Introduction:

Supercar challenge is the sequel to Ferrari challenge. It is a racing simulation game and is by no means easy. The approximate time to platinum is 10-20 hours and you most likely spend a lot of your time at the end grinding out the last trophy which is “Millionaire”. Once you get the hang of the game and the driving physics none of the trophies will be hard for you but the difficulty rating is boosted because of the bulk of the career races needing to be completed on the highest difficulty setting. It is also very important that you try your best to save your credits. Don't buy any expensive cars, as you will need EVERY last credit you own to put towards the "Millionaire" trophy.

There is a cheat in the PSN version (currently only available on the EU store with version 1.14) that will allow you to instantly win a race right (credit to MMDE for this):

Cheat Menu

After you start a race, and the 3, 2, 1, GO messages have disappeared from the screen, you can hold down the :select: button and a little number will appear in the bottom left corner of the screen. This number decides what spot you end up at when you activate the cheat and you can change it by holding down the :select: button and pressing the :l1: button. To activate the cheat, and instantly end the race, hold down :select: and press :l1:! Unless you've changed the number, it should already be at 1, so all you need to do is to wait for the GO message to disappear before pressing and holding down the :select: button and then pressing :r1: once to win the race.

  1. Wait for the 3, 2, 1, GO messages to disappear
  2. :select:+:r1:

How it affects the game

Almost all trophies works well with the cheat, so it renders the game a very easy 1/10 (P) and obtainable in less than 4 hours. Most of those 4 hours is spent on loading screens (taking between 30-60 seconds) and then for the race to start (another 10 seconds). The cheat does not work with the online play but that shouldn't take longer than 2 minutes or so (you don't need to race more than one lap online).

Step 1: Challenge Mode (Career)

For the first step you should begin your challenge mode season. Here you will be racing for Race Points (RP) to unlock the next stages of the career, other tracks, invitational races etc. The first trophy you should be concerning yourself with is the Challenge Dominated trophy. You will be required to dominate most of the races by winning them on the highest difficulty setting (Elite) and finishing with 32,000 RP. There will obviously be many ways to get 32,000 RP as you get different amounts for winning on certain difficulty level and you can always come back later to improve and win on the higher setting. My tactic was to win every race on elite up to the third race on the fourth stage, from them I could finish up with easy races on the rookie setting. If you aim towards getting Challenge Dominated and complete every stages bonus objectives you will unlock every career related trophy.

Step 2: Miscellaneous

Next you will have to tackle all of the miscellaneous trophies that you haven't unlocked in the challenge mode. For example: "Looking left", you can just set up a quick race, take note of the trophy description and complete the requirements for that race. In this instance, you need to complete the race without turning right. None of them are too challenging. Also create a custom livery for your car as you will need it to unlock the Styling 'n' Profiling trophy in the next step.

Step 3: Online

Take the skill you have learned from the career and race against other players online. They are the same tracks from the career mode so you can simply draw from your experience to get the upper hand over your opponents. You are able to get all of the online trophies in one session. Firstly change your team’s nationality in the “Team Area” to an obscure country so you aren’t likely to come across anyone with the same flag. Next, create an online race, set up the setting you race best on, set your car to your personalized livery. All you have to do now is win and finish with the fastest lap of the race to finish off the online segment of the game. This will have unlocked all four online trophies. It is easier to boost these trophies but it’s not impossible to get them on your own. Register for a boosting partner on the boosting thread located here: LINK

Step 4: "Millionaire" Trophy Grind

This is the final trophy that you will be working towards. You need to have 1,000,000 credits in your bank to unlock this. If you don’t want to go straight to grinding it out you can explore the rest of the game, Arcade mode, Time Trials, Tournaments etc that haven’t been featured in the trophies. After you've done all that you can set up a 1 lap race at Homestead Oval (the shortest circuit on the game) and win the rest of the credits however you want. You can win a 1v1 race using a car that has poor handling so you lose less speed and don't take the corner too sharply. The trick to gaining on the opponents is to turn slowly around the curves as the the CP will do the opposite or maybe even brake to steady itself round the corner. Once you reach 1,000,000 you will unlock millionaire and the platinum. A user has even proved to be able to clear a full grid by tinkering with the racing aid settings netting him 5250 a race. It will benefit you to mess around with the settings as it will considerably reduce the amount of time to get this trophy (thanks to DeividHasselhoff for some of the Millionaire tips).

Trophy Guide

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/210/02.jpgCredit Where Credit Is Due (B)

Achieve a perfect Credit score in an offline race.

