Introduction

This is the Vita version of the popular fighting game Street Fighter X Tekken. This version adds touch controls and a few other things like gallery options to the PS3 game, along with 12 new characters. Compared to the PS3 version, many of the grinding trophies have been reduced in scale significantly, so it is no longer nearly as bad.

I will not be covering the basic game mechanics in this guide, Setsuna has done a wonderful job of that in the PS3 version of the guide found here: http://www.playstationtrophies.org/forum/street-fighter-x-tekken/149750-street-fighter-x-tekken-trophy-guide-road-map.html.

The only major thing I should add is the default controls:

Light Punch (LP) - :square:

Medium Punch (MP) - :triangle:

Heavy Punch (HP) - :vitar:

Light Kick (LK) - :cross:

Medium Kick (MK) - :circle:

Heavy Kick (HK) - :vital:

Quick Combo 1 - :touchscreen: 1

Quick Combo 2 - :touchscreen: 2

all 3 punches (PPP) - :touchscreen: 3

all 3 kicks (KKK) - :touchscreen: 4

launcher (HP+HK) - :touchpad:

The right side of the touch screen is in a 2x2 grid, and tapping the appropriate corner will do the input assigned to it. This is very handy for PPP and KKK, which I find rather tricky on the Vita.

Roadmap:

After starting the game, you can enter training mode 3x, quickly change all your online settings, and play around in the galleries, and get:

Fruits of Labor (B)

The Stones Guide Me (B)

Doused In My Color! (B)

This Is How I Roll (B)

Here's My Shoutout (B)

It's Just For Research! (B)

Magnanimity (B)

Photo Op (B)

Supersonic (B)

Next, arcade mode. You'll need to clear it 28 times (once with every default team), along with starting it with 7 misc teams. You can also complete Burst Kumite mode here:

After The Dust Has Settled (B)

Trail Of Ruined Dreams (B)

The Root Of Chaos (B)

Any Time, Any Place! (B)

Ten Down... (B)

The Chosen Path (S)

Now, you can go to challenge mode. Here you will find a tutorial, character combo trials, and missions. Complete all of these for:

My Big First Step (B)

Maturity Through Discipline (B)

Just The Beginning (B)

Trial Expert (B)

The Excellence of Execution (B)

The First Mission (B)

Mission Specialist (B)

Finally, the online grind. You need to win 100 matches online, between Ranked and Endless battle. Rank up to C rank in Ranked battle. View replays in the Replay channel, and have other people download your replays. Once you've done all this, you should have:

The Warrior's Road (B)

The Crossroads of Tragedy (B)

The Harsh Road (B)

The Endless Road (B)

Learn The Fundamentals (B)

Forge Your Own Path (B)

Transcend All You Know (B)

Your Legend Will Never Die (G)

One Down! (B)

To The Victor... (S)

Proof Of Your Victory (S)

The Battle Never Ends (B)

Head Of The Dojo (B)

Observer (B)

Evangelist Of The "X" (B)

These are misc various trophies that can be done at any point during all the above:

Love Is Blind (B)

On the Cutting Edge (B)

All Too Easy (B)

Signs of Friendship (B)

Here are the grinding trophies. You'll have finished many of these during all of the above process, so just mop up the rest of these in Arcade mode, Burst Kumite mode, or online:

Title Idol (S)

A Very Special Gift (B)

Time For Some Fireworks! (B)

Anything Goes (B)

An Unknown Power (B)

Two Minds, Fighting As One (B)

Maelstrom Of Combos (B)

A Glimmering Light (B)

Let's Heat Things Up! (B)

Sturm und Drang (B)

Power Consumes All (B)

A Splendid Conclusion (B)

The Cross Revolution (B)

A Perfect Victory! (B)

Important note: These must all be done in Arcade mode (including Burst Kumite) or Network mode. They will not count in Mission mode. For all the trophies related to finishing the round with them (Cross Art, Pandora, Cross Assault, Super moves), you must not have full life, or they will count as a Perfect victory instead and you won't get credit for the other finish.

Congrats on your new platinum!

