrough. http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/630/12.jpg Death Becomes You Unlock all Death Medals and turn all Progressive Death Medals to gold. Most of the Death Medals will come during the course of the game. To keep track of your Death Medal progress you can view the Death Medals at the main menu or by pausing the game with during gameplay. Consult the Encyclopedia to learn about each Death Medal and how to achieve them. Edited March 2, 2016 by DaFaztFingaz Editorial Sweep

Types of Death Medals: Trophies Related to Death Medals: Medals of Honor Death Becomes You Death Medals Death Medals are earned after your last Swarmite has been killed by one of the nine means of death. Abyss - Jump off a ledge with all of your Swarmites to unlock this medal Asphyxiated - Kill all of your Swarmites via toxic gas to unlock this medal Burned - Touch fire with all of your Swarmites to unlock this medal Crushed - Crush all of your Swarmites with large objects to unlock this medal Dismembered - Slice all of your Swarmites up with blades to unlock this medal Electrocuted - Zap all of your Swarmites with electricity to unlock this medal Impaled - Impale all of your Swarmites with objects to unlock this medal Trapped - Kill all of your Swarmites via traps set to unlock this medal Vaporized - Vaporize all of your Swarmites by exploding objects to unlock this medal Mega Death Medals Mega Death Medals are the hardest medals to unlock. To unlock these medals you must have your last ten Swarmites die by the same mean of death at the same time. Abyss - This is the easiest one to unlock and can be done on any level. Just find a gap and jump down with all of your Swarmites. - Asphyxiated - This can be done on level 2. About halfway through the level you’ll come to a bunch of vents with the button above them. Don’t press , instead keep running and you’ll see a big pool of gas. Run into the gas with all of your Swarmites to unlock the Death Medal. - Burned - In level 2 right after the large pool of gas where you got the Asphyxiated Death Medal you’ll come across throwable bombs. Keep running right and you’ll see a pit of lava. Jump in with all of your Swarmites to unlock the Death Medal. - Crushed - Right before the end of level 4 you’ll come to a hill where boulders are rolling down. Keep running until you reach a checkpoint at the end of the hill before the breakable pillars. Wait for a boulder to come down and start slowly rolling around by the checkpoint. Group your Swarmites together and run them into the boulder to unlock the Death Medal. - Dismembered - About halfway through level 9 you’ll come across spinning blades on the floor. Group all of your Swarmites around one and have them die to unlock the Death Medal. - Electrocuted - In the beginning of level 7 right after the barrier you’ll come to an electric field. Simply run all of your Swarmites into the field to unlock the Death Medal. - Impaled - In level 11 after being chased by the metal creature you’ll reach a checkpoint. Beyond this checkpoint a large creature in the distance will rain arrows down on the open area every few seconds. Just stand out in the open with all of your Swarmites and die by the arrows to unlock the Death Medal. - Trapped - About halfway through level 9 the same area you got the Dismembered Death Medal you’ll come to a large grouping of traps on the ground. Kill all of your Swarmites by jumping off of the ledge behind the checkpoint until you only have 10 or 11 left. Then run onto the traps on the ground to unlock the Death Medal. This is the hardest Death Medal to unlock so it may take a few attempts. - Vaporized - In level 4 right at the beginning you’ll come across these red cylinders that pop out of the ground. Just group your Swarmites on top of one, let them die, and the Death Medal is yours. Progressive Death Medals Progressive Death Medals count your total amount of deaths by each mean. Progressive Death Medals come in three different grades: Bronze, Silver and Gold. Each one requiring more deaths than the last. Simply keep killing your Swarmites by the same mean of death until you unlock the medals. Most of these will unlock naturally through the course of the game. If you need to grind these medals then refer to the Mega Death Medals above. JasperJRPGamer
Thanks for the guide, DaFaztFingaz! I had a blast with this game, even though the controls were a little iffy to me... Seeing so many of those little buggers die in the most horrible ways was so incredibly funny though! And thanks to the videos you provided, this was a nice and doable 100% so thanks again!