A perfect credit score is awarded when you complete the race with the following:

  • You finish the race in 1st
  • You spend every lap in 1st without dropping a position
  • You acquire no penalties
  • Sustain no damage
  • And to own the fastest lap of the race.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/210/03.jpgClean Credits (B)

Achieve the Clean Race Credit Bonus in an offline race.

A clean race credit bonus is awarded when you acquire no penalties during a race. Make sure you drive carefully on the corners so you don't incur any.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/210/04.jpg9 Lives (B)

Cause severe damage to a Supercar in Career mode without retiring.

This trophy is confusing. The trophy description says to cause severe damage to your car. Those of you who read the manual will see that severe damage is classed as 56%- 60%. The actual requirements of this trophy are to smash your car so it is on the brink of disqualification, which is between 80%-89%. So drive into all the barriers in sight to send your damage percentage to 80%-89% and finish to unlock this trophy. (Thanks to sktwentythree for this)

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/210/05.jpgCrash Test Dummy (B)

Completely demolish a Supercar in an offline race.

If you end up smashing your car too much while trying to get “9 Lives” and go over 89% then you will get disqualified. At which point you will unlock this one. Just smash your car to 90% and your car will be demolished enough for this trophy to pop.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/210/07.jpgGlued To The Track (B)

Complete a race without going off the track. On or offline.

This is a bonus objective for Stage 2 which is where you will most likely get it. Mine unlocked whilst racing on the Paul Ricard track which has expansive run-off areas which are still classed as track. If you do not end up unlocking it here then the next race is on the Riviera. There are no grassy or gravelly areas on this so it is virtually impossible to go off the track.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/210/08.jpgLap Master (B)

Maintain first place for an entire lap. On or offline.

Simple enough, just don’t do anything silly while you’re in 1st and you will unlock it.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/210/09.jpgNo Fear! (B)

Go full throttle and hold off the brakes for 15 seconds in an on or offline race

This trophy unlocked for me on the first track I raced on, Redwood Park, which is the first race on the challenge mode. It popped on the back straight after the hairpin and before the chicane that leads to the finish line. If you don't get it here then there a plenty of opportunities on other tracks, you won't need to try to get it.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/210/10.jpgCircuit Challenge (B)

Win a race at Nurburgring without hitting any obstacles. On or offline.

If you’re attempting this one in challenge mode then make sure to qualify in pole position. It will be much easier as you won’t have to avoid other cars on the corners. If you’re having trouble, go to “Quick Race” set up a 1 vs 1 race, 1 lap and don’t hit the other driver or barriers.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/210/10.jpgNew Style (B)

Create your first new Livery.

Enter the “Supercar Showroom” and then scroll across to the “Vinyl Shop”. Then create your livery. Once you’ve done, press :circle: to save and exit. Trophy unlocked.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/210/12.jpgRace Off (B)

Create your first online race.

Scroll over to the “Race online or over LAN” section. Select “play online” then “create an online race”. Choose your settings and wait for people to join. The trophy will pop on the loading screen after you’ve finished setting it up. This can be done via LAN which does not require you to be online.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/210/14.jpgContinental Racer (B)

Race online against a driver from another country.

The easiest way to get this trophy is to change your drivers’ nationality in the game by going to “team area” then select your team nationality. You should pick an obscure country so it’s unlikely you will come across anyone in the same nationality. Complete the race against them to unlock this one.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/210/15.jpgHUD Zen (B)

Win a race without the HUD. On or offline.

There is a trick to this one. You can actually race the whole race without the HUD but when you’re reaching the end of the race pause it and switch the HUD option to “Off” in the “Racing Options” section.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/210/16.jpgChallenge Accepted (B)

Complete Stage 1 of Career mode with a 1st place finish in every race.

Simple enough. This is a good trophy to aim for to get used to all the driving physics. Play them through on "Rookie" if you need to and it shouldn't be too challenging.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/210/17.jpgPassport Stamped (B)

Complete Stage 2 of Career mode with over 6,000 Race Points.

See “Challenge Dominated”

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/210/20.jpgStage 1 Check (B)

Complete all Objectives in Stage 1 of Career mode.

Stage 1’s objectives are as follows:

  • Race with 2 different supercars.
  • Complete an event with a podium finish
  • Complete and event with no penalties
  • Complete one lap in 5th or above without dropping a position
  • Complete the invitational challenge with a podium finish

None are worth noting about. They’re all simple to obtain.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/210/21.jpgStage 2 Check (B)

Complete all Objectives in Stage 2 of Career mode.