Trophy Guide:

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/1103/F3B.jpg

Zenith (P)

Unlock all Trophies.

The platinum.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/1103/006.jpg

Title Idol (S)

Obtain 300 Titles.

You obtain titles from clearing arcade mode (you only get 1 title per run, and only for the lead character), trials (you get up to 8 per character for finishing their 20 trials, but you can get 6 just from clearing 8), and online mode. Because the requirements for trials completed is so low, you'll find yourself far short of 300 by the time you're done with everything else, so just do trials until you have 300. The first 8 rarely go beyond just simple special moves, so you should be able to do this for most characters with 0 effort.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/1103/06A.jpg

A Very Special Gift (B)

Connect with 50 Special Moves.

Each character has their own set of special moves. For example, Ryu has:

Hadoken:http://bit.ly/1IcZtPahttp://bit.ly/1jhwC5Chttp://bit.ly/1lGwKgR +http://bit.ly/1PWy6z7

Shoryuken:http://bit.ly/1lGwKgRhttp://bit.ly/1IcZtPahttp://bit.ly/1jhwC5C +http://bit.ly/1PWy6z7

Tatsumaki Senpukyaku:http://bit.ly/1IcZtPahttp://bit.ly/1XnGM2ghttp://bit.ly/1lGwH4Q +http://bit.ly/1TbJvLG

Joudan Sokutogeri:http://bit.ly/1lGwH4Qhttp://bit.ly/1XnGM2ghttp://bit.ly/1IcZtPahttp://bit.ly/1jhwC5Chttp://bit.ly/1lGwKgR +http://bit.ly/1TbJvLG

If you have an easy input or super easy input gem, then the moves have different inputs (different versions are viewable from the movelist). Just connect with 50 of these in Arcade or Network mode for the trophy.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/1103/620.jpg

Time For Some Fireworks! (B)

Connect with 50 Launchers.

Launchers are done with HP+HK (on the Vita, this is mapped to :touchpad: by default, but it's probably best to unmap that so that you don't end up spamming it on accident). They are also done with chain combos, such as LP MP HP HP (the second HP will become a launcher). Land 50 of these in Arcade or Network mode and you're done.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/1103/533.jpg

Anything Goes (B)

Activate Cross Assault 50 times.

See Sturm und Drang.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/1103/91E.jpg

An Unknown Power (B)

Activate Pandora 50 times.

See Power Consumes All.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/1103/614.jpg

Two Minds, Fighting As One (B)

Connect with 50 Cross Arts.

See The Cross Revolution.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/1103/C6C.jpg

Maelstrom Of Combos (B)

Connect with 30 Quick Combos.

Quick Combos are combos that you can activate with either LP+HK (mapped to :touchscreen: 1 by default) or LK+HP (mapped to :touchscreen: 2 by default). They cost 1 meter to use. Just connect with them 30 times in Arcade or Network mode for the trophy.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/1103/1FF.jpg

A Glimmering Light (B)

Activate your Assist Gems 30 times.

Assist Gems are the purple ones, such as Auto Block, Auto Throw Escape, Easy/Super Easy Input, etc. The Easy input gems don't count unless they're activated during a combo, and the other ones cost a lot of meter and require an active partner, so I found that using gem 56 Boost Gem Extend was the best option. Combine this with a simple Boost gem that activates easily (something like connect with a launcher, connect with 5 normal moves, etc) and make sure you have 1 meter before you activate it. It's easiest to do this during arcade mode.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/1103/331.jpg

Let's Heat Things Up! (B)

Activate your Boost Gems 30 times.

Boost Gems fall into various categories - Red/Attack increase attack power, Green/Speed increase movement speed, Yellow/Defense increase defense, Blue/Onslaught increase meter gain. They are activated with varying requirements, but if you just use the default gem sets, you'll get this trophy easily without trying. The first default set of 3 attack gems activates 2 of them just with connecting with normal moves, so you could easily just stick to that set and be fine.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/1103/1C9.jpg

Sturm und Drang (B)

Finish a round with Cross Assault 30 times.