Stage 2’s objectives are as follows:

  • Win 1 event
  • Achieve the fastest lap in an event
  • Complete an event without any damage deductions
  • Qualify in pole position before an event
  • Complete one event without going off the track

For help on the 5th objective see “Glued to the track”

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/210/22.jpgStage 3 Check (B)

Complete all Objectives in Stage 3 of Career mode.

Stage 3’s objectives are as follows:

  • Win 2 events
  • Achieve a podium finish in the rain
  • Win an event without any penalties
  • Maintain 1st position for an entire lap
  • Finish 1st in the invitational challenge.

They’re all simple, no tricks, just race

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/210/26.jpgChallenger (B)

Finish Career mode with over 24,000 Race Points.

See “Challenge Dominated”

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/210/29.jpgLooking Left (B)

Complete a California Oval race without turning right. On or offline.

The developers must’ve changed the name of the track at the last minute so there may be a little bit of confusion on this trophy. “California Oval” in the game is actually called the “Auto Club Speedway Oval”. Start a quick race there and set up a 1 lap race, 1v1 and all you have to do is complete the race without turning right. If your having trouble with this try using the D- pad so it’s not so instinctive to switch right.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/210/30.jpgWho is the Fairest? (B)

Win a race with no side mirrors. On or offline.

I got this trophy on the track called “Riviera”, Stage 2. You have to finish the race having knocked off your supercars door mirrors. Riviera is the street race, similar to the Monaco F1 circuit with barriers to your left and right. It would take some very careful driving to not get it. Vehicle wise, I would try first with the Pagani Zonda as its mirrors are quite far out.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/210/32.jpgFinished in First! (B)

Win a race crossing the line in first gear, on or offline.

Easily done by racing normally to build up a big lead and when you come to the finish line slow to make your car switch to first gear. Its quite important you have that big lead as you don't want to squander it and have to do the race all over again

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/210/35.jpgRebellious Victory (B)

Win a 3 lap race at Homestead Oval without braking once. On or offline.

Just set up a quick race, 3 laps, 1v1 and just hold the accelerator down for the whole race. The brake isn't needed.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/210/06.jpgNot Counted Out (S)

Start a race in 16th and finish in 1st. On or offline.

You will most likely get this during a challenge mode race that you are attempting to do on “Elite”. It is rare that you will finish in pole position for elite races as the target time is very hard to get close to, and doesn’t change in the wet. It is very do able but you will need a lot of patience. Pick your overtaking moments carefully and be wary of you speed as it’s easy to get caught out in the pursuit for 1st place.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/210/11.jpgStyling 'n' Profiling (S)

Take a Supercar with a personalised livery online and win.

You will have created a personalized livery when trying to get the “New Style” trophy. Take it online and beat your opponents to unlock this trophy. Make sure the livery is selected before starting the race.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/210/13.jpgShow off (S)

Achieve a fastest lap during an online race.

I can’t make this any simpler. Just race as you would in your career, don’t make any silly mistakes and hope you opponents mess up to obtain this one.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/210/18.jpgUp and Coming (S)

Complete Stage 3 of Career mode with over 10,000 Race Points.

See “Challenge Dominated”

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/210/23.jpgStage 4 Check (S)

Complete all Objectives in Stage 4 of Career mode.

Stage 4’s objectives are as follows:

  • Achieve 3 podium finishes
  • Win an event in the rain
  • Achieve the fastest lap in 2 events
  • Race with 3 different supercars
  • Qualify in 1st and go onto win the event.

You will most likely have done all of these objectives in the previous stages, so do them again in this one. They’re nothing too challenging.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/210/27.jpgStory of a Champion (S)

Finish Career mode with over 28,000 Race Points.

See “Challenge Dominated”

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/210/31.jpgWet Paint (S)

Win a race in the wet, without receiving any damage. On or offline.

This one is simple enough and should come during your challenge mode season. If it doesn’t, set up a quick race at “Homestead Oval”, as many laps as you feel you need, 1v1 and in the wet. Win the race and don’t crash into your opponent or the barriers and then job done.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/210/34.jpg Shopaholic (S)

Spend 100,000 Credits.

You will need every credit you can get to put towards the Millionaire trophy. There are 2 ways to get this:

1: Wait until you have 1,000,000 Credits then spend 100,000 of them.

2: Earn 100,000 Credits, save your game and back it up somewhere then spend all 100,000 of them.