Cross Assault is activated withhttp://bit.ly/1IcZtPahttp://bit.ly/1XnGM2ghttp://bit.ly/1lGwH4Q + MP+MK, when you have a full 3 meters. You will switch characters, but your other character will remain on the screen and attack with you. Activate it 50 times for Anything Goes, and finish 30 individual rounds with it for this trophy. It doesn't matter if your partner lands the final blow, but try not to jump over the opponent, or you may get a chip win instead of a Cross Assault win.

Remember that you cannot have full life, or the round will count as a perfect and not a Cross Assault finish.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/1103/88B.jpg

Power Consumes All (B)

Finish a round with Pandora 30 times.

Pandora is activated withhttp://bit.ly/1IcZtPahttp://bit.ly/1IcZtPa + MP+MK when you have under 25% life. You'll sacrifice your on-screen character and switch to your backup character with more life, full super meter, and a countdown of 8 seconds that kills you when it ends. Activate it 50 times for An Unknown Power, and finish 30 rounds with it for this trophy. Even if you use your full super meter for a Super Art, Cross Assault, or Cross Art, it will still be a Pandora finish.

Remember that you cannot have full life, or the round will count as a perfect and not a Pandora finish.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/1103/6DC.jpg

A Splendid Conclusion (B)

Finish a round with a Super Art 30 times.

Each character has a Super Art that costs 2 meters. For example, Ryu's Shinku Hadoken is done withhttp://bit.ly/1IcZtPahttp://bit.ly/1jhwC5Chttp://bit.ly/1lGwKgR +http://bit.ly/1PWy6z7http://bit.ly/1PWy6z7http://bit.ly/1PWy6z7. It can also be done by doing a normal Hadoken, but holding P until you get a full Super Art (which costs no meter). Finish 30 rounds with this for the trophy.

Remember that you cannot have full life, or the round will count as a perfect and not a Super Art finish. Also be careful that they don't block it, or it will be a chip finish instead.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/1103/EF4.jpg

The Cross Revolution (B)

Finish a round with a Cross Art 30 times.

Cross Arts are activated withhttp://bit.ly/1IcZtPahttp://bit.ly/1jhwC5Chttp://bit.ly/1lGwKgR + MP+MK, when you have a full 3 meters. You will start a combo with your character, but then switch and finish the combo with the other character. Connect with 50 of these for Two Minds, Fighting As One, and finish 30 individual rounds with them for this trophy.

Remember that you cannot have full life, or the round will count as a perfect and not a Cross Art finish.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/1103/5DF.jpg

A Perfect Victory! (B)

Win a round without getting hit 30 times.

Like it says, win a round without taking damage. If you are in Arcade mode on Easiest difficulty, you can actually just hold forward and spam LP and get perfects most of the time. Best to grind this out during all your arcade mode runs.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/1103/128.jpg

After The Dust Has Settled (B)

Clear Arcade mode on Medium difficulty or higher.

It doesn't matter what team you use, and you are allowed to continue. If you are having trouble, just use Zangief and spam his Lariats.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/1103/5D0.jpg

Trail Of Ruined Dreams (B)

Defeat 5 rival teams in Arcade mode on Medium difficulty or higher.

You must play as a default SF or TK team in order to fight a rival team. See Stories to Tell for a list of default teams. You are allowed to continue during arcade mode for this. You can track progress under Player Data > Trophy Viewer.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/1103/71A.jpg

The Root Of Chaos (S)

Defeat all of the bosses in Arcade mode on the hardest difficulty.

There are 2 bosses that you will need to beat. If your main character is a Street Fighter character, then you will fight Akuma for the final fight. If you are a Tekken character, then you will fight Ogre. Sub character does not matter. The easiest way to do this is simply to choose Zangief and spam Lariats. For the Ogre run, choose a Tekken character as your main and use Zangief as sub, then switch to him when the battle starts. You can set it to 1 round/30 seconds to make this go faster.

Mission Specialist (B)

Clear all of the missions in Mission mode.

There are 20 missions of varying difficulty that require you to beat characters with varying conditions. You can find general tips here: http://www.playstationtrophies.org/forum/street-fighter-x-tekken/149746-all-missions-cleared.html. With the exception of mission 13 or so, the general strategy is simply this: Use Zangief with a Super Easy Input gem. With this gem, Spinning Piledriver is just done with up+P, and Atomic Suplex/Flying Power Bomb is done with up+K. Knock the opponent down by whatever means (use a different character and combo with a launcher if you need to), and then stand a little bit away and hold up+K. Release it right as they get up, and you'll catch them with a Flying Power Bomb nearly every time. This works on every mission, every character, except for 13 (as the tips say, use Vega and run away a lot).

Stories to Tell (S)

Unlock every item in the Graphic Gallery.

This is a huge grind. You will need to clear Arcade mode with ALL of the default teams. These teams are:

Chun-Li & Cammy

Ryu & Ken

Guile & Abel

Dhalsim & Sagat

Rolento & Ibuki

Poison & Hugo

Zangief & Rufus

Balrog & Vega

M. Bison & Juri

Akuma & Anyone

Mega-Man & Anyone

Sakura & Blanka

Guy & Cody

Elena & Dudley

Kazuya & Nina

Asuka & Lili

Heihachi & Kuma

Paul & Law

King & Marduk

Hwoarang & Steve

Julia & Bob

Yoshimitsu & Raven

Jin & Xiaoyu

Ogre & Anyone

Pac-Man & Anyone

Lars & Alisa

JACK-X & Bryan

Lei & Christie

(and one more time with a non default team for the generic ending)

There's also prologue videos for non default teams:

Street Fighter 1

Street Fighter 2

Tekken 1

Tekken 2

Media 1

Media 2

Media 3

For these prologue videos, you just need to start Arcade mode with appropriate characters and then you can quit immediately and choose new characters. For SF1/2, use any 2 SF characters that aren't a default team together, such as Ryu+Zangief. For Tekken 1/2, use any 2 mixed Tekken characters. For Media 1/2/3, use 1 SF and 1 Tekken character.

Set Arcade mode to 1 round, 30 seconds, Easiest difficulty to make this go faster. All progress can be tracked in the Gallery.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/1103/175.jpg

On the Cutting Edge (B)

Fight using Casual Style.

Under Options > Casual Style, you can turn this option on and off. It will disable your inputs, and you'll just be a low level AI. Finish a match with this mode on for the trophy, and then remember to turn it off!

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/1103/57D.jpg

All Too Easy (B)

Win by K.O. using Battle Tap.

Win a match using one of the :touchscreen: or :touchpad: inputs. By default all 5 inputs are mapped to attacks, so you can possibly get this by spamming them all.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/1103/747.jpg

Signs of Friendship (B)

Fight in Ad Hoc Mode.

No way around it, you'll need a friend with a Vita to get this trophy. Start up Network > Ad Hoc, find your friend, and fight 1 match for this trophy.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/1103/718.jpg

All Star (B)

Use all characters.

Use all 55 characters in Arcade mode, Network mode, etc. Cole, Kuro, and Toro can't be used in Arcade mode, so use them elsewhere.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/1103/383.jpg

I'm Just Getting Started! (B)

Swap teams in Arcade Mode.

When you start Arcade mode, the first option is Swap Switch. If you turn this on, then when you lose a match in Arcade mode you'll automatically continue and change to the opponent's team. Let this happen once for the trophy.

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/images/trophies/1103/F69.jpg

The Chosen Path (S)

Win 30 consecutive Burst Kumite battles.

Burst Kumite is an endless set of matches against the AI, and is useful to grind move uses if you don't have an online boosting partner. You can set it to Easiest difficulty and just walk over the AI 30 times for this trophy.

A general question: I have little experience with SF games. I'm more of a casual player of fighting games in general. Should I expect to struggle mightily throughout the more difficult trophies (or the platinum run in general)? My brother has a Vita and this game through PSN+ as well, so I don't imagine the online and adhoc trophies giving me much trouble at all. Lucky me.

I was looking at the list and it seems doable for me, but wanted to hear the opinions of more seasoned veterans or rookies like myself. I just thought it would be cool to have a SF platinum on my trophy resume :p