If you go with option 2 then make sure you copy your save back so you don't lose your cash and progress towards Millionaire. Be sure to wait after you've spent the credits as the game auto-saves every time you go back to the main menu.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/210/36.jpgMillionaire (S)

Achieve a Credit balance of 1,000,000

This should be the last trophy you unlock. After finishing the challenge mode I had only accumulated around 200,000 credits. You can get the rest in many ways, there are a lot of modes the game still has to offer so explore and win more credits for the kitty. But it all comes down to the grind at the end of it. The shortest race is “Homestead Oval”. 1 lap takes 30-40 seconds depending on the car. If you set the race to 1v1 you will find that 1 lap isn’t enough to overtake the other driver. Set the transmission to manual and as soon as the dots on the screen fill up and flash red, flick the analog stick up. Most of the time, if you get the gear changes swift enough you will overtake him and claim 2,100. Rinse and repeat and you’ll have you plat in no time. There are more techniques you can use to get this trophy as fast as possible but the trick you need to always use is to turn as slow as possible. Gently tilt the analog stick and you will lose less speed this way. A forum user has been able to clear a full grid on a 1 lap race by using those techniques and tinkering with the race aid settings. So dont be afraid to experiment! (Thanks DeividHasselhoff for some of the tips)

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/210/19.jpgBound for Glory (G)

Complete Stage 4 of Career mode with over 18,000 Race Points.

See “Challenge Dominated”

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/210/25.jpgStage 5 Check (G)

Complete all Objectives in Stage 5 of Career mode.

Stage 5’s objectives are as follows:

  • Win an event under the ‘Pro’ difficulty class
  • Achieve a podium finish without the racing line
  • Qualify in 3rd or above before 3 events
  • Race with a new supercar
  • Win a race with a personal livery

If you’re following my tips outlined in “Challenge Dominated” then you will be able to do every race on this stage on rookie. But to get the first objective you will need to win one on pro to obtain it. For the second one, you are able to race the whole race without the racing line but just turn it off before you cross the finish line. The rest are self explanatory.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/210/28.jpgChallenge Dominated (G)

Finish Career mode with over 32,000 Race Points.

This is the trophy you will ultimately be working your way to in challenge mode. This will require you to “Dominate” most of the races on the “Elite” setting and claim maximum race points. There are 1,800 race points (RP) available for every race in challenge mode. There are also 5 bonus objectives for every stage which give you 200 RP each. There are many ways to get this trophy you just need to do the math and work out which way suits you. Personally I dominated every race up until the third race on the fourth stage so I could race the rest on rookie (except one in Stage 5 which needs to be raced on “Pro”. See “Stage 5 Check”). Using this method also gives you enough RP to get the “Challenge Accepted”, “Passport Stamped”, “Challenger”, “Up and coming”, “Story of a Champion” and “Bound for Glory” trophies. You will need to place first in all of the races whether you do them on rookie, pro, elite, etc for the the RP related trophies to unlock. (thanks to MCHardmanUK for that tip)

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/210/33.jpgSolid Gold (G)

Complete a Tournament event with maximum points overall (90).

If you’ve done the challenge mode trophies then this will be no challenge for you. There are just 3 races you have to win in the specified car, finish 1st in them all to earn 90 points and an easy gold.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/210/37.jpgSupercar Superstar (G)

Win the ultimate race on or offline. Visit the Eutechnyx forums to find out more. http://forums.eutechnyx.com

Visit the Eutechnyx forum and find the post which outlines the requirements to unlock this trophy. If you don’t feel like going to an outside link however, the requirements are as follows:

  • Race 3 or more laps
  • Wet weather
  • No racing line
  • Interior views only
  • No penalties
  • No contact with obstacles
  • Manual transmission
  • Remaining on the track at all times

Set up a quick race at the “Homestead Oval” set the opponents to “1v1”. Follow the other requirements by racing for 3 laps and in wet weather. If you cross the line with all the requirements complete then the trophy will be yours. Another easy gold.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/210/01.jpgSuperstar (P)

Unlock all Supercar Challenge Trophies.

Congrats on you Platinum!

For the online trophy breakdown you said there were 3 trophies online in total, yet it looks like this (B) 2 , (S) 2. That may be a mistake right there.

Nice guide and very detailed, have you submitted it?

Oh yeah, lol. Its probably because I copied the template from my FUEL guide. Thanks for pointing it out, mate.

Yeah I submitted it a couple of times. Must've got mixed in with all my tile submissions for it the first time so I decided to make the banner and change a few other thing & submitted again yesterday

I'm having issues again, trophies seem o be glitched.

I had 7,600 rc by the end of stage 2 and no trophy

Also the ultimate race trophy doesn't unlockfollowing the guide. I've won a few races now with all requirements met andnothing

Ok so I need you to answer a couple of questions so we can work the problem out.

Did you play any of the game before the patch? If so, did you carry on the same save file after you downloaded the patch?

As for the Superstar trophy, "it doesn't unlock following the guide". I'm sorry you're having problems with this but with all due respect, the requirements weren't set out by me I just provided a quick way to get them. Are you sure you've got every requirement checked off?

EDIT: Ok so I just noticed you say you have 7600 "RC". It could be possible that you're mixing 'race credits' up with 'race points'. 'Race credits' are awarded after every race whereas 'race points' are only given once you complete the race and awarded only once. You get so many for each difficulty the harder it is the more you get.

I've worked out the probelm and I thnkj it would be useful to mention it in your guide for these trophies.

In order to unlock the trophies for a certain number of race credits after stage 2, 3 and 4 you need to first get the required number of points and get first place in all the events in that stage at any difficultly level otherwise it will not unlock.

I say this becasue I got the trophy for stage 4 and noticed I had won all the events and stage 2 and 3 I only won a few events and finsijed in other places i nthe remaining events in those stage.

Since I worked this out I've finsihed career and think its a very very easy game.

Yeah fair point, i'll add it to the guide when I get back home mate thanks. I came first in all the races so I had no way of checking this.

So did you get that issue with the superstar trophy sorted out?

Yeah sorted it all out.

Just need to grind the 1mil now and its so boring I bought another game t play inbetween it.

Do you know if it has to be credits awared from races as I was on 826,000credits and sold off my cars which brought me over 1mil in total but no trophy.

Try racing another race because maybe they award it at that credit screen.

Also, is there 1mil in your bank? I've heard about people mixing the total credits awarded with credits in the bank.

You can easily win the one lap oval races needed for the millionaire trophy with automatic transmission if you use a car with bit slower turning, like Zonda or Enzo. AI is really slow with those cars in faster corners, while with DBR9 or C6R it can turn without slowing down which makes the overtake impossible.

EDIT: Seems like i can win 95% of 1 lap races even against full grid using Zonda. My TC is at 2, SC and abs at 1. This lands 5250 credits every time so it should take less than 4 hours to get the millionaire trophy

Sorry, i think my message wasnt really clear...

What i meant was that you should use car with worse handling, for example less downforce (Zonda VS DBR9). This way the AI cant blast through corners at full speed and actually slows down way too much. This is really easy with Zonda - i might upload a vid of it in utube during weekend. I didnt mean you shouldnt flick the stick all the way to the left - thats the way to go.

So

Flick the stick all the way

Dont have too strong driving aids

Use car like Zonda - one that doesnt turn so well

Overtake opponents in corners while they are driving about 30 km/h slower than they should

Repeat about 150 times

Profit

Overtake opponents in corners while they are driving about 30 km/h slower than they should

Repeat about 150 times

Profit

Overall the technique that works with all the vehicles no matter how good the handling is is how much you tilt the analog stick. I think its important to give the reader this technique as whatever car they're most used to they can bring that over and have no problem. I did millionaire with the DBR9, its was the car I used all the way through so I didn't really want to change that. It will most likely be the same with the reader.

The trophy is a grind. Plain and simple and everyone will develop their own tactics to get the best results. In truth, their is no right or wrong techniques to get this trophy and you have picked out the flaws in the descriptions which I have edited, and I thank you for that. But for such a grinding trophy I feel its wrong to go into too much detail. My description is meant to just inform the reader of what elements you can tweak in order to get the best results.

Hey man great guide;) Just wanted to know, I'm not sure what to make of this game. I enjoyed ferarri challenge and got the plat. Has this game got the same driving mechanics as ferrari challenge and is it as good? Cheers:D

Thanks man.

Well I have to say, at the end of Ferrari Challenge I was so glad to finish it. I hated that at the start you had to race with the crappy old cars. This game is definitely much the same as far as driving mechanics go but this game's a lot more satisfying all round. You get to start off with good cars, the Aston Martin DBR9 was one of my favourites so check that one out if you decide to get the game. Its handling was emmence. You could really chuck it into corners and be confident it wouldn't spin out.

Trophies wise, the difficulty rating is a bit misleading. The guide team prefers writers use the difficulty polls so it takes alot of opinions into account. But unfortunately people voted high because of the glitches (which have now been fixed). The game isn't hard at all, i'd recommend it definitely. Just look at that platinum image aswell!
